If you change your opinion.

He arrived Ponyville at some day of August, when Twilight had given him life, he would've liked to meet the dragon lands in other conditions, but things had gotten pretty tense for Spike after the 'Spikezilla' incident.

He still remembered the day when he arrived at the dragon lands, he was really small back then, and he had struggles to find where he belonged, he tried to approach the teen dragons, but they just made fun of him for living among ponies before.

He was sad, but suddenly, some other dragon had decided to save Spike, at first, Spike thought that it was a male dragon, mainly because when they appeared, they scared the life out of the teen dragons by breathing a large fire that was superior to any amount of fire they could breathe, but his thoughts changed when 'she' turned around, it was a dragoness.

Spike didn't know if he should be scared or not, but that changed when the dragoness got near him, she assured him that everything would be fine if he sticked with her, her name was 'Burning Core' and she looked really happy to have met Spike, maybe a little too much.

The first week was weird, the dragoness had shown him the dragon lands, and had introduced him to the dragon lord, who was HUGE by the way, Spike's new friend was very nice to him, she even took Spike to a nice walk by the forest next to the dragon lands; but there was something fishy about this dragoness, and Spike had noticed it, because whenever he was around, she seemed to tense up, and whenever they had physical contact, like grabbing their claws, she blushed furiously, but Spike didn't seem to pay much attention to it.

Spike was living the life like no one before, thanks to his friend, he had somewhere to stay, something to eat, more dragon friends who helped him with whatever he needed, and protection from the older dragons, like Garble, plus, now he could have a 7 hour lava bath with bubbles without wasting the entire water reserves from Ponyville, instead, he could stay in the lava for as long as he liked.

But, even though it was a good life, there were times when Spike felt really homesick, he really missed Twilight and his other friends, besides, ponies are a LOT more friendly than dragons, he missed hanging out with the CMC trying to get them their cutie marks or going on a gem hunt with Rarity, who by the way, he still loved.

But the confession came the third week...

Spike was playing 'search the diamond' with his friends, but, in the middle of the game, Burning Core called him to a lonely cave nearby, Spike was curious, so he went along, once they were in there, Spike was about to ask the reason for this, but was suddenly cut off by a direct assault on his lips by hers. The kiss didn't last long, Spike had pushed her off him, and Spike asked why did she do that for, but the dragoness responded with soft eyes, Spike didn't have to hear it from her, because the look she had given him was enough to make him understand everything.

After that, Spike reflected on his friend alone, she was fun to be around with, strong mentally and physically, kind to him, and she was beautiful, maybe Twilight's books were right, maybe dragons are attracted to strong females, Burning Core was a dragoness among simple vulgar beasts, besides, they had talked about ponies before, and Burning was cool with them, she was truly something special.

But life gives plot twists you never expect, because one day of his fourth week in the dragon lands, he burped a letter from Rarity, the letter said that going on a gem hunt without Spike wasn't the same, and that Twilight was really missing him, in fact, she misses him so much that when she goes nuts, there is no one capable of calming her down, all of his friends in Ponyville missed him too, but she specified that she missed him, but Rarity also told Spike that he could stay in the dragon lands for as long as he liked, after all, he needed to rest from the ponies that hated him for the 'spikezilla' thing.

After he read the letter, he threw it into a pool of lava, he didn't want any dragons to read it and blackmail him with it, but he couldn't stop thinking about the letter, and about Rarity, he thought about her personality, she was always so generous, and she had quite the looks too, but what made Spike really hopeful was that he had spent the last time of his life by her side, and she didn't seem to be tired of him, in fact, he remembered her saying that she enjoyed being with him.

Spike had to make his decision, and once he did, he knew that he couldn't go back, if he went to Ponyville, then he couldn't go back to the dragon lands because the bullies would just burn him to a crisp, and if he stayed in the dragon lands, then he wouldn't be able to go back to Ponyville, after all, if he spends just one more week there, then he would be in love with the dragon lands and he wouldn't want to go back.

After some thinking, Spike decided that he should go back to Ponyville, that's where Twilight was waiting for him, right? That's where his old friends were waiting for him, right? and most importantly, that's where the love of his life is, right?

After one day of good byes, Spike went to the edges of the dragon lands, he heard steps behind him, and behind him, he saw Burning Core with a sad expression on her face. Spike asked her what was wrong, and she answered telling him that he was only doing this because he didn't like her, Spike reassured her by telling her the story of the letter, and he told her that no matter the distance they were apart from each other, they would always be friends; They shared one last kiss on the lips before Spike was on the road again...

In Ponyville, a stressed fashionista paced back and forth inside her Boutique before looking out at the sky, she wanted to stay out of the view of a certain drake, and she hoped that if Spike came back to Ponyville, then he would visit Twilight and stay in the library instead of visiting her, maybe that way things wouldn't be much awkward when they meet in the morning.
