Era: Dawn
Chapter 2
Previous ChapterNext ChapterSpace, known by many as the final frontier, and commonly looked upon with great amounts of respect, beauty, curiosity, and fear. Many who live among the other species of the galaxy have gotten used to life in space, as it had come to be, in a sense, a normal thing in their daily lives, especially given the fact that most all species are space faring nowadays.
A single ship, a reconnaissance ship, was currently flying through the void, scouting out the far reaches of unknown territory, which was a lot closer to the core than was for comfort. The core, which many expected to be a massive core of destruction and wormholes, was actually the location of the planet known as the Ruling World, and, much like any other core, the core of this galaxy was surrounded by thousands if not millions of long dead ships, the husks of ancient civilizations and the other species who had fought in war for control of this very center, as those who hold the center, as many have told, hold the key instrument to becoming the true leader of the galaxy. Of course those are just tales, but that does not mean many haven't sought it out for that very reason.
Within the ship, known as the Sense of Silver, a single mare, who stood on two hooves, with legs similar to that in shape of a Quarian, her torso having mostly human shape, alongside the two E cups, her arms were humanoid, with four digit hands, and finally she had the head of a pony, with a long black mane, a snow white coat, and deep violet irises. Alongside this, she wore a finely made uniform over her clothing, made of the finest materials that could stop anything short of a laser, with a few black reinforced plating, the suit itself was a snow white, with the symbol of Celestia's mark on the back of the uniform, her ranking on her left shoulder, her rank being that of a Major, and finally she had multiple medals adorned on her uniform from her extensive time in the battlefield.
Stopping at the door down the snow white hall of the ship she was assigned to, she pulled out a small datapad, holding it up to the lock, which caused the recently red light to turn green as a emotionless and synthetic voice echoed through the lock. "Ranking and Title recognized, access to the bridge is accepted. Have a safe trip, Major Solar Edge."
The mare, now known as Solar Edge, steps through the open door, walking over to the captain's chair, where the current captain of the ship resided. The mare in the chair turns to Seraph, a hand under her chin as the elbow rested on the arm of the chair, the white coated mare had golden irises that eyed the Major. The captain was a beauty that had no rival except for possible Solar Edge, catching the eyes of nearly any stallions and the occasional mare. She also bore a long blue mane, a color not too common among the ponies of the GSE. The ponies of the GSE consisted of very few colors, unlike their ancestors, and were distinguished by their faces and names now instead of the color of them. The most common mane colors were black, blonde, pink, and white, while the coats common colors were black, tan, orange, pink, or white, mostly acquired through their lives in space, though none are entirely sure how they came to be.
The mare sighs softly as she folds her hands over her crossed legs. "Major Edge, I assume you know why I requested you come here?"
Edge keeps her violet eyes on the mature mare before her, folding her hands behind her back as she says with a calm demeanor. "Only a few bits and pieces from the exhausted human male you sent my way, he seemed to be one of the attached types."
"Ah yes, the poor boy." The captain sighs, glancing to the side. "It's a wonder how he manages to do his work without going into a full breakdown in front of the two of us."
"Did you call me for a chat, or was there an actual need for me to be here, Captain." The Major says to break the ice.
"Yes, actually." The captain turns in her chair, looking out the window of the ship, where they could see the core planet below. "As you can see, we have found what we were looking for."
"I see." Edge says with the same serene emotion. "And are there any words on the ULR and EGP?"
"Not that we can tell, but odds are they are down on the planet as well, trying to take control." The Captain brushes her hair out of her face as she sighs softly. "I am worried as to what will truly be down there, so I need someone to scan the planet while we request reinforcements." She looks at Edge. "Suggestions?"
"Specialist Seraph Archangel, that is who I would recommend." Edge says calmly.
"Very well, we will send her, and we will do so now. This is a crucial mission, so I am entrusting your choice, Major."
Edge simply nods, before taking her leave.
Seraph, Lieutenant Commander of the GSE, and heavily trained in most all combat skills, sighs with a rather heavy if not tired breath, as she had gotten the debrief from Major Edge, and was now currently sitting in her new vessel as it descended to the planet on autopilot. As it had done so, she had gotten a quick meal of T-Bone, Crowned Vodka, and a baked potato with allioi. And now she felt a sense of tiredness, so she caught a few Zs earlier in the bed.
With a shake of her head as she now currently sat in the cockpit, she watched as the ship soon entered the atmosphere, goes through the fiery entrance, before soon making it out, and heading straight for the land below. She rubbed her chin as she discovered that the land she flew over had a lot in the name of medieval times technology, so with that in mind, she touches down at the nearest open area, and docks the ship, before climbing out of the cockpit, heading into the cargo bay, and loading up on a MA5C with 6 Magazines, a M99 with 5 Magazines, a pair of M1911s with 8 Magazines each, and finally a set of 4 Frag, 4 Smoke, and 4 Flash grenades. Before heading out, she also puts on a suit of MOK-44 Power Armor, designed for a mix of stealth and combat, so to be able to be prepared for either. And with that she opens up the cargo bay doors and jumps out.
But, much to her surprise, when she had come out of the cockpit, she had come into contact immediately with a group of six humans in blue and white armor and robes, making Seraph cautious as she kept her hands ready for any sort of movement. But much to her surprise, the one in the center, who looked to be rather young, yet obviously a veteran of war, steps up with his hands raised in a sense of peace. Taking this into note, Seraph slowly lowers the combat stance, but not her guard.
The human then began speaking in an unknown language, making Seraph sigh as she raised a finger and then placed two against the side of her helmet. Once it scanned for translations, it read that they spoke in ancient french, which made her nod as she turned to them and spoke, the translations having been complete. "My name is Seraph Archangel, and I am Lieutenant Commander of the Galactic Solar Empire, I come in peace."
The man with the large sword speaks at this, the man who talked earlier that is, wearing light plating armor with a long tunic replacing the additional armor over the torso. "I am Saito Hiragi, second child of the Hiragi family, a branched off family from the Valliere Family, and I am in command of this squad of Magic Knights, the Blue Templars."
Seraph grunts mentally at the fact they were medieval, definitely, and they specialized in combat and magic, which would prove to be a problem if she ends up fighting them. "Where are you six going?"
"We are searching for a woman, heading southwest, towards the city known as Hov, in an attempt to secure her before she reaches the city."
"Is she a criminal?"
"No, but she arrived through unexpected events, and the city of Hov is known as the City of Sin, Gambling, and Slavery." Seraph's eyes narrow. "It is the only city within these lands that practice in Slavery, so we have to play the diplomatic approach as we attempt to secure the woman before she turns into a slave of any kind."
"I see, well, I shall be willing to help, where do we need to go?"
Saito looks at the taller woman, who gives a nod, causing Saito to turn his gaze to Seraph again. "As we have said, we are heading Southeast, if you could manage to aid us, we would be grateful, and we would also be willing to compensate you."
Seraph could tell he was sincere, and of course she would need to learn the economy of this land. And to be honest, having a form of trust with the locals is a stepping stone to getting control of the planet itself. So, with a silent sigh, she nods. "Then let us get going, shall we?"
Saito nods, as the now seven members of the group begin their trek towards Hov.
Louise slowly opens her eyes to the sun shining into her room that next morning, making her yawn silently as she looks to her side, and sees Ember still fast asleep at her side, making Louise smile softly and sweetly as she gently kisses the dragoness on the lips, and begins snuggling with her familiar, enjoying the warmth that the dragoness' body was letting off.
After a bit of 30 minutes, Ember slowly awakens, yawning softly as she sits up, and looks down at Louise, blushing deeply herself as she gently strokes Louise's hair, making Louise open her eyes and look at her. The two simply stare into each other's eyes for a few moments, before Louise slowly sits up, stretching her arms out. "Well, we'd best get dressed and head to breakfast."
Ember's stomach literally growls like a demon at the sound of breakfast.
"Yeah, breakfast is a good idea." Louise enforced after hearing that, and goes to get dressed, before offering Ember a larger set of the clothes. "Kirche came by last night and offered some of her spare uniforms." She looks to the side with an annoyed look. "That damned Kirche, what the hell is she up to..."
Ember slips the clothes on, her wings immediately making holes in the shirt, but regardless, she was now dressed and no longer buck naked, so she couldn't complain. And with that, the two head out into the halls, down the stairs , and then head for the dining hall. But before they could make it far, the two heard a loud crash in the courtyard, making the two stumble, look at each other, before quickly bolting to the scene to see what the hell happened. And upon making it there, they stared with wide eyes and slacked jaws, like all the other students as they saw a massive metal beast, with a crescent moon insignia on the side, as out from the back of the ship, a pair of... Horse-people? Both with dark blue coats, however one had a pink mane while the other had a purple mane, and they stood on strangely shaped legs with hooves at the bottom, wearing suits of unknown kind, probably a uniform, and wore strange devices on their ears.
The two twin-looking mares looked around at the group of people, before the two pressed on their earpieces, before one spoke in their language. "Uh... We are envoys of the United Lunar Republic, and... Uh... We come in peace!" One shouts as they hold up their fingers in a V sign.
The twin slaps her upside the head as she spoke. "Idiot, now they think we're weird."
"We already were weird the moment we landed the ship, sis."
"...Fair point, I guess." The two slump their shoulders, having gone through yet another failed first contact.
Far in the outer reaches of the continent known as Halkeginia, within the sandy badlands known as Argeni, a embassy of the Enemies of Galactic Peace was set up before the war driven land, and the first steps to beginning their attempt at controlling the land, began with the first phase, releasing the flood among the surviving members of the badlands, but keeping control on them so not to go too fast or too far in such a short time, as they didn't think there was any fun in that.
While further in the wastes, a single Flood Hunter was wandering through the desolate badlands, before stopping at the sight of a strange metal sphere slowly rising from the sands, before a single barrel aims at the Hunter, and a beam of energy shoots out, hitting the hunter, and sending it's body to the void, before the barrel slowly retracts, and the sphere slowly returns underneath the sands of the badlands, lost once again.
