Chapters Something had gone wrong...
It had been a couple of minutes since Beerus' guardian angel had gifted him with resurrection, fulfilling a promise Goku would have made in a much slower pace and while the frost demon was quite thankful for it, the fact that he wasn't at least seeing the monkey's stupid grin, made Frieza quite upseat.
No, there was no battle ground, nor the rest of Goku's group narrowing their eyes at him, but a simple, disgusting white tunnel of light as the only sight that greeted the frost demon. It was like a sick joke done by the idiotic god of chaos, which he was more than accustomed with, especially with his habit of turning beings into something else like when he...
Stupid moron! The frost demon thought, clenching his teeth in anger at the thought of the annoying Draconequus, still, that didn't help in any way to his current predicament. Just what the hell was happening?
"About time!" Growled the emperor of evil, crossing his arms while letting the white tunnel carry him towards a rather curious destination, full of red and rock. Maybe it was part of the process, in the end, how would he know? Hell! Frieza didn't even realized Whis had the power of resurrection until after the tournament!
"At least I can stop worrying about it." Muttered the frost demon, letting out a thin grin the closer he flew to the end of the tunnel.
First things first, was reunite whatever was left of his empire, recruit missing forces and start anew, then claim the universe once more in spite of Goku. At least it seemed Beerus would allow him to, so there wouldn't be any problem. After that, he would continue his past procedures, maybe visit his brother so he can show the big moron the new power up Frieza had acquired.
As for Goku? He would be back for him, regardless of how outclassed he currently was. "Nothing a couple more months of training won't fix." Frieza muttered, a chuckle escaping his lips in contempt at the fantasy.
The emperor of evil couldn't simply believe the entire fiasco in regards to friendship, the very same thing that had seemed to convince Jiren and 'saved' the universes. While yes, Frieza had to admit he did respect the monkey, he was not going to let go of his ways, after all, that's what he was. No tragic backstory, no hero turned bad, no vendetta that had let him astray, but just enjoyment to create chaos and spread death. Frieza's grin went wider at the thought.
Sadly, luck was not on his side, as without anyone knowing, another force away in another universe had affected the procedure.
Finally, his journey had come to an end, letting Frieza being spewed out of the tunnel and unto a fiery ground he instanty took notice of while he fell from the wormhole, which had just disappeared from the red skies. Any other being would have kissed the ground with their face, Frieza though, he reacted at lighting speed as he controlled his body mid air and gracefully landed on the rocky ground, leaving only a faint crack on the floor.
He scouted the area he appeared in, half wishing to see Goku with his stupid grin waving at him, but a courtain of dread and anger washed over him when no one he knew was there and most importantly, it didn't look like the void's arena as much as it did a very different version of Earth.
Frieza's eyes narrowed at the sight, doing his best to remain calm and scout the area around him, trying to come up with an answer as to what the hell just happened. Maybe an error sent him somewhere else and if that was the case, then where?
With a sigh, the frost demon shrugged. "What is the problem anyway? I'm alive and I'm here." He said, cracking his neck as a loud pop echoed around the area. "Away from curious eyes, so might as well make use of this place and see what it has to offer me."
Panic would be uncharacteristical of him in extreme situations, so it was a good thing he had learned how to remain calm and analyze what laid in front of him. Indeed, it should be child's game. First was make a sense of the place and what seemed to be currently happening. This particular aspect caught his attention almost immediately, causing the frost demon to let out a pleased smile at the area surrounding him.
He just enjoyed those kinds of sceneries.
As if a fire had went through it, the ground was covered with burned grass and destroyed trees. The land appeared to be victim of a blast as numerous craters made themselves noticeable across what appeared to be a former forest. Frieza continued analyzing the environment, noticing the scars and the patterns. Regardless of how chaotic the destruction done to the land looked, it still seemed too organized to be a natural cause. No, a fight had happened there recently.
Lifting his gaze, he noticed the red skies. Whatever had happened, it didn't stop at the former forest.
Frieza went up in the air, taking a farther look at where he was as he silently pondered what to do. His next step was to feel any kind of ki signature, either nearby or farther away and what a surprise it was for the emperor of evil to recognize the familiar feeling of life energy and from numerous beings no less. All things considered, they weren't that far away.
Switching his attention back to the land once more, Frieza noticed the destruction spreading across miles, up to an enormous castle over a hill on the horizon.
'An invasion' He thought.
What laid ahead was a clear indication of it and he knew better than anyone about those kinds of attacks. Someone had come and tried seize control of what appeared to be a rather primitive looking kingdom. Suddenly an explosion away from Frieza's position caught his attention, causing him to focus on the presence of whatever had caused it.
A smile appeared on his face. "Looks like someone is having fun." He said, feeling the numerous ki signatures once more.
But was it worth it? Or should he wait until something else corrected his mistake? In truth, Frieza was more than sure that Goku would not take too long to contact him once he discovered the resurrection didn't go as planned, but until then, he could have a little bit of fun.
"What better way to test if I've gotten stronger after the tournament?" The frost demon said to no one in particular, as he set eyes on the horizon, deciding to power up. Normally, the new evolution would deteriorate his stamina, but now he had mastered it and could withstand the form for an indefinite time.
With no other plan at the moment, Frieza charged his aura and sped up towards the source of the conflict, smiling.
It took him a few seconds to arrive at the location, coming to a halt as the grin disappeared from his face, then cocked his head to the side in amusement. Just as he sensed, there was a battle taking place, but the beings that were taking part in it, managed to confuse the emperor of evil.
To his left, was a black equine with green hair and a horn a top her head, the most interesting aspect were her insect like wings. Her power wasn't such a big deal.
Next to that one, was her another equine, this one lacked wings but had a horn, which Frieza deduced was a unicorn. His mane was black and his fur was grey, his power level being slightly above the insect like one.
The next one was the least disappointing of the three and actually managed to peek the interest of the frost demon. A humongous centaur whose height went higher than his peers, managing to top a tall tree easily. This one had red skin and black fur. His power level far exceeded the other two.
Frieza made a mental note to leave that one until the end, as far as his experience went, the best things were left to last. That aside, he analyzed them, noticing the rather obvious allegiance, as it didn't take a genius to figure out they were the invading force, as both their presence and looks screamed of 'I'M EVIIIIIIL!'.
Switching his head to the right, Frieza lifted a single eyebrow. His heart began to race in anger as deja vu of his time in Hell came back to him.
Ten pastel color equines stood facing the opposition, with three of them adorned with both wings and horns, another three were unicorns, then two pegasi and the last two seemed to be normal equines. Then there was a...
"Is that a dragon?" Highly amused, Frieza asked out loud, but not enough for anyone to hear him. Indeed, alongside the ten, was a tiny and almost pathetically comical purple dragon.
It was in this moment that recognition fell down on the frost demon, who, with a wary sigh, acknowledged where he was, the planet as well as its inhabitants. So, this is Equis He thought, remembering it as one of the planets Beerus forbid his family to destroy. In truth, he had felt tempted many times to go over the god's authority and destroy the place, but then again, Discord seemingly lived in there and the anger of two deities would do nothing but harm him. At least now he knew where he was, sadly, Frieza's knowledge didn't go beyond a few things, such as the inhabitants.
For just a moment, Frieza turned tail to find something a little bit more serious and worthy of him, but he figured that right then and there, he would find the most fun. Maybe he could take the opportunity to learn what made Beerus try to preserve such a disgusting looking planet.
Crossing his hands over his chest, Frieza looked attentively at the scene under him. First he had to choose the strongest party and by the looks of it, the pastel colored monstrosities were at the bottom of the chain. His attention then shifted to the other party. With his decision made, Frieza landed, walking towards the middle of the conflict and letting a wide smile appear on his face.
The battle between the two groups was about to start, until the emperor of evil made himself known to all.
Switching their attention from each other, both groups turned to look at the approaching frost demon, who had both arms behind his back. Most of them would instantly scream 'ALIEEN!' as his looks seemed otherworldly and he looked far to slick to be a creature from Tartarus, regardless of the greedy golden color saying otherwise.
Still, even if the sudden appearance was quite surprising, it wasn't what caught everyone's attention. As fast as the new entity made himself known, the ambient turned heavy, a sense of dread coated in a thin layer of cold washed over the group's existence.
Nervous looks stared back at the frost demon, silent proof of worry and dread which made them forget about their battle for only a moment.
He stood there, looking attentively at them, his toothy grin bringing shivers down their spines, then after not too long, the alien creature chuckled. "Pardon my intrusion," Frieza began, "but I noticed you were having fun."
None said anything and none made a single move, as if something in the back of their minds implored them not to move a muscle with the hope the entity would just go away. Frieza had not only made his presence known by looks only, but also by an aura of violence and blood that was visible amongst the slick golden body and short stature which was a head below the tallest alicorn.
Silence continued for several seconds, making Frieza's smile fall slightly as he felt annoyance at the lack of response from the seemingly stupid races on Equis.
Suddenly, one of them finally made a move. "Who are you!?" Asked the centaur, giving a step up front as if he wanted to show authority. Frieza chuckled.
"Just someone who can't help but to admire the handy work you have done here." He answered, his words directed at the attacking party, who were now beyond confused.
"So you are not here to stupidly stop our reign?" The grey unicorn said, stepping alongside the centaur.
Frieza looked at him in the eyes for a few seconds, the grin never leaving his face as he noticed the unicorn doing all in his power to resist the frost demon's stare. Averting his gaze, Frieza's eyes landed on the opposing party, as he analyzed each of the equines who wore confused and wary expressions. He figured they were too tired to even attempt to talk to him, even if he felt the biggest ones seemed to be alarmed by his presence.
Looking back at the unicorn, Frieza's smile went wider as his frown practically violated the equine. The silence was getting on their nerves, as both the unicorn and the centaur seemed to get angrier by the second and Frieza enjoyed every second of the scene.
"By all means, do continue your assault." He finally said, mockingly bowing to them. "I'm just going to enjoy myself." The centaur locked eyes with him, almost as if he wished to intimidate the frost demon with his stare, but was only succeeding in making Frieza's mocking grin go wider.
Averting his gaze from the big one, Frieza noticed the bug equine placing a hoof over the centaur's hand as he lowered his body, with her, as it seemed to be a she, whispering something to his ear. The bug equine was smart. Frieza had felt her presence as well and she appeared to be wary of him.
With one last pathetic attempt at an intimidation with a snarl, the centaur said. "Very well."
With that, he turned to face the opposing group, who looked in confusion between the frost demon and the attacking party. Frieza could see a hint of pleading from the small purple one, as if she was silently begging for him to do something, of course, he could care less, in the end, they were all going to die. Beerus or no Beerus the emperor of evil would just get rid of one species before figuring out a way back to reforming his empire.
On his part, the grey unicorn casted one last wary look on the frost demon before going back to the other party.
It was in this moment that Frieza noticed the spectacle was about to start, causing him to stand back and sit on top of a boulder, crossing his arms as he prepared to bask himself in the ensuing battle. Then a roar shook the ground with the centaur being the one to begin the assault, followed by the other two.
It was relieving for the frost demon, it had been a while since he saw this kind of battle without the weight of being erased. And it was also quite a compelling and interesting tale, where just a powerful being spread his name on a place he considered rightfully his, with blood and death ensuing, or at least he hoped there was death.
The smell of destruction and pain was something Frieza found comforting and right then, he was enjoying the gladiator match.
Looking at the numerous blasts of what he assumed was magic, Frieza had to admit the opposing force were holding their ground pretty well, despite of how tired they looked. He also noticed the bug equine casting quick glances towards him now and then, probably waiting for him to attack them.
The frost demon smiled at her.
Magic blasts went left and right, punches and kicks were delivered and pain was taking hold of the battlefield.
In all the brutality it was only natural for someone to fall and soon it happened in the form of the orange equine with an annoying stetson hat.
Her body fell limp to the floor, but she was still alive. He figured it wouldn't be for long. The rest followed on her path, as the yellow pegasus fell thanks to the grey unicorn, then the dragon at the hooves of the bug equine, almost immediately followed by the blue unicorn that for some reason reminded Frieza of Raditz.
The rainbow one hit the floor shortly after by the same enemy and the two royal like equines alongside the white unicorn and the lilac one, fell to numerous assaults by the centaur, who naturally was the strongest.
Then something happened that caught his attention. A powerful energy began to emanate from the purple one, a wild river cursing through her that threatened to drown even the centaur. Frieza's smile fell, but didn't disappear. In truth, he was actually quite amused by the sudden surge of magical prowess. The purple equine's eyes turned white and after that, the stakes were drastically shifted.
First the grey unicorn hit the floor, then the bug equine who landed besides the frost demon and only the centaur was left to continue the titanic battle.
Ground and skies shook as the two battled on ground and air, as the fight covered several miles, not unlike his battle against the monkey Goku, back on Namek, yet it was still restrained.
The purple equine had promise and seemed to hold much power inside her. If Frieza still had an empire, he would sure as Hell get the equine on his army, or destroy her if she refused.
His interest in her never decreased, even after naturally, tiredness betrayed her and caused the mare to painfully land just a few feet away from Frieza. The purple equine lifted her gaze to stare at the frost demon, as her pleading look appeared once more on her features. Shortly after, the centaur landed.
His hooves shook the ground as he slowly walked towards the downed and soon to be dead equine. Frieza was enjoying it greatly, as he adored nothing more than a good climax.
"You loose, princess Sparkle." The centaur said, a powerful magic beam forming between his horns. In that moment and much to Frieza's amusement, the grey unicorn stood from the ground and placed himself alongside the centaur. On her part, the bug equine surprisingly dragged herself from the dirt, staring at the frost demon with a terrified expression before sitting by his side, Frieza simply gave her a quick side glance before looking back at the soon to be finished battle.
By the time the emperor of evil turned his gaze towards the ending scene of the match, the centaur had charged up the attack and was ready to strike the purple equine, who had tears on her eyes as she lifted a hoof to shamefully protect herself.
Frieza's smile widened.
The spell left the centaur's horns, ready to kill the equine... Then a red explosion intercepted the blast before it could hit the pony. With a furious expression, the centaur looked to his left and frowned at the sight of the smiling frost demon with not both arms, but a single finger pointing up front. Besides him, the bug queen looked shocked, wide staring at Frieza, who had his eyes locked with the centaur.
"I thought you said you wouldn't intervene!" He growled.
Frieza let out a chuckle. "Can't help it, my hand slipped." He cackled, his laughs angering the centaur further, who gave a tentative step up front, narrowing his eyes.
"You dare..." Dangerously whispered the centaur to an unfazed frost demon.
"My deepest apologies, but I was getting bored and decided that it was my turn." He said.
At that, the other equine spun around and stomped the ground with his front hooves. "Your turn?" Asked the grey unicorn, frowning at the grinning frost demon. He couldn't believe what was happening, as this creature was seemingly taking them as nothing but entertainment. "You think this is a game!?" He yelled, charging his horn against the frost demon.
A chill went down the spine of the bug equine as Frieza slowly stood up, walking a few feet towards the centaur and the unicorn. On her part, the purple one did her best to remain conscious, watching with interest at the alien looking being.
"For you it may not be, for me however," began Frieza, lowering his arm, "I call it warm up."
"You dare challenge us!?" Screamed with fury the centaur, destroying the ground under him with a stomp. Frieza chuckled at this.
"Chrisalys, with us!" Ordered the centaur, but much to the frost demon's amusement, the bug equine didn't move. She was really smart.
The purple unicorn wasn't surprised either, as while she didn't feel any kind of magic, there was something about the frost demon that made her blood run cold, something wrong, evil and powerful.
"Looks like you have one member less in your pathetic group." He said, noticing with enormous delight at the increasing anger in both, especially the centaur. At this, Frieza decided to deepen the wound. "But don't worry, I'll make this easier for you..." He said, placing both arms behind his back. "No hands." Then, much to the surprise of everyone present and anger to the centaur, Frieza closed his eyes. "No eyes."
That was it, the last straw of mockery he would endure. With a primal roar, the centaur moved at fast speed, destroying the ground beneath him and raising his fist ready to strike the insolent being.
Swinging his arm, the centaur almost let a smile appear on his face... If it wasn't for the fact that the frost demon had disappeared. Before he could even react, the centaur felt a kick on the back of his head, sending him sailing away in the distance.
In horror, the grey unicorn stood there, looking at Frieza as he calmly landed to the ground, both of his arms behind his back and his eyes closed just as he had promised.
"What is your name?" Asked Frieza, his back turned on the grey unicorn who was shaking badly.
Doing his best to catch his breath, the equine stood still. "I am king Sombra." He said, only gaining a mocking cackle from the frost demon. The equine didn't let that get to him and faked calmness. "What is yours?"
The frost demon turned around to faze Sombra, his eyes still closed and his arms behind his back. "I am Frieza, former emperor of the planet trade organization."
"What..." Was all that managed to utter Sombra, trying to wonder if he was joking about the statement of being from outside the planet. If that was the case, though, what was he doing in Equis? Giving one deep breath, the Equine spoke. "What exactly are you..."
Before Sombra could even finish his sentence, he felt a powerful punch on his stomach, spitting blood as he almost fell numb to the several broken ribs. Before the unicorn could hit the ground, Frieza's tail took hold of Sombra's neck, then crashed his body against the floor several times. The frost demon chuckled at the painful grunts each time the equine violently hit the ground.
Sensing the other one coming towards his location, Frieza let go of the Equine, then kicked him away with the back of his foot.
ROOOAAAAAR!
The centaur fell from the sky, both of his arms lifted as he attempted to squash the frost demon with his strength, but once more Frieza moved out of the way. This time, the centaur teleported away, appearing behind Frieza and fired a spell he had been charging up.
The frost demon moved once more and faster than the eye could see, made his way towards the centaur's surprised face, then used his tail to slap the enormous beast.
The centaur heard that damned chuckle again.
"How silly of me to think you would provide me with an interesting challenge."
The enormous beast growled, using his hands as a support to lift himself up. The being's kicks and slap managed to injure him and he felt his cheek numb. The centaur was almost sure another blow would break his jaw into dust, but that wasn't what had him on edge. He was so close, so close to subjugate the protectors of Equestria, so close to seize control of the land, then this... Thing came to end all of his work and with close to no effort.
The centaur clenched his fist and gritted his teeth, looking at the mocking grin of the frost demon, who to top it all off, still had his damned eyes closed. Anger overflowed the centaur as he turned around to spot Sombra laying on the ground, broken and at the brink of death.
His body shook, as well as the ground. The centaur was summoning all of his strength to try and overpower the annoying being. Looking back at the frost demon, he seemed passive, almost as if he was condescending enough to wait for him to summon power.
On her part, the purple alicorn had managed to remain stable, using a healing spell to slowly get her body back on shape as much as she could and with it, allowing her to get a better look at this Frieza.
Her eyes were wide opened by what she was seeing. Not even Celestia or her Rainbow power managed to gain the amount of raw energy this being had, enough to simply toy with the triad.
The attacking party was bad enough, but if Frieza decided to take on them after ending the centaur, it would all be over. Still, she had hope he would not try to get them next. Then another thought came to her mind, as all the magic the centaur had once more stolen, would be gone if Frieza killed him. The alicorn had to earn enough strength to at least attempt to stop the frost demon from killing Tirek.
Shifting her gaze, the alicorn spotted the bug queen, wide staring at Frieza and only sharing quick glances with her. The young princess mentally figured she was also aware of Frieza's immense strength and was at a temporary truce. Suddenly another roar accompanied by an earthquake, took the alicorn's attention.
A red aura covered the centaur as he stood up, his strength recovered and clearly angry. Frieza though, was still calm and grinning.
"Finally you're taking this seriously." He said, opening his eyes and placing both of his arms at his sides.
The centaur was breathing heavily, but figured that blind rage would only hinder his attacks. Calming himself, he stood upright. "I heard Sombra asking your name," he began, "Frieza, was it?"
The frost demon chuckled, nodding his head. "What is yours?"
"I'm Lord Tirek." The centaur answered, hitting his chest with his fist, Frieza was not amused.
They locked eyes with each other for a few seconds before the frost demon gave one quick look behind him and towards the bug equine. "What is hers?"
Tirek frowned, looking with anger towards the bug. "That traitor's name is Chrysalis." He answered, noticing the aforementioned Queen lowering her gaze.
On his part, Frieza let out a cackle. "I wouldn't blame her." He said, looking back at Tirek who seemed to growl at his response. Suddenly, the frost demon's eyes shifted to a single being that had caught his attention.
Looking to his right, he spotted the purple equine staring back at him, her eyes widened. He had sensed her attention towards him the entire time and by the looks of it, she was more afraid of him then the rest of the weaklings. His smile grew wider as he locked eyes with her. "What about this one?" He asked, not even bothering to look at Tirek who let out a tired sigh.
"That waste of royalty is the former princess, Twilight Sparkle." He answered. "But you shouldn't concern yourself with such a weak, pathetic alicorn." Frieza mentally chuckled at Tirek's mention of the word "weak", but decided to let it go as he moved his body to face the startled alicorn who had gained his attention. Once they stared at each other, Frieza gave her a bow. " Princess." He acknowledged, noticing the surprised and hopeful expression on her face.
The frost demon could sense Tirek's desperation towards Frieza's calmness and respectful addressing to Twilight. The centaur was no fool, the frost demon was no joke, he had managed to best him with little to no effort and suspected he was still holding back. The worst thing, was that whatever Frieza used, wasn't magic and therefore he couldn't track nor absorve.
Tirek had to play his cards correctly, as a direct confrontation would surely give him the same end as Sombra. "What exactly do you seek here?" The centaur asked, finally getting the attention of the frost demon, who looked back at him with a confused look.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"You do not fool me, Frieza, your power is..." Tirek struggled, as the frost demon noticed the obvious blow to the centaur's ego. "Superior." He managed to finish. "There is more to this than a simple warm up."
Frieza was no fool either, quite the contrary and he was already noticing the incoming ass licking from the centaur. The next thing he would hear was the idea of an alliance. 'As if!' the frost demon mentally chuckled.
"I heard you say you were a galactic emperor." Tirek finished.
Frieza cocked his head to the side in fake contusion. "Where are you getting at?"
As much as Tirek wanted to be condescending, he was getting desperate, feeling as if he was talking to a child who couldn't understand a thing. On his part, Frieza could feel the centaur's predicament, which was a real delight to the frost demon. "We don't have to fight, lord Frieza." He finally declared. "My guess is that you lost your empire, but you could start anew on this planet."
Tirek's expression shifted to relief as he noticed Frieza placing a hand under his chin, silently contemplating his words and decided to push it further.
"The only resistance left on this planet is princess Sparkle and she is almost defeated." He explained. "With her magic gone, the Elements as well as the Rainbow power would no longer be of importance to us, then we could help you rebuild this galactic empire again, find the strongest beings to add to your army, even spare the life of Chrysalis." Frieza remained silent, but by then, Tirek was almost grinning. "The god of chaos has already been defeated, meaning nothing on this planet would even dare stand against us and with you leading us..."
Same as before, Frieza stood there in contemplation, slightly surprised to hear about Discord, considering he had just seen him half an hour ago. On his part, Tirek was almost sure the frost demon had been convinced and if he agreed, that that meant he would only need to lift a finger and the rest of the resistance would fade. His mind was already racing through a fantasy, a new empire beyond Equis, new power and promise, then there was Frieza.
Once he had completed his purpose, Tirek would eliminate him and take control of his empire. A smile was now evident on the centaur's face, who silently looked at Frieza.
On his part, the frost demon's gaze went from the ground to Twilight, her expression beyond terrified. He was sure that if she had energy, the princess would be bowing at him, pleading for his help and mercy. Quite pathetic if he was to be honest, but then again that title had been already taken by a certain centaur.
"What do you say?"
Tirek's words finished with the frost demon's thoughts as he locked eyes with the centaur. Frieza hummed loudly for a few moments before...
"No..."
"What..."
BOOM!
Out of nowhere, Frieza lifted his arm and blasted Tirek away in less than a second, not even Twilight could see the movement of his arm by how fast he had moved.
"You damn idiot!" Roared in anger the centaur, who once more launched himself against the frost demon. "You could have had a new reign!"
Frieza was once more grinning, lifting his arm to block the centaur's fist.
"A new army under the most powerful beings on this planet!" Tirek teleported away, appearing behind Frieza and landing a punch on him... Only to witness the frost demon dissipating as if he was made of thin air.
"The most powerful beings on the planet, you say?" The centaur heard the mock behind him, before hearing one of his ribs crack after Frieza elbowed his stomach. Before the centaur could react, Frieza kicked his chin, sending Tirek flying off a few meters away. "I am sorry, Tirek, but I don't like to settle with third places!"
"Third places!?" The centaur roared. "THIRD PLACES!?"
With another roar, Tirek launched a blast against Frieza, a blast he had been secretly charging up. The frost demon had noticed the unusual power increase but didn't pay it any mind and now that he had seen what had happened, Frieza had to admit he was surprised.
For a moment he prepared himself to dodge the slow attack, but a grin appeared on his features and decided to stand still. On her part, Twilight and Chrysalis saw in silence how the frost demon remained in place, not moving an inch as the blast approached fast, suddenly Twilight managed to get on her hooves.
"Frieza, move!"
She called out, but it was too late, as the beam effectively collided against the frost demon, a monstrous explosion shaking the ground violently as fire consumed Frieza's body. Twilight felt her body go numb, the very being who could save Equestria from the incoming darkness was now death. Tirek's laughs caught her attention, as the princess clenched her teeth in frustration.
He was going after her now, but she was not going to go down so...
"Is that really all?" Twilight's ears perked, her eyes wide opened in terror and surprise. It couldn't be an illusion as even Chrysalis was in the same state.
Turning around, the princess saw a recognizable silhouette amongst the smoke, gently walking up front. On his part, Tirek's heart almost stopped at the voice, his laugh had died on his mouth as hope had abandoned him. "It can't be." He muttered, stepping back.
There, going out of the dust, came Frieza, not a single scratch on his body, but his face now showed annoyance. "This is the potential of the so called 'most powerful being on the planet'?" He said, lowering his gaze with a shake of his head. "I guess the fun time is already over." He sighed. "Oh well, I'll just have to kill you quickly."
A chill went down Tirek's spine as a malicious grin appeared on Frieza's features, causing the centaur to step back once more. "Wait..."
A horrible pain ran across his body, as in the blink of an eye, Frieza had deepened his fist unto the centaur's stomach, pouring blood to the floor. Tirek looked down unto the mocking smile of the frost demon, silently pleading for him to stop.
The emperor of evil's smile grew wider as he moved his hand inside the centaur's stomach, savoring the grunts of pain from Tirek who was now on his knees. Suddenly, the centaur's insides glowed purple and in a moment, he was blasted away. By pure luck his intestines remained inside, but he was soon to be dead.
Out of nowhere, another blast made its way towards the frost demon, who simply raised his hand and stopped the attack. He turned around, calmly as ever. "You are more resilient than I thought, but then again, cockroaches do tend to be hard to kill." He said, looking with surprise at Sombra who had gotten up despite his injuries and was taking hold of Chrysalis, his horn aimed at her throat as he held her in place with both his magic and hoof.
"Listen to me, hero!" He said, getting a chuckle from Frieza by the interesting choice of words. "You may kill Tirek, but you will let me leave this place."
"Is that so." Frieza taunted, walking towards the two. He saw the expression Chrysalis had, the fear in her eyes as she was silently pondering whether Sombra or Frieza would kill her. She could only hope that the frost demons was merciful enough.
"Stop right there, or I swear I will kill..."
Before Sombra could even finish, something stung him, a sensation of something that had pierced through him. Giving a step back, Sombra could only watch in horror as Chrysalis fell to the floor, a hole on her chest. Looking up, he noticed Frieza with the same smile and a finger pointing up. It became clear what had happened and was only confirmed as Sombra lowered his gaze to notice the same hole on his chest.
Then his body fell limp, life leaving him.
"And that only leaves..." He said, turning around to see amongst the smoke a gravely injured Tirek, hardly panting as he was barely clinging to life.
Slowly making his way towards him, the centaur crawled away from the frost demon, clearly beaten and out of hope.
"And where are you going?" Frieza said, appearing behind him before kicking the centaur on the ribs.
That was it, it was the end of everything he had fought for by the hands of a monster. Tirek could do nothing more than look as Frieza lifted his finger towards his face and simply embrace Hell.
"Wait!" A voice had stopped Frieza's next move, the voice coming from a certain young alicorn princess.
Behind the frost demon, Twilight had limped her way besides him. Frieza didn't even bother to look at her.
"Please, we need Tirek alive." She said, noticing the frost demon's intentions and decided to explain. "Tirek is a magic vampire and he has stolen magic from way too many good ponies." Frieza gave her a side glance. "If you kill him, all that magic will be lost." Hope once more had appeared on the centaur's face as he noticed Frieza once more pondering about that.
Then a sadistic smile appeared on his face.
Before anypony could react, Frieza blasted against numerous parts of Tirek's body. Legs arms, torso and shoulders were pierced by the beams, leaving the centaur screaming in painful agony as the sick monster savoured every single moment of his pain.
Before he finished him, however, Frieza turned to look at Twilight. "All yours." With that, the frost demon turned around and walked away, stepping a few meters away from Twilight and with interest to whatever would happen next. The young alicorn looked as Frieza went past her, then shifted her haze towards the centaur, her eyes widened in horror at the state Tirek was left. His face was covered in blood and numerous deep cuts, his body held several holes, then was his stomach. A rib had pierced the skin and had ended halfway outside, just alongside it, there was a charred hole from which the intestines were visible as well as other burned organs.
He was still grunting, tears coming out of his eyes as he barely saw Twilight. The young alicorn had a hard time trying to wrap her head around the recent events, about the brutality Frieza had bestowed upon the centaur. She was beyond afraid of what the frost demon could do after she was done and only hoped he would decide to have mercy.
Shaking the thoughts away, Twilight remembered she wasn't a heartless monster and even though Tirek and the others had done so much, they were still living beings. She placed a hoof over the centaur's shoulder. "Hang in there, I won't let you die."
Behind her, Frieza rolled his eyes.
Twilight removed her hoof and placed her horn atop Tirek's horns, swallowing part of her own magic that the centaur had stolen. She was rather lucky he hadn't taken all of it as that allowed the equine to fight back.
Feeling her strength renewed, Frieza could feel the enormous power coming to her again, which caused him to step closer.
"Now what?" Asked Frieza, stepping alongside Twilight, who saw the smirking demon with his gaze set on the centaur.
Shaking her fear away, Twilight ergued her body and looked up to Frieza. "Now to fix what Tirek did and get him back in shape." She said, noticed the curious look on the frost demon. Trying to clarify her plan, the alicorn spoke again. "The Rainbow power cleanses evil and recovers what was destroyed by it, but sadly..." Looking to her right, Twilight set eyes on the death bodies of Sombra and Chrysalis, then released a sigh. "It cannot bring the dead back."
Frieza simply chuckled and stepped back, a clear indication that he would let Twilight proceed with her plan. Giving him one last look, the alicorn charged her horn, her eyes going white as a rainbow light placed itself around her.
Frieza put both arms behind his back, attentively looking at the scene and mentally going through Twilight's explanation... Until his thoughts went through a specific sentence she said.
'The Rainbow power cleanses evil...' His eyes shot open.
"Wait what..."
Before he could even react, a rainbow blast took hold of the sky, turning it blue and fixing the scorched land, bringing it to a healthy green. The blast went across the area as it engulfed Frieza. The frost demon gritted his teeth, thinking about the alicorn's words, feeling a tenuous burning sensation across his body.
If that power's especiality was against evil, then it was certainly enjoying him as a one of a kind snack.
As the pain grew stronger, Frieza fell on his knees, trying to resist the magic from harming him. It was clear by then that the Rainbow magic wasn't trying to 'cleanse' him and almost as if it had a self conscience, the magic had decided it would rather eliminate him.
Frieza wasn't going to let it.
Powering up, the frost demon resisted the pain, as through narrowed eyes he could see Tirek getting healed and going smaller while magic left his body. He also saw the numerous ponies that had fallen before, getting up again. Their eyes looking in shock at him as they held worried expressions.
Crashing both of his hands against the ground, Frieza made an effort to prevent the power from erasing him, while silently wondering about just how much energy he was resisting. But he was stronger.
The Rainbow power soon ended as it utterly failed to kill him, but it didn't mean it hadn't hurt him. Panting heavily on the ground, Frieza could hear faint voices calling out to him.
Then the world went dark.
"Who's that?" Starlight said, dusting herself off, while approaching the downed Frieza, an action mirrored by the rest who were circling the frost demon, who had mysteriously changed his skin to white.
"Kill him!" Everypony turned around to the source of the yell, spotting a now small Tirek standing on the floor, numerous horrible scars across his body. "Don't let Frieza wake up, or he will be the end of all of us!"
A yellow aura took hold of him, as his body was lifted to the air. The centaur was levitated towards Celestia who held a scowl on her face.
"What are you talking about, Tirek?" She asked, placing pressure on her hold to make the centaur squirm.
"Are you blind!?" He yelled, clearly shaken up more by the frost demon than Celestia. "Look to your right, you idiot!" He commanded.
Normally she wouldn't comply, but curiosity got the better of her and did as the centaur asked. The entire group did the same and spotted horrible scene. The dead bodies of Sombra and Chrysalis laid there, but the worst part was the state of the shadow king. His body was bloodied and beaten, with a clear look of several broken bones sticking out of the skin. They were horrified.
"He-he did this?" Asked Celestia, her wide eyes staring at the corpse.
"You shouldn't be concerned only about that, Celestia." She looked back at the centaur. "I fought him, with all my power! But he..." Tirek stuttered a few times, trying to let the words out. "His power is greater than anything on this planet!" He screamed, squirming inside his hold as he was starting to let out a terrified expression on his face while looking at the rest of the ponies. "Its greater than any of you combined!"
Not letting the revelation get to his head, Celestia's expression went serious. "Calm down Tirek, however powerful this Frieza is, he's on our side."
"You really think that?" He asked, gritting his teeth at the princess' stupidity.
"Why else would he battle against you and not us?"
"I've seen him Celestia, I felt him!" Tirek started. "As evil as you all make us out to be, he..." Pointing with his finger towards the frost demon, the centaur growled. "Is way worse."
Celestia closed her eyes for a moment, before feeling a hoof on her shoulder. Gazing to her left, she spotted Luna giving her a concerned look. Giving a deep breath, her eyes went back to Tirek. "This conversation is over."
"You have no idea how much you have doomed Equis." He said, scowling at the princess. "The whole planet will suffer because of your decision."
Celestia frowned back. "Not as much as you will inside Tartarus." With that and before the centaur could say anything, he was vanished in a bright light by the princess, who then released a deep breath.
"Sister." Called Luna out, getting the attention of Celestia. "What is to be done with the bodies."
Looking back at the scene, the sun princess thought for a few seconds. "We will give them proper burial, regardless of what they did."
Luna nodded with her head. Then her expression grew concerned. "And Frieza?"
Turning around, she spotted the whole group minus Twilight, staring at her with eyes wide open. It was clear that they were afraid of the frost demon. He had saved them, that much was clear, but if what Tirek said was true, Frieza could become the most powerful threat they have all faced.
"Princess!" Her thoughts were cut short as a familiar voice took her attention. Turning around, she saw Twilight descending to the floor, then walked towards her. "Princess, I..." Her eyes shifted to the prone body of the frost demon. "Frieza!"
Walking up to him, she looked back at Celestia. "What happened to him?"
"We have no idea, Frieza was panting when we woke up." Answered Luna, stepping closer.
Normally, Twilight wouldn't think two times before helping someopony, but Celestia noticed huge doubt in her. They all had gone through many things, faced against the worst evil and never had the young alicorn doubted saving them, until that moment.
"Twilight." Called Celestia, cutting short whatever the young princess was thinking.
Looking back at her with a wary expression, Twilight went through a mental debate. "He saved us, princess, but..." She stuttered, giving away a few deep breaths. Celestia noticed that. The young alicorn was the last to stand and only she and the attacking party had witnessed what this Frieza was capable off and it showed.
"Princess, the Rainbow power cleanses evil, but I sensed a change." She said. "It wasn't trying to cleanse Frieza, it was trying to kill him."
"And yet he still lives." Answered Celestia.
Fear appeared on the you princess' face. "The magic could have, but it didn't!" She said, with Celestia already having an idea of where the conversation was going. "Its bad enough that it saw Frieza as such a threat to actively try to kill him, but to think he was powerful enough to resist it..."
The princess lowered her gaze, thinking about her words. Looking back, she saw the group struggling on the debate.
"Princess, do you think we should..." Twilight said, not even ending her sentence and it wasn't needed for any of them to understand.
They were at an impass. On one side they would prevent a possible battle Celestia knew they wouldn't win, on the other hoof there was still the possibility that Frieza wouldn't try to kill them, plus, he had saved them when he could have easily killed everyone, but then there was the Rainbow's power decision.
"Twilight." Celestia finally called out. "You better than any of us, saw what happened." She stated, placing a hoof over the young alicorn's shoulder. "Think of what you saw in him and make your decision."
Twilight wide stared at Celestia, causing the princess to let out a gentle chuckle. "Whatever you decide, we will all be with you." With that, she removed her hoof from the young alicorn's shoulder, who lowered her head a few moments for contemplation.
Finally after several seconds, she lifted her gaze. "What I saw was a monster, a beast who took a sadistic pleasure in the torture of others, somepony who doesn't care about the casualties if they stand on his way, I saw an immense power that could destroy everything we know and a being so evil that even the Rainbow power was forced to take action!"
As the words left her mouth, Celestia gave a small nod of understanding and began charging her horn, silently wishing that on his sleep, Frieza was weaker. The sun princess walked towards the body of the frost demon, until the voice of her former pupil stopped her.
"But then again, he chose to save us." She said, looking back at Celestia. "Even when Tirek offered him a kingdom and a place as their leader, even when he had the opportunity to rebuild his empire!"
"His empire?" Behind her, Starlight asked in surprise, but was ignored.
Twilight continued. "Anypony else would have taken that chance and he could have easily killed me, but he didn't! He chose to defeat Tirek and stop several years of darkness that could have fallen on Equestria!" Shutting her horn off, Celestia gave her pupil a smile, as she lowered her gaze once more. After a few seconds, Twilight lifted her eyes, a smile on her face. She had taken her decision.
"We save him!"
A slight hot sensation ran across the frost demon's body, his mind regaining consciousness as the familiar feeling of air greeted him.
Slowly opening his eyes, Frieza lifted a hand to cover his eyes until they adjusted to the sun's light, meanwhile mentally going through the events that led him to where he was in that moment. To do so, Frieza sat up and did his best to look at the surroundings.
It was a primitive looking wooden room, not a hospital considering the lack of medical equipment, which all things considered, should be even more primitive to what he was used to. This had to be a house.
Secondly, he was on a bed almost of his size, but small enough that monkeys like Goku would have both of their feet in the air. It was, all things considered, an amusing fit for him. The plain blanket covered half his body, leading him to believe the citizens of said planet were not looking for a fight, which for Frieza was a shame... At least until he decided to start one with them.
Moving away from his predicament, the frost demon made an effort to recall the events that lead him to lay on a primitive bed. Then it came back to him.
Frieza remembered the small purple alicorn, the slaughter of both Sombra and Chrysalis and further torture of the centaur... Then came said "Rainbow power". The frost demon recalled this Twilight telling him about the magic and what it did, but she never mentioned killing intentions.
Either the little cockroach had tried to deceive him, or it had been a side effect of his own nature. Considering where he was in that moment, Frieza inclined to the later.
With things more clear about his current position, the frost demon pushed the plain white blanket aside and stood up. As far as his knowledge went, he was quite far away from his usual center of operation and considering the monkey hadn't tried to contact him, Frieza wondered if it was due to something on the planet that was blocking the connection.
In truth, it wouldn't be a problem for him to just fly off the planet and back to regroup his army, but he was quite curious about Equis, especially since Beerus had forbid them to destroy it. Maybe staying for a few days would clarify things up, as well as provide him with some entertainment. Maybe he could take it as a much deserved vacation before going back.
All things considered, letting know Goku of his predicament wasn't exactly important, at least he was now free of eternal torture and eager to resume his evil ways while keeping himself in check for the time being, so no destroying the equines for fun... No, not yet... He thought.
Smiling at this, Frieza walked over to the wooden door and opened it, stepping outside the room, only to find a stair case that led down to what seemed a living room, way too rustic for his taste. To his right, he noticed several pictures, a few with the same equines he saw the day before and others with only one of them. He figured it was the house of the yellow pegasus alongside the god of chaos, so now he knew who had admitted him at home.
As he made it to the bottom floor, Frieza ignored the several animals that ran away from him, as he was busy trying to sense any kind of ki signatures nearby. After a few seconds, the frost demon figured there wasn't anyone important around.
It was a good time to step outside and explore the place before he could meet either Twilight or any of the equines he had seen.
"Throw that and I will rip your limbs, then hang what is left of you at the entrance of this house."
The frost demon suddenly said, scaring a tiny rabbit who had a carrot on his paw. The animal let go of it and went running away with a terrified look while screaming angry gibberish. Frieza let out a satisfied chuckle before opening the door and stepping outside.
Trees, trees everywhere and peaceful green grass all around him. Disgusting! He thought, walking a few feet away from the cottage and passing through a small gray bridge. Still, there was something familiar about the sight, the patterns of the vegetation around him, ringed a bell to the frost demon.
With an amused expression, Frieza recognized the place as the exact same forest he had landed a day before, only this time it looked as if nothing had happened. He wondered if it was because of said "Rainbow power".
He preferred the charred look, though.
Switching his attention, Frieza felt numerous low level ki signatures not far from his position and towards what seemed a town. He was about to sense elsewhere when the familiar signature of Twilight assaulted him. At least now he knew where to go and began lazily walking towards Ponyville.
As he made his way, Frieza noticed a rather curious thing about the place he was traversing, something that actually managed to catch his interest. How was it possible? He wasn't exactly sure, but the fact was that he sensed it.
The forest itself was afraid.
Humming loudly in interest, the frost demon placed both hands behind his back, observing the area and noticing numerous eyes lurking in the shadows, most of which were soon to leave, almost as if his mere presence was toxic to them.
Not that he minded such actions, although he did regret none of the animals in the forest would provide him with fun. In truth, he wasn't exactly satisfied after having defeated Sombra, especially Tirek and if it was up to him, he would have let the centaur heal so Frieza could torture him again with much more time to spend. Regardless, the equine Twilight seemed interesting enough, at least to keep him entertained for some time.
Minutes passed in silence as he made his peaceful way across the terrified forest, that continued its unnatural moanings until he saw a clearing.
Shifting his attention once more, Frieza soon noticed he was at the entrance of the forest and in front of the place's town, then felt numerous ki signatures gathered around, perhaps in a post battle meeting. Sadly, he was about to crash the gathering.
Raising to the air, Frieza made his way towards what appeared to be a town hall, as primitive looking as the rest of the edifices on the planet. Around it where what he assumed the entire town population, gathered around the building. In front of the commotion where the three mix race equines as well as other five, minus the blue unicorn and the lilac one from the same species. Frieza decided to get closer.
"Through dark and fear Equestria has traveled, always managing to find light amongst the darkest tunnels, even when the worst evils have come to destroy what we have and who we are!" On top of the podium, Celestia took charge addressing the last problem with the triad.
Although the only lives lost belonged to those of Sombra and Chrysalis, the battle that had ensued a couple days before, had made an indelible mark on everypony in Equestria. It had destroyed homes, lives and scarred many and although it was over and everything returned to peace, the aftermath was still felt.
Celestia could see it in the downed expressions of her subjects and the nervous quick glances others made around them. Even the major had decided to skip the meeting, in favour of resting after such dark days. Then there was Frieza as she recalled Tirek calling him.
Nopony knew about him, aside from the several Changelings that had left the place shortly after the frost demon arrived to their last stand. Still, even if he had saved them, his actions had been brutal enough to be kept quiet to the population until Celestia decided what to do with him... if she could even do something.
There were a lot of unknowns. Would he be kind to them? Would he try to destroy them? She didn't know, but was at least certain that the existence of Frieza would have to remain a secret for the time being. As the sun princess passed her sight through the crowd of ponies, she let out a sigh. It was going to be a long day, sadly, Celestia never noticed a white figure placing itself behind a tree, smiling as he waited in silence.
"Regardless, even if every member of the triad was a monster, their deaths are felt, for Equestria is not a violent place nor a barbaric nation!" Continued Celestia, doing her best to leave any detail in regards to Frieza, a secret. "And while the efforts of the Elements have finished the attack, we will still mourn the lives of these living beings."
Loud clapping ended Celestia's speech, who held a satisfied smile. She had disposed of the bodies, sent them to a crematorium, before being prepared to be locked inside a secret chamber in the castle. At least Tirek had survived, even if his body was heavily scarred. That fact made Celestia shudder at the thought of Frieza, making her attention to falter momentarily. The cheer lasted for a few seconds, before dying down.
Then another set of claps echoed across the area.
An all too familiar chuckle assaulted the ears of Twilight, who as well as the other princesses and the elements, moved their attention to a sole smiling frost demon. Frieza's presence caused the collective gasp of everypony present, who remained locked in place, visibly shaken and at the brink of panic. Then to further fuel that fear, Frieza levitated from the ground and began floating towards the podium.
Everypony stood in awe, watching at the frost demon who was flying without wings and who looked far too alien to be from Equestria.
The smiling demon landed in front of Celestia, stopping his claps as he smiled at the princess. "Quite the lovely speech."
Twilight looked at her former mentor, clearly taken aback and with a loss of words. Luckily, the sun princess had enough experience to avoid awkward introductions and did her best to let out a genuine smile.
"Frieza, it is good to see you up." She said. "I was quite eager to greet you, but as you can see, we were about the close the meeting and pay respects to the lives we lost." She finished, slightly stuttering on her words as she silently hoped this would not call the ire of the frost demon.
A few seconds passed, with Frieza silently staring at the now nervous sun princess, then as if her pleads had been heard, the frost demon let out a chuckle, nodding afterwards.
"Pardon my intrusion and please, proceed with your meeting."
Celestia let out a mental sigh, silently releasing the breath she was holding as her smile grew wider. "My thanks." She said, bowing slightly with her head.
With that, Frieza placed himself alongside Twilight, giving the young alicorn a small bow. "Princess." He greeted.
Twilight remained silent for a couple seconds, blank staring at the emperor of evil while a drop of sweat ran down her forehead. The young princess thought she was ready to face the frost demon, but watching him that close caused a chill go down her spine. It didn't help that her friends were visibly shaking, staring attentively at the emperor of evil who was currently waiting for Twilight to say something. After several moments, the young princess gulped, doing her best to maintain composure enough to let out a thin grin. "Good to see you awake, Frieza."
On her part, Celestia's facade had fallen, her expression was visibly nervous in the eyes of ponies who were now starting to panic. Her plan had fallen apart, courtesy of the emperor of evil who had decided to crash her meeting.
With a long, tired sigh, Celestia figured it was just life forcing her to do the inevitable, so maybe it was a good thing he had arrived so she could clarify things up. With this in mind, the sun princess lifted her head, letting out a couple deep breaths before regaining composure.
"Citizens of Ponyville!" She began, giving a step up front and ignoring the sudden muttering in the crowd. "Yesterday during our confrontation and regardless of the Element's prowess, our victory was not assured!" Continued Celestia. "Our combined power proved to be futile against the triad, drowning our hopes that we would not see a happy Equestria once more! But as its darkness grew, somepony, somewhere heard our pleadings and sent us a protector!"
Frieza let out a chuckle at this, finding amusement in the sudden ass licking from the supposed powerful royalty. He was going to target her first once his vacation ended to show her how much of a "protector" he was. Until then, the frost demon would keep quiet and play her game.
Suddenly, Celestia motioned with her hoof towards the emperor of evil. "The name of this protector is Frieza and he was the one who ended the triad!" Gasps assaulted the place, making the frost demon's smile go wider while he stared with an eerie look towards the shocked crowd. He found amusing that every single one of them averted their gaze once they made contact with his.
They were pretty easy to fright, something Frieza was going to exploit every time he could while he remained in the interesting planet that for some reason reminded him of Goku.
"Please, I ask that you accept him as part of our community, for if it wasn't for him, Faust knows how many years of darkness would have fallen on Equestria."
As the expressions of the crowd went from panic to shock, confusion and finally small acceptance, Frieza ignored the sudden claps of the equines, thinking that all things considered, Celestia was good with speeches. Regardless of the sudden warming up, the sun princess saw several ponies still tense and with a slight sense of dread still on their faces. It was a good thing Frieza had been acting up rather friendly, as it helped to calm nerves.
It wasn't long before the meeting came to an end, with everypony going back to their daily responsibilities, while casting quick wary glances towards the frost demon. On their part, everypony on the podium began to descend, with the Elements walking close by Frieza, who was following Celestia.
The emperor of evil had to admit he was rather curious about the entire group, in the end, it wasn't always he took the time to catalogue every living being in every planet he sold. It was quite a good change of pace for the time being. Still, he found it quite funny how the rest of the group casted him wary looks.
He also noticed the dead silence amongst them and he knew why exactly that was. Frieza could recall many animals giving him the same look of fear and uncertainty, which only made the inevitable slaughter all the more satisfying. On their part, the Elements found it hard to keep their stares on the frost demon, something inside the yelling at them to run and never look back, an aura of dread that made their heart pound faster. This sensation caused the group to share quick looks between them, looking for affirmation and knowledge that they would stick together.
Once everypony was gone, the sun princess turned around and gave Frieza the warmest of smiles she could create, but secretly nervous about the interaction. "I am deeply sorry about this, Frieza, but at least now we have a chance to meet each other accordingly." She said, extending her hoof towards the frost demon. "I am princess Celestia, co-princess of Equestria."
"Co-princess?" Asked Frieza, raising an eyebrow in amusement as he took hold of her hoof for a few seconds.
Celestia took notice of this and let out a chuckle, feeling her heart going slower in relaxation. Maybe there was a chance Tirek was wrong "Indeed, I share a co-rule with my sister, Luna." She explained, motioning towards the blue alicorn.
Cocking his head to the side, Frieza asked. "And about the dear princess Twilight?" There was a hint of a playful mock on his tone that calmed Celestia's nerves further.
"Me and my sister rule over Equestria, but our domain is divided." She explained. "My former student watches over Ponyville as princess of friendship and shares an equal co-rule."
Frieza placed a hand under his chin. "Quite the amusing and tangled way of ruling." He said, doing his best to let the 'princess of friendship' part slide as much as he could, without having to think back at Goku.
Celestia chuckled once more. "I know, but we are an easy going race and it helps that we are all basically family." A knowing look appeared on her face. "And according to what dear princess Twilight told me, you are no stranger to kingdoms, lord Frieza."
The frost demon let out a chuckle. "It is a little too late for me to be addressed as lord, princes Celestia." He said. "I lost my empire a while ago."
The sun princess' smile fell a little as an apologetic look appeared on her face. "My apologies, Frieza."
Surprisingly enough, the frost demon remained cheerful. "No need for that! Loosing my empire helped me see things clearer and my ambitions have gone bigger." Finished the emperor of evil, regardless of his intentions of regrouping his lost followers.
Celestia, on her part, gave Frieza a playful grin. "Care to tell what those ambitions are, Frieza? Remember, sharing is caring!"
Suddenly, an unsettling smile appeared on the frost demon's features. "Why should I reveal my best cards so early, princess Celestia?" The sun princess didn't know what it was that made Frieza's grin so terrifying, almost as if there was a monster hiding behind the friendly looks, matching the initial description Twilight gave. However, he had been very easy going so far and Celestia was not going to let that go to waste.
Letting it slip, the sun princes continued. "I'm sure it will be a surprise we will all remember."
"If I want, remember it, you will. " Thought the frost demon.
As an eerie grin appeared on Frieza's futures, Celestia and the rest present took the opportunity to oberve him and the rather curious fact about his position of power. Yet there was something that peeked Celestia's curiosity in regards to the emperor of evil's physique.
"If you don't mind me asking, Frieza." Began the sun princess, gaining the aforementioned emperor's attention. "How old are you."
He stared blankly at her, most specifically her question, which was something he normally didn't feel comfortable sharing. Regardless, In the end, what would those equines do with the information? His smile reapearing, Frieza motioned with a hand towards himself. "I'm around seventy years old, your highness."
Celestia hummed loudly at that, rubbing her chin in deep thought. "Curious, you look rather young."
The frost demon chuckled. "That is because my species age slowly, Celestia." At this, the sun princess cocked her head to the side, a clear sign that she wanted to know more and an expression shared by the rest of the group, especially Twilight who had her eyes glued on him. "What is the usual max mortality age of your subjects?"
"Around a hundred years, why?"
Frieza smiled. "Because compared to them, I would be around twenty four years old."
Celestia hummed loudly. "That is actually quite fascinating." She said, rubbing her chin with a curious expression. With that out of the way and noticing the lack of response from emperor of evil, Celestia decided to continue. "Frieza, these are the Elements of Harmony, the main force of Equestria." She said, motioning with her hoof towards the group behind him.
Frieza turned around, looking at the ponies watching him back in silence and wariness. "Forgive my rudeness, but the main force of Equestria was not doing so well with those insects."
After those words left his mouth, he noticed some of their faces go down, with the exception of the white one who was looking at him with an almost lustful glare, while, interestingly enough, the Rainbow one had a frown on her face. He had hit a string, but the frost demon could notice she was restraining out of fear.
He decided to deepen the wound on the stroke ego of the one that looked too cocky for his taste. "If anything, it was dear Twilight who put up more of a fight against them." The mentioned alicorn lowered her head as a red coloration appeared on her face.
"Don't worry about it, Frieza." Behind him, Celestia said. "And while I understand what you are saying, the Elements had fought against Tirek and his allies for five days before your arrival."
"Have they now?" Asked the frost demon, faking amusement.
On her part, the princess was unaware of Frieza's experience with faking emotions and actually smiled in response to his 'amusement'. "Indeed," she said, "if it weren't for them, Equestria would have been lost in the first two days."
"Then I guess the incompetent ones are Equestria's two royalties. ". He silently scoffed. Frieza was not one to let incompetence pass and had the royal wastes been on his army, they would have already perished.
With a chuckle, Frieza got closer to the group, who in return gave a step back, minus Twilight. "What are your names, 'heroes of Equestria'?" The sarcasm wasn't lost and while Celestia may have considered it friendly playfulness, the rainbow maned one was almost fuming in anger. The frost demon gave her a knowing smile, almost as if he wanted her to say something.
Surprisingly enough, she restrained herself once more.
After several seconds of silence, the plain, orange pony with the funny hat gave a step up front. It seemed Frieza's calm exchange had eased the groups' nerves, who had been on edge the entire time.
"Well, Ah' don't think we ever thanked you, Frieza sir'!" She said, putting her hat over her chest as a way of greeting the frost demon. "Ah' am Applejack, co-owner of sweet apple acres!"
Frieza gave her a small nod. "Charmed." He said, his fake friendliness and interest managing to gain the trust of the pony.
After that small showcase, the rest seemed to warm up and the next of one to approach him, with curious eagerness, was the one with eerily similar colors to the frost demon.
"Greetings Frieza, I am Rarity and I must say, I love your perfect structure and beautiful body colors." She said in a manner that made Frieza give a small step back. Rarity, however, got even closer, placing her hoof atop his chest. "How do you manage to have your skin so smooth and clean, while keeping such strong and well structured muscles?"
If Frieza had actually put an effort, he would have seen small drops of saliva dropping down her mouth. The frost demon gave another step back, a vein pupping on his head as Rarity gave yet another step up front.
He opened his mouth, but no words came out. Noticing this predicament, another pony decided to step in.
"I think you should give Frieza a little space, Rarity." A yellow pegasus said, placing a hoof over her friend's should, causing the white unicorn to snap out of her trance.
Rarity looked behind her, a sheepish smile and red cheeks appearing on her face as she gently went back to the group. Before doing so, however, Rarity looked back at the frost demon and winked at him, causing Frieza to gulp.
Letting that slip, he lowered his gaze by not too much and recognized the pegasus in front of him. Letting an chuckle slip, Frieza gave her a small bow. "I don't believe I thanked you for your hospitality and recent quick save miss..."
"Fluttershy, my name is Fluttershy." She replied, giving the frost demon a smile. "And it was no problem, after all, you did save us."
Frieza mentally chuckled Enjoy that luxury while it lasts. .
With one final smile, she went back to the group and in its place a pink blur made past her and towards the frost demon. Instinctively and faster than said pink thing, Frieza lifted his arm, taking hold of the incoming blur by the tail, only to reveal a disgustingly pink monstrosity from the depths of Hell.
His disgust was evident on his face, while taking hold of the equine as if she was made of something vomit-enducing like justice. The pony didn't even notice it.
"WOW! YOU'RE FAST!!" She said cheerfully, causing Frieza to let go of her, but strangely enough, she remained in the air. This managed to perplex Frieza who saw she wasn't exactly using her ki.
"I'm Pinkie Pie and it'ssoawesomemeetinganalienthatwasjustrevivedandistotallynotgoingtodestroyus!!" She finished, the perplexed look on Frieza not leaving his face as he was once more on a loss for words.
His left eye twitched standing silently and thinking back about the pests that bothered him back in hell. This equine was so similar to them, he wondered if they haven't purposefully sent her there to torture him. He was so caught up in the moment that he almost never noticed the mare was still speaking.
"... and there'll be games and music and games and punch and dances and cake and everypony in Ponyville!" She finished, a huge smile plastered on hi face, but that wasn't the thing that caught the frost demon's attention, but rather that he was unconsciously lifting his finger to strike.
However, Celestia who was oblivious of Freiza's intentions, mistook his silence and expression as ones anypony else would have in his position after meeting the party pony. It was this that's unknowingly prevented Frieza from simply lashing out and destroy the planet.
"Pinkie always gets that response from new ponies." She said, chuckling and managing to get the frost demon to lower his hand. It was a miracle no pony noticed that. "But she has good intentions, regardless and way too much time to even prepare you a party."
"A party?" Frieza asked, letting go of Pinkie as he titled his head to the side. His lying abilities once more proved to be efficient in that moment as he let go of his anger and did his best to let out a grin as well as a chuckle. "I have to admit, you had me quite surprised there, miss Pie." He said, noticing the party pony's smile widening.
He knew he was so going to regret it as soon as he thought of his next words. "And I would gladly accept this party from you."
"Yes!" Pinkie yelled, jumping off the ground and into the air, her cheerfulness managing to make Frieza's left eye twitch once more. "You're gonna love it mister frost demon!"
While the rest of the group was taken aback by the way Pinkie had called him, one thing they had in common with the aforementioned frost demon was the surprise about how good that title actually fit Frieza.
Letting the thought slip, he pondered about the party. He did have his fare share of them while dealing with other intergalactic governments and even recalled one with a certain gem, who at the end of the event, he had personally killed most of her soldiers in a dance of fun.
"Frost demon, uh?" Somepony had said.
Turning around, he noticed the owner of the voice being none other than Celestia's sister, Luna. A playful but threatening smile appeared on his features as he looked up at the equine. "Do you find that amusing, princess Luna?"
Regardless of his friendly grin, Luna's smile disappeared from her face as she felt a creeping feeling as soon as she saw Frieza's expression. Unknowingly shaking her head, she forced a chuckle.
"Indeed, I would say it was quite a fit." She managed to finish her sentence getting a chuckle from Frieza.
Suddenly, somepony scoffed and while this certain mare did everything in her power to make it as quiet as possible, Frieza had a huge listening edge due to his species. He instantly gazed at the one pegasus he was waiting to speak and noticed her sudden little jump, which let him know a certain feeling he was familiar with.
Fear.
"I don't believe I've heard your name." He stated, staring directly at the blue pegasus' eyes as she did all in her power to gaze back, only to fail miserably. Her fear grew bigger when her friends, suddenly made way for her, huge smiles on their faces.
"Come on, Dash!" Applejack exclaimed, placing a hoof over her shoulder. "Frieza here ain't gonna bite you!"
"At least not yet." The frost demon replied, doing his best to let those words seem like just a friendly game, which he succeeded once he noticed the group giggling at his dark sense of humor.
Managing to let out a few chuckles herself, Rainbow began walking. Deep in her mind, she was sure Frieza wasn't being playful when he said those words.
A few seconds felt like hours as she stood in front of him, his height barely higher than hers. It actually surprised her how such a small guy could incite so much fear in her.
Frieza was getting desperate as he waited for the moronic mare to speak. Any other time he would have simply ripped the head of the little pathetic cockroach, but in that time he decided to give the mare a slight push.
He had noticed her physique, the muscles on her wings and daredevil look. Something came to his mind.
"You look like a fast flier." He finally said.
Suddenly that statement managed to awake the brave Rainbow, whose fear had been replaced by an enormous ego. Frieza noticed this and could only laugh at how easy this one pony would be to manipulate should the need arise. True, he had been doing that since he appeared on the planet, but the blue equine seemed to arrive at a whole another level of sheer stupidity, plus, there was something else he needed to confirm.
The blue pegasus shot up in the air and puffed her chest, almost as if she wanted to show muscles. "Ha! Even aliens notice my awesomeness!" She said, a clear smile on her face. "Yeah, I'm Rainbow Dash, fastest flyer in Equestria!"
His theory was confirmed. She was nothing more than one of those 'show off' buffoons, all bark and no bite and the type of beings that usually fell the hardest. Frieza just enjoyed torturing those types of morons.
"How did you notice it, uh?" She asked, posing in front of Frieza. "Was it my frame? My sheer coolness? My awesome hair? Or maybe this pair of wings?"
"How fast are you?" Frieza asked, not really bothering to answer her asinine questions, this however did not seem to bother her either.
"If you must know I'm so fast I can even make a sonic rainboom!"
The frost demon arched an eyebrow at this. The sheer amount of power to do something like that would have to be quite strong, then maybe Rainbow had something going for her...
She suddenly kissed her own muscles.
Yup, she was still stupid and annoying.
Deciding he was done with her, Frieza looked past the Rainbow maned pegasus and placed a hand under his chin. "I recall there being more of you if I'm not mistaken."
This time, Twilight decided it was time to make some presence. Approaching with a smile, Frieza greeted her with one of his own. Out of all, she seemed to be the less annoying one and actually looked quite smart.
"You are not mistaken, Frieza." She said. "Indeed, their names were Trixie and Starlight Glimmer, but unfortunately they couldn't come."
"Would it be a bother to know why, princess?"
She giggled at his politeness, mentally being surprised about such a powerful and barbaric creature could be so smooth in his mannerisms. "Please, Frieza, just call me Twilight and no, it's not a bother at all." She replied. "The attack led by lord Tirek was..." She paused, her smile falling. "Most of Ponyville was destroyed and the whole thing kind of tired Starlight, considering..."
She faltered again. Frieza just stared in silence, faking a gentle gaze.
"Look, those were dark days and it took a lot out of her."
Placing a hand under his chin. "Then I guess we shouldn't bother her, considering your friend Starlight is resting at the moment."
Twilight smiled back. "It's quite alright, Frieza." She said. "Starlight is back at my castle and I'm sure she will be good in no time."
"Which reminds me." Princess Celestia exclaimed, catching the attention of the frost demon. "I am sorry if this sounds rude, Frieza but how exactly did you come here and what are your plans?"
Curiously, Twilight noticed a warmer Celestia as she asked those questions, when normally there would be a certain edge to those words. Maybe Frieza wasn't some pony to be worried about.
On his part, the frost demon let out a chuckle, his gaze looking up at Celestia. "I understand your concerns, princess Celestia." He said, preparing himself and mentally shortening his tale as to not make it overly long. "Before hand I would like to apologize for my bluntness." He explained, noticing the princess shaking her head in a way to tell him not to worry, then Frieza began. "Just one day ago our universe was about to be erased by Zeno-sama."
Her heart and Luna's stopped right then and there. To the rest of the group watching, they found it surprising how pale they had gotten upon hearing those words, especially Celestia who was already white.
On her end, Twilight thought about the name Zeno, wondering if it was the cause of the reaction. For Celestia, time had stopped, a fear creeping up on her as she had never felt in her life before, a fear not even the likes of her worst foes could bring in her.
She knew who Zeno was.
Many ponies called to Faust on their pleadings, but she knew the truth about god and it was Zeno. The words Frieza spoke could may very well been nothing but a tale, but she could feel the frost demon wasn't lying.
"What happened?" Was all she could blurt out, her words causing the rest of the group to worry, as they had never seen Celestia as she was in that moment, all sweaty and wary.
"We won the tournament of power."
Her heart sunk further further. Discord was telling the truth, they did hold a tournament to decide the fate of the universes and the one that would be saved.
She remembered when Discord first came with the news, she could remember his paws shaking and his trembling voice when he told her about it. At the moment, she had thought it was but an excuse to leave the battle against Tirek, Sombra and Chrysalis, which led them to think Discord had been defeated.
She could also recall the team of their universe, as well as another entity she knew all too well.
Beerus, the god of destruction.
When they were fillies, Beerus was they type of god their parents told them not to cross nor anger.
Going back to the present, she turned to look at Luna, her expression gone in shock. Celestia couldn't believe how close they were from being all erased, which brought her to another topic.
Frieza didn't save them once... But twice and that second time as unknowingly as it may seem to some, held a lot of weight considering a whole universe was a stake. Suddenly a new type of expression appeared on her features: admiration, respect and gratefulness she had not felt in such a long time.
On her end, Twilight could see her former mentor approaching Frieza beyond what some would assume to be their comfort zone and most importantly, she could see the expression from which she saw the frost demon.
"Frieza, I take it you participated in the tournament?" She asked.
He smirked. "I was the last to stand alongside 17 and Goku." She had also heard those names from Discord, but she let it slid. Right then she focused on the frost demon.
Then she said it.
"Frieza, thank you."
In a surprising twist, Celestia warped her wings around the frost demon, who had an actually look of surprise on his face, which intensified once Luna joined in. He was on a complete loss for words in the extremely awkward moment that he silently wished would end. His eyes went wide and multiple red veins appeared on them, rage slowly building up. The group was surprised, they had never ever seen neither Celestia nor Luna like this, certainly not in regards to complete strangers.
This tournament of power, this Zeno could hold more impact than she had originally though and decided to investigate further in the matter.
Finally after a few seconds of torment ended, Celestia and Luna let go, letting an awestruck Frieza in complete silence. For Celestia and Luna, suddenly the importance of Frieza increased, as well as the events that transpired just one day ago. Tirek was right, the frost demon was strong and while she initially placed him just barely on top of the centaur, this recent moment made her realize just how much beyond Frieza actually was in comparison to anypony on the planet.
It was called the tournament of power for a reason and considering Beerus had chosen him and not them...
The rest of the group just stared in silence, which caught the attention of the Celestia and Luna.
"Princess?" Finally asked Twilight.
Almost immediately forgetting about Frieza, Celestia fazed a certain shy, ignoring her former student's question. "Fluttershy." She called her out, the meek mare looking at her. "He never abandoned us, Discord never lied you you." There was a collective head cocking as the group stared at the sun princess in full confusion.
Luna stepped in. "There are things beyond our existence, things that out weight even our own problems." Looking at her sister, before releasing a sigh. "Discord's actions were justifiable." She explained, getting a strange look from the group. "As dark and evil as our last days have been, there are things in the universe that overshadows our own and Discord was called forth to presence said events."
"You mean this tournament of power?" Asked Twilight.
Celestia shook her head. "Indeed, Twilight." She said, before looking back at a still absent minded Frieza, who looked like he had seen a ghost on the horizon. Smiling, she gazed back at her former student. "I believe that is a tale for another day, for now..."
Grunting in disappointment, Twilight looked at the ground.
Meanwhile Celestia approached Frieza. "I believe we still don't know how you came to be in this place and what your plans are."
He didn't answer, his eyes locked still on the horizon as a vein popped on his head. Unknowing to Celestia, Frieza had his fists clenched and she would have seen this action, if not for the sudden low earthquake that took everypony by surprise.
A new thing the frost demon had learned that day, he hated hugs.
"Frieza?" Celestia asked, a worried tone as she ignored the still going quake.
On his mind, he could hear her tiny voice, making his eye twitch and it took all of his will not to lash out and murder everyone. His body shook for a few moments, before he finally let out a deep breath, the earth no longer shaking after it. Then he used even more of his own will to fake a grin.
"My apologies princess, I was caught up on my thoughts." He said and regardless of how much he tried, his words still came strained and with a hint of violence to them, which caused Celestia to take notice.
On her mind however, she figured Frieza simply had a reaction to his personal space being invaded. Celestia understood that, she figured not everypony reacted the same way to hugs.
Her ears lowering a bit, she gave the frost demon an apologetic look. "I am deeply sorry for my actions, Frieza, we did not mean to make you feel uncomfortable."
His smile was gone and he simply gave her one silent nod.
After a few seconds of awkward silence, he finally decided to speak. "Think none of it for now and I believe we still had a matter at hand to discuss."
Her smile returning, Celestia gave a vigorous nod. "I believe that is is the case."
"Very well then." He said, placing a hand under his chin. "To make this tale short, after we won the tournament, I was brought back to life as a gift, but it seemed something happened in the process and I ended up in your planet." He explained. "As for my plans, I don't really have anything in mind, only to wait a couple days before I go back home." As he finished explaining, Frieza turned to look at the equines who had their eyes wide open.
"You died?" Rainbow asked.
He figured the next thing that would come would be several questions on the matter, especially considering the look Twilight in particular was giving him. He decided to stop that from happening.
"I know you may have questions about the event, but I would prefer that to remain with me for now." Everypony grunted in disappointment. "You all know the important part and I'm more preoccupied on what to do with my time here." I could just have fun conquering their world but... No, not now, I will leave that for later. He mentally thought, cackling at the thought.
"Then I guess it's time you decide where to stay Frieza." Celestia said, shaking any thoughts about the frost demon's resurrection.
"I quite agree, your highness, although I would prefer not bother any of you with any unwanted company."
The sun princess was about to intervene, but to her surprise her former pupil stepped in, letting out a chuckle. "You are way too kind Frieza and nod, you are not bothering anypony." She said. "In fact, I was about to propose for you to come with me to the castle until everything is settled."
"Not a bad idea, Twilight." Said Celestia, making the young alicorn to blush. On his part, Frieza gave it some thought. On one hand he would have a... Somewhat enjoyable company at the cost of the rest of the ponies and on the other, he would have to endure lots of hugs from...
Nope! He wasn't going to risk it and like that he chose the obvious answer.
Giving out a chuckle, Frieza stepped up front. "I would very much like to avoid another hugging session." He said, doing his best to let his words sound half joking-half serious, which made the two princesses to give the frost demon a sheepish smile. Frieza continued. "Besides, you seem like quite the interesting mare, dear Twilight." The alicorn's blush intensified.
"Then I guess its settled then?" Asked Celestia, smiling at the frost demon.
"It appears so."
And with that, the rest of the day went, a choice taken as they all walked towards the castle. Once there, Celestia would start her tale about Zeno and the tournament, but in that moment, they had decided to let it go.
÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷
A couple hours had passed since the royal sisters left her castle and Twilight was left to wander alone inside her home. Starlight and Spike had gone to sleep, while Frieza was given a room after which the young princess believed he was already in dream land.
To say things had goten very interesting for her, was an understatement. The tournament of power, the Zenos, the angels, gods of destruction, this Goku and 17 and a whole new set of edifferent universes. In truth, Twilight knew the universe was ful of life, with things they would never even grasp the surface of and in that moment, a visitor from the stars with such knowledge, was something Twilight found interest in.
It surprised her that Celestia and Luna had such information, yet not know about Frieza, something the sun princess had clarified. Apparently Beerus himself had come to their planet one time, for what reasons? The royal sisters decided to remain silent about the topic. It also seemed that the god of chaos didn't find it in his necessities to talk about the frost demon, which added yet another mystery.
All in all, the fact that Frieza was in her castle and residing with them for the time being, opened up a new set of possibilities for the young princess.
Letting the thoughts slide for a few moments, Twilight reached the entrance of her cutie map room, pushing the door aside to enter the place. She needed a place to think and a way to analyze the frost demon in regards to a very specific topic and what better place than a friendship analyzer.
Walking towards her seat, Twilight's mind went back to Frieza, thinking about what she had seen about him and trying to make sense of who he was. She couldn't be more grateful for what he had done, but she, as well as the rest of the group, had noticed something deeply wrong with their alien guest.
Twilight didn't know whether it was his mannerism, his eerie looks or just a simple aura he let out unknowingly, but the young princess was rather afraid of Frieza. Maybe it was just in her head and he was just a kind young guy with an unfortunate unsettling personality.
Then it happened.
Just as she sat on her place, the cutie map sprung to life, something the young princess was well accostumed by then, but not to was happening in front of her eyes. Moving her body away, Twilight's eyes wide opened, her mouth going agape and her chest began to pound faster at the sight.
There, in front of her, the holografic map of Equestria and beyond, began to violently blink as if it had static. Loud noises emanated from it, curiously resembling screams of agony and not long after, purple sparkles surrounded the image.
The room became illuminated by the same color, while violent thunder began straking against numerous parts of the ground as if the image was trying to stabilize itself, fighting against something that didn't let it work properly. Soon enough, the purple energy began to calm itself, soon forming an unstable dot that moved from the ceiling and towards a very specific location, which it seemed to be signaling.
Twilight narrowed her eyes at this, moving her body closer to where the strange purple dot was pointing at and then her eyes went wide.
It was her castle and more specifically, the very same place Frieza was currently resting at.
Twilight found herself sitting in the grass alongside her friends, who where sharing a laugh and enjoying a sunny afternoon eating flower sandwiches. It had been two days since Frieza arrived and they already grew accustomed to him.
Early that day, the frost demon had decided to leave the castle and explore Ponyville. Had it been another guest, she may have given it a second thought, but considering his amicable nature, she simply couldn't stand on his way. Like that, what was shaping up to be a terrifying experience, suddenly turned into quite a peaceful resolution of the events. Even her friends felt happy after the last days that had passed.
"I still kinda don't trust him." The rainbow maned pegasus cut the young princess' thoughts short, causing her to stare back at her friend with a slightly annoyed expression. Rainbow continued. "I mean, sure he saved us and all! But that face of his doesn't look like the kind type!"
Rarity scoffed at this. "Whatever do you mean with 'that face of his'?" She replied. "He has the most handsome and slick face I've seen in quite sometime and it certainly doesn't look evil!"
Applejack snorted at this, letting out a chuckle. "Ah' think that's your crush talking."
The unicorn blushed furiously, but held a frown in place. "So what? It's not always you come across a powerful alien with a good sense of fashion and actual manners!"
The cowpony rolled her eyes. "Rares, that's not fashion sense, those are his normal colors."
"Then that means he was born beautiful." She answered, getting a collective grunt in response.
Placing a hoof on her templates, Rainbow stomped the ground with the other. "We're getting off topic here!" She said, getting the attention of the group again. "Good looks or not, some ponies can be, you know... Evil!"
"I think he's actually quite gentle." Said the shy pegasus, a small grin on her face.
Rainbow rolled her eyes. "Fluttershy, you think everypony is nice."
"But he is!" Entered Pinkie, hopping over the blanket they had settled on the ground. "If he wasn't, then why did he accept the party I gave him?"
The blue pegasus grunted at this. "You do know he could be faking, right? I mean, did you see his reaction after the princesses hugged him?"
"Come on, Rainbow." Said Twilight. "You're giving this too much thought! He may simply feel uncomfortable to that kind of affection."
Exasperated, the rainbow manned pegasus grunted, crossing both hooves over her chest while being unable to understand just why the hay her friends were acting all friendly towards a being that had brutally killed a living being.
On her part and with a roll of her eyes, Twilight sighed deeply. In truth she did understand her friend, especially after what she saw in the frost demon, something that still sent chills down her spine, but considering how kind Frieza had been so far, she just figured Rainbow was just taking it all out of context.
"Look, Rainbow, I know you may have your doubts about him, but you will see in time that he is one of the good guys." She said, looking as the rainbow manned pegasus released a sigh of her own. "Besides, what's the worst thing that could happen?"
Boom!
Suddenly, the ground shook, a fire ablaze in the distance and its origin a place Twilight knew all too well. It had happened so fast and without notice that neither of the group had the time to even react at the scene. They were just standing, mouth agape at what had happened with no warning.
Canterlot was gone.
The castle, the houses around it and even the mountain that held them, vaporized in an instant. Like a sudden morbid surprise party, with its main attraction being an explosion of death and misery and the songs heard being the screams of agony and the fires ablaze. Nothing remained and only a cloud of thick smoke arose from the former foundation of her former teacher. Twilight felt her heart stop, a drop of sweat dropping down her forehead as her breathing increased. This was a state shared by her friends, who stood motionless staring at the blazing inferno. Then they heard it.
"Oh, Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho!"
Turning around, the group witnessed as Frieza came down floating, his golden body covered in blood that anypony with a brain would know it wasn't his.
"I have to say, dear Twilight, I was expecting the princesses to put more of a fight." He said, lifting his finger over his head, a maniacal grin plastered on his face. "Sadly, they were nothing more than weak morons..." His sadistic grin grew wider.
"... As the Elements themselves."
"Wait!" Twilight screamed, but it was of no use as Frieza put his finger in front of him and fired a blast against Fluttershy. Her eyes going white as the beam stinged against her, leaving a charred hole on her chest.
The next seconds went the same, as the frost demon's hand moved blindingly fast, killing everyone around her with ease. "Noooo!" Screamed the young alicorn, tears streaming down her face as she tried to wrap her mind around what just happened, all the while hearing the frost demon's maniacal laughter.
"And now, the last great and 'powerful' princess." He said, his finger pointing up towards Twilight, who used whatever strength she had left to stare at the frost demon.
"Frieza, why?" She asked, looking from teary eyes towards the figure of the emperor of evil.
The frost demon stared at her in silence, lowering his finger for a moment as he gave the answer some thought. Then a sadistic grin appeared on his features, something that sent chills down Twilight's spine.
"Why not?"
As the words left the frost demon's mouth, he lifted his finger once more, a glowing, red beam appearing from the tip and with it, Twilight prepared herself for the end.
Suddenly everything behind the frost demon exploded. Both Twilight and Frieza turned around in surprise as the ground was literally blown to the air. The forest, and Ponyville were gone in an instant and as she looked above, Twilight saw something in the frost demon's face.
Fear.
"Not now!" Exclaimed the frost demon, turning around to face the sudden wall of raging fire tat had raised from the ground, cracking the floor and boiling it to the point it literally steamed. Then something happened that caught Twilight by surprise, something that would haunt her dreams for years to come and with it, a sensation of dread and fear she had never felt in her life.
As the enormous wall of ire raged in front of a terrorized frost demon, a single silhouette rested on the other side. Twilight's eyes wide opened when the sickening feeling of familiarity assaulted her, not believing what she was seeing. A shadow in the shape of Frieza, watched amongst the flames, taller, scarier and behind him, a huge equine-looking shadow smiled at her. After that, the hot wall intensified and soon, everything was covered in glowing orange.
"As always, you are a disappointment, little brother.
"AAAAH!"
Twilight awoke with a scream, sitting on her bed and looking around her room like a madmare, while doing her best to stop her heart from jumping out of her chest. Her heavy breathing went in compass to her fast-moving chest and uneasy stare. What just happened?
"Twilight are you alright!?" The door opened abruptly, giving way to a startled Starlight. "Twilight!" She called to the young princess again, finally getting a reaction from her friend, who looked at her with a scared expression on her face.
"Frieza, where is he!?"
Starlight raised an eyebrow at this, taking interest in the rather afraid tone of her voice upon the mention of the name. Cocking her head to the side in confusion, the unicorn spoke. "He's inside the room you gave him." She answered, noticing how Twilight began to calm herself. "Why? Twilight what happened?"
The alicorn remained in place, giving herself time to still her breathing. Finally after a minute, she looked back at Starlight. "I- I had a nightmare." She said.
Starlight closed her eyes momentarily, letting out a a sigh at the young princess' clarification. She figured it was only natural after what had happened, especially since it marked the coming of their alien guest, which she wondered how much he was to blame for the unpleasant dream. "About Frieza?"
Twilight noded, her eyes wide open. "It was so horrible, Starlight!" She said, her voice trembling and her eyes about to release a new set of tears. "Canterlot had been blown up and my friends...." Placing both hooves over her eyes, she began sobbing. "Oh Faust, my friends."
She had a quick problem wording Faust, considering the whole thing about...
"Zeno..."
"Zeno?" Starlight asked. "You mean, that god Celestia was talking about?"
Panic seemed to take hold of the young princess' expression. "He isn't just 'a god'" Twilight exclaimed, fear creeping up on her face. "According to the princesses, he is THE god." Feeling her heart pounding hard, the alicorn placed a hoof atop her chest to try and ease her breathing.
While she remained silent, Starlight gave her friend a sympathetic look, gently placing her hoof on top of Twilight's shoulder. The unicorn just found it funny how the sole mention of the supposedly divine name made Twilight suddenly forget about the nightmare and Starlight couldn't really blame her. She herself had a hard time trying to wrap her head around the whole Zeno thing and was about to simply let it slip as nothing important until she recalled Frieza's reaction. Starlight was actually surprised to see someone as powerful as him trembling upon the name.
Twilight was in the same state.
"I just can't believe there's somepony out there powerful enough to erase everything with just a flick of his arm." She said, looking at Starlight with eyes wide open. "Somepony powerful enough that could destroy even somepony like Discord with little mind placed into it!"
As taken aback as Starlight was about the whole Zeno thing, she was rather curious about the nightmare Twilight had seemingly forgotten about and decided to get the topic back on track. Clearly it was too much information for everypony to handle. However, before she could say anything, the young princess jerked her head up, a confused and yet terrified look appearing on her features.
"There was some pony else..." She said, remembering the silhouette in her dream. "He looked like him, but..." Suddenly, Twilight grunted in pain, a stinging sensation hunting her forehead which was forcing the mare to rub it furiously with a hoof.
Starlight gave one step up front, placing her own arm around Twilight's neck, then pulled her friend close in a hug. "Just let it go for tonight, Twilight." She said, noticing her friend's shaking body. "It was just a dream."
It wasn't long before the slight pain faded, letting the young alicorn think clearly once more at the words of her friend. Was it really a dream?
The Frieza she dreamt off was more accurate to the one she initially met, but then again, so far he had been nothing but gentle and kind, especially after the hug both Luna and Celestia gave him, which she noticed he wasn't fond of. Maybe her mind had twisted genuine premonitions with her own fears, considering how afraid she was of Frieza's power, which made him look like a tyrant in her dreams and the other Frieza-type entity was just a way to separate the two personalities.
Yeah, that was probably it.
She still couldn't fathom beings beyond the power of even the princesses to exist, less one living amongst them. Suddenly unwrapping herself from Starlight's hooves, Twilight gave her friend a smile. "I'm better now, thanks!"
The unicorn nodded in return.
"Then you better get some rest, Twilight." Starlight said. "Remember Pinkie has the party prepared for tomorrow and you really don't want to be sleepy in it." Suddenly, the mare shuddered. "Remember how Pinkie gets when somepony isn't enjoying her parties."
Twilight gave her a healthy laugh, feeling enormous relief after the painful dream. With that Starlight turned around and was about to leave the room. As she did so, the young alicorn's thoughts came back to the frost demon and the air of uncertainty he expelled, causing Twilight to grunt in the unknown.
"Starlight wait!" She called, getting the attention of her friend. "Frieza is inside his room, right?"
Her friend nodded. "You want to talk to him? I could wake him up."
Twilight let out a chuckle. "No it's okay, thank you."
Starlight nodded once more. "Sleep well, Twilight!"
The alicorn smiled in return and it wasn't long before she was left alone in her room, her mind drifting to try and avoid thinking about her dream. She was having an internal debate between deciding on sleeping or get out of her place and into the library.
Falling to her side, Twilight saw the gentle drops of rain that fell outside her window. The young princess was still worried about their guest, but she was sure that once she saw his gentle treatment again, everything would be better. Still there was something at the back of her mind that told her Frieza being there was beyond the danger they normally faced and if he suddenly decided to go on a rampage, there would be nothing in Equestria that could stop him; not the princesses, not themselves, not Shining or any of their foes and not even the Rainbow power. Even thinking about Discord gave her a bit of doubt, but then again Discord was a god and Frieza wasn't.
Shaking her head, Twilight wondered if she was simply being silly about the matter. Again, Frieza had done nothing wrong with them and even put up a friendly face against situations that would have made anypony else a little bit angry. Her eyes slowly closing, she decided to let part of the dream go.
Then she fell asleep.
Outside the castle, a figure laid atop the star adorning the head of the palace, thinking as the gentle drops collided against his body.
Frieza had heard everything.
He wasn't worried in the least, especially considering any kind of trouble and he would just have to murder every single one of them, so hiding his other title as Emperor of evil wasn't exactly something that was a priority on his vacation plans in Equis.
The only good thing... For them, is that he didn't exactly feel like destroying Equestria... At the moment at least. Frieza was truly enjoying his stay for what it was worth, especially after the tense moments during the tournament, which while they were... Half fun, had satisfied his need for combat and torture.
No, right then, he was more interested in the certain shadow Twilight dreamt off, probably someone residing on Equis that her mind had symbolized in her dream.
With a smile on his face, Frieza felt glad about his race having excellent hearing and even more glad to confirm the authenticity of Twilight's dreams. They had not only uncovered his true nature, but they also provided him with possible fun.
Letting out a chuckle, Frieza floated down and watched through Twilight's window, noticing her fast asleep. "Rest well, dear Twilight." He said. "Things may get a lot more interesting, sooner than you think." Letting out another cackle, the frost demon went back to his room.
The storm outside continued.
With a loud, adorable yawn, Twilight stretched her limbs, hearing a few pleasant cracks as she sat up on her bed, getting ready for the day ahead... only to lazily lay down once more with no care in the world. While the young princess was the kind of pony obsessive enough to get up before even the sun was up, when she considered the last few days and her recent nightmare, Twilight just couldn't say no to a few more minutes of rest, besides, looking at the clock, she knew there were just a few hours left before the party Pinkie promised to Frieza.
And speaking of the frost demon, she actually felt a little better after the night she passed, mentally thanking Starlight, but also snickering at Spike who she just remembered was sleeping like a brick.
"Spike be Spike." She said with a sigh.
After half an hour, the young alicorn decided she had enough rest and soon stood up. After this, Twilight used her magic to get her bed ready, then walked over to her mirror to fix her tangled mane. Normally she would take a shower before doing so, but considering how wild Pinkie's parties were, Twilight figured the chances of sweating were higher. She would take a bath as soon as she returned.
Her mane ready, Twilight walked towards her door and went through the long hallways of the castle going to the main hall and the place where they had dining room. She was only half way when she heard a familiar voice.
"Holly molly, dude! That is awesome!" The voice said. "I've seen Twilight level a mountain, but you can actually blow up planets!"
Twilight smiled warmly.
She figured everypony was already up and waited for her and Spike had taken interest in Frieza. She could only shake her head imagining the face on the frost demon upon being assaulted by questions. Getting closer, she heard Spike again.
"Heck! Luna can move the moon and Celestia the sun, but you could blow up those two!"
Just in that moment, Twilight pushed the doors and walked inside the room, gaining the attention of everypony present. "Don't get any ideas, Spike, there will be no planetary blow ups."
In her mind, she had actually found the conversation rather disturbing, considering it was basically genocide, but decided let it slip, taking it as nothing more than a joke in spite of his abilities. Not that she had any doubts that Frieza could indeed blow up a planet, but for the short time she knew him, it was enough to recognize his dark sense of humor.
"Morning dear Twilight, I was starting to worry you wouldn't make it to miss Pie's party."
Before she could answer, Starlight walked into the room, grabbing a bunch of plates with her magic. Considering the little facts shared by the frost demon a day before, she made sure to prepare something edible for him, which ended up with something simple. Pancakes. "If she knows what she's getting into, I'm sure Twilight wouldn't risk missing Pinkie's parties."
The frost demon chuckled at this. "I'll be sure to remember that." Extending his arm to grab his own plate. "Much appreciated, miss Glimmer."
"Don't worry about it, Frieza." Answered Starlight.
Twilight smiled at the scene, everypony sitting around the table, just waiting for her, peaceful. Suddenly a voice cut her thoughts short.
"I take it you slept well, dear Twilight." Frieza said.
Twilight let out a chuckle, sitting on her chair in front of Frieza, who had curiously sat at the opposing head. "I wish that was the cases Frieza, but I had a bit of a bad nightmare."
"If it is not an inconvenience, would you like to share it with us, Twilight?"
She gave his request a thought for a couple moments, before looking back at the frost demon. She saw in that moment something in his expression, behind his friendly smile. Something dark, twisted, almost as if he knew about her dream before-hoof and was only enjoying her torture. Shaking her head slightly, Twilight figured her dream was getting the better of her.
With a sigh, she looked once more at the frost demon. "Actually, I would like to forget about it." She said, her face falling for a few moments before her smile appeared again. "How about you, Frieza? How was your night?"
Frieza's knowing look faded away, as he sat back, crossing his arms in front of his chest. "I have to say, dear Twilight, it has been a while since I had a bed that comfortable."
"That's good to know." Answered Twilight. "You're gonna need a lot of energy for the party."
Placing a hand under his chin, Frieza cocked his head to the side. "There's been much talk about miss Pie's party," he said, "should I be nervous about it?"
Twilight giggled at this. While true, Pinkie could get a little... Weird, the talk of her parties being dangerous became a common misconception. "Not at all Frieza and if you don't mind the advice, just... You know, enjoy it."
With a cackle, Frieza cut a piece of the pancake, then eat the small chunk with as much class as any royalty, which considering his previews status, it was to be expected. A couple seconds passed until he finished chewing, cutting another piece of the pancake while looking at it in deep thought.
"To be honest with you, dear Twilight," he began, "I've never exactly been the soul of the party." He was right, especially considering the last couple of celebrations he could remember, ended up with floors and walls painted in blood and him laughing at the middle of the carnage.
With a chuckle of her own, Twilight shook her head. "You know? I actually can't imagine you as the type to go wild."
In that moment, his eyes met hers, his expression making everypony present suddenly stare at him with worried faces. "Oh, but I do get wild." He giggled, his mouth forming a gentle yet wicked grin. Starlight noticed something extremely familiar about Frieza, something that screamed at her in the back of her mind, almost forcing her to look at him as a mirror. Without noticing, her breathing fastened.
On her part, Twilight silently wondered how he could be so friendly and unsettling at the same time. This fact had caused her to loose her voice, staring at Frieza's sadistic smile as the moment turned more and more uncomfortable. Noticing this, Starlight took a few breaths and decided to give her friend a little hoof.
Clearing her throat, she caught the attention of the frost demon and prepared to talk, but panicked the moment no words managed to come out of her mouth.
The scene was a delight to Frieza. He would keep his silent word of not destroying them at the moment, but that didn't mean he couldn't have a little bit of fun watching them squirm and stare at him in uncertainty and fear. Moving his gaze to land on the small drake, Frieza saw him looking between Twilight and Starlight, refusing to have eye contact with the frost demon.
Regardless of how excited Spike was with Frieza, he still feared him for some reason.
A few moments of torment passed until Frieza decided he had enough fun. With a chuckle, he began to speak. "Of course, I wouldn't ruin a gift such as this, especially since miss Pie took the time to actually prepare it for someone she had never met in her life."
Silence continued for a couple more seconds, making Frieza consider he might have overstepped his fun. Suddenly, Twilight gave a genuine hearty laugh. "Wow, Frieza! I just find it surprising how you literally send chills down my spine, while being so nice to us!"
Starlight gave her friend a silent nod, which was also shared by Spike.
Letting out a chuckle of his own, Frieza let put the warmest of smiles he could make to appease the situation. "So I've been told before, dear Twilight." He said. "I apologise for whatever sense of uncertainty I might have caused you."
"Don't worry about that, Frieza." Answered Starlight. Wanting to change the conversation, she brought up another topic.
"How are the pancakes, by the way?" She asked. "This was actually the first time I make them with apple slices! I just hope they are at least passable."
Taking another bite, Frieza grinned. For what was worth, they really were good. "Then maybe I should congratulate the chef, miss Starlight." The unicorn blushed at that and like that, the atmosphere returned to normal.
Thinking back at the party, Frieza, being a tyrant and all, still had manners. Something his father had always told him, is that it was better to be five minutes earlier than five minutes later and while he wasn't exactly looking forward to waste his time, the frost demon had to admit he was kind of curious about what the pink monstrosity could do. And like that, the breakfast continued, only the occasional question and small talk following.
A couple hours passed and the group were already on their way. Frieza was floating in front of the two mares and the young drake, who found themselves talking. On his part, the frost demon was deep in thought, surprised that the pink beast's party was occupying his thoughts that much.
In reality, he didn't know what to expect and that disgruntled him. Annoying or not, Pinkie seemed like an enigma... A disgustingly pink enigma. Would the party be child-like? Was it going to be more peaceful and easy going? Or maybe out of control and chaotic? And most importantly Why do I keep wasting my time thinking about such a moronic waste of time? He thought.
In truth, Frieza did enjoy a festivity like that, especially when everyone knew their place, but in this case there were a lot of unknowns. He hated to admit it, but he thanked his defeats at the hands of Goku, which have given him a few lessons. Thanks to him, the frost demon went out of his comfort zone easier than before and since that's how he achieved his golden form, Frieza knew it worked.
Looking at the place where he was already sensing Pinkie, the frost demon figured he would simply go blindly. If Frieza didn't like it, he very much doubted anyone would even dare stopping him. That was certainly going to put all that time spent learning patience in hell, to test.
A couple minutes more, the group was already at the door, Frieza noticing the lights off.
Placing a hand over his eyes while letting out a sigh, he silently wondered if the pink beast seriously planned a surprise party after fully knowing she had told him about it before hand. Leaving the fact that he could sense several ki signatures, to the side, the very decision of pretending the festivity to be a surprise was outright moronic.
"Frieza?"
Twilight's voice called the attention of the frost demon, who turned to look at her. "Forgive my bluntness, but I see no reason in miss Pie's decision to pretend this is a surprise."
Twilight shook her head, grinning a bit at her friend's antics. "Sometimes the best course of action is not to take it too seriously." Frieza deadpanned, causing Twilight to shrug. "Pinkie will be Pinkie."
With a long deep sigh, he turned around and placed a hand over the door. "I never thought I would willingly open the gates of hell."
Hearing multiple chuckles behind him, Frieza opened the door. As much as he suspected, there were several ponies "hidden" amongst the darkness, most of which were relatively weak and others who...
How interesting... The frost demon thought.
There, hiding alongside the citizens, were Celestia and Luna themselves. Curious, considering their position of power in comparison to the rest of the equines, but then again, Equestria had shown a rather defective way of ruling. Maybe the party wasn't going to be such a waste after all, unless the hugging came...
"Surprise!"
The lights suddenly turned on, farcing Frieza to cover his eyes for a few seconds, then took a good look at everypony present. He was once again surprised to actually notice most of the townsfolk in there. How the hell do they fit? He asked himself, breaking his mind while trying to warp reality to the situation, but ultimately decided to take Twilight's advice and not question it.
"... rprised!? Are you surprised!? Are you surprised!? Are you surprises!? Are you surprised!?"
Letting himself get carried away once more, caused Frieza to completely ignore the first words of the beast's sentence and only heard what could be considered the general idea. Looking ahead, he saw her, bouncing like a maniac while asking the same damn question over and over again. Deciding to ignore her, he gazed at the rest of the ponies, who stood in silence, an imbecilic smile plastered on their faces as they waited in silence for him to say something.
He sighed What a way to start...
Letting out a forced grin, Frieza walked towards Pinkie. "You are one big box of surprises, miss Pie." Said, making sure to let the next words sound as sarcastic as they could. "I could have never suspected this joyful party to await me behind the door."
If she would feel bad or good, he really didn't care. Surprisingly, though, her smile grew wider. "Aww! I'm glad you liked it!" Before he could say anything else, she took him by surprise and placed a cone hat over his head. He was on a loss for words as she dematerialized on thin air.
I'm just going to ignore that...
With that, the party started. The group that came with him, went towards one of the tables inside and talked to the other ponies he had met a day before, including the Rainbow manned one who casted quick wary side glances at him. He decided to ignore her.
Alone on his thoughts, Frieza noticed the enormous banner that read "Welcome to Ponyville Mr. Frost demon!" Amusing... He thought.
"So good to see that you came to Pinkie's party, Frieza." The frost demon's words were cut short, feeling something creeping up on his spine as his body shuddered. It became worse when he felt a hoof over his back. "I've been dying to talk to you."
A sweat ran down his forehead as he heard the seductive tone of the luscious pony. "M-miss Rarity." He said, trying to remain calm but utterly failing. The princesses' hugs were one thing. Rarity's approaches were another.
"I figured you would like good company." She said, standing in front of the frost demon whose eyes twitched. Hastily moving back to stay away from the unicorn, the frost demon gave her an amicable grin. "I-its always a pleasure, miss Rarity."
She just stared at him and smiled, simply... Smiled. Frieza silently wondered if that's how some beings felt when he stared at them. Suddenly, his panicked expression disappeared as he felt two particular ki signatures. About damn time!
"Princesses, I did not expect to see you here." He said, turning around to greet the two royalties alongside Rarity.
"We were considering whether to come or not, but in the end we figured it wasn't every day you get to be in a party for an alien." The sun princess said.
The frost demon chuckled, giving Celestia a playful frown. "I believe that alien has a name, your highness."
Luna snorted at this, a grin appearing on her face. "And which of the two names would that be?"
"As amusing as I find the title miss Pie gave me, I still enjoy the name my father thought was best." He answered, placing a hand a top his chest.
Celestia and Luna noticed something rather endearing about the frost demon, something they identified with. They saw the respectful mention towards his parent, a hint of love and admiration on the frost demon's features, which made the royal sisters wonder what kind of alien he is or was.
Cocking her head to the side, Celestia looked with interest at the emperor of evil. "Say, what is your father's name?"
Frieza's smile went wider, taking enormous pride to let know those two low-level equines about his parent. "Cold, your highness and our empire knew him as King."
"King Cold, uh?" Repeated Luna, rubbing her chin with interest.
Silence endured for a couple seconds until the sun princess decided to change the topic."So how are you enjoying the party, Frieza?" Celestia asked.
Cocking his head to the side in confusion, Frieza spoke. "It's a little too early to say, don't you think princess?"
She chuckled in return. "Indeed it is." She said, her gaze falling on Rarity, who had remained silent the entire time.
A devious smile appeared on her face which Frieza caught instantly. "Maybe we should leave you two then, there will be plenty of time for talking later."
She could almost chuckle at the almost panicked state of Frieza's look, who subconsciously shook his head. "Nonsense, your highness, there is plenty of time for..."
"Ta-ta, Frieza!" Celestia answered, waving a goodbye with her hoof as she went away, followed by Luna who was chuckling at his expense.
Did she just leave me here!?
"So, how was your first night at Twilight's?" Rarity asked, her voice bringing Frieza back to his reality. Although, thankfully, she didn't sound as... Needy as she did before.
Looking back at her and knowing he wouldn't be able to escape his horrid fate, Frieza figured he could put in good action the teachings on manners his father gave him. Letting out a breath, he gave Rarity a grin and motioned with his hand towards the enormous table at the other side of the room. "How about we go for a drink first, miss Rarity."
She smiled in return. "Not a bad idea."
Turning around, the frost demon mentally prepared himself for the incoming hours until suddenly, he felt her hoof wrapping itself around his arm. He almost chocked on his own saliva, if it wasn't for his last minute reaction.
Frieza had to admit, Rarity was unsettling.
Without any of the two knowing, a certain drake watched the scene, an angry look plastered on his face.
It had been a couple of hours since the party had started and contrary to what Frieza expected, it wasn't as "wild" as he had thought. If anything, it was quite plain and boring, but then again, his parties usually involved mass murdering.
That time had been spent talking with Rarity, which involved a few tales and talks of her daily work in a clothing shop. It also included questions about Frieza's own species and further family information, which he had no problem sharing, especially when it involved boasting his father's status and diminishing his brother's.
At one moment, the chat went through the matter of his natural colors, with Rarity recalling his golden form. He had to admit, whenever she wasn't drooling over him, the unicorn was actually quite a tolerable company, especially since she had manners other ponies lacked.
Amongst the talk, he also learned of the group's signature 'weapon': The Elements of harmony. He silently scoffed at the name and wondered if anything in that planet was as sickly innocent as the name of a supposed power.
Regardless, the mention of turning evil beings into stone did catch his attention, as much as knowledge that the elements had been given up at one point then returned after yet another 'catastrophe' had assaulted Equestria. It was quite a convoluted story in the eyes of the emperor of evil, who actually wondered how much of a effect these Elements would have with his evil nature. In truth, Frieza believed he was powerful enough to ravage his way out of the stone, should the need arise.
However, the icing on the cake for the frost demon, was what lead the Elements' talk to another entity he knew quite well, by the name of Discord, the god of chaos he had met back at the tournament. In truth, Frieza thought Discord was nothing more than a sad excuse of a god and a joke, plain and simple, yet he envied his power as much as he envied Beerus'.
Abilities like those would certainly not be lost on his hands. The next pieces of information didn't catch the frost demon's interest as much, as he could care less about the weak events that led to a certain Nightmare moon, nor the rise of Equestria's enemies he had personally killed and even less about the supposed Changeling's that had left their former attitudes behind. All of those topics were just not important for him, nor worthy of attention.
Thankfully, before the chat could go blander, other ponies called for his company, forcing Rarity to excuse herself and leave the frost demon to his own thoughts.
His attention shifted, the emperor of evil turned around over to the nearest table, walking amongst the crowd of equines until he made his way towards Pinkie's enormous vanilla pastry. Placing both hands behind his back, Frieza remained silent, contemplating and thinking about his next course of action and although, he initially resisted the urges, the frost demon ultimately grabbed the nearest knife at the table and cut a large piece of the cake, it was his after all. Ignoring the rest of the equines, Frieza grabbed a nearby spoon, cutting yet another large piece of his portion before leading it to his mouth and soon feeling the expected sensation of sweetness and icing, yet...
The frost demon gritted his teeth in anger as he recognized it actually tasted good.
It seemed the pink menace had at least one thing going for her, which was a huge plus in his book. True, he didn't have the same monstrous appetite of Goku, but he did enjoy large meals and a good portion of pastries.
Letting that anger slip, Frieza turned around, plate on hand as he silently ate the cake, carefully cutting and consuming chunk after chunk until the pastry was no more. Setting the plate aside, the frost demon simply crossed both arms over his chest and observed everypony inside, noticing how several of them still exchanged fearful glances with him.
The whole thing caused Frieza to start feeling the tiresome sensation of boredom, after all, he was not going to participate in activities such as dancing, nor the games Pinkie had settled and it wasn't long before he would decide to take his leave.
Before he did so, however, some of Twilight's other friends attempted a conversation with him, all of them amicable but the talks were short and to the point, often as plain as a simple 'how are you enjoying the party?'.
In a way, he missed Rarity's conversation, at least they had an understanding... As morbid as that seemed to the emperor of evil. True, he had also expected to engage in a conversation with Twilight herself, but it seemed that the mare was currently taken by a bunch of equines.
Those thoughts aside, Frieza found an amusing change as time progressed, with talks of his fight against the three pathetic weaklings spread in more detail amongst the masses in the present party. All of that courtesy of a unicorn he identified as Trixie, the mare that just kept reminding him of Raditz.
Then a topic appeared that was actually quite appealing to him.
"Who do you think would win in a fight between the princesses and the frost demon!" Trixie, screamed, atop of a table as everypony in the party shared in on the fictional fight.
He did found it amusing how the crowd was divided and how nervous the princesses actually looked. Sure, he had humility forced into his face when Toppo brutalized him, but he still enjoyed seeing lesser beings trembling at his name.
Whether due to the drinks or sheer stupidity, for some reason the crowd, minus the so called Elements of harmony, began to chant a word that gave Frieza ecstasy.
"Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!"
Frieza was fully surprised by the sudden turn of events, wondering how it was that mongrels such as those equines, would so blatantly go ever the princesses' authority to condone such insubordination, but then again, considering how defective the royal sisters were starting to seem in the eyes of the frost demon, it was to be expected. With that in mind, Frieza looked back at them and smirked at Celestia, who did her best to hold a smile while her mind raced through the implications.
Oh! I so knew you were going to get back at us for leaving you with Rarity . The sun princess thought, her mind-words being answered by Frieza whose smile widened as if he had some sort of telepathic discussion with her.
Neither she nor her sister wanted to test their abilities against Frieza, as they were aware of his capabilities, that for them, went barely over a full powered Tirek.
"Okay, okay, that's enough everypony!" Both Luna and Celestia released the breath they were holding as they saw Twilight pushing Trixie down to give herself room to stand at the top of the table. "All of you are forgetting that Celestia and Luna are our princesses and that they are above these kinds of practices." She said, a pleased smile forming on their faces. "You are also forgetting that Frieza is not here to deliberately hurt your rulers!"
Are you sure about that? Thought Frieza.
Twilight continued. "Therefore there will be no fight that could leave a stain on anypony's relationship!"
She smiled, noticing how the crowd began calming their excitement at her words, while leaving a frowning Trixie to grunt, who shortly after, received a small smack on the head, courtesy of Starlight.
Twilight was about to get down, when her plan utterly failed.
"Actually, I wouldn't mind having a small sparring session with your powerful rulers." The princesses' hearts stopped at this and at the same time the fire for a battle re-kindled amongst the crowd.
"Frieza, what are you doing!?" Asked Twilight, frowning at the grinning frost demon.
He chuckled. "Just giving a vote of confidence to the princesses, don't you trust them to give me a fight, dear Twilight?"
She was at an impass. Twilight knew the image of a ruler was important, regardless of how free Equestria was, yet having to fathom how the royal sisters', especially Celestia's carefree attitude would get them to share blows with a powerful intergalactic warlord, due to their subjects' sudden needs, was something she couldn't let pass.
Looking back, she noticed both Luna and Celestia in complete silence. They, as Twilight, knew how outclassed they were.
Returning her gaze to Frieza's, she noticed the smirk he was giving her and she recognized it. It was the Frieza she had met back at the last stand against the triad, the Frieza that made her blood run cold, the brute animal behind the gentle facade.
Twilight was about to voice her concern, when the unimaginable happened.
"We accept the challenge." The room went silent and on her part, Twilight's eyes shot open, as she heard her old mentor's voice. Looking at them, she noticed their determined faces regardless of how much the stakes were against them and even in spite of their visible fear.
Twilight narrowed her eyes as she saw something else in the royal sister's eyes. There always was something that appeared on the princessess' expressions whenever they would battle and it varied depending on the situation. Whether the thrill of a spar, a minor inconvenience, anger or just sheer survival.
In that moment, Twilight saw the four of them combined.
They were terrified, for sure, but they were no cowards. On his part, Frieza looked at them with a curious look, half expecting them to back down. The frost demon had to admit, they had gained his respect... An extremely small and almost non-existent amount of course.
As the crowd parted to the sides, both parties walked towards each other until they were inches apart.
"I have to say, your highness, you managed to surprise me once more." Frieza spoke, noticing the frown they held, although not one of anger, but rather one of determination given to what some would consider friends.
"Regardless of how much we admire your capabilities, Frieza, my sister and I hardly walk away from a challenge."
He chuckled, not out of mockery but actual amusement.
"So," he began, "where do you want to start this sparring session?"
Celestia smiled at him, her eyes still narrowed. "I was thinking at the edge of the Everfree forest, to avoid anypony getting hurt."
Frieza cocked his head to the side. "Still many will want to see." He stated. "I guess we will have to hold back our power."
Both princesses gratefully smiled at him, silently pleased that Frieza would consider how important their subjects were. In reality, he didn't care about them. Going all out would be devastating for the planet and these ponies were interesting enough for him to consider not killing them.
With a nod of confirmation, Celestia spoke. "It appears that is the case, Frieza."
The frost demon nodded back. "Then I guess no golden form... For now."
Lowering her head with a small shake, Celestia let out a chuckle. "You're doing this as payback for what happened earlier don't you, Frieza?"
The frost demon gave her a hearty laugh. "I'm not one to let grudges slip, Celestia."
She grinned at him, her horn charging up. "Are you ready?" He nodded back and with that, everypony present at the party disappeared.
÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷
"I can't believe they actually agreed to go with this!" Twilight yelled in anger, incredulously noticing how excited most of the ponies were. Then her eyes landed on Trixie, who almost as if they shared a connection, felt Twilight's eyes staring at her. The unicorn did her best to pretend she wasn't there and ignored the alicorn.
Twilight grunted in annoyance.
"Yeah, I don't feel too good about this either, but then again..." Starlight said, a hoof under her chin. "Frieza did say he was going to hold back."
Applejack perked her ears at this, disappointment visible on her face. "You mean we won't be seein' that golden form thingy?"
"He better not or he won't like what's coming to him!" Rainbow fumed, staring daggers at the frost demon who currently found himself getting prepared for the fight.
Applejack shook her head at this. "Rainbow, you should really stop antagonazin' Frieza, he ain't done nothin' wrong to us."
"And picking a fight with the princesses isn't wrong!?" She retorted.
With a long deep breath, Twilight scratched the back of her head thinking about the specific words said by Rainbow. "Well," she began, getting the attention of the group, "he didn't exactly pick a fight, not when he specified sparring, plus, he did say he was going to hold much of his power back."
Rainbow roared in anger, rolling her eyes. "And what about Pinkie? She made this party for him and he just simply ruined it!"
The aforementioned party pony placed a hoof under her chin. "I did initially think he was a meany pants for stopping the party."
"Ha! See!?" Yelled Rainbow, a look of victory on her face.
That was until Pinkie's expression brighted up. "But then he came to me to apologize for ending it early, so I'm okay with it!"
At this, the blue pegasus simply lowered her hooves, sighing in defeat.
Suddenly, a chuckle took her attention. "Rainbow, darling, you really shouldn't concern too much about this." Said Rarity, who was currently laying down on the grass. "In the end, Frieza is a gentlecolt, regardless of his fighting needs and he won't overstep into seriously injuring the princesses."
Rainbow rolled her eyes, on his part, a certain young drake remained sat in there with his eyes closed and a frown visible on his face.
Twilight, noticing this, decided to step closer and proceeded to approach his shoulder with her hoof. "Spike..."
"It's starting!" Trixie's yells caught their attention, as she suddenly stood on her hind legs, placing both arms to the sides in excitement to let the rest know of the incoming expectacle. Shaking her head at the unicorn's simple-minded thoughts, Twilight gazed back at Spike. She knew what was angering him, but decided to leave that for later.
Her plan made, Twilight looked back at the open space at the edge of the Everfree and towards the soon to begin battle amongst Equestria's most powerful beings and the universe's most terrifying unknown.
Suddenly, she started laughing at what she was seeing, an action mirrored by many ponies who noticed the same thing Twilight had, who had completely forgotten about her gripes when she was caught up in the moment.
There, atop of Frieza's head, rested the party cone hat, hilariously covering the center of his big bald head. The laughs continued, but the frost demon paid them no mind.
"We're ready, Frieza!" Yelled Luna, her face as well as her sister's no longer showing a compassionate look, but rather the expression of a warrior.
Frieza chuckled at this. "And also eager I see."
Celestia gave him a warm smile. "We apologize in advance if we fail to meet your expectations."
At this, the frost demon waved his hand in dismissal. "Think nothing of it, your highness, besides this will help me avoid getting rusty." He said, his expression then turned serious. "Still, I don't plan going easy on either of you, so I hope you give this your best." As soon as those words left his mouth, he prepared for the incoming attack.
The princesses did the same... Until they noticed the cone hat.
Both royal sisters snorted at this, laughing at his expense while wishing Frieza didn't make it a new grudge. On his part, the frost demon cocked his head to the side, slightly annoyed by the intercourse. "Is something amusing you?"
Between laughs, Celestia managed to catch her breath and pointed with her hoof towards his head. "You do realize you still have your cone hat, don't you?"
Frieza lifted both eyebrows, until something made click. So that's what those morons were laughing at. He thought.
Without any words he decided to shut the crowd up.
Closing his eyes, Frieza took hold of the cone hat, then squashed it in his fist before throwing it behind him and towards the still laughing crowd. Suddenly he opened his eyes and turned half of his body around, raising a finger towards the hat that was close enough to the crowd and fired.
In a moment, nopony was laughing anymore.
Several wide open eyes stared at him in silence and fear, staring at the wicked grin of the frost demon who had just pulverized the cone hat in a red explosion. Even the princesses stopped their laughter.
Frieza had made a point.
Turning back, he fazed the royal sisters. "Shall we start then?"
A few seconds of silence passed before a set of roars took hold of the open space, both sisters flying against the frost demon who simply stood still with his grin still in place and both open palms at his side, slowly floating off the ground.
Celestia raised her hoof, ready to connect against Frieza, but he vanished in an instant. Luna flew past her and disappeared unto the sky, leaving Celestia to react in time to barely avoid a kick from the frost demon.
With another roar, she blasted against Frieza who dodged once more with ease, this time giving Celestia an opening, who disappeared and reappeared behind the frost demon. Her blast was soon to collide, creating a small explosion which caused the crowd to roar in excitement.
Celestia's smile of victory was wiped off her face when she suddenly felt an incredibly horrible pain in her stomach. Frieza made it out of the smoke and collided her with his fist. She could see his smirk, regardless of the very few scratches.
He was really holding back, yet his speed was as fast as she had expected, as well as his overconfidence.
Good.
"What's the matter, Celestia?" He asked in a taunting voice at the aforementioned princess, who was clutching her stomach as she tried to catch her breath, not noticing the dead silence from everypony. "I'm not even using half my power and you can't even make me break a sweat." He continued. "Should I call off this sparring and show Ponyville how pathetic and weak their princesses really are?"
She immediately frowned at his words, then with another roar and faster than he could react, Celestia fired another blast against his face, this time the impact was larger and more powerful.
She didn't waste any second before she blasted once more against the ground, with the attack drilling the earth before disappearing out of sight. After that, Celestia charged up her horn and her body soon became illuminated in a bright orange light, that once it faded, left the sun princess with a thick shield around her.
That set, Celestia prepared for Frieza's inevitable attack, as her horn glowed once more, the ground violently shaking for a few moments. Suddenly she was smirking.
Bam!
A purple blast exploded behind her, the shield receiving the impact full force without giving in to the frost demon's tremendous power.
"A shield!?" He asked, his voice lauder and with a hint of mocking joy. "Are you really so weak as to hide behind a cheap trick!?" He said, his finger pointed up as numerous blasts went out from its tip.
Celestia gritted her teeth behind the spell and wide opened her eyes when in the blink of her eyes, Frieza punched her magical barrier, which once more was resisting the brutal attacks.
The frost demon continued to punch and kick the sphere, with Celestia flying backwards from the impacts while her eyes focused on Frieza's. Noticing an opening, she suddenly made the magic disappear and blasted Frieza before making the bubble protect her once more.
The crowd was cheering once more, noticing how their princess was holding her own.
Suddenly, whatever thought Celestia had, was cut short the moment a white fist completely broke the sphere, causing her to go sailing back to the ground. She heard a chuckle before a big orange ball of energy collided against her, causing Celestia's eyes to go wide.
Frieza laughed in contempt. "You think a shield that pathetic would stop me!?" He yelled, feeling his victory easily assured...
Until his senses picked up something that surprised him.
"Not really, I was just counting on it to take your attention long enough."
"Uh?" Without any warning, an enormous rock collided against his head, managing to stop his smirk and actually doing damage.
The frost demon growled, hunching his body and closing both fists tightly, while noticing Celestia floating above him, a smirk plastered on her face.
Frieza went from his curled up position and back to his royal straight one. Soon after, his frown faded as a calm expression took over. Both opponents stared in silence while the skies went grey, drops of water falling unto the battlefield, soon accompanied by numerous thunders.
Suddenly, the frost demon smiled. "Not bad, your highness."
Celestia smiled back. "We ponies are full of surprises, Frieza."
Frieza chuckled at this, his eyes narrowing once more. "Let's see how much those surprises will help you." With that, he roared, sailing through the sky and towards Celestia.
Only to feel another rock collide against him, which although big enough, it didn't really do any damage to his back. It wasn't long before he felt another rock straight in the chest and with that, several others followed. His instincts taking in, Frieza used his finger blasts to pulverize any rock that was about to hit him as well as using his fists to destroy the ones that were too close.
Amongst the sky chaos, he began to track Celesta, using her ki for reference until her silhouette was visible, after that, the frost demon used the numerous boulders to help him get across the literal asteroid rain and towards the sun princess' location in the sky.
On her part, Celestia could see Frieza getting closer.
It was moment for the next part of her plan to take place. She grinned at the frost demon, not out of mockery but surprise. He was powerful, sure, miles above any of them, but she had thousands of years of experience behind her that would help her keep up with him... At least on his weakened state.
She had to shudder while thanking Zeno he had decided to stay in his white form, otherwise...
"Ha!"
She condemned herself for being lost on her thoughts, causing Frieza to close the gap between them and once they were face to face, he roared in anger, his body exploding in a lilac color which sent her flying backwards as well as destroying every rock around him.
She composed herself mid air to attack him once more, but her heart stopped once she noticed he wasn't there anymore. With a gasp, something wrapped itself around her neck, her hooves managing to grasp what she recognized as Frieza's tail.
He forced her pipe to close, careful enough not to snap her neck and brought her close to his face.
"Out of surprises so quickly, your highness?"
Before she could even react, the princess screamed in pain as she felt her back being burned by a blast, the drops of water touching her skin as she winced.
With one movement, he dropped the princess to the ground with the rest of the ponies watching and gasping upon seeing Celestia hit the ground. On her part, Twilight tried to run towards her former mentor, only to be stopped by Starlight, who was staring daggers at Frieza.
That wasn't the attack of a hero and neither of a good being. It was one she recognized first hoof, the one of evil.
On his part Frieza couldn't help but to release a chuckle. She was certainly strong and he was more than sure that had he faced her in the state he was when he fought Goku back on Namek, she would have defeated him.
But he was leagues beyond that by that moment and Celestia wasn't, as such the outcome was inevitable. Rasing his finger, a purple blast began to charge, the ponies below scared at his action while Twilight and the rest of the group prepared to face the frost demon regardless of their little chances.
The ki ball was about to leave his hand when something happened.
"Uh?" A dark tendril took hold of his arm and before he could even react, his body became electrocuted.
Frieza gritted his teeth, grunting in pain as smoke left his body. Between breaths he looked up, his eyes narrowing in realization. He had completely forgotten about Luna.
Above him, floated the night princess, a dark scowl on her face which made Frieza realize she was about to shock him harder. Powering up a little, he attempted to get free from his grasp, his eyes seeing Celestia's prone position on the ground.
Once he was done with Luna, he was going to finish the sun princess.
Frieza screamed into the air, a purple glow taking over his body when...
"What!?"
Another tendril, this one bright orange, took hold of his other arm, instantly setting him ablaze. Between the powerful energy he gazed back at the ground, his eyes widening once he noticed Celestia's body disappearing.
A physical projection!? He thought, realizing he had fallen unto the princesses' hoof, while cursing his own cocky behaviour.
Between his screams of rage, Frieza saw Celestia and Luna smirking at him, the former getting close to him.
"As I told you before, Frieza, we ponies have a lot of surprises."
She didn't even give him time to react before he was brought back down to the ground, his back colliding against the dirt. As powerful as his holding was, he could break free without reaching his golden form.
He concentrated to destroy his shackles, when yet another surprise caught his attention. Under him the ground began to shake and only until it was too late, he recalled Celestia blasting against the ground.
Then a tower of light was blasted from beneath him, shooting up to the sky.
Everypony cheered in excitement, while Twilight and her friends released the breath they were holding and relaxed. Perhaps the princesses had the battle won at the end of the day. Meanwhile at the middle of the still going blast, rested a figure, who amongst the light...
Smirked.
Soon enough, the blast stopped, giving way for the royal sisters to gracefully land a few feet away from the frost demon and giving them one good look at his body.
He was scratched, scorch marks adorned his body as well as numerous cuts. Celestia wide opened her eyes, she hadn't expected her attacks to injure him this badly. This caused her to give a few steps towards him. "Frieza, I-Im sorry, I didn't realize..." She stopped on her tracks, her heart freezing as soon as she noticed something that sent chills down her spine.
He was smiling, then after a few moments, a chuckle forced her and her sister to stand back. Regardless of the state of his body, he seemed like he wasn't even injured.
The royal sisters had no time to react to what was happening and soon, something else caught their attention. Every rock that was falling from the sky, stopped mere inches before colliding against the dirt, while being surrounded by a red glow. All of them remained in place and neither Celestia nor Luna were controlling them.
Suddenly the ground began to shake, even stronger than what she achieved.
Time stopped for the Royal sisters when they returned their eyes towards the crater caused by the frost demon. Only to discover he wasn't there anymore. As if it was a nightmare, both heard a very familiar chuckle in between them.
"My turn."
They could only react in time to see Frieza standing between them as if nothing had happened and with his hands on top of their chests, suddenly the world went purple. The crowd once more fell silent as they watched the real princesses sailing back to the ground, crashing on the floor as a crater was formed upon impact.
Luna stood up quickly to shout at Celestia. "Sister!"
Before the sun princess could even reply, several boulders collided against her. Payback hurt... A lot.
A similar fate was given to Luna, whose body flew back several yards. She was expecting the ground, but what greeted her was a million times more painful. In a quick move, Frieza collided his knee against Luna's stomach, the later spitting blood as she fell to the ground.
The frost demon kicked her away before turning around, his arm raised to stop an incoming blast, while numerous boulders flew from behind him and against the attacker.
In a moment, Celestia tapped into her magic and stopped the boulders midway. Like that, a fight of telekinesis took place, with both parties pushing forward and only one of them was smirking.
Soon enough, every single rock was pulverized between the two forces and amongst the rubble, Celestia saw a white blur incoming.
Her nose broke under the sheer might of Frieza's fist as she was sent flying away. Landing on the ground a few seconds later, she noticed her sister still unmoving, then gazed back at Frieza, realization hitting her.
He was not going to stop now.
Reacting quickly to prevent a finger shot, she teleported alongside her sister.
"Luna! Are you alright?"
Her sister grunted in pain, weakly looking at Celestia. "Tia..." She said. "We... We bucked up."
Regardless of their current predicament, Celestia laughed. Surprisingly enough, determination was still present on her face, determination and trust that regardless of their odds, they were going to come on top. "But the battle isn't over yet, Lulu!" She said. "Stand up!"
With that, Luna got back on her hooves, staggering a little before releasing a painful breath. Then both sisters turned to look at the approaching frost demon.
No words were said and he only lifted his finger. They knew what was coming.
"Oh! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho!"
Both sisters ran to their left, trying to get away from the attacks while they heard Frieza's maniacal laughter. As the blasts destroyed the ground behind them, Celestia turned to look at her sister and in silent agreement, she nodded back.
Without wasting another second, the sun princess changed course and ran the other way. She had expected Frieza to be confused by the action, but watched in terror as he simply lifted his other arm and started firing at her.
Suddenly, Luna's eyes turned dark blue and a thunder came crashing unto Frieza.
The frost demon tanked it, his grin still place. Like that, thunder after thunder and the occasional blast from Celestia, tried to hurt Frieza, but he simply remained in place, taking every single attack head on.
Deciding to close the gap, Frieza formulated a plan, only downside was the amount of energy he would waste.
Opening both of his palms, he pointed at the floor, ten blasts penetrating the ground which soon appeared all around the arena.
Both Luna and Celestia stopped running and focused on dodging the beams. They both knew what he was trying to do and it seemed it was going to work. Still, they had another trick up their sleeve.
Luna charged her horn and called forth another thunder, this time she used her magic to keep it in place, forming a circle around the frost demon.
On her part, Celestia created multiple copies of herself and blasted against their opponent who just as they had predicted, remained in place amongst a curtain of smoke. This was going to be the last struggle for them. If it didn't work, then a world of pain would be coming.
Both sisters and projections, flew towards the curtain of smoke. Horns at the ready.
Suddenly the Celestia copies were pulverized by Frieza's signature beams and before they could even react, the frost demon took hold of their horns. Luna cried in pain, feeling herself being yanked into the air, before feeling a foot collide against her chest.
She was out.
On her part, Celestia could only see Frieza's open palm against her body. She gulped. A powerful blast burned her entirety, as it flew past her and destroyed part of the Everfree. Once it all faded, Celestia remained there, in the clutches of Frieza and heavily injured.
The frost demon walked towards Luna, while still taking hold of the sun princess' horn, then chuckled for a bit before throwing Celestia alongside her sister.
The former could only watch in horror as Frieza lifted his finger, a sadistic smile plastered on his face. How had she been so fool? Tirek was right, Frieza was a beast, a threat and now, it was going to cost her sister's life and possibly the rest of...
"Do you need a hand, your highness?"
She blinked, then blinked again; her mouth opened but no words came out. The finger she was expecting seeing was replaced by a helping hand from a smiling frost demon. Wordlessly, she reached it, feeling Frieza's hand tightly get hold of her before being pushed to her hooves.
The frost demon cackled. "I'm not intent on killing just yet, Celestia." He said.
Regardless of his dark remark, the brutal and sadistic Frieza she had seen in battle was gone, replaced by the gentle and easy going one they had met for the past days.
Chuckling back and regardless of how weak she felt, Celestia gave him a warm smile but didn't answer back. Suddenly Frieza's eyes turned from her to Luna, who remained still on the floor.
Celestia scratched the back of her head. "You may have gone a little overboard there, Frieza."
The frost demon chuckled at this, stretching his arm towards Luna. "Then I guess we'll have to fix that now, don't we?" Not a second later, the moon princess was illuminated by a purple glow. Soon enough, her eyes shot open.
Luna, regardless of her situation, felt energetic enough to stand on her own, but recoil a little when she felt a tremendous pain on her back. Quickly enough, Celestia took hold of her.
The moon princess turned to look at her sister. "You look like crap, Celly."
"I guess this is a good reminder never to pull a stunt like the one you two did back at the party." The frost demon retorted, noticing the sheepish smiles the royal sisters were giving him.
"Duly noted." Was all Celestia could say before the three of them looked back at the crowd they had entirely forgotten about.
Everypony from the party remained in place, completely in silence and eyes wide open. There was no cheer, nopony clearing their throats, no words, just... Silence.
Soon enough Celestia's ears caught a voice she knew well.
"Princesses!" Twilight came running towards her, her expression looked as if she hadn't had a good sleep in days.
The rest looked similarly preoccupied, but none too close to how Twilight was. Celestia mentally figured how nervous she must have been during their... Particular sparring session. This chain of thoughts caused her to give Frieza a quick glance.
One thing she had learned from the frost demon was how absolutely terrifying he was when fighting, which was no wonder why Tirek seemed to be so scared of him. She could only imagine the unspeakable torment Sombra and Chrysalis had endured before death.
"You and I have a lot to talk about, mister!" Twilight's voice cut her thoughts short as she saw her former pupil pointing at Frieza which a scowl on her face.
On his part, he remained still, not smirking or frowning but in pure amusement.
"Come on Twilight, it was jus' a sparring session!" Applejack interjected. "And even Frieza 'ere didn't go away unscratched."
That perked Celestia's interest. Indeed, Frieza had a few scratches on his body, as well as a few burns, yet he was standing like nothing.
She could remember what he told told them about his golden form and maybe his theory regarding his resistance depending on his form, was correct.
"Besides," Rarity said, getting the attention of the frost demon, "as barbaric as these practices are, Frieza made sure not to gravely injure the princesses." She said, getting closer to Frieza. "And you should really give yourself a day to heal, darling, I'd hate for your beautiful smoothness to fade due to this event."
Frieza stood there, his amusement changed to nervousness. Celestia mentally chuckled.
"Actually, I could tend your wounds." Next was Fluttershy.
In a moment, a pink blur made it past them and floated in front of the frost demon. "And I could make you another party if you felt this one was wasted!"
"Could you girls just wait a second!?" Twilight shouted, putting a hoof over her templates. "You are missing the point here and the point is..."
"The point is, this was nothing more than a sparring session, young Sparkle." Said Luna, interrupting Twilight mid sentence, who was left unconvinced.
Looking towards Celestia, the young alicorn gave a few steps. "Princess, what do you think of this?"
Celestia looked from her, to the rest present, until her eyes landed on the frost demon, whose expression was unreadable. True, the battle had gone... A little bit more brutal than she had expected and regardless of their painful confrontation, Frieza held back... A lot!
Finally she gave a deep breath, stepping closer to her former student. "Twilight," she called, placing a hoof over the young alicorn's shoulder, "don't you think Frieza could have easily killed us if he wanted?"
Twilight lowered her eyes in deep thought.
"It was him who offered to lower his energy to make this a more fair fight and he kept his promise." The sun princess said before motioning towards him. "Not for anything does he have a few scorch marks."
Twilight remained silent for a few seconds before lowering her head, sighing deeply before gazing back at Celestia. "I guess that's true, but still, I don't know how the rest of the ponies will take it."
Suddenly, the last person she was expecting, stepped up. "If that is what is bothering you, dear Twilight, I can take care of it."
The alicorn wide opened her eyes as soon as those words left the frost demon's mouth and went even wider once he approached the crowd of ponies still in shock. Out of the corner of her eyes, she could see Celestia smiling at this action.
Frieza noticed the faces he was receiving: fear, nothing but fear. He could only smile when everypony winced and stepped back everytime he got closer to them.
Their beloved princesses had been humiliated and inciting fear to them through further destruction wasn't necessary. And speaking of which, Frieza could only imagine the royal sisters' faces if he told them he was ready to kill them.
In the end, he decided to play his gentle card for a little longer, the same went for the fearful crowd in front of him.
The frost demons stared at them for a few seconds, savouring their terror, until his gaze landed on a certain blue unicorn.
"Who did you vote for?" He asked, his question causing Trixie to give a few steps back, nervously watching between him and the rest of the equines around her.
Finally, after a few seconds she managed to speak. "F-f-for you, o-of course!"
Frieza chuckled. "You are wise." He declared, moving his eyes from her and unto the cowering crowd. "Still, your princesses have surprised me, not only have they managed to keep up with me, but actually cause damage." He said, noticing the nervous expression the crowd, slowly fading. "You equines really are an interesting raze, one that I look forward to learn from."
The fear in their eyes disappeared and was replaced with nervous smiles.
He wasn't exactly expecting them to applaud and cheer, so them not bothering him with their pathetically low resistance to fear was a win in his book.
"And you certainly have quite the wise and experienced rulers." He continued. "You should be thankful of having such benevolent princesses."
This time, his last words actually caused an impact, as most of the group started clapping and cheering. In reality, he did mean what he said. They should really be thankful... Thankful of not having someone as him as a ruler, otherwise they wouldn't be breathing.
With that he turned around, noticing that they remained in place. He figured they still wanted to continue the party, definitely not something he was looking forward to.
Walking towards Pinkie, he said. "I thank you for your hospitality and for having bothered to make such a festivity miss Pie, but right now I would like to rest for what is left of the day."
Her ears fell for a few seconds, but went back up as a smile appeared on her face. "Aw! Don't worry none, Frieza! I'm glad you enjoyed it!"
He simply nodded, before gazing towards the royal sisters. "How are you two holding up?"
Letting out a deep breath, Luna placed a hoof on her back, stretching herself as a sickening crack was heard, causing the night alicorn to grunt and the rest of the group to wince. With that point made, she gazed at Frieza.
"Actually, me and my sister will take a page from your book and rest for the day." She answered, her horn flashing blue, an action mirrored by Celestia. Before going away, however, she gave Frieza one last smile. "I don't suppose you can lift a planet with telekinesis, do you Frieza?"
The frost demon placed a hand under his chin, thinking for a few moments about that question. "To tell you the truth, Luna, I'm wondering that myself right now." Shrugging, Frieza smiled. "Considering I've never really used that technique too much, maybe I should practice on it before lending a hand."
Luna raised an eyebrow in confusion. "So that's a no?"
Frieza didn't answer and simply gave her a look.
Noticing the unspoken answer, she gritted her teeth. "Dammit!" She said.
At this action, Celestia rolled her eyes. "I will help you today, sister." She said, gaining a smile from Luna who wrapped her left wing around her body. Giving one last look towards the frost demon, the sun princess grinned. "Ta ta, Frieza!"
A blinding flash illuminated the group and once it faded away, the princesses where there no more. Frieza placed a hand under his chin, thinking about Luna's request. He found it surprising how relatively weak the princesses were, considering the amount of energy needed to be able to move a celestial body, but then again being good at something doesn't mean you are good at everything. Plus, their planetary feat could be linked to a very specific type of magic.
Regardless of his power level, Celestia was quite stronger in telekinesis, still it wouldn't hurt to try. Once he was clear of ponies, Frieza would put his telekinetic powers to the test.
The frost demon suddenly felt something tug his shoulder, causing him to turn back and stare at a shamed looking Twilight, who was scratching her foreleg while staring at the ground.
"Frieza, I..." She staggered, avoiding eye contact with the frost demon who held an amused expression. "I'm sorry for having lashed out at you." She finally said. "You've been nothing but kind and friendly since you arrived, as well as considered in regards to the princesses."
He stared at her for several seconds in silence.I can't believe how stupidly innocent these equines are! He scoffed in his mind.
It did surprised him, as he recognized it took a lot of courage standing up to someone like him. Be it either out of stupidity or bravery, but Twilight had quite the courage. It was... Respectable.
He frowned. "Make sure not to bother me like that again."
Twilight's ears fell, staring in fear at his outbursts. Suddenly he gave a few chuckles, making the alicorn realize he was only pulling her leg. Releasing a deep breath, she couldn't help but to smile while shaking her head. "Please don't do that."
"Do I frighten you, dear Twilight?"
The young alicorn let out a cackle. "Yes Frieza, you do frighten me." She said, however the thing she didn't word, was the fact she also enjoyed his company.
"Psst!" Behind them, Pinkie called out for Applejack, who leaned closer to the party pony, letting her know she was listening. "Didn't he steal that lime from that weird blonde guy, who wears all black, including sunglasses and goes all like 'Complete. Global. Saturation! CHRIIIIIIIIIS!'?"
Applejack remained silent, staring blankly at Pinkie for a few seconds, until... "What?"
"Anyways!" The party pony lashed out, scaring Applejack who took a step back. "I should continue the party!" The rest of the group turned to look at her, however the party pony's eyes were fixated on the young alicorn. "Are you coming, Twilight!?"
The mare shook her head. "Actually, I'm also heading back to the castle, Pinkie, but thank you."
With that, they said their goodbyes, as only Twilight, Starlight, Spike and Frieza ventured towards the palace. Once home, the young alicorn would have a talk with her little drake.
Pinkie and others stayed, Rainbow glaring at the frost demon before following the party pony towards the bakery, alongside the rest of the ponies.
Rainbow was brave, although stupid and short sighted sometimes, especially when regarding danger towards her friends and Frieza... There was something about the frost demon that couldn't allow her to face him.
Hydras? No problem! Powerful overlords? Easy as cake! But Frieza? He scared her, more than anypony could imagine and she was more than sure there was something deeply wrong with the frost demon, something that made him even worse than any of the foes they had encountered.
She was not about to trust him, especially after his first introduction. Sure, he had saved them, but the medicine was worse than the sickness.
The brutality, the bloodlust, the animalistic approach to combat. With him in Ponyville, there wasn't anypony in the planet who would even dare attack them, but at the cost of potentially gaining an enemy they couldn't stop.
Unknown to any of them, a pair of green eyes watched the entire thing play out.
"You returned to us."
Far from Equestria, far from any civilization, a realm of void and darkness echoed by a deep rough, ethereal voice, lethal and venomous to all that heard it, yet not for its current receiver.
A Crystal mare stood her ground over the infinite plane, her arctic blue hair covered one of the two blue eyes. Her slightly scorched lilac coat remained under a large brown coat, from which her horn stood out.
The mare lifted her head, staring into the nothingness. "Not out of pleasure."
"No," answered the disembodied voice, "but rather out of hatred, thirst for revenge, pain.... Sadness." A low chuckle was heard, followed by a couple of animalistic growls. "The frost demon took something from you... And from us!"
The mare closed her eyes for a few seconds, holding back tears. Suddenly, her heart raced, as she looked up to the endless world. "Different from you, he meant something to me!"
Giving a step back, the unicorn heard laughter in all directions, a display of madness as she used both hooves to cover her ears. In a moment, her horn became illuminated, light shooting in all directions as she let out a scream of fury. "Stop!"
The laughter died down and only silence remained.
The mare cried, no longer able to contain her tears as they gasified upon contact with the inexistent floor. Between sobs, she lifted her face and addressed the entity. "Please, you have to help me!"
"And why should we?" The voice asked. "Sombra was useless to us in the end... As you are to us now!" The mare gave a step back upon hearing this. "He, on the other hand..."
The unicorn shot her eyes open, but before she could answer, the voice laughed once more. "He unknowingly managed in a few minutes, what you two failed to do in hundreds of years." The mare shook her head, noticing the signals. "Why do you think your entrance into our domain was easy?" He asked. "His title on this pathetic rock may be 'frost demon' but do you have any idea what the universe calls him?"
"What?" Asked the made, shaking in fear as the voice grew closer, alongside a humongous shadow.
"Countless planets fell under him, countless voices called him out by what he is." The shadow got closer, approaching the light generated by the mare's horn. "The emperor of evil." Her eyes grew wide, finally looking at the creature she had hoped never to see again.
An enormous mist pony, stared at her with white glowing eyes. His teeth were disjointed and large, giving way to droplets of saliva to fall unto the ground. On his back, two butterfly like wings supported his flight as he grinned at her.
"How?" Was all the mare could ask. "Sombra was the only on this plain able to free you."
The beast chuckled. "Apparently all we needed was the darkest soul in the entire planet, an evil beyond what any has seen and true power above harmony!" He replied, floating closer to the unicorn. "And now that we have it, the Umbrum are free again."
As soon as these words left the creature's mouth, it bared its teeth, getting closer to the shaking mare. Her instincts taking in, she blasted against the shadow, baring her teeth as she prepared to leave.
"I don't need your help, Rabia!" She growled, an idea forming in her mind. "I know why you haven't left this place!"
The beast laughed, flying around her. "Enlighten me."
She took a few deep breaths. "You are afraid of him." She said. "However, I'm not! And once I'm done with Frieza, I will come back for you!"
The shadow pony laughed once more. "Then run along, child and face him!"
With a snort, the equine used her horn to create a gateway and escaped the shadow realm, leaving Rabia to cackle.
"She cannot hope to stand against him." A voice called out, this one high pitched.
"She won't have to." Answered Rabia.
"She will bring him to us." Called another, his voice barely deeper than the high pitched one.
Rabia smiled. "And he will be ours, Hope will only be a stepping stone." He said. "The fate of the frost demon will start its march once the Storm has been avoided, until then... We wait."
A group of Changelings rested over a cliff. Around them, laid only enormous plains of grass under a shiny blue sky. The camp that had been settled contained numerous rattled tents, populated by tired and frowning Changelings who did their best to pass time.
Suddenly, the dark, winged, ponies jumped back in surprise as a crack in reality appeared out of thin air and from it, Hope jumped out.
With bared teeth and fallen eyebrows, her eyes immediately glued to the ground as her magic closed the portal once more. It was clear her objective had failed and in that moment, all hope had left her. Rabia was against the unicorn and her magic amounted to nothing compared to the frost demon.
"Hope?"
Lifting her gaze, she noticed one of the Changelings staring back at her. She didn't answer and instead looked around the area, suddenly releasing a sigh. Despair drowned the unicorn once more the moment she took noticed of the quite obvious lack of numbers from the Changeling force. Feeling as her heart sunk, Hope placed a hoof over her eyes in clear distress.
"How many left the camp?" She asked, not finding the strength to face the Changeling up front.
He, in turn, remained silent for a few seconds, before releasing a sigh of his own. "Half." He said. "Without our queen, the hive follows a single minded emotion and right now what they need is revenge against the frost demon."
"Oh Faust." The unicorn replied closing her eyes and realizing that an enormous quantity of Changelings just marched to their deaths at Canterlot.
The Changeling frowned, scoffing at the downed unicorn. "Did you really think they would stay after the queen died?" He asked, not getting an answer, nor he cared for one. "You are lucky we are even following you, crystal pony!" Same as before, Hope remained silent, only standing there with a hoof over her eyes. "The rest of us are loosing patience and if you don't show results, we will..."
"I know!" She yelled, gritting her teeth in anger. It was in moments like those Hope wished she had the strength, conviction and terrifying presence of beings like Chrysalis or Sombra. But she didn't and it showed, as almost every Changeling left looked as if they were about to jump on her any moment.
Having kept a certain quantity of the remaining Changeling hive was already a plus, though, especially when most of them now answered to Thorax. Regardless, her hopes of gaining strength through Rabia and the Umbrum had vanished and she was left with almost nothing until she could gain the knowledge she sought, knowledge of a being unknown to Equis.
She wasn't their queen, nor a Umbrum, but considering the stakes, Hope recognized her efforts had brought her and army of what was left of the once great Changeling empire. This sole idea brought her a little bit of comfort, though not enough to appease her fears. Regardless, She stared back at the Changeling in front of her with determination, then with a hint of anger, Hope spoke. "We still have a..."
"Dagger!" Another voice interrupted her, as the aforementioned Changeling left Hope behind to answer his call. The bug pony was floating above the ground, visibly shaking. "Something's coming."
Hope and Dagger looked at each other for a few moments before walking towards the cliff, overlooking an enormous green plain of grass and trees surrounding a rather plain-looking town.
Then their eyes widened.
An enormous black airship being carried by a purple Zeppelin, made its way to the ground, landing at the center of the small town in the distance.
"What is he doing here?" Asked Dagger to nopony in particular.
Hope turned to look at him, noticing the wariness on his expression and cleared her throat. "Who is he?"
Dagger turned to look at her, calm and collected but his eyes narrowed in precaution. "That's the Storm king, he's been conquering the other half of the planet," he explained, placing a hoof under his chin, ignoring Hope's reaction over his exaggeration in his claim, "but if we're positioned beyond those borders, then why..." Suddenly his eyes went wide. Almost like a plague, Dagger noticed the rather comical fact of weekly attacks and the obvious power "they" possessed. "The princesses!"
"What?" Asked Hope, confused further by her partner's panicked face.
The Changeling shook his head in disapproval. "He must have learned of the alicorn princesses and their magic! Now he's going there to reclaim them."
Hope cocked her head to the side, narrowing her eyes at the Changeling's words. "I though Tirek was the only magic vampire."
"The Storm king is not a magic vampire, but he does have an artifact that can absorb and channel magic of those he steals from."
Hope thought about that answer, that certain aspect making the mare peek her ears in interest. "What's the artifact called?"
"The staff of Sacanas, why?" Dagger replied, his eyes glued to the enormous zeppelin touching down.
The mare didn't answer until a few seconds passed. "What the frost demon used didn't seem like magic, but still..." Suddenly a new opportunity presented itself with the arrival of this Storm king and the so called staff of Sacanas. True, the chances were against her, but it was the only ace in the hole she had. Turning back to face Dagger, she spoke with new conviction. "We will follow them and once our spy returns, we will make a deal with Storm king."
Dagger almost choked, eyeing his companion with a panicked expression as if she had gone mad. "Are you crazy!? Do you have any idea what I've heard and seen about this guy!?"
"Is it any worse than the frost demon?" She retorted, smiling in victory as she saw Dagger contemplating her answer. The Changeling turned his haze back to the airship, from which several beasts were going out, all the while his mind raced through the implications of Hope's plan. If he was correct about her reaction towards the staff, then he knew she wanted to use it against the frost demon, still the Storm king was dangerous on his own.
In the end, if this beast was as powerful as to kill two of the strongest beings and seriously injuring Tirek to the brink of death, then the aforementioned king was the least of their problems.
Letting out a grunt and a deep sigh, Dagger looked back at Hope. "Fine, but don't let this go to waste." She said nothing and only smiled in return.
Knock knock!
The next day had come and Ponyville was peaceful, regardless of a certain tyrant living amongst them. Many saw the frost demon as somepony to be feared, others as a hero and for the unicorn that found herself at the entrance to the castle of friendship.
Prey.
"Good morning, Rarity." It wasn't long before the door opened, revealing Starlight who smiled at the sudden guest. The unicorn smiled in return.
"Morning Starlight." She greeted. "I'm sorry if I came in a wrong time but I'm about to head to the spa and I was wondering..."
Starlight chuckled, shaking her head in response with a knowing grin. "Don't worry about it, Rarity and yes, I'll tell Twilight."
Suddenly, a hoof stopped her. "Actually I didn't come for Twilight."
Starlight stood still on her tracks, looking at Rarity with a confused look. Then something made click and after that, a deadpan appeared on her features. "Seriously?"
The fashion pony scoffed. "I'm sure Frieza is the kind of being that actually cares about his looks." Starlight remained silent. "Skin like that does not stay that smooth without special treatment."
Starlight stared at her for a few seconds in silence, noticing her conviction. Suddenly with a roll of her eyes, the unicorn sighed. "I'll tell Frieza." She said, leaving behind a unicorn with a victory smile on her face.
It wasn't long before the familiar figure of the frost demon came into view, a hint of nervousness was visible regardless if his cool demeanour. "Morning, miss Rarity."
Rarity smiled back, seductively playing with her mane as she bathed her eyes at the emperor of evil, whose forehead released a single sweat drop. "Morning Frieza, how goes your day?"
"T- to tell you the truth, quite boring, but I guess that's about to change now, doesn't it?"
The unicorn gave a hearty nod, smirking at Frieza's visible nervousness hiding under the chill tone. "Indeed and since I have the slight suspicion you actually mind your looks, I thought 'what better way to greet Frieza than with one of my favorite pass times'?"
The frost demon chuckled, deciding to play along. "Key word in 'your' favorite pass times, miss Rarity."
The unicorn smiled sheepishly. "However, if you want to do something else..."
Laughing at the expense of the unicorn, Frieza dismissed the idea with his hand. "I'll be glad to come with you to the spa, miss Rarity." Suddenly, his expression turned thoughtful. "To tell you the truth, it's been a while since I shared on the practice."
Rarity chuckled at this. "Then we better head out now before you get too rusty."
"Lead the way then." Frieza said, motioning with his hand towards the street.
As the two disappeared into the street, a certain drake watched from his window, who sighed as he averted his eyes from them.
"Are you okay, Spike?" The smooth voice of Twilight caught his attention, as he turned to look at her.
"It's nothing, Twilight." He answered.
The alicorn princess knew that was not the case, especially after what they talked. As soon as she had time, Twilight had that conversation with Spike, which involved his crush on Rarity and the implications of that. Still, the young drake couldn't put it behind.
Suddenly, a chuckle was heard. Spike turned to look at Twilight who had a warm smile on her face. "You do know Frieza doesn't really feel that comfortable around, Rarity, right?"
He deadpanned. "Then why is he going with her?" He asked.
Twilight scratched the drake's head in affcetion. "Because one thing Frieza has in spades is that he's a gentlecolt and actually quite kind considering who he is."
The young drake grunted at this.
On her part, Twilight let out a sigh. "Not everything happens the way we want, you know that Spike?" She said. "And even if it doesn't, there's always a good reason, maybe you should consider that."
He growled, causing Twilight to chuckle as she embraced him gently, before turning around and leaving him alone to his thoughts.
The pair walked for a few seconds in silence, while Rarity tried to find her wording. She knew the frost demon would follow her conversations regardless of what she spoke about.
He was quite versed, something that Rarity adored, but for some reason his now known air of uncertainty and eerie vibes, blocked her thinking... that and she really really liked him. Suddenly, her expression brightened up, a question forming inside her mind. "Are all members of your species the same as you?"
The frost demon turned to look at her, thinking about her words. "That depends on the form we adopt." He answered. "For example, my father was always in what would be considered my second state."
"Is it similar to the one you have now, Frieza?"
"Not exactly, miss Rarity." He said. "Had you seen it, perhaps your first adjective would be barbaric."
The mare shuddered at this. "I'm quite comfortable with your current one, if I must say so myself, but," she stopped, eyeing the frost demon for a couple of moments, "I have to admit the golden one is quite exotic."
"It's currently my most powerful, miss Rarity." The frost demon replied, doing his best to ignore the mare's eyes practically violating him with tenacious hunger.
Making sure to not oversaturate Frieza, Rarity moved her mind over to another topic she had found interest in. "You have talked a lot about your father." She stated. "Is there any chance for us to meet him?"
Frieza chuckled at her words, remembering the events with the half monkey, Trunks. "I very much doubt it, miss Rarity, unless someone wished him back with the dragon balls."
"Wish him..." The mare was about to ask, when she realized what he meant. Lowering her ears, Rarity gave the frost demon an apologetic look. "I am so sorry, Frieza, I didn't mean to..."
The frost demon cut her off, raising a hand as he held a smile. "As much as I respect him, my father was a fool, miss Rarity and it cost him dearly." He said, noticing the horrified expression on the mare's face. "My family believes in power and the thought that if you're too weak to loose it, then you don't deserve it."
That certainly was... Something to the mare, who remained silent. She thought that was a horrifying way of seeing life, especially in regards to family, but then again, different species, different costumes. "Any other family member, Frieza?" She asked, trying to change the topic of the frost demon's father.
"Just one, miss Rarity." He said. "I also have a big brother." Casting one side glance, she could we the mare's expression and he instantly knew what she was going to ask. "And yes, he's still alive, although I have no idea where he currently resides."
The unicorn return her eyes to the road ahead, releasing the breath she was holding.
"How about you, miss Rarity? I recall you mentioning having a sister."
"Indeed I do, Frieza." She said. "Her name is Sweetie Belle."
Frieza mentally sighed... Deeply, doing his best not to punch the equine and send her to hell. I swear to Zeno sama, if I hear Fizzlepop Berrytwist next... He just couldn't understand what it was about that place that had the need to name its citizens in the most ridiculous way possible. Sure, he noticed the lack of real malice, even by what the planet considered the 'worst' villains in existence.
"We're here!"
The voice of Rarity caught his attention, as he stared into the place and felt a sudden rush of nervousness. As he had told the unicorn before, he wasn't stranger to similar practices, but the places where he did so, never looked so...
He couldn't even think of a word to describe it.
Suddenly he recalled the saying 'never judge a book by its cover', so maybe the actual relaxation process wouldn't be as idiotic as the place itself.
Before the pair entered the place, Frieza felt three extremely low ki signatures, but decided to dismiss them.
"Welcome to the Ponyville Day Spa, we..." The mare stopped, her voice bringing Frieza back to reality as he looked at the wide staring ponies.
Two mares. One was pink with blue mane and the other with the same colors but inversed. Frieza mentally wondered if they were something like twins.
"Oh, wow!" The pink coated one finally said, her eyes scanning Frieza from head to toe. "I never believed we would have the pleasure of serving the frost demon."
He chuckled. "There's always a first time for everything, miss..." He asked, extending his arm.
Taking hold of his, the pony was batting her eyelashes while giving him a seductive smile. "My name is Aloe and I'm dying to serve you." The mare purred seductively at the last words.
In truth, Frieza was not casanova. Hell! He didn't even care about such types of relationships as he considered them a waste of time and a distraction, but he had to admit that watching Rarity fuming in silence, made the little contact worthwhile.
Letting go of Aloe, Frieza greeted the other pony. "And I'm Lotus, such a pleasure frost demon."
"I take it you are here for special package." Asked Aloe, walking towards the counter as she opened her notebook.
Walking closer, Frieza cocked his head to the side. "To tell you truth, miss Aloe, I have no idea what the special package contains, nor how exactly I have to pay you."
The pony chuckled. "Don't worry about payment this time, frost demon, what kind of mares would we be if we didn't work hard to make you feel comfortable?" She answered. "And about the special package, it includes most of our beauty and relaxation areas, including a massage and a mud bath."
He placed a hand under his chin, deep in thought for a moment before looking back at his companion. "What do you think, miss Rarity."
"I think," she said, slight anger noticeable in her voice, as she approached the frost demon and violently wrapped her hoof around his arm, making him release a single sweat from his forehead, "we'll take whatever makes Frieza feel like new."
Neither Aloe nor Lotus noticed the unicorn trying to pee on her 'property' and simply smiled in agreement. "The special package it is, then." Said the pink coated mare as she left the stand and walked towards the entrance of the spa, looking back at the pair. "Please follow me."
In morbid anticipation, Frieza entered the enormous room and it was...
Exactly what he expected. A one room coated in hellish pink, but not as extravagant as the exterior nor the insufferable party pony. Immediately bored with such details, his eyes scanned the area, completely forgetting he still had Rarity glued to his arm. Suddenly, his sight landed on a familiar figure.
"Miss Fluttershy." He greeted, getting close to the pegasus who had a pair of cucumbers covering her eyes. "I did not expect to see you here."
The mare took a cucumber off her eye and smiled at the frost demon. "Hello Frieza, I could say the same about you." In a moment, her expression turned worried. "How are your wounds? Are you holding up?"
The frost demon chuckled, placing a hand over his chest. "My wounds are healed, miss Fluttershy." He said. "One of the many good things about my race is the ability of fast healing."
warmly smiling at him, her gaze turned to her other friend. "Hello Rarity." She greeted. "It was kind of you bringing Frieza here."
"Of course it was! I am inherently kind!" Answered Rarity, placing a hoof over her chest in a prideful manner.
Frieza chuckled at this, silently deciding to taunt his companion regardless of how dangerous the practice was. "Kind enough to secure me as a prize, miss Rarity?"
Upon hearing this, her face turned violently red, as Fluttershy gently laughed at her expense.
"Ahem!" She managed to mutter, trying to come up with something that could let her out of the situation. Thankfully for her, Aloe approached the pair.
"Your beds are ready, so we can start with the massage and..." She cocked her head in confusion. "Are you okay Rarity?"
"Yes!" She blurted out, before dragging Frieza away from the still giggling pegasus. "Let us get those massages started!"
Aloe just shrugged.
Much to Frieza's relief, Rarity was finally separated from him, as he positioned himself face down on the special bed, his head going out of a hole at its upper part. It wasn't long until he felt a pair of hooves on his back.
"You are quite tense, frost demon."
Frieza hummed loudly at this. "Surprising that you mention it, miss Aloe, I feel quite fine."
The mare chuckled at this. "The body never lies." She said. "Some say that it speaks what the mind doesn't." He didn't say anything back, letting time pass as the mare worked her way over his body.
At first, she found it confusing how she was going to work on a certain appendage on the frost demon's back, but as she made her way down his back, Aloe couldn't help but to find it hypnotic. "You have quite the beautiful tail, frost demon."
He chuckled. "I'm sure not many would agree with that." The true meaning behind those words went completely over Aloe's head, as she considered a simple fashion problem. Frieza, however, recalled the many beings whose necks he had snapped.
"There we go, frost demon, let loose those muscles." Frieza was surprised to hear this. Even subconsciously, knowing something is suffering under his foot brought him relaxation and now that the barriers were down, he began to truly enjoy the massage.
Soon enough, his eyes closed and his tail relaxed, feeling Aloe doing all the good work. "You have quite the hooves, miss Aloe." He said, hearing the giggles from the mare.
"Just the best pair in Ponyville."
The frost demon didn't answer back, loosing himself in the moment. And so, good part of the day went into the numerous routines inside the spa.
At first he was regretting setting foot in the place, but he had to admit it actually was quite pleasing, especially since he didn't have to bother commanding other morons to do their job. No, Aloe and Lotus knew what they were doing and so caught up he was in the moment, that he completely ignored the fact he had not strengthened his skin using his ki, which had left him vulnerable to still powerful attacks, but the frost demon couldn't lie to himself. It really wasn't such a bad day.
Then, as if they were seconds, a couple hours had passed.
Letting a peaceful sigh, Frieza rested his back against the seat, his arms extended to the sides, as he enjoyed the last part of the package as much as he could. Him, alongside Fluttershy and Rarity found themselves inside a sauna. The pegasus had decided to wait for her friends so she could join them.
"I take it you're enjoying this, aren't you Frieza?"
The frost demon opened his eyes to greet the owner of the voice. He smiled. "Quite much, miss Fluttershy and to be honest, I wouldn't mind coming with you another time."
"Of course you would enjoy it, Frieza." Said Rarity, her eyes closed in contempt. "You are a being of class and only those with class know the wonders of a good day in the spa."
The frost demon laughed at this. "One of the many good things my dear father left me and my brother."
Fluttershy stared at him, her curiosity spiked. "If you don't mind me asking, Frieza, what is your brother's name?"
"That big moron's name is Cooler."
Just outside the spa, over a cloud rested a certain Rainbow maned pegasus. She was sleeping peacefully until something forced her to wake up.
"Wow!" She yelled, looking around her as if she wanted to find something... cooler!
"AA-CHOO!" Out in space, millions of lightyears away from Equis, a figure resembling Frieza sat on the bridge of his ship, scratching his nose. "Damned space dust!"
Back at the spa, Fluttershy reached out and placed a hoof over the frost demon's shoulder. "Don't be like that with yourself Frieza." The aforementioned emperor of evil opened his eyes in confusion and stared blankly at the pegasus who held a warm smile. "It's okay if you think your brother's name is better than yours, but I still like Frieza."
"Uh?" Out of an extensive vocabulary, he simply had no other words to reply.
"So," started Fluttershy, "what is his name?"
The frost demon was on a complete loss for words and he found himself mentally slapping his forehead with so much force that he was almost sure it would be felt in the real world.
Without them noticing, Rarity looked between the two, until she started giggling. The shy mare looked at her friend and her ears fell. "Did I say something wrong?"
Composing herself, the unicorn turned to look at Fluttershy, shaking her head. "You did nothing wrong, darling." She said, noticing the pegasus letting out a sigh of relief. "I believe what Frieza means is that the name of his brother is actually Cooler."
Fluttershy stared blankly at her, her mind processing her friend's words... until it clicked.
"Oh..." She mouthed, her face going red in embarrasement as she looked back at the frost demon with a sheepish smile. Frieza stared at her for a few moments, before placing both hands behind his head and closed his eyes.
He smiled and let out a few chuckles.
Finally, the spa day had ended, as Fluttershy, Rarity and Frieza stepped out of the building. On his part, the frost demon placed both hands over his torso and moved his head to the sides, but nothing cracked.
In reality, he wasn't really expecting to.
"You look quite different." Turning back, he noticed Rarity looking at him, a smirk on her face.
The frost demon smiled in return. "I feel like I needed that, miss Rarity."
Looking at both, Futtershy grinned, spreading her wings as she prepared to take flight. "I'm sorry if I can't stay, but I have a few animals to tend to." She said, getting the attention of the pair. "It was a really nice day." With that said, Fluttershy looked at the frost demon. "Take care Frieza."
He simple nodded, watching as the pegasus took flight and left him alone with Rarity.
Looking back at the unicorn, the frost demon placed both hands behind his back. "Any other plans?"
"Not at all Frieza." She replied, shaking her head. "Right now I want to spend the rest of the day with my sister."
The emperor of evil extended his arm. "Would it bother you if I took you home, miss Rarity?"
The unicorn grinned in delight as she took hold of the frost demon's arm and smiled. "Not at all Frieza, if any, I get to
enjoy your company for a little longer."
As the pair walked off in the distance, a certain rainbow maned pegasus watched them go. Rainbow still didn't trust Frieza, not after showing past instances of extreme brutality. In her book, nopony who called themselves heroes, acted like that. No, those were decisions made by villain of the worst kind.
She always understood Twilght whenever she insists bad ponies can change, yet Rainbow wasn't sure how a being that has already killed, could change.
Regardless if her friends lowered their guards, she wouldn't and so, she decided to follow them, a stealthily as she could. Rainbow saw the pair talking amongst themselves and shortly after, arrive at Rarity's home, where Frieza dropped her friend and left towards Twilight's castle.
The walk had gone silent and peaceful, with Frieza not minding anypony as he made his way towards his destination. Regardless of the past few days, ponies still reacted in a varied way to his presence, with looks of either fear or friendliness.
Finally, the frost demon had arrived at his temporary home, the castle of friendship, where he stood by the door, waiting for something. Cocking her head to the side, Rainbow scratched her mane and blinked.
The frost demon wasn't there anymore.
"Wonderful clear skies, wouldn't you agree, miss Dash?"
Yelping in surprise, the pegasus placed a hoof over her chest, almost as if she tried to stop her heart from going out of her body. "Why did you do that!?" She demanded, noticing the annoyed expression on the frost demon.
Crossing both arms over his chest, he spoke. "I guess a better question is, why are you spying on me?" He had sensed her pathetically low ki following him since he left the spa.
The rainbow maned pegasus staggered a little before she could find the right words. "I was jus' curious."
The frost demon narrowed his eyes. "Curious about what, miss Dash?"
He already knew the answer, even if the retarded pegasus lacked any bravery to actually say it, still, he enjoyed toying with her.
"I-I..." She kept staggering, trying to avoid Frieza's gaze. "I just get curious when I'm bored and because of that, I start chasing ponies around!"
The frost demon couldn't help but to roll her eyes. In the end, he had quite a good day that it would just be a shame to be wasted on the stupid pegasus. Deeply sighing, Frieza softened his gaze. "Honestly, I could care less." With that, he turned around, levitating to the ground. "See you later, miss Dash."
Rainbow let out the breath she was holding.
Frieza, as much as he enjoyed the company of the equines, there was something about Rainbow Dash that made him angry, something that made him want to stamp her against the ground and squash her head with his feet. He figured there was no way to convince the others she could be sacrificed for the greater good. Frieza would just have to avoid her or passively insult her as much as he could.
The frost demon smiled at the second option. Like that, the gate of the castle closed, leaving Rainbow to thoughtfully retreat.
A Simple Walk Amongst Prey
The sun beamed down unto the green grass stretching across Ponyville, birds chirped and happily flew across the blue sky; ponies walked left and right, some humping to the beat of a happy tune, a smile stretching across their faces while others looked with nervousness at a white, bipedal figure marching down the street with thoughtful eyes and hands behind his back.
Quite an interesting turn of events for the emperor of evil, who peacefully went by amongst happy, pastel colored equines, his very own power capable of destroying every single one of them with little ease but in that moment, his mind was preoccupied by something else than killing the first buffoon that attempted to spark a conversation.
Frieza kept his gaze down, his thoughts circling around the rather bizarre location he was heading in and a meeting he found quite amusing. Regardless of having spent more than just a few days in Equestria, he found the place rather soothing and calm. While normally, he would scoff at such thoughts, the latest events had forced him to see his predicament as a well deserved vacation.
Rest now, kill later.
lifting his gaze, Frieza spotted the sugarcube corner in the distance, a place that was sickening for him to stomach and his destination as well. To say the type of meeting he was about to get was completely incompatible to the place it would take, was an understatement. No, it was more than that, bizarre event and something that had been nagging him ever since the mare proposed him the idea.
He let himself chuckle at the thought, a thin grin appearing on his features as his pace hastened, walking past the numerous equines that looked at him with a mix of emotions, all sprouting from fear. He could care less about that, for in that moment, a more amusing event was about to take place.
"Help!" Fireza's ears perked, his head slightly rising at the sudden call, his nonchalant expression gazing to his right in a lazy attempt to see what was happening.
Screams were heard, not of fear from a terrifying being, but for what seemed the safety of one of them. Out of amusement, the emperor of evil stopped in his tracks, noticing the small crowd that was starting to form at one side of the street, as if they prepared themselves to avoid something. His gaze then shifted to his left, noticing the cause of the disturbance.
An out of control wooden cart, raced backwards down the streets, smashing tents and market set ups, sending fruit, vegetable and other types of merchandise flying away in all directions. At the other end of the cart, a pale, yellow mare with blue mane and pink stripes was tightly attached to it, her face scrunched in panic and her eyes wide open in fear of her predicament as the archaic method of transportation mercilessly roamed across the streets of Ponyville.
Frieza hummed in amusement, his mind so absent he didn't notice he was standing at the very center of the approaching cart, which had locked him within its sights as the next target. The emperor of evil, however, did not move and remained still, both hands behind his back and his gaze locked unto the incoming cart.
A moment like this made him thought back at the goody two shoes type like Goku. What would he do in that situation? Frieza let out a chuckle, as he knew full well that the monkey would most likely stop the vehicle and save the mare from impending doom, such was his type. But him? Normally he wouldn't care and go on his marry way, but right then and there, he simply couldn't take his eyes away from the ever so close cart.
Should he stop it and save the mare?
By that moment, the vehicle was just a few meters away from him, dust spreading from the collision between wheel and ground.
Of course he could jump in and play hero, then the equines would most likely start heralding him as some kind of protector, a good guy sent to deliver them from danger, but he was the emperor of evil, a being that cared not for such stupidity...
Or was he?
The cart was about to collide with him, its raging path threatening to crash unto him.
It would only be a matter of seconds and Frieza knew he had to make a decision. Maybe his evil ways were something of the past, maybe after what he had lived at the tournament of power, Frieza could consider being what Goku was... a hero.
"Ha! Not in a million years!" With that, he nonchalantly sidestepped, letting the endangered mare and the out of control cart, to continue their path unto oblivion.
With a satisfied sigh, Frieza went on his way towards the Sugarcube corner... And then his expression grew concerned the moment he noticed where the cart was directed to.
In the distance, the spa that had given him such a great time was about to feel the wrath of the vehicle and instantly, Frieza knew he'd be even more damned if he let that happen. A loud gasp erupted from the crowd as the emperor of evil vanished in thin air and before anypony could process what had happened, he reappeared over the raging vehicle, crashing his feet unto the cart and forcing it to stop. Apples and other types of fruits went flying away, as well as a terrified mare that flew past Frieza before colliding unto the walls of the spa.
Bon Bon felt dizzy and confused, her head hurting more than she had anticipated, but as she tried to stand, a shadow covered her. With panicked eyes, she gazed upon the look of a furious looking frost demon.
"Are you brain dead!?" He yelled, before she could even say anything. "To think your stupidity was about to cost me such a fine establishment and one of the only good things about your pathetic planet!"
"Uh..." Was all Bon Bon could mouth, her eyes lost on a river of thoughts and surprise brought to her by Frieza.
Noticing the lack of answers, the frost demon pinched his nose with his fingers, furiously rubbing the bridge as his eyes closed. "I could stay here letting you know how much of a moron you are, but thankfully for you I have an important meeting!" And with that, he stormed away, ignoring the cheers of the crowd and the confused stare from the mare.
FInally, after a few moments of immense stupidity and colorful nightmares, Frieza's steps led him at the gates of the sugarcube corner. He stopped for a few moments, as if mentally preparing himself to endure whatever moronic entity had decided to color the place in such a disgusting display of colors, then with a sigh, he pushed open the doors.
"About time you arrived!"
Frieza let himself smile at the sight of the mare he had a meeting with, sitting just a few feet away from him and in company of another pony.
He walked towards the table. "My apologies, miss Starlight, I had a minor setback on my way here." He said, his eyes going towards the other mare. "And greetings, miss Trixie! I have to say, I was rather eager to meet you."
The blue mare simply smiled proudly, motioning towards herself with her hoof. "Of course you'd be eager, in the end, who wouldn't want to meet the great and powerful Trixie?"
As Starlight rolled her eyes, Frieza chuckled, amused by the self ass kissing as he sat just in front of the ponies.
"Well, then, I guess this villain meeting can start now."
