The Lunatic Guardian

It was a quiet night in Equestria. While most ponys are asleep, there was one moving through the night. In search. . .

While this lonely pony traveled through the land, coming upon a small town. Where this town's sign was shrouded in darkness and was in disrepair. Making it difficult for the lonely pony to know what town it was. Moving through the town aimlessly, until hearing a cry for help coming out from a dark alleyway. The lonely pony decided to go and help whoever was in trouble.

Arriving in the dark alley the wandering pony saw about eight stallions, surrounding a single poor young mare. These stallions had a lustful look in their eyes, as they eyed up the mare. The stallions looked about to rape the mare. "Please let me go home, I don't want any of this!" says the surrounded mare that was clearly in distress.

"Oh, but why? We just want to have. . . a very good time with you~. It would even be so good, that you wouldn’t even want to go home. . .” The boss of the gang of stallions said stepping closer to her with a confident smile. “. . . forever." His lips curling up into a sadistic smile "Take her boys!"

But before anypony could make a move; the wandering pony spoke up. "Stop right there! Get away from the Mare or I will be your Enemy!" shouted the lone wandering pony.

The boss of the gang, was the only one with balls to say a thing "Who is it this time?" He spoke with a hint of annoyance turning around towards the sudden shout. Only to be surprised to see a large mass of a shadowy black silhouette of an alicorn-mare. Stepping out of the shadows showing the alicorn mare in all her glory. She had a blue and black mane and tail, and was also adorned with a black armored piece and a black cape. On her left side, she held a Black Katana and on the right side a dark blue Katana. Her wings also had blue and black armor over them, including her legs as well. On each leg, there are two bracelets, one right over the hoofs, and the other one right above the knee. Each bracelet on the front legs had each a red diamond, right in the middle; and on the hind legs. They each sport a blue diamond in the middle instead of red.

While looking over the alicorn-mare he noticed a death-like stare. The mare was glaring with a deep filled hate. The boss observed that the alicorn-mare had a blue "Pony" eye on the right, and a red "Dragon" eye on the left, and on her flank, he saw an emblem on the cape; It showed off a winged shield with a sword in the center behind the shield and on the shield, it was adorned by the moon.

"You want to stop us? Who do you think you are, and who do you think you are talking to?" The boss stallion asked with a raised brow. Seeing her has nothing more than a bug under his hoof ready to be squashed.

The wandering alicorn spoke again with disapproval. "I don't know who you are, but trying to take advantage of a poor mare here with a group of 8 Stallions no less! Is something where I think: All of you. . . should be. . ." Her red dragon eye on her left glowed dangerously. "BURNING IN HELL." It was almost laughable how the alicorn talked, prompting them to not take her serious.

"Guys. . . go and get her, but don't kill her, I want some fun with her too," The boss said to his lackeys with a perverted smile on his face, turning back to the other mare. "While you guys take care of the black one. I’m going to have some fun with this cutie here,” He chuckled darkly walking closer towards the mare in distress, who started to cry huddling at the dead end of the dark alley.

Without saying a word. the lonely dark alicorn that could have misinterpreted for “Nightmare Moon” unsheathes the dark blue Katana from her right side using her magic. Getting ready to fight, while the group of seven stallions charged straight for her.

The lonely mare looked with her red “Dragon” eye. Eying the group waiting for them to get within range. While holding her katana with her magic. Her horn illuminating the once dark alleyway, with a bathing shower of light. The group of stallions quickly surround her; in the tight alleyway. Her size and how the buildings are so small made it crowded. The seven thugs lunged towards her at the same time, trying to pin her down. But at that moment, in a blink of an eye; she lifted the sword swiftly spinning and slashing with her sword. This only lasted for about less than a second. She casually slid her Katana back to it’s sheath. Starting to walk towards the boss of the now “dead” group of stallions.

The boss stallion turned around to face her. When he didn't hear the sound's of a mare begging. Everything was too quiet and the only thing that could be heard were her echoing hoof steps. That were heading towards him and all of his stallions stood around in place; where the alicorn was once standing. All of their heads were sliding off their slashed neck's. Then all at once, the stallions dropped to their knees. Getting into a kneeling position. Then their heads dropped onto the dirty cobblestone floor.

The Boss stallion was in shock seeing his whole gang had gotten taken out in a span of a second. "What. Have. You. DONE?! You killed all of my stallions, are you crazy?!" He shook his head in disbelief, he couldn’t believe his eyes.

The alicorn looked down at the stallion towering over him. "No, I am not crazy, but you are, you messed with the wrong mare at the wrong time and you even tried to RAPE a mare in front of my eyes. The only way you will get out of here alive is if you have information on me, but I don't trust you, sooooo. . . tell the devil I sent you and say Hi for me," The alicorn told him with a playful smirk while she continued her confident stride towards him. Pulling out her black katana, ready to take his head.

"No-no-no, please! No! Anything but death! please let me-" The alicorn interrupted him, taking his head clean off with the black Katana.

The damsel in distress that was now saved walked over to her savior, wiping tears out of her eyes with her left fetlock. Shaken up by the traumatic even that had recently happened. She felt it... justified... to see the ones' that tried to hurt her... hurt. As ironic as that was she was grateful that she had been saved. Not many mares could say the same. "Thank you, for helping me. . . but who are you?" Asked the poor mare that was assaulted by the stallions. She looked up at the dark alicorn in wonder as the darkness once again swallowed the alleyway.

"I don't know who I am or where I'm from. The only thing I know is, that I am cursed and that I am a... guardian, but don't know who or where I’m from." The dark alicorn explained.

"Oh, I’m so sorry her that. . ." The small mare trailed off, "You know what, I want to invite you over to my house. So you can sleep, and have something to eat. I could try and help you where ever I can," The grateful mare stated a small smile starting to slowly form on her face.

"Alright, I accept this offer of yours, but I can only sleep in the day time and awake during the night,” The alicorn explained with a small nod of her head. “So where do you live?" She asked starting to walk out of the dark alleyway with the small mare in tow.

"This way, just follow me, oh by the way, you can call me Rose," Rose said with a bright smile that reflected in the moonlight. She got in front of the alicorn, leading her home.
After a few minutes, both mares arrived at Rose’s place. "Come on in, hmm. . . what should I call you?" Rose asked pressing a hoof to her chin in thought.

"Call me. . . what you think best fits for now." The alicorn shrugs unsure. "Until I can truly recall my real name," The dark alicorn said closing her eyes relaxing her posture.

"Ok then, would it be ok if I call you. . . Night? Because. . . you’re dark and. . . blue. . . and. . . you know Night time. . . " Rose laughed nervously rubbing the back of her neck, with a hoof intimidated by the large dark alicorn not wanting to be vaporized by laser beam eyes or something it that nature. Could alicorns do that? *shiver*

"Yeah sounds good, why not, for now. . . you can call me Night," said Night with a small smile gracing her muzzle.

"Ok, you can rest here in the living room, while I make you something to eat," Rose said leading the alicorn inside closing the door behind her. Night had to crouch in order to fit through, Nearly impaling the ceiling with her horn.

"Ok," Night said quietly laying down on the sofa. Then right after she started cleaning her Katanas. Washing out the splotches of blood stains, here and there, with her magic. It was too much blood. Because she had struck so fast that nearly almost to none had got on her weapon of choice.

Minutes later Rose came back with a plate balanced on her back. "Here, some apple pie and fruit salad."

"Thank you," Night said politely taking the plate in her magic, hungrily she started to eat.

Rose began to relax seeing the alicorn happily eating."So, do you know where you want to start searching for answers?" She asked curiously wanting to know, sitting down on the floor, in front of the couch.

"No, I don't even know which town I am in or where I should start," Night explained.

"Well for starters we are in Somnambula, and. . . for starters-” Rose repeated with a coy smile. “-I would have to say that you should start your search in Ponyville, where the Princess of Friendship resides, she is one of the most well-known pony for knowing-” Rose laughed at her own joke. “-pony in all of Equestria!”

"That sounds like a good idea, so how would I get there?" Night asked leaning in closer eager to know what Rose has to say.

Rose smiled at how cute Night’s eagerness was, it was almost childish. It was like she was talking to a young foal. "It would be, if you go from here through the desert to the north, til’ you get to another town called “Las Pegasus”. Well, it's more of a city than a town, but never mind that. There is a train station. Go there so that it can take you to Ponyville, it's said she resides in the Majestic Giant Tree Library," Rose finished softly.

"Ok then I have for now a goal," Night looked at a clock mounted upon the wall nearby. To see that the time was around 05:30. "But, for now, I should get some shut eye, have to go to sleep at 06:00 in the morning, so where can I sleep for the day?" Night asked Rose with a slight tilt of her head.

"You can sleep in my bed for the day, while I stay here during the day so you can sleep peacefully," Rose said with a kind smile.

"Thanks for everything, you've helped me a lot. Helping me find a new goal, and a place to sleep, and a meal, thank you. I've rarely seen any kindness like this before... it warms my heart to know that their are ponys around like you. Sorry for my rambling," Night smiled sheepishly. "I should really be going to sleep now."

"Sleep well~” Rose cooed seeing Night leave, exploring Rose's house in search of her room to sleep through the day.
