A Unusual Mix

Appleloosa at first glance seems like your typical southern type town. The town was surprisingly built in only a year, built by exclusively earth ponies. It is impressive that a fully functional town, it's not very much but the ponies of Appleloosa didn't mind, they were happy with what they had for now. But that's why the towns ponies worked so hard on proving them wrong. However, something strange happened to this small town that shocked not only Appleloosa, but Equestria in general.

It all started on a early June afternoon. On the edge of town there lies a apple orchard. It is owned by an earth pony stallion named Braeburn. A kind, cheerful stallion that was one of the original ponies that helped build the town. His fiance was the co-captain of the Wonderbolts, Soarin' Windsong. It all started with Soarin' and his fellow Wonderbolts had to say in Appleloosa due to needing to get away from the show light. After around two days Soarin' ended up meeting his future husband to be Braeburn, it started out with just talking and then it became something more. Seven months later Soarin' decided that it was time to pop the question, and of course Braeburn said yes.

Telling their friends and families was actually a lot easier than both of them had thought. Spitfire and Fleetfoot where excited for their Wonderbolt friend. As for Braeburn it took longer that Soarin' do to the fact that that he wanted to tell all of his family. It took about two weeks, but Braeburn he felt like the world's crap and shit had lifted just a bit. For the most part around 90% in all accepted them (the other 10% where those that didn't like Braeburn or Soarin' and in reality Braeburn and Soarin’ didn’t care about them ether).

It was a bright Friday afternoon, all of the work had been done and the workers were either at the local watering hole or with their family members, for Braeburn and Soarin' where at Braeburn's house, they were discussing about their wedding that was coming up in three months. The two of them where inside the living room, talking about their up in coming big day. However there was something that Braeburn said at the end of their conversation that made Soarin' a bit surprised and nervous at what he heard.

"Hey Soarin', I've been thinking about something, I wanna have a family with you Soarin’ and well..."

"What is it Braeburn?" Soarin' asked him, a bit confused at what Braeburn was saying.

"What I'm saying is I want to adopt Soar." Braeburn said with his well know smile.

"Oh... wow." Soarin' said a bit surprised at what his partner has said. It wasn't the fact that he didn't think that he was ready; it was the fact that he was going to fail as a parent. He knew that Braeburn had experience with taking care of foals due to the fact that when he was younger he foalsit cousin, Apple Bloom. However he on the other hoof didn't have any siblings or younger cousins, and he lived in an area of Cloudsdale that didn't have much foals around. He then asked his partner, "Um Brae, where are we going to adopt. There aren't any foal orphanages in Appleloosa or in Ponyville where your cousin Applejack and Big Mac lives at."

"Well I'd said that I want to adopt, I didn't say I wanted to do it now Soarin'." He said with a stern, but gentle face.

"B-but are you sure Braeburn, I are you sure that I'm ready to be a parent. I have never foalsit before or anyone in particular." Soarin' said, his ears folded back and looking away from his lover.

"Soarin' look at me.", Soarin' looked back at Braeburn to that his partner's eyes had that bold but kind expression, "Soarin' I know that you are a good parent. Also like I just said, not now but soon my love." He said give a wink at Soarin'

"Ok, hey Brae I'm going to fly for a few minutes."

"Ok Soarin', just make sure not to be out for too long." Braeburn said as Soarin' left the living room.

After Soarin' had exited the Braeburn's house he took off. Soarin' loved to fly, to him flying was the one thing that couldn't be affected by problems of the world, that no matter how much crap that earth gives him he could escape into the clouds, even if it's just for a little bit. After a bit of flying Soarin' decided that a it was time to return down. Then something out of the corner of his eye that caught his attention. Two things, at first Soarin' thought that it was just debris, but then he could see that the things that he thought was debris was actually moving, Soarin' then thought to himself what he should do. He then made a decision, he was going down and find out what in Equestria that thing was. He also thought that it would be ok sends he didn't see it armed.

So slowly Soarin descend towards the things, as he went down he was think about what they were, he couldn't see that it had any sort of a weapon, nora it appeared that they could use magic, however the thing is unknown to Soarin'. Soon he had reached where the thing was at.

What he saw shocked in to the tip of his wings. for starters the thing was actually two things. They were also seemed to walk on two legs instead of walking on all fours. The last thing that Soarin' noticed just how tall the two of them where, they both for sure taller that a full grown pony (Even taller than Big Macintosh). Heck they could easily be just as tall as Princess Celestia. Both of them were asleep to him. Then out of nowhere Soarin' heard something that made him shiver to his very core.

"H-hello... is someone there...."
