Everypony goes through a bad break or two, just a fact of life. But this was on a different level. Shouting and cursing that could be heard for miles and two ponies, err a pony and a dragon, storming off in opposite directions. Word got around and the newly single Spike has become a center of attention. Feeling all the eyes he hides away in his room, only ever coming out to do his chores, the whole while in a distant attitude on autopilot.

Twilight and the girls become severely worried that he'd be in such a state for months if they let it be, so on Celestia's suggestion they leave for a 3 week vacation to a beautiful resort with everything you could ask for. Spike's mood is still damp even after arriving so the girls decide to cheer Spike up no matter what!

However the situation brings out feelings they hid, from each other and themselves. And an important question.

Just how much do they really love Spike?
