On this particular morning, Cheerilee woke up to the sounds of birds outside her window, she got out of bed and walked to the sink to wash her face when she looked in the mirror what she found wasn’t very pleasant, there were little orange marks all over her body.
So she packed her saddlebags and went into the ever free forest to find Zecora, because only Zecora has the power of a healer to heal the sick and the wounded. No other pony in Equestria has that ability, at least not to Cheerilee’s knowledge.
But that was soon to change, for in Southern Equestria there lay a small village in a swamp and it was said that in that swamped lived a healer by the name of Mage Meadowbrook.
Cheerilee lived at the very edge of Ponyville in a small house, the house was no longer than a hoofball field, the house had all the basic necessities there’s a house needs it had a dining room it had a little garage which no pony use because they didn’t have cars.
Zecora and Cheerilee were very good friends, one always knew what the other wanted they did not read words to know what the other wanted.
As Cheerilee made her way to Zecora’s hut she reminisced about all of the things that friend like to do, she go on there for many years and she knew all the ins and outs of the first.
Once Cheerilee arrived at the hut, She knocked on the door in a very rhythmic pattern that Zecora recognize very well.
Once the knocking had completed the door opened to reveal a very old Zecora.
“Hi, my friend, it’s been a long time since we have seen each other” Cheerilee said to Zecora.
“Yes, indeed this is quite a surprise, so what brings you on this quest of the wires?” Zecora asked.
Cherilee lifted the hood of her close to reveal the marks on her body.
“Oh dear, this was my worst fear” Zecora gulped.
The inside of Zecora’s hut was not very well kept over the years, her herbal recipes lay about the room like they have not been used in 18 years.
Zecora went through some old books until she found the one that she wanted, then she brought it over to the table and opened the book to the first page on the first page there was a mask.
“This is an old healers mask, it was once owned by a pony not far from here but no pony has heard of her for many years Zecora said with a slight grin.
“Was that pony’s name Mage Meadowbrook”
“Yes” The zebra answered.
“I know she lives in a swamp, then we must go to that swamp and see if we can find a remedy for this disease” Cheerilee said between coughing up bubbles.
“Indeed but how are we going to succeed?” Zecora asked.
“I don’t know that yet but I know of a pony who can teleport us to the swamp” Cherilee said as she walked out the door followed by Zecora.
Once they reached the castle of friendship Cherilee knocked on the door, then a couple seconds later A purple dragon poked its head through the door.
“Greetings, Spike” Cherilee said to the little dragon.
“Hello what brings you to our humble abode,” Spike greeted back.
“We seek a healer from across the land maybe you would be so grande, to show us the way to her glorious land ” Zecora said.
“Hold on let me go get Twilight” Spike said as his head pop back inside.
A couple minutes later Twilight came out of the castle with Spike by her side.
“Hello, Zecora and Cheerilee, i’ve heard you are looking for a healer that lives in the swamp, luckily I know just the spell that will get us there” Twilight said while lighted up her horn.
“Hold on, this is going to be a bumpy ride” Spike said as he held on the back of Twilight.
In seconds they were in a slump, and at the end of the murky water stood a house that looked like a tree.
“Here we are, the bayou” Twilight said as she landed.
“Mwadowbrook, will know what this is” Cheerilee said as they walked to the house and knocked on the door.
A very old pony that looked to be about 88 opened the door and stared at them for a long while.
“Well I’ll be damned, if it ain’t Twilight Sparkle” The old pony said to Twilight.
“Cattail,it has been a while” Twilight said to the pony whose name was Cattail.
“Won’t you come in and make yourselfs comfortable,” Cattail offered.
“Cattail, we have actually come to the swamp because one of our friends is very sick, Cherilee has swamp fever,” Twilight said pointing at Cherilee who was sitting in one of the stools that Cattail had provided.
“Let’s see what I can do because ever since they moved the flash bees, ponies have been turning into the same tree from with that flower I want to spell long-ago more and more often” Cattail said with a determined look on his face.
“What are you mean all of the bees have been moved?” Cheerilee asked.
“Well, on this land slammed there are supposed to be houses built, so they are carrying all of the all the buildings down but now we have to hope that they do not come next week and tear this house down as well,” Cattail said with a very solemn expression on his face.
“I am afraid there was nothing I can do the cure for swamp fever is gone and this house is going to be demolished in eight days, i’m real sorry Twilight” Cattail apologized.
“It’s OK I have as long as you tried,” Twilight.
“Wait so we’re just gonna give up I don’t think so that can’t happen we need that cure and we need it,” Spike said in defiance.
“Spike is right, you know we can’t just give up” Cheerilee Said.
