Chapters It's been over five years since the great fall of King Sombra that brought peace to Equestria, and all who lived within it. Proud of becoming parents it has blessed both Toren and Starlight to grow in a better understanding of each other as they raise their daughters, who had grown powerful, and full of curiosity to explore the world, and see new sights in wonder of what it all does. In celebration of their second wedding anniversary Toren kindly offered his parents an opportunity to bond with their bundle of chaos as the couple went on their special day that only now as the new King of Canterlot knew about as a secret sanctuary. Walking down a forest together alone the stallion used his tail as a guide while Starlight had her eyes covered by a black cloth that her devious husband used to shield herself from his surprise he had in store. Not wanting to draw attention they both had capes around their necks covering their faces that flowed down their backs showing only parts of their tails, but could still be seen halfway between the two creatures who were tempted to gain something more that has been long overdue by obligations in the castle.
Starlight giggles "Toren where are you taking me?"
With a small smile he levitates her on his back, then walks forward "You'll see"
"Why can't you just tell me?"
"Because it wouldn't be a surprise now would it? And besides it's more fun that way."
She sighs "Like father like son. Are you sure Athena will be okay? I mean she's only five years old, and Atara is three and you know how she is when we are gone to long"
"She'll be fine she’s with her grandparents what could happen?"
"That's what I'm afraid of."
"Don't worry Star I'm sure everything is just fine."
Atara is crying so much that both Discord and Celestia were losing their minds as guards are being thrown everywhere like old rag dolls that were helpless to defend themselves, she yells "Discord where's her bear?!"
"I thought you had it?!", he yells back annoyed
"No I gave it you!"
"Well I don't have it!"
Discord used magic to poof the guards down, the toddler screams using magic and throws her grandfather against the wall, he groans as Celestia sighs as she held her "What do we going to do!?"
Annoyed he growls "I don't know I've never raised children before! What did you do when Toren cried!?"
"I don't remember um..", she gasps "I sang him a song. My mother's lullaby but I don't remember the words. It been years."
Athena tried helped her grandfather by using magic to bring them louder that he yells "Well try something will you! Before she destroys the castle!!"
"I'm trying now you will be quiet and stop yelling at you're making it worse!"she looks at the toddler rocking her "Sshh hush Atara there there its okay sweetheart. Sun and moon over the. No that's not right. Ah."
The filly screams in tears even louder that magic lifts Athena in the air "Grandpa help she's doing it again!", she yells before Discord flew grabbing her.
He smiles "Gotcha chaos, uh oh", he begins to float up the touched the ceiling "Tia!"
Worried the mare looked up "Discord!", as the filly kept crying the draconequs kept yelling her name wanting to get down, almost in tears she rocked the three year old back and forth and began to remember a lullaby, and began to softly sing "Hush now little one. hear my soft words, close your eyes, and dream of light. Dream of love and endless life. small and pure, you've touched, my heart you're mine and more, even if we're far apart. I will never stop loving, I will never forget you, even if you go from my sight….sleep and dream my precious light and you'll see me always, forever. I will be your wings, and protector, always and forever. Always….. for all time."
Celestia watches as Atara falls asleep then Discord goes to her "And you said you didn't remember"
She chuckles "I don't. This one was the one I sang to Toren, it was my lullaby to him, and it just came to me" remembering when she was a mother she sniffs almost crying "Oh Discord it's been so long since I've held a baby, I have missed so much of my sons life the least I can do is be there for his two daughters, for our son that I failed..."
"Tia please, stop punishing yourself, you were trying to do the right thing for our boy. And he's here now, I know you want things differently and you could change it. But if you did Toren wouldn't have meet Starlight, he wouldn't have gotten cursed when he fought against Sombra when he was first defeated, then if that didn't happen Athena wouldn't exist, and neither would Atara" gently he lifts her chin up trying to understand "Do you really want that?"
"Of course not!"
"Then why hold on to it?"
Celestia sighs walking away as she held her granddaughter who was fast asleep "I don't know I guess part of me wants to be a mother again. To hold a baby and to watch it grow."
"Maybe you can because it's already happening.", he says smiling while folding his arms.
She stops instantly then turns around "What?"
Discord looks down and points at her stomach that is still the same "It happened Tia, you're going to be a mother again."
"Wha-are, are you saying that I'm pregnant, we're going to have a baby?"
Discord smiles as he went to her "Luna told me in my dream and being a draconequus you kinda can sense changes especially “chaotic” ones"
Celestia tears up joyfully "I-I can't believe it I'm- I can't even talk. Oh Discord a baby, we're having a baby."
Discord laughs as he holds her close as she still remains holding Athena on her arms still sleeping "Yeah and don't worry my dear this time I'll make sure that everything is just fine. And that I’ll be there every step of the way, and when that day arrives it's all you because knowing me I'll probably cry or faint whichever comes first."
Discord winks at her smirking causing the mare to laugh “Oh Discord what am I going to do with you?”
“Oh I don't know love me forever?”
“We shall see Dizzy. Oh! Wait until Toren finds out. He'll be so excited!”
Discord "I'm sure he will be."
Gently he kisses her on the lips as Athena used her magic to hover above them "A baby? Daddy is going to be a brother! Like me but I'm a sister! How do we tell him?!"
Unsure about the question the couple looked at their granddaughter, they smiled as Discord puts her on his shoulder "Well what do you think we should do my bundle of Chaos? Any suggestions?"
"Hmm", she rubs her head "Um", she pondered for a moment "Oh! I know how about a big party?!"
Celestia smiles "I think that's a great idea", she says as she looked at her then at her husband who smiled back agreeing.
"Alright my dear a party is it! Lets do it!", he says as he threw her up before catching her "Good thinking Chaos!"
She smiles "Thanks grandpa"
Carefully Toren leads his wife to a tree with stone around it, with magic he opened the tree stone carved tunnel and blows fire into a statue that lights the large room showing paintings on stone, stories, legends. In the center laid a stone shaped like a circle. Surrounding the stone table were four stone thrones, and around the painted walls was armor shaped like ponies who have passed away that were covering statues of ponies with names on the bottom of each one them to identify.
Smirking the stallion puts her down with small kiss "Alright Star you can look now. You can take off the cloth."
Blushing she smiles obeying taking it off to see the room "Woah! What is this place?"
"This place is wear all the Great Kings would have their secret discussions, only creatures that were first born of Royalty could open the stone tree to enter this place. It hasn't been opened in years, until now at least since I am the firstborn of the Canterlot reign."
"Were you with them? I mean have you been here before?"
Toren nods "Yes, over 1000 years ago when I was only 100 years old. I befriended a young King, who made me his Knight to protect him. We became very close almost like brothers. His name was Spartan, we would always venture in these woods. One day he took me here. His father and the others kings were having a meeting, we didn't know about the secret tunnel. So we went inside, curiosity got the best of us, but then one of their Knights thought we were spies and he injured Spartan."
"Did he live?", she asks
"Yes. But his father was very angry so much that he placed The Larocks upon him, and banished him. So I went with him and I stood by his side through it all. I could not save him. I watched him slowly die, he grew very weak so much that his body couldn't handle it. The pain was...too much. He told me to...to take his life to save his daughter. It was his dying wish. He gave me his powers and knowledge of his father's plan. He told me to use his gift to stop his father. No matter the cost."
"You used his gift to save his subjects from his father. You did all of it for him, so his death would have honor."
"It wasn't just his honor Star, it was me doing his work that he could have done. He was more than a prince. He was a leader, cared for everyone, sacrificed his very life. And was my greatest friend that I grew to love."
"What happened to the baby?"
Nervous he sighs looking away "I raised her", slowly he turned his eyes to her "His daughter is Cadence."
Starlight looked at him shocked "What?"
"Cadence was the last heir to save the Crystal Empire from Sombra. She was the one destined to be Queen to save her subjects from slavery. Spartans gift involved many things. Future vision, mind control, hearing thoughts, and many more. It was a very rare gift to have, only few were chosen when they are born, I used it when it was needed, for wars, the future, or sometimes it will just happen unexpected by certain events that occur."
"Like with Athena before she was born?"
"Exactly", he sighs "I only wish Spartan was able to see Cadence and how much she has grown and done."
"I’m sorry for what happened to your friend. I can't imagine being able to live with that responsibility and power. I remember a time when I would help my father tend the injured soldiers and how much pain they were in. Then you and I became good friends when you and I helped them when I was a young adult before you left...then I hated you for it."
"I remember."
"It's amazing how much you can learn by history and to know more about those you've come to know. By what they have learned and stood for. You've gone through so much I can't even imagine how hard it must've been."
Toren looks away and touches a statue with his claw-hoof "It was and still is. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of them. But I know that with you and our daughters in my life I am now complete. And soon you'll earn your wings and who knows maybe a few more babies along the way, two, or three more perhaps if not more to cherish for eternity."
Starlight laughs "Three more? Toren Athena and Atara are already a hoof-ful!", softly she touched his chest looking up at him "But I wouldn't mind another baby in the future maybe two more, but not three!"
"Darn it. Must you crush my dreams?"
"Yes. But you still love me."
"Yes I do and always will my beautiful wife" softly he kisses her "And speaking of more children this seems like a good place to take them one day as a family adventure."
"Oh I thought you were meaning something completely different", she says blushing while biting her lip.
He looks at her and can sense by his deceased friend’s gift she was thinking of a baby and wanting one. The stallion wanted to grant her that wish but his wife made a point Athena was still to young and causes a lot of chaos by her strong magical abilities. Understanding the responsibility Toren didn't want his poor wife to be overwhelmed no matter how tempted he was to, you know make the move to procreate.
Gentle the stallion lifts her chin up "I know what you're thinking. But you're right our daughters are still too young. But that doesn't mean we can't have this time together after all we are alone. Might as well make it worth something and take the advantage, besides hearing an old hybrid like me telling you old, boring stories", he flirts as he nibbles her left ear growling "And it is our anniversary after all and now you got me in the mood to have our special dance my naughty, sexy wife"
"Here? But Toren wouldn't that be bad. This is a sacred place. I don't think this is not the best of time for us to.", he kisses her "Toren you're not", kisses her again "You're so dumb"
Smiling he quickly grabbed her flank and whispers into her ear "You worry too much Miss Glimmer", he says with a kiss.
Rolling her eyes she sighs giving in by a kiss allowing him to get very close and intimate with his beautiful wife. Softly his tail rubs against her left leg as she moans knowing that was her weak spot as he kisses her again pulling her close to his side both on their hind legs as if they were dancing at a ball. Instantly her hoof goes to his chest gently kissing it since she had to work her way up to his lips by his height. He groans as he lifts her up wrapping Starlight’s legs around his waist to kiss her on the lips then slowly moves his way to her shoulder gently biting it as she kisses him passionately on the neck breathing heavily moaning under her breaths as he nipples against the mares collar bone.
Starlight takes a breath "Toren we should stop before we", he stops here with another kiss, she sighs glaring at him "Toren, you're not really making this easy"
Smirking he lowered his claw-hoof down her back and stroked her tail "Oh good then I'm doing my job right and besides this is what you wanted, and in honor to have another with me I need to help you by making one with my hard friend"
"Toren please...don't…."
Strongly the prince pulls her closer causing their bodies to make contact by moving his groin inside with his claw-hoof, giving him the whole advantage to claim her as she tried to break free from his strong embrace like chains that were getting more heavy as he continues to kiss his mate. Panicking the poor mare was struggling desperately wanting a baby but it wasn't the right time, her emotions were getting in her head. In that moment Starlight had to pull the plug and quick by doing the one thing he hates, she knew the consequences but she had to stop him before it got more advanced and serious to where they would both lose themselves and make their love to turn and become into the one thing she wanted but wasn't prepared to have that dream with their daughter who was still to young.
Starlight yells "Tauntarus let go! Now!", rapidly she bites his ear.
Annoyed he growls "Ooow! Alright I get the hint! Let go! Star let go!"
Instantly she opens her mouth as Toren goes backwards away from the table while rubbing his ear before looking at her unsatisfied. Feeling guilty Starlight rubs her left hoof against her right arm concerned by what she did knowing that was his weakness, and turn off. With caution and understanding Toren goes to her and kisses her head in peace while making a solid apologetic promise toward his wife.
She looks down guilty "I'm sorry, I- I know you hate that..more than me stepping in your tail.."
Understanding her worry he kisses her lips then sighs "Hey you're fine, it was my fault I went to far because...I want to give our daughters another to play with and I guess in some way I to have that desire and one day I will give you another child. That's a promise."
"I know you will. It's just not the right time right now, I mean we are still new at being parents. Well I am you've had years to experience this."
"Now now just because I am immortal doesn't mean I am perfect. Yes I raised Cadence but it was not easy believe me, I had to do it all on my own and learn with my mother's help that way I would have been able to support her as her father."
"She helped you? So she knows, does Cadence know?"
"No she does not. I.. I have not found the courage to tell her. Because when she met Shining Armor I erased her memory about me so she wouldn't get hurt. And if Shining Armor found out that I was her father he would probably never look at me the same way again. He's still trying to adjust to the idea that I am decades older than he is."
Starlight looked at him confused "Wait so he thought he was your age all this time?"
"Yeah I'm not very good when it comes to telling the truth about me. Like mother like son."
"Hey that's not fair your mother is a good mare and a great ruler. We all have made our mistakes we aren't proud of."
He sighs looking down then moved his head back to her rubbing his neck worried "But Star it's easy for you to say that because your mortal. I had to live many decades of pretending. Because I stopped ageing when I turned 35 years old. And when I realized I could never die or age. I made a promise to myself to never hurt anyone and to be myself. But to have my identity altered to protect those I love."
"Toren I understand what you were trying to do. Really I do but you need to tell Cadence that you're her father. If you can tell me then you can tell her."
"Star it's not that easy you're my wife and the one I trust. If I told her that I am her father I would lose her forever, and my best friend at the same moment, I can't risk that.."
Starlight kisses him "I will be there with you but they both need to know. They have the right to know about your past life. And yes it will take time to gain back their trust. But If I know Shining and Cadence they will understand and love you no matter what."
"You make it sound so easy."
"Well actions speak louder than words. Come on let's go home and tomorrow we will tell them."
Toren sighs "But what if I never see them again? What if they will never forgive me?", he begins to tear up "That is why I haven't said anything about it. So I won't lose them. My daughter, and her husband who is my best friend that I have grown to love."
They kiss and Starlight wipes his eyes to comfort him as she speaks "You'll find a way you've always have. You can do this. And I will be there every step of the way. Come on let's go home. "
Quietly they walk down the forest and she looks at her husband who is deep in his thoughts and she smiles softly, he used his tail to lift her up to his back, and together they flew to the castle. In the hallway they made their way to their daughters room to find Discord asleep with Athena ontop of his head as Celestia tells her younger granddaughter a story about her son about his life and the adventures he had with his friends, and Starlight.
She smiles "And by their love all Equestria was saved and a new member of the Royal family was born and will one day be a princess and someday a queen. The end", she says closing the book.
Atara yawns then sees her mother and rapidly uses her wings to fly to her smiling excited, Starlight laughs softly to herself grabbing the tiny filly "Well look at you Atara, have you been practicing with your grandpa again?"
Atara nods and makes noises making the stallion laugh "She gets it from her dad. Isn't that right bug"
Smiling he grabs her and nuzzles her against his nose making Atara giggle, then sneezes before slowly falling asleep in Toren’s arms while rubbing her eyes, his mother smiles chuckling "Looks like somepony is tired."
Starlight nods " Here I'll take her"
"It’s okay I got her Star why don't you go to bed I'll watch her tonight until she fully falls asleep. I'll meet you there later."
"Are you sure?"
Toren smiles at his younger daughter then looks at his wife "Yeah I'm sure you go one ahead", he kisses Starlight on the head telling her to leave the room, the mare walks out of the room and Celestia uses magic to levitate Discord before she moved her granddaughter on her bed. Smiling she kissed Athena's head with her husband still hovering alseep next to her back as she walked forward kissing her son on the cheek.
Celestia smiles "Goodnight Son", she says giving him a light kiss on the cheek.
He looks at her with a small grin "Goodnight mom"
Soon after they leave the stallion closed the door before walking to Athena's bed to kiss her head, then made his way to the crib and puts Atara down softly. Quietly he looked at his three year old that reminded him of Cadence when she was just like her over nine-hundred years ago, he could still remember the lullaby he sang to her, every word that he began to hum the melody to himself as he sat by the crib.
He sighs before looking out the window "Cadence I hope you can forgive me, for I only did it to protect you"
The next day Discord and Celestia were trying to get their son and his family to leave to plan their surprise without any interruptions so it wasn't spoiled. During the night they blocked their thoughts, along with their granddaughter thoughts away from Toren so he wouldn't get suspicious or find out about the baby, smiling they waited with them at the train station so they could say goodbye to the family as they were gathering their belongings and placed them next to the wall before they all sat quietly, well all except Athena who was playing with her grandpa’s tail giggling in excitement when Discord tickled her when she grabbed it as the result of their newest, random game that made the adults laugh.
Smiling Celestia laid her head against her husband's shoulder as he played with the tiny filly imagining the future with their baby as she placed her hoof against her stomach that wasn't showing but could feel a warm feeling, a feeling that she hadn't felt in decades when she was expecting Toren who was now a father, husband, and has grown into everything she hoped he'd be. Distracted by memories Celestia began to remember the day her son was born, a moment where she became a mother for the very first time, hearing his first cries of life in the world as she held him close in her arms crying tears of joy knowing that she was given a son, a baby that healed her heart whole instantly.
However, that happiness was ruined by choosing another path, a decision Celestia had regretted and loathed so much that she erased Discord’s memory when he was turned to stone as punishment so if he were to return he would destroy her, allowing all pain to vanish with her as the result of abandoning Toren, the last thing she ever loved.
Discord looked at her concerned “Tia, are you alright? You're crying”
“I'm fine”
“Tia, if you're fine then why are you crying? Did something happen is it-”
Not wanting you ruin the surprise Celestia covers his mouth with her hoof instantly with a small glare while holding a hint of worry about Toren overhearing their conversation about the secret baby.
Celestia whispers “Discord quiet he's right next to you! I'm alright!”
“Sorry you scared me I thought something bad happened to you know...and by how you were responding it was the first I thought!”
“And I appreciate that but you need to relax or you'll ruin the surprise!”
In respect of his wife he folds his arms with an eye roll annoyed that he stuck out his tongue glaring toward the pregnant Alicorn who turned red awkwardly before looking away from him also folding her arms.
Curious to know what was going on Toren looks at them before back at his wife whispering “Honey is it me or are my parents acting a little off today, like they're hiding something”
“No not really why?”
“I don't know but I have a feeling that they are by their behavior, but the question is what could it be?”
Starlight nudges him while holding her daughter who was sleeping in her arms “Toren relax I'm sure they're fine and whatever it is they'll tell when we come back. So stop worrying and eavesdroppin”
Before he could respond she kissed him unexpectedly that he knocked into Discord who bumped into his wife that she fell over before catching herself by stepping on the filly's tiny white claw-hoof. Once everypony heard Athena crying they quickly moved forward, Celestia was the first to take action by trying to help sooth the baby with compassion grabbing her immediately to heal the injury almost scared to death that the mare spoke softly mixed with concern and guilt.
Celestia began to tear up “Athena it's going to okay you're going to be fine, I'm sorry that I hurt you honey”
Unsure what to do both Starlight and Toren watched mostly concerned for the mare then their daughter trying to figure out how to help them both without causing conflict, or end up making it worse.
Gently Toren walked forward “Mom it's okay it was an accident she's fine, she's going to okay, it's alright”
“I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt her”
“I know, but she's fine, and stopped crying because of you. Mom are you okay? You're not acting like yourself, usually you're not like this, at all to be honest now that I think about it, I'm starting to worry”
Athena wiped her eyes "Grandma I'm okay, and oh daddy I forgot to tell you that about the"
Celestia interrupts her quickly with a lie “I'm fine really I was just scared that Athena was really hurt and it must have caused me to instantly react”, she gave her to Discord who was whispering to her about the surprise party and to be quiet about it.
“I understand, but are you sure you're alright? Is something wrong?”, Toren asks concerned.
“Yes. Now let's just drop the subject please, I really am alright Toren, honest it was nothing but a reaction”
Starlight sits down by the mare “Well it's over now and she's okay and that's all that matters...but if you ever want to talk about anything just know that we will always be here for you mom and will try our best to make sure that you're okay as well.”
“Thank you Starlight, both of you and I will keep that in mind for further discussions in the future”
“Good, I'm glad to hear that”
Without warning the train arrives loudly that Atara goes against Celestia's chest scared by the whistle that blew many times until the train stops in its tracks letting out passengers of all shapes, species that made the little toddler curious.
Celestia smiles “It's okay sweetheart they won't bite you you'll be just fine”
“All aboard for the Crystal Empire! All board!”, yelled the constructor.
Using magic the stallion placed the suitcases in the cart that pulled out from the bottom of the train that closed slowly to seal itself properly, Toren smiles “Well that's our train, so I guess we will see you in a week”
“Now be careful kiddo, and make sure to always be prepared in case something bad happens, and try to not cause trouble because knowing you Toren you always somehow manage to get involved with fights”, he says rubbing his son's head.
Toren smirks whispering “Like you?”
“Oh be quiet and get on the train!”
“Love you dad”
“Yeah yeah I know you do kiddo”
Quietly they looked at each other for a moment that broke off when Atara went to Toren's leg making small noises wanting to be held. Without hesitation the stallion picked up his daughter before giving his father one finally glance before walking inside the large train doors with his wife who followed him from behind leaving Discord and Celestia.
Once the family were settled in their seats Athena went to the window smiling wagging her tail like a puppy when she saw her grandparents who waved at her happily as the train began to slowly move forward. Quietly the couple laughed as their daughters kept staring at the window moving her head to watch confused when they disappeared sideways without even moving whatsoever, wanting to see them again Atara began to small whimpers sad missing her grandma and grandpa.
Toren looks at her while leaning his head forward “Hey it's okay bug we'll see them really soon, you excited to see Kk, Shiny, and Flurr?”
Trying to distract her from crying he quickly tickled her with his claw-hoof making the filly laugh when Toren continued to play with his daughter.
Starlight giggles smiling “Babe, you're going to make her fall over”
“No I'm not-Woah Atara careful or”, blushing he held the baby realizing that his wife was right and smiles nervously trying to not cause trouble.
She smirks “What was that Toren?”
“N-nothing I was just about telling our daughter to be careful or she'll ruin the nicely hoof made seat stuff”
“Uh huh sure you were”
“Alright fine I may have almost dropped her but now she's going to take her nap so shh or she'll wake”
Not wanting to cause tension Starlight used magic to pull his necklace down to kiss him on the lips while stroking his groin with her tail just to give Toren a boner as a reminder to never lie to his wise wife.
Toren sighs grunting under his breath whispering “Star please stop you're not being fair especially when you are doing it to punish me because I can read your thoughts”
“I know because I'm making a point, literally to where you'll need to take action before somepony sees it”
“Star we can't and you know it to”
With an evil little grin she whispers “Exactly so next time don't lie babe, so this is a warning but next time I won't go so easy on you when we're all alone, together with no pony to watch, no pony to hear, and no pony to disturb us because if lie to me again I'll make sure you can't walk for a week, or use it without crying”
Slowly her tail covers his left thigh to hide the evidence as she kissed his lips again while using her hoof to rub against his large groin that Toren made a small gasp breathing heavily to himself as quiet as he could to not wake Atara or disturb the other passengers that might hear. Determined to continue Starlight went faster that she could feel his groin hardening as it grew longer that he used his wing to wrap her around close to his body blushing lightly growling quietly as he moans to himself rapidly by her hoof that moved back and forth so much that he could feel it throbbing.
Starlight smirks blushing “What's wrong babe are you struggling?”
“N-no I'm not-aah aah ooh Star I'm almost about to-aah I can't hold it in much longer”, he says whispering under his breath while moaning.
Curious Athena tilts her head as was asleep beside her "Mom is daddy okay?"
Toren tries to talk but his wife interrupts him with a kiss, then looked over at her daughter "Yeah he's fine Athena, he's just being silly.", she smiles "Hey why don't you go and get something to eat from the food chart, here is some bits, and can you get something for your sister, like some apple sauce"
"Okay!", excited she takes the money with her horn and runs away.
Unable to talk he growls while breathing to himself in a quiet middle-ranged sound as he growled "Star stop"
She kept going with a smirk glaring at him in a deep stare blushing "Even if I do you'll still do it, better hurry or you'll make a mess, and what if Athena sees, she'll ask why and you'll have to explain", she kisses his chest "And you can't talk right now"
Angry the stallion sucked against her neck as she rubbed even faster to a point that it was starting to get painful, he could feel it starting to come down, looking around quickly he saw that most of the passengers were sleeping, using his tail he coiled the filly that was dreaming against the seat, wrapped tightly enough to not get away, but gentle so she wouldn't stop breathing. Unable to hold back any longer Toren grabbed her hoof glaring toward her while grabbing his groin as he used his other to feel Starlight's vagina, without warning kisses the unicorn silencing her as he pushed it inside like a snake going through a pipe in full speed, moving deeper, and deeper until it reached the very end.
No longer able to hold it in Toren moved his head down moaning quietly as it escaped from the head of his groin that shock up inside his wife's small body like a rocket that soared high before coming down that parts of it squirts out of her vaginal hole touching his claw-hoof that was halfway under Starlight's flank. Remembering the promise he made the stallion looked at her concerned realizing what he had done making Toren instantly worry knowing that she’d end up pregnant, looking back he saw his daughter still asleep which made him feel worse that he pulled himself out quickly while uncoiling his tail then teleports far away from the mare.
Toren looks at her guilty “Starlight I'm sorry I wasn't thinking I panicked”
Seeing him worried about the possibility of getting her pregnant made her wonder as she looked down for a second then to him who was looking the other away anxious, she shakes her head “No it was my fault I went to far”
Toren looks away growling “Well now because of my ignorance I've broken my promise Star you'll be-”
“Toren..”
“I need to walk so I can focus myself to calm down, just wait here with the baby I mean Atara oh you know what I mean! Ah just, just stay here..I'm going help Athena get the food”
In respect of her husband she remained seated looking out the window almost laughing but swallowed it with a sigh instead, quietly in the corner of her eye Starlight watched Toren leave quickly filled with shame, guilt, and fear in his face. Shortly after he disappeared she smiled giggling as the result from the impressive-fast-experience they shared that had an unexpected turn out, literally. Pondering to herself she began to imagine the future with a baby that this time was created with themselves , well that she created without his consent just like when he was cursed by dark magic that gave them Athena who was saved with love that grew into light so she could be with them. In silence Starlight smiled softly when she saw her daughter curled up sucking her hoof in a deep an eternal slumber, lost in dreamland.
Carefully Starlight moved toward her daughter so she could lay next to her while slowly moving Athena close in her arms, with magic she moves her blanket over the tiny filly that snuggled against the mares chest. Lost in thoughts thinking about what happened moments ago gave Starlight a calm, steady, realization that there was a chance she could be carrying a foal inside to love just as much as she loved her daughters who would then have another baby sister, or brother to one day play around with. This thought warmed the mares heart that she almost cried feeling joy, excitement, slightly worried but didn't care anymore knowing that she'd have her dream, to carry a life that Toren accidentally gave but it was something he created with her, both together now as husband and wife, while hoping it will be a colt, so her husband can finally have a son to teach, and pull pranks with.
Once the stallion calmed down he sighs ashamed to speak that was placed on pause when he saw Starlight sleeping with his daughter, with a small blush glowing as Athena sat on the ground with a apple sauce container in her clawhoof with a plate of food for her mother with her magic. Softly Toren smiled knowing that this was going to a challenge if she was with child he gave unplanned, but at this point all he do was shake his head sighing before moving forward to lay next to his wife while holding her hoof.
Athena looked at him "Daddy aren't you going to wake them up so they can eat"
Softly he looked at his wife then at her shaking his head "No we can give to them tomorrow here", with magic he placed it into a container and puts in on ground then levitates her by his wing "Now lets go to sleep"
"Okay", she sighs before closing her eyes, as he yawns before putting his chin against Starlight's back that halfway touched her stomach.
Quietly the stallion lifted his head before smiling softly as he leaned forward down to kiss his future, his new baby that could be with Starlight that will grow, and someday be with them as part of the family, but for now it will be in their hearts, and in their dreams as they all slept together in wonder, and joy.
A few hours have passed and Toren was at the Crystal empire walking with Starlight as Athena waddles behind them trying to keep up with her parents. Exhausted by her attempts to keep up with them she starts to make noises annoyed that Starlight looks behind and sees her daughters falling behind by their tiny legs trying to move fast.
Starlight giggles and whispers "Toren, our daughters are falling behind."
Toren whispers back "Not for long"
He uses magic to levitate his two daughters and puts them on his back and smiling Atara looks around and giggles and goes on his head to be like her daddy, tall, brave, tall, and awesome while Athena sat down smirking at her sister.
Starlight smirks "Show off"
"I know. And besides I think it's a good look for me don't you think? It can be Rarity's new fashion line!"
"Now that would be ridiculous. But I do admit she does look adorable and is having fun just make sure she doesn't fall, or you'll sleep outside with the guards tonight"
"Don't worry babe she's in good hooves or in this case claws!"
Starlight rolls her eyes "Oh brother."
Happily Toren and his family walk inside, Shining Armor does his secret shake with Toren as Cadence goes to Starlight hugging her as her son TenderHoof plays with Athena. Little Tenderhoof was smaller than Athena for he was only a few months old, but the filly was gentle, and lets him play with her tail, Flurry Heart is laying by her little brother to observe the young foals playing.
Cadence smiles "Starlight it's so good to see you and I see Athena has grown last time we have met, along with Atara, had she been able to talk yet"
"Yes she has and has improved with her magic, and very smart for only being five years old, however we have tried to teach Atara how to speak, and whe know she understands in her own way, but she hasn't spoken yet."
Starlight sighs "She just turned three, Toren says she might be a mute, or she's just doing it to bug me. Either way she has definitely been a wonderful experience, and a challenge to."
On the ground Toren and Shining Armor were wrestling with their magic, and strength like two foals circling each other ready to fight to win a battle, softly Cadence looked at the stallions then back at her "And who knows maybe she'll have a little brother or sister to play with someday."
"We have been thinking about having another baby but we want to wait til the girls are more older, that way I'll be able to take care of the baby without having to chase around Atara, or being turned into a frog by two chaotic children" Starlight giggles "But who knows maybe it will be unexpected and if it I'm sure together we'll figure it out."
"I understand, but I sense that you desire one even though you have chosen to wait until you're more prepared to have another baby."
Starlight rubs her arm nervously laughing to herself smiling "I do but, it's not the right time. With Toren still learning to rule Equestria while trying to figure out Athena and her abilities. I already have a hoof-ful taking care of three chaotic “children” to raise"
Toren yells "Hey I heard that!"
Both Cadence and Starlight laugh, "Um mom?! A Little help!", FlurryHeart is in the air by little Atara who was growling at her as the baby was giggling thinking it was a game.
Starlight looks at her pointing "Atara no!"
She growls at Starlight using her magic at her lifting both her and Cadence in the air instantly yelling, Starlight tries to get down "Atti sweetie stop this! Put us down!"
Cadence speaks toward her daughter concerned "Flurry why is she doing this?! What happened!?"
"I don't know I was just playing with them then TenderHoof tripped and fell and then Athena started growling at me and well. Then this occurred!"
Athena nods "Yeah and she bite me to, she's acting funny!"
Cadence yells "Shining do something!"
"I'm trying!", gently he goes to her "Hey Atara it's me your Uncle Armor Can you please put them down? "
Instantly she growls and turns Shining into a frog, Toren turns at her and puts his claw-hoof on her head and uses magic on her horn. Confused the young hybrid looks at him then sees everyone on the air and her mom in trouble that her magic stops completely in fear. Quickly Toren caught them with magic and puts them down while turning his friend back to normal, into a stallion again, Atara goes to her father hiding against his chest almost crying. Gently her began to rub her back with his claw-hoof calming her down watching the mares look at one another noticing that Starlight has her hoof on her stomach made him concerned wondering if she in pain thinking that something happened to the baby leading her to miscarriage.
Once everypony was calm and relaxed Starlight walked forward “Atara! That was very, very bad you could have hurt somepony!”
“Easy Star she's only three years old, and you know how she is, and besides she had her right intentions. Look...”
Following his head she could see that TenderHoof had a bruise on his leg realizing that the baby was hurt, she was trying to protect him from harm, just like Toren when she was pregnant when she was being harassed by three mean mares.
"She was trying to protect him. Like you did with me when I was being threatened and bullied."
Toren smirks "Looks like she has my instincts. Isn't that right bug", Atara begins to laugh when he tickles her.
Cadence sighs relieved "Well as long as everypony is safe that's all that matters."
Nervous the stallion looked at his daughter knowing he had to confess, he spoke softly "Um.. Cadence I would like to talk to you about something important. Shining as well. Alone."
"Ah sure buddy. Flurry why don't you take the kids to your room and play with them.", Shining asks nicely.
FlurryHeart nods "Of course, come on let's go play and have cookies.", she takes TenderHoof in her arm and uses magic to place the girls on her back, she walks away to her room leaving the young parents alone to talk and discuss privately.
Cadence walks forward politely "Alright Toren what would you like to talk about? Is everything alright?"
Slowly Toren gets nervous and looks away then Starlight puts her hoof on his leg giving his strength to tell them “Um… Cadence….I'm your father”
Cadence and Shining Armor laugh together leaving Toren scarlet red, and almost in tears trying to fight off the guilt so much that he looks away "“Wow that was that was a good dude! Haha I almost believed you!”, he says pointing at Toren laughing.
Toren eyes narrow growling in tears “I am! It's the truth and I can prove it”, quickly his horn glows and teleports them back in time, a time where they were in a small village where Twilight was just a toddler.
Quietly the adults watch as two young foals around ten years old on the playground with a small crowd observing the small improvised play, a young colt who lifts a wooden sword in the air as he climbed the colored stairway “I prince Shimmer blade have come to save Princess Cadence, the most prettiest princess in the world against the evil dragon! And I will destroy it with my sword that is filled with great power!”
Smirking Toren let out a massive roar and blows fire that turned into bubbles. Happily the other foals cheered and laughed in delight by the show, Cadence was pretending to be captured by Toren’s tail that was around her waist. Clapping the young mother's blush by the stallions role with the their tiny show.
Cadence giggles as she fakes a dramatic gasp “Oh no the great dragon has captured me who will save me from my father I mean from the terrible mean dragon! Help me!”
Toren looks at her with an evil smirk desperately holding in his laugh that he blows fire bubbles once again toward the smaller foals who cheered as their parents laughed.
Trying to remain brave young colt climbs up the tower and points his sword “Fear not princess I am here! Prepare to meet your doom beast! It is I Shimmer Blade!”
Toren laughs a fake laugh and uses magic to lift the young colt up in the air to face him smirking with narrowed eyes that glowed red. Unaware of this the colt looks at Cadence trying to show bravery with mostly of fear in his eyes, as for Cadence she was very shocked by her dad's mean unplanned move.
The stallion gives an evil chuckle “And what can you do to stop me? Little knight who no longer has his sword!”
“With love and support?”, he says almost terrified unable to move at all.
The draconequus-pony winks at the little colt smiling as he fakes his death by grabbing his chest gasping for breaths making the foals laugh “Oh no not that anything but that no I can't take it it's too much..Noooo!”
With magic he disappears in a blink of an eye leaving the foals and parents cheering as Cadence kisses the colt’s cheek. Watching from behind a tree Toren smiles and uses his magic to lift them in the air for an encore and creates fireworks behind the two foals that turned into bubbles just to make it enjoyable.
Out of an instant it changes to a different timeline, Cadence looks at Toren who was telling the truth as he looks at her in a calm expression as tears filled her eyes finally seeing her father again, his wing goes over her back as they continued to watch like ghosts to see a new location where Toren is putting the filly to sleep by playfully covering her whole body up with the blanket tickling his young daughter laughing.
“Daddy stop it that tickles!”, she says still giggling under the blanket
“Oh it does huh? Well then maybe that's why I'm hearing noises when you should be sleeping young lady”
“How can I sleep when your being mean by being the tickle monster!”
“Monster?! Oh now you've asked for it because here comes the all mighty tickle torturer! Muhaahaar”
“No daddy no stop it! Please stop!”
Toren smirks “Only if you give your handsome daddy a daughter kiss!”
“You promise you'll stop?”
“I promise flower cross my heart”
“Promise?”
“Yes now hurry before I change my-”
Cadence yells “No! I'm coming hold on wait! I'm coming daddy I'm stuck!”
“Stuck? Again?”
“Yeah the blanket ate me and I can't break free! Daddy help me it don't let me go….and it's hard to breathe!”
“Oh no! Hold on daddy will save you! Unhand my daughter you evil blanket!”, he says while lifting the blanket with the filly trapped inside.
Cadence giggles “Daddy you're supposed to get me out not hurt me”
“I was?”
“Yes and I can't fly yet...remember?”
“Oh right I forgot, I always seem to forget silly me...in fact I don't think remember how to get you down so looks like you're now stuck Flower!”
As they kept going back and forth both Cadence and her husband each had a moment where they looked at Toren individually trying to understand while understanding that the stallion they grew up most of their life was also now their relative. In silence Toren could feel his left arm being touched that he looks over seeing his daughter moving closer to him, her head goes against the hybrids shoulder barely enough to feel her tears that streamed down.
Carefully the stallion placed his claw-hoof around Cadence’s shoulder in a fatherly way trying to be her father again to make up for what she lost, smiling with tears the mare watched her younger self laughing so happily.
Toren tucks her in and looks at her “Goodnight my little flower”
“Dad what was mom like? Why did she leave? I mean you never talk about her was she a..bad villain?”
He looks at her stunned by her question and with a quick thought he sits down “She didn't leave honey and no she was never a bad villain, not even close. Your mother had a different quest, a very, very important quest, but she always loved you, just as much as I do”
Her face brightens up “Can you sing her lullaby? Please? I'll go right to sleep if you do”
Amused by her clever idea he gives in “Deal, maybe you can help me? You go first and I'll follow Flower”
He uses his magic to spin a small music box and it begins to play a soft melody as it shows flowers around walls and she sings to him with a soft voice that was soon joined by his gentle fatherly singing voice and together they sang the lullaby that was created by his old friend who died to save Cadence, tears filled his eyes remembering him and how he would of loved Cadence just as much as he does.

As soon as they finished the young princess lets out a soft long yawn rubbing her eyes “I love you daddy”
“I love you to. My Cadence”
As they return back Cadence was crying and Toren goes to her gently but only to receive a hug from her. In that moment all doubt left to peace as he held his daughter after years of not being able to live being called her father, now he was and never wanted to his Cadence go, ever again. Seeing them together gave Starlight hope knowing that her husband was free from exile and finally was free, free to be himself again with his first daughter, forever. Trying to understand that Toren was now his father in-law while still being his best friend at the same time, and knowing that his best friend gave him his wife was a blessed miracle, a sacrifice he made to give up who he was just so he could receive Cadence as his companion, Shining Armor felt guilty realizing that all this time Toren was protecting their friendship, their future by leaving Cadence who was his daughter, and without him she wouldn't be in his life, and that thought gave him joy.
Gently Starlight placed her hoof on his shoulder “You okay Shining Armor? I know this is probably hard for you since he is your best friend”
“I know, but I know he had reasons to hide that from her but I never thought he would tell her. I'm guessing you were behind it?”
“Yes and no it was his choice I just helped encourage him. And I'm glad he did because now Cadence has her father back, the way it should be”
“It just seems off to me he's her father but then again it makes sense. But then who is her mother? Because Toren was never married or even had sex until he met you”, he says trying to piece everything together into a small picture.
Smiling she watched her husband “Maybe someday he'll tell her, when he finds the right time she'll know”
Toren looks at Cadence as she wiped her eyes softly as she spoke “I'm sorry I didn't believe you. I just never really thought that it was possible. Especially knowing that my husband was your true friend”
Gently he wiped her eyes with his claw as he places it on her cheek “I know and I'm sorry I kept that part of your life and took it away from you”
“But why did you take away my memories to begin with dad? I don't understand why..were you ashamed that I was your daughter?”
Sad to see his daughter upset made him guilty while trying to find the right words in the best way he could.
In tears Toren shakes his head grabbing her cheeks in a fatherly tone “No Cadence no I was never ashamed by you, you were my greatest blessing that I received. I was trying to protect you...I thought if Shining Armor were to know the truth that I was your father he would have left you. And I didn't want you to lose him because of me, I couldn't risk your happiness, your future as a wife, or as a mother Flower”
Toren wipes her eyes while looking deep into them crying with her “From the moment you were born I dedicated my life to protect you, I always loved you, and watched you in the distance as you grew into a leader, a wife, a mother, and now a queen to the Crystal Empire. I am so proud of you and blessed to call you my daughter, my beautiful baby”
“And I'm grateful that you're my dad,I love so much and I know you only wanted me to be happy, you always were there even though I couldn't remember you I knew you meant a lot to me, and that we were still connected just differently. I understand that now...I understand you why you did it what you did because you loved me so much that you gave me away to Shining Armor so I could be happy, and be loved.”
“And I never stopped loving you Cadence, and I'm so sorry for leaving you alone, and I'll never leave you again, not ever I promise”
She smiles crying “Cross your heart?”
“Cross my heart Flower”
Gently the mare held him close as he kissed her head each shedding tears, Shining Armor sat by his friend with an opened mind understanding his reasons for the choice Toren made years ago just shortly after they finished training.
Shining Armor placed his hoof on his shoulder “Toren even if Cadence back then were to tell me that you were her father I'd never leave her because of that. Sure it would have been a shockingly confusing experience, but I would have understood. I mean now that I know your are immortal it makes more sense that you are Cadence’s father”
Surprised by his words he looked at him “Wait so you're not mad at me?”
“Who me no! I'm not mad I think it's awesome and slightly shocking but I'm cool with it. So does this mean I get to call you dad?”
“You can but between you and I that would be very weird “son””
“Oh no not at all “Dad””
They both laugh at each other as Starlight watches them together laughing and hugging each other, not only as royal guard buddies, they were now family, as in-laws.
Author's Note
This chapter was so fun to write almost five months ago, and I love the connection between Toren and Cadence when she was younger, so precious. Hope y'all this as I did creating it! ^-^
After returning home Toren and his family were introduced to a small gathering, both Discord and Celestia were waiting in the throne with balloons and ribbons all around the castle, with presents and cake. Unsure how to respond all Toren could do was look around and notice that some balloons had his cutie mark on it and on the cake was his name written on it. Curious young prince went to his mother as Starlight tries to catch Atara from destroying the cake.
Memorized by the colors and the large desert the pegasus couldn't help but attempt to reach for it, however a magical aura grabbed her, Discord smiles as the little princess glares growling in defeat once she realizes it was her grandfather who had snatched her from trying the cake.
Discord laughs “Sorry little bundle but that cake is for your father because it's his birthday!”
Both Toren and Starlight look at eachother oddly confused, each wondering what was going on, and how to get their daughter from not destroying the castle. Smiling confused Toren grabbing the filly and puts his daughter on his back knowing that she'll be kept away from trouble with his large wings.
Toren smirks at his parents “My birthday? Huh I never really had a birthday since well over almost a thousand years. But not complaining I do admire your effort but..what's the occasion?”
Discord places his hoof on his son's shoulder “Why your birthday of course! I mean we never truly got to celebrate it with you so now that we are together we can finally do it! Surprise!”
Without warning confetti shot out of Discords ears, a piece of confetti tickled Athena's tiny nose that she sneezed so loud that a shot of magic escaped from her horn creating a stream of light that bounced off the walls, and over each one's head. Worried that it could hurt somepony Starlight uses her own magic to teleport straight to the light, and destroyed it with her powers. Blushing Toren looks over but only to see his small wife blowing her horn with grace, he shakes his head trying not to laugh but instead gives her a small smirk.
Starlight walks over to him “Looks like Twilight's lessons are useful after all especially when I have a daughter with very um..gifted powers that can cause destruction”
The young parents laugh as they kiss their daughter on the cheeks and tickle her. Smirking Discord looks over and sees Celestia who was looking at him with a soft expressed nod giving her husband permission to tell Toren the news.
Athena poofs away "Mommy I'm not a baby!"
"Oh come on Chaos you'll always be our baby no matter how old you get", he says as he sat beside her "Always", gently he rubbed her head messing up her mane.
"Daddy stop it!", she says fixing her hair back to normal as Atara tried to catch her tail that moved sideways slowly until she bite it "Ow Atara no!", growling she takes her tail and moves it away from her.
In tears the pegasus ran to her dad and hide under his wing "Athena be nice, you know that she gets scared when somepony yells at her"
"She's always scared, and always cries to because she's a baby!", she gets up and walks away "Maybe that's why she can't talk because she still is a baby, and always will be"
Angry the mare teleports in front of her "Athena! You apologize to your sister right now!"
"No! You always said to be honest, she is and she'll never talk!", she yells back growling at her.
Hearing her yelling made Atara begin to cry that Toren wrapped his arm around her so she could hold his claw-hoof as tears fell down making small noises upset, annoyed the filly points "See!? And she always goes to dad to get attention that he never had time for me because she's nothing but a big baby!"
"Athena go to your room!", Starlight yells angry that the filly flinched "Go now! Until the party is over!"
"But mom"
Toren spoke softly "Honey"
"Now!", she yells once last time pointing at the door "And your'e grounded for a week, and will stay in room unless you have school, or eat, or use the restroom only! Now go!"
"I hate you! Your'e the worse mom ever! And I hope you never another baby because then it will have to be stuck with you!", quickly she ran away in tears until she teleports from the family's sight.
Almost in tears the mare looked down as Toren gave Atara to his mother before going to her "Star"
"I'm fine", she says in tears before wiping them fast "I'm fine, I'm fine, and I'm sorry I ruined your birthday by yelling but what she hurt made me upset because what if she never talks, and now Athena hates me"
Gently Toren hugged her "She doesn't hate honey, she didn't mean it and was upset, look I'll go talk to her and invite her to the party", he kissed her head softly "I'll be back"
WIth magic he telports to the door that lead to his daughter's room and sighs before knocking on it "Athena"
"Go away!", she yells annoyed "I don't want to see anypony anymore!"
Trying not to laugh he smirks "Not even your fun dad? Who's birthday is today who really wants you to be there", he asks trying to get her to change her mind.
With magic she opened the door while still sitting on her bed "Come in"
"Thank you, and you know your magic is really good, when I was your age I could only teleport", smiling he sat by the bed leaning his back against the mattress as he looked at her back "But you Chaos you can do many things without even trying and learn very quickly, and eventhough your sister is slow at understanding doesn't make her a baby, she's special like you"
Hearing him made the young hybrid look at him "I know we're both special and different but daddy she always gets the attention that I never get to be with you because you and mommy always help her", she says annoyed before sighing "And I know that she'll talk someday but it makes me mad when she always gets what she wants without even talking!"
He chuckles nodding as he looked at her "I know, and that maybe Chaos but you get attention to", gently he held her claw-hoof as he spoke "Look I'll make you deal if you apologize to your mother I'll let you come back to the party, and on every Wednesday you and I will have a special day together. Just you and I how does that sound?"
She folds her arms "Do I have to say sorry?"
"Yes, because what you said really hurt mommy, because there might be a chance that mommy could have a baby again, and what you told her made her really sad"
"It did?"
"Yes, and she feels bad and thinks that you hate her"
Feeling terrible she gasps "Oh no, what do I do she's mad at me and told me to stay here"
"Hmm that is true, how about this why don't I get mommy and bring her to you that why you can say sorry then we all can have fun at the my birthday party, what do you say?", he ask with a small smile.
She nods instantly "Deal"
Next to the door the mare took a small breath then sees her husband standing beside her "Go on she's ready for you"
"Thank you", she says softly trying not to cry.
Softly he kissed her cheek "You're'e welcome, now go on so I can enjoy my birthday, then later I can have my present from you in our room tonight, and under the stars in the garden", he says as he licked her neck playfully.
Starlight giggles blushing "Oh believe me you'll like it", she says as she flicked her tail at his face before walking inside.
Smirking he walked away with a skip in his steps excited for their date, meanwhile the mare walked inside and sees her daughter looking down "I'm sorry that I said that you're a bad mom"
Gently she spoke "Come here", the filly ran to her and hugged her sighing "I'm sorry for yelling sweetie, it's just been hard because I know you two are my special little girls, and it makes mommy sad when you treat your sister rudely"
"I sorry but it's hard when she takes you and daddy away from me all of the time"
"Athena, she's little and needs us to help her"
She sighs "I know I know, I'm sorry", she hugged her "And if do have another baby it'll be happy with you even if you are mean sometimes, but you're my mom and I love you"
"I love you to", she says as she kissed her head and sighs "And always will"
A few hours have passed and the draconequs was getting really excited and goes between the couple poofing a balloon animals at Atara who giggles as it ran around the room, he looks at them with a smirk desperately holding in his enthusiasm, tempted to scream out the surprise he walks around them before creating a stage with his magic, and places a small table on it that held props, and a microphone.
Discord coughs “Greeting Mares and birthday colt! For my first trick I'm going to turn this bird into a cake that will pop out into well who knows really!”
Celestia giggles as she watches her husband doing his trick, as for Toren and Starlight they were utterly confused on what was happening, as for Athena she was laughing enjoying every moment in the show.
Celestia puts her hoof on her son’s shoulder “Looks like somepony is enjoying herself”
Toren looks down seeing Athena in front of him laughing with her sister at his father who was doing loops around clouds with rainbows spinning around him. Having a father proud moment he smiles at the sight of his young daughters who were actually enjoying the confusing show, quietly he looks at his mother trying to figure out what his parents were up to by watching her every single reaction.
Toren leans his head “Why do I feel like that this is more than a just birthday for me? Don't get me wrong I'm honored that you're doing this but what's going on? Ah Mom?!”
In silence his question left him to only see his mother smile as she stood up to walk onto the stage to stop Discord with a soft whisper in his ear. Together they each smiled while giggling to themselves leaving their son to get slightly annoyed that he was blushing deep red mad, confused by his behavior.
Starlight taps Torens shoulder to get his attention and whispers “Are you okay? You look like you're upset?”
Her sincere interest gave him some closure to respond softly “What's wrong is the fact that my parents are hiding something, and I want to know what it is! I mean look at them they are acting so weird like to a point that I'm starting to get anxious”
“Oh come on I think it's sweet that they are doing this. I mean it maybe something for a baby but at least they are celebrating your birthday”
Her comment made his wonder then he looks at Atara putting the two together realizing a connection that gave him an answer almost instantly, Toren looks over to his wife with a soft expression understanding “Wait a minute you're right! They are celebrating my birthday but they are doing as if I'm still a baby, it's almost if they are trying to relive it. Which means they're….they're”
Starlight watches him begin to stand up “Wait are you saying they are trying to recreate your past? Toren?”
Before she received an answer Toren uses his magic to freeze his parents from moving and gets on the stage walking around them, and looks at his mother's appearance carefully but sees no sign of a what he thought was soon to be revealed. With magic he picks up a present and shakes it and hears a small sound from it, with curiosity he opens it but only to find a small blanket for a baby. Still frozen both Celestia and Discord look at eachother, then back at their son who was looking at them almost in tears. Unable to solve their puzzle he undoes the spell to release them as Toren flies up to the streamers and touches it, Celestia flies up to her son concerned as she watched him crying softly to himself alone.
Her hoof lifts up his chin “Toren what's wrong? Is everything alright, you're crying? Was it all to much?”
“No I love it I'm just trying to understand why you're doing this? After years of not seeing me and not being able to watch me grow.. why are you trying to recreate something that's gone….like you're still living in the past that you can't move forward”
Hearing his words stung her heart, this was not the reaction she was hoping for as tears began to fall down Toren’s face and hers that all she do at this point was hug him.
After she hugs him they look deep into each other “Toren this party wasn't just to celebrate your birth, it was to celebrate the day you were given to me. A reminder that even though you're grown up you'll always be my baby, and that you'll always be my little bundle of joy. I'm sorry that it made you upset I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings honey.”
He looks at her flustered “You didn't upset me you're just confusing me! Because for some reason both you and dad are acting as if I am still a baby! Why?! I mean I get that I'm your only son and you wanted to do something nice but this is something Athena would enjoy! I mean look at her she's having a blast while I'm literally losing my mind!”
Before Toren could speak anything else he gets interrupted by the echoes of his father's laugh that the stallion grew furious blushing red.
Toren flies down using his magic to teleport straight to the ground full of tears in pure rage “I mean it! I want answers here! What in Equestrian name is wrong with you two!?”
Starlight was shocked by his reaction that she remained still sitting down as she held Athena in her hooves tightly as she watched Toren concerned about his temper that she hasn't seen in awhile. Silently Celestia flew down next to Starlight and whispers into her ear about the baby, the mare turns at her surprised but understands and stays quiet keeping the surprise still.
Discord finally gets up from the ground trying to fight is laughter “Don't you get it? Y-your mother is having a baby! It was your surprise birthday party! Literally!”
Hearing those words caused Toren to go silent feeling terrible while trying to gets his thoughts together by the surprise that was indeed a surprise that turned out to be his mother's way of celebrating his birthday by giving him the greatest present of all, a sibling. Disappointed in his actions he looks away from everyone with his head down thinking of a way to make it up to them for their hard work and very thoughtful experience that was supposed to be fun and exciting. Sadly due to his rude reaction it turned into a hurtful disappointing birthday party, Celestia looks at her son who couldn't even speak nor gaze at anyone seeing that he was ashamed of himself for ruining the surprise.
Gently she walked to him and nuzzles him “Aren't you surprised?”
“Yeah I'm surprised that I totally ruined your surprise to begin with when I should have just kept my mouth shut”, he sighs regretting his actions moments ago and his words.
She laughs softly “Oh Toren. I think you and I can agree that this was a bad idea.”
Toren looks at her “No you had good intentions. I mean it was definitely something I'll never forget but it will be something to laugh about in the future. I just wish I could start over and find out in a better way than this”
Discord sits by them and runs his sons head “Maybe but this was way more entertaining. And besides either way there's one good thing that came out of all of this.”
Toren looked at his father interested “And what's that?”
With a small grin his mother wraps her wing against him “Your surprise present being a big brother to your future brother or sister. And getting the chance to be a family again the right way this time. Unless you don't want to be a brother?”
Toren gets up and looks at Discord surprised smiling excited “Are you kidding!? Of course I want to be a brother! I get to have a sibling and I can teach it how to use magic and maybe fly if it has wings! Oh who knows maybe I can even be able to take care of it and show it the ways of the world! And be the best B-B-B ever!”
Starlight laughs “B-B-B? What does that even mean?!”
With no warning Toren lifts Atara in the air hovering leaving all three of them confused, and intrigued to.
“It means Best-Big-Brother ever! Has a nice ring to it don't ya think?”
Getting ideas the stallion nuzzles his daughter excited telling her that he was going to be a brother, as for Discord, Celestia, Starlight, and Athena they all laughed in the distance.
It's been three months since the announcement that Toren instantly took charge that way their parents could focus more on the baby's health so his mother wouldn't stress. Showing support Starlight would help him sign off papers in the best way she could by learning with his instructions, however something was also on her mind that was causing a distraction, but was too nervous to speak about it knowing that Toren was already had to much on his plate as it is with new responsibilities, and now raising the sun, while doing both his work and his mother's everyday that there were times where he would hardly sleep, or even eat. Yawning by the lack of self sleep Toren continued to sign papers trying to focus by eating a chocolate crystal with spicy ingredients to keep him awake to finish the task, determined to achieve another day before it was ended to start Luna's shift within a few short hours left.
Starlight taps his leg “Honey?”
“Hold on I'm almost done Starlight, but please do continue I'm listening”
“Fine if you can even listen”
“Star please don't start, you know that my mother is almost five months, and I don't want her to stress because I know the consequences, and I don't want to be held accountable for the lost of my parents child and my sibling..”
“Well she's not the only who is having a baby”
“Honey please I'm trying to-”, stopping he looked forward with everything still in the air almost paralyzed until without thinking Toren looked at her who moved her hoof revealing her small belly to him.
Toren points shocked “Star you're?”
“Uh huh”
“Wait no we haven't done...The train”
“Yeah”
Not wanting to upset her he smiles throwing the papers and quills across the floor no longer caring about anything else but his wife who just made him go completely insane with happiness.
Starlight giggles “Toren are you ok?”
“A baby? We're going to have a baby? We're going to have a baby!?”
“Are you happy?”
“Happy? What kind of question is that of course I'm happy. Oh I can't believe it, a baby, another one”
“Yeah a baby”
Almost crying the stallion kisses her while grabbing his wife smirking as he placed her sideways on his lap to kiss her even more all over happily, Toren kisses her whispering “A baby”
“Uh huh, and one you created this time, together as husband and wife, no curse, a baby that you gave me”
“More like you did you're the one who forced me to well you know and oh no…”
“What?”
“Oh my dad is going to kill me! When he finds out I'm going to be thrown across Equestria as a frisbee! And it's all your fault..”, in tears he kisses her “My beautiful, stubborn, hard-headed, pregnant wife who has cleverly blessed me”
Blushing the hybrid looked down feeling her belly that was full of promise, his baby, their future bundle of chaos to love together with their daughters who was still to young, but in that moment Toren no longer cared knowing that his wife was pregnant, a child they created together with their love, friendship, and by lying.
Starlight giggles as he kisses her belly, before going to her lips stroking her purple mane with his claw-hoof as they kissed again only this time accepting their new adventure, their second blessing, a new baby to love, and get to know.“A baby?!” that both Toren and Starlight look at eachother nervous before glancing forward seeing the draconequus folding his arms shocked and angry.
Toren smiles nervously trying to not cause tension “Dad hey! We just finished so we are going now bye!”
With magic he disappears with his wife before being poofed back on the throne, Toren hides his head behind Starlights shoulder that she giggles to herself quietly blushing.
Discord flies next to them “Toren! Starlight! You two have some explaining to do! How did you, you know what I don't want to hear it! Let me guess next thing you know you're going to say that you're pregnant to Toren, wait are you?”
“No!”
“Oh thank goodness! Well now I feel better so now I can actually kill you!”
“Wait what?!”
Starlight makes a shield “Discord no you're not! It was my fault I'm the one who forced him to do it, literally”
“What are your talking about how is this your fault when he's the one who got you pregnant Glimmy-Pants!
“Because we did it on the train, and it just all happened so fast and well now Athena will be a big sister”
Discord points “Wait you don't lie which means that you're and Tia are both at the same time?! Oh nooooo!”
Together the couple laughed as the draconequus goes on the ground dramatically panicking while smiling happy for them that he starts crying.
Toren smiles “Dad are you okay?”
“Noooo! No I'm not I'm so very mad at you two right now that I'm going to go outside scream then hug you”
With a snap of his claw he vanished leaving the couple to go out to the balcony but only to see Discord flying around yelling excited to be a grandpa, smiling they waited sitting down close together until he poofed back in front of them smirking while narrowing his eyes folding his arms.
Toren smiles “Feel better?”
“Yes, because my wonderful devious daughter in-law is having a baby for me to create chaos with! Of course I'm happy for you two, shocked but I can't be mad when it's mother who ended up getting herself pregnant without even trying! I'm so proud!”, without warning the draconequs grabbed Starlight holding her like a baby kissing her cheeks smiling almost in tears tickling the unicorn.
Starlight laughs “Discord stop it!”
“Alright fine Glimmy-Pants. Wait! Or should I say Starlight Glimmy with baby pants, sorry son spoiler alert you're wife is having a baby FYI”
Toren pretends to be surprised “What?! Really? Okay it's my turn to react with full excitement and joy”
Without warning he flies up yelling and spinning around making fireworks causing them to laugh with Discord still holding up the unicorn as they watched the Alicorn swirling around clouds screaming joyfully until he grabbed his wife in his arms hovering above his father smirking.
Starlight chuckles softly covering her mouth “Toren you're so dumb”
“And you're wonderful”
“Oh and I was hoping you'd say that I'm beautifully amazing with a baby”
“That to”, he says kissing her lips.
Smiling Discord rolls his eyes while enjoying the couple who were full of joy by their new addition to their family that Atara will someday play with as its big sister who doesn't know yet. Quietly Celestia walks down through the hallways with the filly on her back trying to find her family while talking to both of the small infant’s about their fathers.
Celestia smiles “Alright let's see where could you're silly daddy's be?”
Giggling the toddler poofs to the ground running fast that Celestia goes after her trotting slowly until she disappeared into thin air leaving the Alicorn to stop looking around quickly in fear, and greatly concerned unsure where she was until a very quiet baby laugh is heard in the far end of the hallway. With magic she teleports and sees the filly on top of the throne giggling wanting to play with her grandma, smiling the Alicorn levitates Atara above her head trying to breathe.
Celestia points “Now sweetheart you can't do that or you'll fall and get a big boo-boo, and boo-boo’s hurt”
Not wanting to cause tension she touches her nose with tiny hoof smiling giggling toward the mare who kisses the little filly’s head before laying down on her back placing Athena on her five month old belly, breathing slowly trying to calm down from the small scare. Gently she smiles as the toddler stood on her belly until she moved confused when the baby kicked on her claw-hoof that she whimpered.
Celestia chuckles “Oh It's okay Atara don't be scared that was the baby, it just wants to play and say hi”
Curious about her belly the filly tapped on the same place but nothing happened then she did it again, but it moved next to her back leg making the mare laugh when Atara moved around nervous. Quietly both Toren, Starlight, and Discord watched snickering as they continued to watch the toddler trying to get away from the strange monster that was attacking Celestia.
Discord chuckles whispering “I think you're daughter doesn't like your sibling very much kiddo, just wait until she finds out about your baby then she's doomed”
“Naw she’ll be fine it'll just time for her to adjust and to be educated old man”, he says before chuckling
As they continued to observe the two Discord smiled softly at the sight of his wife laughing and enjoying the game she created with the toddler, quickly he flew up above her head kissing the Alicorns head softly before whispering in her ear about the their new unexpected grandchild.
Celestia whispers confused “What?”
“Yeah they are and she's only two months behind you honey, surprise”
“Discord get your son right now..”
“Okay..”, obeying he teleports away then goes to the couple “Toren your mother wants to talk to you alone”
Toren sighs “Well Star pleasure doing business with you, but in case I don't make it out alive tell Athena and the baby that I loved them dearly, and that I died heroically”
“You'll be fine and whatever you do don't say anything stupid like Discord then you will be doomed”
Discord looks at her “Hey I'm standing right behind you missy!”
“Oh you were? Oh good at least I know you can still hear daddy dear”
“Alright Glimmy with baby pants you asked for it and must be punished!”
“No Discord get away from me!”
With magic she teleports on the other side of Toren who growls softly as he stroked her stomach with his tail teasing her whispering “Don't worry I'll protect you both from him”
Starlight blushes biting her lips closing her eyes “Babe leave the baby alone or I'll pull your ear so hard that you'll be very, very sorry”
“Oh really?”
“Yes now stop it and go to your mom or we'll both be in trouble”
Toren sighs “Okay”
Smiling he gave his wife a quick kiss on the cheek before teleporting a few inches away from his mother nervous with hints of humor to her “Hello mom how are you today?”, he says trying to be brave and charming
Celestia glares “Sit”
“Yes mother”
Quietly he waits as she used magic to teleport herself to sit down with his daughter in her arms, nervous he smiles softly toward his mother who was angry, and very intimating, Toren rubs his head “Mom I can explain you see on the way to the Crystal Empire, it's actually a funny story because Starlight was the one”
“Hush, I don't want to hear it. One I don't want your daughter to listen when she just learning how to talk. And secondly young colt I am very, very happy for you both knowing that your sibling will have another playmate that will be the same age”
Toren looks at her shocked almost confused “Wait you are?! Really?”
“Of course I am, I mean I'm surprised because I thought you wanted to wait until she was older?”
“Well that was the plan, but it just happened and was a quite a shock. I just received news about it today..”
“Really?”
“Yes, it was Starlight who made it possible and even waited until she was showing to reveal it to me, because I've been so focused on helping you as the new King that I didn't really see the signs, until now”
Celestia looks up before glancing at her son understanding “Oh I see, and Toren if you need help just ask, I'm more then willing to help honey”
“But mom I don't want you to stress because that's the biggest health risk for the baby, and I don't want anything to happen to it, or you…”
"Toren”
“I know I shouldn't worry but when Twilight fought with Starlight when she was with Athena she got so stressed that she almost lost her, and I don't want that to happen again, especially to you mother”
Celestia sighs softly “I know, but Toren your health is just as important, Starlight has told me you've been up for days doing so much work that you end up not eating, and when you do eat it's sweets, and great amounts of food. It's not healthy, and it's alright to ask for help, I maybe pregnant but I'm not helpless, so I'll make you a deal. If you promise to take of yourself, and let me help you I'll give you a special mother and son dinner date”
Toren looks at her surprised “A date huh? Hmm, sure why not it'll be fun”
“Good, I'm glad and leave the planning to me, but for now I'd like to see your wife, can you get her?”
“Sure, one sec”, quickly he teleports grabbing his wife without consent then returns with her by his side with a small grin.
“Hello Starlight”, her tone was gentle with a hint of sarcasm to tease her.
Nervous she smiles waving “Hello”
Discord poofs next to his wife smirking as he held his granddaughter in one arm in silence enjoying this embarrassing moment.
With a small smirk the Alicorn looks at her daughter in-law pointing “So I heard that you're expecting? How did I that happen? Discord before she answers can you take Atara to her room, that way she stays asleep”
“Aw but I want to see you get mad”
“Now Discord”
“Yes dear”
With a snap he disappears then poofs into their room and puts his granddaughter in the crib quietly. Slowly the draconequus steps back before tripping over a sneaky toy that he fell on his back hard unto the floor with a soft gasp from his mouth. Slowly Atara wakes up, but only to see her grandpa on the ground sleeping, with magic she teleports to his side. Worried she used her small mouth to tug his ear, then tapped his cheek softly, in tears scared that he was really hurt Atara teleports to the hallway and doesn't see anypony. Anxious the small filly tries once again and ends up in the everfree forest alone surrounded by trees with nothing but pure darkness.
Atara looks around scared yelling but no words came out, instead it was still noises wanting her parents that she began to cry to herself. In the distance she hears growling from the behind her, terrified the filly looked back and sees a wooden wolf snarling it's sharp bark teeth. Frozen in fear Atara couldn't move a muscle like she was stuck in glue as it moved closer to her growling, unable to function she remained still shaking like a leaf until it howled loudly trying to devour it's new prey. Scared the filly runs away in the bushes as it followed her instantly causing Atara to cry and scream afraid of the huge wooden monster, unaware of this new world she tripped over a rock falling down a small hill into a ditch full of water.
Growling the timberwolf jumped down in the swallowed trench hole with its eyes glowing deep red preparing itself to take its meal, Atara moved back in tears trying to escape but couldn't think of anything, and was unsure that her teleportation would work correctly. With nowhere to go she curled up against the muddy wall as it went closer using its body as a wall to keep her from getting away from it.
In the castle Discord gets up rubbing his head groaning “Oh my head, stupid toy, sorry if I woke you”, he stops when he sees the crib empty “Atara?! Bundle?! Where are you? Come out wherever you are. Oh Tia is going to kill me...what do I do? Come on Discord think, if I were a tiny filly where would I-”
Getting an idea he smirks “Of course, I'd go to my mother, well if I still had a mother..I'm sure she's fine”
With magic he teleports back to his family relaxed “So what did I what?!”
Confused he looks around the going into different places until he used magic to lift up both Celestia, Toren, and Starlight trying to find the filly, Starlight points smiling “Discord what are you doing? Put us down”
He poofed them to the ground “Sorry I thought Atara was with you because she's not in her crib”
“What?!”, worried the unicorn gets up “Discord where's my daughter?!”
“I don't know?! I was with her five minutes ago, I put her in the crib then I fell and hit my head, so I guess she must of thought I was hurt and tried to find you two..”
Worried the mare gets up looking around "Where could she be? She could be anywhere, what if she gets hurt, or worse she could be"
"Starlight don't worry, she'll be fine. I make sure of it and I will find her I promise", growling he glared at his father then kisses his wife "I'll be back with our daughter, stay here"
Without another moment to lose Toren uses magic to teleport outside the fly around in rapid speed, determined to find his daughter he close his eyes, using his gift to search for her in some way. Quietly he listened from any echos of her voice until he heard a timberwolf howling with a scream, a scream he never wanted to hear.
Quickly Toren yells "Atara!", as he flapped his wings he used magic to teleport inside the forest listening.
Trying to teleport he runs around moving fast until another bowl is heard near the left, quickly the stallion ran forward then saw it in a drench with his daughter partly covered in mud, he yells "Atara!"
Instantly he jumped down roaring at the wolf, showing dominance with his wings, and fangs as it snapped at him. With magic he strikes at its claws making it go backwards until it growled running away giving up on its kill entirely. Once it left he took some breaths before looking back at his daughter who was shaking terrified while crying to herself all curled up into a ball unable to move a single muscle.
Gently the stallion went to her "Hey bug it's okay it's me, it's daddy", carefully he touched her back, she flinched backing up crying "Hey it's daddy bug, don't be scared it's me"
Slowly she looked up and saw her father smiling softly as he laid down in the water, quickly she ran to him in tears she buried her face in his chest crying "Sshh it's okay baby, daddy is here, you're safe, sssh", he gave her a small kiss on the head as he nestled against her tiny body with his cheek almost in tears relieved that she was still alive.
In the castle Celestia and Discord watched helpless as the mare paced back and forth worried "Where is he? What if something went wrong and they're both hurt!"
Before either if them could respond the doors were opened and Toren walked inside with his daughter in one of his arms angry, but held a calm vibe so he wouldn't scare the filly, or his pregnant wife.
Starlight turned around "Toren!", quickly she ran to him and hugged him tightly with tears grateful that they were home "Oh you're both okay, you're both safe, and here"
"Toren is Atara"
Before Celestia could finish her son stopped her "She's fine, just scared", disappointed he glared at his father "No thanks you him"
Glaring back the draconequus stands up growling softly "And what's that suppost to mean?"
Toren growls while talking "You know exactly what I mean, you're the reason why she was almost killed! And if you can't even handle a simple task than how can you protect your unborn child!"
Shocked Starlight looked at him "Toren.."
"Star take Atara now", he says still looking at his father"
"Toren it was an accident"
"An accident that almost killed her!", he adds almost frightening her "Because of him she could have been torn apart by a timberwolf in a drench! Our child!"
Quickly the filly teleports to her grandmother scared crying, almost in tears the stallion looked at his daughter ashamed knowing he made her afraid. Slowly he walked forward but the filly went backwards making noises in tears hiding her face against his mother's belly, crying to herself not wanting him.
Starlight stops him "Toren don't she's scared", with her hoof she touched his chest trying to make her husband listen to her softly.
Understanding the situation Toren sighs nodding "I know she is", he moved his head to his father "See what this has done to her? My daughter is now frightened by me, her father, congratulations dad"
Disappointed toward her son Celestia spoke up "Tauntarus! That is enough, this was a terrible accident that you know well enough that your father would never want her hurt in anyway, and would do anything to keep her safe"
"But he didn't and if I didn't get to her in time she would have been killed!", her growls stepping forward "And you want me to say I'm sorry?! What if it's your child next?! If he can't even put my daughter to sleep who can't even yell for help without causing danger then how is he suppose to protect the baby!?"
Furious the draconequs looked at his son in tears yelling "I'm sorry! I'm sorry alright!", ashamed he points at himself "And knowing that this was my fault gives me a glimpse of what I'm not capable of! I mean I failed you by hurting your mother by leaving her alone when I face cased in stone! Then almost killing you years ago, and now...this..."
Crying he looks at his granddaughter, then looked at his wife's belly comparing them to his son, his baby he never got to raise at all, in tears he stood still as he spoke looking down "You don't think I have those thoughts, my biggest fear that I will fail my child the way I failed you...but worse because this time I'm here, and soon I'll end up making the same mistake by hurting it the same way I hurt you by not being able to raise it without letting it down, or putting it in danger...like her"
Slowly he looked at his son "I'm sorry kiddo for what I've done, and to you Starlight for almost killing her, the one thing that has given me hope, joy, and a purpose to protect not just her, and Athena, but her parents that I love who have given me happiness.", in tears he turns around "And now I have nothing..because of what I am I'll cause nothing but misery, danger, and fear to all"
Celestia looks at him in tears "Discord.."
Without another word the draconequs disappeared in a blink of an eye, in silence the family remained still as Atara looked around then at her parents who were sad, she ran to her mother to be picked up by her by making some noises to talk.
Slowly the mare grabbed her and then looked at her husband "I hope you're happy", shaking her head Starlight walked away with the filly in her arms quietly, and full of mixed feelings about today, and what has happened recently.
Guilty the stallion looked back at his wife before the doors closed, he sighs to himself then looked at his mother who was getting up slowly "Here mother let me help you", he says as he grabbed her arm and pulled her up carefully.
Seeing her in tears gave Toren a terrible feeling in his whole body knowing she was very hurt "Thank you", she says disappointed then slowly walked away from him before stopping "Toren out of all my years knowing you, I never thought that I'd see you do this, let alone somepony who had tried to prove himself that he's good, and has a purpose in this life. Then you remind him of the very creature that took him away from me, and you, and now I fear that it will happen again"
Crying she walked away without another word, leaving the stallion alone in his own thoughts toward himself, and how he had just ruined everything, his trust, his pride, his parents, his wife, everything he loves, and cares about by his words that he spoke about his daughter getting hurt, when really it was beloved father who got hurt in the worse way, all over again.

Poor Discord....my poor sweet Discord.
Life in the royal family was difficult, for weeks Toren has been doing his best to help both his mother, his wife, while trying to occupy his daughter, while doing his duties as King with the help of Luna who was always willing to assist him, the only one willing. Unfortunately after the fight with his father Toren has gotten the cold shoulder by both of the pregnant mares, and was lucky to even get a word of them without confrontation by their hormones, and random mood swings, it was rough.
Exhausted the stallion walked down the halls while reading one of the scrolls for his meeting he had to run with the leaders of all of the five kingdoms for a yearly plan for peace, yawning he read through it talking to himself "Greetings everypony, thank you all for coming, as all of you may know we have much to", unable to finish he passed out snoring to himself with the scroll over his head on the ground.
In the corner both Celestia and Starlight were laughing with Cadence as they discussed future baby activities for family reunions, once the turned to the side they saw the stallion sleeping in the middle of the hallway, Starlight yells "Oh no..Toren!"
Quickly they teleport next to him, Starlight grabbed his face "Honey?"
Slowly the stallion made a noise before barely opening his eyes "Hi..", he says tired as he strugggled to keep them open.
"Daddy what happened?", Cadence asks as she sat down beside him.
Unable to move his head by three days of not sleeping he used his tail to point at the pregnant mare "Them, being mean by meaness", he says trying to talk as he closed his eyes having no more energy.
Concerned the mares looked at eachother, Celestia sighs "Oh he can't do the meeting like this, I'll have to step in and do it for him. Starlight take Toren to your room, while we attend the board meeting"
She nods "Okay", with magic she teleports the stallion to the bed with her laying next to him worried, with magic she summons a bowl of cold water and uses a towel to gently rub his warm head.
Without warning Athena poofs infront of her "Hi daddy you awake?"
Quickly the filly goes to him trying to have fun with by tapping his nose before leaning her head against his arm to listen "Athena don't honey daddy is sick, and I'm trying to help him", she says softly while kissing her cheek "And he needs to sleep okay?"
She sighs "Okay", in defeat she lays by her chest watching her mother "Mommy? Is daddy dying?"
"No, daddy was silly and forgot to sleep again", she say before glaring at him hope he was listening "And refused to ask mommy to help him when he wasn't okay, because he a meaner"
"Why?", she asks curious.
Gently she looked at her "Because daddy hurt grandpa and that hurt mommy, and grandma"
"Oh, that's why grandpa gave me that note?", she asks trying to understand.
Starlight looks at her "What note?"
"This one", with magic to summons the envelope "See"
"Can you read it to me"
"Sure", she says as she opened it "Dear Chaos, this is for you and your sister, I'm going to your Auntie Fluttershy's for awhile but don't tell your parents or they will try to to find me, and grandpa needs to help your Auntie Fluttershy with her cottage, and the animals new home because it got destroyed. So I'll be gone for a little bit but I'll be back soon I promise, take care of your mother, your sister, and your father, but most important take care of grandma she'll need your help, and needs you chaos to keep her happy until I get back to see her. I love you my bundle of chaos, love grandpa"
Starlight sighs as she tried to keep her husband's fever down "Did you hear that honey?", she asks softly but held a glare.
"Mommy you're doing that mean voice again", she giggles "But you only do it to dad when he's in trouble"
"That's because he is"
"But why daddy has been working to help grandma sleep, and is sick now. How can he be in trouble?"
She sighs "Because your daddy said something very mean to grandpa so he went to see your Aunt so he could try to feel better and away from his family because it made him very sad". she says as she pulled his ear while stroking his head.
Annoyed he made a noise before looking at her "Honey don't", he groans to himself moving his head to the pillow away from her exhausted.
Gently Athena went to his face "Daddy is it true that you hurt grandpa?"
Slowly opening his eyes looking at her "Yes, and he's very sorry, especially to your mother", gently he smiled at his wife while saying sorry with his lips, then shifted his eyes back to his daughter "And once I'm better he will make grandpa okay again so he can come home and see you, and family we'll be all better again", he says with a small smile.
Giggling she touched his nose "You sound funny"
Toren chuckles "Yeah because daddy forgot to sleep because he's been busy with silly king rules", he says as he stuck his tongue at her exhausted.
"It's okay daddy you can sleep now, and mommy will help you", she before looking at her "Oh and Atara will to, and me"
Hearing her comment made them both smile with quiet laughs, Toren lifts his head "Yeah? Well good daddy is glad he'll have three helpers to make him better again", he says kissing his wife's cheek, then kisses his daughter's face.
"Dad that tickles, stop it", she says laughing to herself when he peach fuzz brushed against her cheeks.
He smiles "Why is that?", he says as he poked her tiny nose.
Giggling the little toddler points at him "Because you have black stuff on face", she says touching his black peach fuzz.
Amused by her words he pretends to not know as he spoke looking around "Wait where? What's on my face?", he asks pretending to be frightened "Is it bad and mean?"
She shakes his head "No"
"It is scary?", he asks shocked.
Smiling Starlight nods "Oh yes if you look very close"
Right when she said Toren looked at her narrowing his eyes "Oh really scary huh?", he growls softly before grabbing her and puts her back sideways against his left arm as he tickled her sides with his other arm with his claw-hoof while rubbing his face against her neck with small hidden kisses in between.
Laughing by the experience the mare blushes trying to escape "Toren quit it!", she says still laughing.
"Hold on mommy I help!", trying to be a hero the filly climbs on his back and bites his ear "Daddy stop!"
Feeling her sharp teeth made the stallion growl chuckling "Ow Athena let go of daddy's ear!"
Glaring with a smirk the stallion grabbed her with his claw-hoof and wrapped her in his tail "There now mommy is all mine now!", he says as he quickly began to tickle his pregnant wife while kissing her a couple of times to be a tease.
Not wanting to have her mother get hurt the filly tries to move around "Dad no you'll hurt mommy!', she says trying to escape then remembered biting his ear that gave her an idea and bites his tail hard.
Toren yelped snapping "Ow no Athena!", growling he glares at her annoyed as yells "Athena stop!"
Frightened she teleports to the ground almost in tears with her tail curled next to head, she begins to cry to herself that made the stallion realize that he snapped at his daughter when she was just trying to help Starlight and the baby. Carefully Toren sighs before using magic to pick her up but to his surprise she teleports hiding in the closet, and closed the door. Feeling terrible he lets go of his wife before quietly making his way to the closet to apologize to his young daughter so she wouldn't be sad anymore, or be afraid of him so she not think of him as a mean monster.
Gently he knocked the door "Athena.."
"Go away!", she yells in tears while crying.
Hearing the sound of her voice broke Toren's heart an inch that his chest began to ache knowing that his daughter was upset, afraid, and want to see him, slowly he opened the door as Starlight watched on the bed as he laid his body halfway in the closet, he moved some boxes to the other side of the wall that revealed his daughter crying in the corner. Understanding her sensitive side the stallion allowed her to turn away with a small glare in tears not wanting to talk, or see him, slowly he moved his arms and laid his head over them in a deep stare giving Athena the time to calm down as he watched her sitting in the corner it reminded him of he once was, a lost hybrid that was full of confusion, and wanted to find happiness, his purpose, and where he belonged in the world, and he learned that because of her, his little miracle who saved him.
Toren lets out a sigh with a small smile "Hey chaos, you okay?", he waits for an answer but nothing happened so he kept talking to her softly with compassion "Look daddy is really sorry for being mean, it's just Daddy's tail is silly and makes him mad sometimes, and his ear does it to because they are mean like Daddy when you were just trying to help mommy and the baby not get hurt. And I'm so glad you were so brave by trying to save them, like you saved me when Daddy was sad"
Curious the filly turned her head "I did, how?". she looked at him "How did me save?"
Softly he smiles "Well a long time ago before you were born Daddy was all alone and sad then I got hurt, here I'll show you"
When he backed up she followed him curious as the stallion sat down "So before Daddy met your mother I got hurt by a mean stallion", he moved his wing that showed a scar on his left side near his ribs "This happnened when I was in war helping others, Daddy got hurt so grandma made me all better by making me immortal, and that means that Daddy can't go away"
Confused she tilts her head "Why can't you leave? Auntie Applejack's family can, so why can't you?', she asks curious.
Trying to find a way to help her understand the stallion looked around then grabbed a book that was by the dresser, then poofed a pen and began to draw a picture, softly he blew on the drawing. Out of nowhere it came to life and walked on the ground that looked like Toren, but smaller with black lines that was silent, confused the picture looked at Athena, then at Starlight who had her body at the end of the bed with her arm under her head smiling, yet held slight confusion.
Quietly the mare looked over watching her husband drawing another picture, and then other ones with magic to speed up the process that remained in the book until he allowed them to enter the story when they were used, with a snap the drawing of himself went to the book when he closed it with a smirk, he looks at his daughter who giggled by his stupid smile.
Finally getting into the mindset the stallion clears his throat before opening the book again then flipped a page "Now you ready for daddy to tell the story on how you saved me and why he is immortal?", he asks her in full confidence.
She smiles "Yeah, can mommy listen to?"
"Sure, here", with magic he poofed her to the bed with Starlight with some popcorn for his wife and applejuice.
Toren looks at them "Alright now this story is a tale about how my daughter saved me from not being sad no more", he says making a sad face to make her laugh as the pregnant mare giggles along with her, smirking the stallion poofed on some black glasses that had no lenses to be more efficient.
Wanting to know the filly points sighing "Dad the story?"
"Alright", he says smiling "A long time ago I was all alone, sad, and wanted to be happy again but didn't know how after I was injured by the evil shadow king. However, it wasn't until I became a father to a little foal named Cadence who allowed me to see the good in the world by her kindness, her heart, and how loving so was to all she came to know in her life"
Athena points excited "Look mom it's my sister KK!", she comments as the picture flew around them.
"Yeah I know and she's with daddy to", she says as she ate some popcorn as the stallion continued.
Getting into the story the stallion kept going unaware that his mother, and his daughter were walking inside with Atara as he told them about how he saved his friends from a bugbear when they were in danger, then meeting the princesses and how nervous he was to be introduced after being gone for so long, and was worried they would not accept him after leaving them years ago, and his daughter Cadence because he was still sad, and wanted to find happiness again, but didn't know how to find it.
They sat down on the bed behind them watching as Toren continued "So as I went to see them the white one like grandma walked to me all sad to, and made me wonder if she was just like me, and turns out she was and held a secret that made her all sad"
Curious little Athena looks back "You were?", she asks wanting to know the truth.
"Yes I was, because I missed your daddy very much", she says smiling almost in tears by her hormones while remembering the day when she told her son that she was his mother that almost ruined her complete trust that they made together.
An hour has passed and Toren continued telling the story about the gala, and how he told Starlight about his curse, and how he wanted to be with her but was afraid that his sadness would ruin his chance "So this mare full of beauty took my hoof and wanted to be with me, but she was also sad, however it wasn't meant to be until I made her a deal that if we kept our happiness a secret then we'd be happy to, and no longer be sad anymore. So after we talked it over, she agreed"
"But what was the happiness?", Athena asks with wonder trying to figure it out.
Cadence smiles whispering "Hold on we'll have to wait and see what happens next", she says softly to her little half sister.
As he continued to tell more about his story he tells them about how his happiness allowed Starlight to fall in love with him, not only that but together their love made them stronger, and that she took his sadness away with kindness, she gave to him to help save their bundle of joy. Not wanting to make it so long he made it simple and fun at times, then discussed on how he got sick that the mare of his dreams had to help him feel better by taking their joy, and placed it in her heart where it was safe from harm, and from all the sad things that could destroy their happiness, forever, and for all eternity.
Smiling almost in tears Toren spoke softly "So as weeks passed their happiness continued to grow even more that one day the shadow king wanted to take it from them with a cruel, mean words to ruin the joy they cherished. So I didn't want that to happen so I used the light that was given to me by my friends, my family, and your mother and destroyed him, and his darkness, his sadness away for the better. Once I returned into the castle there it was...my happiness that I saw with my own eyes, it made me so happy that I cried tears of joy knowing that I was no longer sad, but the opposite, I was glad"
Athena looked at the picture closely, and saw herself in her mother's pictures arms with her dad, she looks at them, then it hit her that she knew what the happiness was, the filly points at her chest "Am I the happiness daddy?"
In tears he smiles as he put the book down so the three pictures could hover in front of them as he sat next to the bed "Yes, you are and always will be, because you were my happiness that daddy needed to be happy, so he wouldn't be sad", gently he held her close to his shoulder as tears fell down his face "You mean so much to me that I never want to be sad ever, because if you are then daddy is sad to, and daddy is really sorry for making you, mommy, and everypony else sad to"
Athena looked at his cheek "It's okay daddy don't be sad, it will be better soon, and we all be here again", she says as she wrapped her little arms halfway around his neck as he cried to himself, Cadence nuzzled her head against his to help him.
Carefully Starlight walked on the bed toward her husband to kiss her head "We're sorry to honey", she says in tears.
Slowly he lifts his head and held her cheek "Me to", he admits "And I will fix this, and bring him back home"
In tears Celestia placed her hoof on his shoulder "We know you will, but for now you need to rest and get better"
Nodding he tiredly climbed on the bed with his family, Celestia wrapped her wing around him as Athena snuggled against her chest between his arms with Atara, as his wife laid by his side with his wing that went over her like a blanket. Smiling Cadence teleports next to her grandmother right next to the stallion's cheek with a kiss before laying her head beside his, and together they all fell asleep as a family, that was almost perfect, so during the night Luna wrote a letter to Twilight to inform her if she saw Discord to let them know at once by letter.
Author's Note
Oh the struggles of family, and yet eventhough it can be hard there are moments where sadness, or fights enter with anger, and hurtful words that with happiness can be brought back by a simple page in a book to bring those around you together all in peace.
A few days and Toren was back to his old-self with the help of his three nurses who were devoted to make sure he was taken care of by staying in bed, eating, and sleeping. Quietly the stallion went to the throne room and saw his mother signing papers while eating some strawberries all focused as she yawned to herself not tired, but from all the writing that bored her almost to sleep. Smiling the stallion flew up and sat on his throne on the right beside her, he looked over and saw Luna who signing off the papers that were passed down on the other side of her own throne on the left, smirking he tried to reach up to take one of the strawberries from the bowl.
"Don't even think about it", Celestia says annoyed as she was still signing her papers.
Blushing he looked at her "How did you know it was me?"
"I'm your mother, shouldn't you be helping your wife pack for your trip to pony-ville?", she says as she levitates the bowl to next to her legs and eats one.
"I was but the girls insisted to help so I came to help you before we leave", he comments smiling "So you can relax"
The mare stops instantly then looked straight forward almost glaring at the door, Luna turned her head "Sister are you"
Before she could finish Celestia used magic to throw Toren against the ground "Relax?! Relax?! I be relaxed when you bring your father home to me!", her eyes were narrowed as she walked forward "So I suggest you go to your room and help your wife pack before I pack you into a suitcase and ship you to pony-ville myself! Now go..."
Her tone frightened to stallion that he stood up as she stared at him until he turned around running, she grunts before breathing to herself "Sister are you alright?", she says concerned watching as the mare remained standing.
"I'm fine, lets continue", she comments before sitting back down while eating a strawberry while signing papers again.
Slowly the stallion stops to catch his breath that faded into a smirk "Wow never thought I'd see that", chuckling he started to walk "Probably her hormones starting up again, I just hope that my wife doesn't have that happen or I'm doomed"
As he kept walking down he could hear his daughters laughing with his wife and it made him curious, carefully her opened the door to peak and saw them playing as they were putting things in the suitcase for him, Starlight puts them inside it, they giggle as she closed it but was attacked by them who tickled her all over, seeing them playing softened his heart to melt.
Toren smiles then used his magic to levitate his two devious daughters above his head "Honey have you seen the girls they appear to be missing, and I really want to say goodbye before I leave", he comments with a small wink
"Daddy we're up here!", Athena smirks tapping his head "Your magic took us again"
He looks up "Oh there you are", smiling he dropped them on the pillows before kissing his wife on the lips "Hi"
Starlight smiles "Hi", softly she looked at him "Sorry for the mess we got distracted"
"I can see that, here malady allow me", smiling he used magic to place everything inside the suitcase then closed it "There now I can help you even more", gently he kisses her lightly that deepened into a more loving kiss as he placed his claw-hoof on her belly before he rubbed his nose against hers "Feel better?"
"Always", she says as she kissed his nose.
Athena makes a gross face "Eew dad, mom we are right here", she says as Atara nods her head happy before making the same face.
Toren chuckles "Whoops I forgot again, silly me", with magic he puts them on his back "Oh no they got me help!"
Dramatically he falls on his stomach with his head next to his wife's body as the girls giggle when he fakes his death. Worried about her dad Atara flew off his back and went to his face tapping it, he doesn't move so she then tapped his arm and nothing happened that she began to get sad as tears fell down her face while making some sounds concerned.
Athena saw and teleports next to her "Hey it's okay Atti daddy is okay, look watch", she used her tail to tickle his nose "And wait for it", she kept doing it trying to make him laughing or sneeze "Come on dad you can't fight my tickle tail"
Smirking he tried to not laugh instead he made a small chuckle before grabbing her tail lifting her up by his face as his head rose up "Gotcha! Now let it be known that only I am the tickle torture hear, understood?"
Annoyed she folds her arms "Okay", she glares "Understood"
"Good, now be good for your mother, I'll be back soon", gently he gave them all a kiss, even the baby "Love you"
Starlight kisses him "Love you more, and be careful"
"I will", with magic he puts the suitcase on his back and wrapped it with his saddle bag belt under his armpits above his shoulder to hold it from falling during his flight "Alright maladys be good, and I'll be home with grandpa soon"
With magic he opened the large window doors that lead to their balcony that was lower then the one his mother would use, before he took off Atara grabbed back leg sitting on his hoof making a noise, curious he looked down "Hey come on bug daddy has to go and see grandpa so he can bring him home, can you please let me go?"
In silence she growled making a whining noise holding his leg tighter, Toren sighs "Atara please? Daddy needs to go now"
Giggling the mare watched with Athena standing by the doors "It's okay honey you can take her, I can have Athena help me at home"
The filly nods "Yeah dad go ahead besides mom can help me with magic and you can help Atti practice flying"
Toren looks at her "Hey not a bad idea, good thinking Chaos", he says proud of his ten year old daughter.
She smirks shrugging "Ah I have my moments, come on mom lets go"
"Okay, bye honey", she says teleporting to give him a kiss before kissing her daughter on the head "Have fun with daddy", gently she nuzzled her cheek against hers saying goodbye before walking away to catch up to Athena.
"Mom lets go!", she says screaming from the hallways.
Starlight yells back "I'm coming!", she sighs as she walking away from her husband.
Smiling he shakes his head before looking at his daughter still holding his leg "Okay bug you can let go they're gone", he says kissing her tiny head with a small nuzzle with his forehead "Come on or we can't go see grandpa"
Her ears perked up as she looked at him who gave her a wink smiling that she smiled before teleporting to his head making noises wanting to go, he laughs "Okay hold on tight and here we go!", he opened his wings and flew up to the clouds as she laughed with him, both smiling by the sky, and feeling the wind against their faces.
In the night Toren yawns as he kept flying then looked at his daughter who was sleeping against his chest in his left arm sucking her lion paw, she maybe three but she held the mindset as if she was one, he knew she was smart but wondered if she'd ever speak, or mature to her age when she grew into a mare, to him she looked normal with no sign of deformed features. However her reactions are different compared to Athena's, she's more sensitive, tender-hearted, with care to her parents, and attached to them both, but not as much as him which made the stallion feel special that he was her favorite.
Slowly the stallion lands on the ground near Fluttershy's door and knocks on it a few times "Coming", the mare answers as she opened the door with a gasp "Oh Toren hello, um what brings you here? Is everything alright?", she asks worried.
"Yes everything is fine I'm here to see my father is her around?", he says trying to look inside but she blocks his way "Fluttershy, what's going on?"
She blushes "I um, well he's", she sighs "He's inside sleeping see", she says as she revealed him sleeping on the couch.
Quietly he sighs "How long has he been like this?", he says as he looked at him and noticed that his body was bruised, and that his eyes lids were a faded black from lack of sleep, his breathing was heavy with a wheezing sound with bandages on some parts of his body, mostly his left arm.
She sighs "Since yesterday, he fell when he was trying to finish with the animals home near my house, and some wood broke when the beavers ate it, then he got hurt...I had to have Harry carry him inside, he has a fever and bruises, I've bandaged some that were deeply cut, his left arm, shoulder, and his tail"
Seeing his father this way broke the stallion's heart that he sighs "Fluttershy can you take Atara with you for tonight, I'll watch him and do what I can to heal him.", he says softly with worried eyes.
"Of course", she says as she took the filly and flew up to her hoof to rest with her for the night.
With magic the stallion puts the suitcase next to the wall by the door then grabbed her medical bag while teleporting a bowl of warm water with towels, slowly he breathes fire into the lamp before ripping some clean white bandages making the draconequs slowly open his eyes that adjusted to the small lamp light, revealing his son.
"Toren?", he asks weakly trying to see better before grunting to himself when he moved.
Gently the stallion lifts him up with his claw-hoof under his back "Easy dad don't force yourself, let me help you", slowly he moved him so the draconequs could lay his head against the back on the couch as the stallion sat beside him.
With magic he took off the bandages that revealed his flesh wounds, sighing he put a small towel in the hot warmer and slowly rubbed it on his woulds, Discord flinched "Ow, that hurts!", he growled softly annoyed.
"Hold still and it won't hurt", he says as he kept going gently "If I don't they'll get infected", slowly he used magic to wrap up his wounds in great care so he wouldn't harm his father more.
Trying to concentrate the stallion kept going then used magic to summon a bowl of soup then lays down his father with a blanket to keep him warm before lifting the spoon to his mouth "Open", he instructs gently in a low tone strict to be in charge "Dad open you'll feel better"
"I don't want it, I'm not hungry", he growls annoyed "Why are you really here?". he says glaring at him
Toren looked at him "For you, mother is worried, and I came to bring you home", he stops and puts down the bowl before looking at him who had his head turned away as he spoke "And to say that I'm sorry, what I said to was cruel, and wrong"
In silence Discord turned away, and kept his face toward the couch listening almost in tears as his son continued with tears in his eyes "I truly am sorry for hurting you, and for making you feel worthless, for making you believe that you'll my mother again with your baby...my sibling that you gave to me", as tears feel down his face the stallion looked down "For years I had a father, or a mother until ten tears when they came in my need when I was dying, and in trouble when Starlight took my place...and even during that time I blamed you for hurting me when I'm the one who made you hurt when I took her away from me"
Crying Toren wiped his eyes "You, you never once questioned it, you just went along when you knew how I felt, and when it was her instead of bringing it up you became my father, her father by helping her be able to have hope, joy, laughter", he looked at him "And I reward you with this...pain, and reminded you of that day when we almost killed each other, and when we mated with our instincts that took us away into monsters, my father that I hurt, blamed, and took you away from mom"
Discord couldn't hear another word that he instantly went to his son and hugged him with his knees on the ground in tears holding his child tightly as he wept with him "Ssh no more son, please forgive me", he asks trying to talk through his tears.
Sobbing the stallion closes his eyes crying "I already have years ago father", sniffing he buried his head in his shoulder "I'm sorry for everything, for all the pain I caused you, for allowing you to hurt because of my sin, and my terrible words"
"Toren", gently he moved his forehead to his in tears wile holding the back on his neck "You are my son, and nomatter what you say or do I'll always love you..please forgive yourself, and allow yourself to be happy with peace", he looked at him "You are more then my son, you are my miracle who saved me so I could be with you and your mother, and your girls who are my second blessing that you gave to me to love just as much as I love you, my son", he hugs him tightly sighing to himself as tears streamed down his face.
Together they both wept in peace as they forgave each other in silence by their embrace not wanting to let go as Fluttershy watched quietly in tears smiling grateful that both of her friends were at peace with themselves, and no longer in regret.
In the morning they were all eating breakfast, enjoying one another's company as Discord was back to his old self as he was helping Atara eat her food by turning them into shapes to make it fun for his granddaughter as he ate his chocolate cake. Smirking the stallion was enjoying his bowl of cereal oats with Fluttershy while eating some tasty buttered, flaked biscuits.
The mare when the young pegasus had food all over her tiny face "Oh Atara here let me help you", gently she grabbed a towel to wipe her face as she whines by the towel "Almost done and there", she says with a tiny smile then gave her a cookie "Here"
Excited the filly made noises then ate the cookie before grabbing another piece of her squared chomped pancake making Toren chuckle "Now bug you need to hurry, and finish so we can help Auntie Fluttershy with her animals won't that be fun?"
Eating she nods making Discord laugh with the adults as they finished their meals before the draconequs poofed everything back to it's rightful place "Come on my dear lets go", he says as he picked up the filly with his good arm then flew out the door with the other two following him smiling by flying to the broken up area where the animals were.
Fluttershy gasps "Oh my goodness", she lands trying to calm them down "Now now it's alright I'm sure we will fix the place up soon, I know it's been hard but I have some helpers here to help me"
Angry the animals begin to throw things on the ground making Atara hide behind her father's leg, gently he looked at her then use magic to freeze the animals from moving "Okay, that's enough. Look we will do what we can to help but we need you to cooperate and listen, and by today we will finish your homes, but we'll need your help, deal?"
Quietly the animals looked at eachother then went into circle to mingle before the beaver goes up front and speaks with noises, Atara walks forward and grabs the stick with can smile and gives it to the beaver, then flaps her wings to pick up the sticks and outs in in a pile.
Toren smiles "Good job bug, Come on let's get to work and make a home", with magic he picks up a hammer spinning it around all cool.
"I agree, here Atara some goggles so you won't hurt your eyes", she says putting the glasses on her head "Alright let's get started everypony, we need all your help"
Excited the animals pitch in as the draconequus carefully used magic to levitate the wall that Toren builds before the stallion quickly moved to put the other one up as Fluttershy flies up with Atara to put down the roof to hold the walls together. Wanting to help the filly flies down to hold the wall with her dad who smiles proudly as he used magic to hammer the nails in place.
At last the homes were finished and ready to be used by the animals who cheered smiling as the stallion used magic to create a stream so water could flow down to the small wheel that made the homes more life like, and homey.
Proud of their group they sat down as Fluttershy brought some lemonade on a plate with cups "Here, and thank you all so much", she says grateful as she gave Atara a box of applejuice, and helped feed her a containor of yogurt.
Toren smiles "No probelm it was fun, and thanks to Atara we were able to help them, isn't that right bug?", he says as he ate his sandwhich smirking as his daughter looks at him before taking a bite of her yogurt excited.
As he looked at his granddaughter Discord began to think about his wife as he drinks the lemonade "Yeah she did, she was very clever even though she can't talk, she has her own way to communicate", he admits as he took a bite of his sandwhich until he groans quietly.
"Oh Discord are you alright?", Fluttershy asks worried as she feed her another spoon of yogurt.
He rubs his arm "Yeah I'm okay I'm just sore from yesterday, and I guess doing all of this made my arm hurt even more", he admits annoyed at his own arm that was bothering him.
Wanting to help Toren looked at him "Do you want me to heal you?"
"You can try, I doubt it will work I've already tried to heal myself, and nothing", he says before groaning again making the filly laugh smiling.
Fluttershy giggles "Now Atara that's not very nice your grandpa is hurting, here open your mouth", she instructs as she gives her another spoon full of yogurt.
Discord smirks "Naw she's okay, besides I like it when she laughs it reminds me that I'm still cool"
"You are cool dad even if you do get into trouble", Toren says smiling while using magic to fix his wounds "Why won't this work usually that spell would work instantly but it's not, maybe it has to heal on its own"
"Maybe, oh well at least I have my arm attached", Discord says rubbing his son's head with have is good arm before poofing himself up "Now I think it's time we go home before your mother worries herself to labor", he adds smirking.
Fluthershy gasps "Oh Discord you didn't tell me Celestia was expecting?! Oh congratulations! ", she says giving him a hug happily.
"Thanks, and I'll send you an invite once we find a date for the baby party thing that you mares do these days", he says as he grabbed his granddaughter "You ready to go home bundle?"
Excited the filly makes noises as she touched his nose, he smiles "Okay let's go, bye Fluttershy!"
"Bye Discord be careful!"
"I will! Come on son lets go!"
Toren yells smiling "I'm coming!", with magic he summons his suitcases and adjusted the strap to his shoulders before hugging her "Bye Fluttershy, thank you"
"You're welcome, and make sure he rests and doesn't do to much or his arm won't heal properly", she says kindly "Tell Starlight hi for me"
"I will, bye", he says as he flaps away to meet his father in the sky.
She waves at them "Goodbye!"
Together they flew in silence, Atara was on her grandfather's back giggling to herself by the different, colorful sights, each male had a moment to look at one another before moving their heads forward.
Discord clears his throat "So um, how's your mother doing kiddo?"
"She's fine"
"Yeah? Well that's good, how's Starlight, and little Chaos?"
The stallion looked at him "Dad what's wrong?"
The draconequus flew up and landed on the roof of the castle with Atara climbing on his head until he grabbed the filly who tried to get away from his grasp as the stallion lands next to him quietly.
"Dad?", he asks trying to reach him.
Discord sighs as he looked over to the horizon "I don't know son, just after what you said made me remember where I failed you, where I hurt you deeply in many ways by taking you away from your daughter, and then almost killing Atara when she ended up in the ever free forest with her new magic"
Guilty the stallion sighs "Dad what's happened with Atara was an accident and the things I said were terrible, and to compare it to your child was wrong, and I'm so sorry",
"I know you are kiddo, but still I'm afraid that I'll fail this baby the way that I failed you when I met you after the gala, your coronation, and even now makes me worry that I won't be the father that your mother sees in me that I can't see within myself.", he sighs looking down "I just worry that I will never be good enough for my family"
Ubderstanding his feelings Toren puts his claw-hoof on his lion paw "I know dad, I know how you feel, and I still feel that fear of not being able to fully provide the best way to help my children, and to be the father they need as they grown up. And I know what it's like to feel that you'll never be truly enough"
"Yeah same here son, well um I'm going to see your mother", smirking the draconequus gives his granddaughter to his son "Here bundle go to your daddy while grandpa sees grandma, and baby"
Smiling Toren chuckles "Have fun"
"Oh I will make sure of it"
"Be careful mom might try to kill you with her hormones"
"Oh believe me she'll be very happy when I", he whispers about his plan making the stallion look at him disgusted "Say hi to Glimmy with baby pants for me! Bye Bundle!"
Shaking his head the stallion looks at his daughter "Oh Atara what are we going to do with him huh?", he asks her as she looked at him then looked forward sucking her hoof making him laugh "Yeah I agree he is a silly isn't he? Now come on let's go see mommy, and your sister bug"
With magic he teleports in the hallway "Huh? Weird that was suppose to make us go to my room, maybe mommy is napping"
Wanting to be out down the filly teleports from his left arm to the ground running "Atara wait!", quickly he ran after her "Atti no!"
With magic he grabbed the filly who tried to get away from his grasp that she hit his eyes with her elbow "Ow!", Toren fell on the ground with the filly that tumbled across the floor that she cries.
Slowly the stallion rose his head up shaking it sideways until he saw his tiny daughter crying, gently he picked her up "Hey it's okay bug ssh I'm sorry", he says as he kissed her head while rubbing her back.
"Daddy! Daddy?!", Athena yells running worried.
Hearing her voice made him instantly look forward concerned "Athena, what's wrong?"
She stops in tears "It's mommy"
"Where is she?"
"She's in her room, and won't come out, and I heard her crying", she says scared "Mommy is all alone"
Unable to speak another word the stallion looked at her, then moved his eyes different ways before understanding "Oh no.."
Carefully without wanting to scare his daughter he looked at her using his eyes to make her calm "Athena I'm sure mommy is fine, here why don't you take your sister and go see grandpa, I'll meet you there later okay?", he says as he stood up
"Okay dad", she agrees sighing "Come on sis let's go play with grandpa and grandma"
Soon after they teleported away Toren used magic to go to the door knocking on it a few times "Star it's me, I'm home", he says trying to not sound or be worried "Can you unlock the door so I can see you?"
Quietly he waits until the door clicked allowing him to enter, gently he walked over to the bed where she was laying on the left side holding a tiny blanket in her arms crying to herself, she looked at him them looked away sniffing.
Softly he went to the bed and kissed her head stroking her mane almost in tears "Honey, what's wrong? Talk to me, what is it?"
In tears she held the blanket tighter trying to talk "I lost the baby", she admits heartbroken.
Those words instantly made him break in half unable to speak as tears fell down his face instantly leaving him only to hold her with his head on her shoulder until Starlight broke wailing to herself covering her mouth trying to control her emotions when sounds would come from her mouth. Lost in his own tears Toren held her tightly allowing his wife to bury her face in his chest holding the blanket as if it was her child unable to speak knowing that they lost their baby.
Days turned into weeks and Starlight spent most of her times in her room, or with the girls in ponyville for play dates, as for Toren he would help with meetings, his duties as King while doing his best to comfort his wife. Filled with understanding he allowed her space to mourn, however it began to slowly turn to complete silence between the two, the couple were lost in their own grief, a mare who was emotional and always tired by lack of nurishment, and a stallion who was silent that held it in by working.
Quietly Celestia watched her son sighing papers on his throne worried about him, slowly she walked over to his side, and sat on her throne with a sigh "Toren, honey I know that your trying to move on but overworking yourself"
"Mother please I need to focus in honor to finish until Luna takes my place in a hour", he says without looking at her in a soft, mean tone.
Not wanting to upset him the mare gets up walkinv away from him quietly as he continued, Celestia looks at him one last time before closing the door to walk down through the hallway surprised to see Discord still awake sitting on the balcony all alone.
"Discord?", she asks as she went to him.
His ears perked up and turned around then looked at her softly "Hello Tia, did you talk to him?"
"I tried, but he told me to leave", she sighs as she sat down "Oh Discord what do we do? It's been weeks since they have spoken to one another, it's almost like they are blaming eachother for this...and poor Athena keeps asking me why her mother is always crying, then asks why Toren won't play with her anymore, she's so confused, worried, and really sad"
Understanding he wrapped his arm around her sighing "I know Tia, they just need time to grieve, and I hope that soon they'll be able to move past this terrible experience so they can be there for the girls"
"And what if they never do? What if they end up spilting apart, and Starlight ends up leaving with one of the girls, or both of them to be away from our son", she says trying not to cry but the hormones "I can't bear to lose my son again"
"You won't Tia", gently he kisses her head as he lifts her chin up "Look tomorrow I'll take Toren for a fly, and you can be here with Starlight, and then we'll bring them together for a double dinner date", he smiles softly "What do you say?"
In tears she smiles "I think that's a wonderful idea Dizzy, I just hope it works for their sake, for their girls"
"Me to Tia, me to", he says as he gave her a small kiss before allowing her to rest her head in his chest, and together they watched the stars twinkle in the night sky.

Losing a loved one is hard, and can make people change. We have recently suffered a lose and are still grieving. But in time it will get better with family, friends, and alittle faith.
Yawning Toren walked down to the balcony and used magic to rise the sun to the sky slowly to give the word back its vibrant colors to life. Quietly the stallion poofed into the throne room while having magic to pick up a quill, and some scrolls so he could sign them before breakfast.
"Hey bug wanna help daddy?", he asks her in a soft tone "Okay here you go bug, you can do this one"
With magic he summoned some pieces of paper and a box of crayons, Toren poofed to the ground to lay on his stomach like a lion to sign the scrolls, and puts them in a big box so she wouldn't get them. Smiling he allowed her to color as he did his job so he could bond with his three year old daughter who to his surprise found it odd that she was up so early.
Toren looks over to his daughter "Here Atara here is another rule to sign off", he says as he made a fake rule to give to her as a distraction.
Wanting to have some fun he placed his real work aside so he could create somd fake rules for her to co-sign as he did one real rule after another made up rule, as he kept working so he wouldn't fall to behind and have to work overtime.
It was 8am and Toren was going over the fake rules with his daughter who used her crayons to sign them in her own way as he discussed about them and asked her opinion on each one to see if she could communicate back, with words if he was lucky to hear any.
"Okay Queen Atara next rule is about having a nap time at 12pm til 3pm with lunch around 11:30pm that involves veggies, cookies, and some chocolate milk on the side? Should we approve or decline?", he asks acting all serious and with a pair of fake black glasses on his face.
With her eyes the filly looked at the paper and used her crayons to color all of it then made some noises to have him look at all again thinking it was a new game, and wanted to keep playing to hear her father talk in his funny low voice. The stallion clears his throat as he looked at it without realizing that Luna was watching from afar for a moment with a small smile.
"Oh I agree Queen Atara that is a wonderful idea, I will add playtime around 4:30 until 6pm, now any others suggestions?", he asks with a grin.
Giggling the filly tapped on his leg and then pointed at her mouth making noises, Toren smiles then looks at the clock and see the time "Aw yes you're right your highness it is time for breakfast, then after we can contine to our next devision", he suggests as he puts her in his back while using magic to poof everything next to his throne.
Smiling he walked over to the doors and saw his Aunt shaking her head "Good morrow you two"
"Morning, please don't tell anypony about this, or I'll never hear the end of it", Toren asks poliently.
She smiles "Don't worry nephew I shall leave it between us only. Now come everypony is waiting"
Together they walked down through hallway and entered the dining room where Athena was using magic to toss some blueberries into her grandfather's mouth, Celestia was laughing while poofing more berries to give to her.
Starlight smiles "Oh careful Athena or you'll fall on the table sweetie"
"Don't worry mom I got this!", she says as she used magic to create a small baseball hat on her head "Hey grandpa here comes my chaos curve berry ball! And fire!"
With magic she creates a huge blueberry with flames and then swung it in the air then poofs a big bat, quickly Toren used magic to lift make it disappear instantly "Woah there Chaos remember no rough play in the castle, especially in the dining room", he says in a gentle fatherly tone "Now let's eat I'm starving!"
Smirking the draconequus nods poofing in his long chair "I agree!"
Quietly the unicorn watched her daughter eating her food as she cut up some pancakes for her toddler "Here Atara open up", she says as she used a fork to put a piece in her tiny mouth as she made noises wanting even more each time she got one make Starlight smile softly.
Softly the mare clears her throat "So Starlight I was wondering if you could help me with some meetings since Toren has to go to Twilight's with the girls for a small play date"
"Oh well yeah sure but don't you usually do it with Toren? I mean after all he is the King", she says to her "I wouldn't be as good as him"
Celestia smiles "Nonsense, besides it'll be fun, and a good way to bond with my wonderful daughter", she admits as she smiles eating some pancakes "After we finish eating"
"Okay", she says with a light sigh as she took a bite of some pancakes.
Gently Discord gave his wife a hug then placed his lion paw on her cheek "Have fun girls, and you to", he says as he used his tail to rub her round belly as he kisses her on the lips romantically as she chuckles to herself softly smiling.
Quietly the unicorn looked away remembering about her baby that died weeks ago, and went inside the castle trying not to cry again.
"Daddy why is mommy sad?", Athena asks trying to understand.
The stallion sighs as he looked at her who was on his back with her little sister "Don't worry honey she'll be fine mommy is just tired"
"She's always tired..I wish she isn't so she can be happy and be with us", she says as she looked at her sister who was suckling her hoof "Atti no hoof isn't food remember"
Annoyed she made noises almost crying wanting her hoof that she pushed off Athena who fell before Discord caught her with magic "Gotcha!", he says with a smile.
With a soft growl the stallion looked at her "Atti no no that's not nice you can't do that to your sister", he says almost yelling.
Scared the little filly backed up then teleports behind her grandma "Toren, she's a baby and you know it's hard for her to communicate", gently she used magic to hold her with one arm "Especially when she was doing nothing wrong Athena"
Both the five year old and the stallion looked at eachother then at the mare understanding, Athena sighs "I'm sorry grammy I didn't mean to make her upset.."
"Don't apologize to me, say it to her who got yelled at young lady"
"Yes grammy", with magic she hovered next to her "I'm sorry Atti for being mean, can you forgive me?", she asks guilty to her sister.
Gently Discord nudged his son's shoulder clearing his throat, the stallion looked down sighing as he walked over "Hey bug daddy is really sorry for yelling, and for making you sad baby, can you forgive me?", he asks with a soft smile trying to make her happy.
Quietly the toddler looked at them then tapped his nose with a small giggle making the stallion smile softly as he nuzzled his nose against her tiny belly "Thank you"
Softly the draconequus smiles as he snapped his claw to make some bubbles "Okay let's go kids! Onward!", he says as he poofs the fillies in his back with small pirate hats "Come on mates, let's go to pony-ville for some fun and games"
Quickly he flew up as Toren watched with his mother who kissed his cheek "I'll see you later"
"Mom? Can I ask you something?", he asks gently looking toward her.
Celestia looked at him "Sure what?"
"How do make it work?"
"Make what work?"
"Like with dad, I mean you two had such a hard lifestyle, even when you met me you both didn't become a couple until you found out I was pregnant with Athena", he sighs "Then secretly we started dating because of her, and rushed this whole thing without really getting to truly get know eachother. And now ever since she lost the baby we have been falling apart, to where we don't speak, and I don't know how to reach her"
Understanding him she sighs "Toren, she's mourning and you were the same way when you disconnected yourself with Athena to save her life by giving her to Starlight, your wife who loves you", gently she lifts his chin up "The same love you two still have, you just need to give her some time"
"Mother it's been almost a two months since we have talked, and every time she looks at me she always looks the other way, or walks off", he looks up then down "I just wish I could have done something to help"
Sighing the mare sat down next to him quietly as he remained standing "Toren what happened to the baby was not your fault, you has no knowledge of it passing away and you can't blame yourself sweetheart because it was to early", gently she nuzzled her cheek against his "I know this is hard knowing that you feel like you can't help her, but honey the only thing you can do is give her space, encouragement, and love that you have for her to find her peace. A mother losing a child is like losing part of themselves, and you should know because you were once in her position when you almost lost Athena when you fought against your father when you first met him after the gala to protect me, you held an empty feeling when you thought of the possibility that your baby was dead inside you"
Remembering that day made him understand his wife's feelings "I know, I just hope that she'll be okay", he says as he looked at her then at her belly "Any suggestions for your big brother to help Star?"
Softly she chuckles to herself when he remained focused on her belly "Toren what are you doing?"
"Communicating", he says smirking before looking at her with a small kiss on her cheek "Love you mom"
"Um love you to, did it help you?", she asks trying not to laugh at him.
Toren smiles nodding "Yeah, it did", he says as he looked at her "Hey um, I'm curious do you know the gender yet? Rarity asked me last week about it along with Pinkie pie"
She shook her her "No, we are keeping it a surprise for the baby shower when we reveal it next week, Starlight is the only one that knows the gender, not even we know", she comments with a smile.
"Aw I see", he says nodding "Well fair enough and have fun with Star"
"I will, and be sure to keep your father out of trouble sweetheart"
"Sure"
Discord yells "Toren hurry up!"
"Coming!", he flaps his wings "Bye"
"Bye son, and be careful"
"I will", he says as he flew away to meet his father who was waiting.
Softly the mare smiles as they began to grow smaller until they disappeared within the clouds leaving Celestia to teleport in the hallway and went to her throne room where Starlight was leaning her head on the side of Toren's throne sad in her own grieving.
Curious the unicorn looked around "Um I thought I was going to help you do meetings, and paperwork?"
"Well are, inside my room where it's quiet, see?", with magic she summons a box of scrolls to sign with two empty boxes to put them in "One is for declined rules, and the other one is for finished signed ones, here come lay down with me"
Not wanting to upset her the mare obeys and teleports to the bed, and began to sign off the papers that were given to her once she was done as the Alicorn ate some sweets made from her personal chef that were brought everyday.
Celestia smiles "Thank you Ramshoe"
He smiles "You're welcome my queen, here and some chocolate milk with whipped berry cream", he spoke kindly as he leaves to the room.
With magic Celestia drank the milk "Here Starlight have some don't be shy I won't bite you if you a few", she insists as she moved the bowl of covered chocolate sweets, and fruits provided by her staff.
"Thanks", she took a strawberry and ate it as she sighed the scroll "Do you want to approve a law with manehattan for a new fountain?"
"Yes", she says smiling as she signed another scroll then placed on in the decliked box "Oh if you see any for random power gaining request for money, or franchise decline"
"Okay", she says as she drank her chocolate milk with berry cream that was given from the chef "Oh I love the berry whipped cream it makes it have a great new flavor"
"I agree, I'm glad you like it", as she kept signing the Alicorn froze smiling when the baby kicked her.
Curious the unicon looked at her "Celestia are you alright?"
Hearing her worried allowed her to feel compassionate as she looked at her "Yes, don't be alarmed the baby appears to also enjoy our treats, and the berry cream", she admits smiling with a small laugh.
Softly Starlight laughs with her "Well maybe it will be like Discord", she says with a huge grin laughing.
"Probably", she agrees laughing.
Together to two laughed that faded off slowly trying to catch their breaths, softly the mares looked at each other smiling until Starlight looked away remembering about her lose and tears fell down her face slowly as her head laid on the bed trying to continue but failed.
Celestia looked at her then laid beside her with her wing around her allowing her to cry "Oh Starlight I'm sorry if I made you"
"No, no you didn't you made me happy, and I'm glad we're doing this it's just been hard knowing that your baby could have had a playmate around its age, and that Toren would of had a little boy to call his son to bond, and be with"
Celestia sighs "Is that why you've been distant from Toren?", she asks carefully to not upset her.
"Yes, because I know how much he wanted a son, he even told me, so when I found out with you I was so happy, and even planned a party to tell the girls, and him on a picnic", she sniffs "And now..he's gone.."
Gently she held her close to her side kissing her head "I know..", tears began to fall down her cheeks
Quietly the stallion was flapping through the clouds with his daughter's on his back that were sleeping as Discord watched him trying to say something then stops. Wanting to help his son the draconequus tries to speak but stops again looking the other way.
Amused the stallion rolls his eyes "Dad if you have something to say you might as well just say it already", he says while still looking ahead with a small smile.
"Okay you got me I'll talk", he flies up to him then sighs sofly "Look kiddo I know it's been hard since you know what happened with Starlight but it's okay to talk about"
Understanding the stallion looked at him then forward "I know it's just something I'd never thought would occur dad, and to me personally it reminds me when I almost lost Athena, and even Atara when she was born when I had to give part of my immortality to save her life"
Softly he sighs "And if I knew that something was wrong I would of done something, or anything to"
"Toren", Discord looked at him softly with his eyes stern "You has no control over this kiddo, and it just happened maybe for a reason I don't know, but you can't blame yourself for this son"
"I know, and I shouldn't but I've tried everything I can think of to help her, but nothing has worked", he sighs defeated "I don't know what else to do..and I feel helpless"
"Toren, you can't punish yourself for everything bad that happens"
"I know, I just wish I can make her happy again and give her peace"
"Well it will just take time kiddo, tell you what why don't we go on a date with our girls after the baby shower at Twilight's boring castle"
With a small smile he looks at him "Sure dad, and I know the place how does tomorrow at 7 sound?"
"Sounds like a date", he says smiling at him as he rubbed nudged against his son's shoulder.
Together the flew down to the ground and made their way to the doors of Twilight's castle, quickly the draconequus banged on the door until he was knocking on Spike's head as if was the door.
Spike sighs annoyed "Discord, that's my head", he says as he backed up making the draconequus fall to the ground.
Chuckling the stallion shakes his head as he walked forward "Hey bro"
"Toren hey wow! Look at you almost didn't recognize you by the way your face looks", he laughs "You look like Discord with that facial hair on your face bro"
"I know but I'm more handsome", he comments smirking as he kept walking with the dragon "And I kinds like it make me look wiser"
"More like older", he says teasing
Amused by his comment the stallion smiles with a small laugh as he went to the throne room with him "Well at least I pull it off nicely"
Spike laughs pointing "True"
Quickly the draconequus flew passed them "Fluttershy!", he yells giving her a big hug smiling at her.
She giggles "Hello Discord it's good to see you to"
"Me to, so what needs to be done?"
"You can start with the decorations, and then help prepare the snacks"
Discord smirks "Sure thing", with magic he begins to help her place things in order while talking to her.
Gently the stallion walked over to his friends as they were wrapping up some boxes "Hi everypony hope we haven't kept you all waiting to long", he says smirking.
Applejack smiles shaking her head as she looked over "Not at partner, come on you can help me make the food in the kitchen", gently she walked to the door with Toren who put down his daughter's to help the other foals wrap the presents.
Quietly the farm mare watched from behind as the stallion followed her with his head down almost ashamed as he read her mind remembering when she lost her foal years ago when she was younger, Toren knew that she knew about it and was trying to avoid that subject as she opened the oven to take out the apple tasty treats, and some pies she prepared.
Carefully the stallion used magic to place them in the cart to wheel them to the throne room for the party, Applejack tugged his tail "Hold on partner there is still more things to put on it, and we need to talk about something to"
"Like what?", he asks almost annoyed when he turned around to face her.
Gently the earth pony went to him "Toren I know what happened to the baby", she says stern but held kindeness.
Hearing her say that filled his eyes with tears, his heart broke in half being reminded of something that has pulled his wife away from him.
Slowly Toren looked away "Do the others know?"
"No, only me and Rarity when she came to our home to let your girls play with our youngins", gently she placed her hoof on his shoulder "Toren I know this is hard but it will get better, I was in her hooves once so it will take time for her to move on. And with you she'll be able to"
Frustrated he glares at her "How?!"
Angry he threw a plate on the floor "How can I when she can't even look at me anymore? I know what she's thinking and blames herself, and me for losing our baby! Our son! A child that I failed before he was even born, and she was alone"
Slightly afraid she watched as the stallion laid on the ground crying, hoofprints were heard in the distance that grew louder, until the door was opened revealing Twilight who was worried with Toren's wife.
"What is going on?", asks Twilight.
Concerned Starlight went to her husband and looked at him, he was hiding his face with one of his claw-hooves around his muzzle weeping, he couldn't hold back his grieving anymore trying to be strong for his wife when really it was destroying part of his soul.
Gently she placed her hoof on his other claw-hoof "Toren, look at me"
"No it's my f-fault", shamefully he began to cough by his aniexty "You were all alone, hurting, I could of"
Shaking the stallion wept unable to control himself, Starlight has never seen this side of him in a long time, the last time she saw his aniexty was when they were in Twilight's castle after the gala was over in her room where she gave him peace, when he had the Larocks, when Athena was inside him before the transition was made.
Slowly she laid on her stomach and kissed his nose then rubbed his arm in tears "Toren this wasn't your fault, and I'm so sorry for making you think that honey. You had no idea that we would lose the baby, please don't blame yourself"
Filled with tears he looked at her "How can I not feel guilty when you couldn't even look at me? I could hear your thoughts, and how you felt about me, and how I would feel when I found out that it was a boy."
"Toren I wasn't blaming you, I couldn't look at you because when I found out about our son I was planning to surprise you and the girls with a picnic, and when I lost him I thought of you because I knew how much you want a son", she sniffs wiping her eyes "So when I lost him I was broken knowing that he was gone, because I even thought of a name, and everything"
Slowly he lifted his head and looked at her, trying to read her thoughts but wasn't able to figure the name by his aniexty, carefully he grabbed her hoof from the ground "What was his name?"
"Toren", in tears she smiled "After you, the stallion who gave me everything, my heart, my two beautiful girls, and my happiness"
Touched by her words he began to cry again as she touched his cheek, he placed his other claw-hoof on it as he slowly looked at her, then looked at her very tiny belly that was left after months when he died. Gently the stallion lets go of her hoof from the ground, and placed it on her stomach to say goodbye then used magic to heal her body so he would no longer decay, instead with his mind placed him in the ground near a tree that slowly grew white roses on the bottom, the branches, with a small grave with thier sons name on it with a small phrase craved in the stone, giving him his final resting place to sleep in peace.

Overwhelmed Toren closed his eyes and buries his face against her chest to properly grieve about their lose, their son, and their special spirit that they got to know for a short while, but treasured every moment they shared with their little Toren.
After a few hours passed the party was set and ready to go, quietly the little foals were hiding under the map getting ready to yell surprise.
Applejack whispers "Alright youngins get ready they are most here, now remember you be very gentle around the queen alright?"
"OKAY!", they all yell together before they covered thier mouths.
With magic Rarity looked at her clipboard "Alright everything is ready, positions everypony hide!"
Quickly the adults hid in different places, Toren hid under the food table with his wife smiling as the others hid around the presents, the thrones, and even in the curtains.
Slowly the door was opened with a spell to hide everything making the expecting couple think it's a meeting "Alright Queen Celestia I brought both you and Discord to talk about the map, for some reason it's been sending miscalled missions to my friends, and even your son. Today it sent Toren and my friends to go to the Crystal Empire but nothing was wrong, could you do something?"
Curious the mare looked at the map "We can try, when does it usually act up? And when does it summon your friends? If so how many times?", Celestia asks kindly
"Weekly, and it's either in two pair, or group, even just one pony"
"I see, and when did it start happening?"
"Two weeks ago"
As they kept talking Discord was sitting in one of the throne rooms bored as his tail began to tickle poor Prisms nose that he was about to sneeze but Athena covered his mouth quickly. Nervous the foals remained close together backing up against the center behind the crystal bottom piece that lifted the map up, once the colt calmed down the draconequus tail moved and almost touched little Apple-Diamond's hoof so she made a small noises than covered her mouth shaking. Curious the draconequus looked down but saw nothing by the spell Twilight used so he moved his head back up to look at his wife who was talking to the princess about the map issues.
Celestia sighs "Well I think it's fine for now, but let me know weekly of anything changes. Oh and if you see my son can you tell him that he needs to be home by tonight because I need his help tomorrow"
"Of course, but since you're here Celestia why don't we have some tea, and grabbed cakes, and fun"
"Fun? What kind of fun?"
"This one", with a smile she tapped her hoof twice giving them the signal.
With magic Athena poofed all the foals on top of the map "Surprise!"
Quickly Toren used magic to create fireworks, and everypony revealed themselves scaring Discord up to the chandelier making the foals laugh with the adults, including his pregnant wife who great with foal.
Blushing he looked down then smirks pointing "Ahah! I knew somepony was under the map!"
With magic he poofed by his wife, Celestia looks at Twilight smirking "Hmm issues with the map huh?"
"Haha well looks like I was mistaken", she comments blushing while rubbing her neck from behind sweating slightly nervous.
Cleverly Toren flew up and made fireworks with his wife on his back "Happy congratulations birthday mom!", he says smiling at her.
Touched the pregnant Alicorn smiles in tears "Thank you honey", sniffing she looks up "And how did know you it was my birthday today?"
Smirking he shrugged "Aunt Luna"
"Oh I see", gently she opened the present that revealed a book with her cutie mark on the cover "Oh Toren it's beautiful, thank you"
Remembering the surprise he touched it "Ah don't open it, that was the rule. Not til you're alone"
"Oh, and why is that?"
"Because it reveals the gender that only Starlight knows after your appointment today, and she blocked all of our minds so nopony would know, so you can't open it til after we get home tonight", he instructs understanding the plan.
Annoyed Discord points "Hey why don't I get to know?! I'm the father missy!"
"Because you'll know when it's born just like your son, so you both get to be in this together sorry"
"But that's not fair!"
"Trust me you'll thank me later, now let's party!", Starlight says excited to have some actuall fun.
Quickly the pink earth pony dashed to the music player "Let's kick it!"
With magic Twilight creates a disco ball that spun around with color lights when the throne room dimmed the lights to make it dark, excited the foals ran around playing with parry hats on as the couple danced around, while eating some food that was prepared. Carefully Celestia sat down on one of the throes eating some treats that was given by her younger sister with a small smile, and a hug.
Smirking Discord used magic to poof up a bouquet of rose "For you my dear", he says romantically as he gave them to her, then placed one in her left ear with a small kiss.
"Oh thank you Discord they're lovely", she says grateful as he sat on the right side arm of the throne "Did you know about this?"
"No nothing, I'm just as surprised as you are honey", he says to her.
Together they looked at eachother then he wrapped his arm around her as they both watched everyone dancing, then noticed Toren spinning Starlight around until they kissed softly before laughing together when Spike gets tackled by the foals using wooden swords.
Celestia smiles "Oh Discord look at them, they are together, and happy"
"Yeah, and who knows maybe they'll try again after the party"
"Discord Draconequus"
"What? I didn't mean it like that, I mean well you know they might go on a date or something and be together, an they are married"
"I know that but the children could hear you, or somepony else"
"Honey they are ALL married, well minus Princess Bookworm", he rubs his chin "Although I'd thought she end up with the Flash guy"
Annoyed she lost her eyes "Oh Discord you're impossible"
"I know", gently he lofts her chin up "But you still love me my sexy wife"
Softly he kissed her on the lips "And beautiful mother to our little spawn", softly he kissed her again while placing his lions paw on her round belly with a few more pecks.
Slowly he used his tail to rubbed her vaginal hole to calm her down, he nuzzled his head against hers as he felt hers in awe when the baby kicked a few times wanting to play.
Discord chuckles "Hey now you don't get any ideas", he says as he smiles "This is your mommy's day"
"Now Dizzy you can't control it when it arrives", softly she smiles narrowing her eyes, then quickly used magic to yank his tail hard "And I think that after the party we can have a special celebration alone"
Understanding her plan he slowly moved his lion paw to her vagina, and quickly stoved two of his claws inside her blushing with a whisper "Oh believe me you'll enjoy it babe"
Slowly he moved them in deeper with a kiss, until they heard some foals laughing in the background made them nervous so he quickly moved his lion paw away and fell down on the ground instantly.
Worried she looked down "Oh Discord! Are you alright?!"
"Yeah, I'm okay just falling for you"
"More like defying gravity"
"Exactly", he says before getting up to kiss her softly against her lips.
Giggling the foals laugh together as they tugged his tail all together like a game of tug a war. Smirking the draconequus used magic to lift them up and hovered them above the ceiling, and around the tree chandelier slowly like a marygoround, making Celestia laugh with her husband as they watched looked up watching them.
Gently she looked at him placing her hoof on his lion paw then moved it to her belly "Just think soon that will be our baby up there with the children"
Quickly he turned his head to her then slowly smiled "Yeah", he says giving his wife a kiss on her cheek.
"Aright time for presents!", Pinkie pie sang in a very excited voice.
Together the other adults grabbed their presents with their magic, Celestia tapped her husband's shoulder whispering "Discord quickly teleport and grab the you know what, we need to do it today"
"I'm on it", understanding he quickly teleports and grabs the gift and puts it on the pile smoothly then went back to his wife smiling.
It was coming down to the last three presents in the pile, Celestia opens another gift from the Apple family "Oh these are adorable, look Discord they are little outfits"
Smirking he held one "Ah Aj I don't think this will fit me, I mean I know I'm physically fit, and handsome", he says as he puts it on his antler.
Quickly the foals laugh, Athena shakes her head before teleporting to his head and grabs the outfit "Grandma it's not for you it's for the baby"
Looking up he smiles "It is?"
"Yeah, and it's also grandma's birthday remember, so it's also her present to"
"Oh darn it", he says faking to be disappointed then grabbed the filly "So Chaos what did you get for your wonderful grandma?"
Quickly she remembered "Oh yeah!", with magic she summons a white box "Here grandma this is from me, Atara, mommy, and dad"
Curious the mare looked at her son "Toren should I be concerned?"
"No mother, I promised nothing is going to jump out", he admits softly with a small wink added.
"Here honey I'll help you, that way you won't be so scared", Discord comments with a small kiss.
Smiling she watched with her granddaughter Atara who was in her arms as Athena remained on the draconequus head excited, slowly he opened it just to give the foals a hard time who watched down below waiting for the surprise. Smirking Discord flipped opened the lid then reached down and grabbed a string that held nothing at the end, leaving everypony confused, even Celestia.
Starlight whispers "Toren where's the rest of it? The girls told me you had it all ready to go, and finished"
"Wait for it", he says almost cocky.
Unsure what to think the pregnant Alicorn looked at the string "Um well it's a really pretty crystallized string", she whispers in her husbands ear "Dizzy what do I say I don't want to hurt their feelings"
Winking he looked at her then at the string then lowered it back down playing along "Oh yes honey I agree it is a pretty string, but I think it will look even better with this"
Quickly he blew into the box then brought it back up with a mobile at the end that was spinning.
"Oh Discord", almost in tears she covered part of her mouth as it spun around slowly with music.
Happy Athena looked at her "Do you like grandma? It was dads idea, and it even has music to so you can sing your lullaby to the baby"
Understanding what her son did she looked at him in tears grateful, she nods "Yes sweetheart I do, very much and the baby will love it, thank you so much", she says as she kissed the fillies on the heads.
Carefully the couple made their way to their parents, Toren smiles "Happy birthday mother", he says as he kissed her on the cheek.
"Thank you Toren", gently she kissed his head in tears smiling.
Softly the couple hugged the mare as Discord rubbed his sons head proud of him for the thoughtful gift.
Curious one of the foals, Prism who was Rainbow's who was eleven grabbed the present next to Discords tails "Hey there's one more, wait a minute it has your name in it Aunt Starlight, see"
"What?", confused the unicorn grabbed the small black box with a blue ribbon on it "It does but why?"
Smiling Celestia looks at her "It's from us Starlight, me and Discord picked it out a few months ago", gently she wiped her eyes sniffing "Because we were going to have a surprise party for you, the girls, and Toren when they returned home from Fluttershy’s as a congratulations present for you"
Remembering the ultrasound she had with her a day before she miscarriaged the unicorn began to cry almost knowing what it is. Slowly Starlight looked at her husband then at her in-laws who were holding her daughters, for the first time she saw both of them in tears trying to be strong for her knowing that she was struggling.
Shaking she opened the present that revealed her son, her baby in a picture frame that had roses in the corners, softly Toren wrapped her arm around her also crying to himself quietly when he saw his son in the picture for the first time. With magic she moved it, and noticed a card with her name on it, slowly she opened it and read the card to herself trying to not cry anymore so her girls wouldn't worry, or know the truth and wouldn't understand the situation.
Vulnerable Toren read the words with her from his caregiving parents: “My dearest, Starlight, I just want you to know how proud I am of you, and how much you have endured in your short life the I ever did in my immortality. You have done things that no mare has achieved, surviving the Larocks with a stallion, my son that you loved so much that you gave part of yourself to him by carrying his baby, his little Athena who has changed our lives for the better. It was because of you that you allowed our family to be together again, with a new member that grew into our hearts everyday, then came Atara who has made us happy with her wonderful talents, her special way to communicate with objects, and sounds that have become useful for difficult situations.
I know you have struggled these past weeks by losing a life that was with you, your son that you weren't able to see in this life, but he is with you always in your heart, and with the girls as their guide, their special spirit to help them make good choices, and to protect them just like his wonderful father, my son who has given you these children that have given you great adventures.
Starlight, you are more than my in-law, you have become my daughter that I've always wanted, you have given me strength to try, and to not be afraid to take risks. I am so thankful that you chose to be with my son, giving him a chance to live a life with you, helping him become a father by becoming a mother, then saving his baby's life years ago when he got very sick. And there is good left, you just need to look at where you are now, with your husband, your beautiful daughters, and your son that you received at this time to help you become a better mother, and I know that you're hurting, but I know that in time there will come another life that you will carry one day, another miracle you will give to our family to love just as much as we love you.

In tears they kept reading, smiling with eyes that poured out a river of tears slowly finding peace between them, and sat down next to each other as Toren wrapped his wing around her while reading with her: “Hey Starlight Glimmy-Pants, look I'm not really good when it comes to writing, especially when it comes to you my dear. Anyway, I am so glad that you chose my handsome son to be with, not only have you given him joy, you gave us joy by loving him, not only that gave him two chaotic bundles that have changed my life.
These two girls have made both me and Tia realize that life is precious, and full of chaos in the most wonderful way. Don't tell anypony this but I glad it was you that picked my son because if it weren't for you my boy wouldn't have been a father, and wouldn't be who is he as a stallion today, and as our son, or as a King, and you are his happiness my dear that has bloomed into our chaotic joy.
I know that you are hurt, but I have a good feeling that there will be another bundle of chaos to love, maybe a little Toren junior in the future with its beautiful mommy someday, and when that happens it will be an amazing day Glimmy-Pants. Sincerely, your handsome, loving dad Discord the amazing.

Smiling the unicorn wiped her eyes before hugging them both in tears "Thank you", she whispers softly.
"You're welcome my dear", Discord whispers back, then kissed her cheek "It'll be okay Glimmy-Pants"
Gently Celestia stroked her mane "One day you'll be a mother again, and we will be there to help you"
In tears she nods making noises to herself crying as Toren stood watching with his friends who were all in tears, quietly he looked at the picture, and touched it with a small smile knowing that one day he would have another son, a son who will change their lives for the better the way Toren did for them in his short life he lived with his family. Remembering every moment he had with their baby gave him peace knowing that he would always be with them, watching over them, and making sure that they were safe, happy, protected, and loved.

Softly the mare sighs in defeat nodding as his eyes locked into hers “Yes..I need you to take Toren with the girls outside to wait”
“W-wait you want me to leave? Tia I'm not leaving you alone again...I promised that I'd be with you until the end, and that's what I'm doing, and I'll be by your side to make sure that you'll be able to have my full support, love, knowing that you'd be bringing our child into the world”
“Discord..I'm going to be okay I'll have Starlight with me I just don't want you to see me in pain..please”, gently she placed her hoof on his cheek as he grabbed it “I love you and I'm so blessed to have you as my husband knowing that you care more about me than yourself that you're willing to do anything for me, our son, and our entire family.”
“Tia please you need me”
“The only thing I need is for you to be with our son Discord”, in tears she looks at him surprised to see him crying with her understanding as he gave one last kiss before walking away to the door in silence.
Concerned about his parents Toren looked at them for a mere second before placing his daughter's on his back before quietly walking towards the door that was left opened up. Soon after the stallion walked out the room Discord shuts the door accepting the task even if it broke his heart into pieces, sits down by the wall quietly.
“Dad everything will be fine”
"Yeah grandpa then the baby will be born!", Athena says excited bouncing
“I know Chaos, I just hope it'll be over soon"
Minutes turned to hours, the girls were drawing as Toren ate some cake to distract himself from his father who stood by the door frozened, or paces a few inches before stopping again to look at it.
"Daddy what grandpa doing?"
"Oh he's just being silly, worried about grandma and baby chaos, it's a father side affect called the silly scaredy cat walk"
Amused Athena giggled "Daddy be nice", sighs "I wish baby would come faster I ran out of coloring space, now my monster is to scary, and smushy"
"Here", poofs another book "There ya go"
"Thanks daddy"
Getting impatient Discord rubbed his neck standing away from it, then looked back "What's taking so long?"
"Dad relax it'll be okay"
"But it's been so quiet, to quiet and I can't think straight or at all I'm losing my mind"
"Grandpa you already did, long time ago mommy told me it was when she had me", Athena adds pointing at herself making Toren chuckle amused
With a smile Discord walked over and sits down by her "Yeah that's true because you my little bundle of chaos were my first granddaughter, and I wanted you to be happy and loved like I do to your silly dad"
"Thanks grandpa"
"Yeah, yeah anytime chaos"
Before they could speak another word it was burned off by a baby crying instantly “Dad! It's here whoo!”, excited he jumps around like a small colt cheering “I'm a brother! Woohoo! I'm a big brother! I'm a big brother! I'm a big brother! Hahaha!”
Seeing their father jumping around made the girls laugh enjoying show before they were picked up by the stallion who spun around happily as Starlight came out shutting the door from behind her only to see her husband acting like a young foal.
“Toren sshhh”, Starlight says quietly.
Blushing the hybrid looked at her embarrassed “Ooh..right sorry..”
“You're fine although you made your mom concerned when we heard yelling”
"Mommy can we see the baby please?", Athena asked
Softly the mare shakes her head "No, not yet it's late girls, tomorrow we will okay?"
"Come on you two let's go, hurry fast or no ice cream and storytime", he nuzzled them away "Or lullaby"
"Wait daddy, wait", Atara used magic to summon a tiny teddy bear to her grandpa smiling “For baby who sad”
“Oh I see well thank you Atti, I'll see you all later", he turns around frozened
“Go on grandpa the door is still closed”
"Yeah I know Athena, I'm just ah waiting for it to open, it's broken"
Without warning Starlight used magic to teleport him inside causing him to trip over his own goat leg crashing against the floor as the door sealed shut “He will thank me later once he sees the baby”
"Ouch", Discord mumbled groaning
Annoyed he remained against the floor barely waking up weakly hearing the sounds of his baby crying as motivation to rise up slowly trying to regain balance as he took a few steps forward, then saw her, her with his child in her arms.
"Discord are you alright?", she replied concerned for his well being "Discord"
Tears began to fill his eyes "Y-yeah", clears his throat "Couldn't be better"
"Okay"
"So may I see my baby or no?"
"Yes, if you walk forward Dizzy you may"
"Ah..right.."
Deeply they looked into each other eyes as he walked forward with only her as a guide to his greatest reward that awaits him as he bends down on one knee lifting her chin up in tears grateful that she was alright with a gentle kiss against her head before looking down in awe by the sight of the tiny baby asleep. Gently he moved his lion paw near the baby that began to suck against one of his claws whimpering to itself faintly, unsure by his paw's taste.
“Oh Tia...”, he says sniffing quietly.
“Discord you're crying”
“Of course I am you know I'm nothing but a big old softly that gets emotional it's a draconequus side effect, it's terrible you should know this by now”, he says chuckling to himself as his own joke that was soon joined by his wife.
“Oh Discord”, she looks at him surprised to see him looking back at her before they kissed that was soon stopped when the baby began to slowly cry.
"Hey it's okay daddy here", with a smile he lowered his head and nuzzled the baby as gently as he could "Ssh"
Calming down the baby hiccuped, whimpered before snuggling in Celestia's chest fur with a quivered lip with his lion paw over his chin.
“Oh I almost forgot this is from Atara to the baby, or in her definition the baby who is sad”, he says placing the tiny stuffed toy by the newborn
“Well I am honored and I'm sure that our son will love her gift”
In disbelief he looked at her “Our son? I have a son..we have a son?”
“Yes we do, and he looks like you this time”, she moved the blanket down that the baby was full revealed
“Oh Tia...he, he look at his little lion paw, and bat wings, and his everything”
“And perfect is every way, and was worth it, and I wouldn't trade him for all the world or power of any kind”
With a smile she kissed his head, then looked at the tiny colt “Sweet dreams my little bundle of chaos”
“Hey that's my line”, he says crossing his arms against his chest annoyed with her stealing his idea.
Chuckling she whispers blushing “I know, and don't worry I'll make sure to give you credit when he's older Dizzy”
“Haha very funny smooth, but I'm still mad at you for taking my thing”
“Discord”
“No I'm not talking to you”
Smirking she kisses his shoulder trying to get his attention by nuzzling against his muscles “Come on Dizzy you love me”

Quiety the couple nuzzled, admiring at their newborn son, and new little chaos to love for all eternity, a starkeeper to hold.
The next day the girls were still sleeping with Starlight as the hybrid tiptoed to the door, opened it then closed after to see the baby. Unable to wait Toren teleports to his parents room and gave it a knock.
"Who could that be?"
"Don't know, I'll take a peak", Discord pokes head out by magically going through the wood, then goes back "It's our son"
"Let him in honey"
"Oh okay", snapped claw "Go on kiddo"
"Thanks dad"
"Uh huh", he stretched while yawning
Softly Celestia spoke still tired but happy “Toren meet your new brother”
“A brother? I have a brother..”
“Do you want to hold him?”
“Well ah as much as I want to but what if I hurt him..my claws could scratch him or worse..crush him..”
“He'll be fine just relax and breathe”
“No mom please I'll-”
Before he could finish his sentence the mare quickly placed the baby against his left arm with magic, he began to cry instantly leaving Toren nervous about possibly hurting the baby with his claws, smiling the mare watched as her sons were struggling to bond. In the distance Discord looked over at his wife, nervous by the whole thing the stallion began to slowly tremble until he felt the baby latch tightly on his own tiny hoof like a small pacifier that touched Toren's heart instantly as he slowly began to bond, no longer showing fear in his eyes, instead it was love.
Filled with tears the hybrid looked down at the infant holding a small expression now knowing that his baby brother was not harmed, realizing it was just his own imagination as he looked toward his parents “He's so different a good different, but not what I expected..”
“I agree with that completely but you have to admit he's definitely one of kind”
“I second that mom, and one day I'll show him the world, making sure that he's loved no matter what”, softly he looked at the baby whispers “I'll even teach you pranks, and together we’ll show all those mean bullies who's boss”
Covering her mouth she begins to laugh with her husband who rubs Torens head teasing “Yeah you will, and I'll be right behind ya as backup incase you go to far son”, laughing he uses magic to levitate the baby in his arms “Because knowing you you're temper is fatal”
Blushing he crosses his claw-hooves together “No it's not well..not all that time only when you're involved”
Not following through the old creature looks over to his wife until he turned to his son “Hey that was one time, and we bonded as good sword fighters kiddo, well I did at least”
“Now Dizzy be nice, or I take my son"
"No"

Showing communication the baby yawned nuzzling to the draconequs's chest asleep, quietly the stallion walked away smiling then closed the door having hope in sight.
Softly Celestia nuzzled her baby, kissing his tiny face "Sweet dreams my little son"
Exhausted the mare gave him one final kiss before laying her head on her left arm, next to the baby so he would be close to her face, that way she would know he was safe. Quietly the draconequus opened the door then close it softly to not wake up his wife, carefully he flew up above her then went next to her side that his head went beside hers with a small kiss on her head.

Slowly the draconequus lowered his head against the bed beside her cheek that was closest to him, quietly he moved his lion paw over her hoof that was far away, and near the baby. Grateful the old creature smiles, then sighed disappointed in himself by how he hurt his other son that he failed to truly be a father to him. Instead he became a failure, a monster, and was never there for him until two years ago when they met. However, he had a second chance to be here for his newborn son, but deep down he knew that he had been forgiven but couldn't forgive himself for the years he missed.
