"I'm worried about Twilight's safety," Pinkie stated suddenly, breaking the peaceful silence the young couple was sharing. Rainbow Dash looked down at the mare in her lap with confusion.

"Why is that?" Rainbow asked,"She's capable of caring for herself and her family. She has her magic and...reasoning," The pegasus finished her sentence with a hint of confusion.

"Yeah I know, but what if her magic was taken away from her? She has a lot of enemies you know."

"We all do, Pinks," Rainbow deadpanned, rolling her eyes,"What's your point?"

"I say we show her how vulnerable she really is, and kidnap her!" Rainbow's mouth dropped, and she leaped to her hooves.

"WHAT?!"

"Come on Dashie! It's not like we'll hurt her or anything. We'll just hold her somewhere for a few hours, and then let her wife rescue her! Plus, it'll be a really good prank!" Rainbow cracked a small smile.

"Ohh! I see what's going on! You just really want to prank Twilight, so you came up with this lame excuse for why you should do it."

"Well...maybe! I really do believe that stuff I said too though. So it can be a..." Pinkie paused for a moment to think about what to call her scheme,"Oh! It can be a prank with benefits!" Rainbow laughed at this.

"Okay Pinkie, sure, let's go with that," Rainbow paused for a second before continuing,"What's the plan?" Pinkie's smile grew.

"You mean you'll do it?!"

"Well you'll just bug me nonstop until I agree to do it, plus I live with you so I would just wind up agreeing sooner or later. I do love a good prank too!" Rainbow replied, a smirk forming on her face. Pinkie chuckled.

"That's true! Okay, so first we need to gather some supplies!"

"Twilight?" A familiar voice called into the library.

"Over here Sweetheart!" The alicorn called back from the fireplace where the princess0 was reading on the sofa,"What's up Flutters?" She asked, closing her book, which was titled,'The Stars & Constellations,' and gave her wife a curious smile.

"I was wondering if you maybe wanted to go for a walk in the park? Maybe have a picnic?" Twilight smiled at the request.

"Sure," She replied with a nod,"It'll be a nice date, and a chance to get Spike out of the castle," After marrying, Twilight and Fluttershy had adopted Spike, feeling that he deserved to have an official family, even though they treated him like their child before the adoption.

"Great! I'll go get things ready, and we can leave in an hour," Twilight smiled and kissed Fluttershy's cheek.

"Sound's perfect, Sweetie. I love you."

"Love you too!" Just as Fluttershy left the room, another familiar mare bounced in.

"Hey, Twilight!" Pinkie called as she walked up to her alicorn friend, a bounce in every step,"Whatcha up too?"

"Getting ready for a little family picnic with my wife and son..." Twilight replied as she stood to her hooves and used her magic to put her book back in its rightful place on the shelf,"What about you?"

"Well, Dashie and I wanted to plan a double date with you two! Are you doing anything between now and tomorrow afternoon?" Twilight thought for a moment before responding.

"Yeah, I think we're free. That sounds like fun! We aren't doing anything tonight or tomorrow as far as I know. What time should we be ready?"

"Around noon."

"Sounds great! See you then!"

"Okie dokie lokie! Bye Twilight!" Pinkie called as she bounced from the castle.

Pinkie walked into the home she shared with Rainbow Dash and went to her bedroom to see her marefriend sitting on the bed, along duffle bag beside her,"Hey Dashie! I'm back! Did you get the stuff?"

"I think I got everything. Read me the checklist again."

"Okie dokie!" Pinkie exclaimed as she pulled a scroll from her mane,"Magic-stalling ring?"

"Check."

"Ropes?"

"Check."

"Roll of duct tape?"

"Check."

"Bandana?"

"Check."

"Last but not least, chloroform?"

"Check," Rainbow finished as she zipped the bag closed,"So what is the chloroform for again?"

"To keep Fluttershy from waking up of course!"

"Why not just use it on Twilight? It'll make things much easier."

"Well, we want to give her a little chance to overtake us!" Pinkie replied, rolling her eyes as if the answer was obvious.

"Of course...So will she be home tonight?" Rainbow asked.

"Yep! I didn't want to seem suspicious, so I told her we were planning a double date with them."

"Wow Pinks," Rainbow said as the two laughed, and began to plan how they were going to get Twilight out of the castle undetected.

Twilight smiled as she watched Spike running around ahead of her and Fluttershy, exploring the nature path they were walking down,"This was a great idea, Fluttershy," Twilight complimented as she draped her wing across her wife's back.

"Thanks, Twily. I thought we needed to get out of the castle for a while."

"Agreed, we've been in that castle for too long. We also needed a little date," Twilight added with a smile as she nuzzled her wife's cheek, making the pegasus blush with a small smile.

"Hey, don't be getting all mushy back there!" Spike called as he gave his adopted parents a glare, making the two mares chuckle lightly.

"How about we go have that picnic now?" Fluttershy suggested, and the others agreed with a smile.

The sun had practically set by the time the small family returned to the castle,"Goodness it's getting late. Little dragons should take a bath and get to bed," Fluttershy said with a caring smile, making Spike roll his eyes.

"Fine, love you guys! Goodnight!" Spike replied as he gave the two mares a hug.

"Night, Spike," The two replied together as they each gave the dragon a kiss on the cheek, before watching him race down the hall toward the bathroom.

"Why don't we go take a bath before we hit the hay ourselves?" Twilight asked, making Fluttershy blush, but nod.

The moon rested high above Ponyville, and everypony was asleep, well except for the mysterious young couple lurking in the shadows,"Okay, we're almost there," Pinkie whispered as the Castle of Friendship came into view. Rainbow took a deep breath. She was excited to pull off the prank, but she hoped that their actions wouldn't have too serious of consequences. Meanwhile, Pinkie seemed completely focused, and yet she still held the same cheerful smile on her face as they approached the castle doors,"Wow..." Pinkie deadpanned as she easily opened the front doors," She doesn't even lock her doors. See what I'm talking about?" Rainbow rolled her eyes.

"Yeah yeah...let's just get this over with."

The two snuck into the castle and crept through the hallways toward their target's bedroom. Rainbow had the ring, rope, and duct tape in her hooves and under her wings, while Pinkie held the bandana, a cloth, and the bottle of chloroform in her hooves,"Okay...once I make sure Fluttershy's out, I'm gonna blindfold Twilight, then you tie her up, and we are out of there." Pinkie instructed, and Rainbow nodded as they approached the bedroom. They heard soft snoring inside. Silently, Pinkie slipped into the room and poured a bit of the chloroform onto the cloth and approached the bedside, and pressed the wet cloth against Fluttershy's mouth and nose, forcing the pegasus to breathe in the toxic fumes. After a few moments of the cloth being pressed against her muzzle, Pinkie pulled the cloth away and set it on the bedside table. She then silently traveled around the bedside and tied the blindfold tightly around Twilight's eyes, while Rainbow simultaneously slid the ring down onto Twilight's horn. Rainbow then took the ropes out from under her wing, while Pinkie turned Twilight onto her back. Twilight stirred.

"Ugh...what?"

Biting her lip and acting fast, Pinkie grabbed Twilight's front hooves and held them behind her, while Rainbow tied them there. Twilight gasped,"H-Hello? What are you-" Twilight's words were cut off as the tape was placed across her mouth. She tried to scream, though they were muffled. Rainbow noticed she seemed to be trying to call Fluttershy. Pinkie on the other hoof continued to work, restraining Twilight's wings against her body, and bound her back hooves together, all through Twilight's struggling. Rainbow lifted Twilight into her hooves, and the two raced from the castle, and under the shadows, snuck their captive into the Everfree Forest.

Twilight was terrified. One moment she was curled up in bed with her loving wife, the next she was bound, gagged, blindfolded, and stripped of her magic. Who had taken her? What did they want with her? Was she going to die? These were the questions that were flowing through her mind. The ride with her captors wasn't too long, and she soon found herself sitting in a chair,"Mhhmm mh?" Twilight tried asking who had her, but her words came out muffled and jumbled together because of the tape covering her mouth.

"What did she say?" A familiar raspy voice asked.

"I don't know, let's find out!" A high-pitched, but still familiar voice, responded. A few seconds later the tape was ripped from her muzzle, making the princess gasp slightly in pain.

"Wh-who are you?!" Twilight breathed, fear holding her voice,"What do you want from me!?"

"Ransom," The high-pitched voice stated simply. Tears were now leaking from under the bandana covering the alicorn's eyes.

"H-How much...?" Twilight was visibly shaking.

"To increase your castle's security!" The two voices shouted together.

"W...What?" The lavender mare was confused now. Why would her captors want her to make it harder for her to be kidnapped? She let out a small shriek as the blindfold was pulled from her face. She gasped,"R-Rainbow Dash?! Pinkie Pie?!" Tears began rolling down her cheeks again,"Why would you do this?!"

"Duh! It was mainly a prank, but we also wanted to show you how vulnerable you were in your castle! I mean, what if something like this really happened?!" Pinkie asked, making Twilight look down.

"I...I guess you're right...I'll definitely be getting some guards or something now. Can you please let me go so I can go home?"

"No!" Pinkie laughed, and Twilight's eyes dilated.

"W-Why?"

"Because," Rainbow chimed in,"Fluttershy has to save you! Which will be when the sun comes up in about three hours."

"Then can you at least untie me? I'm still really....terrified..." Twilight whispered the last part.

"Nope, it's more fun keeping you tied up!" Pinkie laughed, and Rainbow giggled,"Now the next thing you see will be your wife!"

"W-what!?" Twilight then screamed as the blindfold was tied back around her eyes.

"Are you sure it was okay to leave Twilight in that creepy castle alone?" Rainbow asked as she and Pinkie walked along the road of the Everfree Forest toward the Castle of Friendship. The sun was just starting to rise.

"Of course it is! Nopony knows she's missing, and as long as she stays quiet like we told her too." Pinkie replied with a giggle.

"Okay...I just worry a little, but you're right. Let's just hurry before Fluttershy wakes up and goes to authorities."

"She won't."

"How do you know?"

"I just do."

"Okay..." Rainbow was slightly confused, and a little scared, but she trusted her marefriend, mostly anyway.

Meanwhile, Twilight was too terrified to speak, she wished her friends would have at least set her free. She would have happily stayed put if she had any actual defense; but no, her friends had just left her there, tied up, blindfolded, and magicless. Suddenly, she heard hoofsteps coming toward her. She gasped,"Fluttershy? Is that you?!" When no response came, her heart began to race,"F-Fluttershy? Is that- Mhmm!" She tried to scream as tape was placed across her mouth. What was going on?

"I have to say, princess," a male voice said, making Twilight start to hyperventilate, this wasn't Fluttershy, this was a real kidnapping,"Your so-called-friends did most of my work for me, so I must thank them later. Anyway, I can finally get rid of you for leaving me. Why don't we head to my place and slowly, take you out of the picture." Leaving him? Take her out of the picture? This colt was going to kill her! Twilight's eyes widened as she made a realization, this was her ex-coltfriend, Flash Sentry! Twilight began to struggle as she was lifted out of the chair and onto the pegasi's back.

"Mhh! Hmph!!!" She tried to scream, though her attempts were fruitless. She could only cry as she was taken from the Castle of the Two Sisters.

Fluttershy yawned as she stretched her muscles,"Morning Twily..." When no response came, confusion overtook the pegasus, and she looked over to her wife's side of the bed, only to find a note,"Huh?" Picking up the note with her hoof, she read it over silently.

We have your precious princess! Want her back? You have to...increase your castle' security! See how vulnerable you guys are? Haha! We got her out so easily! Anyway, we have her in the Castle of the Two Sisters! We're on our way now, so stay there, and we are on our way!

Fluttershy rolled her eyes,"I'm gonna kill them..."

"Please don't!" Pinkie laughed as she and Rainbow Dash entered the bedroom, Spike following suit.

"Yeah, we might need them to get mom back," Spike replied, looking sheepish. Fluttershy smiled.

"Fine, but let's go. Twilight has Separation Anxiety Disorder and extreme paranoia."

"Wait... what?!" Rainbow exclaimed,"Isn't that the fear of...being kidnapped?"

"Yes!" Fluttershy yelled.

"Oh crap! Let's go!" Fluttershy placed Spike on her back, and Pinkie hopped on Rainbow's back, and the two pegasi took off toward the castle in the forest.

"Stop!!!" Twilight screamed. Flash had tied Twilight to the bed but left her blindfolded. He was holding a whip in one hoof, and a knife under his wing. He smirked as he cracked the whip again, it lashed Twilight's stomach, causing her to release a bloodcurdling scream,"Please stop!" The lavender mare was crying, her blindfold was soaking wet where her eyes were.

"Hmm, no," He replied as he lashed her cheek with the whip. Blood seeped from the gash, running down her face and mixing with her tears,"How about we play with this knife here?"

"NO!" She cried,"Please! Somepony help me!" She cried, only for Flash to stab her back right hoof with the knife, causing her to scream again,"What did I do to you!?"

"You left me for that pathetic little pegasus!" He screamed as he twisted the knife in her leg, before pulling it out and doing the same thing to her other back leg. The alicorn screamed in pain. For the first time in her life, she wished she were dead. She wanted to kill herself.

"Please...just kill me..." She pleaded.

"Now? But we're only getting started!" He laughed as he yanked the knife out and gently ran it down her chest. Twilight shuddered.

"Where is she!?!" Fluttershy screamed, staring deep into her friend's eyes.

"I swear she was right here Flutters! I don't know where she could have gone! She was tied to the chair!" Rainbow explained, desperate. Meanwhile, Pinkie was looking around the room for clues.

"Well whoever has her now, obviously saw us take her, and wants to hurt her. However, all villains leave clues, whether they realize it or not! We just gotta find them!" Pinkie added as she sniffed around like a dog looking for its toys.

"I hope we find her soon..." Spike whimpered, he had tears stained to his cheeks, and Fluttershy's wing was draped across his back.

"We will sweetie. I promise." Fluttershy said and gave her adopted son a kiss on the cheek.

"O-Okay..."

"I found something~" Pinkie sang as she bounced over to her friends, holding something in her hoof,"Who do we know that has blue hair?"

After a moment of thinking, Fluttershy gasped,"Flash Sentry!" Spike's eyes widened.

"You don't think he would go that far, do you? I know he was mad after she left him...but..." Tears welled up in the dragon's eyes.

"Honestly, I think he would. Remember how often he came to the castle when we were just dating?"

"Well let's not just stand here! Let's go get our friend back!" Rainbow growled, anger in her eyes.

"Wait! Where would he have taken her?!" Pinkie asked, worry in her eyes.

"Maybe his place? He lives in a two-story house down the street from my old cottage." Fluttershy suggested, and the others nodded before racing from the castle to save their friend.

Twilight cried out in pure agony as the knife penetrated her stomach and was left there,"You know Twilight. This has been fun, but I think I'm about done." Twilight was barely breathing, and she was covered in blood. Her fur was no longer purple, but rather crimson.

"H...e...lp...me.." Twilight whispered, her voice cracking, almost gone.

"You're pathetic Twilight, how'd I ever love you?" He said as he picked up another knife and positioned it at her neck, and Twilight squeezed her eyes closed, waiting for it to end. Some part of her was happy, while the other was sad that she would never see her wife or son again. Just as the knife was about to slit her throat, the door was thrown open.

"LET HER GO YOU MONSTER!!!" A familiar voice called, it sounded like Fluttershy. However, she sounded angry. No, not angry. Furious. Twilight heard Flash scream a few times before he went silent. The alicorn was breathing deeply, and she flinched when a hoof touched her stomach.

"No! Please don... hurt... again!" She screamed, her voice cracking as she spoke. She began shaking as she felt the ropes cut from her hooves, and two hooves reach around her head, as the blindfold was pulled from her eyes. After the brightness of the lights around her went away, she saw a concerned buttermilk pegasus staring down at her,"F...Flutter...shy...?"

"Shh...it's okay baby...We're gonna get you to the hospital. Just stay calm."

"Don't...don't die, momma..." Spike whimpered, tears were staining his cheeks. Twilight gave him a thin smile.

"I'll be okay...S...Spike..." Twilight slowly began to close her eyes. Bloodloss taking its toll.

"Come on Rainbow help me!" Fluttershy exclaimed, and the cyan pegasus rushed over, as the pegasi worked together to lift the princess from the bed.

Fluttershy held Spike in her hooves. The small dragon was crying into her shoulder. As soon as they got to the hospital, Twilight was rushed into surgery. While Fluttershy comforted Spike, Rainbow and Pinkie sat quietly, looking at the floor. This was their fault, and even though Fluttershy would never blame them, the guilt still weighed heavy on their conscience,"Guys, don't feel bad about this. You couldn't have known this was going to happen." Fluttershy said with a small smile.

"I just hope she's okay..." Pinkie sighed. She teared up slightly. Rainbow replied by draping a wing across her marefriend's back.

It had been three days since the surgery.Though the surgery had been a great success, the princess still hadn't woken up. Fluttershy and Spike slept on the couch in the room every night, and the other girls visited every day to check on the family.

"How is she doing?" Rarity asked as she entered the room with her fiance Applejack.

"Same as always," Fluttershy replied. She was sitting in a chair next to Twilight's bed, holding her hoof. Meanwhile, Spike was laying in the bed, curled up next to Twilight. He had been silent since his mother was taken into surgery.

"I hope she wakes up soon..." Rainbow Dash asked. She and Pinkie Pie were sitting by the bed as well, Pinkie in her lap.

"We all do, Sugarcube." Applejack replied as she and her fiance walked up to their friends and sat down.

Fluttershy sighed and looked at Spike,"Honey you should get off the bed for now." Spike didn't say anything, he only buried his face deeper into Twilight's side," Or not..."

Twilight suddenly stirred and released a small groan. Everyone gasped, and Spike sat up, his eyes wide," M...mom?" He whispered. Her eyes suddenly fluttered open, her breaths shaky.

"F...Fluttershy...? S-Spike...?" She whispered, and her wife and son smiled wide.

"Twilight!" They exclaimed together, before sharing a gentle group hug.

"You're okay!" Spike whimpered.

"Yeah...what happened? The last thing I remember was being- Oh..." Twilight's eyes filled with terror as the memories came flooding back to her.

"You're okay now Twily, he's in jail." Fluttershy encouraged, and Twilight nodded. She then examined herself.

"What are my injuries?" Everypony bit their lips at this.

"Your back legs are broken," Fluttershy said.

"You have two bruised ribs and a broken one," Spike added.

"Your collarbone is fractured," Rainbow deadpanned.

"You front left leg was so broken, they had to replace the bone with metal! So that leg is bones and skin!" Pinkie exclaimed.

"Your heart stopped twice in surgery. Luckily, they were able to pull you back," Rarity chimed in.

"That's about it, but ya have been in a coma fer three days," Applejack finished. Twilight teared up.

"Then how come I don't feel any pain?" She asked.

"You've been overloaded with medication," Spike replied, pointing to the IV in her arm and the oxygen mask over her muzzle.

"Oh..."

"Don't worry Twilight, we're all here for you, and we will get you through this." Fluttershy encouraged, before giving her wife a kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you..." The alicorn whispered tears in her eyes.

Twilight knew that it was going to be a long road to healing, but in the end, she was glad that she had a loving family, and amazing friends to get her through it.
