Warm sunlight and the distant rhythmic ‘bwang’-ing of steel drums slowly brings you from slumber. With a small groan, you stretch your legs and crane your neck, and you slowly realize that a warm body that was supposed to be beside you is surprisingly absent. As the fuzziness of your vision from sleep slowly edges away, you notice that the screen door is open and a slight breeze is trickling in, making the gossamer inner curtains by the open door flutter.
“You’re awake,” you hear her say as she gently walks into the hotel room from the balcony. The sight of her warms your heart (and other parts of your body) immediately. Her regal purple hair, normally expertly coiffed and curled, is slightly tousled, and there are one or two tiny bags under her eyes from lack of sleep.
“Did you sleep well?” she asks as she smiles warmly, leaning forward on the bed and giving you a light kiss. You gently snake a foreleg around her neck and deepen the kiss, and she replies with a moan and a giggle as she reciprocates.
“Last night was...” she begins to murmur, a light blush brightening her cheeks. “...It was magical. It was nothing like I’d ever dreamed of.”
“Really?” you ask, your voice nothing more than a heavy whisper.
She nods. “I’ll admit, darling, that I’ve had a lover or two before you, but...” She kisses you again and brushes your cheek with her hoof. “...I think being properly courted, being proposed to, and getting married add to the whole experience.”
“Does that mean that we're going to have to have a wedding every time we want to have a night of mind-blowing sex?” you ask with a chuckle.
She playfully swats at your chest. “That’s mean, my dear, and you know it.” She smiles, putting the lie to the offended tone of her voice. “Although, you do make the bits to do so, and I do love a wedding...”
You kiss her cheek. “But then you have all the planning, the invitations, making the dress...”
She snorts. “Pinkie Pie can deal with the planning and the invitations and such. The dress...” She looks over to the marequin at the far corner of your hotel room, the elegant dress she wore at the wedding placed on it. “I’d love to wear it again,” she says wistfully.
You clear your throat. “You know, Rarity, if you want to...”
“Hmm...?” She turns to you. “If I want to what, darling?”
“We could do it again, if you like...”
Her eyes widen in realization. “Oh...? Oh!” She blushes. “But my hair is all unruly! My makeup...”
You lean over and kiss her. “We can get freshened up and then I can carry you over the threshold again.”
“Really? You’d do that for me?”
You smile. “In a heartbeat.”
The next half-hour is a flurry of activity, with you and Rarity first sharing a teasingly platonic shower, and you getting dressed as she’s reapplying her make-up. You use your magic to slip into your tuxedo, a black jacket with a deep purple vest. A top hat and cuff-links designed with light-blue diamonds complete the ensemble.
“Darling, can I ask you to wait on the balcony?” she asks as she pokes her head out from behind the bathroom door. “When I’m out in the hall, I’ll call you.”
You nod and step onto the balcony, looking out at the sandy island of Summerset Keys. Even in midmorning, there are many ponies on the beach lounging in the sun or playing all sorts of games like Volleyball or Ultimate. You can hear the rhythmic ‘bwang-bwang’-ing of the steel drums, though along with it you can hear an easy-going reggae beat. You find yourself bobbing your head lightly to the music, almost getting lost in it.
“Darling? I’m out in the hall,” you hear her call out.
You force yourself to keep composure as you take a deep breath and walk through your hotel room to the door leading into the hall. As you open it an step out, your breath is driven away by the sight.
A thin chain of tiny diamonds is draped lightly over her head in Coltcutta fashion, twirled once around the base of her horn. A gossamer veil, already flipped back, covers her mane. Her dress is alabaster white with tiny accents of deep purple, and a white bracelet decorated with sky-blue diamonds is on her right fetlock. Her wedding ring, a band of white gold studded with blue diamonds, is on the base of her horn just over where the thin chain loops. Your jaw drops in shock, and she giggles in reply.
“You’re beautiful,” you say breathlessly.
“You flatter me, darling,” she says with an excited giggle. You lower your body to the floor as she lays across your back. As you get up, you look at her with a loving expression, and she returns it as you magick the door open and carefully cross the threshold with her in tow.
Like a repeat of the night before, you carry her to the bed and lower yourself on the floor as she steps off you and gingerly takes off her wedding dress and jewelry (save her ring) with her magic, levitating it onto the marequin as you slip out of your tuxedo and top hat. Slowly, you slide into bed beside her.
“Thank you,” she whispers as she kisses you. “Can we continue repeating what happened last night...?”
“With pleasure,” you say as you lean over her and kiss her deeply...
