“Pinkie Pie, don't fret it's not like this is the end of the world or anything.” spoke Rainbow Dash.

“You don't understand Rainbow! If she doesn't pass this test, who knows what might happen! She could be kicked from our school. Oh that would be horrible, terrible, oh Rainbow I have to DO something. I can't just stand here and do nothing.” replied Pinkie Pie holding the locks of her curly pink hair within her hands, holding it tight and pulling down. Her eyes widened in fear and worry. One of her friends was going through something traumatic and there was absolutely nothing she could do to help. Oh dear....

“You worry too much, Pinkie. If you need me I'll be out on the soccer field. I'm sure Sunset will let us know how she did afterwards.” said Rainbow Dash as she waved towards Pinkie, whose eyes were still glued to the window of the classroom.

She knew how important this was, sure she wasn't as good as Twilight when it came to tests, but she knew they were important. This wasn't just any test though. This test would determine if Sunset Shimmer would be staying at Canterlot High. Sure, after everything that had happened after she went all evil and stuff, she could understand why the school wanted her to take this kind of test, to see if she had truly changed. It was just the thought of losing her new friend that made her sad. She didn't want that, she was sure none of the others wanted it either, so why did she even have to take such a thing? That's it....She had enough of it. She was going to burst right through that door and help her. After all it never said she wasn't allowed help. With a grin on her face, she kicked open the door without a second's thought.

“Pinkie Pie?” questioned Sunset Shimmer holding her eraser by the tip of her lips as she was concrating on one of the many questions on friendship and all that kind of stuff. What she had learned and what were her goals in life, all sorts of questions but it really didn't matter. This test wouldn't prove that she had changed, she was the only one that could prove that. She looked up towards Pinkie Pie, she was sure she had a reason to suddenly come bursting through the door but as to why, she had no clue. Though this was Pinkie Pie, so for all she knew there might not be a reason other than to be with a friend.

“Hey Sunset, how's the test?” she smiled, acting all innocent.

“Not too bad, actually. Though to tell you the truth, Pinkie, I don't think this test really matters.” began Sunset.

Pinkie looked to her as her eyes widened and she had that look of shock and awe on her face as she let out that “Ah”

“Oh course it matters! If you don't pass, you might not be able to stay here at Canterlot high, and considering all we've been through, I nor the others want you to go anywhere else. You're part of the team now.” smiled Pinkie Pie as she placed a hand upon Sunset's shoulder.

“Hey, don't worry your tail off now, I'll be okay. Even if I fail this silly test, we can still be friends, a test can't break a bond like friendship. Even I know that.” smiled Sunset.

Pinkie Pie couldn't help herself, she sobbed and embraced Sunset in a big hug. “Oh I'm so glad to hear you...” sobbed Pinkie, “say that, I just was so worried...and I wanted to help my friend. The thought of losing you was horrible.” explained Pinkie Pie.

Sunset Shimmer stood up from her chair and wrapped her arms around Pinkie, to return the embrace as she patted her back softly and held her in her arms.

“There there, let it all out.”

Pinkie Pie continued to cry. She just couldn't help it, the thought of losing a friend, espicially after they had just become friends was too much to handle. She couldn't let a test take Sunset away from them. She managed to stop as she wiped the tears from her eyes as she looked towards Sunset looking her in the eyes.

“Promise me you'll pass though? I mean....it is important that you know this stuff.” smiled Pinkie wanting to encourage her.

“Don't you worry yourself Pinkie, I was the pride of Canterlot High, there isn't a test I couldn't pass. After all I've already passed the hardest test of all.” smiled Sunset.

“Oh? What test would that be?” questioned Pinkie.

Sunset Shimmer smiled as she looked back and forth and then looked towards Pinkie Pie. “The test of friendship of course.” smiled Sunset.

“Oh yeah that! Come mere you!” she smiled hugging her tighter.

“Pinkie....a bit too tight.”

“Oops, how's this?” she questioned as she hugged her normally.

“That's just right. Oh and Pinkie, look.” instructed Sunset as she held up the test and on it was that oh so bright sign to the end of a day. It was 100% percent with a “Passed” on the very top. Then Pinkie Pie squealed with joy and hugged her tighter again, and Sunset Shimmer couldn't help but giggle alongside her, it was so good to see her so happy and so like Pinkie Pie. She knew she had a long way to go, but she was so glad to have friends like her, that would worry over something so simple as a test.

Sunset Shimmer smiled towards Pinkie Pie as the two decided to go see how Rainbow Dash was doing, after all she had a big game tonight. It was time for the both of them to cheer her on, though it wasn't like she needed much encouragement but still it was the thought that counted.

"Woo! Go Rainbow!" cheered Pinkie Pie loud and proud from up in the stands. Sunset Shimmer sat right down next to Pinkie Pie with drinks for the both of them to share. She couldn't help but wonder about her future here as a member of Canterlot High. She couldn't help but sigh to herself. She knew she had a long way to go and a lot to prove, but she felt a hand resting on her skirt, looking over to see Pinkie Pie smiling back at her now.

"Silly....you worry too much." It was almost like Pinkie Pie knew what she was thinking....

Author's Note

Thanks to everyone who read this. This was originally something I wrote for the January ship for the Pinkie Pie group, but not sure if it works, but I am happy with it so posting it anyways.

Let me know if you would like to see more one shots from me as this one was rather fun to write.
