New Legends and Old Myths

The medical wing of the castle was being torn to shreds, mainly because those responsible are have an all out, everypony for themselves, fight to the end, grudge match. It was to the point where Twilight had all but lost hope, that was when her worst nightmare showed up, Discord had arrived and was using his magic to separate the feuding fighters.

"Hello Twilight, I hope you don't mind the interruption, you see I detected a disturbance here and when I saw Fluttershy acting the way she was, I simply had to act." Discord said, showing no hostility towards her or any of the others.

"Great job Discord now release me so that I can personally take care of these traitors." Celestia said in a rather angered tone.

"Thou art using dulcet trickery, and for that, thee shall be forced to live in the sun for as long as thy see fit!" Luna said as she instantly transformed into Nightmare Moon.

Seeing this, Discord quickly added a magic cap into the fields, this quickly defused the situation, Twilight was now the only one who stood a chance against the real threat, but only if she could unite the new elements, the question was how, then, it hit her, she simply had to help them find common ground.

Soon after leaving the office, Psychic Mind was feeling confident. She was able to stall her enemies, and reveal Discord to be a traitor, now all she had to do was find an undersized dragon, this would be easy.

Little did Psychic know that her target was not undersized, he was still young, and this complicated things, the dragon stirred ever so slightly, and then Psychic got an idea, one that would fool the dragon into following her blindly.

"Spike, I finally found you, come on get up it's me Twilight." Psychic had extensive abilities, including the ability to change form, this she had been told was a rare ability and that she would be a fool to use it.

"Twilight, I thought it would be longer than this." Spike said, a little suspicious.

"So did I but Sombra has regained his memories, and so has Chrysalis, which is why we need to hurry and get back to the others." Psychic said, using Twilight's voice and form.

"Alright, but first, you need to prove that you aren't a changeling or somepony who can change their form." Spike said with a smile.

"Alright, the day you hatched was the day Rainbow Dash performed her first Sonic Rainboom, and the Day that Princess Celestia took me as her personal student." Psychic said having invaded Twilight's memories.

"Alright, now I know that it is you, then we can go." Spike said, having fell for Psychics trick.

Psychic then teleported both of them to Sombra and changed back to her usual self and that was when Spike saw what was happening, not only had he been tricked, but he had been tricked by an agent of Sombra.

Meanwhile back on Old Equus, Twilight was trying to think of how she could reverse what had been done to her friends and family, and then it hit her, she could try a memory spell like she did when discord had changed her friends.

"Discord, I need to speak with Celestia alone." Discord nodded and teleported both Celestia and Twilight to some twisted dimension of Discords making.

"What is it my faithful Student, have you finally chosen to hear what I have to say about the traitors?" Celestia asked with a smile.

"No, but I have to do something, and you are gonna let me." Twilight said as she began charging her horn and pinning Celestia using her magic, also putting a dampener on her horn.

"Alright an altered memory spell should work." Twilight said as Celestia began to struggle.

Twilight's horn touched Celestia's head and Celestia looked like she had just woken up from a bad dream.

Twilight stomped her foot four times and Discord brought them back, she then made sure that Celestia was able to walk freely, after what seemed like hours, Twilight had finally restored the entire group, and the defenders of harmony were reunited.

It was only after the entire group had gathered that there was an intruder.

"Well it seems that my spell was reversed quite quickly." Psychic said, half expected them to lash out.

"I should inform you that I have the dragon, so if you intend to do my master any harm, then I shall return the favor by hurting poor little Spikey-Wikey." Psychic said before teleporting back to her rightful place. Leaving everypony in shock and worry.

Now everypony was worried, Twilight was the only one who wasn't present when Spikes capture had been announced, and this meant that she needed to know, but who would tell her, that was what needed to be discussed.

Meanwhile back on the station, there was a new uproar, Sombra had addressed the denizens of the station personally, and now he had plenty of supporters to get him on the council.

Once this had happened, Sombra was able to gain control, and using his own abilities, he was able to teleport an army to Old Equus, an army poised to strike not only those within his alliance, but those who would oppose him.

Psychic was nothing more than overjoyed to see that Sombra was finally getting his revenge, but she was also sad that she wasn't able to help lead the forces of her master to war.

"You should realize that no matter what you do, he isn't gonna return your feelings, he cares only about himself." Spike said to the acting guard.

"SHUT UP, you know nothing about what I feel, you know nothing of my life, he saved me, took me in to become his aide, he looked at me when nopony else would, so tell me, what do you know about my feelings?" Psychic shouted in pure emotional fury.

"I know what it's like, I used to feel the same way about a mare who only looked at me the way a mother would her child, I know that you long for his love, but the best thing for you to do is admit that you love him, otherwise he is just going to keep looking at you the way I was looked at." Spike said, hoping to coax her into freeing him.

"Even if you're just trying to help me sort out my feelings, I still won't let you out, after all you are the one reason they aren't trying to attack, and that is what I want." Hearing this, Spike was just about ready to give up when he saw the one mare he was just thinking about.

"I think you're holding somepony that I would very much like to have released." Twilight said with a smile, one that confused Psychic and worried Spike.

"I won't repeat myself, now let him go or I will do some serious damage to your clever mind, and that would hinder your precious abilities, so what's it gonna be, your mind or my friend?" Twilight said, with a freaky ultimatum.

"I will not betray him, not so long as I live, so you can forget it, and there is something you failed to take into account, the fact that maybe I have linked myself with your dragon." Twilight had let this sink in while Psychic was laughing maniacally.

"Why don't we make a deal, I can give him to you but you must let me take control of him so that I can see if when Sombra lays waste to your plans." Twilight felt hopeless in the face of Psychics counter, her own ultimatum was thought out much better than Twilight's own, this was not good.

"I refuse allow either option, this is because, although you have a very powerful ability to use mind magic, I have an even more powerful ability, and it enables me to unify those around me, and I can easily overpower you." Twilight said, unsure of weather or not she would be able to bluff her way around this.

"Sorry but I already know you're lying, as you said, I have a very powerful mastery, of mind magic, but that means you have chosen that he be kept here, so this is where you go goodbye and leave." Twilight was at the end of her rope, she had no way of getting Spike out, and that meant she would have to betray one friend or betray them all.

Twilight looked at Spike and he looked back knowingly, they both knew that Twilight would choose the lesser of two evils.
