The sun glowed brightly on the lazy saturday afternoon, Fluttershy was sitting politely on the steps of Canterlot High with her friends Rainbow Dash and AJ waiting for their group to show up, for a nice trip to the mall.
Fluttershy softly held a small violet brush in her hand, stroking it through her long silken pink hair listening to Dashie talk. She felt so nice about herself, Rarity had recently styled her hair anew. Even adding a sweet scent to her hair, that wafted high into the sky elegantly by the name “Natures Delight.”.
“Anyway I watched Shimmer bend over during track the other day and what do I see? I see that she is wearing my missing pair of boy shorts, that just vanished from my locker last week.” Rainbow flaunted her slender hand to AJ in a catty fashion.
A small yellow bird gently fluttered down from the lovely blue sky, Fluttershy gave a small gasp taken back by its beauty. She held up her dainty hand as the cute bird landed right on her finger, she could only smile in delight feeling like a princess in a fairytale.
“Heehee! Look a bird landed on my hand.” Fluttershy broke the flow of conversation, as AJ glanced to the pink haired girl with a smile.
“Awww! That is so cute!” AJ giggled watching in awe as a second bird flew down and perched atop Fluttershy’s shoulder.
“Wow! They are nuzzling me!” Fluttershy gave a soft squee as three more flew down, quickly burrowing into her long wavy hair before poking out small yellow heads.
“Huh? Must be that fancy hair scent you’re using…” Dash gave a slight brow raise.
Fluttershy just gave a small coo to the birds, before seven quickly fluttered out of a nearby tree and landed across both shoulders.
“He...he...he. Um you birdies are kind of numerous.” Fluttershy gave a worried smile followed by a nervous giggle, six more birds swiftly flying out of the sky and latching into her hair.
“They’re nuzzling me back...ow...ow….OWWW! THEY’RE PECKING ME!” Fluttershy screamed aloud as she slung up, four more birds launching out of a tree as they bolted towards her.
“AHHHHH!” Fluttershy gave a loud scream for help, running off into the distance like a bolt of lightning.
Dash and AJ flashed each other a odd gaze, silence filling the air around them for a few seconds. The rainbow haired girl giving a small shrug and continuing on with her tale, as the sound of screaming faded into nothing.
“Anyway. I told Shimmer I know those were my shorts, they even had my initials on them. I just wanted to know why and how she took them…”
Fluttershy gave swift chase down the open track and field, her lungs burning deep within her chest as the sound of wicked chirping could be heard in the distance. The slender girl dashed across the paved track, jumping up onto the bleachers before smacking into Trixie.
“Ow! Watch It!” Trixie pouted as she gave an eye roll to the frightened girl.
“Trixie! Help me, baby birds are chasing me!” Fluttershy gave small gasps, trying to collect air into her lungs.
“Ha! You run from mere baby avions? Phst Trixie fears no children of the skies!” Trixie burst out into laughter as the loud chirping grew closer. Fluttershy giving a soft squeal before leaping off the edge of the bleachers, dashing off towards the school.
“Hahahaha! Baby birds...Hahaha..” Trixie gave a look in front of her, a large dark shadow of small birds rushing towards her as she sat.
“Haha...ha. Well Trixie is boned.” The girl gave a shrill scream, as the whole row of bleachers were engulfed into the fold.
Fluttershy ran to the back of the school her legs wobbling in place, she had never ran this much in her life. Her whole body felt like melting jello, she could barely lean against the nearby wall of the school, her energy spent.
“Whatcha running from?” The sweet voice of Derpy spoke up from her side, standing before the locked double doors of the school, holding a bag of muffins in her hand.
“Adorable blood thirsty chicks.” Fluttershy gave a small gasp, her lungs still burning from the run.
“I’ve been there. Just wave your hands at them and say “Shoo-birdie-shoo!”, they usually get the idea.” Derpy flashed a sweet smile as the loud chirping noises grew louder.
Fluttershy shivering in place slowly took a few steps forward, the sky above turning black with the force of nearly a hundred chicks. They seemed to hover in place within the sky, waiting for Fluttershy to make the first move.
“Um...uh...if you don’t mind...um...shoo...please?” Fluttershy gave a wince in place as the birds simply watched her carefully, before starting to dive at her in swift speeds she had never seen.
“No! It’s not working…” Fluttershy kneeled down hiding her face in fear, Derpy skipping over to the young girl being engulfed in baby birds.
“Like this silly...ahem.”
“SHE SAID SHOO YOU LITTLE FLYING BRATS!” Derpy screamed in anger, gone was her sweet voice replaced with dark red glowing eyes.
The birds bolted off in all directions, hearts filled with fear and terror. Fluttershy was shivering in place on the ground, frightened of the wicked voice she had just heard.
“Heehee. See you around Flutters.” Derpy gave a cute wink, petting the pink haired girl on the head before walking off.
“It’s over. It’s finally…” She gave a glance to the nearby trees, the tiny birds watching her in sadness and fright.
Fluttershy could feel her heart sinking within her chest, the poor little creatures filled with a sense of dread. Their eyes so large and broken, filled with sadness and a sense of not belonging.
Fluttershy slowly wiped a small tear from her eyes, flashing a small smile high into the trees. Her warmth and kindness flowing high into the air, her lovely voice soon echoing into the sky.
Rarity gave a cute little hum under her voice as she walked down the sidewalk, a adorable wiggle in her hips and a skip in her step. She had her eyes burning into a local fashion magazine, coming to meet Fluttershy at the school for nice check up on her hair.
“Tell me darling. How did you love the hair-ahhhh!” Rarity dropped the magazine from her hands, eyes wide in shock at the sight before her.
Fluttershy gave a cute giggle, dozens of birds sticking out of her hair happily as a few small nests were being built. Others clung to her shoulders and arms, each chirping a lovely song.
“I loved it. People have been “Chicking” me out all day.”
