Ch.1 Beginning of a destiny
It was very early in autumn. The ponies gathered below by the flocks for the Ponyville annual Running Of The Leaves. Violet could see them from high above, In the heavenly sight of Cloudsdale. Her forehooves hang over the edge of the clouds near the rear of town. She had always enjoyed watching the ponies below.
She looked in wonder at all the beautiful shades of orange and red, and the rainbow of ponies running towards them. Nothing else in the world mattered right now, all she could see or hear was the trees and ponies below. She always dreamed of running with them, but was always too shy to gather the courage to go there herself, and instead watched from afar. “One day.” She always told herself. “One day.”
“Violet.” A mare’s voice projected from behind the sky blue mare. She snapped from her trance. Her hooves shooting her upward. She could hear the joy of Rainbow Dash and her friends below. The mare standing before her was a stark white Pegasus with a mane that consisted of a deep teal that matched that of the deepest oceans along with highlights of rose red
“Oh.. you startled me, who are you?” Violet said
A thick Prench accent protruded from the mare’s vocal chords.”My name is Amore de la Ser. I’m your new weather captain.” She stood stoically.l
“Oh it's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Violet Skies, I work at the cloudsdale hospital” violet replied.
“As it is a pleasure to meet you.” She bowed to reveal a cutiemark that bore the symbol of a grey cloud and green thunder bolt that bent into a heart. “May I ask what it is that you are up to?”
“Oh.. I'm just looking at the sky..” violet timidly replied as she twiddled with hooves.
“That’s fine. I just noticed you were the last pony on the roster. I figured I should come and find you. The pegusi here really understand your habits.” Amore responded, clearing noticing that she was not looking upon the skies.
“Roster?” Violet asked as she tilted her head to the left and perked her ears.
“This.” She tilted the hoof closest to her chest forward to reveal a clipboard littered with names, check marks, and comments.
“I don't understand, what's going on?” Violet spoke with confusion. She stiffened. She was not expecting to do anything besides work about the hospital.
“We are planning a storm due west of here in a few hours. I was given a roster with your name in it. I don’t make the orders.” She spoke. her ears laying back as she lost focus wit the sky blue mare in front of her.
“They make storms all the time, but they've never needed me, they have medics already don't they?” Violet tried to find out why she could possibly be needed
“There’s something they’re calling a “doozy” planned for later this evening.” Amore went on as she flipped through notes she had on her clipboard. It was somewhat concerning that Violet was selected.
The last thing Violet wanted to do was fly into a massive storm surrounded by ponies.
But she had no choice, she had to go with her.
“Ok… just let me pack my saddle bags with some supplies” Violet stammered. She looked about the area.
“Grab what supplies you need, but please hurry, we fly out in half an hour.” Amore notified her newest recruit. She turned and took off to the direction of the weather factory, eventually disappearing into the distant horizon.
Violet snapped out of her confused trance and darted to her home. Grabbing what supplies she thought she could use. “Medkit, bandages, what am I forgetting.” She said to herself as she picked up the necessary items about her home.
“Saddle bags! I'm not wearing my saddlebags!” Violet shouted as she flew over to her closet.
Violet threw on her saddle bags and rushed around the house throwing everything she needed into them, then she flew out the front door and rushed to the weather factory.
When Violet reaches the factory it is barren. Not a soul in sight. Aside from Amore who appears to be speaking to a black dragon. The reptile was fairly small for a dragon, but an adult nonetheless. His stomach was a pale grey that highlighted a slender figure. Over their shoulders was a night black jacket. It was not like dragons to approach Cloudsdale.
She crouched near the floor to avoid being seen. The lights had been shut off, but her bright blue coat did not allow for a good camouflage. She peaked her ear out fro where she was hiding to hear what they said.
“I’m not sure why you dragged me here, Amore. There is nothing for me to do here. I think I would be far more productive in Coltstantinople. Maybe Prance?” The dragon rolled their emerald green eyes. “There’s somepony listening in anywhy.”
Violet’s heart rate skyrocketed, what did they want her for? How did they know she was there? All she knew was she had to escape. She sneaked around the wall to the open sky, maybe if she flew fast enough she could loop around to the city.
“Great going, Fury. You scared her off.” Amore scowled.
Violet took off flying, faster then she ever had before. She needed to reach the city, she needed to escape them. She didn't even look behind her, just flew, if only she had flown this fast in flight school. When she reached the city everything was normal, everypony was going about their days like nothing was wrong.
Fury pressed a device in his ear. “Flash?” Furry nodded. “Well, yea. No, you don’t…..Okay. Well can you go meet her? Yea I sent you the address.” Fury groaned as he put his claw on his face.
Violet just needed to rest, she hadn't flown that fast before, she decided to just go home, she lived tucked away and hidden so she be safe there. She trotted home, blending in with crowds and trying to avoid contact with other ponies.
Once she left town she turned to a empty field of clouds with a hills and fake trees of clouds. Hidden between two of the hills was a small cloud cottage. It was small, only a few small rooms with two windows, but it was home, and she had always felt safe here.
Violet locked the door behind her and closed all the curtains. She was exhausted, an with the busy week she had, she just wanted to rest. She jumped in bed and tucked herself in her cloud blanket and dozed off, perhaps tomorrow would be a better
