It all began a long, long time ago, when the earth ponies, the pegasi, and the unicorns were still enemies.

They were fighting each other in many wars, killing and hating each other. Each passing day, their hatred increased, and they used all the strategies they could think of. The unicorns even created the most powerful magic, dark magic and necromancy. With this magic, they were beginning to win the war. However, the dark magic they were using fed on the sins of the ponies, on their hatred, and on their impure hearts, leading to the creation of a powerful shapeshifting creature made of shadows, calling itself Arachno. The monster’s power was unimaginable. The weapons did not have any effect on him, the magic was useless, and even the most powerful unicorn did not stand a chance.

His dark powers allowed him to corrupt the spirit of the ponies, leading them to evil and increasing his strength. It took him only few hours to take over the lands, and he made a big castle touching the clouds. Then he used his powers to cover the skies with dark magic, plunging the lands into an eternal darkness. The ponies’ suffering was his joy and he loved breaking their spirit.

However, when the ponies were losing all hope, the three factions established a truce to fight together against the monster, they joined their forces and went to the castle where… they were utterly defeated.

Even when they had all accepted their fate, one unicorn tried to continue the fight. The unicorn was good at magic but no matter how strong the magic was, she was useless against the being made of darkness.

But, something happened. Before Arachno could give the fatal blow, the earth ponies, the pegasi, and the unicorns joined their hearts and their magic to the fallen unicorn. Their last hope created a new kind of pony, a pony who had wings and a horn, an alicorn.

With her new power, the alicorn attacked and was able to hurt the dark creature. Her magic could disintegrate the body of Arachno, her magic was pure without any sin, only hope. She was incorruptible due to her pure heart.

The fight lasted for three days when the alicorn finally used all her magic to do an ultimate spell destroying the evil creature; but the spell also cost her life, and in her last moments, she hoped that ponies could understand each other.

However, the three factions, after agreeing to never use dark magic ever again and forbidding it, ceased the truce and fought again in endless wars. They erased from history the first alicorn and the mighty beast and never talked about it, only wanting to forget. But ignorance never helps.

“Finally, after all this time, I have returned.”

In a dark cave, water drops falling from the stalactites could be heard. Only one ray of light was inside the cave, showing a big stone statue of some kind of monster which had been damaged. It had long horns on the head, a face where with only the eyes and a mouth, no ears, no nose. It had big claws, and a long tail without any feet. The cave was silent. Nothing could be heard except the water drops. Suddenly, away from the ray of light, a black smoke began to gather, forming a big black ball. After a few seconds, two white circles opened before becoming red. After that, a mouth with the interior glowing white appeared. The ball expended and soon formed the body of the creature represented by the statue. He was tall.

“Finally, after all this time, I have returned,” the monster said before smiling. He looked around him and growled. “Is this… my castle? There is almost nothing left except for this statue. And all of this because of that damned alicorn! Whatever. The fools thought it would be easy to destroy me, but as long as there is hate or dark magic, I will not disappear. However, I must say that it took me some time to return. With so many wars, I should have been here much sooner. Don’t tell me that the three factions are at peace now… no, it has to be something else, they could never find peace,” he said before turning over his statue. He admired its face. He approached his right hand to touch the statue, but when the ray of light touched him, he felt pain and retracted his hand immediately, and saw smoke escaping from where the sunray touched him.

“WHAT!? I… I feel alicorn magic! It’s impossible, I am sure she died at the end of our fight! Is she… No, she is dead, I can’t feel her magic signature. But then why do the sun rays have alicorn magic? Is there a new alicorn?” Arachno thought. He had to know. He closed his eyes and concentrated, clearing his mind, and a purple crystal ball appeared in his left palm. He opened his eyes and saw the orb floating in front of him, he touched it with one of his fingers when suddenly, images appeared, showing Equestria from the sky. “Now, I recognize this place even after all these years. It has changed a lot, I can see that there are more houses than before, more towns and… WHAT!?” he shouted, seeing an earth pony and a unicorn talking to each other, with big smiles on their faces. At first, he thought they were some traitors who wanted peace, but then he saw more of them, a pegasus and an earth pony, a unicorn and a pegasus. All were having a good day, together, like the war never happened.

“No… So, I was right, those damn ponies are living in peace. This is why I have much less power, there is less hate, less darkness in this realm. I had better watch all the changes that occurred. My power is weakened and if there is really an alicorn, I don’t stand a chance. When she died I thought I would return quickly and that this time there will be no one to STOP ME!” he shouted before breaking stalactite to pieces with a punch. “No, I have to stay calm, I must watch how the world evolved and think of a plan.”

Yeah, I know it's short, but don't worry it's because that's only the prologue , the next chapters will be longer around 2000 words or more. I hope you'll like the story. Also, it may take me some time to update the story because I'm really busy in real life and on other websites.
