Rule One: Don't Be Seen

The sun rises to show another sunny day on the outskirts of Ponyville. There are wild life everywhere. Bees are buzzing along to collect pollen for their hive and Queen. The stream was gently flowing down the little stream. Birds were singing! It was unlike anything you have ever seen and it is so....BORING.

"BORED!" I said on top of a little cottage right next to the stream.

"Magenta, dear why don't you just go for a fly?" another voice said.

Magenta that would be me. My name is Magenta Burst. I am a young pegasus with the heart for adventure, but an attention span smaller than a baby pegasus's feather. A little more info about me would be that I live on the outskirts of Ponyville, if you didn't know that already, and I live in a cottage with my mother and father. My mother, Party Popper, is the one that just called me right now and she's a reddish-purple colored earth pony with a dark purple mane. Her cutie mark is a party popper and all I really know is that she's from Las Pegasus. We don't talk about the past that much since it seems to upset her. On the other hoof, my father, who is currently at work at the moment, is named Turbo Breeze. True to his name, my father is an aerodynamic flyer racer. He's all speed and super competitive. He may seem all high and mighty, but in all honesty he loves his family and is super protective of them...especially me. Then there was one and it's me. Besides what i explained. My cutie mark is a firework bursting. My father said it was because I had an explosive personality, but in reality I have a mix of both parents. One can't so no to parties and one can't say no to racing. I like to think I have the best of both worlds...even though I feel like something may be missing from this little circle of mine.

"I've done that about sixteen times...in a row." I deadpanned.

"We could dance around, make a cake, ACTUALLY do your chores." Party Popper said slightly teasing.

"You know what, that fly sounds good right about now." I said lifting off the ground.

"Wait." she said stopping me. "'Gents, since you are going to fly, you know the rules, correct?"

I roll my eyes and face her.

"I promise not to go near Ponyville, or be seen, no matter how much I want to or think it's stupid that I can't." I said.

"Magenta, this is serious." she said sternly.

I just flew there, silent. This was always a topic my mother just looked so....depleted on.

"Honey, it's just...it's for the best." Party sadly explained. "Won't you do this one thing for you mom, please."

"Okay I will stay out of Ponyville." I said.

"Good, now go have fun." she said with a thousand watt smile.

I smile and shoot off into the forest close by our cottage. Ducking and weaving above and bellow the branches until I make it to the other side.

"I can see Ponyville from here." I say looking down the long path to the little town.

I slowly start to move, but stop myself.

"No, I promised my mom." I sighed sitting down on a rock by the path.

As I sat there, I didn't really notice my surroundings. So, I really didn't THINK someone might take this path to this well known town.

"Hello." something, or someone, said popping up in front of me.

"AH!" I said falling behind the rock.

"Oopsy, sorry about that." the voice said. "Hey I haven't seen you before."

The voice suddenly gasped.

"YOU'RE NEW TO PONYVILLE!" the voice, a mare's, said. "This is awesome, you could come back with me, meet ALL my friends in Ponyville, then have a 'Welcome to Ponyville' party like I did years ago with my other friend, and you will totally be like SURPRISED!"

There was a pause.

"Well maybe if you forget that last part you will be." she said.

I hid behind the rock, not only because the fact that this pony just came out of no where, but the fact that I just broke one of my mom's rules.

"My mom is going to kill me." I silently said to myself.

"Helloooo!" she said peaking over the rock. "Say what's your name anyway."

"Oh, um sorry, I have to go now!" I said quickly, flying away through the forest.

"HEY WAIT!" she said.

I flew quickly taking the path I memorized to go back near where my cottage is located. Once I had gotten there I relaxed.

"There is no way she could have followed me." I said grinning.

That was until I turned around and she was right there.

"AH!" I screamed once again surprised.

"You never told me your name." she said.

"How did you...then here...then there...and I was so much faster than you." I said confused.

She just smiled.

"Look, even if I am impressed, I don't think you need to know me okay." I explained pointing to the forest. "It's best if you just left."

"Oh." she depleted.

"She looks just like my mom doing that." I thought.

"You just looked so lonely, I didn't mean to bother you." the mare said slowly walking off. "If you want, I'll just go."

"...Wait, fine I was a little lonely." I said.

"Well, there's no need to fear because Pinkie Pie is here." she, Pinkie Pie, said.

"Pinkie Pie, huh?" I asked as she nodded her head excitedly.

"Yes indeedy." she proclaimed. "What is your name?"

"Okay, promise me you won't tell anyone else about me though?" I said.

"Cross my heart and hope to fly or stick a cupcake in my eye." she said also crossing her heart with her hoof and putting it up to her eye.

"What was-never mind." I said holding up my hooves. "Anyway, I am Magenta Burst."

"Ooooo colorful name." she said.

"Well it sure doesn't beat Pinkie Pie." I grinned.

"Well, now that I know your name." she started. "Why don't you tell me all about you?"

"You sure, it's kinda a long story." I explained.

Pinkie Pie pulled out a giant tub of popcorn out of her hair.

"I've got all day." she said munching on popcorn.

I smiled.

Something told me this was going to be a blossoming friendship.
