"Raina, Raina, wake up, wake up wake up wake up!"

Raina Delson groaned as she felt someone pushing her towards the side of the bed and loudly yelling in her ear. Opening her eyes she turned to face whoever was bugging her. After a few seconds of waiting for the foggyness to leave her eyes, she could clearly see a young preteen girl with light brown messy hair, dark green eyes and light brown skin.

"Sam, what are you doing?" The older girl asked with a small groan. Raina's adopted little sister continued to push the teen, which was starting to annoy the red head.

"Your going to be late for school", she said with another slightly harder push. Raina could only roll her eyes.

"Squirt, its Sunday, go back to bed", she said turning back onto her side. Then for a brief moment she glanced at her alarm clock, 7[22am, Monday. Raina's eyes boldged out of her head and she bolted out of her bed. "Shit." Was all she could say as she quickly got dressed, not caring who was in the room with her at the moment. After getting on a pair of jeans a clean white shirt and her shoes, she lunged for her door and ran down the hall and vaulted over the banister of her stairs.

Landing on the soft couch she quickly ran into the kitchen and grabbed herself a bagel and a couple of mints, she didn't have time to brush her teeth. After she finished her food she ran back up the stairs four at a time. When she got into the bathroom she quickly got ready for the day. After she checked that she was at least decent for the day Raina ran back into her room where Sam was watching her on her bed.

"Mom and Dad already left for work", Sam said as Raina grabbed her phone and iPod. Raina gave her sister a cocky grin pushing aside a lock of her dark red hair from her green eyes.

"Then I'll just have to run it." Raina grabbed her bag and quickly gave a side hug to Sam.

"See yah later squirt", she said then she ran towards her open window and jumped out from her second story room. Rolling onto the soft green grass she got up and bolted down the road, not looking back to see her sister waving her goodbye.

Raina ran down the street as fast as she could, running past groups of people and vaulting over a couple parked cars. She had ran this root in the past so it wasn't difficult to get to the street that would lead her straight to the school. Sadly the girl stopped in her tracks at the large roadblock that had a few construction workers on the road.

"God damnit", she growled. Looking around Raina tried to find a way past the construction site. Sadly, no matter how hard she tried she couldn't find a way through it.

Looks like your gonna have to take the long way, she thought. Sighing she turned and began to run but stopped in thought. Looking back at the construction site she could still see the straight shot that lead to the school. Only problem was the massive gap between the two sides of the bridge.

Raina was smart enough to know the diffrence between stupidity and awsome. What she was thinking at the moment leaned towards the former rather then the latter. Gritting her teeth she quickly checked her watch and groaned at the time. She didn't want to be late for the fourth time in a single month.

Taking in a deep breath she made her disision. Jumping the concrete dividers, the men who saw her quickly yelled at her to leave, however the light skinned girl didn't listen as she drew more speed towards the gap.

At first Raina didn't think the gap was very far, at least ten feet wide. She soon realized she was dead wrong when she saw the forty foot gap in all its hellish glory. She couldn't stop, her momentum was going to fast for her to slow down. As she got closer and closer she made a quick prayer to whoever would listen. Then she jumped.

For a moment everything seemed to go in slow motion for the girl, as if she were looking through a frame by frame. She could see the ground far below her, the clear blue sky above her, and the other side of the bridge slowly getting close to her. Then she landed with a momentary stumble. For a few minutes Raina could only stare at the impossible distance she just jumped, the workers on the other side couldn't help but stare as well..

Then Raina was broken from her shock by the distant ring of the schools bell. With a muttered curse she once again ran towards the highschool she could now see. Running onto the schools campus, she was disappointed to see that the halls were clear from all students. She made it into one of. The hallways and ran towards her first period class.

"Glad you could finally join us Ms. Delson", said Mr. Doodle with a flat look on his face. Raina was trying to catch her breath from the running, but was thankful the man let her breath before she spoke. Looking to her left Raina could see her classmates all staring at her, she could see her friends amongst the faces.

"Sorry, alarm broke", she said when she could breath properly. Mr. Doodle gestured for her to take her seat. Taking her seat, Raina gave a sigh of exostion. Then she felt a tap on her shoulder from behind. Turning her head Raina could see a girl with light blond hair, green eyes and tanned skin. Raina smiled at her longtime friend AJ sitting behind her.

"Why in tarnation are y'all late RD?" She asked in her Texas accent.

"Tell yah at lunch. Besides, you wouldn't believe me."

For the rest of the period Raina was completely and utterly bored out of her mind. Finally when the bell rang for her to head to her next class she was surprised to see her four other friends standing out in the hall for her and AJ. She was gonna have a lot of explaining to do.
