The Interrogation

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

The two mares walked out of Trottingham Yard with driven scowls. These mares were ready to fight and get that filly back home, or at least what she had left of it. Bon-Bon and Ice Flake knew where to go.

They had to interrogate Trust Fund. There was a slight catch to that, though. Trust Fund was in Liverhoof, a sub-city Of Trottingham located to the south. They had a feeling that he was heavily armed and guarded. That was the catch.

“Alright, Ice Flake. I need you to go to the station and get two tickets to Liverhoof. I need to use the restroom”, Bon-Bon said.

“Right, on it”, Ice Flake said back.

They split and made their way to do their separate deeds. With that, Bonnie made her way to the restroom. She did her business and trotted to the sink. As she was washing her hands, her mind wandered to her wife and filly. Her fear was that the goons would get to them and harm themselves in any way.

The thought made her shiver with anguish.

“Calm down, Bonnie. It’s going to be fine. Scoots and Lyra are alright”, she calmed herself in the mirror.

“Mrs. Drops?”, said an accented voice.

Bonnie turned to find Ice Flake holding to tickets.

“Are you alright?”, Ice Flake.

“Yeah, just fine. Let’s get going”, Bonnie said while pushing past her. She had look like she had seen a ghost.

Ice Flake didn’t know why, but that look made her tremble a bit.

[bTWO HOURS LATER

The train halted to a steamy stop in LiverHoof. The city was the place where the Fab Four made music in Equestria more than just a monopoly. But that wasn’t why Bon-Bon and Ice Flake were there. The were gonna find out who killed those ponies and bring the filly back home.

The weather in Liverhoof was surprisingly sunny. It gave a calm vibe to the otherwise mopey city.

There was one problem, however. They didn’t know where the hay to start. All they knew was the perps location, but beyond that it was like walking in a mine field.

“Alright, seeing as how we have no clear direction, me should go and get a hotel room. Do you know of any hotels or inns here, Ice Flake?”, Bonnie asked.

“If I do recall my briefing, there is an inn in the downtown district. It’s about 5 miles exactly. If you wish, we could check in there”, Ice Flake said.

Bon-Bon nodded and the two made their way downtown. The district was very colorful and lively. They saw their apparent destination up ahead; The Nook N’ Cranny Inn.

It was a simple, yet gothic building. It was clear that it’d been there for a while, as the cobblestone walls were quite banged up.

They trotted in and took a good look at their surroundings. There was an extraordinary amount of red lighting and stained glass. The walls were adorned with pictures of famous art and literature. The pony working the front desk was a cheerful, portly mare.

“‘Hello there, dearies! Welcome to the Nook N’ Cranny Inn! What may I do ya for?”, She asked in a pleasant accent.

“Hello, we wish to rent a room, preferably for a week”, Ice Flake said.

“Alrighty, that can be done. That will be 40 pounds, please”, the friendly clerk said.

Ice Flake put the money on the table and was given a room key. They were in room 240.

“Thank you, m’am; best wishes”, Ice Flake said while trotting towards the stairs. Bonnie followed suit.

They walked down the wondering halls until they eventually found their room. They entered and were taken aback by the decor.

There were mirrors everywhere, even on the ceiling. The room was painted a deep purple, and there were cellophane flowers.

To say that it was strange was putting it lightly.

“Ok, this is a bit strange. I can understand the flowers, but mirrors on the ceiling? Who designed this place?”, Bon-Bon inquired.

Ice Flake shrugged and put her bag on the bed. She pulled out a small pistol and a clip. She loaded it and put in down. Next, she pulled out a teddy bear.

“Why do you have a teddy bear?”, Bonnie asked.

“When we find the filly, she’ll need some kind of comfort. Might as well give her one of my old teddies”, Ice Flake said.

“That’s really nice of you, I know that I would do the same for my daughter”, Bon-Bon said.

Ice Flake looked very suprised.

“You have a daughter? Wow, that’s unexpected”, Ice Flake said.

“Now what’s that supposed to mean?”, Bonnie said angrily.

“No No! I didn’t mean it in a bad way. I’m just suprised is all. You don’t look like a mare who has given birth”, Ice Flake said, trying to clear confusion.

“You’re right, I haven’t given birth. She’s my adopted daughter”, Bon-Bon said.

“Ohhhh, that makes sense. Do you take care of her by yourself? Or is their somepony else?”, Ice Flake smirked.

“My wife and I adopted her. You see, I run a candy shop where I’m from. She always used to come by and buy my candy. When we found out she was an orphan, we decided to help her out. Coincidentally, we both wanted to adopt. So I guess it was kind of like a right place right time kind of thing”, Bon-Bon said.

Ice Flake nodded and looked down a bit.

“What’s wrong, Ice Flake?”, Bonnie asked.

“Well...I have a foal as well. I’m just kinda missing him is all”, Ice Flake admitted.

“Wow, that’s great. Who’s taking care of him? His father, I presume?”, Bon-Bon asked.

Ice Flake began to cry a bit, catching Bon-Bon by suprise.

“No...He’s staying with my sister. My husband.....He’s no longer with us. Somepony murdered him a couple of days after I gave birth. That’s why I became an agent; to solve the case that’s been haunting me for the last 7 years”, Ice Flake said before weeping loudly.

Bon-Bon gasped; she wasn’t expecting something so gruesome from a seemingly normal mare. She trotted up and hugged the blue mare, who accepted it.

“Ice Flake, I’m so sorry that happened to you. I couldn’t live with myself if something happened to my wife, I envy you for being so strong and raising your foal by yourself for years”, Bonnie emotionally said.

“Thank you, but that’s not what we’re here for. We gotta find that filly and bring justice back to Trottingham. Through hell or high water”, Ice Flake said decisively.

“You’re absolutely right, Ice Flake”, Bon-Bon said.

“Please, just call me Flakey. That’s what all of my friends call me” Ice Flake said in a nice tone.

“Then you can call me by my real name. Call me Bon-Bon”, Bonnie said.

“Alright, Bon-Bon. What do you say we-“, Ice Flake was interrupted by a commotion in the next room.

“SHUT UP YOU LITTLE BITCH, MAKE MORE NOISE AND I’LL SLIT YOUR BLOODY THROAT!”, a gruff voice muffledly yelled.

They then heard a filly-like cry come afterwards.

“You don’t think.....?”, Bon-Bon put two and two together.

“It’s possible, be quiet and let’s keep listening”, Ice Flake said.

“I want my mommy!!!”, the filly said while crying.

“TOO BAD, SHE’S DEAD AND GONE! YOU’LL NEVER SEE HER AGAIN. NOW KEEP QUIET BEFORE I HURT YOU WORSE THAN I DID YOUR FAMILY!!”, the horrid voice threatened.

That was all it took before the two agents stepped into action. They pulled out their guns and prepared to bust down the door.

“Alright, follow my lead Flakey. One...Two...THREE”, Bonnie said before they knocked the door down with a kick.

“TROTTINGHAM YARD, PUT YOUR HOOVRS IN THE AIR AND LEAVE THE FILLY ALONE!”, Bon-Bon said.

The two in question was a large, bouncer type stallion and a lime green filly. It was Lime Scent, alright.

“OH CRAP! Please! Don’t hurt me! I’m just a henchman!”, the blubbering fool said with his hooves in the air.

The filly ran to Ice Flake, who cradled her while she wept.

“Now, I’m going to make this short and sweet. Where is Trust Fund?”, Bonnie said angrily.

“How do you know him?”, the buff stallion said.

“Do you want to question somepony with a loaded gun? Or do you want a face full of BUCKING LEAD? TALK!!”, Bon-Bon said with gritted teeth.

“Ok ok ok!! Just don’t shoot!! He’s at the casino!! The Mareiot! It’s down the street. Just don’t hurt me!!!”, The coward cried.

“You make sick, you bastard. Ice Flake, I’m gonna call for immediate backup. I know that there are agents here. They’ll get Lime Scent back to Trottingham Yard. After that’s done, we’re pop some lead”, Bonnie said.

Eventually, back up came and took the filly away. Lime Scent was pretty much always in tears. So the ponies had to be extra gentle.

As they took her safely away, Bon-Bon talked to Ice Flake.

“That’s step one, Ice Flake. Tommorow, we arrest some scum. Let’s rest”, Bonnie said while turning towards their room.
