Recounting the past part 1 (Edited)
Marc was walking to school. It was a Saturday so it was closed, but the girls were extremely curious as to Marc's past. So he promised to recount the events that lead to were he is now. Luckily he wasn't doing anything today, so he was heading in to recount his story for them.
He walked past the remnants of the Wonder Colt monument. He took a minute to take in his surroundings.
He played the Friendship Games climax throughout his head. He didn't know why, but that calmed him considerably.
When he was done with that he walked up the stone steps of Canterlot High School. For some reason, it reminds him of the entrance to Canterlot castle from Dawn Saber's reign. And Marc was lucky enough to see it first hand, or hoof, depending which side of the mirror you're on.
Any way, Marc walked up the steps and opened the twin glass doors. Taking in his surroundings.
Marc walked down the hallways of the school leading to the music room. Taking looks round the corner just in case and keeping his pen in hand.
Marc stopped right in front of the door to the music room and inhaled deeply thru his nose. This was not gonna be easy. Remembering something painful never is, and he is going to reopen all his wounds.
He opened the doors and saw the Mane 7, Sombra, the ex Assassins, Ebony and Ivory Wings, VP Luna, and Celestia waiting for him.
They also had a video uplink to the Crystal castle map room in Equestria (Freedom Fighter holo communication device. Very useful, both Twi's were extremely grateful for Marc letting them keep them.) The Mane 6, Alicorn princesses, Pillars of Old Equestria, Shining Armor (His head nearly popped off seeing the reformed Sombra there), and Discord on the other end.
"Hello everyone." Marc said catching their attention.
"Hi, Marc." Sunset said. "So, you're really gonna do this?"
"Yes, a promise is a promise, you all deserve to know the truth." Marc said surely.
"Alright, so where are you gonna start?." Luna asked.
"The day I got my journal." Marc said surely.
Marc P.O.V
I was walking home. I live in a nice red two floor apartment. It has a white staircase on the side leading to the second apartment. I live on the first floor. Next to the house is a straight line of evergreens.
I walked down a simple stone pathway to my house.
When I reached my porch, I saw a 1 foot by 2 feet brown box.
"No return address?" I asked myself examining it.
It read:To: 1075 S creek Road, West chester PA.
For: Marc Wayne Kurtzman.
From: A friend till the end of time.
"Is it Ryan's?" I asked myself.
Deciding not to waste any more time if it is my friend's, I picked it up and carried it inside my house.
I walked into the mudroom and put the box on the bench in the mudroom.
I took off my backpack and placed it on a wooden chair with a broken and taped leg.
"I'm home, Dad." I yelled taking off my red jacket and hanging it on a command hook on the wall.
"Good, do the dishes please." Replied a voice coming from the living room.
"Alright, Dad." I replied. Not even bothering to be snarky like I usually am whenever Dad leads with "Do the dishes." When I get home.
Marc pinched the bridge of his nose with his left hand.
"What is it Marc?" Sunset asked, seeing something was wrong.
"Nothing, just, I miss my parents and brother very much." Marc replied."Back to the story."
I kicked off my shoes and walked into the living room.
I looked to the couch and saw a fat caucasian man with glasses on looking at his Samsung phone. The man was slightly balding, but he had dirty blond hair like me. He had green eyes. He was wearing a gray tee shirt that said "Save the Daleks" with a Dalek on it, he also wore black sweat pants.
"Hey, Marc." The man said looking up from his phone and looking at me.
"Hey Dad." I said casually. This man is my father, Scott Wayne Kurtzman. Age: 40 Year that this is in, last year, 2016.
"Dishes." Dad said looking back at his phone.
"Okay." I said. "Hey, before I do the dishes, can you do something for me real quick?"
"What is it?" Dad asked.
"I got some mail today." I said confusing Dad. "Lemme get it."
Then I walked into the mudroom and got the package. I walked into the living room and put the box on the coffee table.
"Who sent it?" Dad asked putting his phone in his pocket looking at the info box. "A Friend Till The End of Time?"
"I think Ryan sent it, he always says we're friends till the end of time." Marc answered.
"But I thought you said he's to remote to find us?" Dad asked taking out his pocket knife.
"I dunno, can you at least open it?" I asked. Then he started cutting the tape with his knife.
"What do you think I'm doing?" Dad asked.
Inside of it was some sort of gold chest with the Yin-Yang symbol engraved on the front and on top of was the key. The key was gold and the handle was weirdly shaped. It was shaped like the yang symbol.
"Huh, not what I was expecting." I said as part of me was playing out a scene from Joss Whedon's Firefly Season 1 Episode 1: Serenity in my head. (Imma HUGE nerd.)
“What is that?” I asked.
“A chest.” Dad answered snarkally.
“I see that.” I said glaring at him. “I mean, what’s in it? Why was this sent to me? Who sent it?”
”So, not Ryan’s?” Dad asked.
“Nein.” I said, back then, I sometimes replied in foreign languages or phrases.
Dad pulled out the chest and placed it on the coffee table. I took the key and placed it in the lock. I turned the key to the left until I heard the tell-tale click.
”Oh, I wonder if I open this lightning will blast us or evil souls’ll kill us.” I said, referencing to Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Dad rolled his eyes at my reference.
I opened the chest slowly, making sure not to trigger traps if there are any or a prank if this is one.
But I found none, no traps, no pranks, none.
Instead, there was my pen and my journals and Codex.
Also, there was a note written in a foreign language I’ve never seen before, but for some reason, I could read it.
I picked it up to read it, the paper felt rough and dusty.
It read;Hello young Master Kurtzman,
my name is James Edward Worthington. I’m sorry we cannot meat face-to-face. These journals are for you to write in, the one with the weird symbol is an Equestrian communication journal. The other is for your decided use. The Codex? Well, read it in your room and find out. I hope we can meet in person.
Sincerely,
Lord Grand Admiral James Edward Worthington. Head of COL and a Friend Till the End of Time.
My heart was pounding in my chest, I was freaking out.
‘Who the fuck is this guy? What the hell is he talking about? What do I fucking do?!Ah! Stuff the stars and planets up my ass![i/]’ I thought in worry.
Rainbow Dash started snickering loudly, interupting the story.
“What!?” Marc asked angry. “What the buck is so fucking funny?!”
“Stuff the stars and planets up my ass?” Rainbow asked. “Where the buck did you get that from?”
“It’s from Joss Whedon’s Firefly.” Marc answered annoyed.
“Oh.” Rainbow said shutting up.
“And it’s usually said in Mandarin,döng ma?” Marc answered, then he grumbled in Mandarin.
“Language.” Ivory said.
“What’d he say?” Princess Cadence asked.
“Don't wanna know.” Ivory asnswerd.
“Sorry.” Marc apologized.
"You have to do this if you don’t want to Marc.” Sunset said.
“No, if I hafta die, I need my story told.” Marc said.
“Okay.” Sunset said.
