Thanks to an angry Tempest, Capper's house was destroyed. With nowhere else to go, he decided to move to Ponyville. Thanks to being one of the heroes that saved Equestria from the Storm King, everypony got together to make him a new house! He'd been pretty busy getting used to being the only Abyssinian around, but thanks to living in Klugetown for nearly a decade, he was used to being the only one. The ponies here were very nice, creepily friendly. He expected them to be like Kits of the Corn for some reason?
He was also surprised to learn about the Everfree forest and that it homed a Zebra. Funny, he didn't think Zebra liked to leave Zebrabwe? That wasn't the only odd thing about Ponyville. Nothing seemed to surprise them. Seriously, he heard about the Bug Bear that invaded once and they barely batted an eye. He was most surprised by the fact a bloody Draconequus hung around. He hadn't seen one for about, well, since he was a kit in Abyssinia! Unfortunately it was a female so not the best weekend... Capper hoped it was a male that lived here, because if it was a female then they were screwed.
"Hi Capper!" said a very happy purple mare. Capper waved slightly at the pegicorn. Or was it unisus? Whatever "How're you doing in Ponyville?" he just shrugged "Oh, well, i want to talk to you. Sorry if this is intrusive, but what exactly are you? You look like a cat, but i haven't found a single book about anything that looks like you!" ah, this must be that research mode the southern one warned him about. Capper didn't fancy meeting another research nut, they had the habit of trying to turn him into a taxadermy display... Not great memories.
"I'm from Abyssinia, and my species is Abyssitire. Our homeland was taken over by Storm King, and a lot of us escaped to all over the world. Some in Trotsylvania, some in Mustangia, a lot in Drapan, Eagleand... We're nearly everywhere." speaking of, he would have to let Abyssinia know Storm King was dead, if they didn't already know? Hm, looks like he has something to do over the weekend. Hopefully he wouldn't meet Chummer, because that backstabber should be skinned for the stunt he pulled! "I wanted to go to Drapan, but i, well, an ex-friend burnt down a hot air balloon i thieved off my tail for, so i got stuck in Klugetown..."
"Oh, sorry for the bad memories." She'd have to ask Celestia about Abyssinia, she'd never heard of such a place. Now she knew about Trotsylvania, Mustangia, even Eagleand but nothing on Drapan? This 'Abyssitire' had been to many places Twilight knew barely anything about, so she wanted to learn more. It was very hard taming her 'research mode' as Twilight's friends called it, but it was growing to be more difficult every second "So, what's Drapan? Sounds like it involves dragons."
"How do you not know what Drapan is, you literally have a Drapanese creature living here. The Draconequus is a native to Drapan," he said, the mare's eyes widening "You seriously didn't know?" no, Twilight thought Discord was just that, Discord. He had a whole species? Screw holding back, this was incredible! Twilight started speaking faster than Rainbow Dash could fly, all of her questions unable to be answered right now thanks to her speech speed. She stopped and apologised, reeling herself off the confused bipedal cat.
"I-i'm sorry, it's just, we don't even know the plural for Draconequus! All this time we thought he was just some spirit but no, there's a whole country of them! It's a lot to take in." think of their culture, their language, their books! "Could you tell me about his kind? Again sorry for my pushiness, it's just, this is a massive breakthrough in the field of magic! I assume all Draconequusseshes can do that chaos magic stuff, there's so much to learn!" Capper was inwardly relived when she said 'he'. Thank god it was a male...
"The plural is Draconeqi," he sighed, getting his bearings from this very excited mare. It was odd how little they knew "Well, uh, I'm extremely thankful it's a male that's here and not a female." She looked at him with a confused expression. It was probably seen as an insult since Equestria had a very high female to male ratio. So much so it felt more awkward being a guy than being a giant handsome smooth talking feline "See they're like mutant Rhea birds. Two Draconeqi bonk, and after the female lays the eggs, she leaves to go to another male, and the one she just mated with looks after the young for about a millennia. Males are stronger, faster and are the only gender to use chaos magic, mostly so they can provide everything for their young... The girls, they're, well, bitches. Cannibalistic even. They see a male unguarded with cubs, or just cubs on their own, she'll eat them." he shuddered. Wait, why the hell did he wanna go to Drapan those years ago? The place is native for Draconeqi, the females to be exact. Capper happened to like being alive.
"Are you serious!?" he nodded, shocking the purple mare. She originally thought Capper was being a bit mean about females, just from a bad experience in the past, but no. They were naturally monsters! What beast would eat a foal, or cub in this case!? She'd been writing down everything that Capper had been saying, and it frightened her. If Discord had been female, they would likely have rather been in Tartarus. Sweet Celestia how evil! At least the girls can't sue chaos magic, it'd be pretty terrifying if they did "I need to talk to Discord about this! It's horrible! We need to do something about it!"
"Twilight, you can't. that's like telling Pegasi they can't fly anymore, and if they don't listen to you, then you force them to the ground. it's nature, you can't go messing around with it." although Capper had a funny feeling she'd do it anyways "Tell me, when has messing with nature ever worked out for you Equestrian's?"
"Oh well, not very well actually..." it made her sick to her stomach, but he was right. she couldn't change it, no matter how disgusting it was "I tried to get Parasprites to stop eating our food, but i made them eat objects! i tried to speed up winter wrap up with my magic, but that made things worse. i tried to force Vampire Fruit Bats to stop eating apples, but turned Fluttershy into Flutterbat!" those bats died soon after that happened, and she was banned from using magic like that anymore. Celestia herself banned her... "I'd probably make the Draconeqi go extinct..." Capper looked up at a pink could, his ears twitching. he could see a red dragon tail, so that was something to be afraid of "what is it?" she looked up, and saw the cloud "Oh, Discord's here." she could've said he was a Titan Stage, but then he remembered she knew next to nothing, other than what he just said "Hey Discord! can you come down here for a minute!"
Capper was to say the least, surprised to actually see a male for the first time. he'd seen a female, but not a male before. the Draconequus seemed equally surprised to see a kitten from Abyssinia here? must be what all those ponies were running around for earlier. Twilight started talking, asking questions he'd been wanting to avoid for centuries... he assumed she'd gotten these little facts from the Abyssitire beside her, and he was annoyed. Discord didn't want people complain about his species, he didn't want them to take pity on what was their nature and didn't want to get the more invasive questions. he'd been asked things like that before. he'd even been asked what animal his 'male part' was from. ugh, it was so annoying!
"I don't talk about my species for a reason, sparky. i want to avoid these stupid questions." Twilight should've expected that, yet she didn't "You shouldn't stick your nose where it doesn't belong, Midnight Sparkle." she felt bad at how uncharacteristically annoyed he was. Starlight had told her that when she mentioned Fluttershy being taken by Chrysalis, his eyes literally turned to slits and glowed, which Twilight thought was an exaggeration. but no, it was dead on. because she was looking into two glowing red slit irises right now...
"Discord!" Rarity said as she saw how aggressive the Draconequus was being with Twilight and their new friend Capper. the beast was going to scare the poor thing right out of Ponyville at this rate! "I must say you are being extremely rude, they have done nothing to deserve this aggressiveness! i expected Rainbow Dash to get such a treatment, but not dear Twilight and innocent Capper here. you should apologise!"
"Apologise?" Discord snorted, looking the Abyssitire up and down. hm, he was a feline, wasn't he? well, it looked like Discord has his way of getting back at the wretched thing "I think you should say sorry to Copper here, you DO own a cat, don't you?" Discord was the proud father of a pregnant silence that lingered around the Abyssitire and the prissy unicorn. This was going to be wonderful to watch in the future, just seeing how they looked at one another now was wonderful! this ship had been burned down, like Rarity's chances of being friends with little Cap here.
"You, own a cat...?"
"Umm..." She couldn't say no, since Opal was in fact her pet, but saying yes wasn't a good idea either. She was going to make that Draconequus pay for this! although, poor Capper was likely to find out anyways, so this was on her. her friends said the cat was evil, maybe more ways than one... this was going to be very, very awkward.
