//-------------------------------------------------------// Displaced: Against the grain -by Vatore Greymoon- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 "Will you guys get the hell outta my way. I just want to talk to the Princesses about helping me find my daughter you morons. Damn, y'all act like I want to hurt someone." I was trying to keep my cool while dealing with the thirty guards in front of me, but it was getting harder to control my temper. I guess I could understand if a seven foot tall being built like a tank came walking in your front door and was pretty much was demanding to see the ones your sworn to protect, but like I said. I just need their help in finding my daughter. "How do we know you wouldn't hurt anypony? What reassurance do we have that is all you want" asked the guard closest to me. I sighed heavily and rubbed my temples. "If I was going to get violent, don't you think I would have started with you guys" I asked squatting down and arching a eyebrow. "Um..... Okay. You have a point, but court is in session and you can't interfere. You will have to wait and get a private audience with the Princesses later today." Standing I looked at the guard and shook my head. "Sorry, little dude, but that won't work. My daughter is far more important to me than Celestia listening to a bunch of whiny nobles" I stated as I did a vanishing step to the throne room doors. "You have my word" I started before looking back at the guards "that I'm not here to harm anyone and I will act accordingly with respect towards your rulers." I paused for a moment as my senses told me of three significant power levels behind the doors. Well, I bet I know who they are I thought to myself as I opened the doors. Or I should say I ripped the doors open since I was still getting familiar with my new body. There I was, standing with the door handles in my hands looking down at two doors that I had literally ripped off of their hinges because I was not accustomed to my strength. Dropping said handles, I shook my head muttering about said strength and started walking down the aisle towards the throne dias that held four thrones, three of which was occupied. Twilight sat in the furthest to the left throne with Celestia on her left and Luna was to Celestia's left. Making my way, I could see a wide variety of emotions playing out on the faces gawking at me. Awe mixed in with curiosity on some, but the most prevalent emotion was fear, especially when they noticed my size. Most of the ponies I had met only came up to mid thigh. I don't know how tall Celestia and Luna are, but I figure they should be over waist to chest high on me. As I drew closer to the Princesses, I noticed a filly was sitting with Luna and she was one I recognized. The filly had to be my daughter because she looked just like the oc she had created. A snow white earth pony with dishwater blond mane and tail. By then I was at the dias and looking at the filly. Celestia had started to speak, but I cut her off by holding up a hand. "Paige?" When I called her name she looked at me in confusion before she smiled and tears started to fall down her face. The one thing any parent will tell you is that you can recognize your child by their eyes. Especially if they take after you in that department and I was looking into the same shade of blue I see every time I look in a mirror. When she spoke, it was in a tear choked voice that still sounded like her. "Daddy?" "Yeah, its me short stack." My words must have been enough for her since she practically jumped from the top of the dias into my arms. Over and over she kept repeating "daddy" while in my arms. As a pony Paige was a lot smaller than she was as a human and had pretty well disappeared in the hug I was giving her, but she was happy to be back with me and was chattering about it the entire time. During her monologue I just happened to glance back up at the Princesses and could see them smiling at the scene in front of them. I let her continue for a minute before I interrupted her. "Okay, ya little chatterbox I get it. Let me speak to the Princesses so we can figure out what's going to happen to us. Okay?" "Okay, daddy." When I looked back to them, Celestia looked at my daughter then to me. "What relationship does she have with you?" "She's my daughter." "Adopted then" Luna asked smiling. "No. She's my daughter by birth." All three of them had looks of surprise on their faces, muzzles? Hell I don't know what to call them, but they definitely was shocked by what I said. Twilight finally stuttered out the question I'm sure they all had. "H...how is t..that possible? Your h...human and she's a pony, unless her mother was a pony?" "Its simple really. When she was born she was human and I was too, but now we are what's called displaced. She's a pony and I'm a Sayian. All because some cosmic entity wanted a thrill." All three had the fish look going and I'm pretty sure all of the ponies behind me was the same as well. It was a few minutes before any of them regained their composure enough to ask the inevitable question and it was Luna who asked it. "Who would do such a thing? To rip two beings from their home and change them into something they are not? What manner of creature would do this?" I thought for a moment before deciding to tell them the honest truth. I had read displaced fics before and I wasn't going to hide anything from them, but I didn't want it to be common knowledge, so I asked if we could continue in private. "Can we take this conversation somewhere private? I don't think everyone should know about the details of our arrival here." They traded looks back and forth before Celestia nodded in agreement. "As you wish." She stopped for a second before realizing something. "I'm sorry, but we never asked for your name. Your daughter claimed hers was Honeysuckle, we have heard you call her Paige. Is that her correct name?" "It is her middle name, her full name is Savannah Paige Voit. My name is Jeremy Lynn Voit." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 Following the three alicorns, I was in awe of the beauty of the castle. The show doesn't do it justice and the entire time of our trip, my daughter sat on my shoulders with her forelegs wrapped around the crown of my head steady giggling. "Having fun short stack?" "Of course! It's been along time since I could do this." I couldn't help but laugh at her, to see joy in her eyes again, especially after what the last two years have been like for us. After losing her mother and two brothers it was hell for awhile, but it started improving eight months after their deaths. My contiplations was broken when Celestia opened a door and invited us into the room. Ducking before walking in, I found it to be a study and going by the decor, I would have to say it was Celestia's personal study. After we got settled, Celestia looked dead at me and asked her first question. "What do you mean that you and your daughter was human?" "Its simple really. We was human until I bought the uniform I'm wearing and the necklace she has on. After I payed the man we both passed out and i woke up alone. Thats when I made my mind up and figured i would ask for your help looking for Paige, but it seems she found you." I paused for a moment thinking. "I know you will not believe me when I say this, but in our world, all of this" I said making a circle with my finger "is a work of fiction." They looked at me like I was a mad man. "Even what I am is from a fictional world. If you don't believe me, put me to sleep and take a walk in my dreams, which I know you can do" I said looking at Luna. "Sister?" Luna was looking at Celestia for her opinion and I could tell they was surprised by my words. Sighing, Celestia gave her consent. "Since he is willing to allow you to look into his dreams, go ahead and find the truth Sister." Nodding, Luna looked at me and prepared herself. "If you can, just relax. This shall only take a moment." When I woke up I guess, I was looking at a familiar scene with a crying night goddess looking over it. "Why the tears Princess" I asked walking up to her. "How did you survive?" "Thats the million dollar question isn't it? How did my daughter and I survive a accident that killed my wife and sons? That...that is a question that has haunted me for over two years and I doubt I'll ever know. Paige came out of it with a few minor injuries, but I was in the hospital for four months." Her eyes widened even more. "What was the severity of your injuries" she hesitantly asked. "Five broken ribs, a punctured lung, skull fractures, both legs broken and a broken back." I watched her ears fall and the tears that was already running down her muzzle increase. Without thinking about it, I walked over to Luna and wrapped her in a hug. "How are you walking still" she exclaimed in astonishment. "That many injuries should have killed you or left you a shell of yourself." "It didn't, but I was paralyzed from the waist down. I used a motorized wheelchair to get around. Anyways, this isn't my original body, remember?" She nodded in understanding then. "So? Is this enough evidence to support my claim?" "It is, thought I do have one question." I had a feeling about what the question was. I nodded for her to go on. "Since your daughter's arrival, she asked to stay by my side. Why is that?" "Back on Earth, those who watch the show that revolves around your world, have a favorite character that they love. You are her favorite pony. Is that enough of a explanation?" Luna looked at me with a stunned expression on her muzzle for a minute before coming back to reality. "What about you" she asked with a expectant narrowing of her eyes. I just smirked and nodded my head. "Yes, I have one, but you'll have to wait to find out." She tried the puppy dog eyes on me, but I just laughed. "Sorry Princess. Those don't work on me. I have a daughter remember, but I will leave you with this. Your not the only one who enjoys the night, but please, don't discuss what you have seen here. I'll tell my story in my own time." I whispered into her ear then I forced myself to wake up. Opening my eyes, I looked around to see the others looking at me expectantly. "How long" I asked glancing at Celestia. "Almost a hour. Did my sister find what we need?" Nodding my head, my eyes fell to my lap where my little girl, well I should say my little filly had curled up and went to sleep. "She was worried that you would say or do something stupid." Twilight added. My surprised expression was enough to get giggles from Celestia and Twilight. Luna still hasn't woke up yet. "Eh. What can I say. She takes after her mother in that respect." At that time, we all heard a mumble come from Luna about pancakes before her eyes popped open. "And I thought that I slept too much." I quipped. "Quiet you monkey or I shall call for some bananas to be brought to us!" "Luna! There is no need for name calling." "Well, technically it's true. Humans evolved from the primate family, but according to the Dragon Ball universe. Saiyans evolved from great apes." Turning to Luna, I did my best monkey impersonation. " oo oo ee ee" I said while scratching my armpit. She went goggle eyed for a second before she fell over laughing. I looked back to the other two alicorns and just shrugged. Celestia was hiding her smile behind a hoof and Twilight was giggling at me. "Okay, that's enough. Did you find out if he's a threat to us Luna?" After she finally stopped laughing, Luna sat up and answered her sister. "If that display wasn't enough of a indication, no Sister, he is not a threat. Neither are threats to Equestria. Though..." she stopped for a moment before looking to the others. "Both have known great pain in their lives and he is lucky to still be living." I watched as shock and surprise crossed the others faces before it morphed into sadness and compassion. "Something that I will tell you myself one day, but for right now, it's still too fresh and painful to relive." "Very well, Jeremy. Now, whose hungry?" Oh, Celestia is going to regret asking that. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 I think I scarred the Princesses that night. I had failed to mention that Sayains can eat a lot and I almost cleaned out the castle pantries. Needless to say, everyone was looking on in shock and awe as I chowed down while my daughter just shook her head and mumbled under her breath. "We're going to get tossed out because if your stomach daddy." I paused in the middle of a wonderful four cheese pasta dish to look at her. "What? I haven't eaten in three days, so yeah I'm hungry." "Well, I forgot that Sayians are bottomless pits." Having just finished the pasta, I looked around till my gaze fell onto a three tier chocolate cake that seemed to be begging to be eaten, but as I was reaching for it, Celestia grabbed the cake. Looking at me she yelled "I DON'T THINK SO" and disappeared. "Oh, come on! I wanted that!" "If I could, I will share some advice with you Jeremy." Turning to Luna I raised my eyebrows to signal her to continue. "Never get between Tia and cake. She might not take it well." "Noted and disregarded. That was my favorite kind of cake" I added. "Whelp, I done. I think I'll turn in for the night." "Before you go." I turned to see what Luna wanted. "Would it be too much to ask if you would give us a demonstration of your abilities in the morning?" I thought for a moment about the potential repercussions of said demonstration. "Sure, I guess I could. But, just yourselves and whoever else you think needs to know. If I truly have become my character, I would dare say I'm stronger than any of you." That got her attention. "How is this possible?" "Princess, I'm gonna be as honest as I can. I have the ability to destroy this planet with one attack if I wanted to." Fear crossed her features and I hated to see it. "You have nothing to fear" I began gently. "My daughter is happy here and because of that, I will defend Equestria with my life if needed. Besides" I began as I turned to make my way to my room. "I would never do anything to hurt my favorite pony. Goodnight, Princess." Waking up the next morning, I felt a weight on my chest and looking down, I could see my daughter curled up in a ball, sleeping peacefully. I had to smile knowing that she had found a little peace and had slept through the night for once. Maybe we can find that peace of mind we both so desperately have needed for the last two years. I laid there for twenty minutes with just random thoughts going through my head, when a knocking came from the door. "Yes?" "Mr. Voit? I was tasked with escorting you and your daughter to the dining hall." "Very well. Give us ten minutes." It took me almost the entire ten minutes to wake up the little ball of fuzz that was my daughter. When she finally opened her eyes, she just looked and me yawning "Eh?" "Well, good morning to you too. I would hazard a guess that you slept pretty good?" Nodding she curled back up to go back to sleep, but I did what any responsible father did....I sat up. A indignant squeal was my reward. "Hey! What was that for?" I snickered at her pouting face. "Sorry little one, but we've been called to breakfast by the princesses. So go and take care of your morning business. Okay?" "Okay." Hopping down from the bed she went and did just that. Meanwhile, I stood up and started stretching out my body. This demonstration might be a good way to test myself I thought. I somehow instinctively knew what to do, but I needed to practice and train to make sure of it. After another filling meal, in which I heard Celestia whispered to her sister, "I hope he doesn't eat like that at every meal. If he does, we need to increase the castle food budget just for him." I figured I needed to find a way to pull my weight after today. Anyways, it wasn't long before the princesses walked up to me. "Where would you like to do the demonstration Jeremy" Luna asked. "Somewhere that is very open and there is no way anyone could possibly get hurt and I should add that it needs to be somewhere that you don't mind getting destroyed too." When I said that, all four of them looked at me In concern before Luna perked up. "I know just the place" she said smiling. Once all of the ponies that would be witnessing my little demonstration gathered, which was about ten of them, Luna cast a teleportation spell. When we reappeared, it was to a barren stretch of plains that was about thirty miles from the base of the mountain that Canterlot rested on. Looking around I smiled and nodding turned back to them. "This'll work. Now. Do you want just a small demo or would you want to see what I should be capable of?" The four looked between themselves before Twilight spoke up. "We need to know what you truly can do." Taking a more serious tone, I nodded and started to walk away. "Very well. Full out it is, just a little advice. You might want to cast a shield spell and pump it up as much as you can. I really don't know the limits of my power." That drew some gasps from the onlookers. As I walked away, I started going over what I could do. I knew I could go SSJ3, but I didn't know if I could go beyond that. When I hit the fifty yard mark I figured I was far enough away and turned around. Sure enough, there was a protective bubble around them. "Oops! Hold on a minute." As I started walking back towards them, I removed the ornate gi from my upper body and my shades. Waving at my daughter, I set both items on her back. As I turned to head back to my position, I heard a gasp. I knew who it was and why she did it. Even though I have a different body, I still had the tattoo of Luna's cutie mark on my right shoulder. Looking back at her I smiled. "Now you know." When I got back to my previous position, I turned to face them. Gradually or all out I wondered, then a memory came to me. It was when Goku did his epic transformation to SSJ3 during Fusion Reborn. Grinning to myself I thought out loud. "This should be fun!"
