Chapter 1: Contest Winner

“A-Are we there yet?” Said a very scared pegasus pony who was cowering near her friends who were all walking through the Everfree forest being led by a slightly shorter dragon.

The group consisted of 7 adult pony mares of various colored coats and one young adult light-purple and emerald spiked drake. Each mare had well-developed bodies, with breasts that jiggled a bit every time they moved.

Twilight, the leader of the group, was an lavender alicorn with violet eyes, a dark indigo mane with purple and pink streaks in it. She had a slim figure with a buttoned up blouse and a short purple skirt covering up her frame but it did show a little bit of cleavage.

Rarity, the white-coated and purple-haired unicorn fashionista had an attractive hourglass figure and was wearing a buttoned blouse that was a bit too fancy for their little trip through the forest. However, it showed an amount of cleavage of her very two large orbs mounted on her chest.

Applejack, the blonde haired, orange-coated farmer mare was wearing an red-orange plaid shirt that also covered a white tank top hugged her bountiful breasts which were something you couldn’t miss, blue jeans that had holes in the knee area, and her trademark brown Stetson hat on her head.

Pinkie Pie, the energetic pink-haired and coated party mare had a mane that was poofed up as ever. She wore purple shorts and a short sleeved yellow shirt that hugged her own gorgeous orbs quite well. She was hopping around the entire walk, apparently not at all afraid of the dark atmosphere of the Everfree Forest.

Next was Rainbow Dash, the fastest flyer in all of Ponyville, was a cyan-colored pegasus with a rainbow streaked mane and was wearing a blue jacket over a black sports bra and magenta shorts that showed off her well toned athletic frame and her perky breasts. She was using her strong wings to hover just above the ground, clearly disliking the long walk.

There was Fluttershy, the timid light pink haired and yellow coated animal lover, wore a green sweater to cover up her own big breasts and a long yellow skirt, covering her entire lower half.

Then there was Starlight Glimmer, a bright pink coated mare and that had a mane that was purple with light purple and aquamarine highlights and she was wearinga sky blue dress that covered her own desirable bust.

Finally there was Spike the dragon, the only male of the group who looked just over 18 years of age. He was slightly shorter than the mares but had a decent build and was wearing a black leather jacket, a light shirt beneath it and dark blue jeans.

“According to his map, we should be there very soon. We just have to continue on this path.” Spike said while looking at a map in his hand.

“This better not be a prank or anything.” Rainbow Dash groaned. “I could be doing better things than walking through the forest.”

“As much as I hate to agree with miss complains-a-lot, I hope so too.” Applejack said, speaking honestly as always. “It’s mighty dangerous to walk out in the Everfree forest this late at night.”

Spike sighed a bit. “I know. You’ve been saying that the past hour or so. We are just making sure this is legit and not a joke.” Spike explained. “If it is a joke, you can grill me later. Or you can beat up the idiot who came up with the joke.”

“I still can’t believe you’ve won your very own luxurious mansion darling.” Rarity said, still confused on the circumstances.

“That makes two of us.” Spike said. “I didn’t even enter the contest.”

“That just makes me more suspicious of all this Spike.” Twilight said, voicing her concern, remembering that it all happened just a day ago.

One Day Ago

It was a bright sunny mid-day in Ponyville, clear skies, moderate temperatures and everypony was in a good mood. At one castle made of crystal, two individuals, one an alicorn and the other a dragon, were going about their daily routines. Most of it involved the library.

“I’m so excited that I get to add my new collection of books to the library.” Twilight said with utter excitement. As a complete bookworm, the young alicorn never enjoyed anything more than reading a good book, especially a new one.

“Yeah… Me too.” Spike said sarcastically. The young dragon had to deal with this for almost his entire life. From their time in Canterlot, to the old Golden Oaks Library to their new Castle of Friendship. ‘What I wouldn’t give to get out of this. I’m going to die of boredom.’ Spike thought dramatically to himself.

“Which do you think should go first? The new biology scrolls? History of the Hippogriffs? Or perhaps the Lineage of the Griffon Lords?” Twilight rambled off on the many new books and scrolls filled with knowledge. Once again though, Spike was bored beyond belief.

“Sweet Celestia… Let there be something to get me out of this.” Spike groaned quietly to himself.

As if the world was listening or something else, a huge knocking sound came from the castles front door, startling both dragon and alicorn.

“Who could that be? I was expecting anyone today.” Twilight said getting a little suspicious.

“I’ll get it Twilight.” Spike said rather quickly. Anything to get out of sorting countless books.

Once he reached the foyer of the castle to the front door, Spike was curious on who would be visiting. If it were any of their friends, they wouldn’t have bothered knocking. It could be a salespony or the mailpony for all he knew. Whoever it was, he was happy to deal with them than handle one more book. However, once he opened the crystal door, he was almost given a heart attack and made a deaf dragon.

Large and loud instruments blared a congratulatory song into his face as confetti and other party favors showered him. The instrument ponies continued to play their song until a earth pony stallion approached while dancing a bit. He looked like a mix between a salespony and showpony from a circus. He also had a box of sorts in his hands. What unnerved the drake was the stallions grin on his face.

“Congratulations Spike Drake!” The showpony yelled. “You have just won your very own mansion!”

“Wait. What!?!” Spike cried incredulously.

“That’s right young man, you get your own luxurious place for whatever and do whatever you want. Out of the hundreds of contestants in our competition, you are our winner!” The showpony said, his grin becoming more unnerving.

“Competition?” Spike said growing more confused. “But I didn’t even enter any competition.”

“Regardless my young scaly friend, your name has been chosen to be the winner.” The showpony said not caring about the dragon’s confusion at all. “Here is the key to your new house and a map that will take you right too there.” He said handing Spike a package that revealed a paper map and a golden skeleton-key.

“But wait! I don’t-” Spike tried to say to didn’t get the chance.

“Enjoy your new abode!” The Showpony finished dramatically. He threw a small white ball to the ground that exploded into a large cloud of white smoke. When it cleared, the showpony and the company of instrument playing ponies were gone.

Spike just stared out into the open, trying to process what was going on. “What. Just. HAPPENED!?!” Spike yelled.

Soon Twilight teleported behind him to see what was all the commotion.“Spike, what’s going on? I heard a marching band and why are you yelling?” Twilight questioned.

“I don’t know Twi.” Spike answered and then started to explain. “Some showpony showed up and said that I just won an actual mansion of my very own.”

“Wait. What!?!” Twilight cried.

“That’s what I said.” Spike replied.

“I didn’t know you entered a competition.” Twilight said. “Knowing you, you wouldn’t be able to stop talking about it.”

“That’s just it Twi. I didn’t even enter a competition.” Spike defended. “I tried to tell them that I didn’t enter their contest but they just said that my name was picked.”

“So you won a mansion from a contest you didn’t even enter?” Twilight question, growing more suspicious by the moment.

“I tried to get more information from them but the showpony didn’t care that didn’t even enter their contest.” Spike explained the situation. “He disappeared in a white puff of smoke before I could get any real answers.”

Twilight then started to look away, deep in critical thought. “All this sounds pretty sketchy Spike. It could be either a prank or worse a scam of shorts.”

“I know that something is up but I can’t help but wonder if this mansion really is legit.” Spike thought, really curious if he won a place of his very own. “This map and key seem pretty genuine.”

“You aren’t seriously going to go out if this mansion even exists?” The alicorn questioned. “Something bad could happen while you get there or if this is a scam, then they could steal from you.” Twilight spoke in fear.

Spike was touched by her concern. She always did act like a loving older sister to him. At times though, the drake felt she could get a little too protective like his adopted mother, Princess Celestia. However, she did have a point but thought came to mind.

“Tell you what Twilight.” Spike spoke after some thought. “Why don’t you and the others come with me tomorrow in case there is a possibility that there might be trouble. With all our friends together, I don’t think anyone would be dumb enough to try something.”

“Hmm…” Twilight debated with herself on Spike’s proposal. She had to admit, finding out if this mansion award was legit was more interesting than sorting through the library. If someone was trying to pull a prank or scam, then the mares and Spike can handle it together.

“Alright Spike.” Twilight sighed. “We’ll all see if this new mansion of yours is a hoax or if it really is legit.”

“Okay. I’ll look over this map and see where we need to go.” Spike said getting somewhat excited. Whether that he might get his own mansion or that he no longer had to work in the library, Twilight couldn’t tell. Maybe it was both.

“I’ll go and fetch everyone and inform them of this little adventure.” Twilight said. “Any idea where this mansion is located?”

“Outside of Ponyville but it looks like in an area in or at least near the Everfree Forest.” Spike answered.

“...Great.” Twilight groaned.

“Don’t be like that Twi.” Spike said with annoyance. “This could be fun.”

“Maybe, Spike. Maybe.” Twilight responded, still skeptical.

Present

The group continued through the forest down a path that none of them recognized. Their only guide being a colorful map in Spike’s hand who was leading with a flashlight lighting the way.

“Do you think we could turn this mansion into a fun party house?” Pinkie questioned in her usual excited, energetic manner.

“Or we could turn it into our personal training area.” Rainbow spoke her own idea about the mansion.

“Girls.” Rarity spoke in a stern manner. “That would Spike’s decision. If this mansion is real, what he wants to do with it is up to him.” The fashionetta spoke in the young dragon’s defense.

“Thank you, Rarity.” Spike replied in gratitude. “Still not sure what I’m going to do with it if it’s real since I didn’t enter the competition.” Now that he thought about it, what he was going to do with the mansion depended on its condition. If it’s in a dibilbated state, then it would quite a job to fix up. If it was in pristine condition, then he could make it his personal get-away home. If nothing else, he could even sell it for some good money.

“You aren’t going to make this new place of yours into a comic book vault are you?” Starlight teased a bit.

“No.” Spike grunted in annoyance.

“P-P-Please.” Fluttershy shivered in speaking. “Are we there yet?” The pegasus was holding onto Rainbow Dash as if her life was in danger. Rainbow gave an annoyed look, wanting the trembling pegasus to release her grip.

“We should be there very soon.” Spike said.

“You’ve been saying for-” Fluttershy was about to yell.

“Wait.” Spike interrupted. “There it is. I see a metal and stone fence and a large structure up ahead.” Spike pointed and the mares could see it as well.

Looking past the dark, jagged trees, they saw a large housing structure that looked about three stories and it had an ornate victorian-style in its architecture. It also looked like the land extended to a garden and pooling area. Even so, from the dark colors of the mansion, it had a very gothic look that would creep anyone out.

“Well Spike…” Twilight spoke, a little surprised that there really was a mansion. “It looks you really do get your own mansion.”

“Yeah.. I guess I do.” Spike replied. A little unnerved on how the windows and front door made the front of the house look like some kind of face. “Why don’t we explore it a bit. To make sure it’s safe and there aren’t any pranks or something.”

“Sounds like a plan.” Starlight said. “Hope there isn’t a lot of dust.”

“Hope there aren’t any ghosts.” Rainbow Dash exaggerated to Fluttershy.

“Eeekkk.”Fluttershy squealed. “That’s not funny Rainbow.” She growled not liking to be scared at all.

“Relax. I’m sure there aren’t any ghost.” Spike said with certainty. “Sure it looks a bit scary now but after some personal touches, that will disappear.”

“Can we go inside now, it’s starting to get chilly out here.” Rarity pleaded. She was already starting to shiver a bit.

“Alright, let’s check the place out.” Spike said as they approached his newly acquired mansion.

“I still don’t feel right about this Spike.” Twilight said, voicing her concerns.

The entire group then proceeded to enter the property of the gothic-like mansion, which its new owner and his friends began to inspect.
