“Come on guys, SHOW SOME HUSTLE!”

The clock was ticking. Everyday, Night Fang tried to have his team ready for any and everything that was to come, Thing is, That something, was Loki. Could he really get his ragtag team to work together in time for the battle against his evil little brother. Everyday, new problems would arise within the team, hell Night Fang even had a shiner from confronting Blackheart, with Loki's team however, they were like a well oiled machine and looked unbeatable, much to Night Fang's annoyance. One night Night Fang threw down his clipboard and walked away in anger from what he called 'not trying' causing his team to worry. Blackheart however wasn't having any of it as he took the initiative from Night Fang and worked the team into shape, even gaining an admirer in the process.

Next day

As Blackheart walked towards the school that day, he could have sworn he heard someone crying at the side of the school and decided to investigate the noise, but what he found, it made him angry. As he made a beeline for the two boys who were beating someone up and chased them off from the person they had ganged on, when one had stayed behind to confront the teen who had drove them off, Blackheart threw a brick at the guy and got him square in the face causing him to scurry away in a hurry leaving a fuming Blackheart and the crying girl causing Blackheart to sigh at the sight as he knelt to her level and took her hands in his and bring her face to face with him.

"it's ok, your safe now..."

The girl's crying stopped slightly to get a good look at her saviour and blushed when she realised who had saved her from the bullies.

"Blackheart"

Blackheart instantly placed the voice to the face and went an even brighter red at who he had saved from a beating just now.

"Sonata, what are you doing out here?"

Sonata shrugged making Blackheart sweat drop at Sonata's innocence, after a few minutes of pondering why she was there, with a click of her fingers, she remembers why she came to find him.

"Oh yea, Night Fang sent me to come find you, the 1st challenge has been posted on the notice board, it's a music contest."

Blackheart nods only to realise he still had a hold of Sonata's hand, he quickly let go with both of them blushing the colour of a red traffic light at the realisation while an awkward silence descended upon them until Sonata speaks up.

"Hey, if your not doing anything later, want to get a drink at Sugar Cube Corner?"

Without hesitation, Blackheart nodded with a small smile just as the bell rung for the next class to begin making the two sigh.

"Well I guess I'll see you later then Sonata."

Just after saying that, Blackheart was about to walk away in dejection until Sonata shouted to the teen.

"Blackheart, wait up."

Blackheart turned round to face the ditzy girl head on just as she tripped up over her own feet and crashed into Blackheart, sending the two to the ground in a precarious position with their faces inches from each other, besides from blushing the colour equivalent of a tomato, Sonata smiled sweetly at the boy under her making Blackheart smile for the first time without it being evil at the girl on top of him, that moment was about to be ruined in 3...2...1.

"SONATA DUSK, GET OFF BLACKHEART RIGHT NOW"

Sonata jumped up half a mile with a loud yelp as she meekly looked at a fuming Adagio, the older girl took Sonata's hand and dragged her away from a dumbstruck Blackheart who had been so close to kissing her, with that in mind and sad smile on his face, he walked away to his history class with his head held down.

In the classes

As Blackheart noted down the history behind the crystal empire and their legendary crystals, something caught his eye outside the classroom window where the girls gym class was taking place, it was Sonata running in gym shorts and a black tank top which hugged to her perfectly making Blackheart sigh and also took note of every curve Sonata had while admiring her from a distance.

"Mr. Blackheart, if your done being a horn dog, I asked you a question,"

Blackheart went beet red at the call, he had been caught out by his history teacher causing the class to laugh as he tried to make himself invisible by sliding under his desk.

Outside with the girls

As the girls stretched themselves out ready to do cross country, Aria was the first to spot a certain boy staring or more ogling her little sister from his classroom making her sigh with a knowing smirk before tapping Sonata on the shoulder to get her attention about the new revelation.

"You do realise you have your boyfriend looking at you from his class window."

This caught Adagio's attention as well, as she moved Sonata away before giving the cutthroat motion to Blackheart before she led her little sister towards the school gate where everyone was waiting on the three girls.

Later

After getting showered and changed after her gym class, Sonata checked the notice board and saw a few things advertising fall formal and other events until she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist and lift her off the ground causing her to scream in laughter and surprise, as she found it was Blackheart who had lifted her up, as he turned Sonata to face him, she saw pure joy etched on his face making the two hold each other close in a tight embrace but as they pulled away slightly, Adagio appeared from nowhere and split the two apart and pinned Blackheart against the wall.

"YOU DON'T DESERVE MY LITTLE SISTER, IF I EVER CATCH YOU NEAR HER AGAIN I'LL MAKE YOUR LIFE A LIVING NIGHTMARE YOU SON OF A BITCH."

Blackheart sighed in defeat after Adagio let him go before he walked away, breaking Sonata's heart before Adagio turned to her little sister with a softened look but Sonata was genuinely angry with her eldest sister and boy was Sonata going to let her sister know it.

"You have no right Adagio"

Adagio felt a pang in her chest as she looked at the younger siren who was seething and crying at the same time which was tearing Adagio apart but as she tried comforting Sonata she slapped Adagio which stunned her the eldest sister silent as Sonata spoke with even more anger in her tone.

"You're just jealous that a boy genuinely loves me unlike Loki, because unlike you, I'm gonna fight to keep Blackheart, whereas you just let Loki become a siren and walk right into Midnight Waves arms."

Sonata had struck a chord with her sister as Adagio fell to her hands and knees and began sobbing, causing Sonata to take pity on her sister with a hand on her big sister's shoulder.

Later that day back at Sunset's house

Walking through the hallway upstairs, Aria noticed her little sister humming a tune to herself happily while changing into a smart t-shirt which was a burgundy button up added with a medium skirt and leggings. Seeing as it was cold outside before putting on a pair of ugg boots that Night Fang had bought for her before he went back to Equestria with Twilight last month. Deciding to enter the room unannounced, Aria opened the door to her sister lolling her head from side to side while now humming a melody as she tapped Sonata on the shoulder making the younger sibling yelp in surprise at her older sister's sudden appearance.

"Aria what are you doing in here?"

Aria was at this point sat at the edge of her sister's bed before speaking up towards Sonata.

"You really like Blackheart enough to do what you did to our sister?"

With the hint taken from Aria's tone, Sonata put her hair brush down with an agitated sigh before turning to Aria with defences up.

"She tried imposing herself on the guy I'm seeing by intimidating Blackheart and saying he wasn't good enough for me."

Aria sighs, that did sound like their eldest sister, as she stands from the bed and walks to the dresser to address Sonata further, she needed to say what was on her mind.

"She's just looking out for you Sonata and yea, she went overboard slightly but she's still sore on how her and Loki broke up."

Sonata nodded in understanding while Aria continued.

"Loki meant the world to Adagio, it hurts hearing Adagio cry in her sleep every night she sleeps in their bed, I just feel she'll never be able to love again if she carries on like this."

As if on cue they hear the downstairs door open and people speaking before feet walked up the stairs and a knock was heard on the bedroom door.

"Sonata, Blackheart's downstairs for you."

Night Fang called from the other side of the door before heading back downstairs, only to find Adagio sat on the couch glaring daggers at Blackheart, as he sat patting his hands against his knees which was cancelling out the silence brilliantly. The sound of feet coming down the stairs announced the arrival of Sonata Dusk, who literally jumped onto Blackheart the moment she entered the door making Night Fang chuckle at adorable she was being before saying to the two.

"Have fun you two.”

Sonata literally dragged Blackheart out of his seat on the couch and out the door without a moments hesitation leaving Adagio alone with Night Fang and Aria who had turned towards the siren who was still seething at the thought of Blackheart dating her little sister, that was until Night Fang sat at the side of her and spoke.

"When we find a way to break the curse held over Loki, I guarantee he will come to you."

Adagio began to tear up at Night Fang's words before sobbing into the males shoulder.

"I miss my goof ball Night Fang." Adagio said slightly muffled against Night Fang's shoulder causing Night Fang to smile warmly at the girl pressed against his shoulder for comfort.

With Sonata and Blackheart

"Seeing as I'm the reformed bully, it feels weird having people like me instead of Loki since he turned bad."

Blackheart was saying during a conversation at Sugarcube Corner he was having with Sonata over a hot coffee and fresh pastries. As the two sat like any normal couple, they laughed, they cried and told each other their likes and dislikes. Once Blackheart paid for the coffee.

The Park

Taking a stroll through a park with the sun lowering to announce late afternoon in the city was the perfect setting to wind down the date, Blackheart watched Sonata chasing pigeons around and when he least suspected it, Blackheart was pushed into the park's pond by Sonata, causing the girl to giggle before it turned into full blown laughter as Blackheart had a duck perched on his head. The avian quacked without a care in the world while the male spat out water from his mouth like a fountain. With the sun setting in Canterlot to announce the night was rolling in, Sonata sighed catching Blackheart's attention while the couple was on the nearest park bench.

"What's up?"

Sonata looked at Blackheart with a sad smile before taking his hand and asking a question she needed to ask.

"Do you look at me like I'm stupid?"

This caught Blackheart by surprise, as he looked at his tearing up Sonata Dusk, his heart almost broke into a thousand pieces, how could something this adorable, this beautiful, be bullied? The thought alone made him sick to his stomach, then he remembered, it was something he had said in passing years ago when he was the resident jackass, not Loki. With something new in his heart now he was a changed man, he spoke.

"Sonata...look at me"

Sonata looked up, as Blackheart gently cupped her chin in his hand and stared into her eyes, when he stared into them, he needed a GPS to find his way out, they were mesmerising to him, as he spoke, he meant every word.

"You're not stupid Sonata, you just don't understand things if it isn't explained properly and I'm sorry I ever bullied you from way back when, I should have never done it…"

A small tear soaked smile appeared on Sonata's face at the revelation and apology before the male continued while rubbing the back of his head with a blush plastered on his face.

"...And besides, your too adorable to be bullied, ignore the ass hats and me from the past, because right now, I think your special just for giving me the chance to love you."

Sonata blushed a slight pink before finding her lips pressed softly against Blackheart's, they stayed like that until the need for air rung out in the form of Blackheart's phone playing 'Do you know (ping pong song)', on the other end was Sunset Shimmer who sounded both frustrated and panicky as she nearly yelled down the phone at Blackheart.

"Hello?, Sunset, what’s wrong"

"Blackheart, you better wrap up your date pretty quickly, Adagio is going crazy and is on her way with Night Fang and she is feeling MURDEROUS, so get here quick."

Blackheart's eyes nearly shrunk into the back of his head as he looked at Sonata with a gulp before picking the phone up again. His worst fears were confirmed when he heard a woman shouting in the background and the sound of a car tearing away down the street. The moment he hung up and ran to his car with Sonata in tow, a midnight blue Chevrolet screeched to a halt in front of Blackheart's car. and if things couldn't get any worse, out came Adagio Dazzle with a crowbar, that one sight alone made Blackheart put his foot down on the gas and tear away from the Chevy in front of him, by going in the other direction while the Chevy gave chase.

"Sonata, I'm really sorry this date got cut short, I just never expected your sister to go ballistic"

Sonata sighed angrily, worrying Blackheart as they continued down the motorway with a sense of panic in his eyes. Another reason to panic was while he was driving, he spotted Adagio trying to swing for Blackheart's car with her weapon, and knocked the wind mirror clean off with her first swipe, this caused Blackheart to yell in anger out of his window.

“YOU'RE PAYING FOR THAT YOU CRAZY BITCH.”

When Blackheart saw his chance, he drove straight to the first exit he saw towards the streets where Sunset Shimmer's house was.

Back at Sunset Shimmer's

Blackheart's car skidded to a halt on the front lawn, As Sonata quickly got out of the car just as Night Fang's car pulled up with a steaming mad Adagio, who dragged Blackheart out of his car before he made a run for it while Adagio chased him with the crowbar in hand. Night Fang and Sunset watched on sighing comically before heading inside, Love was a dangerous thing, if you were Adagio's sisters.

That Night

After giving up on sleep entirely because of his ribs were killing him from the beating he received from Adagio, Blackheart got up to wash his face in his own bathroom sink until a knock on the door broke him from his task as a small voice called.

"Blackheart, it's me."

Sonata called from behind the door causing Blackheart to smile inwardly. As he walked over to the door in nothing but his boxers, he opened it to the most adorable sight in history, he saw a half asleep Sonata stood in her kitten pyjamas, stood outside his door and with stuffed bear in her arms.

"What's up Nata?"

Sonata rubbed her eyes to fully focus on the guy in front of her, she was glad she did, as she copped on eyeful of the toned teen in front of her making her go bright red before stepping into the room and stating her intentions while playing with her hair.

"I..I..wanted to know if I could sleep in here tonight, I couldn't sleep."

Blackheart nodded, as Sonata walked to the bed and collapsed onto it from exhaustion, the male smiled at his girlfriend as he walked towards the bed and tucked Sonata in on her side before climbing into bed himself. Once a a music track began playing and closing his eyes, his peace was interrupted, as he felt a lump move closer to him and wrap herself around him meaning one thing, Sonata was clinging to him while breathing softly on his neck, this was gonna be a peaceful night for the both of them.
