A friend in needby Demonic DragonChaptersChapter 1 Karma takes no prisonersChapter 1 part 2 Heart broken songChapter 2 part 1 An important dayChapter 2 part 2 FearChapter 1 Karma takes no prisonersSpike sighed heavily as slowly walked down the dirt road leading out of Ponyville. On his back he carried a small back pack. Today had just been the worst he had ever had. The morning was good so his day wasn't all bad. But, the afternoon was when karma decided to strike. When it struck it hit him with everything. It all started when he offered to help his friend Applejack. flashback “Hey, Applejack!” Spike shouted as he walked up to her apple stand. Applejack turned to look at her friend. She smiled happily, “Howdy, Spike.” She replied as she placed another crate of apples on her back. Struggling a little as she felt a wave of pain shoot from her back. Spike took notice of Applejack's look of pain and immediately got to her side. “Are you okay, Applejack?” He asked while helping her get stead on her hooves, “Do you need help?” He asked. Immediately Applejack's eye's went wide in terror. She would never forget the last time Spike had helped her. “No!” She almost shouted thankfully she did catch herself, “No, Spike. I've got it.” She finished as she took a single step forward. Only to immediately hiss loudly as a sharp jolt of pain shot from her back. Applejack stumbled a little; causing five apples to fall from the crate on her back. They fell to the ground and rolled out onto the street. “Oh, no!” Spike said as he turned to run and go pick up the apples, “I got them!” He finished. Unfortunately the young drake was not quick enough. Before he knew it; some stallion pulling a taxi wagon. Trampled all over the apples; turning them into nothing but a mess of squished apples and dirt. Applejack gave an angry sigh. Mostly at herself for not taking her pain medication earlier. But, she was also annoyed because she had a small mess she had to clean. Spike groaned sadly, “I'm sorry, AJ,” He began, “I'll help clean up.” He immediately offered. “NO!” Applejack immediately turned down; causing Spike to look back at her, “No, I got it. Just go on your way Spike.” She dismissed him. Spike felt hurt at what she just said to him. Slowly, he walked away from her and continued on down the street. He did his best to try and cheer himself up. But, his heart still stung a little by being dismissed by his friend. All he did was offer to help clean up. He didn't make the mess and he did offer to help carry the crate. So, why did he still feel horrible. He eventually sighed and just tried to forget about the whole ordeal. But, his bad luck was only beginning. The Mayor of Ponyville galloped through the busy streets of her town. She had a distressed look on her face; along with saddles bags filled to the seams with important paperwork. She was in a hurry because she was running late for a very important meeting. As she ran she did her best to keep from crashing into other ponies; saying the occasional “Excuse me!”or “Pardon, I'm late for a meeting!”. She was making good time; she even had a little hope that she would make it. But, that was until. “Hey, Mayor!” Spike said as he waved at her. Unfortunately, They mayor saw him at the very last minute. She released a panicked cry as she instinctively jumped over the young drake. But, that did not stop her from landing right into the town fountain. It didn't take long for Spike to reach the fountain. What he saw made him cringe a little. That mayor was halfway deep in water. Her mane was slowly turning blue for her dye had not yet dried. And, all her papers were water logged. “No,” The Mayor groaned as she tried to gather some of her papers, “No, no!” She finished in a voice filled with irritation. “Are you okay?” Spike asked as he jumped into the fountain. The mayor could only glare at him, “Do I look, okay?!” She replied clearly irritated by the question. Spike did not want to upset her any more that she already was, “I'm sorry,” He quickly apologized before jumping into the water, “I'll help y-.” “No! No!” The mayor suddenly shouted at the drake; which made him immediately jump out of the water, “Just!” She took in a much needed deep breath of air, “Let me.....clean up my mess.” She finished. Again, Spike felt a pain in his heart. All he did was offer his help and once again he was turned away. It made him feel hurt but he also knew how someponies were. Sometimes when something bad happens to them; they just need to be left alone. With a heavy sigh and heart he continued on his way. It was mid-afternoon when he finally reached his home. Gently, he opened and closed the door. “Twilight,” He called out but received no answer, “Twilight, I'm back!” He called out again but still got no reply. He figured that she was either busy writing a report in her study or reading a book in her library. With a exhausted sigh he made he started to make his way to the kitchen. Hoping that he still had some leftover gems. As he walked towards the kitchen he ended up passing the library. Where he heard Twilight laughing along with Rainbow dash and Fluttershy. It caused him to smile and he quickly turned to join his friends. “Man, how lame can a dragon be?!” The voice of Rainbow dash laughed. Spike once more felt pain in his heart. But, he was also slightly confused. Slowly he approached the entrance of the library. But, he kept himself hidden allowing him to listen in on their conversation. Soon he heard another fit of laughter come from the library. “I'm surprised we just can't get rid of him,” Spoke the voice of Pinkie pie. Spike did not hear her laughing so he was unaware that she was there, “I mean there's gotta be somedragon better than him.” She finished. “I know,” The voice of Twilight agreed, “How come we were unlucky enough to get stuck with him.” She finished. “Hey,” The voice of Fluttershy defended, “Stop picking on him. He's come through for us a couple of times.” She spoke. “Darling, please,” The voice of Rarity argued, “Sure he has helped us. But, the useless drake has done more harm than good.” She finished. Unknown to them Spike stood right outside the entrance of the library. Tears ran down his eye's like rivers. While puddles of his tears started to form on the floor beneath him. His heart was completely shattered now. The ponies he cared for; the ones he though cared for him. Hated him. With a quiet sob he quickly moved away from the entrance. Only to quickly walk towards his room. Where he locked his door and threw himself onto his bed. Hugging and crying onto his pillow. Inside the library the five mares he had heard talking sat. They were seated in a circle; with comics books placed in front of them. The comic books had the same name on them. “The Power Ponies Humdrum's return.”. Apparently after their adventure in one of Spike's comic books; each of them-except for Applejack- had wondered what else and who else they had to fight. In the comic book their were reading. Humdrum had decided to leave the Power Ponies. Thankfully, somepony was able to take his place. But, it was not somepony very helpful. “Why did Humdrum have to leave us?” Rarity read from the comic book. Doing her best impersonation of Radiance. “I'm not sure, Radiance,” Replied Twilight as she read the speech text for the Masked Matterhorn, “Like he told us all. He needed to clear his mind; maybe all this crime fighting was starting to get to him.” She finished reading. “I hope he's okay,” Spoke Fluttershy as she read for Saddle Rager, “How long has it been since we heard from him?” She finished reading. They then looked to Pinkie Pie; waiting for her to read her line, “Hold on, girls,” She said as she stood up. Allowing her to stretch her stiff limbs, “Ah.” She sighed in relief as a series of cracks came from her limbs. Rainbow dash stood up and did the same thing. Sighing in some much needed relief, “Man this comic is getting good,” She commented as she stretched her wings, “It's also a better read when we act out each character.” She finished. “Even better than the Daring Do books?” Rarity asked as she stretched herself out as well. Rainbow quickly shook her head, “Not even close.” She replied. Twilight gave a small chuckle, “I'm glad all of you are liking this reading session,” She spoke as they looked towards her, “Do you think we can do this more often?” She asked. All of them nodded and voiced their agreement before they continued reading. Never noticing or hearing the distant, pain-filled, cries of Spike. Who's heart had literally been shattered by their misunderstood words. Spike did not know how much time had passed. His eyes and throat were sore from all the crying he had been doing. Now all he did was sit on his bed; staring off into the darkness of his room. Letting the sound of silence try and comfort him. But, it only brought little comfort. As he sat on his bed he began to think about what they had said about him. The more he though about it; the more he came to realize that they were right. He never bothered to help Twilight when Nightmare moon had returned. All he did was fall asleep. When he thought he was being replaced by Owllicious; did he bother to talk to Twilight and the others? No, instead he made a complete fool of himself by trying to set the owl up. Only to runaway a few hours later. Then there was the time when he got greedy. He almost destroyed all of Ponyville. For, a minute he though hard. Hoping that he did do some good. Which he did remember. The time when he helped Twilight save the crystal empire. Then when he saved the Equestria games. He remembered when he helped his best friend, Thorax. He even helped his other best friend, Ember. Surely all of those good deeds out weighted the bad? No, they did not. “I tried to keep Ember and Thorax apart when I invited both of them to Ponyville,” He growled out in anger as he hopped off his bed. Allowing him to pace back and forth, “I made both of them mad at me; because of my own stupidity,” He continued, “I ruined the Cloudsdale anthem,” Another good deed of his gone, “I even ruined being a Princess for Twilight when she counted on me to fill in for her!” He released another growl of anger as he dropped to his knees and started to cry. Not in sadness but in anger. It was all true. They didn't need him around; they did not love him. He was, no, is a lame dragon. A useless, waste of scales, whelp, who was probably orphaned by his parents. Because they knew; they knew that was what he was going to be. A burden on anypony or anything that chose to raise him. When that reality had hit him. It hit him like that time when he tail wrestled that one dragon during the migration. But, this was his reality. The love and acceptance he though he had was all a lie. End of Flashback Spike stood at the entrance of the Everfree forest. A place he had been to multiple times. But, this time he planned on staying gone. He was finally going to do something right. He didn't want to be a burden on them any longer. With a single step he entered the Everfree forest. A single step he was preventing and fixing many problems. With a single step.......he was leave his life in Ponyville. A place that did not need him. A place that..........wanted him. Author's Note Chapter 1 wish me luck with this new fic. I would appreciate any constructive criticism or any kind of comment. please leave a like or review. thank ya. Chapter 1 part 2 Heart broken songSpike sat calmly inside a dimly lit cave. In front of him was a small campfire he had made. His knees were pulled up to his chest. He stared deeply into the fire; hearing the occasional crack or pop coming from the wood. But, that was not the only thing he was hearing. In the distance he heard the howling of the Timberwolves. Their howl's chilled him to the bone. The howls were followed by the flash of lightning and the mighty boom of thunder. Looking towards the entrance of the cave; he saw a large downpour of rain. He released a heavy sigh; before reaching around and grabbing his backpack. He had learned from the last time he had ran away. Instead of just tieing a small sack filled with a couple of snacks to a stick. He actually planned ahead; after all he did not know how long he would remain in the forest. This time he had brought a sleeping bag with him. Along with a few other things that may sustain him for a temporary time. But, at the bottom of the pack were three comic books. He layed out his sleeping back and pulled out a bag of hay jerky. But, unintentionally he had pulled out something else. It was a small piece of paper that had fallen to the ground. He reached down to pick it up; only to sigh in sadness. It was a torn picture of him. Although it was a torn picture of him his image was not torn in half. Or, damaged in any other way. No, only the edge of the image was torn. He held the picture in his claws for a few seconds. Only to crumble it into a ball and chuck it into the fire. He stared at the image of him slowly burning with the fire. Slowly, fading from all of existence. Just like he would eventually. A single tear rolled down from his right eye; it rolled right down to his chin. And, then it fell to the cave floor below. He quickly wiped his eye of any more tears; before he walked over to sit on his sleeping bag. Another sound of thunder echoed through the cave. He had already finished his bag of hay jerky and had crawled into his sleeping bag. His campfire had already died down to that of barely lit embers. All he did was lay on his back while looking up at the ceiling. Sleep, was doing a very good job at avoiding him that night. It wasn't that he was having trouble sleeping. In fact he longed for sleeps peaceful embrace. But, thoughts from earlier still floated in his mind. “I wonder if they know I'm gone?” He asked himself before turning to his side. Yes, he was wondering if his friends had noticed he was gone. While at the same time he was wondering if they cared. After all they had said about him. Did they even care that he ran away again? Their words echoed in his mind. The pain he felt in his heart had returned and the tears feel from his eyes again. It was hard to accept what they had said about him. After all each of them were important ponies his life. But, the most important one was Twilight. She had hatched and along with Celestia; had raised him. “I miss you, Twilight,” He whimpered out as he tried to keep himself from crying again, “I miss you so much.” He finished before finally entering the realm of dreams. A few hours later he woke from his sleep with tears falling from his eyes. He sobbed quietly as he tried to hide inside his sleeping bag. As he slept he suffered at the hands of a very good dream. A dream he wished was real. A dream he knew would never be real. He shook a little bit before burying his face into the pillow the bag. “I loved all of you,” He whispered to himself as his tears soaked into the pillow, “Why? Why can't you all love me?” He finished with a heavy heart. For some reason he started to hum a gentle tune. Slowly he sat up and hummed a little louder. The thunder and lightning proving him with a little music. (Am I making the right choice?) He sighed heavily as he stared at the entrance of the cave. The rain poured heavily; but, all he could see was the image of Ponyville. Although everything there was a lie; it was still his home. A home he missed greatly. (Leaving those I love behind.) He shivered as he felt the storms cold air blow through the cave. (Knowing that they don't want me around.) He looked over at his pack; only to slowly get up and walk towards it. (My heart aches for their love and kindness.) Opening his backpack he reached in a pulled out a small photo album. (I long for their warm and loving embrace.) He opened the album; but it only had a single photo. The photo was a group photo of Twilight and her friends. But, he was no where in the photo. (But, they don't want me.) He slowly slid one of his tallons over the picture. ((They don't want me.)) He hugged the picture close to his chest. (They don't want me!) Tears fell from his face as he remember all the good times they shared. The good times that were all lies. (No, they see me as an annoying pest. They wish I was somepony else. Somepony who they could actually rely on. Somepony smarter. Somepony braver. Somepony stronger. I'm none of those. I'm just a lame dragon who causes nothing but trouble.) He could hear all the words he said to him. All the time they told him he was a friend. All the times they would hang out with him. A wave of pain shot from his heart. All of it was a lie. (When I heard what they said; I heard joy and laughter in their voices.) He started to remember everything he had heard earlier. (Unknowingly they finally opened up my mind.) He began to shake again. Only this time it was in anger. (Even though the broken pieces of my heart have fallen to the ground.) He growled a little in anger as his grip on the photo tightened. (Oh, how I wish they didn't see me as something useless.) He looked at the photo once again. (Now, its the world I must face.) He focused on all of their faces. He saw how they smiled; possibly happy that he was not in the photo. (I though I was family.) His anger started to rise. ((I thought I was family.)) His anger finally took over his mind. And, in a instant he shot a jet of his fire-breath at the photo. Burning it to a crisp. (I though I was family!) Again he started to sob heavily. He was so angry at them. While at the same time; he couldn't stay mad at all of them. For, he had to much love for each of them. (I didn't want to leave but it was for the best. My heart has shattered like glass. I bet they're happy that I'm gone. I wish that our friendship was for real and would last forever. But I should've known better. I should've known nothing lasts forever. Now I've been hit with the hardest of all blows. I wish I had somepony to cuddle.) He sobbed heavily as he walked to the front of the cave. (Although they never loved me; their the only ones who filled my heart empty spaces.) He stared out at the rain. Watching the lightning streak across the sky. While the thunder roared loudly. (I'm tired of being selfish; so now I'm going to do something kind.) He walked away from the entrance. As he gently wiped his tears from his eyes. (I guess I will no longer be dragging them down.) He slowly got into his sleeping bag. (I'm sorry for being so clueless.) He shivered again as more cold air blew through the cave. (I'm sorry for being such a disgrace.) He stared up at the ceiling. Sighing in depression as he closed his eyes. (I'm sorry.) one final tear fell from his eye. ((I'm sorry.)) He started to curl himself into a small ball. (I'm so sorry!) He pulled his tail in between his legs and held it against his stomach and chest. He longed for Twilight's warm embrace. (My heart has been ripped from my chest. Hopefully I will be left in the past. Not going to lie, its been fun. This pain may stay with me forever. I'll miss all of us being together. But, I;m making their lives easier. I feel so empty and hollow. But, hey, at least I will no longer be causing trouble.) Eventually, he did fall asleep. He felt so cold and alone. His heart was empty, hollow, and broken. He longed for his friends. But, they did not want him. This was his life now; a life that he had to accept. A life that was cold, heartless, and unforgiving. A life in reality. Chapter 2 part 1 An important dayTwilight waved goodbye to her friends before retiring back into her castle. A happy smile was stretched across her face. Today was a very good day. For, her and her friends had just did a role-play group reading. Once the door to her home close she began to walk to her room. As she walked down the hall; she stopped in front of the door to Spikes' room. She used her magic to gently open his door. She did her best to keep the hinges of the door from squeaking loudly. Although the inside of his room was dark; she could still see his still form lying on his bed. She giggled a little. “Goodnight, Spike.” She whispered before closing the door. When she finally reached her room; instead of heading right to her bed. She went right to her desk. With her magic she turned on a small desk lamp. On the desk was a large desk calender; she used her magic to levitate the tip of her quill into a small ink bottle. She then crossed out the date that was coming to an end. She looked at the next date which caused her to smile. Tomorrow was a very important date. A date that was not only important to her. But, it was also important to Spike. Yes, tomorrow was a very important day for both of them. Because tomorrow was they day her and Spike official became friends. She yawned loudly before switching off the light and walked to her bed. She then layed on her bed and feel asleep. She dreamed of the fun her and Spike would have tomorrow. But, there was something strange about the dream as well. At one point her and Spike were walking down the main street of Ponyville. Only to suddenly have a huge Ursa major appear in front of them. It roared loudly and swung its deadly claws at them. Although it was a dream; she had an overwhelming sense of danger. A few hours later Celestia rose her sun into the sky. Its rays stretching over the land bellow; slowly they stretched into Twilight's. Making her squirm and moan in discomfort; clearly not wanting to get up yet. But, unfortunately once she was up. She was up. She yawned as she got out of her bed. Stretching her stiff limbs as she tried to wake her body up. With a yawn she walked out of her room and headed for her kitchen. Trying her best to not wake the young drake. She sighed in relief when she reached the kitchen; thankfully without making noise. But, then came the hard part. The only thing that was incredibly difficult for her. Cooking. She wasn't a bad cook-once every other blue moon- but she did have her moments. Like when she almost burnt down their old home. Nopony, not even Spike, let her live that moment down. She just wanted to try her hands at making an omelet. Which turned into a pan sized inferno. Which almost turned into a library sized inferno. Thankfully for her Spike was woken up by the smoke. She was also very thankful that he remembered where the fire extinguisher was. “I wonder if he will ever let me live it down?” She asked herself with a small chuckle. It took her a little while but she did eventually finish cooking breakfast. Surprisingly, she did not start a fire again or blow anything up in the process. She had made herself her favorite breakfast; along with Spike's. She smiled at her work, “Spike,” She called out to him, “Breakfast!” She finished. Silence was the response she got. A silence that made her feel odd, uncomfortable, curious. “Spike,” She called out again, “Breakfast is ready!” Once again silence was her answer, “Spike?” She called out before she left the kitchen. She walked to his room and gently knocked on his door, “Spike,” She called out to him in a gentle voice. Using her magic she opened his door; flinching a little as the door creaked loudly. Once the door was fully open; she saw Spike still asleep. It made her smile at how cute he looked when he was asleep. Gentle, she walked to the side of his bed, “Spike,” She whispered as she lifted her hoof up to his sleeping form. Only to gently shake him, “Spike, Wake up,” She continued while still shaking him. But, that was when her instincts kicked in. Instincts that she had ever since she had hatched him. Instincts that told her that something is not right, “Spike!” She called out to him in a sense of urgency; while bringing her other hoof up, “Spike, wake up!” She said in a louder tone while shaking him a little move violently. She eventually caved and used her magic to yank the blanket off him. Only to see three pillows lying on the bed. She was frozen for about five seconds. But, for her it felt like hours. Everything stopped, time, her mind, her heart, all of it stopped. When she finally snapped back into reality; her mind went into overdrive. She searched for Spike everywhere in the castle. Calling and yelling his name. Hoping that he was just pulling a very mean prank on her. When she didn't find him in the castle; she knew that he had run away again. She ran out of the castle and out onto the streets of Ponyville. She called for Spike begging for him to come out. She asked almost everypony if they had seen him. Only to have them tell her no; before they started to help search for the young drake. Eventually all of Ponyville and Twilight's friends were searching for Spike. The search lasted long into the afternoon and into the night. Everypony was tired and worn out from the search. Almost everypony was physically tired. But, Twilight and the other were both physically tired and emotionally tired. Twilight, ended up crying herself to sleep that night. Thankfully her friends had decided to spend the night with her. Rainbow Dash even went the extra mile; just by laying in her bed with her. Just so that she could have somepony to hold onto. Somepony that she could pour all her emotions into. Somepony that could just hold her. She was happy to have friends like them. But, she would never feel whole. None of them would ever feel whole. Not until they finally got their Spike back. Author's Note I apologize in advance for this chapter being short. This is more of a filler chapter than a major chapter. So, yeah, the next few chapters I will do my best to make longer. but, there may be a few more filler chapters. just to make the story a little longer. well anyway take care y'all. Chapter 2 part 2 FearTwilight released a tired sigh as she drew another X. Three days. Three very long days had passed. All of Ponyville had been searched; along with all of the Everfree forest. The neighboring villages and city's had been searched as well. But, there was no sign of Spike. If Twilight had anymore tears to cry she would be shedding them. But, she had no more tears to cry. Her movements were sluggish; her eyes had bags underneath them. And, her mane looked like a crow had made a nest in it. She didn't care about her appearance though. Without Spike by her side; nothing mattered to her. She gazed at the map in front of her. It was covered in X's; which felt like salt in her slowly bleeding wound. “Where are you?” She asked in a voice as soft as Fluttershy's. She walked away from the map and headed for his room. When she reached his room; she walked up to his bed and layed herself down onto it. For, the last two days she had slept in his bed. His bed gave her a small form of catharsis. But, it was not enough. She would pull his blanket close to her chest. Bury her face into his pillow; trying her best to inhale what little of his scent was left on them. She would weep into the pillow as she cradled the blanket. Calling out for Spike before crying herself to sleep. She released another sigh before releasing a small sniffle. The tears began to flow; her eyes squeezed shut. And, she began to weep into his pillow. As she cried Starlight had walked into the room. She had a look of sadness on her face as she walked to the mare. She crawled into the bed behind her friend and held her. “We're going to find him Twilight,” Starlight tried her best to sound reassuring;while at the same time she doubted her own words, “We're going to find him.” She finished. Twilight immediately turned around and hugged her friend. Weeping heavily into her chest as her emotions poured out of her. All Starlight could do was hold Twilight. She gently rubbed the back of her head; while she also gently hugged the heartbroken princess. “Starlight.” Twilight whimpered out. “Yes, Twilight.” She replied as the mare looked at her. “This is my fault,” She sniffled as tears rolled down her face, “I'm the reason why he left.” She finished. “No,” Starlight replied while making Twilight look at her, “No, you didn't make him run.” “I did Starlight!” Twilight shouted as a small amount of anger entered her face, “I did make him leave,” She continued as she sat up in the bed, “I treated him more like a maid; instead of a friend! I would make him clean up all my stupid messes. I almost always treated him like dirt! I......I,” She fell back into Starlight's chest and began to cry heavily again. Starlight heard her say something; but, whatever she said was muffled by her chest. She moved Twilight away from her, “What did you say?” She asked. “I wished he was more like Smartypants once,” Twilight answered in voice just barely above a whisper, “I even wished I never hatched him.” She finished. Starlight remembered when Twilight had told her that the first time. It made her sigh as she pulled her close once more; letting Twilight's tears wet her shoulder and back once more. Both of them lay back down on Spike's bed. Twilight had cried herself to sleep again. While Starlight stayed awake; looking out the window. She watched as Celestia slowly lowered the sun; while her sister raised the moon. She wondered if Spike was doing okay; hoping that he was safe and sound. Hoping that he would someday return. Twilight gasped loudly as she shot to her hooves. She breathed heavily as she rapidly looked around. She stood in the middle of a large swamp. She felt like she was being watched by something. Something hidden inside the swamp; it infected her with fear. She couldn't catch her breath; she couldn't calm herself down. She felt something; something strong. Something........evil. Her eye's then feel on Spike. Who lay on the muddy ground just a few feet away from her. “Spike!” She screamed as she tried to run towards him. Only to feel the ground below her sink; slowly pulling her under, “No!” She cried as she tried to free herself. “Gotta, let him go.” Twilight gasped as she looked around; trying to find where the voice had come from. She struggled harder against the ground that continued to pull her under. She tried to use her magic but it would not work. She tried to flap her wings but the ground held tight. She looked at Spike again; only to scream out in fear. Around the dragon stood some kind of monster. They looked human; except they seemed to be covered in oily veins. They had long dagger like fingers on their hands. They had no eye's only mouths filled with large sharp teeth. They slowly began to close in on him. “NO!” Twilight screamed, “Stay away from him!” She continued. All she could do was watch as the monsters closed in on him. She felt so helpless. She felt like a mother who could not get to her foal. Her cries echoed through the swamp. Begging for them to stay away from her dragon. Pleading, for those things to stay away from her baby. “Gotta, let him go. He's needed in this bayou.” “Help me!” Twilight shouted as she sunk further into the swamp, “Whoever you are! Please, help me! Help Spike!” She begged the voice. “The bayou wants him. He's needed here.....not with you. Gotta, let him go.” Twilight fought harder against the muck that pulled her down further. Now, she was halfway sunk into the ground, “No,” She screamed as she looked around for the owner of the voice, “He's my baby! You can't have him!” She yelled before looking back at her dragon. What she saw made her blood run cold and her heart stop. He was being held by a young girl. Probably the same age as Applebloom in the human world. She wore solid black clothing; her hair looked like it had oil in it. Half her face was hidden behind her long hair. She gazed at Twilight with a twisted grin on her face. As she held the drake like a baby. “He's.....mine,” She spoke in a voice that was a mixture of a whisper and a hiss, “He's mine now.” “No!” Twilight screamed. “The bayou needs him. The bayou wants him. Needed here. Gotta, let him go.” The voice repeated itself over and over; while Twilight sunk deeper and deeper. Eventually all that stayed above the mud was her nose and eyes. The tears fell from her eyes as the girl began to do something to Spike. His scale turned as dark as night. His spike became bone. His teeth grew sharper and larger; while his tail was pulled back into him. She shut her eyes; and screamed in her head as her baby was taken from her. When she opened her eye's her eyes widen in shock. Spike and two other humans stood in front of her. To Spike's left was a teenaged human girl; with snow white hair. She was dressed in jeans and wore a gray tank top. While to his right was an elderly man; who wore camo jeans, worn boots, and a solid white tee-shirt. Around his neck hung a pair of silver tags. Both Spike and the man had a strange metallic device on their arms. One was on Spikes right arm; while the man had it on his left. The teen held a small short sword; which looked more like a knife. “They will protect him. They will protect this bayou. They need him. Gotta, let him go.” Spike then placed a gentle claw on Twilight's horn. Filling her with a small amount of hope, “Goodbye, Twilight.” He said before he pushed her down into the mud. “SPIKE!” Twilight screamed as she sat up in his bed. She was covered in sweat. Her heart hammered inside her chest, and she shook violently. Almost as if somepony had thrown cold water on her. The door to Spike's room swung open. It caused her to look towards the door. Allowing her to see Starlight running up to her. “Twilight,” She yelled in concern as she ran up to the mare, “Are you.” She was interrupted by the mare wrapping her in a desperate hug. Twilight cried heavily into Starlight's shoulder. While Starlight did her best to try and calm her friend down. She didn't know what Twilight had seen in her dream. But, whatever it was. It scared her probably almost to death. She could hear whispering in a voice that could probably beat Fluttershy's softest whisper. “Spike, please come home,” Twilight begged as she continued to pour her emotion out onto her friends shoulder and back, “Please, come home my baby.” Author's Note Chapter 2 part 2. In this chapter is a hint at what will happen to Spike in the sequel. that's right this story is getting a sequel. I'm also sorry for the long wait. I was kinda away.
Chapter 1 Karma takes no prisonersSpike sighed heavily as slowly walked down the dirt road leading out of Ponyville.
