Knack

Twilight Sparkle was in her room as she was writing a short story on a piece of paper to pass the time. She wasn't going I sell the story of anything but she was going to share it with whoever wanted to see what it said. As she wrote on the piece of paper she heard something going on downstairs.

She wondered if one of her friends had come to see her although her friends were never seen out past the afternoon as the sun was already setting since it was almost time for bed. Curiosity got the best of her as she got up and went downstairs to see who was at the door. When she went downstairs she opened the door and was greeted by Spike.

"Where have you been?" I thought you were in the castle." Twilight said. Spike shrugged and moved past her as he set down his stuff. Twilight stared at him in disbelief as Spike was ignoring her? Twilight turned around and stared at him.

"I was out having a late dinner with Rarity. It ran a bit late than what we were expecting. Where have you been?" Spike asked mocking her. Twilight glared.

"Here. I have been here the whole time. I've been writing." Twilight said. Spike shrugged and watched Twilight put her coat on and opened the door. Spike looked at the clock and then gave Twilight a confused look.

"Where are you going it's late?" Spike asked. Twilight grabbed her keys from the wall and hooked me to her pants and then pulled the door open and looked back at him as she sighed in annoyance.

"I'm going out for a while. You can stay out of trouble while I'm gone. I'm only going to be gone for a few minutes you will be fine." Twilight said. Spike gave her a concerned look.

"Just be careful it's dark out." Spike said. Twilight sighed as she waited for him to be quiet so she can speak.

"Just promise me that you can stay out of trouble for time being that I'm gone. You should be able to do that. Do you remember protocol?" Twilight said.

"Yes Twilight I'll be fine. No answering the door. No answering the telephone. Call the emergency services in case of an emergency and if I'm hungry there is pizza in the fridge I know." Spike said while groaning. Twilight nodded.

"Good I will be back." Twilight said she closed the door and locked it. She took a short stroll towards the exit of the town. She stopped and sat on a bench. Before she could relax she heard something coming from a cluster of trees before her she stopped for a second and stared in that direction.

The noise sounded really scary. She stared in fear in the direction it was coming from. She put her stuff away and decided to go and investigate it, she got closer to this entrance of some kind. It was almost pitch black outside so she had to be careful. She took out her lighter and lit it guide her way although it wasn't enough.

She slid into the cave and walked in the direction the noise was coming from. Her hands were shaky as she tried to move through the the dark cave. She couldn't see ten steps ahead of her even with the lighter that was lit. She moved as slowly as she could.

It took forever to get to where the sound was coming from. She head never seen this entrance in Ponyville before until tonight. She felt deep dread as she walked through the cave. That was when she got to an ancient looking door. She wondered if she could push it open.

She tried as hard as she could to push it open. She struggled as it wouldn't budge. She pulled as hard as she could and then she managed to pull it open and in the center was a pedestal with an orb on top of it.

She moved slowly towards the orb as it floated on the pedestal. She reached her hands out and the orb flew into her hands. She had never seen an object that looked like what she was holding now. She realized that it must be very ancient as the temple looked ancient.

She decided to take the orb and the pieces and went back home. She felt bad for stealing but she wanted to discover what she was holding could do. She went back home and spread them out on the table in front of her and looked over them.

When Spike entered he looked over the pieces with a confused look and he looked at Twilight who was trying to figure the pieces out. Spike approached them as well and looked at them.

"What is that? Where did you find these...relics? They look like relics but I've never seen relics that look like that before." Spike said. Twilight shrugged.

"I've never seen anything like it either. I found it in this small cave near our town. I don't know why something this strange and ancient looking would be located here." Twilight said. Spike looked them over.

"Are you going to bed Twilight?" Spike asked. Twilight shook her head.

"No I am going to stay up. Goodnight Spike." Twilight said. Spike went to bed as Twilight continued to study the ancient relics. She drank coffee to stay up as she tried to figure out what they were.

While she was studying them she studied the puzzles etched on the pieces and soon she came to the realization of what it might be. It took hours to study it but once she had what she needed she was able to activate something inside of it to make it start a formation of some kind.

When she had finished she looked over at what had formed on the table and she saw a strange relic looking creature that had a cone shaped like head. It looked at Twilight and spoke.

"Hello. I'm Knack." It said.
