Years after the Storm King's invasion, peace was restored throughout the land. As night began as Luna raised the moon, everypony began to sleep in their homes and drift away to imaginable dream realms. But one night, as Fizzlepop slept, she found herself in a boiler room of someplace she did not understand. She looked around and tried to find an exit but she saw no doors around her in the very room. Then she heard a sound of screeching steel coming from down the hallways and approaching her. She then saw a creature with burnt skin, finger knives, and pitch white eyes. A creature with no soul and he made a smile with his yellow teeth that can scare anyone to the bone. As it approached her, she questioned the creature.
"Who are you?" she asked.
The creature then spoke with a raspy sound, "Your worst nightmare."
"Who are you called!?" she said.
"I am Freddy Krueger, and I control everything in every dream world your mind creates, while you sleep." he said.
Freddy slashed Fizzlepop on her belly and she yelled and cried in pain of the strike. She then realize that Freddy is a murderous, living nightmare to people who sleep and letting him kill them in their sleep. She has no other option but to run from Freddy. With his powers, he made some metal plates fly at her, but she avoided them. When she hit a wall, she then woke up from the dream realm and into the waking world. She then realized the claw marks on her belly and she knew that the things Freddy does in the dream realm he does it for real. She then gone back to sleep until the day wakes.
In the morning, Fizzlepop rushed to the Mane 6 throne room to tell them and Starlight of her nightmares. Twilight looked at her belly, scratched and clawed very deep. She was concerned about her condition.
"What happened to you, Fizzlepop?" asked Twilight.
"I have experienced a nightmare more deadly than the Tantabus and Nightmare Moon." she said.
"Well who is doing all of that to you?" asked Starlight.
"His name is Freddy Krueger, he is a malevolent spirit thus a living nightmare in the dream realm." she said.
"Well, how did you know of him?" asked Applejack.
"When I first encountered him, he had burnt skin, pitch white eyes, and a glove with razor sharp finger knives like claws that can tear a hole through my soul." she explained.
Everypony gasped in the room that Equestria is now in danger of a living nightmare. Twilight and the others must give the princesses, and all the other leaders about the nightmarish phenomenon that will be spread all over.
"Spike, send a letter to the princess quick!" said Twilight.
"Maybe Luna can help us about the nightmare you had Fizzlepop." said Fluttershy.
"Sure, she know about nightmares in the dreams of everypony." she said.
"The message is sent!" said Spike.
"Okay, only to make sure that we can find out of who this living nightmare really is." said Rainbow Dash.
"We should go to Canterlot and tell them about it." said Rarity.
"Well, okay let's go." said Pinkie Pie.
"On the way." said Starlight as they all left the castle and traveled to Canterlot to tell Fizzlepop's nightmare.
History of Dream Realm Spirits
As the Mane 6, Starlight, and Fizzlepop journey to Canterlot, they knew that the very time that Luna was Nightmare Moon before defeat. She had an experience of creating and living the nightmares and also meeting the dream realm spirits back from her 1,000 year long prison on the moon. If Freddy is also one of the spirits she met, then they all can have the advantage to stop Freddy and save the land. As they all entered the castle, Princess Celestia took notice of their arrival, as they approached the princesses, Twilight explained about Fizzlepop's nightmare. After all of the explaining, the princesses were being very worried of the living nightmare running rampant to the dreams of everypony. Luna was mostly worried of what she heard of.
"I have met Freddy Krueger before." she said.
"You have?" asked Starlight.
"Since back in the years as I spent the 1,000 year imprisonment on the moon as Nightmare Moon, I have met a few spirits of the dream realm when I slumber. I have met a few of them who seek to fill everypony pleasant dreams. But Freddy Krueger, he is a murderous nightmare which he preys on the souls of our subjects while they sleep. He kills them in their sleep with many nightmarish powers, he will be planning to kill everypony here in our land and cause a huge massacre." she explained.
The ponies were shocked of what Luna said, and they are just as worried of what might happen to others. Twilight knew of the dreams she experienced as well as her friends and she might have an idea to destroy Freddy.
"Well, I might look back at my castle's library to see what spell I may create to help us fight Freddy." she said.
"That can work, if we can try to lure him to a little fight he may never forget." said Rainbow Dash.
"Be careful, he is not very easy to be taunted or provoked." warned Celestia.
"We will as soon as we encounter him." said Applejack.
"I will accompany you all to Twilight's castle, you all won't have to do this alone." said Luna.
"Okay." said Fluttershy.
"I see that you are making a bold risk sister." said Celestia.
"I know, because I am willing to give my life to you and everypony too." she said.
"Very well." said Celestia.
"I promise that I will be back alive." said Luna.
"Okay, and be careful because, I don't want to lose you again. Like of what happened 1,000 years ago." she said.
"I will." said Luna.
As they all left Canterlot and back to Ponyville, they all settled at Twilight's castle and been looking in every book to find the one spell to fight Freddy. As they looked around, Twilight has found the spell to fight him. As she called her friends over, she explained that they can use the dream catcher spell to grab hold of Freddy and lure him to the waking world. As Luna observed the spell, she made a 100% approval of the usable spell to catch Freddy and fight him either in the dream realm or the waking world.
"We must rest everypony, when we all enter the dream realm we must catch him as quickly as possible to destroy that nightmare no matter the cost." said Luna.
"Okay, let's sleep. Also be careful my friends." said Twilight.
"We will." said all of her friends.
"I will too." said Fizzlepop as they all slept in slumber to the dream realm waiting for Freddy to come at them.
Then a song came to them as it sang,
One, two, Freddy's coming for you.
Three, four, Better lock your door
Five, six, grab a crucifix.
Seven, eight, Gonna stay up late.
Nine, ten, Never sleep again....
When they all drifted away to the dream realm, they all looked around to find Freddy. But he was nowhere to be found, then Twilight found a strange house that is like where Freddy lives. She called to her friends to walk in to the house and began their search. As they all entered, the house was filled with decayed wallpaper, rotten wood, burn spots, and torn up curtains. Then, Twilight found a light that leads to a door down the basement. They all entered the basement and Twilight found a book that belongs to Freddy. When she opened it, she saw pictures of children that Freddy killed as his victims. When she closed the book, she then now realized that Freddy is truly an evil creature of making nightmares and kill.
"I see that you looked through his book, Twilight." said Luna.
"Yes, he.... is truly a monster when he killed those children." she said.
"Oh, goodness!" said Fluttershy.
"We must find him no matter what." said Fizzlepop.
Then, they heard a sound of footsteps coming from the other side of the boiler. They now realized that Freddy is coming for them and they are in their fighting stances to battle Freddy as he approached them with his weapon on his right hand.
"Well, well, well. I guess I have a few souls to take and devour." he said.
"Those kids you've killed was barbaric and selfish of your desire to be a murderer." said Luna.
"They are the ones who were born from the very people who never really understood me or anything else. They all never accepted me as a friend to make. So I have made my decision to kill the kids. But for 10 years I have been beat by my enemies, I will not be able to come back! So when I have discovered this place right after my deaths, I will take the souls of ponies instead of humans from my world." he said.
Luna then opened her wings and her eyes glowed white with fury and anger.
"YOU WILL NOT TAKE THE SOULS OF OUR SUBJECTS! I AM THE PRINCESS OF THE NIGHT AND THE DREAM REALM! YOU ARE TO LEAVE OUR LAND ALONE OR I WILL BE YOUR NIGHTMARE!" she roared.
"Try me, Bitch!" he taunted.
Then, Luna and Freddy came at each other and began their duel for the survival of the ponies. Luna used her magic and made blasts on Freddy to weaken him as he was unable to block or avoid her attacks. He was then pissed as he used his dream powers and his glove to strike Luna. But she was valiant that she avoided his attacks. Luna then stabbed Freddy in the torso with her horn as he yelled in agony. The Mane 6, Starlight, and Fizzlepop then joined Luna and attacked Freddy. With the use of their magic, they all used magic blasts and hit Freddy on every part of his body. He was still recovering from the wound that Luna put on him right after she stabbed him as he is unable to block their attacks. Then a flash came and it was Discord, he came to the dream realm to help his friends.
"You all alright?" he asked.
"Yes." they all said.
He looked at Freddy and said, "We haven't met. I'm Discord and who are you?"
"I am Freddy Krueger. And I'm your worst nightmare." he said savagely.
"I see that you are going to kill my friends. Well you have to go through me first!" he challenged.
"Fine then, challenge accepted." he said without hesitation as he and Discord came at each other for another duel.
As Freddy and Discord battled, Discord used his powers to melee him and blast him in every attempt to destroy him. Freddy was very impressed that Discord can actually fight back with random power. He then attacked Discord with the use of his powers and glove as he tried to strike him. Discord was fast that he avoided his attacks and striked back. Freddy was almost about to be very angry of how Discord is fighting him like. Then as the other ponies watched them fight, Twilight is about to have the opportunity to use the spell she made from the book. As Discord weakened Freddy, Twilight then charged her horn and in a flash, they are all back in the waking world as they all see that Freddy is mortal. Freddy was shocked and surprised of what spell the lavender alicorn made and he was very furious that he was stripped from his immortality.
"I will kill you for this!" he yelled.
"Not tonight, Krueger!" said a voice as he turned to see Princess Celestia and her Canterlot royal guards beside her.
"Discord, follow me to fight Freddy!" said Luna.
"Got your back!" he said as he and Luna charged at Freddy.
Their attacks were being very fatal as Freddy tried to fight back with his glove. He then slashed a few guards and stabbed them in the hearts. Celestia joined the fight and battled Freddy with her magic. Freddy knew that when he is out of the dream realm, he cannot be immortal but be easily killed. He is getting weaker and weaker by every hit and blast of the draconequss and the two alicorns beating him up like nothing. He then ran off out of Twilight's castle and into the streets of ponyville. He was in fact trying to avoid their attacks but it all proved pointless. The Mane 6, Starlight, and Fizzlepop ran after them to finish of what they have started.
"You are done, Krueger!" shouted Starlight.
"You have gone down a road of pain, varmit!" said Applejack.
"This time, BE GONE!" roared Luna as she, the Mane 6, Starlight, Fizzlepop, and the others used their magic and struck Freddy in the heart. When the blast happened, he was then unraveling as his body started to melt like wax. In his final moments he said, "I will be back!"
He then was now completely a pile of melted skin and wax as his body disappeared and sunk into the ground. The ponies were relieved that they ended the nightmare red-handed.
"Well, he may be gone. But he may come back." said Fizzlepop.
"True, we must be careful as we sleep. But since we drove him away, let us all get a goodnight sleep." said Luna.
"Okay, and thank you for surviving." said Celestia.
"You're welcome, sister." she said.
"Well, I must get some sleep. Goodnight." said Discord as he disappeared in a flash.
With Freddy gone, they all went back to their homes as they all slept in their beds in peace without any nightmares at all.
