Up to the coldest, highest point in the Northern Equestria mountains, lives the long forgotten race of mountain ponies. These ponies are a race of proud warriors and artisans both capable of wielding and creating heavy blades of war. But just a few of them learn the ability of alchemy. And it is not just potions and poisons, but handmade spells as well. And the time has finally come for one of these alchemists to go out in the world and see what has changed.

Mystogan is that one mountain pony stallion who volunteered himself to do just that. With both his fighting and alchemy skills, the twenty-four-year-old mountain stallion spreads his dual pairs of wings and flies down from the mountain summit into a world that he certainly did not expect. And once he comes upon Ponyville and Canterlot, he is certainly in for quite a new life experience. One thing on his mind when he sees other ponies though is:

"How did they get so small...?"
