Bonus Chapter: Flash Drive vs...

Flash Sentry, Sandalwood, Microchip, and the newest member of Flash Drive, Gizmo, looked around the gym at the other bands and just shook their heads after the warning from Vice Principle Luna about a sudden out break of mid-life crisis and few lost bets. "Do you guys think we should go easy on them?" Gizmo asked.

"You do and it's detention for a week." Coach Iron Will said as he passed them.

"There's that and two of the bands actually have songs still on the radio." Flash said as he pointed to one band and said, "Passion" and then pointed to the one Iron Will had just joined, "and Mystery Meat. So we're up against at least two very good bands."

"Don't look now, but things just got worse." Microchip said pointing to another band walking in.

"Dude, let's just get ready." Sandalwood said as he walked over to a place on the bleachers. "With any luck we'll hold our own and they just want to prove they can still do it."

"Normally it would be my sister doing this, but due to the circumstances involved with these auditions me and Dean Cadence from Crystal Prep will be judging which band will be playing at the Valentines Day Dance instead. Each band gets to play two songs each." Luna said before walking over and joining Cadence at a table. "The first band will be 'Brother Blues'. How you two lost a bet with Grogar I'll never know."

"Would you believe it involved us either doing this or talking three of your students into selling us a rare Stradivarius guitar?" Tirek asked as several hired musicians got ready.

"He's right, letting Grogar Jr. record a video of them would be cheaper." Octavia said, pointing to said lawyer's son, as her and Vinyl Scratch sat down on the bleachers. "Stradivarius's cost millions and the guitars are even harder to find."

"When your ready." Luna said.

With That the band began playing as Tirek and Sombra stepped up to the microphones.

They then went into their second song.

"Thank you." Cadence said as Luna weakly asked why her, "Next we have 'Apples'... You guys didn't really bother with thinking up a cleaver name did you?"

"More like it was the only name we could agree on." Northern Spy said as Big Mac, Breaburn, and Caramel got ready. "For the record I wasn't involved in the bet that resulted in this."

"Given the fact that Big Mac has delivered apple cider in a dress before I'm betting it was him." Luna said. "Just start when your ready."

Northern Spy just nodded to Caramel on the drums before stepping up to the microphone.

For the next song Northern Spy traded his guitar for a saxophone as Big Mac stepped up to the microphone and Caramel rang a bell.

"Thank you." Luna said. "Next we have, and I can't believe you two are willingly doing this, 'Passion'."

"Luna, me and Chrysi are just feeling nostalgic and her youngest three wanted to try." Celestia said as she stepped up to the microphone with her guitar while Chrysalis stepped up to the other one before checking on her two youngest sons, Thorax and Pharynx, and her youngest daughter Pupa as they got their instruments ready.

"You can start when your ready." Cadence said before Luna said anymore.

Before they started their second song Chrysalis gave her children a smile and said, "After this we'll take Quackers and go get ice cream sweeties, and yes, I'll get you a frozen yogurt Thorax." She then stepped back up to the microphone.

"Thank you." Cadence said and had to fight to keep from squealing at how cute Pupa was as she took her mother's hand and carried her stuff animal off the stage with her.

"Next we have Octavia and Vinyl Scratch, who are actually students here." Luna said as she looked at some of the others who weren't.

"Is there an issue with that?" Octavia ask as she plugged in her new electric cello into Vinyl's DJ mixing table.

"Not with you." Luna said, "You can begin when your ready."

Octavia then looked at Vinyl and gave her a nod to single to her that they were pulling out the big guns for this one.

"Thank you." Cadence said. "Next we have Mystery Meat."

"I'm still trying to figure out why you would be auditioning for a high school dance." Luna grumbled.

"My daughter found one of my old records and begged me to." Filthy Rich said as he stepped up to the microphone as Iron Will, Carrot Cake, Dr. Whooves, and Sterling Silver got ready with Spoiled Rich, Nurse Redheart, and Cup Cake as their female vocals. "Everyone else either wanted to prove that we still had it or thought it sounded fun."

They instantly went into their next song with out missing a beat.

Flash looked at his band mates and they quickly huddled after that. "I say we go with our first song, but switch the second to the version we been playing around with because we are going to need our A game after that."

"Think it's ready man?" Microchip asked.

"Dude, it's now or never." Sandalwood said.

"I'm in." Gizmo added.

"Then let's do this." Flash said as he lead them towards the stage.

"Thank you." Luna said as Mystery Meat left the stage. "Next we have Flash Drive."

Flash Sentry didn't even say a thing as he stepped up to the microphone and waited for Gizmo to start them off with his DJ setup and keyboard.

Flash Drive didn't miss a beat as the other two came in and they gave it everything they had.

"Thank you" Luna said as she stood up and said "We will have our decision in a few minutes."
