Chapters The next day I woke up went into the hallway and passed Silver Flare. I ask her where the shower was and she said it was down the hall and it the second door on the right. I went down the hall and made a left. I found the bathroom and was amazed to see it was almost three times the size of our bathroom. Guess when your rich you can afford to make things a big as you want. I went behind the folding screen and undressed when one of the servants came in with some clothes for me.
“ Please pardon my intrusion Miss Heartstrings but Miss flare requested i bring these to you,”
“ Thank you i guess”
“ Also Master Chance is waiting for you in his Garage,”
The maid took her leave and i began my shower. I was amazed by the brands of soaps shampoos and conditioners the Silver family had. Most of these were not sold anywhere in America. I washed everywhere with the pink soap since i liked the tree that was on the bottle. I finished my shower and began drying off when i saw a note on top of the clothes that were left for me. I picked it up and read it.
“ As per our agreement Lyra i would like for you to show this ensemble off to everyone at school. It's all yours if everyone likes it and i know they will. Silver Flare
I picked it up and noticed it was the same outfit from yesterday. I started with the dress and noticed this time it fit me perfectly. The tights were still the same but i managed to fit in them like last time. I zipped the boots and checked the weather app on my phone. The temperature went down a few degrees from yesterday and luckily for me Flare also left me the coat and scarf too. I buttoned up my coat and noticed it fit a lot better than last time. After putting the scarf on I left and met Silver by his car.
Siver was waiting for me. Silver told me he packed my old clothes inside my backpack while i was in the shower. Silver told me how lovely i looked and i asked him if everyone else will think the same thing as well. Silver assured me his mom’s designs were very popular among teenage girls mostly. I felt very happy to hear that and as we arrived at School some of the other girls began to approach the parking lot. As me and Silver stepped out of his car The crowd of girls began to beg Silver for his number until they noticed me and began to ask me questions.
“ OMG is that part of Ruby Style’s new line where did you get it,”
“ How did you manage to hook up with our man?”
“ Ladies while we would love to stay and chat but we need to get ready for class and i would suggest you do the same,”
“ Whatever you say handsome,”
Me and Silver made it to our lockers despite the girls fawning over Silver in the hallway. Bonbon was waiting for me and was glad to see im ok and even more glad to see my new outfit.
“ Lyra you look very fashionable today where did you get that amazing outfit from”
“ Can you keep a secret?”
“ you know i can,”
“ Silver’s mom is really Ruby Style and this is a part of her winter line,”
“ I'm so jealous right now how did you get that from her?
“ After she saw how fabulous i looked in it she offered me a job modeling for her,”
Me and Bonbon headed to our first period class. What was strange was that their was no sign of Blaze today. Not surprising considering that scene from yesterday. We made it to our class and took our seats. Our teacher got up from her desk and told us she had an announcement to make.
“ For those of you who are wondering where Blaze is he is no longer registered with our school. His father decided to take him out of our school for some unknown reason,”
I knew why and so does Silver. When Blaze’s dad said he was disowning him he really meant it. I have some sneaking suspicion we haven't seen the last of him yet. First period went by relatively fast and as we were approaching our lockers we bumped into Rarity. She brushed herself off and was in shear awe at my new outfit.
“ Lyra darling how did you manage to come across Ruby Style’s newest winter line i thought that would not hit the shelves til november,”
“ Lets just say i just became friends with her yesterday,”
“ You must introduce me to her she is one of my biggest inspirations,”
“ You may want to ask Silver first because he was the one who introduced me to her,”
“ Sorry about eavesdropping but i could not help but here you wanted to meet my mom “Rarity?”
“ Silver darling are you telling me your mother is the Ruby Style?”
“ She is but please keep this a secret my mother prefers to do her work in peace and can't do so with hundreds of people storming our property”
Rarity understood why silver did not want to talk about his mother so much now that she knew she was a celebrity and like herself prefered peace and quiet while creating. Me,Rarity,Bonbon and Silver went our separate ways for now and i felt good about second period today now that Blaze is no longer in my class. I made it to my second period and our teacher told us the same thing from earlier. Second period went by without much trouble and I reunited with Bonbon in third period. I took my seat next to Bonbon and most of the other girls in our class looked at me in amiration thanks to my outfit. Third period went by fast despite my new found popularity. Me and Bonbon went to our lockers and put our books away. We then left for the cafeteria and luckily for me today they were serving my favorite chicken tender boxes. I grabbed my black box of deliciousness and met up with Silver and Bonbon. Bonbon was talking about yesterday's news report and how this may concern Silver sooner or later. Silver shared his hypothesis on who he thought the assailant was. Me and Bonbon agreed it could be a possibility. While we were eating Silver Spoon approached us feeling like she was lost and confused.
“ Silver Spoon” are you feeling ok?”
“ Oh sorry im fine its just without Diamond Tiara i feel scared and vulnerable”
“ What are you so afraid of?”
“ Besides what happened to my friend last night everyone picking on me again,”
“ Why would someone pick on such a beautiful girl like you?”
“ you know you're right besides my boyfriend your the second person who complimented me like that,”
“ Glad i could help,”
Silver invited Silver Spoon to join us since she had no one else to sit with. Silver Spoon asked us if we were doing anything special for valentines day and we told her about our plans to go to the grand opening of Seven Stars Universe. Silver Spoon told us about how lucky we were since she had a bit of a challenge getting her boyfriend to put his joyboy down and take her somewhere that romantic.
“ Well you two are in luck because in the spirit of the holiday admission for couples is free,”
“ Awesome did you hear that “Button” we can go to the greatest Amusement Park for free,”
Button Mash paused his game and began celebrating with Silver Spoon. Silver asked Bonbon if she had someone she was taking. Bonbon said not yet and we kept chatting among ourselves. The bell rang and we went our separate ways again. Bonbon and I were on our way to our lockers when we bumped into A boy with piercing red eyes orange skin and yellow hair. The boy helped Bonbon up and Bonbon had that same look i did when i met Silver.
“ Are you ok miss?”
“ Im fine”
“ Im Phoenix Kasai by the way,”
“ nice to meet you i'm Bonbon,”
I noticed that Bonbon and Phoenix were starting to feel the same way me and Silver began.
“ So Phoenix me and my friend are going to the grand opening of Seven Stars Universe tomorrow do you want to join us?”
“ Sure i'm in,”
With the arrangements for our dates now finalized we went to our next classes. We made it to fourth period and our teacher mentioned the same thing as our other teachers. Class went by fast and after our next two classes we began walking home. The walk home felt more joyful this time now that you know who is not around. Bonbon and i went to our houses and when i got inside mine my father surprised me.
“ Welcome home Lyra we are so glad your safe and before i forget you have a package we put it in your room,”
I walked up the stairs and entered my room. A medium sized box was sitting on my bed and i read the address label. The package was from Silver Flare. I opened the box and saw a new outfit with a note on top of it.
“ Silver told me about your date with him so i figured i would create a little something for it. This dress will go well with the coat and scarf you have on already. Have fun on your date. Ruby Style.
I hung my new dress in my closet and decided to rest up for the night. I was very excited for tomorrow. I wonder what Silver might be up too.
I drove into my garage and went to the living room. My father was watching the news again.
“ The assailant strikes again this time one of Ruby Style’s fans has been beaten close to death,”
The camera changed to a picture of a red teenage girl with long black hair dyed the same crimson color as mine. The noticeable difference is that her blood washed out some of her hair dye. I noticed she also had that huge palm mark on her arm just like Diamond Tiara. This second victim narrowed the list of potential targets to either me or my mother but i could not say for certain since we still could not make a connection as to who this guys real target was yet. All we had so far was the first victim being rich and the second victim being a redhead sort of.
“ Luckily the girl is still stable and resting in the Hospital. We will keep you all informed as more details come,”
My father turned the tv off and took another moment of silence. I went back to my room so i could add this new piece of information to the board i started and hopefully find out who this assailant is and who they are really after. I decided to go to sleep for the night and focus on my date tomorrow. Hopefully Lyra is as excited as i am.

The morning sun peered through my ice covered window as the rays melted through and i got ready for the day and my big date with a certain red headed gentlemen. I checked my phone for the current temperature and luckily it was only fifty degree so far but would get colder around the afternoon so i grabbed the outfit Silver’s mom gave me and changed into it. The coat covers the dress so i won't look too flashy and i should be able to make it to my date tonight. I ran downstairs and saw dad watching more news coverage about the mystery killer known as The Assailant.
“ After two nights of attempted murder we at Channel 69 News warn all teenage girls in the city to be on your guard because you might be this mans next victim,” The news anchor said before the camera shifted over to his partner.
“ Thanks for the warning Chad and now for a little good news to balance out the bad tonight marks the grand opening of Seven Stars Universe previously known as Seven Stars World but after the park bought most of the abandoned toy stores in the area and with some demolishing and rebuilding this already great theme park has now evolved into a much more promising park we will keep you posted on how this new park does tonight at nine,” The co anchor said before my dad turned the TV off and walked up to me.
“ Lyra i know i can,t stop you and me and your mother both know love is hard to come by but please be careful and tell your boyfriend to bring you home by 10:30,” My dad said as he went back to his study to write is latest book.
I woke up and was very excited about tonight because of my date with a very special lady. I grabbed my hat and coat and left for my Personal Garage until my Dad stopped me for a moment.
“ Silver be careful out there because i just figured out who this guy’s real target is and it's you. How do you know that? The first victim was Diamond Tiara who like us was one of Canterlot City’s wealthiest citizens and the second victim had red hair both characteristics that match you and you said you recognized the palm marks. I will be careful don,t worry.
I left for my car and drove off to School to meet the three people who would be joining me tonight. As i drove through the streets i noticed some people were also taking in the spirit of the holiday. Luckily i had a special surprise for Lyra. The School was coming up on the horizon and Lyra and Bonbon were waiting for me by the front entrance. I parked my car and joined them on our way to class. First Period went by smoothly but just before the bell rang Vice Principal Luna made an announcement over the PA System.
“ ATTENTION STUDENTS MANDATORY ASSEMBLY IN THE AUDITORIUM IN TEN MINUTES,” Vice Principal Luna said before the sound of her turning the mic off echoed.
The entire student population flooded the Auditorium as the administrators kept repeating the words single file. All the seats were filled and Principal Celestia took the stage.
“ NOW THAT WE HAVE EVERYONE LETS GET DOWN TO WHY WE CALLED YOU ALL HERE. AS ALL OF YOU MAY HAVE HEARD THERE IS A MYSTERY KILLER OUT THERE AND WE AS EDUCATORS ARE EXTREMELY CONCERNED FOR YOUR SAFETY SO WE INVITED THE SERGEANT OF OUR CITY’S POLICE FORCE TO FILL YOU IN ON HOW WE WILL DEAL WITH THE SITUATION SO I NOW OFFICER SHINING ARMOR WILL TAKE THINGS FROM HERE,” Celestia said before turning the mic over to Shining Armor.
“ THANK YOU PRINCIPAL NOW I'M SURE SOME OF YOU HAVE PLANS FOR TONIGHT AND LET ME ASSURE ALL OF YOU WE HAVE NO INTENTION OF GETTING IN THE WAY OF THEM BUT WE WILL HAVE A CURFEW IN EFFECT UNTIL THIS MYSTERY KILLER IS DEALT WITH SO UNTIL WE APPREHEND HIM OR HER ALL STUDENTS AND TEACHERS ARE TO BE BACK IN THEIR HOMES BY 8:30 PM AND WE WILL BE STATIONING EXTRA SECURITY AT ANY AND ALL GATHERING PLACES AND FINALLY IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THIS KILLER WE DON,T KNOW ABOUT PLEASE REPORT IT TO THE POLICE THAT IS ALL,” Shining said as he passed the mic back to Celestia.
“ THANK YOU OFFICER AND ONE LAST THING BEFORE WE DISMISS EVERYONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CURFEW WE WILL BE ENDING CLASSES AN HOUR EARLY TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE MAKES IT HOME SAFELY STARTING TODAY. EVERYONE IS NOW DISMISSED,” Celestia said as everyone got up and exited the Auditorium.
The Assembly ate up so much time that it was almost lunch time so me and Lyra met by our lockers. We waited for Bonbon and her date to join us on our way to the Cafeteria. We all met at our usual table and discussed our plans for the night and i generously agreed to drive everyone.
The rest of the day went by fast and we all met by my car. Lyra took the passenger seat while Bonbon and Kasai took the back. The drive was not as bad as i thought it would be but we kept our guard up. After reaching Seven Stars Universe we parked by the monorail and got in line to board it.
Meanwhile near the back entrance to the park Blaze was hiding in the bushes waiting for one of the employees to come out so he could steal their uniform and sneak in to the park and finally kill his former friend. A security guard came out to check the perimeter just as scheduled. Blaze snuck up behind him and slammed his aluminum bat which he stole from the CHS Equipment Shed during the assembly. Blaze may be a muscle head but he was quite the strategist. Blaze stashed the body in the bushes where he was hiding and swapped clothes with it. Blaze swiped the keycard and entered the park awaiting his target.
Me and Lyra were both reached the front gate and Lyra showed her the flyer.
“ Have fun you two and might i say out of all the couples here tonight you two look the closest,” The lady said as we entered the park with Bonbon and Kasai following behind.
As we reached the center of the park and looked at the map we noticed Sunset and the others were here too. She said they were all going to ride the Requiem for a whiplash roller coaster and asked if we wanted to as well. I asked Lyra and the others and they agreed to it. The line was not as long as we thought considering the intensity of this ride so it only took five minutes for our turn to come. We all sat next to our dates as we boarded the ride and we started to climb the hill which was one of the tallest climb a roller coaster could reach. As the drop came up we plunged down at seventy four miles and spun around in the biggest helix funnel ever and then descended down again but this time past a photo station as we reached the mid-way point on the ride. We then rode over some boosters set for sixty miles and were sent through the quintuple loop de loops. Just before Lyra felt close to motion sickness we reached the brakes and were slowly pulled back to the boarding station. We all stopped by the photo stand and naturally as the generous person that i was bought two of our photos and two of Kasai and Bonbon’s. Just as we were about to debate what to do next i heard a woman's scream coming from a empty part of the Park and rushed over to see what it was.
“ Lyra stay with Bonbon and Kasai i have a feeling this might be who i think it is,” I said before taking off.
“ Just be careful Silver,” Lyra shouted.
Once i reached the source of the scream i saw what looked like a security guard mugging a innocent looking girl dressed in a cute outfit like something from an anime.
“ Why are you hurting such a delicate lady you monster?” I shouted at the guard.
“ So i could lure you here Silver because i know how your code of honor states that you would never ignore a women in need,” The Guard said as he shed his uniform revealing him to be none other than Blaze Firestorm wearing the torn remains of the last outfit we saw him in.
“ Blaze i knew all this time you were this assassin that was all over the news but what i don't get is why go after innocent people when i’m the one you want?,” I asked already knowing what the answer would be.
“ You have know idea what it's like being poor and homeless you were born lucky you have everything, A caring family, Endless wealth, not to mention the fact everyone sees you as some kind of hero when in fact I was the one who risked everything to free our middle school from that tyrant,” Blaze replied with a hint of sadness in his voice.
“ All you did was hurt a lot of people who had nothing to do with our fight i wanted to handle the situation peacefully but you were too impatient to even hear me out. your way may have got her fired but no matter how much forgiveness you receive that does not change what you did nor will the consequences of your actions be dropped. Everything that has happened was your own fault,” I said hoping Blaze would do what was right and turn himself in.
Blaze started to pull something from his back pocket. It looked like a Type 54 black star handgun. I recognised this particular gun from one of the many guns my father had decorated all over the walls of his study. Blaze began to take aim at me and fired like crazy at me. I dodge most of the bullets but one of them grazed me by the side. The wound left a trail of blood as i ran to find somewhere away from everyone.
“ Why are you doing this and where did you get a Type 54 Black Star i thought those were all recalled back in the 50s?” I asked.
“ You would be surprised by what most shady dealers you meet on the streets have in stock but i’m afraid you won't live long enough to find out. I have one bullet left and that's all i need to end you Silver,” Blaze said as he prepared to fire again.
I was just about ready to give up until i bumped into a suit of armor and it dropped its sword next to me. I looked up and noticed we were in the medieval section of the part which was still under development. I grabbed the sword in hopes of protecting myself. Blaze shot his gun and my senses started to move slowly like a samurai. In a moment of instinct i performed a forward vertical slice and manage to slice the bullet in half which caused both halves to shoot two sections of the wall behind me instead. Blaze was shocked by what i managed to do as was i. Blaze dropped his gun and charged at me with his fists. I dodged his punch and combined my palms together and slammed them into Blaze knocking him onto the ground. A bunch of people including Lyra, Bonbon and Kasai came rushing over after hearing the gunshots and saw me barely standing with blood dripping from my side. After seeing the other guy was Blaze I asked Bonbon to call the police and tell them i beat the assassin. Bonbon did as instructed while Lyra and Kasai helped me up and walked me to the Park’s Clinic. After seeing the bleeding area where one of Blaze’s bullets grazed me the nurse patched it up and told me i could keep enjoying the park but to try and replenish my strength first. As we left the Clinic we saw the police rushing towards the scene where me and Blaze thought. Shining Armor stopped to speak with me.
“ Silver thanks for aiding us in this matter and we all hope you recover soon,” Shining said as he followed his men.
The cops were now hualing Blaze away in handcuffs with his gun sealed away in an evidence bag. Blaze was about to try and make another hit on me until one of the officers tasered him and told him to keep moving. I asked the officers what they were going to do with Blaze and they told me his punishment will be decided at his appointed trial to be held at a later date. Me and Lyra decided to get something to eat and left Bonbon and Kasai to do whatever they wanted.
The next day I woke up still feeling the pain from last night. After getting dressed i proceeded to go downstairs only for my wound to act up and caused me to fall. Luckily Lyra came by to catch me.
“ Thanks Lyra,” I said.
“ Just returning the favor for saving me,” Lyra replied.
As we approached the living room my dad told us to come see what he was watching. What we saw really filled us with relief.
“ Last night at Seven Stars Universe the assassin struck again but thanks to the selfless and heroic actions of one Silver Chance not only did he stop him but revealed his identity as eighteen year old Blaze Firestorm. Mr. Firestorm’s trial is scheduled for noon today tune in at noon for more,” The reporter said.
We continued to my Garage and drove to School. As we parked we saw a bunch of students gathered by the entrance holding signs and a banner saying “ Thank you Silver” was taped over the front entrance. Once the other students saw us they began cheering for me like i was some kind of hero. Blaze was right about one thing people do see me as some kind of hero but that's because i think and wait before acting which was something he never understood and hopefully his incarceration will teach him that lesson. The principal and vice principal pushed through the crowd and approached us.
“ Glad to see your still standing Silver,” Celestia said.
“ Do you have any idea how dangerous that was?” Luna said but with a hint of anger.
“ I know but someone had to do something my father always told me never be afraid to do the right thing no matter the danger,” I replied which caused the students to cheer more.
As the day went by the news about my confrontation with Blaze spread and most people thanked me for stepping up and doing what no one else had the guts to do.
Two weeks later me, Lyra, Bonbon and Kasai were in my game room just relaxing when my dad came in and told me to switch to the news because he know i would want to see this. We changed the channel on the TV in the room and we made it just in time for the report. All four of us gather on the couch and started watching.
“ The trail of Blaze Firestorm has finally concluded. After three straight days and numerous testimony from the victims and people involved in this case the verdict has been decided. Blaze Firestorm has been sentenced to fifty years in the Tartarus Island Prison where he will never see the light of day ever again or any other teenagers he can hurt. To Mr. Firestorm i say goodbye and good riddance,” The reporter said adding some rage in her final statement.
We all cheered loudly after hearing that but as more me i had one last thing to say to Blaze before they locked him away for good. We drove to the docks where the prison ship for Tartarus Island was still docked and the officers were exiting their squad car with blaze in hand. I asked if i could say one last thing to Blaze before he left. Since i risked my life to stop him they gave me five minutes to do so.
“ Where did it all go wrong we were once like brothers but now look at us,” I said.
“ It went wrong when you betrayed me and left me taking all the blame,” Blaze replied trying to break free but failing to do so.
“ I did not betray you i had a non violent solution and you refused to hear it. I know how inpatient you were back then but why take it out on other people?” I asked hoping to hear his answer before it was too late.
“ Because after my expulsion i was left to rot in a school meant for Special needs children because no other school wanted a monster like me,” Blaze replied.
“ I may not know how that felt but that is no excuse to hurt innocent people and since this is the very last time you are going to see any of us again i am leaving you with these final words to reflect on for the next fifty years,” I said before telling the officers i was finished and they continued to march Blaze to the ship.
As we drove back to my house to continue with our day the unanswered questions and the burden on my chest finally lifted after four years i finally felt free.
“ And that Blade is the story of how me and your mother met for the first time,” Future Silver said as his son began to feel inspired.
“ Thanks dad now i,m no longer afraid of that bully,” Blade said as he went to bed.
As Silver left his son’s bedroom Lyra came up and spoke to him.
“ You told him that story didn't you,” Future Lyra asked knowing how rough a day their son had.
“ You know it my Heartstrings hopefully our blade will feel more confident now,’ Future Silver said.
As they exchange a light kiss they both went to their room for the night.

My name is Lyra Heartstrings and tonight, I’m on a date with the nicest and wealthiest boy at Canterlot High. Things could be perfect, If it wasn’t for a certain someone.
Though, how our meeting began is quite a story in and of itself. It was an ordinary Monday morning, the late winter snow lightly covered the ground below with the temperature staying at a constant forty six degrees and the sound of my favorite boy band and their newest hit song filling my room with almost enough decibels to wake everyone in my house. I suddenly woke up with a burst of adrenaline and rushed to the bathroom to perform the everyday ritual of getting ready for the day. I ran back to my room and placed my homework in my bag when Mom shouted from down stairs, “Lyra, bonbon is here and waiting for you!”
I rolled my eyes at my mom’s words as I grabbed my backpack and rushed down the stairs. I ran past Dad in the living room and he told me to slow down before I tripped. Despite being in such a rush, I followed his advice and slowed down. I then noticed a recognizable smell from when I was younger and followed it to the Kitchen. I entered and saw Bonbon sitting at the table finishing up the last equation on her math homework.
I greeted mom and Bonbon, then noticed Mom was making her special mint chocolate chip waffles that Bonbon and I enjoyed so much. Mom placed her whole stack in the center of the table along with some syrup. Bonbon put her math homework back in her backpack and moved some waffles onto her plate. I grabbed a little less than Bonbon since I was still working off some of the Emergency Chocolate I ate to finish my homework. I slowly cut my waffles in fourths, as did Bonbon, and then we ate as quickly as we could.
After we had our fill, we grabbed our bags and began our usual walk to School. Bonbon and I then began talking about our plans for Valentine’s day. We both decided to go to the grand opening of the new amusement park, Seven Stars Universe. Bonbon checked the flyer she printed out and noticed something in small print near the bottom of the page. The print said, “admittance is free for couples,” which caused a bit of a damper on our plans since both of our combined savings were only enough for the individual rates and maybe a few concessions. We decided since valentine's day was just two days away we would try and hope someone asks us out or try and find someone ourselves.
The bell rang loudly as the students all left for their second period classes and Bonbon and I went to our lockers to prepare for ours. Bonbon swapped out her math book for her history book and told me she would see me in third period before leaving for her class. I had just grabbed my books for my next class when I felt someone slam my locker shut and saw an orange boy dressed in something almost similar to Sunset’s old outfit only with red hair styled in a buzz cut.
“Well well well,” the boy taunted, “if it isn't the pony freak.”
“Whoever you are please don't hurt me,” I said as I backed up nervously.
“Well too bad,” yelled the boy, “Freaks like you and dead eyes over there don’t deserve to live!” He pointed at Derpy before punching me in the stomach.
I was scared and was about ready to cry until a blue boy with red hair wearing a grey suit with a matching fedora came up and decided to do something.
“"Blaze, leave her alone, she didn't do anything to you. Now back off, or else I'll show the principles my recordings!"
The boy pulled out his phone and replayed the video of the whole incident. Blaze started sweating bullets and ran off shouting, “This isn’t over,” before disappearing around the corner. The boy helped me up and helped me pick up my books.
“Thanks for saving me,” I said gratefully.
“A gentleman always helps a lady when needed,” the boy responded as he bowed politely.
“I’m Lyra by the way,” I introduced.
“Pleasure to meet you. My name is Silver Chance, but most people just call me Silver,” I looked into Silver’s deep blue eyes and noticed he was doing the same with mine.
Me and Silver went our separate ways for now, I hurried to class. I made it with ten seconds before the lock out went into effect. The teacher took roll call and unfortunately for me Blaze was waiting for me. I was very nervous since the one who hurt me is right behind me. The seconds felt like minutes to me since there was no one to save me this time. Just as Blaze was about to make his move the bell rang loudly and I hid in the crowd and safely made it to my locker. I checked for any signs of Blaze and entered my combination. I quickly swapped my books out and ran to my third period class. I made it in time and was glad to be somewhere Blaze isn't. I took her seat next to Bonbon and told her about what happened before second period. Bonbon felt bad leaving about leaving me alone like that and promised to stay by my side. Third Period went by fast mostly due to my new enemy not being there.
Lunch time finally arrived and the students filled the room. Me and Bonbon found our usual table and sat down. I explained to Bonbon about what happened during the passing period and about how Silver saved me from Blaze and his fists of iron. As our conversation continued the boy I was talking about entered the Cafeteria and Bonbon instantly recognized him from her mother’s workplace. Bonbon was a bit afraid of him considering where her mom works.
“I actually heard about that Silver Chance. He’s the heir to the Silver Corporation, and big weapons manufacturer. Be careful Lyra, because if he’s anything like his father, then he might be scary and dangerous,”
I thought Bonbon was overreacting a bit and saw Silver carrying a lunchbox looking for a place to sit. Seeing a chance, I took it and waved to get his attention. Silver seemed to notice me waving to him and walked closer to us. As he got closer, I said, “Hey Silver, how are you?”
Silver took a seat across from me before pulling out his lunch, which looked to be steak with a side of lobster mac & cheese, and said, “I’m doing good, thanks. Glad I saw you, it’s always a hassle trying to find a good place to sit here.”
I laughed and said, “I know the feeling. Anyway, Silver, meet my friend Bonbon.” She gestured to the cream-colored girl sitting next to me.
Silver reached his hand out to shake Bonbon’s. “Nice to meet you Bonbon and might I say you're as sweet as your name,” he complimented.
Bonbon blushed as she hadn’t expected the compliment, but cleared her throat and spoke directly. “Well thank you,” she said, “and thanks for standing up for my friend. Ever since middle school, nearly everyone picked on her and I'm the only one who cares about her.”
Silver gave a surprised look towards me and I just looked away in embarrassment. “That must have been very scary,” he sympathized.
“It was,” I said, “but Bonbon never left my side, so I managed.” I smiled again as I hugged my best friend and she did the same.
Silver smiled at the display and said, “Well now you have two people who care about you Lyra.”
I smiled at Silver’s declaration before a thought crossed my mind. “By the way Silver, just curious, but how do you know blaze?” I asked. I figured I should know more about the guy if I was gonna be running into him again.
Silver sighed as he explained, “He and I used to be friends back in middle school, until he was expelled for roasting our tyrant of a principal over the PA system. Then he tried to frame me for it when I refused to take part in it.” He then gained a bitter look as he recounted his past with Blaze.
“Why would he do something so dumb and reckless?” I asked incredulously.
Silver sighed and continued, “We both hated how he treated the students like crap and how well he was able to hide it while the school board was around so that no one could prove anything bad was happening. So Blaze decided to take matters into his own hands by beating up nearly a dozen teachers and administrators just to reach the PA system and trick the Principal into revealing his true colors. I guess you could say he won the battle but lost the war.” Silver’s eyes then showed sadness and forlornness.
I then decided to take matters into my own hands as I stood up and walked next to Silver and pulled him into a caring hug. He seemed surprised at first, but then I told him, “Well don’t worry. Just as you care about me, I now care about you.” My words appeared to have reached him as he reciprocated my hug fully. Meanwhile, Bonbon looked on in surprise and a bit of sadness as Silver’s level of compassion and empathy for her best friend.
Me and Silver spent most of the lunch period getting to know each other. Silver and I had a lot in common which was a good start. Bonbon asked what Silver had planned for his family’s company since a weapon’s company had no place in an era of peace like this.
Silver smiled and said, “Well at the moment I’m researching the market and keeping track of what is trending these days, seeing if there’s anything I can do to improve the company.”
The bell rang, I and Silver exchanged numbers before leaving for our fourth-period classes. I was so happy not even Blaze could ruin my good mood. The rest of the school day went by very smoothly and as the students flooded out of the building, I and Bonbon began our walk home. As we were made our way, Blaze came charging in at us laughing evilly. he shoved me onto the ground and covered me in dirt. “No one is going to save you now freak. Now, where were we? Oh yeah, about to rob you blind,” Blaze said as he began rummaging through my bag. Bonbon ran back to the school for help and luckily found Silver speaking with a man dressed like an executive.
“Silver, I'm so glad I found you,” Bonbon said as she ran up to him.
“Bonbon? What's the matter?” Silver asked worriedly.
“It’s Blaze again,” panted Bonbon, “he just shoved Lyra into someone’s garden and is robbing her!”
Silver then became much angrier as he said, “Okay, this has gone too far. Bonbon, don't try anything, I will be there shortly,”
The man could not believe what he just heard and asked Silver to bring him along. Silver told him to hop in and he drove out of the parking lot following Bonbon. Silver found the scene of the fight and pulled right next to it. He got out of the car and walked over to Blaze before yanking him away from me and my bag. “You don't scare me this time Chance,” laughed Blaze, “I know you're bluffing so there is nothing you can do to scare me.”
“I might not scare you,” admitted Silver, “but he will.” Silver pointed to the car and the man from earlier exited the car and looked like he was close to breaking a blood vessel.
“BLAZE BEUFORD FIRESTORM!” he shouted, “THIS IS THE LAST STRAW, I TRIED BEING PATIENT WITH YOU BUT NOW YOU FORCED ME TO PUT MY FOOT DOWN, SO AS OF RIGHT NOW YOU ARE DISOWNED AND EVICTED, THE ONLY THING IM LEAVING YOU WITH IS THE CLOTHES ON YOUR BACK!”
“But where the hell am I supposed to live?!” Blaze shouted in retaliation.
“YOU CAN LIVE IN A MOLDY OLD CARDBOARD BOX IN A DRIPPING WET ALLEYWAY FOR ALL I CARE,” declared the man, “AND IF YOU EVER SET ONE FOOT ON MY PROPERTY OR CAUSE ANY TROUBLE WHATSOEVER, I WILL HAVE YOU ARRESTED FASTER THAN YOU CAN FLEE!”
Silver took Blaze’s bag and retrieved everything he stole from me. Silver helped me up and offered me a ride to his place to change out of my dirt-covered clothes. I asked Bonbon to tell my parents about what happened and to not worry about me. Bonbon agreed to do so and left for my house. Blaze ran away in a fit of rage and ran for the nearest bus stop with only the collective amount of lunch money he stole from other students. I got in and apologized to Silver for tracking dirt on his aportry. Silver said it was ok since he could clean it up later as they drove to Silver’s mansion.
Much later Silver and I arrived at the gate of a huge blue mansion with a red crescent moon symbol on it. Silver entered his access code into the keypad and the gates opened. Silver continued driving up the road to his home and parked in his personal garage and opened the passenger door for me. I was flattered by Silver’s chivalry and followed Silver to the foyer. As we entered the foyer, Silver’s father greeted us. “Welcome home Chance, I see you brought a guest,” he said warmly,
“This is Lyra,” Silver introduced, “Some jerk shoved her into Roseluck’s garden and-”
“Say no more son,” his father interjected as he approached Lyra, “Not to worry young lady, we have a private changing area in my wife’s sewing room, and feel free to help yourself to some of the clothes in there. Silver you know the way so I leave your friend in your hands,”
I followed Silver up the stairs and down the hall until we reached a door with the words “sewing room” on it and Silver and I both went in. Silver showed me his mom’s winter line and told me to feel free to choose whatever I wanted. I looked at all the outfits on display until a teal women’s thick wool trench coat with a lighter green scarf caught my eye, The outfit under it also caught my eye, it was a dark blue dress with sapphires embroidered near the waistline and around the straps and black tights with black boots. I took the outfit and Silver told me he would bring my dirty clothes to the maid station while I changed. I took my clothes off in the stall and slid them under the door to Silver and he handed them to the maid that was waiting outside the room. Silver decided to head to his room and catch up on his homework.
A bit later, Silver’s mom entered her sewing room and was surprised to see the changing room was in use. She knocked on the door and I was a bit nervous. I finally finished changing and opened the door. At first Silver’s mom was about to call security until she got a good look at me. “That outfit looks very lovely on you um...” she trailed off as she didn’t know my name.
“I’m Lyra,” I said nervously, “Silver, invited me here,”
Silver’s mom called him and asked him if what I said was true. Silver told her about the incident with Blaze and explained why I was wearing part of her Winter Line. Silver’s mom understood and asked if my parents knew I was here. I told her I sent my best friend to tell them. I then suddenly recognized who Silver’s mom was. “Wait aren't you Ruby Style, the famous fashion designer?” I asked while trying to contain my excitement.
“I am,” she laughed, “but that's just my stage name. My real name is Silver Flare.”
“I been meaning to ask,” I realized, “why do you all have Silver as a first name?”
“Well actually, ‘Silver’ is just our surname,” Silver explained, “Our family’s roots started in feudal Japan so naturally our last names are always first and our first names are last,”
“Ah, that explains a lot,” I nodded in understanding.
Silver’s father then called everyone to the living room to see the news.
Silver, Flare, and I ran to the living room and silver’s father explained why he called them here. “Chance, have you seen the news yet?” he asked.
Silver said no and his father turned the tv on as an urgent news report came up. “This just in,” announced the reporter, “the heiress to the Rich Bargens company has been seen close to the brink of death in a bloody cardboard box covered in glass shards. Eyewitnesses claimed to have seen a boy with a red buzz cut near the scene.” A rough image of the perpetrator then flashed onto the screen. Silver thought the image looked familiar, but couldn’t place it. “The police have noted everything the victim had on her was stolen and a strong palm mark was left on her right arm,” continued the reporter, “There is no sign of the accused, but currently the victim is safely resting in the ER. We now go to Filthy Rich for a statement,”
The screen changed to Filthy Rich confronting a bunch of reporters. “This is truly a devastating ordeal to see my own daughter in critical condition.” he stated sadly before a look of anger took over his face, “All I have to say to the assailant is if they ever catch you I will personally make you pay.”
Silver’s father turned off the tv for a moment of silence in hope of Diamond’s recovery. Silver recognized the size of the palm mark, but could not specify if it belongs to who he thought it did. Silver’s father noticed Silver recognized something about the victim and asked if he knew anything. Silver told his father about what happened at school today and also told him he thinks Blaze might be the assailant but was not completely positive since a lot of men have grips that strong.
Silver went back to his room to catch up on his homework while Flare asked me to come back to her sewing room to discuss something. Flare told me I looked good in the outfit I currently had on and proposed a deal. She offered me early access to each of her lines if I modeled them for her. I was more than happy to accept, especially since I would be spending more time with Silver, though I kept that last part to myself.
I noticed it was getting late and asked if Silver could drive me home. Flare insisted on letting me stay over for the night and Silver could drive me to school in the morning. I agreed and gave Flare my home phone number. She dialed the number and put it on speakerphone. After a minute of waiting, my dad picked up the phone and answered, “Heartstrings Residence.”
“Hello, is this Lyra’s father?” asked Flare.
“Speaking,” my dad said unsurely.
“I’m calling to let you know that your daughter is safe and will be staying over since its so late,” informed Flare.
“Oh, thanks for letting me know. My wife will be glad to hear that after the news about that poor girl,” Dad said sadly.
“We saw that too and she was the daughter of my husband's biggest investors,” Flare Sympathized.
“Well have a safe night,” said dad.
Flare hung the phone up and showed me to the guest room. I placed my bag on the queen sized bed and Flare said goodnight before leaving for the night. I passed out on the bed and reflected on the events of today and how lucky I was at the prospect of finally finding the perfect guy.
