A few days ago, a new earth pony family moved into Ponyville from Canterlot. Pinkie Pie threw a party to welcome them, the father's name was Clay, and the mother's name was Sandy, the two were edaphologists, and their son's name was Rocky, he was studying to be an edaphologist like his parents. Rocky had a beige coat, short light brown mane, a light brown tail, tan eyes, and his cutie mark was a brown soil with a white sunflower growing out of it. Clay had a tan coat, outgrown brown mane, brown tail, and his cutie mark was a chart of different soils on it, representing the order of the soil on the ground. Sandy had a brown coat, long dark yellow mane, dark yellow tail, and her cutie mark was three gray rocks, they have filled out paperwork to have him attend the schoolhouse, he was in Cheerilee's class,
"Okay, class, we have a new student today, please welcome, Rocky." Cheerilee said,
Rocky walks into the classroom and stands in front of the other foals,
"Well, Rocky, go on and introduce yourself." Cheerilee said,
"My name is Rocky, I'm an earth pony, I just came here from Canterlot, and uh... I'd rather not talk about school there, it was unpleasant." Rocky replied,
the other foals were wondering why, the students in the class at the time were Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, Snips, Snails, Archer, Aura, Pipsqueak, Truffle, Twist, Sunny Daze, Peachy Pie, Featherweight, Cotton Cloudy, Button Mash, Babs Seed, and Liza Doolots.
"I'm sorry you had a bad time in Canterlot, Rocky, I hope you have a better time here, there's an empty seat for you right there to Scootaloo's right, you can use it today." Cheerilee said,
Rocky walked over to the seat and sat,
"Hi, I'm Scootaloo." Scootaloo said,
"Hey." Rocky replied,
"This is my friend here, Apple Bloom." Scootaloo said,
"Howdy, mister." Apple Bloom said,
"Hi there." Rocky replied, smiling at the two,
"And that's our third friend over there, Sweetie Belle." Scootaloo said,
"Hi." Sweetie Belle said while waving her left front hoof at him,
Rocky did not respond, he glared at her, much to Sweetie Belle's confusion and shock, she looks and notices that he was not just glaring at her, he was also glaring at Snips, Snails, and Liza as well.
Cheerilee continues her class while the students were almost falling asleep, Rocky was not paying attention either, Cheerilee hears snoring and turns around, she sees Snips and Snails have fallen asleep, she looks at them disapprovingly and continues teaching, Rocky looks at them while glaring, he then mutters something under his breath,
"Did you say something?" Scootaloo asked quietly,
"No, nothing." Rocky whispered,
Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle were suspicious, they swear they have heard him say something under his breath, but they ignored it for now and waited for class to end, which felt like was not going to come. Class ends and everypony left the classroom, Rocky walks home silently while glaring at all of the unicorns in the school, the Cutie Mark Crusaders did not notice this since they were behind him, he heads out and the others soon follow. The Cutie Mark Crusaders go their separate ways to head home and do their homework, but Rocky runs to Apple Bloom,
"Hey, Apple Bloom." Rocky said as he ran to her, she turns around and looks at him,
"Wanna work on the homework at my place?" Rocky asked,
"Sure, ah could use the help, ah've been failin' class recently." Apple Bloom replied,
"Alright, meet you there." Rocky said, Apple Bloom then headed on to Rocky's house.
Rocky runs to Scootaloo's house and knocks on the door three times with his muzzle, he sees that her parents were not home at that time, Scootaloo opens the door and sees Rocky,
"Hey, Rocky, what brings you here?" Scootaloo asked with a smile on her face, happy to see her new friend again,
"I was wondering if you could come to my place, and we can study together, and then party." Rocky replied,
"Sure, I could use the help, I've been failing all year, I really need all the help I can get, Rainbow Dash hasn't been much help either, she always falls asleep." Scootaloo said with embarrassment, Rocky chuckled,
"Alright, see you there." Rocky said, and he ran off.
Apple Bloom and Scootaloo head to Rocky's house without checking with their families, they were worried they would get grounded if not home by dark, they arrive at Rocky's house, Apple Bloom arrived first, she knocks on the door with her muzzle and Rocky opens it, he just smiles and lets her in. Scootaloo comes about ten minutes later and knocks on the door with her muzzle, Rocky opens it and lets her in too, the two look around and see their classmates in the house with him, he was throwing a private party for them, they also see Clay and Sandy were attending as well,
"Mom, dad, my new friends." Rocky said,
"Wow, son, you've already made a lot of new friends, I'm glad Canterlot didn't make you lose your good heart." Clay replied with a smile, Rocky smiled back,
"Well, have fun, son, just make sure you get your homework done and go to bed on time." Sandy said,
"Yes, mom." Rocky replied, and his parents walk away,
everypony in the house work together to get their homework done and they quickly finish, they all start partying, there were food, drinks, and games everywhere, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo walk together,
"Hey, where's Sweetie Belle?" Apple Bloom asked,
"Hey, you're right, I haven't seen her either, I don't see Snips, Snails, or Liza here either, come on, let's go find Sweetie Belle." Scootaloo replied, and the two look for her together.
Sweetie Belle was at Carousel Boutique doing her homework, it was easy for her, she was the only one out of her friends who was passing the class, she was laying on her bed and focusing, the door opens and Rarity comes in with chocolate chip cookies,
"Sweetie Belle, darling, you've been working for hours, come on, have a snack." Rarity said,
"Not right now, Rarity, I'm doing my homework." Sweetie Belle replied,
"Sweetie Belle, you look hungry, I think you should take a short break." Rarity said,
"Just leave the cookies to the side, I'll eat when I finish." Sweetie Belle replied,
Rarity left the cookies to Sweetie Belle's left with her magic while Sweetie Belle continued her homework and was working hard, she was almost done, she soon finishes and then starts eating the cookies, they were warm, and no longer fresh, but she still liked it and ate them anyway, she eats them and decided to go downstairs and draw a picture with a crayon since she was bored, she wondered how other two friends were doing while drew a picture of the three them together.
Apple Bloom and Scootaloo search for Sweetie Belle and do not see her,
"You notice somethin' weird bout this party, Scootaloo?" Apple Bloom asked,
"Yeah, everyone at this party is either an earth pony or a Pegasus, there are no unicorns." Scootaloo replied,
"Ah wonder why." Apple Bloom said, and the two walk together and overhear Clay and Sandy in a room, having a private conversation,
"Didn't you notice, Clay, everypony here is an earth pony or Pegasus." Sandy said,
"Yes, I know, I guess Rocky hasn't gotten over being bullied in Canterlot yet, give him time, I'm sure he'll recover." Clay replied,
"I hope so, because if this continues all the way into his adulthood, he's going to have trouble getting along with the other ponies." Sandy said,
"Give him time, Sandy, I'm sure he'll recover." Clay replied,
"And what if he doesn't?" Sandy asked,
"Then we'll have to teach him, and if that doesn't work, he'll have to learn the hard way." Clay replied, Sandy sighed,
"Well, let's see how things go, we'll continue this conversation later." she said, and the two start to walk out.
Apple Bloom and Scootaloo quickly walked away so they would not be spotted, the two come out and see the others having fun, Clay and Sandy also watch Rocky with worried faces, the sun was setting and everypony goes home, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo were walking together, while Rocky waves bye at them with his left front hoof.
"Hey!" a female voice said to Rocky's left,
he screams a little and looks to his left, he saw Pinkie Pie standing beside him,
"Did you throw a party without me, the best party thrower in Ponyville?" Pinkie Pie asked,
"This was a private party." Rocky replied slowly and nervously, Pinkie Pie glares at him while leaning towards him, Rocky smiles nervously while Pinkie Pie gets closer,
"Okay then, sorry, just make sure you come to me next time so I can help you, I'm really good at parties." Pinkie Pie said with a smile,
"Yeah, I will, your welcoming party was great." Rocky replied quickly, he was already uncomfortable with Pinkie Pie, she then dashed away quickly, Rocky had no idea what that was about, he decided to just go back in the house.
Apple Bloom and Scootaloo walk together for the time while they head home,
"Ya think Sweetie Belle is okay?" Apple Bloom asked,
"I hope so, I still wonder why there were no unicorns." Scootaloo replied,
"Well, let's watch Rocky tomorrow, let's see how he acts towards Sweetie Belle." Apple Bloom said, Scootaloo agreed and the two headed home while wondering how Sweetie Belle was doing, she was already asleep in her bed and having a peaceful dream, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo go to bed when they arrive home and sleep through the night.
The next day comes and the Cutie Mark Crusaders walk to school together, they decided to wait for Rocky, he arrives and walks to them,
"Hey, guys, are my new friends ready to go to school together?" Rocky asked with a smile on his face,
"You betcha." Scootaloo said excitedly,
"How about you, Apple Bloom?" Rocky asked,
"Sure am." Apple Bloom replied,
"I'm ready t..." Sweetie Belle said, when she noticed Rocky was already walking with Apple Bloom and Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle was shocked at what she saw, Rocky did not bother taking her along, she goes to the school alone. Class starts and everypony was bored until recess, the class was playing dodge ball. Rocky proved himself to be a very competent player, but he was not competitive, he was calm and watched the others carefully before making his move, he got the ball and threw it at Liza, he hit her in the head hard, she got knocked down and screamed in pain. Rocky got the ball again and threw it at Snips and hit him in the head hard as well, he screamed while he fell on the ground. Rocky then got the ball sometime later and threw it at Snails, he hit him in the torso hard, he grunts when he hears a crack in his body and he falls. Rocky got the ball again near the end and threw it at Sweetie Belle and hit her in the jaw with the ball hard, she shrieks a little and falls, her teeth and left side of her mandible hurt. Recess ends and the four unicorns rub the areas where Rocky hit them with the ball, class ends and the Cutie Mark Crusaders go to their tree house, Rocky watches them and he just heads home.
Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle go to their tree house and work on their homework together, and as usual, Scootaloo needed help from the other two on everything, Apple Bloom needed help on several parts, and Sweetie Belle did not need any help, she did most of the helping,
"Sweetie Belle, did Rocky go to see you yesterday after school?" Apple Bloom asked,
"No, why?" Sweetie Belle asked,
"Rocky invited us to his house for a party." Scootaloo replied,
"Did you say a party?" Sweetie Belle asked with shock and disbelief,
"Yeah, but it was weird." Apple Bloom said,
"How?" Sweetie Belle asked,
"There were no unicorns there, everypony at Rocky's house party yesterday were either Pegasus or earth ponies." Scootaloo replied, Sweetie Belle was shocked,
"What?!" Pinkie Pie said as her head burst into the tree house from under the floor, causing the other three to shriek,
"A party with earth ponies, and Pegasi, but no unicorns?!" Pinkie Pie asked in shock, there was anger in her voice as well, scaring the three girls,
"Yeah, Rocky, he... he threw a party with only Pegasus and earth ponies in it." Apple Bloom replied, Pinkie Pie jumps out of the hole she created with her head and stood in the tree house,
"Where is he?!" Pinkie Pie asked furiously,
"Uh, uh, uh, we... we... we don't know, we didn't walk with him today." Scootaloo replied nervously, Pinkie Pie than dashed out of the tree house, running as fast as Rainbow Dash flying,
"ROCKY!!" Pinkie Pie yelled angrily, the three girls shrug while watching Pinkie Pie go out of their sights, the three then focused on one another,
"We'll keep an eye on Rocky, Ah'm gettin' real suspicious 'bout him." Apple Bloom said,
"Me too, let's watch him carefully, and Sweetie Belle, try to talk to him again tomorrow morning." Scootaloo replied,
"I will." Sweetie Belle said, and the three head home, they walk home and see their families were already home as well, but Scootaloo sees she has to spend the night by herself again, her parents were busy at work, she was lonely. Scootaloo rides her scooter around her house while waiting for the day to end; Apple Bloom sees Applejack, Big Macintosh, and Granny Smith having dinner, she joins them; Sweetie Belle went to bed early since Rarity forced her to go to bed.
The next day comes and the three foals wait for Rocky, he arrives and walks to them,
"Hi, Apple Bloom, hi, Scootaloo." Rocky said,
"Hi, Rocky." Apple Bloom and Scootaloo replied together,
"You guys ready to go to school?" Rocky asked,
"Yes." Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle replied together,
"Let's go then." Rocky said happily, walks with Apple Bloom and Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle was left behind, which shocked her,
"Hey!" Sweetie Belle said as she ran to the three,
"What about me?" Sweetie Belle asked, Rocky did not respond,
"Hey, I'm talking to you! Answer me!" Sweetie Belle said,
Rocky still did not respond, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo look at Rocky and see he was glaring at hearing Sweetie Belle's voice, they arrive at the school and go to class. Apple Bloom and Scootaloo watch Rocky carefully to see what he was doing, he was glaring at Snips and Snails the most, Cheerilee took notice of this. Recess came again and everypony plays around, Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle hang out together, they watch Rocky at recess, he did not spend time with the other unicorns, recess finishes and they all go back in, class ends rather quickly and they all head home.
"I'll be heading home now, Rarity needs my help today." Sweetie Belle said,
"Okay, bye." Scootaloo replied, and Sweetie Belle left, Rocky then ran to the two,
"Can I hang out with you guys today?" Rocky asked,
"Sure, what do ya wanna do?" Apple Bloom asked,
"I'd like to go to your guys' place this time, I hope it's good." Rocky replied,
"Sure, we have a tree house, we help others find their special talents, we haven't had any clients recently, so make yourself at home, but don't touch the Rainbow Dash posters." Scootaloo said, and the three walk to the tree house together. Unknown to them, Sweetie Belle lied about having to go home early, she was watching from afar and follows them to the tree house.
Sweetie Belle stays behind and watches Rocky from afar, she sees them go into the tree house and she goes to them to watch them through the window, they do homework and finish after a while, they finish after a while and Rocky looks around, Sweetie Belle hides under the tree house when Rocky was coming near the window she was at, the door soon opens and she hears Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Rocky laughing while walking, they walk away and Sweetie Belle follows them. They went to the school's playground and play together and have fun, Sweetie Belle felt distraught at what she was seeing, she looks down and walks home; she does her homework and then burrows her face into her pillows on her bed, Rarity comes in and walks in about an hour later,
"Sweetie Belle, what's wrong?" Rarity asked,
"It's the new student in our class, he's friends with Apple Bloom and Scootaloo, but he won't hang out with me." Sweetie Belle replied, feeling sad at the fact that her friends were having fun without her, she felt left out, she hears another person coming,
"Hey, you okay, Sweetie Belle?" the voice asked, Sweetie Belle realized it was Spike, he came in, he came to help Rarity in her shop,
"I'm fine, I just need some time to rest." Sweetie Belle replied,
"Sweetie Belle, darling, if you are being bullied in school, it is of utmost importance that you inform me, you are my sister, and it is my duty as your big sister to protect you." Rarity said,
"It's fine, Rarity, I can handle things on my own." Sweetie Belle replied, she turns onto her left side as she laid in bed, Rarity and Spike looked at her with concern and soon left her, the night comes and Sweetie Belle goes to sleep.
It was early in the morning and everypony goes on with their days, Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle stand together and wait for Rocky, he arrives and walks with Apple Bloom and Scootaloo. Sweetie Belle uses her magic to pick up Rocky and bring him to her while struggling, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo watch,
"Why are you leaving me out when you spend time with my friends?" Sweetie Belle asked, Rocky did not respond, he just looked at her with a normal face, he was not glaring or angry at her,
"I won't let you go until you answer me." Sweetie Belle said sternly after several minutes,
"Because I don't like your kind." Rocky replied calmly, Sweetie Belle dropped him out of shock, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo were shocked as well, believing that Rocky meant he did not like Sweetie Belle's personality, Rocky then stood up and walked away, he walked past Apple Bloom and Scootaloo as well, they were too shocked to speak or move at the time. They all went to class after their brains processed what Rocky said, when class ended, Sweetie Belle went home by herself, too distraught to hang out with her friends, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo decided to question Rocky on why he dislikes her, and they wait for him.
Sweetie Belle did her homework and then puts her head down in bed, she was very upset about what Rocky said, it was so hurtful to her, it felt like somepony has hit her physically, she was barely holding back her tears, but she was still sniveling, Rarity hears her and goes in to check on her,
"Sweetie Belle, what's the matter?" Rarity asked,
"Apple Bloom's and Scootaloo's new friend said he doesn't like my kind, he doesn't like my character." Sweetie Belle replied sadly, Rarity was a bit shocked, but a little sympathetic as well,
"Sweetie Belle, darling, I'm sorry to hear that, but that's how life is, somepony who likes your friends will not like you, it's happened to all of us." Rarity said,
"Yeah, but still, it hurts." Sweetie Belle replied,
"That's just how life is, my dear, you'll just have to see Apple Bloom and Scootaloo when this new friend of theirs isn't around." Rarity said,
"But why? Why would somepony be like that to another pony?" Sweetie Belle asked,
"People are like that sometimes, you're just going to have to live with it." Rarity said, Sweetie Belle groaned in disappointment and buried her head in her pillows, Rarity was very concerned, but she left the room in case Sweetie Belle wanted to sleep, she then went to design a new dress for a client.
Apple Bloom and Scootaloo saw Rocky coming and he went to them, the three walk to their tree house again and waited for Rocky to walk forward,
"Hey, let's ask him about this morning, for Sweetie Belle." Scootaloo whispered,
"Ah was about to." Apple Bloom whispered back, she then says "Rocky, we need to talk.", Rocky then faces them,
"What?" Rocky asked,
"Why do ya dislike Sweetie Belle for?" Apple Bloom asked,
"I don't like her kind." Rocky replied,
"Yeah, we get that, but what don't you like about her, she's one of the sweetest and nicest people in this town." Scootaloo said,
"That is not what I meant." Rocky replied,
"Then what did you mean by you don't like her kind?" Scootaloo asked,
"She's a horned weakling, a unicorn." Rocky replied a little sternly, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo gasp in shock, they then realize the day when Rocky started attending their class and muttered something under his breath, he said "horned weakling" that day as well, the two stood there with their mouths agape,
"Why?" Apple Bloom asked,
"I was bullied every day in Canterlot by them, they used their magic to take my school supplies, skip me in line, steal my lunch, while working outside, I had to pull things manually while the unicorns used magic to get things done, so I didn't have time for recess or to play with them, and when I had to use the bathroom, they would use their telekinesis to hold me in the air when I was in front of the bathroom, and would not put me down until I wetted myself, I had enough problems with them in Canterlot, I am not going to have the same problems here!" Rocky replied sternly,
"Okay, but being bullied by one unicorn doesn't mean you get to hate them entirely." Scootaloo said,
"I wasn't bullied by one unicorn, I was bullied by all of them!" Rocky replied, raising his voice, the other two were still shocked,
"Why do you call 'em horned weaklings for?" Apple Bloom asked,
"One, they have a horn, and two, they use magic to get everything done, while us Pegasi and earth ponies have to do everything manually, earth ponies work on the land, Pegasi work in the sky, but we do it by hoof, unicorns use magic because they're too lazy to do manual labor, not only that, they're physically weaker than Pegasi and earth ponies, therefore, they are horned weaklings." Rocky explained, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo were still shocked,
"Uh, Rocky, we have to head home, our families want us home early today." Apple Bloom said,
"Alright then, I'm sorry I raised my voice, see you two tomorrow." Rocky replied, and he walks away,
"Come on, we gotta tell Sweetie Belle." Scootaloo said, Apple Bloom agreed and they go to her home.
Sweetie Belle was sulking in her bed while thinking about Rocky, she was wondering why he would dislike her, because she was a really nice and friendly pony, the door opens and Rarity comes in with Apple Bloom and Scootaloo,
"Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo are here to see you." Rarity said, and she left the room,
"Sweetie Belle, it's about Rocky." Scootaloo said,
"I get it, he doesn't like me or my personality, I just don't understand why." Sweetie Belle replied,
"No, it ain't yer personality he don't like, it's much worse." Apple Bloom said,
"What is it then?" Sweetie Belle asked,
"He doesn't like you because you're a unicorn." Scootaloo said, Sweetie Belle was very shocked, she wanted to cry, but did not, she managed to hold back her tears,
"What?!" Pinkie Pie said as she burst into the room, scaring the three foals,
"Bullied, just because she's a unicorn?! No! No! I won't stand for this!" Pinkie Pie said and she dashed out of the boutique, looking for Rocky once again, confusing the other three,
"Well, we should head home, Ah'll tell Applejack what's goin' on." Apple Bloom said,
"Okay, I'll try to find Rainbow Dash." Scootaloo replied and they left, Sweetie Belle just laid in bed, sad about the revelation.
"Hold on a sec! Did you say that somepony is bullin' one of yer friends just cause of the type of pony she is?" Applejack asked Apple Bloom, they were outside on Sweet Apple Acres, the sun was starting to set;
"What?! Sweetie Belle is being bullied just because she's a unicorn?!" Rainbow Dash asked Scootaloo, the two were out in the middle of an open area full of grass, it was a little dark in the area from the sun going down;
"Yes, it's the new pony, Rocky, Applejack, he's leavin' Sweetie Belle out while he hangs out with Scootaloo and me." Apple Bloom said;
"It's the new guy, Rocky, while he likes me and Apple Bloom, he doesn't include Sweetie Belle, and he just ignores her when she tries to talk to him." Scootaloo said, Rainbow Dash had a shocked face;
"Apple Bloom, don't ever bully somepony just cause of what type of pony they are, it's worse than bullyin' somepony who doesn't have a cutie mark, what type of pony someone is born as can't be controlled." Applejack said;
"I once had a friend in flight school who was bullied because of what she was born as, don't ever bully another pony just because they're a unicorn or an earth pony, Scootaloo, that is one of the worst forms of bullying there is." Rainbow Dash said,
"But I was bullied for not having a cutie mark." Scootaloo replied,
"This is different, Scootaloo, it's also worse than that, a pony bullying other ponies just because they're not the same pony as them actually targets more ponies than bullying ponies who don't have cutie marks, it is very low, and very uncool." Rainbow Dash said;
"Then what am I supposed to do?" Apple Bloom and Scootaloo asked Applejack and Rainbow Dash at the same time,
"Ya need to stick by Sweetie Belle, sugar cube, she needs to know that yer still her friend." Applejack replied;
"Stay by Sweetie Belle's side, she's your friend, you have to help her, and if things don't work out, come see me again, and be careful, this might escalate, if he doesn't stop, tell the teacher, if that doesn't work, tell his parents, and if that fails, tell me and the other five." Rainbow Dash said; Apple Bloom and Scootaloo nodded at what their idols said,
"You should head home, Scootaloo, it's getting late." Rainbow Dash said, Scootaloo nodded and went home and sleeps in her bed. Scootaloo was having a dream about Rocky meeting Trixie, Rocky was screaming while Trixie held him in the air with telekinesis,
"How dare you call The Great and Powerful Trixie a horned weakling! Now, watch in awe as Trixie displays how powerful she truly is!" Trixie said angrily, and shot Rocky into the air, he screamed while he flew into the sky, Scootaloo was laughing in her sleep.
Morning comes and Sweetie Belle lays in bed, Rarity comes in to get her,
"Sweetie Belle, it's almost time for school." Rarity said,
"I don't wanna go." Sweetie Belle replied, Rarity exclaimed in shock,
"Sweetie Belle, get out of bed this instant!" Rarity said angrily,
"No!" Sweetie Belle replied,
"Why?" Rarity asked,
"That student who has been excluding me from Apple Bloom and Scootaloo is doing it just because I'm a unicorn." Sweetie Belle said, Rarity gasped in shock,
"My Sweetie Belle, bullied because of what type of pony she is, what kind of monster would do this to my sweet little Sweetie Belle?" Rarity asked dramatically,
"Alright, I'm going, sheesh!" Sweetie Belle replied annoyed, and she gets out of bed and heads out,
Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle stand together, Rocky comes over and tries to have Apple Bloom and Scootaloo walk with him, the two did not move,
"Rocky, no, we have a condition if you wanna continue bein' our friend." Apple Bloom said,
"What?" Rocky asked,
"Sweetie Belle is our friend too, if you're not going to include her, we're not going to spend time with you." Scootaloo replied, he glared at them,
"You two would defend this horned weakling?" Rocky asked calmly with anger in his voice,
"HEY!!" Sweetie Belle yelled angrily, very offended by what he called her,
"Unicorn or not, she's still our friend, and if you won't let her join, we won't be yer friend anymore!" Apple Bloom said,
"Why are you picking on me for?" Sweetie Belle asked,
"Well, these two are my best friends at the time, if they weren't, I wouldn't be after you as often." Rocky replied,
"She's still our friend, if you're going to exclude her, then none of us are going to be your friend!" Scootaloo said, Rocky just glared at her,
"Fine." Rocky replied calmly, he walks to school alone, the three walk together. Class was in session and the three watch Rocky, he was glaring at Snips and Snails in particular, Liza was not in class, they were making noises and distracting everypony, Rocky walks to them and goes behind them, he shoves their faces onto the desks and their horns get stuck in their desks, the entire class watch in shock,
"Rocky! That wasn't very nice!" Cheerilee said sternly, Rocky did not respond, Snips and Snails were struggling to get their horns out, the other students had to help them. The students go out for recess and Rocky had to sit out as punishment, which he did not mind, class ended and everypony except the Cutie Mark Crusaders went home. They went to Cheerilee,
"Miss Cheerilee, have you noticed Rocky glarin' at the unicorns durin' class?" Apple Bloom asked,
"Why, yes, I have." Cheerilee replied,
"He's been excluding me from Apple Bloom and Scootaloo just because I'm a unicorn, he's been bullying me and the other unicorns just because of what we are." Sweetie Belle said,
"What?" Cheerilee asked with shock, she then says "A bully who bullies others just because what type of pony they are? I have never had this type of bully in my classroom before."
"Well, we found out from him that he hates other unicorns because all of them bullied him in Canterlot." Scootaloo said,
"Well, you have to show him not all unicorns are mean, I'll see what I can do to help too, but it might not be easy." Cheerilee replied, the three then left and began to walk home, a rock is thrown and it hits the three in their jaws, they exclaim in pain when they fall, they look at where it came from and they see Rocky,
"I despise traitors." Rocky said angrily but calmly and then walked away,
"Rocky, come here." Cheerilee said, and he goes in, the three recover and hear Cheerilee giving Rocky a lecture on how his bullying is wrong and hurtful, and tells him if he does not stop, he will be given detention and be forced to apologize to every unicorn in the school, Rocky did not say anything and just left the school and went home. The three went home, they were not in the mood to hang out, they did their homework and laid in bed, upset about what Rocky was doing, they then slept for the night.
The next day comes and the three head to school together, Rocky did not come. They arrive in school and see Rocky in the school, he shoves the unicorns in front of him into the walls and hurts them, but nopony was crying from the pain, he did not shove them very hard, Cheerilee was noted about this and Rocky got detention. Rocky apologized to Sweetie Belle and the other unicorns after he finished detention, except for Snips and Snails, who were absent today, but the unicorns can tell he did not mean it, the three decide to do homework together and finish quickly since they were off for two days,
"Let's talk to his parents tomorrow." Apple Bloom said,
"I agree, and Rainbow Dash said if that doesn't work, tell her and her friends." Scootaloo replied,
"I hope it doesn't escalate that far, Rarity is scary when she's mad." Sweetie Belle said,
"So is Applejack, she doesn't get mad often." Apple Bloom replied,
"I think everypony is scary when they're mad, come on, let's get some rest, we're visiting Rocky tomorrow." Scootaloo said, and the three head home and go to sleep for the day.
It was a weekend and there was no school, Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle met up and went to Rocky's house, Apple Bloom knocked on the door and it opened, Clay and Sandy stood out and saw them,
"Clay, Sandy, we need to talk, it's about Rocky's unicorn problem." Scootaloo said, Sandy sighed,
"I told you he wouldn't get over it that quickly." Sandy said to Clay,
"I thought he would, I really did." Clay replied to Sandy, he looks at the three fillies and says "We are really sorry about his dislike for unicorns, he developed it while in Canterlot, he believes that all unicorns are bad, and since they use magic, he believes that they're lazy, we have tried to snap him out of it, but it hasn't worked, so we're trying to let him recover on his own, we'll discipline him if he's still like this if he's older." the three were disappointed, they were seeing that this was not going to work either,
"Is Rocky physically hurting you?" Sandy asked Sweetie Belle,
"No, when he hangs out when my two friends here, he leaves me out." Sweetie Belle replied,
"Oh good, it's not as bad as we thought it was, we thought Rocky would be beating up the unicorns in the school." Clay said,
"Well, Rocky did shove the unicorns to the sides yesterday." Apple Bloom said,
"We've heard, he's grounded for it right now." Sandy replied,
"Can we speak to him?" Scootaloo asked, the two go in and Rocky soon comes out,
"Yeah?" Rocky asked,
"We're still willin' to still be friends with ya, but you gotta let go of yer dislike for unicorns first." Apple Bloom said,
"If you wish to be my friend, then you have to let this horned weakling go, also, you guys told on the teacher about me, I can't let that go either." Rocky replied, the three fillies were getting irritated,
"I'm glad you haven't beaten me up." Sweetie Belle said, trying to lighten the mood,
"Oh, trust me, you're only in one piece because the teachers and parents would get involved, if I could, I would have beaten you up a long time ago." Rocky replied, Sweetie Belle was shocked,
"Do you dislike me more than the other unicorns?" Sweetie Belle asked,
"No, these two just happen to be my best friends at the time, if they weren't, I wouldn't be targeting you as often." Rocky replied, the three fillies were shocked again, he then asks "How did you three become friends anyway?"
"We were bullied for not havin' our cutie marks till we got them." Apple Bloom replied,
"Well, I don't care about cutie marks, those horned weaklings aren't at fault though, they should blame it on the fact that they were born into a lazy group of ponies." Rocky said, the three growled in anger,
"If ya don't stop bullyin' the unicorns, we ain't gonna be yer friends anymore!" Apple Bloom said,
"That's fine by me." Rocky replied, and he closed the door, realizing he was not going to stop,
"Come on, let's go tell the others." Scootaloo said, and they leave to go tell Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity.
Sweetie Belle laid in bed while thinking about Rocky, Rarity had a crying fit earlier and was eating ice cream about the fact that her sister was being bullied in school for who she was. Apple Bloom and Scootaloo were with Sweetie Belle to comfort her, they already told Rainbow Dash and Applejack, and Rainbow Dash left to go tell Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Twilight Sparkle about Sweetie Belle's bullying problem. They hear the door open and the Mane Six come in, Spike was with them as well,
"Sweetie Belle." Fluttershy said, as the seven walked to her, she says "We've heard about your bullying problem, and I'm sorry to say this, but Rainbow Dash is the only one who's dealt with this type of bullying, but we're here together, and we're here to help."
"Thank you." Sweetie Belle replied,
"So what's the problem, exactly?" Twilight Sparkle asked,
"Rocky is friends with us, but he always leaves out Sweetie Belle, and now that we told him that if he's not going to include her when he hangs out with us, and doesn't stop bullying people just because they're unicorns, we won't be his friends anymore, but he refused to let go of his unicorn hating ways." Scootaloo replied,
"Why, oh why, oh why, my Sweetie Belle, the sweetest and most kindest filly that I know, target of a bully just because she is a unicorn, I can't take it, the horror, I tell you, the horror!" Rarity said, she then starts crying dramatically,
"Now that I think about it, I never see Rocky come here or to my library." Twilight Sparkle said,
"Actually, I don't think I saw him go to any place that has a unicorn in it." Fluttershy replied,
"So this guy is avoiding them altogether, if only there was somepony in town who knew about it." Spike said,
"We've already tried tellin' Cheerilee, he got detention and grounded for his bullyin', and we tried tellin' his parents, neither one of 'em worked." Apple Bloom said,
"Well, it's good you three came to us, I'm sure we can fix this, take us to his house." Twilight Sparkle said, and they all go.
The Mane Six, Cutie Mark Crusaders, and Spike arrive at Clay's, Sandy's, and Rocky's house, Sweetie Belle knocks with her right front hoof, the door opens and they see Sandy, she walks in,
"Rocky, you have more visitors." she said, and he walks out,
"Yeah?" and he becomes shocked when he sees his ten visitors,
"My sister and her friends would like to have a word with you." Sweetie Belle said sternly, Rocky snickered,
"Look at that, too weak to defend yourself." Rocky said, the Mane Six and Spike were already offended,
"No, she is not, since you have refused to stop bullying Sweetie Belle and the other unicorns at the school after getting detention and grounded by your parents, we have no choice but to intervene." Twilight Sparkle replied sternly,
"What were you before you became an alicorn?" Rocky asked,
"I was a unicorn." Twilight Sparkle replied,
"So, in a way, you're a horned weakling too." Rocky said, the Mane Six become shocked,
"Excuse me?!" Twilight Sparkle asked,
"What did you just say?" Applejack asked,
"Let me at him!" Rainbow Dash said angrily while Fluttershy held her back,
"No, Rainbow Dash, you can't, he's a filly, it'll ruin your reputation if you hurt him." Fluttershy replied,
"But he just referred to the unicorns as horned weaklings, it makes me so mad!" Rainbow Dash said,
"Rocky, if you do not apologize to me, my sister, and my friend for calling us such an offensive name, I will fling you far away with my magic!" Rarity said angrily, Rocky did not respond,
"You also owe an apology for that party you threw the other day, I know you only had Pegasi and earth ponies at the party, but no unicorns, leaving people out like that is very mean!" Pinkie Pie said angrily,
"They deserve it." Rocky replied calmly,
"No, they don't, they're still ponies, Rocky, you're being a bully by leaving them out!" Sweetie Belle said angrily, Rocky glares at her,
"Sweetie Belle, you have been trying my patience ever since I started attending school, I am on the verge of beating you up right now." Rocky said sternly but calmly, the others rush to her defense,
"Don't you dare hurt my sister!" Rarity said angrily,
"Yeah, you'll have to go through us first!" Spike said while standing in front of Sweetie Belle, Rocky was scared of the dragon, but did not show any fear on the outside,
"Rocky, Sweetie Belle's magic is very weak, she's barely able to move anythin', she still has to do almost everythin' manually like Pegasi and earth ponies." Apple Bloom said,
"Doesn't matter, she's still lazy in my book." Rocky replied, Rarity exclaims in shock while Twilight Sparkle's jaw dropped,
"Rocky, that is not the reason why us unicorns use magic, we use it because we don't have the physical capabilities of a Pegasus or an earth pony, we need it to do as much work as them!" Twilight Sparkle said angrily,
"Tell us, Rocky, how would you like it if you were bullied for being an earth pony?" Fluttershy asked in a quiet but angry tone,
"It's already happened at Canterlot." Rocky replied, the Mane Six become speechless,
"I've had a friend in flight school who was one of a kind, she was always picked on for it." Rainbow Dash said,
"I was bullied in Canterlot too, and my bullies were unicorns, and I was a unicorn myself at that time." Twilight Sparkle said, Rocky did not respond to them,
"That's how things work here, Rocky, if you don't accept the unicorns as ponies, you won't be welcome here, and you'll be excluded from many things." Applejack said,
"Like what?" Rocky asked,
"I won't let you into my library." Twilight Sparkle replied,
"I won't let you watch the sonic rainboom or see my Wonderbolt shows." Rainbow Dash said,
"I won't let the animals near you and I won't let you adopt a pet." Fluttershy said,
"I won't invite you to my parties." Pinkie Pie said,
"I won't let you see my fashion shows or designs." Rarity said,
"I won't let ya have any zap apple jam or cider." Applejack said,
"I won't let you examine or study any of my gems." Spike said,
"We won't be your friend." Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle said in unison,
"Alright, I get it, I'll stop." Rocky said, the ten smile,
"Thank you, now apologize to Sweetie Belle." Twilight Sparkle said,
"I already did at detention." Rocky replied,
"We heard ya, that was half-hearted, you didn't mean it." Apple Bloom said,
"Yeah, that was just a response, make sure it's sincere this time, now apologize to our friend." Scootaloo said,
"No." Rocky said in a quiet and calm voice,
"What?!" Pinkie Pie said in shock, the others were shocked as well, they could not believe that he was this stubborn,
"Rocky." Clay said from behind, they look and see him and Sandy walking to them,
"Since you refuse to apologize for your ways, your punishment for the weekend is to spend time with the unicorns, and do everything they say, and at the end of tomorrow, apologize to every single one of them individually, if you don't, your mom and I will not let you have any friends." Clay said, they then walk back, Rocky then looks down,
"You've got be kidding me." Rocky said,
"They're not, come with me now." Twilight Sparkle said, and Rocky went with her and Spike.
Rocky had to help Twilight Sparkle around the library and cleaning, he then had to help Rarity and Sweetie Belle at their home, and everything else the other unicorns did. Rocky apologized at the end of the next day to every unicorn in the town individually, he continued to hang out with the Cutie Mark Crusaders and let Sweetie Belle join in. Rocky has come to enjoy her personality, and Cheerilee punished him by making him write an essay on how unicorns, Pegasi, and earth ponies were all equal on the next weekday. Rocky's bullying did stop overall, but he still bullied Snips and Snails every once in a while, Rocky eventually got over his dislike for unicorns and made many friends, and lived happily in Ponyville.
