//-------------------------------------------------------// Bursting with Energy -by MagentaBurst- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Rule One: Don't Be Seen //-------------------------------------------------------// Rule One: Don't Be Seen The sun rises to show another sunny day on the outskirts of Ponyville. There are wild life everywhere. Bees are buzzing along to collect pollen for their hive and Queen. The stream was gently flowing down the little stream. Birds were singing! It was unlike anything you have ever seen and it is so....BORING. "BORED!" I said on top of a little cottage right next to the stream. "Magenta, dear why don't you just go for a fly?" another voice said. Magenta that would be me. My name is Magenta Burst. I am a young pegasus with the heart for adventure, but an attention span smaller than a baby pegasus's feather. A little more info about me would be that I live on the outskirts of Ponyville, if you didn't know that already, and I live in a cottage with my mother and father. My mother, Party Popper, is the one that just called me right now and she's a reddish-purple colored earth pony with a dark purple mane. Her cutie mark is a party popper and all I really know is that she's from Las Pegasus. We don't talk about the past that much since it seems to upset her. On the other hoof, my father, who is currently at work at the moment, is named Turbo Breeze. True to his name, my father is an aerodynamic flyer racer. He's all speed and super competitive. He may seem all high and mighty, but in all honesty he loves his family and is super protective of them...especially me. Then there was one and it's me. Besides what i explained. My cutie mark is a firework bursting. My father said it was because I had an explosive personality, but in reality I have a mix of both parents. One can't so no to parties and one can't say no to racing. I like to think I have the best of both worlds...even though I feel like something may be missing from this little circle of mine. "I've done that about sixteen times...in a row." I deadpanned. "We could dance around, make a cake, ACTUALLY do your chores." Party Popper said slightly teasing. "You know what, that fly sounds good right about now." I said lifting off the ground. "Wait." she said stopping me. "'Gents, since you are going to fly, you know the rules, correct?" I roll my eyes and face her. "I promise not to go near Ponyville, or be seen, no matter how much I want to or think it's stupid that I can't." I said. "Magenta, this is serious." she said sternly. I just flew there, silent. This was always a topic my mother just looked so....depleted on. "Honey, it's just...it's for the best." Party sadly explained. "Won't you do this one thing for you mom, please." "Okay I will stay out of Ponyville." I said. "Good, now go have fun." she said with a thousand watt smile. I smile and shoot off into the forest close by our cottage. Ducking and weaving above and bellow the branches until I make it to the other side. "I can see Ponyville from here." I say looking down the long path to the little town. I slowly start to move, but stop myself. "No, I promised my mom." I sighed sitting down on a rock by the path. As I sat there, I didn't really notice my surroundings. So, I really didn't THINK someone might take this path to this well known town. "Hello." something, or someone, said popping up in front of me. "AH!" I said falling behind the rock. "Oopsy, sorry about that." the voice said. "Hey I haven't seen you before." The voice suddenly gasped. "YOU'RE NEW TO PONYVILLE!" the voice, a mare's, said. "This is awesome, you could come back with me, meet ALL my friends in Ponyville, then have a 'Welcome to Ponyville' party like I did years ago with my other friend, and you will totally be like SURPRISED!" There was a pause. "Well maybe if you forget that last part you will be." she said. I hid behind the rock, not only because the fact that this pony just came out of no where, but the fact that I just broke one of my mom's rules. "My mom is going to kill me." I silently said to myself. "Helloooo!" she said peaking over the rock. "Say what's your name anyway." "Oh, um sorry, I have to go now!" I said quickly, flying away through the forest. "HEY WAIT!" she said. I flew quickly taking the path I memorized to go back near where my cottage is located. Once I had gotten there I relaxed. "There is no way she could have followed me." I said grinning. That was until I turned around and she was right there. "AH!" I screamed once again surprised. "You never told me your name." she said. "How did you...then here...then there...and I was so much faster than you." I said confused. She just smiled. "Look, even if I am impressed, I don't think you need to know me okay." I explained pointing to the forest. "It's best if you just left." "Oh." she depleted. "She looks just like my mom doing that." I thought. "You just looked so lonely, I didn't mean to bother you." the mare said slowly walking off. "If you want, I'll just go." "...Wait, fine I was a little lonely." I said. "Well, there's no need to fear because Pinkie Pie is here." she, Pinkie Pie, said. "Pinkie Pie, huh?" I asked as she nodded her head excitedly. "Yes indeedy." she proclaimed. "What is your name?" "Okay, promise me you won't tell anyone else about me though?" I said. "Cross my heart and hope to fly or stick a cupcake in my eye." she said also crossing her heart with her hoof and putting it up to her eye. "What was-never mind." I said holding up my hooves. "Anyway, I am Magenta Burst." "Ooooo colorful name." she said. "Well it sure doesn't beat Pinkie Pie." I grinned. "Well, now that I know your name." she started. "Why don't you tell me all about you?" "You sure, it's kinda a long story." I explained. Pinkie Pie pulled out a giant tub of popcorn out of her hair. "I've got all day." she said munching on popcorn. I smiled. Something told me this was going to be a blossoming friendship. //-------------------------------------------------------// Rule Two: Do Not Tell Others About Us //-------------------------------------------------------// Rule Two: Do Not Tell Others About Us Pinkie Pie and Magenta sat in a field next to the stream not far away from her house, but far enough not to be seen. "So maybe I should begin as far back as I can remember." I started. "When I was young, my mother and father lived far away from other people because as they told me "the outside world would never understand us". I remember being really young and sneaking away from this place and finding another pony to talk to, but later on I got caught and I was told that I could never see her again. It's been years since that happened and ever since the rules where instated to me." "Rules?" Pinkie asked. "Yeah, there are three rules that I must follow at all cost. The first rule was not to be seen, but as you can see..." I said grinning at Pinkie. "OH, so that's why you hid away from me." Pinkie said realizing why I hid. "Exactly!" I exclaimed cheerfully. "The second rule, was to never tell people where I came from or who my parent's were." "Well I know where you are from, but why not tell who your parent's are?" she asked. "I'm not sure about that either Pinkie." I said tapping my chin. "It had some reason though. Also, the third rule was to never, NEVER go into Ponyville." "What, but why?" she asked. "Like I said before Pinks, I have no idea." I said sighing. "I've wanted a friends forever, believe me, but I was given strict rules not to interact with anyone." "So, if they catch you talking to me?" she asked. "Oh, I don't know." I explained. "My mother would probably lock me away or worse we would move away." Pinkie gasped and held my hooves. "Well, as your first official best friend forever and ever, I will never let that happen." she said determindedly. "I Pinkie Promise, cross my heart and hope to fly or stick a cupcake in my eye." Pinkie did the mannerisms to her promise. "Oh I, Pinkie Promise, too?" I said confusingly. "I'll teach you the Pinkie Promise." she said raising her hoof. "First, cross your heart. Second, wave it like you are flying. Then finally, pretend you have a cupcake in your hoof and put it to your eye." I did the directions she told me. "Now say the oath." she smiled. "Cross my heart, and hope to fly or stick a cupcake in my eye." I said. "There now you promise too." she said. I smiled brightly. "Oh Pinkie, I am so happy you are my first real friend ever." I said giving her the biggest hug. She hugged me back just as tightly. "Now, since I've been young, I've been here all the time by myself." I said. " My mother and father have been my best friends since I was filly. Sometimes, I wish I could go to Ponyville and see all the amazing different ponies there. I hear they have amazing parties and adventures" "Yeah we have great parties, I should know I'm the pony who plans them." Pinkie said. "You're a party pony too?" I asked. "That doesn't really surprise me, you sort of at like my mom. She's a party pony from Las Pegasus." "Your mom is a party pony!" Pinkie exclaimed. "Shhh, but yeah she used to be the greatest at her job in Las Pegasus, but then she left and wouldn't tell me why." I explained. "Well that's sad, almost as sad as you can't come into Ponyville." she said. There was a pause, but then she gasped loudly. "If you can't go to Ponyville, I'll bring a piece of Ponyville to you!" she exclaimed. "What are you talking about exactly?" I asked. "Tomorrow we meet by the rock we met and then I will come back with more friends with stuff from Ponyville." she said. "You think that would work I mean, won't it be difficult to hide that from my mom?" I asked. "That's why we will be super duper secret about it." she said simply. "Well..." I started. "Okay I will meet you tomorrow, same time." "Oh we should have a noise just in case, it isn't one of us." she explained. "How about Sprinkle?" I asked. "Or Confetti?" she asked. "...SprinkleConfetti?" I suggest. "PERFECT!" she screams. "'Genta?" a voice calls. "Is that you?" "That's my mom." I gasp pushing Pinkie towards the woods. "You have to go." "Okay, but see you tomorrow?" Pinkie asked moving into the woods. "Of course." say with a smile. She smiled as she bounced off into the woods. ""Genta...where you talking to someone?" my mother asked. "No mama." I said. "I wouldn't break the rules you tell me everyday." "I know it's hard for you Magenta, but it's for your own good." she said. "Now I finished dinner so why don't you come in and eat?" "Okay mom I will be right there." I said as she started walking back to the cottage. I turned to the woods. "Tomorrow Pinkie Pie, I promise." I said doing the promise she taught me. Tomorrow was a new day and I woke up excited and ready to meet with my new friend, Pinkie Pie. I rushed to get ready and finish everything before going out. "Wow, you are in a good morning today." my mother said. "You haven't touch the ground, not once." "Oh, I just can't wait to get out and fly around." I said. "I feel good about ti today." "Well, since you are done early... you can go out and have fun flying." my mother said. "I'm so happy, you are happy even after yesterday." "I understand the rules mama, I know they are important to you." I say kissing her check. "They are and one day I will explain to you why, but for now have a great day, honey dear." she said. "I'll see you later." I say flying out the door quickly as possible. I fly in the woods to get the spot where Pinkie and I first met. I stop right before the opening. "Are you sure your...friend is coming, dear?" a sort of debutante voice asked. "She is, she just has a lot to do before coming here." Pinkie said. "Well hopefully she gets here soon." a raspy voice said. "I'm getting bored. "Now Rainbow, you haves to be patient." a country accent responded. "I hope she's a nice person." a quiet voice said. "I'm sure a friend of Pinkie's would automatically become a friend of ours." another voice said. I gulped. "There are so many ponies, maybe I overstepped my boundaries a little too far." I thought. "I can't back down now though." "SprinkleConfetti." I said out the woods. "What was that?" the last voice asked. "Ooo, my friend, SprinkleConfetti!" Pinkie exclaimed. I slowly come out from the woods. "Wow, you weren't kiddin' when you said she lived in the woods, Pinkie." the country mare with the hat said. "'GENTA!" Pinkie exclaimed tackling me. "PINKIE!" I exclaim back, hugging her. We both laughed as we laid there on the ground. "Let me introduce you to my best friends!" Pinkie excitedly said turning to her friends pointing them out one by one. "Okay, everyone this is Magenta Burst. This is Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, and Princess Twilight Sparkle." "Princess?" I ask slightly bowing. "No need for that, I wish to be treated just like a friend." Twilight said. "Wow Pinks, I didn't know you knew such ponies in high power." I said. "Well I am on the Friendship Council in Ponyville." Pinkie explained slightly bouncing. "WAIT A COUNCIL?" I asked loudly. "You didn't think, I don't know, that was important to tell me?" "Well you didn't ask silly." Pinkie said. I sighed exasperatedly. "Pinkie." I moaned. "I'm guessin' Pinkie didn't tell you more about us or her." Applejack chuckled. "Not exactly." I chuckled back. "Well let's introduce ourselves a bit." Twilight started. "I'm Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship." "And a totally egghead." Rainbow Dash said. "I'm Rainbow Dash and I am the fastest flier in Equestria." "Hmm, you sure about that?" I asked raising an eyebrow. "What's that supposed to mean?" she asked. "Well, how would you like to race an aerodynamic flyer racer's daughter?" I smirked. "Oh. You. Are. On." Rainbow Dash said in my face getting ready to fly off before Applejack grabbed her tail with her teeth. "No Rainbow, this isn't about racing right now, so do that later." Applejack said. "Hey there lassy, my name is Applejack, and I am an apple farmer." "Hello dear, I must say the colors of your coat and mane would do fabulous in this new dress I am designing." Rarity said. "Rarity." Applejack warned. "Oh, yes, I am Rarity, a fashion designer and icon." Rarity said. I looked at the light yellow pegasus hiding behind her friends. "Oh, hi I'm Flu-" she started before turning quiet. "Excuse me?" I ask nicely. "Flutter-" she tried again. "I'm sorry, one more time." I said lifting my wing to my ear. "She's Fluttershy and like her name she's a bit shy." Twilight explained. "She loves animals though." "Oh well it's nice to meet you and everyone." I said looking at everyone. "I'm so glad that all my friends are now your friends, I could just explode!" Pinkie exclaimed. "Well, I am glad to be included." I said blushing. "We would be more than glad to include you in some of our activities." Rarity said. "I'm always happy for a new friend." Twilight said. "You seen pretty cool, so you are okay with me." Rainbow Dash said. I, being super excited, started shaking. "You okay sugacube?" Applejack asked. "I'm just so happy I could just..." I said flying up doing multiple flips. "BURST!" "You're like a pop rock aren't cha?" she asked. "More like a firework, kinda like my cutie mark." I said. "I get excited and explode with energy." "Well it is highly contagious." Fluttershy said quietly. "Well thank you." I say. "Now since you burst with energy, what do you say about that race, by the way who's daughter are you?" Rainbow asked. "Oh, sure" I said simply. "Turbo Breeze is my dad." "Turbo Breeze, one of the top aerodynamic flyer racer's of his and our time?" she questioned. "Yeah, but if you don't believe me you could just eat my dust when I pass you up." I smirk at her. "Oh yeah, we are going to be great friends." she said getting in position by me. "Okay, ready, set..." "GO!" Pinkie screamed. We both took off making sharp turns and flying in high and low altitudes. "You're pretty good." she called. "Race you to Ponyville?" "Ponyville?" I ask with wide eyes. "What, scared I might actually win?" she teased. "Just to the center of town, at Sugarcube Corner." "Scared." I scoffed. "Now way, bring it!" We both headed in the direction to Ponyville. "Oh no!" Pinkie called. "'Genta, come back!" "What's wrong Pinkie?" Twilight asked. ""Genta, she can't go into Ponyville, it's part of her rules!" Pinkie exclaimed. "I don't want her to move away forever!" "Woah now." Applejack said. "Moving away?" "Yeah, her mom doesn't really want her meeting new ponies or going into Ponyville for some reason." Pinkie explained. "If she finds out, she'll be sent away or locked away." "Well we can't let that happen, come on girls." Twilight said as they all ran down the path to Ponyville. Author's Note Two out of three rules broken, what is going to happen next to Magenta now that she's going into Ponyville? This is without an editor so there may be a lot of mistakes.
