//-------------------------------------------------------// The Optimist, the Pessimist, and the Over-Protective -by Tranquil Stone- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// -Chapter 1- //-------------------------------------------------------// -Chapter 1- The quiet streets of Ponyville filled up with commotion as ponies scrambled away from a orange pegasus with purple mane. Maneuvering around crowds, Scootaloo drove up ramps bolting through Ponyville. Finally arriving at the secluded corner of Sweet Apple Acres, she came to a halt and took of her helmet, shaking her hair into place. Running into the Clubhouse, she spotted her friends Applebloom, Sweetie Belle- and Rumble? Before she could say anything, Applebloom lead her to a corner. "Why is Rumble here? No boys in the clubhouse, remember?" reminded Scootaloo. Applebloom swiveled around to see Sweetie and Rumble talking. "Rumble want to get his-" Applebloom paused, "Cutie Mark!" Scootaloo laughed, "What's so wrong with that?" "After what happened at Cutie Mark Day Camp, he doesn't want to admit it, but he's still sort of afraid about no being good at things" Applebloom whispered, and Scootloo snorted. "Relax, let me handle this" Scootloo, trotting towards Rumble and Sweetie, "So Rumble, what are you good at?" Rumble turned around, "Uh, why would you ask that? I'm amazing at everything, so um, I can do it all" he said nervously. Sweetie rolled her eyes. "Specifically?" Rumble growled, "If you're trying to catch me off guard to say, 'I can't do anything', which is totally not true, won't work. I came here so,so, so-" Rumble stopped to think, "Help me with-" He tore a photo from the cork-board, "Dancing!" Applebloom stared at him, "Rumble, if ya don't know where to start, then-" "Pfft! I can do anything, I'm Rumble!" Seeing the CMC's expression, his fake smile vanished, "Fine, I can't" "Can't what?" asked Sweetie Belle. "Do anything! I can only fly, and I still haven't gotten my Cutie Mark" sighed Rumble, looking down,"So maybe I'm not good at anything" Scootaloo beamed, "Rumble, that's not true, you're good at so many things" "Yeah? Name one" Scootaloo hesitated, "Well, uh-" "Exactly, I can't!" burst Rumble. "That's only because we haven't seen you at your full potential yet" Scootaloo reasoned. Before they could continue, Button Mash ran into the room, panting. "Sweetie, Miss Cheerliee, want, three!" he explained. Sweetie Belle gave a brisk nod and ran out the door. "We'll continue when we come back!" called Scootaloo, as Applebloom pulled her tail out the door. As she shut the door, Button chuckled. "You two are totally into each other" smirked Button. "We are not!" protested Rumble, as Button rolled his eyes. "Please, the whole class ships it!" The clock ticked loudly as the CMC's shook nervously as Miss Cheerilee paced around the room. Sweetie was the only calm one, while Applebloom was shivering and Scootaloo was chatttering. With a stern look on her face, Cheerilee turned to the three fillies. "In our recent test on Cutie Marks, I was-" Cheerilee stopped to think, "Astounded by your mark, because-" Scootaloo and Applebloom closed their eyes, bracing for impact, will Sweetie Belle grinned confidently. "The best ever score! You got full marks in our hardest test!" exclaimed Cheerilee excitedly as the CMC's glanced at each other in shock, "No pony comes close to 30 out of 30, and you've done it! The highest ever is 24, and you beat it! Congratulations girls!" The three looked at each other, smiled, beamed, and then burst out into cheers, "Oh my gosh!!" Cheerilee smiled, "Which is why you will be moving up a class" The girls stopped celebrating, and Applebloom shook her head, confused, "Wait, did ah hear you correctly Miss?" Cheerilee nodded, "Yes, you will no longer be part of this class, the work is too easy for you" They froze, unaware of whether this was a good thing. Sweetie Belle broke the ice, "Wow Crusaders, we are going to be in a class with older ponies! How cool is that?" Reality sank in as the girls erupted into cheers once again. When Cheerilee dismissed them, they trotted out the class to be met with dozens of staring eyes of their classmates. "Woah, are you three moving up a grade?" asked Feather. Scootaloo looked confused. "Did you call eavesdrop on our conversation?" Everypony nodded, and swarmed the CMC's with questions. After finally breaking away from the mob, the hurried back to the Clubhouse. Rumble has his back to them, facing the wall. "Rumble, did you hear? We're moving up a grade!" said Applebloom happily. Rumble turned around, eyes dark and filled with anger and sadness. "You three really are great at everything, aren't you? You're always good at everything. Well, not everypony ends up achieving greatness! I already have to live up to my brother's reputation as a Wonderbolt, and now you three just beat me again!" vented Rumble. "Hold on Rumble. How did we beat you?" asked Scootaloo. "Remember? I was the smartest pony in our grade, and I tried to get my Cutie Mark that way!" The CMC's racked their minds, and vaguely remembered a scene from three years ago.... The classroom was filled with chatter and excitement as Miss Cheerilee got up, ready to make an announcement. Today was the day when everypony would be given the awards for different achievements, sports, music, and lots of other things. "Well my little ponies, time for our awards to be handed out!" announced Miss Cheerilee, "The award for most sportiest goes to- Archer!" The class clapped as Archer got up and revived his award. The awards continued: Feather won best photographer, Button won best gamer, Snips and Snails got funniest and so on. Finally it was time for the one everpony was waiting for, Student of the Year. "The award for Student of the Year goes to- Rumble!" said Cheerilee. Rumble blushed, and got up out of his seat. A few foals clapped, but the others were ignoring him, or talking to the other award winners. Rumble's smile faded, as she saw nopony looking or caring that he won Student of the Year. Ears drooping, his slowly walked back to his seat, as the class chatted loudly and talked amongest, not noticing the small grey pegasus with tears in his eyes. "Don't you see! I was the best student, and nopony ever cared! And now you're being moved up a grade, and the whole class is talking about how great the CMC's are!" mocked Rumble, flying out the door, leaving the CMC's in the dark, tense, Clubhouse. Author's Note I was bored this weekend, so why not. Please feel free to leave feedback, etc etc. Due to an issue before, I would like to inform everyone: This story is not 100% factually checked by Hasbro, or anyone in the staff, and I am not theorizing this to be a continuity of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic show. Thanks, and enjoy! //-------------------------------------------------------// -Chapter 2- //-------------------------------------------------------// -Chapter 2- As Scootaloo headed home, zipping around Ponyville on her scooter, she felt a pang of guilt. How would she feel if somepony never acknowledged her scooter skills, and one day, somepony else came along and took the spotlight, when she had done the same, but never received it? As she burst into the living room, she was greeted by a cyan pegasus mare with rainbow mane. "Scootaloo, no riding inside!" laughed Rainbow Dash, grabbing her helmet and scooter away from Scootaloo. Scootaloo hugged Rainbow, and dashed near the kitchen bench. After lots of paperwork and forms, Rainbow Dash had adopted Scootaloo, and they now lived in a quiet part of Ponyville. They still hadn't defined whether they were sisters or mother-daughter, but they had each other, and that was enough. "So Scoots, how was your day?" Rainbow asked, handing her a sandwich. Scootaloo quickly stuffed it into her mouth, chewing vigorously. "Ah gert merved up a greade!" she said, her mouth full. "Chew your food and then talk" reminded Rainbow, rolling her eyes. Scootaloo swallowed. "I got moved up a grade!" cheered Scootaloo. Rainbow's eyes widened. "No way! That's amazing squirt, I'm so proud of you" said Rainbow, ruffling Scootaloo's mane lovingly, "You're doing better than I did at school, at least" "But you were better at flying though" Scootaloo said, not wanting Dash to feel bad. "Yeah, I'm awesome. But enough about me, we need to celebrate!" yelled Rainbow, excitedly flying and knocking a glass over, "Oops" "Wow, thanks Rainbow Dash" said Scootaloo, "Where are we going to go?" Rainbow thought, "Have you been to Manehattan kid?" Scootaloo shook her head. "Well then, the Wonderbolts have a show this weekend for the anniversary of the founding of Manehattan. I could take you there, we can go and explore the city as well?" offered Rainbow Dash. Scootaloo gasped, "Oh my gosh, that sounds amazing! But, weren't the tickets sold out?" Rainbow Dash flew back down, and snorted, "Scoots, you forgot I'm part of the Wonderbolts, I'm performing with them!" "Oh, yeah" said Scootaloo, rubbing her neck sheepishly. Rainbow Dash led Scootaloo to the attic. "Anything else happen at school?" asked Rainbow, diving into a box and throwing clothes and hats around, "Sorry, trying to find you my dress from graduation, so you can wear that tonight" "I was trying to help Rumble with his cutie mark, the one who always won 'Student of the Year'" said Scootaloo, remebering the afternoon's fiasco. "Oh right! Thunderlane's brother, the nerd" Dash chuckled from inside the box, then poking her head out, as Scootaloo blushed, "Did you just blush?" Scootaloo hurridly shook her head, "No- uh-" Rainbow Dash looked at her sternly, "Scootaloo, colts are trouble, stay away from them. Was he in the Clubhouse?" "Well yeah, but-" "Oh come on! What did I tell you about staying away from colts, especially liking them at your age, no!" she said firmly. Scootaloo's ears drooped, as she looked down. Rainbow Dash sighed, lifting Scootaloo's face up, "Look, I'm only saying because I love you, and I don't want any colts ruining things" Scootaloo raised an eyebrow, "What about Soarin?" "Soarin and I are not!" protested Rainbow Dash. Scootaloo looked at her, amused. "Fine, we're dating. But we're old enough. Besides you know what a goofball Soarin is don't ya? You don't want someone like him" laughed Rainbow Dash, as Scootaloo joined in. "So, you better get packing for Manehattan squirt" suggested Rainbow, "But before you do, don't forget to-" But Scootaloo had already ran off. "Take your dress?" The music roared as the fillies and colts from the CMC's class danced and celebrated at the graduation. Applejack sniffed tearily, watching Applebloom dancing with her friends, "Mah Applebloom's growin' up so fast!" And wiped her tears with Rainbow's tail, as Rainbow Dash quickly yanked it away. "Wow Crusaders, today is the best day ever!" said Sweetie, hugging her friends, "I love you girls" "Eww, cut off the mushy stuff and party" yelled Scootaloo, breaking free of the hug and dancing wildly. Applebloom pointed to Rumble, who was sitting alone in the corner. "Anypony else feel guilty 'bout Rumble?" she asked, as the others nodded. Miss Cheerilee ran onto the stage, and everypony cheered even louder. "Goodevening everypony! Today is a wonderful day, and three of our most hardworking students will be grauating today" she said,as the crowds chanted the CMC's names. "Could I please have Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo come on up?" The three fillies scrambled on stage. "Um, am I the only one who's feeling nervous?" whispered Sweetie. "Please congratulate our graduating students" announced Cheerilee, handing them the award and medal. Out of the corner of her eye, Scooloo spotted Rumble flying away from the party. Quickly excusing herself, Scootaloo followed Rumble to the edge of the Everfree Forest. "Rumble, stop!" called Scootaloo. Rumble swiveled around. "What do you want?" snarled Rumble, eyes brimming with tears, "My years of hard work ruined because of you three" Scootaloo moaned, "For the last time, we didn't do anything" "Well, who was the one always celebrated? You. Who did the most work though? Me" hissed Rumble, as Scootaloo stepped back, afraid of the seething grey colt. "Rumble calm down. You don't realize how special you are. But I know, you are amazing" said Scootaloo, confidence flowing through her as she stepped closer. "Really?" asked Rumble, tears slowing falling, inching closer to her. "Yes" breathed Scootaloo, feeling Rumble's breath, his warmth, about to kiss him. As the pair leaned in, a cyan mare lunged between them. "Hey guys" exclaimed Rainbow Dash, jumping out of a bush. "Rainbow Dash?" they said in unison. "Yeah me. Now hurry along Scoots, the CMC need you" said Rainbow, throwing her to the corner. Making sure Scootaloo had gone, Rainbow Dash growled at Rumble. "Listen here Rungle-" said Rainbow "Rumble" corrected Rumble. "Whatever. I want you to stay away from my little Scootaloo, understand? If I catch you trying to get close to her again, I'll-" Rainbow stopped, thinking of what to say, "Do something I'll regret, get me?" "Yes m'am" said Rumble, quivering, as Rainbow flew off. Author's Note Hope you enjoy this next chapter! Like, comment and have fun! And don't worry, Rainbow Dash is not a villain, just overprotective! //-------------------------------------------------------// -Chapter 3- //-------------------------------------------------------// -Chapter 3- Scootaloo found herself tumbling back towards the party downhill, and landed with a thud. Two fillies' smiling faces emerged above her. "Scootaloo, where were you?" asked Sweetie Belle, helping her up. Scootaloo looked around her, buzzing her wings anxiously. "Um, where's Rumble?" she asked. "Weren't you just with him?" asked Applebloom. "No, I mean, I was, but Rainbow Dash came in at an-" Scootaloo coughed, "Inappropriate moment, and she told me you two had to talk to me, and I guess, threw me over here" Sweetie and Applebloom exchanged a look. "We didn't need to talk to you. I mean, nothing specifically" said Sweeite. Scootaloo scratched her head, "So you're saying you didn't need to talk?" The two shook their heads in unison. "But does that mean Rainbow Dash was- lying to me? Why would she do that?" Scootaloo asked to herself, hurt and pain in her voice. As if on cue, Rainbow Dash trotted back to the party, glancing around nervously. Scootaloo took a deep breath in, and went to her. "Um, Rainbow Dash?" called Scootaloo. Rainbow turned around. "Scootaloo! So, enjoying the party, huh?" she said casually. "What were you talking to Rumble about?" said Scootaloo bluntly. Rainbow's face turned to panic, as she sweated nervously. "Oh! Just Wonderbolt stuff" Rainbow said, smiling over-enthusiastically. Scootaloo raised an eyebrow. "Really, I was!" defended Rainbow, then sighing, "Look, nothing you need to worry about" Leaving it at that, Scootaloo turned to leave. "Wait a second!" stopped Rainbow, strict look, and flying towards her, "What were you doing with Rumble?" Scootaloo blushed, "Oh, um, just talking" Rainbow looked at her firmly, "Really?" "Yes indeedy" said Scootaloo, stepping backwards, as Rainbow inched forward. "Okie dokie lokie" said Rainbow Dash hesitantly, flying back towards Rarity and Applejack. Scootaloo sighed with relief, closing her eyes, opening them to see Rainbow nose-to-nose, glaring. Quickly dashing away, Scootaloo spotted the Crusaders. "Ah, Scoots. Ya came at the prefect moment" said Applebloom, sharing an evil grin with Sweetie. "What do you mean?" said Scootaloo, body stiff, tense. "OMG! You are Rumble are sooooo an item!" squealed Sweetie Belle. Applebloom facehoofed. "We were meant to build up tension, and then interrogate 'er" growled Applebloom, as Sweetie sheepishly blushed. Scootaloo rolled her eyes. "I do not like Rumble!" protested Scootaloo. “No point denyin’ it. Sweetie and I heard you two were near the Everfree forest. Alone!” mocked Applebloom. "Fine. I like him. But its not like he'll like me back" sighed Scootaloo. "You never know" said Sweetie, a gleam in her eye. Rumble paced around his room, as Button calmly sipped his apple juice. "I almost kissed her! And then THE Rainbow Dash talked to me!" Rumble blabbered on, as Button rolled his eyes. "Dude, relax. First of all, almost kissing her is great. Second, you 'idol;ruined your kiss with your crush" Button reasoned, eyes scanning his friend's room, which was filled with Rainbow Dash posters and merchandise. Rumble was a very huge Rainbow Dash fan, her being such a great flyer, and he wanted to become just like her when he grew up. He was the co-president of the Rainbow Dash Club, but never liked to admit it in public, because idolizing a mare was 'uncool' in his group of friends. Rumble's face darkened, "I know, and she told me to 'Stay away from my Scootaloo'" making his voice high and squeaky at the end. Button Mash laughed hysterically, throwing aside his apple juice. "Oh man! You should see your face right now, priceless" choked Button. "What's so funny?" "The fact that your favourite two mares are the ones causing your problems" chuckled Button. "Fine. If you're so smart, give me an idea" growled Rumble. Button Mash took another sip of his juice. "How about- asking her out?" suggested Button. "You just signed my death warrant for Rainbow Dash to kill me, how am I gonna without her finding out?" asked Rumble. Button snorted, "Easy, just leave it to me" Rumble nervously glancd at him, "Are you sure?" "Positive" "Deal?" "Definitely a deal" The school bell rang as class was dismissed. The CMC gathered around a table. "Okay Crusaders, today's mission is: getting Scootaloo a date with Rumble" exclaimed Applebloom. "Yeah, sounds go- Wait, WHAT?" shrieked Scootaloo. Sweetie clamped her hoof over Scootaloo's mouth. "Shh! There he comes" whispered Sweetie, as Applebloom and her started pushing Scootaloo towards Rumble. Button and Rumble spotted them. "Okay, now let me handle this" said Button, also pushing Rumble towards Scootaloo, "Hey Scootaloo, Rumble has something very important to tell you" "Funny? Scootaloo has urgent dilemma and needs to talk to Rumble" Sweetie said, "Banana blueberry chocolate waffles" Winking at each other, Button and Sweetie ran off, and it seemed like everypony vanished along with them, leaving the courtyard deserted. "Should we talk somewhere private?" asked Scootaloo, leading him towards the Foal Free Press' office. Clambering down, they pulled a chair and table, and took a seat. "So- Rainbow Dash is your mom?" said Rumble, excitement rising up into his voice. "I don't know, big sister, mom, not sure. But we're really close" added Scootaloo, "Hey, you're the co-president of the Rainbow Dash Fan Club as well, right?" Rumble nodded happily, "Yeah! But, colts my age think its 'uncool' to idolize a mare, even if it is someone as awesome as Dash" "Well, you should stick to what you love" Rumble was partly thinking about his idol, but also Scootaloo at the same time, "Yeah, you're right" Confidence surging into him, he took a deep breath, "Scootaloo, wanna come over to Hoof Restaurant with me this weekend?" Scootaloo gasped, "Wow! Sounds amazing? 6:30 is okay?" With a quick nod, the two parted ways, both of them in shock of how it turned out. Scootaloo burst into the Clubhouse. "Rumble's going on a date with me this weekend!!" she screamed. The crusaders hugged and jumped around, happy for their friend. "Sweetie, how were you able to get the whole class to leave?" asked Scootaloo, curious. "Well, I had some connections, and we were able to organise a secret party at Town Hall, and the code words were 'Banana blueberry chocolate waffles'" explained Sweetie. "Oh! You girls are the best!" said Scootaloo, giving them a hug. Author's Note "You never know" said Sweetie, a gleam in her eye. This is Sweetie's mind reading skills and telepathy XD Keep an eye out for more 'Sweetie Belle is physic' moments! Enjoy, and thanks for now dislikes yet everyone! Hope you like it! //-------------------------------------------------------// -Chapter 4- //-------------------------------------------------------// -Chapter 4- Rumble combed his hair for what seemed like the billionth time to Button Mash. Checking himself in the mirror again, Rumble stood there, critiquing himself. "Maybe she won't like the hairstyle" he mumbled. Button rolled his eyes. "It's just a date" Rumble's eyes widened, "Just a date? I need to make this absolutely perfect, and you're saying its just a date" Button Mash ducked underneath the bed sheets, trembling, "Uh, yes?" A huge yell erupted from the quiet part of Ponyville, as the small grey pegasus started screaming at his friend. "Rumble, can you keep it down? I'm trying to relax here?" said Thunderlane, headphones on his ears. Rumble chuckled sheepishly. "Oh, sorry" Thunderlane scanned his little brother's fancy getup, "Where are you going looking so fancy?" Before Rumble could respond, Button pushed him over, "Oh, he's going on a date with Scootaloo" said Button, grinning mischievously as he saw Rumble's terrified expression. Instead of getting mad, Thunderlane laughed. "Good luck. Though I wouldn't choose Scootaloo though" warned Thunderlane. "What do you mean?" "With a mare like Rainbow Dash as a guardian, its going to be rough seas ahead" Rumble mock saluted, "Aye aye captain" Inside, he was shivering with fear. Scootaloo fixed up the barrette in her hair, as Sweetie Belle and Applebloom worked on secured the ribbon on her dress. "Wow, Scootaloo, you look amazing" said Sweetie, in awe of the filly in turquoise dress with purple lace and frill around the lace, "I can tell Rumble is going to literally fall in love with you" "That sure is a precise prediction Sweetie Belle" said Applebloom. "What can I say, it's how I roll" smirked Sweetie, as Scootaloo ran to the mirror to make sure everything was perfect. "I'm stating to regret this idea Crusaders" groaned Scootaloo, pulling a blanket from her bed and covering it over her face. "You have to go" insisted Applebloom, as Sweetie lifted the blankets with her magic. "Yeah, plus I CAN'T WAIT TO ATTEND THE-" yelled Sweetie, but seeing her friends expression, lowered her voice, "Wedding?" A bang came downstairs from the kitchen. "Scoots, everything fine up there?" came Rainbow Dash's voice. Scootaloo grimaced. "Um, yep, fine!" called Scootaloo, then turned to her friends, "I gotta go before Rainbow finds out where I'm going" The Crusaders nodded, and dropped a rope made of clothes tie together, and gently lowered Scootaloo down. Giving her friends a quick smile, she scrambled toward town, heading to Hoof Restaurant. Applebloom and Sweetie Belle sighed with relief, as the door burst open. "Hey Crusaders, everything-" Rainbow Dash stopped mid-sentence, not spotting Scootaloo "Where's Scootaloo?" Applebloom and Sweetie winced, as Applebloom spoke up, "Oh, uh, she was just-" "Gone to help at Sweet Apple Acres" saved Sweetie. Rainbow glanced at the clock above. "This late?" Applebloom's face turned to panc, "Um, Applejack said it was last minute?" "Then why couldn't you help out? Or AJ's other friends?" urged Rainbow. Sweetie Belle broke into nervous sweat. "I wish I could answer all these questions, but we have to go. Its getting late" said Sweetie, pushing Applebloom out the door. Before Rainbow could come up with another question, they bolted away. Rainbow Dash scratched her head, shrugged and went back to making dinner. Scootaloo soon found herself in the bustling Hoof Restaurant, looking for Rumble. Spotting a grey pegasus, she ran towards him, beaming ear to ear. "Hi Rumble" she said, waving to him. Rumble's jaw dropped as he saw Scootaloo, amazed by how she looked. Wanting to seem polite, Rumble got out of his seat to offer her one, but he must have been so distracted, he fell flat on his face. Wincing, he got up and moaned, quickly offering Scootaloo a chair. "You look beautiful" said Rumble, not taking his eyes away from her. "Thanks. You look amazing too" she blushed. The pair talked for a bit as the waitress arrived. Rumble and Scootaloo scanned their menus, and found the dish they wanted. "I'll have a hay salad with french dressing" said Scootaloo. "I'll have the same she's having" explained Rumble, as the waitress smiled and walked away. Scootaloo stared at Rumble. "Why did you order the same as me?" "I trust your judgement. I mean, if your taste in clothes is that good, I'm assuming its the same for food" complimented Rumble, giving a devilish smirk. Scootaloo giggled and gave him a playful nudge, as Rumble blushed. Soon their food arrived as they began eating, talking about school, and friends. "Are all your friends crazy?" laughed Scootaloo. "Who, Button? He's a gaming addict, but he's a good guy" replied Rumble. "Aww, that's so sweet" said Scootaloo, as Rumble rolled his eyes. "But then he starts to just get on your nerves" The pair burst out laughing, as the waitress arrived once again to take their dessert order. Little did they know something catastrophic was about to happen to them soon... Rainbow Dash looked at the clock on the wall, face full of worry. As the clock struck nine, Rainbow had enough, and flew out the door. The streets were quiet and isolated, expect for the restaurant corner, which was filled with music, laughter and celebration as always. Dashing to Sweet Apple Acres, Rainbow burst into the barn, and saw Applejack eating dinner. "Hey AJ, I know you needed Scootaloo's help, but its getting late" said Rainbow, pointing at the clock. Applejack shared a confused look with Granny Smith. "Ah didn't need Scoots help. She didn't come to our place either" said Applejack, as Granny nodded. Rainbow's eyes widened, as she started zipping around the room. "Where could she be at this time" said Rainbow, panic rising onto her face. As she bolted out onto the streets, she yelled Scootaloo's name, stopping by and asking ponies if they had seen her. All of a sudden, she swiveled around, to see an orange pegasus filly- Scootaloo! Flying towards restaurant corner. Slowly trotting into the loud and fun room, she saw Scootaloo sitting with- Rumble! From panic, Rainbow lit up with fury, as her mind lost control of all sense, as she fumed, and walked over to the table to duo was sitting on... Author's Note Back with another chapter! Signing out 'till nex time -mlpficforever //-------------------------------------------------------// -Chapter 5- //-------------------------------------------------------// -Chapter 5- "Wow, I can't believe you did a stunt like that" said Rumble, dreamily gazing at Scootaloo. Scootaloo took a sip of her drink. "Well, Rainbow Dash helped me learn it, so I can't take all the credit" added Scootaloo, as Rumble winced at the mention of Rainbow Dash. Inside, he was no doubt surprised Rainbow Dash taught a stunt like that, but right now, Rainbow Dash wasn't too fond of him, so best to keep her out of the conversation. "Oh, look here comes desert" pointed Rumble, happy of the timing. Scootaloo smiled and thanks the waitress, and began to eat. Her face lit up with joy as she took the first bite. "Woah, its really sweet, just the way I like it!" she grinned, shoving another bite in. "Compared to how sweet you are, its nothing" said Rumble, happy with his line. "Aw, thanks. You mean it?" asked Scootaloo, leaning closer. "Yes" breathed Rumble, also leaning for a kiss. As the came closer, a loud bang caused them to open their eyes, as they saw a livid cyan mare flying above their table. Before they could do anything, Rainbow Dash charged towards Rumble. "I thought I told you to stay away from her!" yelled Rainbow, causing the other couples to stare. Rumble broke into nervous sweat, eyes darting around. "I-I-" Rumble was lost for words. "Rainbow, listen-" started Scootaloo, racing forward to defend Rumble. "You stay out of this" shouted Rainbow, "What were you thinking?" "I really like him, okay?" screamed Scootaloo, blushing furiously. Rumble and Rainbow Dash froze to stare at her. Rainbow's face hardened to steel. "Fine. You can go choose him over me, see if I care" snarled Rainbow Dash. "No, that's not-" "You know what Scootaloo? Forget it. I want you to be happy, and if being with him makes you happier, even if it means I have to loose you, I won't stop you from that happiness" said Rainbow Dash, flying towards the door, hot tears streaking her face. Scootaloo ran out after her, but by the time she went out, Rainbow Dash was long gone. Scootaloo whimpered softly into a cloud above Ponyville, sobbing quietly. How did she get up there? She attached a ladder to the cloud, and quickly threw away the ladder. Since she was a pegasus after all, she might as well use some of her ability. Still deep in her cloud, she felt a soft thud next to her. She expected to see Fluttershy or Twilight, but instead, it was a light blue pegasus colt with striking nave blue mane. "Mister Soarin?" asked Scootaloo, wiping her tears. "Scootaloo, how many times have I told you, just Soarin" said Soarin, ruffling her mane, "Why aren't you at home?" "Well, you see-" Scootaloo didn't know how to put it, and started crying hysterically, "I like this colt and Rainbow Dash doesn't want me to, and she got mad at me when she found out we went on a date, and I said I really liked him, and she got furious and said 'I want you to be happy, so go ahead, choose him over me' But that wasn't what I meant and-" Scootaloo took a deep breath, "Long story short- I messed up" Soarin wrapped his wing around the filly, "Scootaloo, let me tell you a very interesting story today" He coughed, and began, "Once, when I was just your age as well, I started liking a filly; beautiful, fearless, brave, loyal" "Rainbow Dash!" cheered Scootaloo. Soarin laughed, "Yeah, her. So I used to get tongue-tied near her, blush constantly, and was very shy. One day, I drove up the courage to ask her out. But she refused" Scootaloo's faced turned to confusion, "What?" "Yes, she said that it would get in the way of her flying, and she was to embarrassed to be seen in public with a colt. Of course, I was devestated by it, and funny enough, Rainbow came to me a week later, and wanted to go out with me. Guess my charm really worked" smirked Soarin, as Scootaloo giggled. "So we went out, had a great night. And then all of a sudden, Fluttershy came out of nowhere, and started chewing me out, sort of like Rainbow did today" "Fluttershy?" Soarin nodded, "She may seem shy, but she is super protective over her friends. And then Rainbow stood up for me, and the two had a big falling out. In fact, they became friends again, but Rainbow pretended she wasn't dating me. When she became a Wonderbolt, the media ponies caught us, and Fluttershy found out. She forgave Dash, and we're friends now, so it ended well" "Woah, that is amazing" said Scootaloo. Soarin chuckled. "I learnt a life long lesson, and so did Rainbow: stand up for what you believe, and believe in your heart, mind and soul. What are they telling you now?" Scootaloo thought for a bit, "Well, I want to be with Rumble, but I don't want to loose Rainbow Dash in the process" "No problem, I can convince Rainbow, easy as pie" smiled Soarin. "Soarin, you love pies, and say they are 'complicated at us ponies'" laughed Scootaloo. "We'll make an exception just this once. Plus I'm hungry for a delicious apple pie" said Soarin, licking his lips, and helping Scootaloo down from the cloud. "Thanks Soarin, you're the best!" exclaimed Scootaloo, hugging Soarin and catching him off guard, as the two headed off to grab some pie. Rainbow Dash lay uncomfortably on her sofa, still shocked by the recent events. Did she go too hard on Scootaloo? She was still young after all. Getting up, her mind started racing, as she paniced. Scootaloo could be anywhere, because of her stupidness! Punching the pillow, she curled back into a ball. The door opened as Soarin trotted in. Rainbow lifted her head, expecting Scootaloo. "Oh, its only you" Soarin frowned, "Hey, how about some love? He snuggled up next to Rainbow, "Don't worry, I know where Scoots it" Rainbow Dash's face lit up as she bounced across the room, "Really? Where is she?" "Let's talk about what you did" said Soarin, pulling his marefriend's tail, bringing her back onto the ground. Rainbow Dash gulped nervously. How badly could she have overreacted after all? Author's Note I'm surprised by how consistant this story is being updated, I usually give up after 3 chapters :rainbowlaugh: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/rainbowlaugh.png Anyway, OMG YOU GUYS DIDN'T LEAVE A DOWNVOTE YAY AND 16 UPVOTES, IS A HIGH SCORE!! :yay: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/yay.png :twilightblush: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/twilightblush.png Done with the excitement. Until next chapter, ~mlpficsforever //-------------------------------------------------------// -Chapter 6- //-------------------------------------------------------// -Chapter 6- “So let’s talk about how you were to Scootaloo” said Soarin, glaring at Rainbow. Rainbow Dash opened her mouth to say something, but then sighed, closing her mouth. “You’re right, there’s no excuse for what I did” said Rainbow looking down. “I understand you want Scootaloo to remain your little filly, but she’s growing up, and sometimes, you won’t be the only one for her” said Soarin, raising her face with his wing. Rainbow Dash closed her eyes, hots tears leaking out of her magenta eyes. “I don’t want to loose her, I just want her to not go through the pain with her family again” sobbed Rainbow, as Soarin wrapped his wings around her. “I know, but she needs to grow up” reasoned Soarin, “And Rumble seems like a good kid. And you won’t believe something about him” “What?” “He’s one of your biggest fans, and the co-president of your fanclub, but doesn’t want to admit it in public” said Soarin, smiling. “Really?” said Rainbow, heart sinking. “Yeah” replied Soarin. “Oh man! I totally got mad at one of my fans, and you know how much I hate letting my fans down” moaned Rainbow, sticking her head into a pillow. “Maybe you can fix that now” suggested Soairn. Rumble slowly trotted towards his home, as a loud cough interupted him. Turning around, Rumble saw a cyan pegasus looking upset. "I-I-'m sorr-ry" stuttered Rumble. "No, I'm sorry. I loved having Scootaloo as a little filly" said Rainbow, tears brimming in her eyes, "Its hard for me to let that go" "Its totally okay-" started Rumble. "I need to thank you Rumble. You've made my little Scootaloo smile like she hasn't done in years. I may not want her to grow up, but I don't want take her happiness away" said Rainbow, tearfully smiling. Rumble stared at her, jaw dropped. Rainbow chuckled, "So- I heard you were one of my biggest fans huh? How about I get to know you a little better?" asked Rainbow, extending a hoof. Rumble excitedly flitted his wings, doing flipping loops in the air, and then embracing Rainbow Dash. Her eyes widened as the grey colt hugged her, and she smiled, hugging back. Soarin had seen the whole event, and nodded approvingly towards Rainbow Dash, as she noticed him and flashed a grin. Scootaloo paced around the Cutie Mark Crusaders Clubhouse, as her friends tried to calm her down. "This is horrible! Rainbow must be so mad" fretted Scootaloo. "Don't worry, she's probably forgiven you by now" reassured Sweetie. "She must have also gone and talked to Rumble. I don't want to know how that turns out" shivered Scootaloo. "I bet those to are flying around like friends, having fun, not fighting" started Sweetie. "Rainbow Dash will never forgive me!" said Scootaloo, ignoring Sweetie. "Scootaloo, listen to us!" yelled Applebloom, "She's your sister, and she'll always be there for you. And if she doesn't, will I doubt, we'll be there for you" Scootaloo looked at her friends tearfully, "Thank you so much girls" The three hugged, and Sweetie Belle's eyes widened. "Um, guys?" said Sweeite, pointing out the window. Scootaloo and Applebloom joined her at the window, and peeked out. A cyan pegasus and a grey pegasus colt were flying above Ponyville, doing tricks and circles as they went. "Is that Rumble and Rainbow Dash- together?" asked Scootaloo. The CMC ran towards Ponyville, and raced towards Rumble and Rainbow. Looking up in the sky, she spotted them sitting down on a cloud, chatting. "Go, say somethin'" said Applebloom, nudging Scootaloo, the pegasus shook her head and trembled. Rolling her eyes, Applebloom shoved her out, as Scootaloo landed with a thud. Looking down, Rainbow Dash and Rumble paused, and glanced at each other. "Um, hey guys?" said Scootaloo, unsure. Rainbow lit up with a smile, racing over to Scootaloo, and hugging her as tightly as she could. "You scared me so much!" exclaimed Rainbow Dash, "Don't ever do that, and this was all my fault!" Scootaloo smiled as well, and hugged back, "I'm sorry, and it was my fault" "No it wasn't. I was the one who lost her temper, and a certain stallion helped me realize that everypony has to grow up. And I may be a bit overprotective" sighed Rainbow Dash. "A bit?" smirked Scootaloo, raising an eyebrow. "Okay, fine, a lot" admitted Rainbow, "But its only because I love you, and I don't want to see you go through pain again, and I just wanted you to stay the little Scootaloo I knew, and even though I'm not ready, I know you are" Rainbow Dash wiped her tears, giving a sad smile. Scootaloo didn't know what to say, "Not matter what happens, I'll alway be your little Scootaloo, and no colt can get in the way of that" "Speaking of colts" said Rainbow, ushering Rumble off the cloud, "Rumble and I were spending the day, and I think he's the right one for you" "Really?" "Well, he's one of my biggest fans, so that's fine by me" said Rainbow, grinning. Rumble anxiously trotted over to Scootaloo. "We never really got to finish off on that date, huh?" he asked, blushing nervously. Scootaloo blushed in return, "Yeah. What did you have in mind?" "The park, we could have a quiet stroll, get to know each other?" suggested Rumble. He offered his hoof, and Scootaloo took it, as the walked off into the sunset. Sweetie, Applebloom, and Rainbow Dash watched, as Soarin floated next to the trio. "How did it go?" he asked. "To be honest, It'll take some time for me to accept it. But if Scootaloo's happy, that's all that matters" confessed Rainbow Dash, not taking her eyes of the duo still walking off. "That's great. I know it hurts, but you'll get over it, I know you will" said Soarin. "Thanks Soarin" she said, resting her head against him. "No problem" he replied, "I guess all's well that ends well" THE END.......IS JUST THE BEGINNING Author's Note Hi everyone! Back with another chapter, bit of a delay, hope you don't mind! I won't have a sequel for this, because it wouldn't make sense, so think of the next chapters as a part two, if fact, I'll title them 'part two' Oh, and thanks once again for the no dislikes and 18 likes, it means sooooooooooo much to me!! If you could tell me how to keep it up, it would be greatly appreciated! And try to once again catch that #SweetieBelleisphysic reference :yay: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/yay.png //-------------------------------------------------------// -Part Two: Chapter 7- //-------------------------------------------------------// -Part Two: Chapter 7- Part Two Not mandatory to read the first part, but I strongly suggest so this makes sense. The school bell rang, and everypony burst out of the schoolhouse. Scootaloo was buzzing with excitement, since today was her (hopefully successful, unlike last time) date with Rumble! Rainbow Dash approved, so what could possibly go wrong? Scootaloo waved to the grey pegasus talking to Button. "I'll leave you two lovebirds to it" smirked Button, trotting off. Scootaloo blushed, and went closer to Rumble. "So Rumble, ready for our date?" asked Scootaloo, trying to keep excitement out of her voice. Rumble's eyes darted around nervously. "Well, I-" Rumble started, but grew a look of anger on his face, "I can't!" Scootaloo stepped back, hurt, "Why?" Rumble shook his head, sweating nervously, "Oh! I mean, uh, we can't go without grabbing some food while we walk" "Phew, you had me worried for nothing Rumble" laughed Scootaloo. "Yep. That's me" said Rumble quickly, "I'll see you later" Scootaloo stared at the nervous colt and pondered in confusion, "What's going on? Why is Rumble acting strangely?" She shook the thought out of her mind, and continued home. She forgot one thing as she went home. Her scooter! A baby pink earth pony and blue pegasus trotted towards the abandoned scooter. "Did you just see that Lofty?" asked the pink Earth pony. Aunt Lofty nodded. "Seems like Scootaloo got herself a coltfriend" said Aunt Lofty. "First she ran off to that irresponsible Rainbow Dash, and now this!" winced Aunt Holiday, "And now the whole town thinks we were bad to Scootaloo, which is why she moved in with Rainbow" "The truth is, Rainbow Dash took our Scootaloo away from us" sneered Aunt Lofty, "We've got to do something" "I've got it" exclaimed Aunt Holiday, "Rainbow Dash is the problem, right? So let's get rid of the problem" Lofty and Holiday shared a grin, and walked off, talking to themselves, and hiding off into an alley. Scootaloo raced into the living room once again, only to be met by the scowling face of a cyan pegasus. "Okay, we need to have a serious conversation" said Rainbow Dash, glancing at the tire marks on beloved wooden floors. She looked up to see Scootaloo had already gone, "Can that wait Dash? Help me pick something out for tonight" Rainbow rolled her eyes, and went over to help the filly. Scootaloo was deep beneath piles of hats, dresses, shoes, jewelry, digging through the stack. "Come on Dash, help me choose what to wear" yelled Scootloo, from somewhere inside the pile of clothes. Rainbow Dash threw the clothes around the room, trying to find Scootaloo, who she found in a hot pink hit, clashing green pants, blue sunglasses and a purple hat. Looking at the silly outfit Scootaloo was wearing, Rainbow Dash burst out laughing, rolling around in chokes. "You look fabulous Scoots" laughed Rainbow Dash, as Scootaloo shook the mismatched clothes of herself. "Okay, okay, no need to rub it in" grumbled Scootaloo, as the mare was still in a fit of laughter, "Now can you help me?" Rainbow Dash wiped her tears, "Yes, yes I can" Scootaloo admired herself one last time in the mirror. She was wearing a lovely royal purple dress, with pink ruffles, interacting stitching done at the base in golden thread. Scootaloo was looking wonderful, but one thing was still bothering her. "My hair is just-" Scootaloo groaned, trying to pull it back neatly, it springing forward in response, "So annoying! I want to make it longer!" "But short hair looks cool on you" reasoned Rainbow, a comb flying towards her. "Whatever. Can I get it at least a little bit longer?" begged Scootaloo, finally giving up. Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes, "Fine. Now go, you're gonna be late" Scootaloo nodded, as Rainbow hugged her, and she left. Scootaloo found herself in a bustling restaurant, but with fillies and colts. Button Mash, being the romantic of the class, and Sweetie Belle, got enough signatures on their petition to open up a restaurant just for colts and fillies of the Ponyville Schoolhouse to go to. It was filled with young couples and groups of friends, and Scootaloo spotted Rumble sitting on a table for two. "Hi Scootaloo" said Rumble glumly, as Scootaloo excitedly took a seat. "Hey Rumble, you seem down?" asked Scootaloo, worried, "Do you wanna talk about it?" Rumble looked down, "Well-" "I know what it is!" interupted Scootaloo, "Its that there are no hay fries, and you love those?" "But that's not-" "I know you miss Button, but its still fun" Scootaloo piped in, as Rumble rolled his eyes. "Listen-" "I miss the crusaders all the time" blabbered Scootaloo, as Rumble growled, firece anger on his face. "Just here me out!" yelled Rumble, as Scootaloo's ears lowered, "I don't wanna be your coltfriend or whatever you're expecting!" Scootaloo's eyes glistened with tears, "Why? What did I do?" "You didn't! Its just that, we're to young" lied Rumble. Scootaloo glared at him, "We're sixteen, that's old enough. I know its something else that's bothering you, please tell me" Rumble closed his eyes, gritting his teeth, "I-I-I" "Well?" "THIS WHOLE THING HAS JUST TURNED OUT BADLY!" Rumble screamed. Scootaloo's heart was racing, "What?" He took a deep breath, "Look, I do want to be with you. But this whole 'relationship' of ours had just turned out really horribly" "No it hasn't" said Scootaloo, as Rumble stopped her. "It has. I was unsure about dating someone with a strong personality like you. And I've been let dolwn in the past as well" sighed Rumble, "And what happened with Dash just made me even more unsure, and I just-can't" Hot tears were streaming down Scootaloo's face by now, "Fine. I get it, you don't want to be seen with someone like me" She ran out, in tears, as Rumble felt his heart drop, his own eyes tearing up. Rainbow Dash hummed to herself, sweeping the house, when a sobbing Scootaloo burst in, her heels messing up the floors once again, but this time, Rainbow was too concerned to care. "Scootaloo, what's wrong?" she asked, hugginng her, as the filly sobbed uncontrollably. "Rumble-" started Scootaloo. Rainbow became livid, growling. "What did he do!" "He said he didn't want to date, because he couldn't deal with stress, and he was nervous, and after everything the happened with you, he's even more nervous" sobbed Scootaloo, "But I know its me! He doesn't like me!" Rainbow's mind fired up with anger. That Rumble made her Scoots cry? Oh he'd pay for it. "It's my fault. I shouldn't have" Rainbow coughed, "Overreacted. But don't worry, he's not worth it" Scootaloo didn't look up from hugging Rainbow, as Rainbow's gears turned on how to make sure Rumble learnt his lesson Author's Note Yes! Holiday sat down onto a bright pink couch. "This place is cosy" said Holiday, glancing around the place. Lofty rolled her eyes, "Let's not get too cosy, we want to grab Scootaloo, and go" Holiday sighed, stroking the pillow, "As much as I don't like this new coltfriend of Scootaloo's, I'm glad she's happy" Lofty nodded, and pulled out food from the freezer, "We'll have to deal with it, I guess. Sour cream or sweet chilli sauce?" Holiday though, "Sweet chilli sauce, its sweet, and sometimes spicy, like you" She winked. "Is that a compliment?" asked Lofty, raising an eyebrow. "Yes. Now how are you going to figure to bring Scootaloo back?" asked Holiday. "I thought-" started Lofty, as Holiday bounded up with an answer. "Oh! We capture Rainbow Dash, and threaten Scootaloo to kill her unless she comes with us" grinned Holiday, and mad smile spreading across her face. Lofty face-hoofed, "No you crazy mare! We convince Scootaloo that Rainbow Dash is ruining her life" "How?" Lofty paused, to think, "We need to find out more about them" "That's seems stalkerish" commented Holiday, as Lofty waved a hoof dismissivly. "It's what need to be done to get our little Scootaloo back" "If you say so" replied Holiday hesitantly. Rainbow Dash stormed out the house, vibrating with anger. Scootaloo's face lit up with anxiety, as she ran after the cyan mare. "Its no big deal" reasoned Scootaloo. Rainbow Dash continued trotting without looking at Scootaloo. "I gave him a chance, and trusted him. And he's broken that trust, and he'll pay" growled Rainbow Dash, as Scootaloo looked around in panic. "But we can't force him to like me!" "No, but he shouldn't have gotten your hopes up, nearly kissing, and making you fall in love" said Rainbow, turning to Scootaloo. She stopped in her tracks, "Its all part of his plan!" Scootaloo shook her head in confusion, "Wait, what? What plan?" Rainbow Dash started flying, lifting herself off the ground, "Don't you see? He made you like him, and then broke your heart! He probably does that with all the mares he's put hopes up" "But he's never dated before" urged Scootaloo. "Scoots, I'm older, I've seen more, and know what kind of games colts like him are up to. Playing with hearts, and disposing them when he gets bored" argued Rainbow Dash, "I don't have time. I need to go" Rainbow took off into the night. Its like Luna made it beautiful for our date, and then clouded the skies after everything thought Scootaloo, looking into the now dark and clouded sky, which was lit up with stars like diamonds in the sky. Glancing at her wings, Scootaloo looked up to where Rainbow Dash was. What kind of pegasus can't fly? And with a mare like Rainbow Dash as a guardian, it just puts on more pressure. Scootaloo turned towards home to see- Aunt Holiday and Aunt Lofty? Scootaloo ran towards them tackling them into a hug them and sobbing softly. The mares looked at each other, concerned. They weren't really experts on making people feel better, but for Scootaloo, it was worth a shot. "There there. Its okay, let it all out" consoled Lofty. Scootaloo looked up, face still wet with tears, but smiling. "Where did you two go? Its been-" Scootaloo thought for a moment, "A really long time!" ”Well, we weren't really wan-" started Holiday, but Lofty kicked her, "Ouch!" "What she means to say is we didn't think you need us anymore" said Lofty, mocking sadness, as Holiday nodded. Scootaloo looked between her Aunts, "I'm sorry. I wasted time with the wrong ponies. I'm coming with you" Aunt Lofty covered her mouth. She was really pulling out the dramatics, "Is okay, stay with Ms Dash" Scootaloo looked down at the ground, "I'm better off with you. Forget the paperwork" Holiday grinned, "Great! I made some delicious pasta!" Lofty grimaced, "Perhaps we should go out for dinner" Scootaloo looked hesitant for a moment, but then quickly nodded. Rainbow Dash was speeding over to the restaurant near the Schoolhouse, a determined and angry expression on her face. Soarin spotted her from over a cloud, and seeing his marefriend's face, he immediately knew something was wrong. Very wrong. "Hey, Dash, where ya going?" asked Soarin, nervously floating to Rainbow Dash, as she continued. "To confront that-" Rainbow couldn't even utter his name. Soarin's eyes widened with fear. "Um, how 'bout you calm down, take a deep breath, and-" started Soarin. Rainbow turned o him angrily. "Are you with me or not?" Soarin thought what Rainbow would do if he didn't side with her. But on the other hoof, he thought about what Scootaloo would go through if he left Rainbow Dash continue. "No" Rainbow Dash swiveled around, glare pinned on her face, "What did you say?" Soarin's face remained firm, "I said no. I won't let you ruin any foal's life, because they don't accept your filly. It isn't right. How would you feel if Thunderlane came to Scootaloo, and got totally mad at her for not liking Rumble?" Rainbow Dash's ears flattened, "I- I- I'm sorry. I didn't- I just-" She sighed, "I just don't know what came over me" Soarin nodded, "Good, now you can go home to Scootaloo and apologise" Rainbow Dash blushed, "Oh, yeah..." Bamn The door slammed open as Rainbow Dash trotted in excitedly. Grinning, she flew throughout the house, "Uh, where are ya squirt?" Silence echoed through the house, as Rainbow threw apart the sofa's pillows trying to find the filly. "If this is some kind of joke, I'm not finding it very funny!" shrieked Rainbow Dash. She took a deep breath in, "Please?" No response came. Rainbow was frantic by now, and dashing into Scootaloo's room again, and her eyes widened as she saw a note pinned to the door. Dear Rainbow Dash, I'm leaving for good, I guess living with you is too much to live up to. I enjoyed, but I gotta go. Sorry, can't explain why I'm going, and I won't tell you where I'm going, so don't try to find me, and I hope you continue being awesome. Love, Scootaloo "WHAT!?!?" Author's Note Its been a while yeah, but I'm back in this updating system, so more coming soon! Hope you enjoy!!! //-------------------------------------------------------// -Chapter 9- //-------------------------------------------------------// -Chapter 9- Hot tears streamed down from the cyan mare's face as she tried to comprehend what had just happened. Scootaloo was...gone? Where did she go? She could be anywhere! Rainbow's mind was turning gears trying to come up with more and more problems. What if she got kidnapped? What if she became a beggar, those poor children who barely have anything to eat? What if she... Rainbow Dash shook that thought out of her mind. Scootaloo would never do that. She wasn't like that, she wouldn't let such a small thing get her down. Or would she? The door burst open as Soarin trotted in, beaming, "All went well I'm assuming?" Seeing Rainbow Dash's face, he stopped smiling, and sat by her, "Hey...what's wrong?" Rainbow Dash hastily wiped her tears, "Nothing" "Really?" Soarin raised an eyebrow. Rainbow Dash sighed, and silently passed Soarin the letter. As his eyes skimmed over the letter, his expression turned to sadness, and then shock. "Wait, WHAT?!" Soarin shrieked, chucking the paper aside, "What did you do this time?" Glaring at her coltfriend's look of frustration, Rainbow defended herself, "I- I didn't do anything wrong!" "Yeah right" Soarin rolled his eyes, as Rainbow stared at him in disbelief. He turned around, ready to leave. "Could you believe in me for once?" Soarin swiveled around. "Really? Since the first day I met you, I blindly trusted you in every. Little. Minuscule. Thing" Soarin spat. Rainbow didn't respond, turning away. She opened her mouth to say something, but stopped midway, stomping her hoof, "Argh! WHY DID I EVER CHOOSE YOU!?" Soarin flinched, but kept his glare steady, "You know what? I am- done, with you Rainbow Dash. Its all about you! What about Scootaloo? Rumble? ME?" "I've always-" started Rainbow. "If you can't handle one filly, I'll hate to see the damage you'd do to your own foal" growled Soarin, slamming the door shut behind him, leaving Rainbow cold, alone, and in the dark. Scootaloo fiddled with her fork uneasily, spinning spaghetti around the tines. Too many thoughts were on her mind, it was hard to concentrate. Aunt Lofty nudged Holiday softly. "Scootaloo, dear, eat up, we're gonna have ice-cream later!" Aunt Holiday encouraged. Scootaloo nodded, and slowly nibbled at the food. "It's going to be June soon, the year is flying by, I can't wait for full summer!" said Aunt Lofty, trying to engage in a conversation with Scootaloo. Scootaloo shrugged, "I guess" "Are you sure you're okay?" "I dunno" Lofty and Holiday shared a look, "Is thjs about Miss Dash?" "Maybe. I'm not sure anymore. Do you think she's worried?" asked Scootaloo, gazing up at her Aunts. "Not at all. I hate to say this, but that mare has too much of a temper, she can't control a delicate little filly like you who's been through so much" explained Aunt Holiday. "Yes, and I really am happy with you two. Now...how about some ice-cream?" Scootaloo said, faking cheeriness, and plastering on a fake smile. The Aunts nodded, as the trotted out underneath the starry night Luna made. The trio bought ice-cream, chatted, and returned home. Tucking Scootaloo in for bead, Aunt Lofty left, switching the lights off. Eyelids feeling heavy, Scootaloo tried to concentrate on positive things. She'd heard Manehattan was a really nice place to go, and she could meet up with Babs Seed. But the thought of leaving Ponyville and the CMC made her sick to her stomach. Mind wandering, Scootaloo felt herself drift off to sleep, leaving her worries behind. Flying, falling, tumbling, eventually Scootaloo found herself in Cloudsdale? But she couldn't fly! How could she- Unfurling her wings, she gently flapped her wings, and felt herself flying! Grinning from ear to ear, Scootloo lifted herself off the ground, defying gravity, and buzzing through the skies. The moon above seemed closer, as it grew larger and exploded, as an alicorn bursted out, Princess Luna. "Princess Luna?" Scootaloo smiled, but then sighed, "This is a dream isn't it?" "Indeed" replied Luna, flapping beside the filly, "Tell me what's wrong?" "I miss her..." Scootaloo felt tears well up in her eyes. "Rainbow Dash does too" assured Luna, as Scootaloo raised an eyebrow. "How could you know that? I know you're a princess, but you're not a mind reader" Luna smiled, "I'll show you" She raised her head, creating a silver orb from her horn. The orb expanded, and engulfed the Princess and the filly, as they landed Rainbow's home. "What are we doing here?" asked Scootaloo. Luna raised a hoof to her mouth, and pointed towards the scence unplaying in front of them. The door burst open as Soarin trotted in, beaming, "All went well I'm assuming?" Seeing Rainbow Dash's face, he stopped smiling, and sat by her, "Hey...what's wrong?" "When is this from?" asked Scootaloo. Rainbow Dash hastily wiped her tears, "Nothing" "Really?" Soarin raised an eyebrow. Rainbow Dash sighed, and silently passed Soarin the letter. As his eyes skimmed over the letter, his expression turned to sadness, and then shock. "This must have been earlier today" concluded Scootaloo, as Luna nodded knowingly. Scootaloo's eyes widened, "Are they fighting because of- me?" Luna didn't respond as they continued to stare. WHY DID I EVER CHOOSE YOU!?" "This is getting out of hoof!" Scootaloo tried to step between the fighting couple, but felt her hooves glued to the floor, "STOP!" Soarin flinched, but kept his glare steady, "You know what? I am- done, with you Rainbow Dash. Its all about you! What about Scootaloo? Rumble? ME?" "I've always-" started Rainbow. "If you can't handle one filly, I'll hate to see the damage you'd do to your own foal" growled Soarin, slamming the door behind him. "Scootaloo, please, I need you" sobbed Rainbow Dash, falling to the floor, crying into her hooves. The walls crumbled in front of Scootaloo's eyes, as the scene slowly melted away. Scootaloo's eyes burst open, as she felt the soft bed and warm blanket around her. Looking outside the window, she saw the moon still shining, stars scattered across. There was still time. Author's Note This week has been REALLY stressful for me, I had to write a short story at school, and we were supposed to write 1000 words, and I wrote 2000, and now I have to redo the whole thing. I have exams coming up soon, and I'm going insane studing. And my laptop is under repairs, they keyboard went INSANE, and its gone to HP for repairs, so I'm doing this all on my phone or desktop. And I lost my Ipad charger, and I broke my earphones, and I practically LIVE on listening to music from my earphones. So yeah, things aren't going well. But I hope you enjoy, and I think its summers in June for most countires? Its winter in June for me, but I wanted to go for most people's average month-season thing. Anyways, enjoy, like, comment!! -Tranquil Stone
