Acquittal: Fimception

1:00AM...

Storm and Lizzy got back on the road and were making progress before they were forced to stop to avoid a passing bullet shooting off from the right! Then with a bang they saw the guy in front of them get shot by a shot from the left!

Storm got out, there was no stopping the madness! Who was the killer? He looked around and saw a man he met very recently... Sebastian Donovan! And he was holding a gun!

"Donovan, what is this?" shouted Storm before the man got arrested.

===BACK AT COURT===

"My God you people won't leave me alone," said Judge Thompson. "Okay who's on trial now?"

"Me," said Donovan.

"Okay who's the prosecutor?"

"Me," said Donovan.

"Aye aye ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyye?"

"Ah yes yes yes yes yes," said the court.

"WTF" shouted Storm. "Why are you prosecuting yourself?!"

"Mr Sente have you forgotten my creed?" Sebastian was angry that Storm seemed to have forgotten. "I pursue the truth, the only one who can solve this devilishly complex crime is me. Because I'm the killer."

"Okay Prosecutor Defendant Donovan make your opening statement," said Judge Thompson.

"Okay My Lord" said Donovan, and Thompson was clearly happy to be the one being addressed as "My Lord" again. "The crime was actually simple, I shot a man who was standing in the middle of the road, now I call Detective Rivers to repeat that as a testimony.

Detective Rivers came up again.

"Objection!" shouted Storm. "The victim was shot in the left side! This is... a contradiction!"

"But how can you know he wasn't looking the other way?"

"Because of my and Lizzy's testimony."

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAGH" shouted Rivers.

"Objection!" shouted Donovan. "Rivers stop retarded."

"Wat?" said Storm.

"It's obvious how it happened," said Donovan. "I present the trash can!"

"What is that." said Storm.

"As you can see there is a bullet hole in the can and a dent on the other side"

"I think when I missed the victim it shot through the trash can but then it reflected off the other side"

"Then it shot out of the trash can and hit the victim!"

"Objection!" shouted Storm. "But then there should be two bullet holes but there's only one!"

"Yeah, it went out the same hole it made when it went in."

"What even..." said Storm. He looked inside the trash and got an idea. "But wait, why didn't the bullet go through the other side of the trash too?"

"Because it was weak."

"But it also went through the body."

"Barely, only just enough to kill him."

"Oh." said Storm. "We-Well, there's a footprint in the mud that's in here, someone was inside the trash can! He must have shot from inside, that's why there's only one hole!"

"But can you prove it?"

"Yes! With my testimony, cause I heard a gunshot AFTER the bullet past me, and light travels faster than sound so yeah."

"Oooooof!" said Donovan.

The forensics went out to test the footprint and came back.

"We have the results, well not really, we're not sure who exactly left them now because the guy who left it is the same person who left the footprints in case 1!"

"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?" shouted Storm. "That's impossible, that guy's in jail!"

"Then what does this mean?" asked Thompson.

"Release Baron Forest at once, he is not the murderer from that case, I'll figure out who it was later, but release Donovan too because I've also proven that his case is full of shit."

"Okay," said Thompson. "Not Guilty."

The confetti fell but it was not a happy time, Storm almost murdered an innocent man through the death penalty, he must make it up even to him by finding THE REAL KILLER!
