The hallways bustled with all sorts of students rushing off to their homes, eager to relax after a hard day of study and work. Only one student was planning to stay behind. Sunset Shimmer dashed into the library, waving goodbye to her friends. She beamed, seeing thousands of books around her, and she ran to one section in particular.
The Yearbook section was one of the most popular, students loved to revisit past memories from photos. Sunset grabbed the first one she saw. She dusted the cover, and opened it up, seeing it was from four years ago. Staring at her mean self, she didn't feel upset, but felt proud of who she had become. But one photo really caught her attention.
It was a photo of her on a stage, along with Snips and Snails. She scratched her head. When was the last time she spoke to her former minions? Despite her being mean, she did consider them her best friends, and closest companions, but after leaving her past, she left her old ‘friends’ behind. Sunset went through her mind. She had treated them so badly, and they had still been so faithful to her. Maybe now was a good time to apologise.
The doorbell rang inside the Rainbow Dash fan club meeting, held in the Canterlot Movie Club’s treehouse.
“Could someone get the door?” asked Scootaloo, fixing up her Rainbow Dash wig. When nobody went, Scootaloo groaned and opened the door, to see Sunset Shimmer.
“Um, sorry to disturb you guys. Can I talk to Snips and Snails?” asked Sunset. Scotaloo nodded, as Snips and Snails walked over.
“Sunset Shimmer?” asked Snips.
“Uh, can we talk outside?” she said.
“Look, I’m really sorry. Before I became, well, nice, I never really acknowledged you two. I never admitted it, but you were my best friends, the only people who kept a little good alive inside me. So for all the pain, insults, ect. I’m truly sorry” said Sunset, looking down. Snips and Snails shared a glance.
“Are you kidding? We loved being your minions! Everyone in our grade thought we were so cool!- Ah, I miss those days” said Snips dreamily.
“Yeah! I loved roaming around, acting all cool and awesome, it was amazing!” sighed Snails. Sunset blinked.
“You’re not mad?”
“Of course not!” Snips and Snails said in unison. Sunset smiled, relieved.
“Well, to be honest, I kind of miss being that ‘bad girl’ sometimes” admitted Sunset sheepishly. Snips and Snails chuckled.
“So great to see you again!” said Snips, saying goodbye. Sunset waved back, heart content.
Sunset sat near her balcony, watching the setting sun. Her earlier conversation with Snips and Snails had really got her thinking. Her words echoed in her mind, I kind of miss being that ‘bad girl’
Of course, she didn’t want to be a manipulative she-demon, but roaming wild and free in the halls, being the boss girl of the school, she missed that. Not making people run away, exactly, but that feelings of being strong and powerful was one she enjoyed. Sipping her coffee, a thought raced across her mind. What if she hadn’t changed?
But Sunset knew one person who would have the answers she needed. Taking a deep breath, she ran to her closet and pulled out her overnight bag. It was time to make a trip to Equestria.
Looking around to make sure not one saw her, Sunset Shimmer took a deep breath and stepped in to the portal. In Equestria, Starlight and Twilight were working on a spell as the portal to Canterlot High started glowing and vibrating as a orange unicorn with fiery red and yellow hair stepped out.
“I’m here” said Sunset, wobbling a bit, until falling onto her fours. Starlight and Twilight raced over and embraced Sunset.
“What brings you back to Equestria?” asked Starlight, “Not that I mind you coming”
“Can we sit down and talk?” asked Sunset. They sat down in the Throne room, as Spike came over and greeted her as well.
“So what’s wrong Sunset?” asked Twilight, concerned. Sunset sighed. How could she put this?
“Uh, well, I-I” started Sunset. Starlight moaned, impatient to hear what she would say. Sunset rolled her eyes and continued, “I miss my old days”
“What old days?” asked Twilight.
“You know, when I wasn’t so nice” Twilight’s face became even more worried while Starlight’s grinned.
“So?”
“So, I miss being the ‘bad girl’ of Canterlot High, and this feeling is just creeping me out!” explained Sunset.
Starlight snorted, “I miss being bad all the time”
“You do?” said Twilight and Sunset at the same time.
“Of course, your past is a part of you, embrace it”
Twilight chuckled angrily at Starlight, “I don’t think we’re supposed to encourage her being evil again”
Sunset groaned, “Then what are you suggesting I do?”
Before Twilight could answer, Starlight stepped forward, “Go back to being that ‘bad girl’, with Snips and Snails”
“WHAT!” shrieked Twilight, as Starlight nodded.
“If you don’t fulfill your desire now, it’ll come roaring back so powerful you won’t be able to control it”
Twilight started panting hysterically, as Sunset smiled, “You know what, that sounds like a good idea”
Hugging Starlight, Sunset trotted back into the mirror. Before Twilight could freak out, Starlight teleported away, leaving Twilight with mixed emotions.
“You’re doing what now?” cried Applejack, as the girls met up near the Canterlot statue.
“You heard me. I need to go back to being bad for one day” started Sunset.
“Woah woah woah. We can’t go back and start thinking you’re bad. We’re already BFFs” Rainbow Dash said, kicking her soccer ball against the wall.
“That’s why I have this spell to erase your memories for a day” said Sunset, pulling out a scroll from her bag.
Rarity and Fluttershy shared a look, “Are you sure using magic is a good idea?”
“Absolutely. Here goes nothing” said Sunset, breathing in.
From in your heads, to my words,
now you shall find yourself in a world that I summon, bring forth the memories I becon forth,
a world with Sunset Shimmer a villain

Something I just thought of last minutes, please enjoy!
Sunset Shimmer watched in awe, as green swirls ran towards her friends minds, and their eyes flashed green. The school emitted a green colour as well.
"What are you doing here?" sneered Pinkie. Sunset smiled nervously- this would take some time to get used to to.
"Excuse me? Do you know who you're talking do?" growled Sunset. Pinkie meekly ran out the room, as Sunset felt light-headed. She hadn't been mean for a while, and it felt good.
"What are you all looking at?" said Sunset, flashing the others a shark-like grin. Before she could say anything, the other girls ran off. Smiling to herself, Sunset bolted outside, ready to see the world. Sunset whistled, and Snips and Snails stood behind her. Strutting down the hall, everyone looking fearfully, Sunset felt at ease, letting everything out. Shooting a glare at a staring girl, she was greeted by Flash Sentry in the hall.
As he extended his arm, Sunset felt confused, but soon realized, she erased everyone's memory back to when she dated Flash. Taking his arm, she walked down the hall, everyone hiding or looking fearfully. She felt amazing! At lunchtime, she stood near the line with a sneer on her face, as everyone made room for her to go first, not wanting to see her wrath.
"We only have regular salad today" explained the girl on lunch duty. when Sunset complained over the salad, Sunset glared at her.
"I said I want a Caesar Salad, and that's what I'll get!" she yelled. The girl's hands shook as she dropped her spoon.
"I'll see what I can do" the girl mumbled, running into the kitchen. In under two minutes, the girl returned with a perfect Caesar Salad and handed it to Sunset trembling. Sunset shot one final look of anger before marching off, Snips and Snails at her tail.
"Sunset, over here!" called Flash, waving. Sunset smiled happily. She had forgotten how much she had missed Flash's company as well.
"How's my girl?" he asked, chewing on an apple.
"Great. I guess" Sunset replied. As much as she missed being bad, she missed her friends as well. Sunset glanced backwards, and seeing the girls all separated again, she felt a pang of guilt. Brushing it off, she faked a smile a continued eating.
"Sunset, you seem quiet?" asked Snails. Sunset sighed. She couldn't tell what it was, but Sunset just felt sad and upset.
"I can't place it, but I feel kind of sad" Inside, Sunset knew what it was. The day was almost over, and so was her reign over Canterlot High. All good things must come to an end, as the saying said. But for some reason, Sunset just wasn't satisfied yet. Maybe one little day wouldn't hurt?
Twilight was freaking out majorly as Sunset and Starlight had a calmer conversation in Equestria.
"YOU WANT TO KEEP BEING BAD?" screamed Twilight, as Sunset rolled her eyes.
"Well, I um-" said Sunset, unable to say it. Starlight placed a hoof around her.
"Sunset here wants to be bad for another day. What's wrong with that?" asked Starlight. Twilight flew around in circles.
"This is going too far" she said, breathing loudly.
"I say do it- one more day only" said Starlight. Sunset grinned, and stepped back into the portal before Twilight could object.
"Did you just do that?!" yelled Twilight. Starlight chuckled and ran off.
"Hey Sunset, coming from Equestria?" asked Rarity. Seems like their memories had returned.
Sunset nodded, "Sorry girls, no time to talk, I need to go" As she said that, she dashed towards Canterlot High, leaving her friends confused.
"Was it something I said?" sighed Fluttershy, as the others rolled there eyes. Meanwhile, Sunset bolted into the most secluded place she knew of. The janitor's closet was strictly off-limits, but fortunately, Sunset had found spare keys. Digging through her bag, she found a tiny key, opened the door, and closed it, locking it from the inside. Panting, Sunset pulled out the scroll with the spell. Her mind raced. Was this really as good idea?
"It's been a while since I've seen you here Sunset" said a voice. Sunset lifted her face from her hands to see Flash Sentry smiling at her.
"Oh, um, hey Flash" she said, hiding the scroll behind her. Flash tried to look behind her, but Sunset pulled her bag in front.
"What's behind you Sunset?" asked Flash. Sunset started sweating nervously.
"Nothing" she replied, plastering a fake smile onto her face. Flash stared at her with a amused expression.
"Hand it over" Sunset sighed, and passed the scroll. Flash's eyes scanned the text as Sunset got up.
"What is this?"
"A spell to remove everyone's memory until I want to" Sunset said, knowing she couldn't hide it anymore.
"Why would you need it?" As soon as Flash said that, Sunset knew she wasn't going to get away with it now.
"Well, I-uh," said Sunset, stumbling for words, but she suddenly felt anger, "I have to be this total 'good girl' all the time! I can't handle it. I miss my old days, strutting through the halls, feeling strong, in control of my life. Now I have no roll. My friends are complete without me, I don't feel needed. I miss being the bad girl. I can't always be perfect, but I didn't want to make everyone remember my past"
Flash's face softened as Sunset kept ranting, "So I thought if I make everyone forget about my reformation temporarily, I could relive my past which I want. I don't know how to keep up my act, I just want to let loose and yell to the world sometimes, but I can't"
By now, hot tears were streaming on Sunset's face, as she choked on her tears. Flash came over to her and embraced her. Sunset sobbed on his shoulder as Flash laughed.
"You're going to ruin my jacket!" he joked. Sunset laughed through her tears, and looked up at Flash.
"I missed you as well" she said, as Flash grinned, "So, what do you think I should do now?"
Flash thought, " You don't want to hold yourself back, but you don't want to loose your friends. This is really tough one"
Sunset sighed, turning towards the door. "But-" said Flash, as Sunset turned around, "I think I have an idea"

Next chapter is here! I'm actually pretty surprised how successful this story has been, considering it was very unplanned, I thought of it during Health class when we were discussing the importance of who you are. In fact, 'Dear T.S' is also very successful, and it was a non-romance, and so is this one, so maybe I'm better at non-shipping stories...
