The bound group turned to look at the stranger who said that and were just as surprised as the stallion who captured them. "Chancellor Sombra, What is the meaning of this?" Flurry Heart asked with an obvious anger in her voice as her hands tried to grab the knot holding the bindings in place. For a few minutes Sombra just stood there laughing at them, it was then they realized that the all those with horns had dampening rings on them. "My dear Flurry Heart, do you really not remember your parents? or do you remember the Alicorn that first introduced you to Sweetie Belle at all Button Mash? or do you remember the earth pony who along with Scootaloo and Apple Bloom taught you how to be a friend Silver Spoon?" Sombra asked with a malicious grin. "You know full well that I was raised in an orphanage because my parents cared nothing of me." Flurry Heart said with an obvious and rising anger. "Well then perhaps I should allow you to see what I have seen." Sombra said while using his magic to unbind his captives and remove the dampening rings. "This necklace here, who can tell me what it represents." Sombra asked while showing them a necklace with a rainbow thunderbolt insignia. Scootaloo saw it and her eyes twinkled ever so slightly, but just enough that Sombra noticed it. "The Element of Loyalty." Scootaloo said with wonder. "Correct now put it on and tell me what you see and feel." Sombra commanded as Scootaloo put it on with haste. That was when Scootaloo become fully aware of things around her, then she fell, and began to see something that truly could not have been. "This is great now we can finally save you and the others from Sombra and Chrysalis, you gotta listen to me kiddo, if you let them get the rest of the elements then we are doomed he has two other elements the element of honesty belongs to Apple Bloom and the element of generosity belongs to Sweetie Bell got it." All Scootaloo did was nod and say hello to her and even knew the Pegasus' name. "Thank you Rainbow Dash." She said quietly. "She's coming to, should I attempt to remove the necklace Chancellor?" Came a voice who Sweetie Bell recognized as Chrysalis. "No!" Was all that came in a reply. She then found that she had just now been teleported back into the facility with the others. "Now then what did you see Scootaloo?" Sombra asked, clearly aware that Scootaloo did have that vision. "I saw Old Equestria, Cloudsdale to be precise, and I saw my sister, but what I don't get is why I forget her in the first place." Scootaloo said as Sombra just smiled and looked at Apple Bloom. "Now which of you can tell me what this one is?" Sombra said, already knowing the answer. "The Element of Honesty." Apple Bloom said while looking just as awestruck as Scootaloo did. Following the same instructions Apple Bloom put on the necklace and passed out. "Oh dear, what am ah gonna do with you Bloom, ya never could stay away from adventure, alright listen closely..." An orange earth pony bearing the apple family trademark on her flank instructed. Apple Bloom looked at her with an attentive expression. "...Right then, assumin' that Scoots has loyalty around her neck then dash is safe but what about sweetie bell, does she have generosity?" The pony asked in a panic. "Not yet, look Ah'm still tryin', ta sort out my memories, cause new ones just keep appearing from nowhere." Apple Bloom said in a distressed voice. "Not new, old and suppressed thanks to me and the other ruling Alicorns, I don't have long but I am giving you the location of the element of magic, kindness and laughter. Give magic to Flurry Heart, and give kindness to Silver Spoon and laughter to Button Mash. What ever you do don't give them to Sombra or Chrysalis." Came the voice of a purple Alicorn who appeared and disappeared from the mist. "Who was that?" Was all Apple Bloom could say. "That was Twilight Sparkle, look ya gots ta get the other elements then escape Sombra." Apple Bloom nodded and looked on with renewed hope. "Thanks Applejack." Was the last thing she said. Apple Bloom woke up in a hospital bed seeing Chrysalis and Sombra and the she was teleported to the facility and told to stand with the others. "What did you see?" Sombra asked her. "Ah saw mah sister and ah saw Sweet Apple Acres." Was all that Apple Bloom was willing to reveal. "Very well then, I have one more to show you." Sombra said as he pulled out the last necklace he had "That is the Element of Generosity." Came the swift and decisive voice of Sweetie Bell who approached and donned the necklace expecting the same thing that happened to the others to happen to her and sure enough it did. Sweetie Bell found herself face to face with a mare after her own heart, in fact she had a worried expression. "Sweetie Bell you need to be careful around that brute Sombra as well as Chrysalis." The mare said carefully as if being watched by somepony or something. "Just know that I will be watching you from now on darling." Was the last she said. "Thanks Rarity." Sweetie Bell whispered. All went white, Sweetie Bell woke up in the same hospital bed as the others, shortly after, she was teleported back to the complex where she and the others were being held. "Now tell me what you saw please Sweetie Bell." Sombra asked nicely for the first time since the group had been captured and forced to take part in all of this. "I saw my sister, but that was all I saw." She said trying to mask the hint of defiance in her voice. All though it wasn't obvious, Sombra knew what they saw and Flurry Heart sensed this and decided to approach him. "Well, this has been an entertaining time, but I would like to know how you came across these artifacts and how you knew what these three saw?" Flurry Heart asked threateningly. "That is none of your concern, Governess, but I will not be letting any of you go at all." Sombra said, grinning maliciously at the groups protests. However just before Sombra was able to do anything to them, the entire group was teleported directly to the Crystal Satellite, only to com face to face with Councilor Sunset Shimmer. Meanwhile, Sombra was furious about the fact that his captives had escaped. He was using a detection spell to find them, but to no avail and it annoyed him because they had the Elements of Harmony. A few hours had passed since the group met Sunset Shimmer, and in that time, Sunset had taken Flurry Heart and the others to her house. "Thank you for this councilor, Sombra has gone too far in his quest for power. He has, however found us the means with which we can stop him, but if we were to fail then he will destroy us." After Flurry Heart finished explaining what was going on, Sunsets look changed from worried to joyfully curious. "So does that mean that this is what Sombra's men are after?" Sunset asked as Apple Bloom looked up and walked over to the two mares. "That tiara is the Element of Magic, that one there is the one that Flurry Heart has to wear." Apple Bloom said hoping that she wouldn't be dismissed. "I already know that..." Everypony stopped and stared at Sunset Shimmer suspiciously. "...What, you didn't think I was curious." Sunset asked "Twilight's waiting for you and don't worry about energy bursts, I have shields and guards." Sunset Shimmer said with confidence. Flurry Heart nodded, put the tiara on and then fell to the floor. "Flurry Heart, thank goodness, we don't have much time, I've given you the locations of the remaining two elements, you and the others must find them." Flurry Heart simply nodded. Meanwhile, Sombra detected a faint but familiar energy spike and he knew that another element had been found. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: The Race Begins //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: The Race Begins 48 Hours had passed since Flurry Heart had placed the tiara on her head and since then, she has been talking to Sunset Shimmer about things that the others didn't even know about. "It will only work if we manage to flush him out and convince him that we were wrong and he was right." "Yes, but what makes you think that governor Blueblood will believe that we remember?" At the very mention of his name the element around Sweetie Bells neck started glowing. The glow enveloped Sweetie Bell and for a moment she just stood there, all eyes were on her and the moment the glow and Sweetie Bell disappeared the entire group got a massive shock. In her place stood a larger unicorn mare. "If you trust Blueblood then you're likely to get spat in the face, especially if he remembers." Was all the group heard before the same glow, a middle shade of purple, had enveloped the larger unicorn and Sweetie Bell reappeared in her place. "What the hell was that?" was all Sunset Shimmer could say. "That was the same kind of magic used to infuse them with the Elements of Harmony." Came a reply from behind Sunset. At the sound of the reply everypony turned around ready to put up a fight, only to discover that Governor Blueblood himself had managed to enter Flurry Heart's house. Meanwhile , Sombra was furious to know that the majority of the council had chosen to decline his request to join them. In fact that majority just so happened to be loyal to Governess Flurry Heart, Chancellor Sunset Shimmer and the rest were loyal to a nobody named Blueblood. Sombra laughed at the very thought of him, a stallion who is so reclusive that nopony knew where to find him, only revealing himself when there was a meeting or matter that he needed to attend. Sombra had to wonder weather or not to approach him and try to make him an ally, maybe then he could get his place on the council. "So do you finally remember me and everything that has happened leading up to the creation of the alignment?" Blueblood asked his now repentant family member he had fathered and tricked for the better part of her life. "Yes, and for the record, I'm sorry for everything." Flurry Heart said with her head held low. Security Breach Security Breach Security Breach "Impossible, the perimeter shield's been taken down we need to find a way out immediately!" Flurry Heart shouted in a blind panic. Thinking quickly, Sunset Shimmer teleported the entire group to a cave where she had gone in times when she needed to get away from civilization. "Welcome everypony to Old Equestria, the location of the remaining Elements of Harmony." Sombra had no choice but to have Chrysalis gather her armada and take them to Old Equestria just in an effort to beat his adversaries in the race for power. Author's Note Sorry that this chapter is shorter than the first, I have run out of ideas for this particular chapter and intend to make the next chapter longer to make up for it, but please leave a comment on your thoughts so far. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: More Friends and A New Plan //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: More Friends and A New Plan "So this place isn't just a myth, and the idea of a destroyed world below us is also real." Silver Spoon said,also trying to avoid stepping in mud. "Yes, now the safest place for us is Canterlot Castle, easily defensible and with the magic that Flurry Heart, Blueblood and I have we can easily take Chrysalis on." Sunset said, not knowing that the aforementioned changeling was already there. "Sorry to disappoint you Councilor, but you will not be getting past my armada, and before you ask, I already restored their memories so they are loyal to me." Chrysalis said as she revealed the presence of her army. "Not today Chrysalis, for the great and powerful Trixie along with faithful friend, Starlight Glimmer will beat you." Trixie said with a powerful glare. "Don't forget about me girls." A lone changeling said triumphantly. "Thorax, get back in rank or be obliterated!" Chrysalis said with shock and anger in her voice. "No, you need to learn that your idea of and feeding off of love is wrong and that giving and sharing love and friendship will forever stave off our hunger." "Never mind that, we need to run and I know just the place." Flurry Heart said with panic, she teleported the new arrivals and her group to the now decrepit and crumbling Canterlot Castle. Everypony just looked at their surroundings in awe, the fact that they were standing inside an actual hoof made structure. "Report Chrysalis,!" Sombra said in a commanding tone. "They escaped, and there are more who joined them, that self absorbed commander, and Sunset Shimmers personal aid along with somepony among the ranks of my armada." Sombra was not pleased with this, first his opponent on the council and now those within his makeshift triumvirate, he was about ready to lose his temper had there not been a knock on his door. "Enter." He commanded. "Your guest has arrived chancellor." came the reply of his aid. "Let him in." Sombra ordered without looking away from his desk. "Well Sombra I must admit that if you called me here then you must be up to something, and I am more than happy to help if it gets rid of Flurry Heart." The guest said from inside of a hood. "Well then you are just who I need for this job, I assume that I can count on you, Discord." Sombra said as they both stared at each other. Meanwhile at Canterlot Castle, Blueblood, Sunset Shimmer, Starlight Glimmer, Thorax and Flurry Heart had gathered in the throne room to discuss something that they told the others was something that shouldn't have been discussed around them. "If I am remembering clearly then Twilight told you how to release herself and the others from the elements, Starlight." Sunset said, a slight hint of worry in her voice. "Yes but we need all of the elements gathered in one place, and we need to find the mirror that was used to go to that other world so that we can locate the princesses." After Starlight had finished talking, everypony was simply looking at her in wonder. "The princesses and Shining armor located a world where they could bide their time in a sort of stasis, this way they could wake when the time was right, but it seems that we need to wake them now." Once the message sank in that they would find three of the alicorn princesses, the were filled with a high level of determination. "Just how do you propose we find this mirror, especially since I Trixie, could not, and yes Trixie looked in all possible locations as per instructions." Trixie asked and stated at the same time. "Well first we find the last two elements, but before we do anything, I know that Chrysalis is not Sombra's only friend in this quest for power, Discord is also involved, the only problem is that he still hasn't got his memory back, and it is unlikely that he will." Blueblood said with worry. "Well then you're in luck because I know where to find it, the one place that Trixie didn't look, the mirror is in Twilights castle in Old Ponyville." Sunset Shimmer said. "Well then what are we waiting for, especially since that is close enough to several places where the last two elements may be hidden." Thorax said with determination. The next morning everypony had gathered in the throne room, those who were not present for the discussion were updated on where they would be going and what they were looking for, but not why. It had taken several hours by hoof to get to Ponyville, the reason the group went by hoof was so that nopony could track any magic, the group found the castle and that was when Blueblood made everypony stop. "Alright everypony, here is how we go about this, Thorax and Starlight, the two of you will take those who already have their elements, as for the rest of us, we will find the mirror while they find the remaining elements." Blueblood said as everypony divided into their groups. It wasn't long before Sunset recommended checking the library for the mirror, and sure enough it was there, and still set to how it was when the plan was put into motion so long ago. As for the others, the first place they all thought to check for the element of kindness was Fluttershy's shack, though it took a while, they found it, and they made sure that it was kept from sight by putting it into a chest like box. After about 3 hours, everypony had regrouped at the castle, and discussed which of the two remaining ponies would get the element of kindness, after about half an hour, Apple Bloom jumped into the conversation. "Look just give it ta Silver Spoon, and be done with it." Apple Bloom said with a commanding tone. "I don't think it is a good idea." Blueblood said. "Look I don't care anymore, Silver Spoon come over here please." Flurry Heart said. "Yes." was all Silver Spoon was able to say given the fact that she was nervous. "Put this on." Flurry Heart Requested. "Where am I?" "You're seeing what my home was once like, and that the forest wasn't always this bad." Fluttershy explained. "I see, well I don't know if I can ever live up to what you were, but thank you Fluttershy." With that, the conversation ended and Silver Spoon woke from her sleep, only to find that everypony had relocated to the Crystal Empire. "Sorry for the relocation, but the moment you put the necklace on,the changeling armada descended on Ponyville." Flurry Heart explained. "Is the mirror still safe?" Silver Spoon asked. "Yes it and the contraption it was hooked up to have been teleported here with us." After hearing that, Silver Spoon relaxed a little, but still had one other concern. "What about the element of laughter?" Flurry Heart actually didn't seem to worried when she heard that question. "Well, before leaving I quickly found it, I have yet to give it to it's rightful wearer." This caused Silver Spoon to relax completely. But one thing was certain, it would take some time to execute the final phase of the plan to revive Old Equus and defeat the evils that threaten her. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4: A New Friend to A New Foe //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4: A New Friend to A New Foe Everypony had gathered in the great hall, and Button Mash was waiting for the element of laughter to be given to him. Meanwhile in the Everfree Forest, Chrysalis was furious that she was not able to act against the group, Discord was still charging his power, and Sombra's aide had been sent to infiltrate his enemies. The Unicorn Mare had just arrived at the castle, and she knew that she had to facilitate a code-name, but she was unable to figure out a name that would match her cutie mark. Then it hit her, the name she would use was Fair Mind, she knew she would need to explain her mark, so she decided that it meant she was able to help others by making decisions through fair minded thought. She found this exciting since she never actually had a name to begin with, but she knew that her real name would be the name she was given by the orphanage Psychic Night. Psychic knew she had nothing to worry about since she was never seen except by those who entered Sombra's office. Psychic Night approached the castle, as she did she saw a Pegasus flying right at her and she dodged, this was when the real fun began. "Alright who are you and what are you doing here?" Scootaloo asked, ready to start charging. "My name is Fair Mind, I was running from a Changeling and then I ended up here, please let me in." Psychic said, hoping the Pegasus would fall for the trick, even if she didn't Psychic could make it so. "I suppose I'll take you inside, but you won't be going anywhere but into one of the rooms that aren't being used by me or my friends." Scootaloo said with a cautious stare. "Actually I was wondering if I could meet with whoever is in charge, that way I can at least make a first impression." Psychic said with a smile that could fool anypony. "Well then you're gonna have to wait, they're doing something that we need to keep secret." This made Psychic look down in disappointment. "Although, I suppose I could get one of our leaders to meet you, at least that way they know you're here." Scootaloo said causing a genuine smile from Psychic. "Oh I think you'll do more than that you pathetic fool." Psychic said with a malicious grin. With a quick glow of her horn, Psychic had teleported the two of them to a hill far from the castle, making easier for Psychic to take control of Scootaloo. "Hold still now, Psychic Mind will take perfect care of you, and then you will let me see Flurry Heart." With that, Psychics horn started to glow again and Scootaloo's eyes were drained of color momentarily, after a moment the color returned and Scootaloo got up and smiled at Psychic. Then after being teleported back, she led Psychic to one of the guest quarters and left to find Flurry Heart. Meanwhile, Button Mash had put the necklace on, and after falling, he found himself in front of a bakery. "It's about time, I mean when I agreed to this I didn't think it would be so lonely but now I can talk to you and you'll be able to talk to me, isn't this exciting." The Pink Earth Pony said rapidly without taking a breath. "Uh yeah, but aren't you gonna tell me anything useful, like what the grown-ups are talking about, releasing the princesses?" Button Mash asked, slightly nervous. "Oh, I can't tell you anything, that was for Starlight to know." Pinkie Pie replied. "Oh well thanks Pinkie Pie." With that, Button Mash woke up in a bed and he could hear voices outside his door. "So this Fair Mind, is she someone you remember from before the station?" Flurry Heart asked. "No." Was all Scootaloo said in reply. "I set her up in this room." Scootaloo said before knocking on the door. "Come in." Came the reply. "Fair, this is Flurry Heart, she is the one who makes the decisions around here." Scootaloo explained. "It's a pleasure to meet you ma'am." Psychic said while extending a hand. "The pleasure is mine, I hope you haven't been uncomfortable during your time here." Flurry Heart said as she copied Psychic and shook her hand. "Well I was actually wondering why I'm not allowed to walk around." Psychic said with a false curiosity. "Because we aren't sure if you are an agent of our enemies yet, if you can prove that you have no connection to them then you can roam freely, but until then I will have an associate escort you." This made Psychic frown, but then she heard footsteps and was worried. "Sunset, good timing, Scootaloo found her outside during her patrol, her name is Fair Mind, I was hoping you could escort her around, just until we have made sure she's not connected to 'them', okay." Flurry Heart requested. "Sure, Starlight is finished if you wanna get started." Psychic was intrigued but knew she wouldn't get very far if she asked so she simply decided to go for a classic. "Can I get something to eat, I haven't really had anything to eat recently?" Psychic asked, probably the first true thing she had said since meeting Scootaloo. "Sure, I'll take you to the kitchen to get some food." Sunset said with a cautious grin. The only problem Psychic had encountered here was the fact that Sunset had teleported her. "Hmm, got any curry?" Psychic asked, mainly because she wanted some of the famous zebra curry. "I wish, I might be able to get some." Sunset offered. "Sure, and i'd be glad to accompany you." Psychic said, her stomach rumbling. "I'll need to talk to Flurry Heart first just wait here." Sunset said. Meanwhile in the great hall Flurry Heart had gathered the new bearers of the Elements of Harmony in front of the mirror portal, just before she charged up her horn to produce a spell, Sunset came in and asked to see her. "What is it, I was just about to start?" Flurry Heart asked, clearly annoyed. "Fair Mind asked to accompany me to get some curry, so I told her I would check with you." Sunset said. "Keep an eye on her, the last thing I need is for you to go missing." Flurry Heart said. Sunset teleported back to the kitchen, and gave Psychic the verdict, and much to her own surprise, she was having a mini celebration. The two mares teleported to the station and went to Zecora's Curry Hut. "Ah, Councillor Sunset Shimmer, would care for a curry that has just been set to simmer." The elderly zebra asked in rhyme. "Actually Zecora, I was wondering if I could get thirteen to go." Sunset asked. "Throwing a get-together between friends or just a relationship to recommence?" Zecora asked. "Just a get together." Sunset replied. "Very well." With that Zecora had prepared thirteen take-away boxes full of curry. Not long after recieving them the two had teleported back after paying Zecora, they set a table so that everypony would be able to eat. Just then there was a slight rumbling sound and Sunset knew what had happened, her friends and former teacher were free. Psychic had gathered all the information she needed from Sunsets mind, and she decided that she would begin her plan. Meanwhile, back in the great hall, several Unicorns, Earth Ponies, Pegusi, and Alicorns had appeared out of nowhere and were slowly getting up. Not long after, the purple Alicorn was the first to wake up, and boy was she angry, so angry that she had to teleport to a cave, blast it until there was nothing left and then return to the castle. "What were you thinking, releasing us this early, surely those whom we defeated haven't got their memories back already." Twilight said furiously. "that is where you're wrong Princess." Everypony looked towards the door to see Psychic, flaring her true colors. "Sombra sends his regards, and have fun sorting out your friends and family back in the medical wing." With a laugh so deep that even Button Mash had feel afraid, Psychic Night teleported away. This was her revenge against many who walked past her and ignored her, those who merely lied and cheated their way into power, those who would oppose the stallion she owed everything to. Meanwhile back at his office, Sombra was surprised to see his aide back so soon, in fact he was tempted to scold her for such an early return, but instead, he decided to treat her as one of his true allies. "Report." Sombra ordered. "My task is done, they have been turned against each other, and my way of doing it will be hard to undo, rest assured that I have brought the worst side of the sisters out, they should insure our victory." Psychic said with a triumphant smile. "Very well, I should hope that you will remain loyal to me throughout this ordeal." Sombra said condescendingly. "Of course, I owe you my life, that alone is enough reason for me to stick by your side." Psychic said in an offended manner. "Very good, I have another task for you, and it is more dangerous than what you have already been through." Sombra said hoping she would refuse. "I will do whatever it takes to rid you of your enemies." Psychic said confidently. "Very well, I need you to find a dragon, this one is small and has been known to assist the purple Alicorn you saw." Sombra said. "I will do this, and I will not fail you." Hearing this, Sombra simply hid his disappointment. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5: Restoration and Loss //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5: Restoration and Loss The medical wing of the castle was being torn to shreds, mainly because those responsible are have an all out, everypony for themselves, fight to the end, grudge match. It was to the point where Twilight had all but lost hope, that was when her worst nightmare showed up, Discord had arrived and was using his magic to separate the feuding fighters. "Hello Twilight, I hope you don't mind the interruption, you see I detected a disturbance here and when I saw Fluttershy acting the way she was, I simply had to act." Discord said, showing no hostility towards her or any of the others. "Great job Discord now release me so that I can personally take care of these traitors." Celestia said in a rather angered tone. "Thou art using dulcet trickery, and for that, thee shall be forced to live in the sun for as long as thy see fit!" Luna said as she instantly transformed into Nightmare Moon. Seeing this, Discord quickly added a magic cap into the fields, this quickly defused the situation, Twilight was now the only one who stood a chance against the real threat, but only if she could unite the new elements, the question was how, then, it hit her, she simply had to help them find common ground. Soon after leaving the office, Psychic Mind was feeling confident. She was able to stall her enemies, and reveal Discord to be a traitor, now all she had to do was find an undersized dragon, this would be easy. Little did Psychic know that her target was not undersized, he was still young, and this complicated things, the dragon stirred ever so slightly, and then Psychic got an idea, one that would fool the dragon into following her blindly. "Spike, I finally found you, come on get up it's me Twilight." Psychic had extensive abilities, including the ability to change form, this she had been told was a rare ability and that she would be a fool to use it. "Twilight, I thought it would be longer than this." Spike said, a little suspicious. "So did I but Sombra has regained his memories, and so has Chrysalis, which is why we need to hurry and get back to the others." Psychic said, using Twilight's voice and form. "Alright, but first, you need to prove that you aren't a changeling or somepony who can change their form." Spike said with a smile. "Alright, the day you hatched was the day Rainbow Dash performed her first Sonic Rainboom, and the Day that Princess Celestia took me as her personal student." Psychic said having invaded Twilight's memories. "Alright, now I know that it is you, then we can go." Spike said, having fell for Psychics trick. Psychic then teleported both of them to Sombra and changed back to her usual self and that was when Spike saw what was happening, not only had he been tricked, but he had been tricked by an agent of Sombra. Meanwhile back on Old Equus, Twilight was trying to think of how she could reverse what had been done to her friends and family, and then it hit her, she could try a memory spell like she did when discord had changed her friends. "Discord, I need to speak with Celestia alone." Discord nodded and teleported both Celestia and Twilight to some twisted dimension of Discords making. Twilight said as she began charging her horn and pinning Celestia using her magic, also putting a dampener on her horn. "Alright an altered memory spell should work." Twilight said as Celestia began to struggle. Twilight's horn touched Celestia's head and Celestia looked like she had just woken up from a bad dream. Twilight stomped her foot four times and Discord brought them back, she then made sure that Celestia was able to walk freely, after what seemed like hours, Twilight had finally restored the entire group, and the defenders of harmony were reunited. It was only after the entire group had gathered that there was an intruder. "Well it seems that my spell was reversed quite quickly." Psychic said, half expected them to lash out. "I should inform you that I have the dragon, so if you intend to do my master any harm, then I shall return the favor by hurting poor little Spikey-Wikey." Psychic said before teleporting back to her rightful place. Leaving everypony in shock and worry. Now everypony was worried, Twilight was the only one who wasn't present when Spikes capture had been announced, and this meant that she needed to know, but who would tell her, that was what needed to be discussed. Meanwhile back on the station, there was a new uproar, Sombra had addressed the denizens of the station personally, and now he had plenty of supporters to get him on the council. Once this had happened, Sombra was able to gain control, and using his own abilities, he was able to teleport an army to Old Equus, an army poised to strike not only those within his alliance, but those who would oppose him. Psychic was nothing more than overjoyed to see that Sombra was finally getting his revenge, but she was also sad that she wasn't able to help lead the forces of her master to war. "You should realize that no matter what you do, he isn't gonna return your feelings, he cares only about himself." Spike said to the acting guard. "SHUT UP, you know nothing about what I feel, you know nothing of my life, he saved me, took me in to become his aide, he looked at me when nopony else would, so tell me, what do you know about my feelings?" Psychic shouted in pure emotional fury. "I know what it's like, I used to feel the same way about a mare who only looked at me the way a mother would her child, I know that you long for his love, but the best thing for you to do is admit that you love him, otherwise he is just going to keep looking at you the way I was looked at." Spike said, hoping to coax her into freeing him. "Even if you're just trying to help me sort out my feelings, I still won't let you out, after all you are the one reason they aren't trying to attack, and that is what I want." Hearing this, Spike was just about ready to give up when he saw the one mare he was just thinking about. "I think you're holding somepony that I would very much like to have released." Twilight said with a smile, one that confused Psychic and worried Spike. "I won't repeat myself, now let him go or I will do some serious damage to your clever mind, and that would hinder your precious abilities, so what's it gonna be, your mind or my friend?" Twilight said, with a freaky ultimatum. "I will not betray him, not so long as I live, so you can forget it, and there is something you failed to take into account, the fact that maybe I have linked myself with your dragon." Twilight had let this sink in while Psychic was laughing maniacally. "Why don't we make a deal, I can give him to you but you must let me take control of him so that I can see if when Sombra lays waste to your plans." Twilight felt hopeless in the face of Psychics counter, her own ultimatum was thought out much better than Twilight's own, this was not good. "I refuse allow either option, this is because, although you have a very powerful ability to use mind magic, I have an even more powerful ability, and it enables me to unify those around me, and I can easily overpower you." Twilight said, unsure of weather or not she would be able to bluff her way around this. "Sorry but I already know you're lying, as you said, I have a very powerful mastery, of mind magic, but that means you have chosen that he be kept here, so this is where you go goodbye and leave." Twilight was at the end of her rope, she had no way of getting Spike out, and that meant she would have to betray one friend or betray them all. Twilight looked at Spike and he looked back knowingly, they both knew that Twilight would choose the lesser of two evils. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Past of Psychic Mind //-------------------------------------------------------// The Past of Psychic Mind It was a usual day at the orphanage, Psychic would wake up and clean her room, she would then have a shower and get dressed, after she finished washing her pajamas and put them up to dry, then proceed to the kitchen so that she could have breakfast, then the outside activities. This was the worst part of her day, mainly because there was always a group of Pegasi that would treat her like she was the dust that they stirred in the air. Psychic Mind was only ever free during her time selling baked goods that the cooks made, this was to boost money for the orphanage, that and so that she had some spending money, this was why she had more than the others, because she knew how to approach those who asked her if they could buy what she had. The midday routine was easy to follow, Psychic could spend her time in her room and do as she wished until it was time for dinner, then she was pushed around and her food sent flying, meaning no dinner because there was only one serving per colt and filly in the orphanage. but tonight was different, this time she was approached by the supervisor, she wasn't one to waste her time, unless it was important. "Hello child, why do you sit in here doing nothing while the others eat?" The supervisor asked soothingly. "Because, mine ended up on the floor because of Beat." Psychic said, trying to hold back her tears. "Well then, perhaps you would like to have something to eat?" The Supervisor asked with a smile. "But I thought it was only one serve for each one of us." Psychic said with hope. "Yes but I am able to come and go as I please, so therefore I can leave the orphanage and take you with me, but ultimately whether or not you come with me is your choice." The supervisor said with a smile. "It wasn't long before Psychic agreed to go with the older mare, and it was also a chance to spend some of the spare change she had. Before long, the caretaker was told that Psychic would be with the supervisor, and that she wouldn't be back for a while. "Tell me little one, what exactly is it that Beat has been doing to you, especially during the day when you try to play outside." The supervisor asked kindly. "Well, he's been pushing me around, and taking my things, he only gives them back when we get called inside, then during dinner, he starts trying to poke me and push my plate around until it ends up on the floor." Psychic said with anger clear in her voice. Throughout the night, Psychic was simply answering questions, eating or trying to win prizes using her money. The next morning was when things got worse, Beat was actually trying to do more than hurt her, he was trying to frame her for things she didn't do. "Wing Beat and Psychic Mind please report to my office." The supervisors voice rang out through the speakers. Psychic looked at Beat and knew that he had done something to get her into trouble, and this was not a good thing for either of them. "Sit down both of you." The supervisor said in a demanding tone, one that was only used if the matter was a severe punishment. "Do either of you know why I called you here?" The supervisor asked, hoping they would answer truthfully. Probably because of what that liar's been up to." Wing Beat said with a smirk. "Wrong, the reason she called us here is because she's been watching us and knows the truth, so cram it and listen." Psychic said through seethed teeth. "The fact is, your hostility towards young mind here is unnecessary, unjust and unfair, especially since you are much stronger than she is." The supervisor said calmly. It took an hour, but eventually Wing Beat was told that he would go the next few days only being allowed to leave his room for meals. Within a week Psychic was saying her goodbyes to those who actually liked her, and this was because she had been adopted, and by Chancellor Sombra himself, she was the first one to actually show him any kindness he had told her. She spent the next few days unpacking her things at her new home and eventually she was told that she was only allowed to teleport to the orphanage, the curry place and the house, this didn't even bother her because she was able to do whatever she wanted without being pushed around. The one thing she had told Sombra, was that she was hoping to be able to practice her mind magic, and this was something that Sombra had allowed, purely because he was interested in this magic. From there on, Psychic was able to freely master her abilities, train as Sombra's right hand mare, become his aide, this was all so that she could show just how much she cared for him. "Psychic, just why is it that you would think that I would have allowed you to become my aide? Sombra asked, testing Psychic. "Because, of the fact that if you hadn't then you would not have such a powerful ally now, and you would still have a room full of incomplete forms." Psychic answered with a smile. Sombra was amazed at the fact that she predicted that she was his ally as well as his paper pusher, it made him smile to see just how much of the carefree child, who said spoke her mind so casually, had remained in her. In fact he refused to admit even to his own mind that there was more than just a father daughter connection between them, especially since he had not signed any forms. Three years had passed since Sombra had given Psychic the task of being his aide, and he had become a chancellor, and he also found an intriguing object, one that, after further examination, he had intended to give it to a historian, but his mind was opened to the false history, and his heart become black again. If that wasn't enough, he had started ponynapping civillians and torturing them, one day, Psychic recognized one of the captives, and she smiled with delight knowing that he was next. "Hello Wing Beat, long time no see, I guess things are gonna be the other way round." Psychic said whilst looking at him the way he looked at her back in the orphanage. "Please, I...I don't want to be hurt, I'm different now, please Psychic PLEASE...!" Wind Beat screamed while being dragged into a torture chamber. From there, she became a powerful being, and she loved it when she found out that Sombra had found those with the power to oppose him, and to make things seem better, she was able to get rid of the one she truly hated. That is the short version of the life of Psychic Mind, and it is filled with hard trials. When Apple Bloom arrived she sat down and waited for the next few hours. "Shuttle to Ponyville Satellite Shuttle Docks now boarding." The desk clerk shouted through the PA system. Apple Bloom quickly found her seat and buckled up, as the shuttle powered up, Apple Bloom decided that sleep would be a good idea because it was a ten hour journey, as sleep took hold she found herself dreaming of what Old Equestria would have been like. Like Apple Bloom, a very athletic fitness coach was also dreaming of Old Equestria and what Old Equestria's version of Cloudsdale would have been like for her and other pegasi, likewise a beautiful fashionista unicorn named Sweetie Belle also dreamt of Old Equestria, more specifically it's version of Ponyville. Then at the same time, they all saw five necklaces and a crown appear, then they heard a voice call them the Elements of Harmony. Apple Bloom disembarked the shuttle only to both run into and be tackled to the ground by her friends. "Hey there Bloom, hope your visit went well." Scootaloo said as she got up and helped her friends up off the ground. "Same here, because we all know how those oranges can be dear." Sweetie Belle said in her usual high uppercrust tone. "It went okay I guess, but I had a weird dream on the way back." Apple Bloom explained her dream to her friends and after she finished, they were just staring at her in shock. It was then that the trio noticed that somepony was eavesdropping, once notice she started walking over to them, and they recognised her as Silver Spoon. "Hey girls, long time no see, know that I am not like I was back in school, always pushing you around copying Diamond Tiara, I am a different mare now." Silver Spoon said with a smile. "I heard you talking about that dream and was wondering if this drawing matches your description?" Silver Spoon showed them a piece of paper with a drawing of five necklaces and a tiara, at the sight of it the three friends nodded and stared at the drawing. "So you four had the same dream as me then, weird." All four girls jumped at the sound of a stallions voice. As they turned around they realised who it was laughing at them after having scared them. "Button mash why the hell would you do that?" Sweetie Belle asked in a mix up of angry and embarrassed. "Because it's fun and you look really cute when you're angry." Button Mash stopped right there, realising what he just said, his cheeks started glowing red from embarrassment. "Well I never, I thought I was the only one to have that dream." The entire group turned around to see none other than the governess madam Flurry Heart, also the main investor for Sweet Apple Acres. "Madam Flurry Heart, what a surprise, I thought you wouldn't be coming from the Crystal Satellite for a few more weeks." Silver spoon said with increased joy. The six ponies turned around at the sound of hoofsteps approaching from behind them. "You six are coming with me, attempt to resist and I will blow up this shuttle bay." The group went without a problem after seeing the detonator in the strangers hand. The group eventually found themselves in an alleyway and as they walked into it they were hit by a draught of knock-out gas. Twilight Sparkle said, looking directly to the others who returned her grave expression. "I have devised several scenarios that are likely to work but only on is likeliest to succeed, my best level of success depends on the amount of magic we can muster." Twilight said as the others nodded in agreement. "Whatever you need, we will provide my faithful student." Celestia said with confidence. It had been a week since the meeting and twilight was going about how she would create the solid hologram and sustain it long enough to heal the land in later generations. "Spike would you bring me the book on space stations written by that Pegasus astronomer please." Twilight said to Spike. "Sure thing Twilight." Spike said. He left the room and started searching the bookshelves for the book, and considering he had read the book before, he knew exactly what he was looking for. He found it and took it straight to Twilight who thanked him and returned to her work. "This should prove useful in figuring out a design for the lifeboat." Twilight muttered to herself, unaware that her friends were outside her room listening to her. "Knock knock Twilight." Rainbow Dash said with a smirk, sending Twilight flying out of her seat. "Don't do again or I swear I will send you into the moon and then defrost you in the sun." Twilight shouted in complete fury, soon realizing that Rainbow Dash hadn't meant to scare her. "Sorry Rainbow, I've just been on edge lately, and I can't tell you why at the moment." Twilight said after calming down. "We were just wondering if ya wanted to stay over at Pinkies place." Rainbow said with a smile. "Sure, I'd love to, it would be a welcome break." It was just then that he heard a knock on his office door and Sombra was under the impression that it was merely his aide. "Enter." Hearing this, the door opened to reveal a fine figure, one who always seemed to be able to bring out Sombra's good side. "Good morning sir, I anticipated that you might be wanting something warm so I simply went and bought you some of Zecora's best curry." the aide said joyfully. "Once again you impress me, how are you always aware of what I need at any given moment?" Sombra inquired. "Because, I was born with a special kind of magic that can only be used if it is another's best interest, simply put, I have the rare ability to read minds and find what is most desired by the person whose mind is read." The aide said. "Well then, perhaps you wouldn't mind helping me in a certain matter?" Sombra asked with a smile. "If you're referring to tracking down the elements, then the task was done last night, they are hiding in the ruins of Canterlot Castle, they have everything they need to release those who can and would oppose you." Sombra was even more impressed at this, not only had she done the work that Chrysalis had failed to do, but she had also managed to spy on his enemies. "I think you may be more useful than that." "I'm already ahead of you, you wish for me to infiltrate them and try to pit them against each other, forgive me but shouldn't that be a last resort, as in should Discord fail." This was true but Sombra was desperate by now, he wanted to try to stop them and buy some time. "That is where you are wrong, because Discord is still trying to gather up some power for his attack, and you are going to buy time for that." The aide nodded and listened to the plan. both of the Unicorns in the room knew that this was a desperate move, but a necessary one.
