This story is about a student named Twilight Sparkle as her mentor Princess Celestia guides her to learn about friendship in the town of Equestria. Twilight becomes close friends with five other students: Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie that also study in Canterlot Academy like her. Each of them represent a different facet of friendship, and Twilight discovers herself to be a key part of the magical artifacts known as the "Elements of Harmony". They must find a way to defeat Nightmare Moon and her own Nightmare Knights while working out problems that arise in their own friendships
