//-------------------------------------------------------// Shadow for lifetime: How to become a shadow alicorn -by Thundersky_GiM- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Becoming a shadow alicorn //-------------------------------------------------------// Becoming a shadow alicorn “Approaching zone bravo.” the pilot said in her Spanish accent. “Understood!” the, to this time second lieutenant, voice of a black pegasus with a red and grey mane and tail answered. A unicorn with sand coloured fur and grey and blue mane, the said second lieutenant and a grey pegasus with grey and black mane building the full strike team for the rather difficult mission. “Sky, we're here.” the grey pegasus said, grabbing his MK16 CQB with one of his wings. But the unicorn didn't answer, only being focused on his mind and what's inside. “Let me take the lead for celestias sake, your darn 26, you can't take those SDF elites alone, your too inexperienced!” the black alicorn floated angry through the mind of his host. “I'm pretty sure I can take them….” the sand unicorn answered with a rather weak voice. “You know that if you die, I die to?!” the black alicorn landed before his host. “I know that.” the unicorn glared empty at his shadow. “The shadows can make you one of the most powerful beings in the whole universe, just imagine being an alicorn. You just have to accept the shadows in you.” the alicorn said, focusing his glare onto the deep blue eyes of his host. “No.” the unicorn said, cutting the connection to his shadow. In the rear of the Raven the unicorn finally gasped back into the now. “Finally, we thought you would never come out of that state again.” the black pegasus gave his one year older brother a M4 carbine. “Don't think I would leave you that easy.” the unicorn grabbed the carbine with his magic, clipping it to his black type 3 ballistic vest. “Sky, Black Fire, stop the talking and check your stuff!” the grey pony, leader of the squad and even the whole federation, said, going through his own equipment. The two brothers go to their places and pack their backpacks. The black pegasus checks the backpack of his unicorn brother:”Sky, do you think the general hates us?” The sand unicorn looks back at his pegasus brother:”Second lieutenant Black Fire, younger brother….” he makes a short pause to hold back laughter,”Would we be here then?” “No captain.” Black answered in a playful tone. “We're here.” the voice of their pilot sounded through the headset of their helmets. The three walked to the rear hatch, opening it to have a look down at the in darkness hulled forest and their target, a secret SDF facility, barely visible in the night. “How much that this is a trap?” Sky said, folding down the quad eyed night vision goggles of his helmet. “Dunno, 100?” Black answered with an amused look on his face. “What's your bet Greyhoof?” Sky turned to his leader. “Sky, not everything is a game.” Greyhoof chuckled amused by his friend. “Awwww……” the sand colour of his fur glowed a bit as he stepped on the edge of the rear hatch of the Raven, the light of the engines being reflected by his fur. “Mira if we don't give a signal in 10 minutes, go without us.” Grey hoof stepped next to Sky. The purple pegasus turned in her seat:”Sí General.” Without needing to say anything the three ponies of the GSDF jumped out of the hovering Raven, landing safely on their hooves. All three watched after the Raven as it cloaked and disappeared into the night sky. “Sky, door.” Greyhoof pointed with the barrel of his rifle at the entrance door to the facility. The unicorn did as requested, taking of the panel of the door controls and hacking into the door controls with his lightning magic. A few seconds later the door opened, giving entrance for the three elite forces soldiers into the hostile facility. “Black, corner.” the leader of the squad said, checking the other corner, aiming down his MK16 CQB. The pegasus launched around the other corner, two black lightning bolts launching from the tip of his wings and taking out two of the SDF guards. The three continued their way until they reached their target, a room with a sign that reads:”Asgard research" The three blowed open the door, taking out everypony in the room in 10 seconds flat. Sky reloads his carbine, looking at the dead guards:”What now general?” Red lights begin to glow on the whole facility, alerts sounding in all hallways. “Blow up this place and go!” Greyhoof planted his explosive, arming the naquadah bomb by pressing the button on it's outside. Sky and Black plant their explosives as well, rushing out of the room and in the direction of the hangar. “Sky watch out!” his brother yelled at him, but it was already too late, Sky now struggling under a SDF elite soldier, barely having blocked the knife that was aimed for his throat. “GET. OFF. ME!” Sky yelled at the attacker before setting a fully charged tempest strike at the enemy, launching the now dead pony into the hallway. “What the-" The SDF officer wasn't able to finish, lighting bolts shooting from the dead body of his comrade and killing all the SDF soldiers in the hallway. “I think I broke my hoof…..” with trouble, Sky stood up, taking his M1911 and tactical knife from his vest, needing to hold the pistol in a magic field. The three hurried to the hangar where the Raven already waited for them. Black Fire and Greyhoof jumped onto the open rear hatch, Sky being a bit behind. Then about thirty and more SDF soldiers rushed into the room, giving heavy fire onto the Raven and Sky himself. Sky jumped into cover, returning fire from his pistol, his brother and squad leader giving supportive fire from the Raven. Sky quickly found out that wooden crates aren't the best cover as two bullets pierced through his right shoulder. “Go!” he yelled at his two squadmates, the shield of the Raven sparking heavy under the attacks of the enemy forces, soon being depleted, leaving the big ship as vulnerable target. “I won't leave without you!” his brother yelled back. “End the mission captain.” Greyhoof said, giving a quick salute before throwing the remote detonator to Sky who catches it, responding the salute. “We can't take more, we need to go now!” The pilot yelled back at the two ponies before activating the VTOL engines and leaving the hangar. Sky looks after the leaving Raven, knowing this is his end. “May the darkness accept me……” he closes his eyes, opening his mind barricades for his shadow. First nothing seems to happen, the SDF soldiers closing in to Sky's position, so Sky presses the remote detonator, activating the time fuse. As he thinks all hope is lost, something deep inside him begins to change. He gasps as a sudden power flows through him, letting all of his body feel pain, especially his sides. He winces in pain, his whole body growing to a size about 10 centimetres taller than an average pony, wings growing on his side before the process finishes, stopping his aging completely. “YOU CAN'T TAKE THE SHADOWS ALIVE!" he yells at his enemies with a changed voice, opening his wings. His whole body begins to turn into a transparent black, the bullets from the enemy rifles passing right through him like he wasn't even there. “Turn around at instant!” Black Fire yelled at the pilot of the ship. “If we do where dead!” the mare yelled back, not even looking back at her friend. Then there was a bright flash in the distance, followed by a massive fireball from the naquadah bombs. “No…….” Black sank to the ground, knowing his brother couldn't have survived the explosion. “He sacrificed himself to complete the mission and let us finish this war…….” Greyhoof stopped as the rear of the whole Raven suddenly got hulled in a deep black. The shadows flowed together, forming the shape of an alicorn. Black Fire wants to investigate the shadows, feeling the presence of his brother, but Greyhoof holds him back. The shadows disappeared, leaving an unconscious alicorn in their place, shadow energy flowing through his sand coloured fur here and there. “Sky……….?” the black pegasus slowly approached the unconscious pony, tears in his eyes. The alicorn slowly opened his eyes:”I…….It...worked without killing me.” A voice in his head answers:”Of course it worked you moron!” Sky shakes his head at the voice, carefully pushing himself of the ground. “Sky!” Black tackle hugs his brother. “Ufffff" he falls onto his back, hugging his brother close. “Sky how did you survive?!” The alicorn looks down his body, shadow energy replacing fur here and there:”I…..let the shadow….take control.” His brother looks at him concerned:”Are you sure this was a good idea?” “Time will tell brother….” Sky answered,”Time will tell.” The Raven landed on the carrier UNSA Wolfenstein, Sky being brought to the medical bay of the ship. The carrier turned and jumped to FTL, it's Lantean FTL giving all it got to get the carrier back to Equestria in a few days. Author's Note And with that finishes my first Twitterponies story.
