Twilight and Spike were helping out Applejack in sweet apple acres. Unfortunately for Applejack, in recent times some trees inexplicably began to die and had to be chopped down. Applejack brought them deep within the orchard where Big Mac was cutting down the dead trees with a chainsaw. She handed Twilight and Spike the chainsaws, and she and Twilight got to work, but Spike was concerned.
"Uh, isn't this dangerous?" Spike asked Twilight who quickly turned off the chainsaw.
"It shouldn't be, as long as you're not horsing around" She shouted over the other's chainsaws.
"But what if someone gets cut?"
"Just be careful!" Twilight replied. "These chainsaws are designed to be incapable of cutting ponies." she explained. "And dragons." she added after seeing the horrified look on Spike's face.
Spike got to work and for a while, things were normal. but after a while, he found himself noticing Twilight's fur more and more. Her purple coat began filling every particle in his brain. And how much he wanted to cut it all clean off her body. He looked over at Applejack and Big Mac and again felt a desire to shave them completely bald. Spike's freaky Fred fantasies came to an end though when the group cut down the last dead tree, and they put the chainsaws away. But the ponies fur would not leave his mind...
Later that night, Spike broke into the sweet apple acres barn and looked for a chainsaw. he found one and sneaked into Applebloom's room. With a quiet snicker, Spike got to work...
The following morning, Applebloom woke up and wondered why she felt unusually cold. She looked down and screamed loudly enough to wake up the house. When the others had gotten to her room, Granny Smith fainted. Some maniac had broken in and cut off all Applebloom's fur and mane! Applejack ran to Twilight's castle to tell her...
"...and then she woke up bald!" Applejack explained in a panic.
"That's horrible! I can't imagine who would do something like that. But don't you think its strange?" Twilight said.
"How so?"
"whoever did that had an opportunity to off her, and yet they stuck with shaving her? Strange priorities for a maniac don't you think?"
"More like a mane-iac if you know what i mean!" said Pinkie Pie who suddenly showed up in the room. Spike who was hiding behind a pillar looked at her with anger, then at her mane. her big fluffy mane...
That night, Spike broke into Sugar Cube Corner and snuck into Pinkie's room. He revved up the chainsaw and chop, chop, chop, off with her mane! While he was at it, he went into the babies' room and Mr and Mrs Cakes room and did the same to the sleeping ponies.
The next morning everyone in the building awoke in shock when they saw their mutilated manes. Pinkie took Applejack with her to Twilight's castle.
"Again? What lunatic would want to do this?" Twilight questioned.
"I don't know, but isn't there some way to fix this?" Pinkie complained, as the cold was getting to her.
"Remember when Rarity accidentally washed her mane with remover? Zecora couldn't fix her mane and she had to let it all grow back naturally. The same applies here." Twilight explained. Spike heard nothing after this, lost in thoughts of Rarity's mane and fur and the idea off hacking it off her body. His face split into a demonic grin.
While Rarity was taking a nap midday, Spike broke into Carousel Boutique and found her sleeping quietly on the couch. He revved up his chainsaw, and you know what came next! Unfortunately, Sweetie Belle was home that day and did not approve of Spike shaving her sister. She ran to her room screaming in terror, shut her door, and locked it. At first she felt relieved to had the door between her and that lunatic, but then, the blade of the chainsaw came through the door and cut it down. Spike cornered her, and shaved her.
Sweetie Belle had to drag her fainted sister to Twilight's, as Rarity was NOT prepared to see herself hairless. She was unable to tell Twilight who shaved her out of shock, allowing Spike to shave more ponies.
"This is just gettin' worse and worse!" Applejack thought to herself.
Over the next few weeks, the pattern repeated, of ponies getting shaved at night or midday and being so frightened that they couldn't tell Twilight who did it. But one night, Twilight herself got shaved at the hands of her assistant, leaving the apple family the last ones with their manes. Spike could not wait to do this to them...
He broke into their house once more, being careful not to wake anyone and started with Big Mac. As the large one in the family, he would be impossible to shave if woken. So Spike snuck into his room and cut all his red fur off, and then his mane. Once Big Mac awoke, he was so shocked that he couldn't stop spike from going into Granny Smith's room and doing the same thing to her. She was woken by Big Mac screaming like a howler monkey at the sight of his baldness. She was barely able to fight Spike off of her and as a result, was shaved, leaving Applejack as the only one left in Ponyville who's fur still remained on her body. She was still sound asleep, not even having been woken by Big Mac's screaming. But she knew to lock her door as a clever trap to force Spike to wake her up if he was going to shave her. Needless to say, Spike reached the door and found it unable to open. So he chopped it down the way he had done before. This woke Applejack up and she attempted to stop Spike and his insane efforts to make everypony bald. She fought valiantly, tried desperately to turn off the chainsaw, but Spike somehow knocked her over and made her dizzy, climbed on top of her-
-and shaved her
A few months later, everyone's mane had grown back, and no one could remember why it had disappeared in the first place. No one except Spike...
