The Service

Twilight was sitting on her bed writing about some stuff that had happened during her day in her journal since she had just got done helping some of the towns citizens with their friendship problems

As Twilight sat there she heard somepony knock on her door so she sat up and went to go see who it was, she realized that it was locked and she wondered why that was. She unlocked the door and opened it and Rarity greeted her.

"Hey Twilight I was wondering where you were. I came to stop by and see if you wanted to go to church today." She asked. Twilight was immediately confused. She had no idea it was Sunday. She must have lost track of the days.

"Church? That's today?" Twilight asked. Rarity raised an eyebrow as she couldn't believe that Twilight forgot what day of the week it was.

"Uh...yeah? It's Sunday. Church, Bible study, fellowship? Don't tell you me you forgot." Rarity said. Twilight mentally scolded herself for forgetting the day of the week. She had a calendar in her room and she always kept track of the day but not today. She sighed.

"Sorry Rarity I didn't know. I just got done working, I had so much to do today so that's why I didn't go. When is the service starting?" Twilight asked. Rarity checked her watch.

"In a few minutes. We still have time to get their though so if you want to leave now we can leave right now." Rarity said. Twilight thought about her options and then became curious about what sermon that was going to be delivered that day.

"What is the subject of today's sermon? Is Amy going to be there? Will she be delivering it?" Twilight asked as she liked Amy as Amy was the one who baptized her.

"Yes Twilight Amy will be doing the sermon. The sermon is going to touch on the subject of Jesus's genealogy. They will be talking about Abraham specifically." Rarity stated. Twilight gave her a confused look.

"I thought Abraham wasn't talked about in church. He's more of Jewish prophet than a Christian subject. It doesn't make any sense that they would devote an entire lesson for him. Our church always stays with the New Testament." Twilight said confused.

"Not true they talked about they Old Testament in our church before but it probably put you to sleep. Second of all Abraham is an ancestor of Jesus. He's talked about in Judaism Islam and Christianity. Look won't you just come to the service? It's something for you to do." Rarity said. Twilight thought about it.

"You know what I'll go it might be good fore me. Im bored to death anyway Why couldn't we learn about Apostle Paul? At least he's a subject our church would talk about!" Twilight exclaimed. Rarity sighed.

"Come on Twilight you said you were coming!" Rarity said. Twilight shrugged and went to church with Rarity. When they got there. Twilight greeted Amy and they both talked to her for a few minutes and talked to Applejack who had came that morning as well.

Soon they all went to sit down in the main sanctuary and the sermon began. After they sang a few hymns one of the pastors began the lesson. Twilight payed close attention to the lesson but couldn't help but disagree with it.

She wasn't trying to be rude but Abraham still didn't seem as much as important than Jesus even if Abraham did start his family tree. Twilight sat there being as polite as she could be but she still couldn't get that interested in the lesson.

She wasn't trying to be mean or anything but she still didn't get why a man who was the father of Judaism be so important to Christianity. It didn't make sense to her and she didn't agree with it.

As the lesson went on she followed along where they were citing scripture for the sermon. Twilight looked over at Rarity and her friends and she saw that they were all paying close attention. Twilight tried as much as she could to keep up with the sermon with her bible.

Twilight wondered if she was going to stay or leave after the service. She wanted to ask Amy about the sermon but didn't want to bother her to much as Amy usually talks to a few associate pastors for a while each time services ended.

Twilight talked to her friends for a while and she was glad that Rarity hadn't told them how she acted earlier. She felt guilty for speaking that way about church. After she had hung out with her friends for a bit she told Amy that she didn't understand the sermon so Amy tried to explain it to her. Twilight finally decided to go home. She thanked Amy for talking to her and went home.

When she got home she put her stuff away that she had brought with her and sat down on her bed. She was happy that she was home. She went to see Spike. When she looked for Spike she found him in the throne room.

Hey Twilight how was your day?" Spike asked her.

"It was alright I got to see my friends and that's about it. Nothing else can be said about it. We listened to a sermon that I didn't really care about but overall I got to see Amy and my friends so that was good. How was yours?" Twilight asked.

"It was alright. I just hung out. All of your friends were with you so I didn't have anybody to talk to but myself but I had a relaxing time though believe it or not." Spike said.

"I'll talk to you in a bit Spike I just want to stay here for a few more moments." Twilight said. Spike nodded and gave her privacy.

Once Spike left the throne room Twilight sat on her chair and thought about today's sermon. She wondered why Amy had picked that specific subject for that day. Twilight gave up as it wasn't worth thinking about. She went to see Spike and they both hung out together for the rest of the day.
