Rarity was brushing Sweetie Belle's hair one afternoon in a gentle manner as both of them had finished work for the day. Sweetie Belle smiled as as she got her hair brushed by her sister who brushed it behind her.
As she brushed her sisters hair she made sure to get the knots out of Sweetie Belle's hair so that none of it would be tangled up anymore. She had to pay close attention as she wanted to make sure that her sisters hair was done properly. She soon finished and put the brush down and her sister turned around and hugged her tightly and then stopped and pulled away from the hug.
"What do you want to do now?" Sweetie Belle asked her big sister. Her sister smiled as she tried to think of something to do with Sweetie Belle. She shrugged as she answered Sweetie Belle.
"Well that's up to you not to me I can't make that decision for you. Do you want to go somewhere to do something or do you want to stay here and do something?" Rarity asked. Sweetie Belle thought about what to do.
"I'll do anything that you have in mind." Sweetie Belle told her big sister. Rarity looked at her little sister for a few moments and then looked around at her place and realized that their wasn't much for them to do at Carousel Boutique. Rarity tried to think of an activity that they could do together and then she spoke.
"Do you want to go see a movie Sweetie Belle. There are several movies playing at the Ponyville cinema that we can see together." Rarity said, Sweetie Belle nodded enthusiastically so Rarity got that day's paper and read some of the movie reviews and saw a very good one that she had been hearing about.
The movie was called Life In Equestria which was a biographical film about the problems in Equestria and it was also about how Princess Twilight was trying to deal with these problems. She had heard that it was very good and that it had a five star rating and had already won ten awards. The only problem that she had with it was at it was rated r and Sweetie Belle was to young to see a rated r film unless she had parent take her.
Rarity looked at Sweetie Belle as she thought about what to do. Sweetie Belle smiled as she told her that they could see any movie Rarity wanted but Rarity spoke.
"Are you sure their isn't anything that interests you Sweetie Belle?" Rarity asked and Sweetie Belle told her that the only interesting movie that was playing was Life in Equestria and she said that she couldn't see that movie because it was rated r. Rarity's eyes widened as she got a grand idea.
"You can see that movie actually. I'm an adult so you can go as long as your with me, you don't have to be seventeen you can go see rated r films with me if I deem them acceptable of coarse I can pay for both of our tickets." Rarity said. Sweetie Belle grinned.
"Now I can brag to all of my classmates as I'll be the kid who was able to see a rated r film while underage as they are always whining how they want to see want to see one! Plus that one looks awesome as that movie supposedly has pictures of Twilight's fight with Tirek and they show the destruction after and everything!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed.
"Alright we can go now. I'll have to stay in there with you just in case if things get a bit to mature for you." Rarity said. Sweetie Belle nodded and they both went to the local movie theater. When they got there they Rarity explained to the ticket booth person that they were seeing Life In Equestria and that she would be accompanying her little sister who wanted to see it as she was her big sister. When they went to buy tickets the person at the stand spoke.
"The rule is if you are taking your younger sibling you must accompany them into the theater and watch it with them. They aren't allowed in there by themselves so an adult must watch it with them. We aren't responsible for any trauma that might occur while watching this film. This film is being considered as the most graphic film ever to exist in Equestria. Are you sure you want to to buy a ticket for her?" The man asked. Rarity nodded.
The man shrugged and let Rarity buy two tickets. They were shown to their seats and they sat down. Rarity saw that the theater was already packed with people as she heard that the movie was more popular than the new Daring Do movie that came out recently. Even Rainbow Dash, who is a big fan of Daring Do said that Life in Equestria was way better than the Daring Do sequel.
Their were only a few previews and before the movie started a rarity told Sweetie Belle that if things got scary then she would be covering her eyes until the parts were over and Sweetie Belle agreed to let her do that.
Soon the movie started and as the movie went on Rarity couldn't believe what she was seeing. It was the most gruesome and violent movie she had ever seen. She almost got sick several times. It was horrible. They both sat in the movie theater appalled and disgusted as they watched the horrific images infold in front of them.
Rarity had no idea they would be showing the repression of the citizens during Tempest Shadow's takeover and she also had no idea they would show the entirety of King Sombra's rule and the cruel punishments that he gave to his citizens. They also showed the brutal fight between Twilight and Tirek.
They showed every single detail in graphic detail. She saw that some people actually left in the middle of the film. Sweetie Belle cried softly as she hid her face in Rarity's side when things got to gruesome as she hugged Rarity but sometimes she looked back at the screen and watched in horror at a few a couple of scenes that weren't as bad.
When the movie ended Sweetie Belle and Rarity both exited the theater as Sweetie Belle was visibly shaken from what she had seen. Rarity and Sweetie Belle went to a private spot and Rarity comforted Sweetie Belle as she hugged her.
"It was so terrible! All those poor people suffered! There was blood every where!" Sweetie Belle sobbed. Rarity hugged her sister as she cried.
"I'm so sorry Sweetie Belle. I had no idea how graphic the film was. I had no idea that they would show the King Sombra imprisoning and torturing people. I shouldn't have taken you to see that film you were way to young to see it." Rarity said softly.
Rarity held Sweetie Belle as she cried in her arms as the horrible images were now seared in her mind. She remembered everything from the film. The images would never go away. Sweetie Belle cried softly as she soaked Rarity's shirt with tears. Rarity petted her hair as she tried to calm her sister down. She then calmed down and then she spoke.
"From now on I'm going to have you wait till your older to let you see rated r films. You were way to young to see this and I couldn't realize that until after the fact. I'm sorry that you were traumatized." Rarity said as she comforted her sister. Her sister nodded.
They both went home and when they got home Rarity snuggled with Sweetie Belle until she calmed down. Sweetie Belle was still upset about what happened in the past that was showed in the movie so she assured Sweetie Belle that what happened would never happen again and if it did then Equestria would get through it united.
When Sweetie Belle stopped crying Rarity told Sweetie Belle a nice story that cheered her up and she also snuggled with her which also cheered Sweetie Belle up as well. Once Sweetie Belle cheered up she shocked Rarity by saying that even if it was a graphic film it was very well made and there were some parts which weren't graphic were some of her favorite parts and those included the rediscovery of the elements of harmony and Twilight Sparkle's coronation Rarity said that she agreed with her.
When Sweetie Belle grew to be an older teen she watched it a second time and liked it a lot more the second time around. She ended up buying it as she said that it showed the the truth about Equestria's history and it was very well made. Rarity decided to take Sweetie Belle up on her review and watch the movie again herself and she was surprised to say that the movie was now her all time favorite movie.
When Sweetie Belle grew up she saw more rated r films and she loved. Rarity was glad that Sweetie Belle was starting to like more rated r films. Sweetie Belle even bought some of her favorite rated r films. In the end she was grateful that Rarity took her to see Life In Equestria
