My hands dug into the side of the ledge as I hoisted myself up. I could feel little rocks just beneath my hiking boots scrape off and break into dust at my crunching on them but I didn't care. I was going to climb this mountain.
And scream.
And shout.
I continued on my steady climb, inching nearer and nearer to the top. It was this same mountain years ago as a ten year old that I had hid in the cave with someone who shouldn't have been in this world.
A pony... or more specifically a cartoon pegasus.

How she had saved my life... because I had saved hers.
But it was also at that age that I had seen her disappear forever from my eyes. As after we had killed my grandmother, and she had took me for our last flight... she had disappeared.
Or more left.
Forever.
At least, that's how it felt all the years afterwards, as I had never seen her again since that date.
And I wanted to... I wanted to find her.
For my life hadn't turned out like a fairy tale, if you really want to know. It turned into a living hell.
I had been diagnosed with psychosis as a teenager, and I was on tablets because of it. My father couldn't cope with both the loss of my mother and my mental breakdowns, so when I said I was going back to the woods, to Granny's old house, he didn't have a choice.
Or else, he knew deep down what he wanted his choice to be.
To let me go.
To get rid of... me.
I was alone in this world, I had become a recluse. The only friends I had were the voices in my head, and no one believed me because of that, of the pony. But I didn't need them to agree. I knew Rainbow was real. That she was out there just waiting to be found again. By me.
I was the only person she trusted, and deep down, she was the only one I trusted too.
I finally reached the top of the rocky mountain and peered down at the large forest basin that was in the valleys below. I looked at the clear blue sky, at the bright sun... at my hope that I would one day see her in it all again.
And I screamed.
"RAINBOW DASH!"
My call echoed all around the mountains, bouncing off the walls and coming back to me in weak broken words.
The brokenness just reflected to me the way people now saw me. Broken... ruined goods. Not fit for this world... not fit to even live.
But I was worth something... I knew I had some value.
I had seen horrors at such a young age... I had done horrors as a ten year old. I had been the one to kill her... granny.
And something in me... still sensed she was out there.
Knew... she was also still alive.
Because the house's lights had been flicking on and off the last couple of weeks since I had moved in.
And the radio... I swear I heard her voice crackle through it. Just once.
Whispering the words in spite.
I'll get you, Anna...
I was afraid, as it had come through so clearly, that I had destroyed the radio on the spot, terrified.
She had been made of electricity, and that's where she now lie... in the very fabrics of electricity in the wires that dispersed all around the country.
But she had always been cunning... waiting, waiting for a way to escape. But she never could.
I knew she couldn't. She couldn't!
At least, I hoped...
There was no more of those special TVs left that my grandfather had invented that she could escape into... there was no way she could get back into this physical reality.
I hoped... but the idea scared me... it terrified me to my core.
"RAINBOW!" I screamed, tears rising to my eyes as I begged her to come and hear my call. I needed her to find me, save me and love me again.
Like a sister, a mother, a friend.
For she was all those things to me. The only one left that could fill that void.
I looked onward to the quiet forest, and just closed my eyes. I took two steps across the ledge of the mountain's top.
And just jumped.
I was high in the air, about to plummet back to the dense forest below. But I wasn't scared.
I was sad. I was angry... and I just wanted to give a signal... to make her know that it was me.
I began to spark like a firework, electricity pouring out of me and I suddenly floated there, captured in blinding yellow light of sparks of fire like power.
I looked across the forest, before shooting forth sparks from my hands behind me, and shot forward by the push of the strikes I had made.
I looked around the valley, high above it now and just roared in tears.
"RAINBOW!"
Just to hear her voice call back, that's all I wanted... that's all I needed to keep going... to live on in this world... but that's not what I heard.
"OH MY GOD!"
I turned around in a flash, seeing just on a ledge of the mountain... a young man.
And in his hand... was a camera phone.
I froze stiff.
H-how? How could I be so stupid?!
I suddenly roared in fury, and began approaching him quickly, lightning ramming me forward.
He freaked and quickly stumbled to put his phone away, but I let out a zap, hitting it from his hand and it fried from the electricity.
He panicked, pressing against the mountain's rocky side, and held up his hands as I was only feet away from him and he begged.
"P-please! PLEASE! I won't tell anyone! PLEASE DON'T KILL ME! PLEASE!"
"YOU SWEAR?!" I roared at him, zapping lightning on both sides next to him and cracking the mountain's rocks by the strikes.
"You called her name!" He suddenly said, looking at me in terror and I looked at him confused. But I suddenly realized who he meant.
"Rainbow," I gasped and he nodded his head. He continued on scared.
"Rainbow Dash... the pegasus from My Little Pony? Right?"
I nodded my head slowly and he let out a sigh of relief as he said to me, smiling widely.
"I've... I've seen that feisty pony. I've seen her once or twice in the sky... I've come to try to make contact."
My breath was nearly lost in amazement at the proclamation. I said, tears nearly coming down my eyes...
"You've seen her? Really?"
He nodded his head, smiling a warm affirmative beam, and I asked, so afraid.
"Who are you?"
He just chuckled and looked at me wisely, as he proclaimed with all his might.
"I, my fair lady, am a brony."
Author's Note
Decided to write a sequel, because why not?
I liked the first story enough to want to continue it, and this is kinda what I had in my head for how it should carry on.
The only thing different with this story than the last is that the chapters will be shorter and more concise.
