Run for the Jewels
Load Full Story"EX-935200, can you hear us?"
"Yes."
"Good, your headset is working. Where you are?"
"Passing the crossing between the main street and Hoofington."
"You are close. Remember -- your main objective is to get the jewelry. If anyone resists, you have the prmission to kill."
"Roger that."
"Good luck. Contact us in case of anything."
The black GAZ-24 was going down the street. The man behind the wheel was scanning the surroundings, looking for a certain casino. Pretty soon, as he saw his target, he parked his car and started to check his gear. As he opened the glovebox, he got the VZ.61 "Skorpion" pistol out of it, and a few magazines for it. After that, he looked at the rearview mirror. He saw a man with dark glasses and an old-styled headset on his head. He slightly smirked. "Well, let's get the job done," he thought to himself. He took a pistol in his right hand, placed the spare magazines in pockets of his jacket, and got out of the car.
A small breeze hit the man's face. He looked up in the sky -- Luna's moon and stars were shining brightly above the city of Canterlot. He stood for a few seconds and inhaled. After that, he straightened the tie of his suit, and walked towards the entrance of the casino. "Golden Horn" -- the neon signboard was shining above it. Without further hesitation, the man walked inside.
The smell of tobacco and alcohol hit the man's nostrils. The casino was a large place, filled with ponies and humans. They wore stylish clothes, were drinking, smoking and gambling all around the place. As the man was scanning the place for his target, he found it sitting behind one of the far tables -- a pegasus with dark grey mane, and silver fur, that was holding an armored briefcase in his hands. So, the man continued his walk towards the pegasus. As he did so, he noticed, how the audience around was starting to get nervous -- probably because of his pistol. A few men around him sneaked their hands behind their backs, some pnies were getting from their places with grunts and cracking knuckles. But he didn't care.
As he reached the table, where the silver-coated pegasus sat, the pony finally noticed him. For a few seconds, he had a face of confusion, but then he smirked.
"Hey buddy. Looks like you found yourself behind a wrong table," the pegasus said with a sly grin. The man didn't respond. Instead, he aimed his pistol at the pegasus.
"I'll give you the choice. You'll give me what's in the briefcase, or I will take it," the man said harshly.
"Ha! Are you sure, that what you are looking for lies in there?" the pony responded.
"Show it."
"You know, if you're looking for money, I can just give you some from my pocket. I'm pretty sure that it will worth more than your wage."
"I don't care. Open the briefcase," the man said, and made a loud "click", loading the cartridge into his weapon. The pony continued to smirk, however, he put the briefcase on the table and opened it in front of a man. A bright light was emerging from its insides. As the man looked there, he understood, that those were the things he searched for -- the jewelry. Not an ordinary jewelry, but the Elements of Harmony themselves. Shiny, beautiful, radiating with energy.
"You know, I've been offered a big sum of money for those babies. What will you say, if I pay you to leave?" the pony continued to talk. The man didn't respond. Instead, he closed the briefcase, and took it into his hand. "Where do you think you're going?" the pegasus asked, his tone was becoming annoyed. After his question left his mouth, the whole casino got up from their places -- men and earth ponies were armed, pegasi were cracking their bones, unicorns were charging their horns.
"I won't say it for the third time. I don't care how wealthy you are or how many cannon fodder do you have. Let me leave, and we won't see each other again. Or try to resist, and suffer concequences," the man said, turning his head to face the pegasus. The light was reflecting in his shades, and noone could tell, what was going on behind them.
The time was going slowly. They stood for a minute. Then, for two. Casino's residents were aiming at him. He was scanning the surroundings, looking for possible covers -- the gunfight was inevitable. Then suddenly, he senced the movement behind his back -- a sound of unholstering pistol. In a second, he jumped behind one of thick wooden tables, pushing it over. In a next moment, the gunfire started. The place literally exploded with a sound of guns shooting and magic blasts hitting the interior. A few shots hit the man's cover, but bullets missed their targets -- the man's pose couldn't be seen behind the big table. Then, he heard someone's shout:
"He's pinned to the wall, flank him!"
He readied himself. The first enemy didn't let him waiting -- as the head emerged from behind the cover, the man shot it. It landed on the table with a loud "thud". The man took the pistol from the dead hands of a fallen pony, and started a Somalian fire -- with only a hand being extended from his cover. As he heard a few pained shouts, he knew that he hit at least a few of his enemies. As he empied the magazine of the dead pony's pistol, he threw it away and switched back to his "Skorpion". After that, he closed his eyes. Inhale after inhale, gunshot after gunshot... Everything was echoing in his head. He cleared his mind. After that, he put the briefcase on the ground and took the second "Skorpion", that was kept hidden under the jacket. With a loud "click", the cartridge was fixed inside of a gun. He listened carefully -- the gunshots became rare, however, he could hear lots of footsteps. He counted to three and sprang from behind his cover.
He saw how ponies and men were aiming at him. However, he was faster and went full-auto. His dual-wielding brought literal hell to the place -- guns were thundering, tearing the furniture and bodies. Some ponies tried to shoot back, but because of a mess, couldn't aim properly and corpses were falling on the ground one after another. Fire from gunshots was reflecting in the man's shades, and his victims could briefly see his stern eyes from time to time, before falling dead. And even when his enemies hid behind different covers, the man didn't stop -- instead, he emptied his magazines, quickly reloaded, and continued to shoot, tearing everything apart. Some of enemies were trying to avoid his fire, some were trying to move to another cover... They didn't have their chance.
When the man emptied his second pair of magazines, he reloaded his pistols, and put the spare one back to its place under the jacket. He looked around -- now the casino was a total mess. Destroyed tables, furniture, dead bodies... It looked more like a result of a spec ops assault. The man smirked slightly, and took the briefcase back into his left hand. He slowly walked from behind his cover, scanning the surroundings.
Then suddenly, he saw a movement on his left, however, he was too slow to respond -- he recieved a powerful hit. He flew a few meters away from the place where he stood, and crashed into one of the chairs, releasing the briefcase and a pistol from his hands. His back hurt badly. As he regained his bearings, he saw a familiar silver-coated pegasus, that flying towards him to make another hit. However, he quickly reached to the second "Skorpion" that was holstered under his jacket, and aimed it on time. He didn't avoid the pegasi's hard hit into his stomach, however. His vision became blurry, he didn't have enough air to breathe. With all the might that he still had, he pushed the pegasus back with his legs, and then went full-auto, fully relying on instinct and luck.
When the magazine was emptied, the man released his gun, and it fell on the floor with a loud "clang". He was regaining his bearings -- he couldn't see the pegasi's death, however, as noone was attacking, he knew -- everyone in the casino was dead. With a few coughs, he got up on his feet. As he picked up his guns, he reached to the briefcase and opened it. Elements of Harmony were as shiny, as before, and didn't have any damages. The man smiled and walked to the exit.
"This is EX-935200 to the center, do you copy?"
"We are online."
"Mission accomplished."
"Good. Now head to the castle."
"Roger."
As the man walked outside of the building, a cool breeze hit his hot face. He inhaled deeply and looked towards the sky. Luna's moon and stars were shining as bright, as always, making a beautiful picture. The man chuckled to himself.
"Job well done, pal, -- he said to himself, -- Now it's time to shock the Bearers."
The man straightened his tie, walked to his car, threw the gear on the passenger's seat, got inside, and with a roar, set off into the night. It was the time to bring the jewelry back to its owners...
