Our vacation had just begun, and I had sat down with a pad of paper, a pencil, and an afternoon to waste away writing a fanfic, sorry, a true story about my favorite video game series and my favorite cartoon. I heard my mom shriek from the other room. I rushed in to see she had fallen off the step stool and needed to be rushed to the hospital. "So much for that," I said referring to the story I was about to write. "At least this will make a good sub-story." I grabbed my coat as we headed out the front door. For those of you who don't care about my mom's possible broken hip, here is the story I was able to write in the emergency room. "Well, that was fun." Rainbow Dash commented. "Oh, ya that was, like, the BEST WEDDING EVER!" the voice of Pinkie Pie echoed off the walls of the tunnel the train was going through. "I'm just glad we got rid of those awful changelings," Rarity responded. "They could've ruined the entire wedding." "They almost did, sugar." I shouldn't even need to explain who that was. "Oh, yes, but we stopped them." Fluttershy's timid voice could barely be understood over the click-clack of the railroad tracks. The five of them paused expecting Twilight to say something, until they remembered she and Spike had stayed behind to congratulate her new sister. The conversation shifted to their next adventure as the train rode down the tracks. "Where is it?" the purple egghead asked. Fortunately for me, she couldn't hear the narrator as she looked through her Canterlot library. "Twilight, why don't you go see Shining Armour and Cadence? They are the reason we're still here, aren't they?" Spike asked. It was getting late and he needed his beauty sleep. He was a baby dragon. "Yes, but ever since we found that time traveling spell, I've been waiting to get back here and look for other spells." "Didn't you say the more advanced spells are in Canterlot castle? In the Star Swirl the Bearded wing?" "Well, uh..." sometimes Spike knows too much and makes too much sense. She threw a pillow playfully across the room with her magic as a smile spread across her face. "Go to bed." He smiled wryly. "Thank you." He walked up the stairs to his bed, which is an actual bed, instead of a basket and a blanket. "Good-night!" he called from upstairs. "Good-night." she giggled at herself as she unloaded her backpack to head off to the Canterlot library. It would be another long night of studying, but that was to be expected when she became the princess's student. She sighed. If only she didn't have to worry about all of this. Maybe travel to a magical far-away place. Where the sun is always shining and the air smells like warm root beer. And the towels are oh-so fluffy. Where the shriners and the lepers play their ukuleles all day long, and anyone on the street will glady shave your back for a nickel *gasp*. Wacka wacka doodoo yeah. Sorry about that. Albuqurque, by "Weird Al" Yankovic "Well...I guess this is farewell, huh? Light and shadow can't mix, as we all know. But... Never forget that there's another world bound to this one." "Shadow and light are two sides of the same coin...One cannot exist without the other. I know now the reason the goddesses left the Mirror of Twilight in this world...They left it because it was their design that we should meet. Yes...That is what I believe." "Zelda...Your words are kind, and your heart is true. If all in Hyrule are like you...Then maybe you'll do all right." She turns and walks, activating the light platform entering into the Twilight realm. "Thank you...Well, the princess spoke truly: as long as that mirror's around, we could meet again...Link..." With that she sheds a tear, knowing she will never see him again. The tear, being of the Twilight princess, levitates. "I..." she shoves the tear towards the Mirror of Twilight. "See you later..." It is a bitter parting, knowing the world is safe, but needing to return to rule her own people. The tear lands squarely in the center of the mirror, cracking it in a way that can never be repaired. She is quick to transport to her own world before the mirror is ineffective. It shatters into millions of pieces. Removing all hope of them ever seeing each other again. The two of them stood there for a moment, taking in the whole scene before the camera pans upwards and those specific two, Link and Princess Zelda, were never heard of again. UNTIL TODAY! This will be more of a comedic attempt at a Legend of Zelda game. This will not be immediately after the game either. This story will take place ten years later. "Zeeeeldaaaaa!!" the voice of Link rang out through the entire castle. Because you hated when I didn't include Link's dialogue in the prequel, I will include Link's dialogue in this one. "Master Link, she has gone to Death Mountain to insure the peace between us and the Gorons," a guard informed the new king. He flinched. "Are you new here? I would prefer a non-formal greeting. None of that 'master' business." "Understood, Ma- Link." Underneath his armor, he smiled. This job was much better than they made it sound in Knight School. "Good. If anyone needs me, I'll be in the mess hall." "Understood." "So uniform. Loosen up a little bit. There has been no attack in 10 years, I don't expect one soon." The guard shifted in his armor, "Sorry, Link. The cap'ain wants us to be uniform." Link smiled, "I'll just have to have a talk with him after lunch." As he trailed off to lunch, the guard he had left behind felt at home already, after only 10 minutes, too. This job was going to be awesome. Please note that my mom is fine and I wrote that as another fiction story.
Chapter 1View OnlineLegend of Zelda: Twilight SparkleChapter 1"Ew! No! That's gross!" I was being asked to put pressure on the bleeding leg of a man we pulled out of the woods so our makeshift doctor could put a tourniquet on it, to make a long story short. "Fine." I said. I reached over and pressed down on his thigh. I had just gotten the game The Walking Dead, and I had stayed up all night trying to beat it. I was in the middle of chapter 2 when my alarm clock went off. "Oh boy! 3 am!" Time to write my fanfic! "Forget it!" Twilight shouted, her scream echoing through the hallways of the Canterlot Library. She couldn't concentrate enough to finish any of these spells. With her magic, she picked up the book and flung it across the room. "Twilight! What are you doing?" Twilight turned to find Princess Mi Amore Cadenza levitating the book inches in front of her face, a light blue levitation spell around it. The book would probably have hit the new sister if Cadence hadn't stopped it. "Sorry, these spells are all just too hard." She stomped her hoof in frustration. "What spells are you trying to do, exactly? Remember, I know a concentration spell." Unfortunately, when she used the concentration spell, she became part of the spell, any effects will effect her too. "Well, this one's a start." She put her hoof on a spell in the middle of the page. She turned her head as she waited for Cadence to walk over to her. "Are you sure? Interdementional travel has only been tried successfully twice. I can't just leave a week after my wedding!" "We can always come right back. And besides, it's only been TRIED three times. Two out of three are pretty good odds if you ask me." She was as excited about spells as reading, and she was just about to open a novel. "Open a novel? Is that the best you've got?" Pinkie? Your not even IN this scene! "I don't HAVE to be. I'm Pinkie Pie." It sounds much weirder when you say it. "Say what?" 'It's Pinkie Pie'. It's usually the explanation for most of your crazy antics. "No, silly! I said I'M Pinkie Pie. There's a BIG difference. Could you get back to the story? This is gettin' good." But, you...I can't...Forget it. "Are you sure?" Princess Cadence confirmed. "YES!" Twilight was overexcited. Nonetheless Cadence activated her concentration spell, sending a small static lightning bolt between their two horns. Twilight cast her interdimentional spell, engulfing the two of them in a purple flash of light. Neither Twilight nor Cadence had any idea of where they where going. Nor of the adventure they where about to have. "Cap'ain. Could you come here for a moment?" The captain didn't try to hide his eye roll as he walked over to Master Link. This was the 5th time this week Link had talked to him about the 'stiffness of the guards'. "Yes, Master Link?" Link stared angrily at him for a moment. Sighing and rolling his eyes once again, he said, "Yes, Link?" "Thank you. I suspect you know what this is about?" "Sir, you need to learn to let me do my job. I know how to do it better then anyone in the land of Hyrule." "I'm not correcting you, I'm just offering advice." He paused waiting for the captain to finish it with him. "Advice you have to follow." They said in harmony. Every time they talked, Link had said that. "Exactly! Now your getting it." Link smiled in mocking pride. "Let's assume there WAS an attack? The knights wouldn't be ready." "Like I've told ALL the knights, there hasn't been an attack in 10 years. What would cause one now? Ganon is dead,..." "Let me set up a fake attack." the captain interrupted in an evil, untrustworthy smile. Link looked at the ceiling, thinking about the proposal. "May I ask how?" "It would be better if you are uninvolved." He thought a moment before continuing. "Let's just say I know a guy." And with that, he turned and walked away, leaving Link standing there, awestruck and slightly afraid of what his top man, the captain of the guards, was capable of. He shrugged off the thought as he headed down the hall, trying to think of something to do. Zelda wouldn't be back till tomorrow. Maybe he could ride Epona, named after his other horse during his adventure. That seemed like a great idea! He changed courses towards the stable. A quick ride around Hyrule field would leave him tired and ready for bed. "Why are you making it so obvious? It's no fun if they can tell what's going to happen." Oh, no. Are you going to be my side reader forever? "Not if you don't want me to." No, I do want you...*sigh* "Get on with the story then! Link finds Twilight and Princess Cadence in Hill-rule field. Hyru-...nevermind. A lone bulblin sets his newest meal, a wild hog, on the back of his horse. "Ow! Gently! I don't care how tough you are! You need to be gentle! If it weren't for me, you'd be dead right now!" The bulblin grunted in apology, obviously understanding, but unable to respond back. His steed was, in fact, that one unicorn who did not return from his interdementional vacation. He was a dark green stallion with faded blue stubs of a mane and tail with a single, sparkling raindrop as a cutie mark. The last five years have been tough on him, resulting on a bite in his ear, a snapped horn, and a bad attitude. He eventually learned to adjust to life in the Gerudo Desert, which had been the only place he had ever been in Hyrule. His name was Professor Rainbottom. He was one of the top scientists and testers for discovering new spells back in the very beginning of Equestria, but, within an hour of his arrival, his horn was snapped off by a stray arrow. It had never grown back, and he had lost all his magic abilities. He was left alone and defenseless. The next day, he explored his surroundings and saved the life of the bulblin, who's appreciation was using him as his horse, feeding and taking care of him. "Nevermind! Let's just go back to base. I'm starving." The bulbin shrugged as he jumped onto his steed, who had gotten much stronger over their time together. With a grunt he kicked Rainbottom, giving him the motive to gallop off to base for his next meal. On his way back, he noticed a bright, purple flash of light behind a rock. The same rock he, himself, had appeared into this hellhole. He decided to check it out. "Did you see that flash? That's a teleportation spell!" The bulblin looked confused. Rainbottom rolled his eyes. "Meaning, a way back to Equestria!" He changed course towards the rock as Twilight Sparkle rounded the corner towards him, obviously surprised at the dramatic change of scenery.
Chapter 2View OnlineLegend of Zelda: Twilight SparkleChapter 2Pinkie has been begging me to let her write this next part, so I'm handing the pencil over to Pinkie. Good luck Pinkie and you, the audience. "Thank you! Now then, it all started-" We have already started the story. Pick up where I left off. "I don't want to do that silly! What's the fun in that?" They've already read the beginning, they don't need to read it again. "Well, what if they want to?" "I don't think....Why do I have quotation marks?" "I put them there. You just saw me do that." "Give me that. "Are you going to close quotes?" No. "Can I at least finish the cha-" No. "Meanie." Note that I am using the Wii version for my compass directions. The map I'm using can be found here. Link huddled into his attack position, imagining a herd (herd?) of bokoblins in their attack formation. "Heyah!" Link yelled with a kick. Epona, albeit confused, did as she was told and ran at her fastest pace northwest, towards the Bridge of Eldin. As they came closer, Link drew his sword as started slicing the air, for whatever reason. Humans. However, at the last moment before crossing the bridge, he pulled back on the reigns. "Gee, it sure is boring around here, without actual monsters to fight." "MAH BOI, THIS PEACE IS WHAT ALL TRUE WARRIORS STRIVE FOR," a voice boomed out of nowhere. Link sat still listening for a while, confused and scared. He tried to think of what he had said. He couldn't figure it out, and didn't want to anger the voice, so he left it a mystery. That's when he remembered the Hidden Village. After Ganon and the threat against Hyrule was gone, Link had turned the village into a bow and arrow training hall. He checked his magic bag to find he only had about 10 arrows, none-the-less, he kicked off north along Eldin Bridge. Twilight had never seen a pony in such bad shape. His mane and tail looked like they were cut with a knife. And that thing on his back. A green, hairless diamond dog with glowing red eyes that seemed to gaze into your soul. He had sock-like things on his front paws, depicting two claw-like paws. If he weren't so allowing of the pony to come to her, she would of suspected this being was enslaving the colt. "Oh, thank goodness you've come." He had a slight, what would on Earth be considered a Russian accent. "I've been trapped in this dry, dusty hell since my horn broke off." He shoved his head forward, emphasizing his snapped horn. Twilight moved back with disgust and fear of what could happen to her. He sensed her fear and changed the subject. "Sorry, I haven't even introduced myself." He stood up proud, slipping the bulblin off his back and onto his head, knocking him unconscious. "I am Professor Rainbottom. And who do I have the privilege of making my acquaintance?" Privilege. Acquaintance. She liked his vocabulary. "I am Twilight Sparkle. Princess Celestia's prized pupil. And this," she stepped aside, reveling an unconscious Cadence, "is Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, but you can call her Cadence." Evidently, Cadence had taken the impact of the spell, dropping her unconscious, and Twilight without a head ache. Rainbottom stared in disbelief. "Sh-she she's a-an alicorn! I thought they were extinct!" he caught Twilight's confusion and explained, "besides Princess Celestia and Nightmare Moon." "You mean Princess Luna? She hasn't been Nightmare Moon for the last 10 years, when exactly did you get here?" "I've been here over 5 years, but not THAT long." He realized he was finding himself slightly attracted to the mare. "So, do you want to come to camp? We could feed you and your friend, that is, when she comes to." With a shrug, Twilight agreed. "Ya, that sounds nice," she chuckled. "Could you help me get her there?" she chuckled. The colt was so dashing, surviving here over the last 5 years, no telling what danger could have happened to him. She would stick near him. For protection, of course. Rainbottom looked at the bulblin lying on the ground. He would be out for the next few hours, so he could return to get him, and not have to deal with the hassle of making up for deserting Twilight. It may be because she was the first intelligent mare he had seen over the last 5 years that he loved her so much with such little interaction, but he wanted to be near her all the time. "Sure." He attempted to get underneath Cadence. He failed. She was in such an awkward position, he couldn't...get...under.... She was levitated by a purple glow. He looked at Twilight, who was giggling into her hoof. Instead of laughing with her, he was infuriated. "Couldn't have mentioned that before?" he shouted at her. Twilight was surprised at his bad attitude. "I-I'm sorry?" She set the body on his back. They walked in silence the entire long trip back to the camp. Twilight was probably thinking about how she could get back to Ponyville as soon as possible. After that breakout of his newly-developed temper, he really couldn't blame her. He felt he was getting in with her too. Him and his stupid temper. *BOING!* "Nice shot!" Impaz replied. The shot hit directly in the center of the target he had set up, snapping it in half. "Is that 9/10?" "8. I missed the third one." Link replied. He was proud of his skills, but wasn't about to lie about it. "It ricocheted, however. Should I count it or not?" his pencil hung patiently over his score sheet. "Naw, I don't need one other point. What does it matter anyway?" Anyone could have sensed the depression in his tone. Obviously, the lack of excitement was getting to him. "I need more arrows for you to use." "Don't worry about it, I couldn't get anywhere close to that. Go home and take the day off." "And do what?" he screamed, louder then he meant to. He kept the volume, "Zelda's gone and-and..." he paused, trying to think of what to say next, hoping Impaz would butt in. "Oh, right. The gerudo's wanted you to step by. They wanted to settle some...arguments? was it?" Link sighed. Since Ganondorf attacked, him and the gerudos didn't exactly see eye to eye. "Of course. Well, I'm off to the desert." He angrily walked over to Epona, jumped on and kicked off. He needed a vacation. No, he needed action. He turned towards the castle to grab arrows. It would be a long, hopefully exciting night.
