Once upon a time there were six mares that united and battled against evil for the well being of Equestria. The Six ponies spread peace, Harmony and Friendship across the land in a attempt to make the world a better place for everypony. Unknowingly the six ponies brought about a golden age for Equestria as a whole, The economy and infrastructure of the world advanced for generations. Though the mares did such a deed they didn't get to see it through to the end and one by one the mares passed on leaving the world to hopefully become an even better place.

Three thousand years after the era of said pony tale, Equestria has reached their hooves out in to the stars to find new worlds. Though the never expected to the ponies found a species already traveling among stars but this species seemed to be a king of changeling race that was far more advanced than anypony had seen. Though Ponies tried to befriend the new Race the Changelings seemed to not want friends... Instead they wanted blood.

War raged for so long and this is where this story begins, The Pillar of Autumn leaves Subspace from a blind jump to an uncharted are of space in order to flee from a platoon of Changeling ships. The Changelings however wanted to capture or kill everypony on the Pillar because of the special cargo the ship held on board... something they knew would throw a wrench in their plan.
