Emma was on the side of the sidewalk, just sitting there, looking down at her dirty hands. She was only thirteen, yet she was all alone. She had no where else to go, no friends, no family, no nothing. The only place she could go was the school, but that was closed down. She was smart, and tried to do her best in school, in hopes of one day getting a job, with a house, and family.
"I'm really bored, and really tired." Emma complained, as some walkers by just ignored her, as if she didn't even exist. Her stomach began to growl.
"Oh come on, I just ate stomach, what more do you want from me?" Emma asked, annoyed. She sighed. "Fine, I'll get something to eat real quick....." She put her hands in her pockets, and pulled them out, but to only be greeted with nothing. "Of course, I spent it all on my last meal, dammit."
She sighed, as she slowly began to lift herself up. "Well, it looks like I'm going to have to steal, again." Emma hated stealing food from other people, but she had to, to survive. It's not like they would help her anyway, all they see her as, is a rat on the street. A waste of space.
"The market is still opened, I can get some apples in there, or something." Emma said, walking over there. Once there, she went into the shop, the bell rang out the store, getting the cashier gave her a smug look.
"If your not going to buy anything, then you should just leave right now." The cashier said, glaring at her.
"Would you relax? I will, just because I'm homeless, doesn't mean I don't have any spare money." Emma said, as she then turned to walk down the aisle. The store was empty, luckily for her. She found her way to where the apples were.
"Jackpot...." She said, licking her lips, wanting to taste the delicious fruits of the apples. She picked them up, one by one. On her fifth one, the cashier caught her.
"Thief!" He shouted, as he got up, and began to make his way to the girl. He grabbed her arms, which made her drop some of the apples she was holding.
"Let me go!" Emma shouted, kicking him right in-between his legs. He let go, and let out a yelp of pain. She ran to the front door, and the cashier stumbled to it. As soon as Emma got out, so did the cashier.
"Someone, stop that thief!" The cashier shouted. This got the attention of an officer, who was walking on the sidewalk. He looked in the direction the cashier was pointing at, and saw the girl, who was giving him a shocked look.
"Stop right there, thief!" The officer shouted, pulling out a black blunt object.
"Uh oh." Emma said, as she began to make a run for it in the ally way. The officer chased her, as she pushed objects down, to try and slow the officer. Soon, she came out of the ally, and into what seemed to be some sort of park. She continued running, as fast as she could. She looked back.
"I think I lost him, now I can- GAH!" Emma's words were cut off, once she felt herself falling. She looked down, and saw a lake. She closed her eyes, getting ready for the impact. She fell right into the lake, with a big splash.
"MMmmmmm... MMmmmmm!" Emma cried, as she felt herself going deeper into the water. This is the end of it. This is where she would die, and yet, no one would even care that she is gone. She soon saw a bright light, coming from above the water. She swam up to hit, eventually getting her head above the water. She gasped for air, as she began to make her way to the end of the lake.
"What..... What's happening......?" Emma asked, coughing up some water that got in her mouth. She looked around, and saw that she was not in the same place that she was at before, in fact, it was completely different than before.
"Where am I?" Emma asked, looking around her surroundings. She was in an opened field, without another soul in sight. "Hello? Is anyone there?" Her calls were responded with only the silence. She then thought about what had happened.
I was in a lake..... Then I'm here? What's going on? I should probably go find someone that can help me. Emma thought, as she began to make her way down the field. As she walked, she noticed that things seemed to be more colorful.
"It looks like I'm in a cartoon." Emma said, shocked at what she was seeing. She continued her walk, but then stopped, with her mouth wide opened to what she had saw. There was a town, but that's not what had shocked her, what shocked her, was the fact that there was talking ponies in the town.
"What the..... How are they talking?!" Emma asked, with a shocked expression. She thought about it for a moment. Maybe they were friendly, after all, how can talking colorful ponies not be friendly? She gulped down her nervousness, and went into the town. Once she entered, all the ponies stopped there conversations, and gave her a weird look.
"Um..... Hi?" Emma said, waving her hand. Her stomach then growled loudly, causing everypony to scream with terror, and run away.
"Wait! I'm just hungry!" Emma shouted.
"Did you hear that? It's going to eat us!" A pony shouted.
"I- what? Who said I was going to eat you?!" Emma asked, causing the pony to run away.
"Get the elements!" One of them shouted.
Well, this didn't turn out well.... Emma thought, as she then began to run out of the town. What did they mean by, The Elements? Ah, who cares, I just need to get out of here! She got a good distance away, before she tripped over something.
"Ow!" Emma shouted, as she made her way to the ground.
"It's defenseless! Get it!" One of the ponies shouted. Before Emma could do anything, she felt the weight of two ponies on her. She then felt rope get tied around her arms, so she couldn't move them anymore.
"Hey! Let me go!" Emma shouted, but the ponies did not do what she asked. She was in big trouble.
Fluttershy was in her cottage, tending to the needs of her animals. This is how she spent most of her mornings, feeding the animals, and taking care of the one's that had either horrible, or light injury's.
"There you all go, eat up now." Fluttershy said, with a warm smile. The peacefulness was interrupted, when Fluttershy heard a loud knocking on the door.
"Oh, whoever could that be?" Fluttershy asked, with a curious look on her face. She went up to the door, and answered it, only to reveal her five friends, all with serious looks on their faces. "Oh, hello girls, would you-" Fluttershy was cut off, by Twilight.
"Fluttershy, there's no time! There is a dangerous monster in ponyville." Twilight said, causing Fluttershy to gasp .
"Oh my, is it destroying ponyville?" Fluttershy asked, with a look of great concern on her face. Twilight shook her head.
"No, we managed to get it tied up, we believe that it was going to try, though." Twilight said.
"Do.... Do you need me....?" Fluttershy asked.
"Of course we do!" Rainbow Dash said. "Why else would we be here?" Fluttershy nodded her head.
"Okay..... I'll go, I guess." She said. They nodded their heads, before leaving the cottage, and going down to ponyville. Once there, Fluttershy could see a crowd of ponies, circling something. When she saw what they were looking at, she gasped. The creature that was sitting there, was wearing dirty cloths, had both arms tied behind her back, and she was extremely dirty.
"Okay great, you caught me...." Emma said. "Even though I didn't do anything...." instead of having a face of anger, she had a face that made her seem more annoyed then anything else. "Can I go now? So i don't have to bother you again?" She was cut off, by Twilight slamming her hoof down.
"Silence, creature!" She said, causing her to shut up. "Is it true that you wanted to destroy ponyville." Emma looked at her, with a confused look.
"No, who told you that?" Emma asked.
"You are a lair." Twilight said. "All the other ponies said that you were going to try to destroy the town, and eat them." Emma was about something else, but was cut off by Twilight.
"Look, I'll send a letter to Princess Celestia, and we'll know what to do with you, then." Twilight said. Emma's eyes shrunk. She couldn't go up against a princess, she would never be able to convince them that she was not a bad person. She had one other option. Escape.
"Hey, is that giant bird coming towards ponyville?!" Emma asked, with a horrified expression. They all turned in the direction that she was looking at, giving her the perfect chance to escape.
"What are you talking about, I don't see-" She cut herself off, as she saw that Emma was running away. All the ponies gasped.
"Hey! Get back here!" Rainbow Dash shouted, as she began to fly towards the teen. Emma knew she was coming, so she quickly went into the ally way, and hid in the trash that was near by. As Rainbow flew into the ally way, she could no longer see her.
"Dang it! Lost sight of her!" Rainbow said, annoyed at herself for losing track of Emma so easily. Twilight ran up to Rainbow.
"What? You lost her? We have to find her, before she does something bad to ponyville!" Twilight said, and Rainbow nodded in agreement. The mane six then went back into the town, to look for her.
"That was close..." Emma said. She tried her best to get out of the trash, but it was hard, due to the fact that her hands were still tied. "I need to hide" Emma said, as she began to make her way out of ponyville. She made it out, and began to run back into the open field she came from.
She turned around, to see of anypony was following her. and saw a light yellow Pegasus, who was just standing there, watching her, with concern in her eyes. Emma didn't care, she couldn't trust these ponies, not after what they did to her.
"I need to find a way to get these ropes off my wrists." Emma said, as she ran. She ran for a few minutes, before spotting a tree, that had a piece of wood sticking out of it. "I can use that to cut the rope." She then put the rope around the wood, and began to move it up and down, cutting it in the process.
"There we go, now my hands are finally free." Emma said, with delight in her voice. "Now, if I can just find somewhere good to stay." She then looked around, looking for something she could stay in, somewhere where she was wanted, hopefully. Her eyes eventually caught sight of what seemed to be an abandoned house.
"That would be a good place to start." Emma said, as she began to make her way to the old house. "Hopefully, there's no ponies living in there." She walked to the house, and entered through the door with ease. It was mostly empty, with the acceptation of some broken furniture, and what appeared to be a lantern that needed to be lit up with a flame.
"Good thing I always carry around this lighter, though I wonder if it would even work in this world...." Emma said, as she lit the lighter. "I guess it does......" She then lit the lantern, which in return, lit up the room better.
"Great, I guess I'll look around a bit." Emma said, as she slowly began to walk around the old, creaky house.
A few moments later.....
"Fluttershy, along with The Mane Six, were all in Twilights library, and they all had guilt plastered on their faces.
"What have we done.....?" Twilight asked, looking at the letter that she received from Princess Celestia, just only a few moments ago.
Dear Twilight Sparkle
I wish I could send you this letter on a better note, but there is a new creature that Luna brought
in Equestria. Her name is Emma, and she is a thirteen homeless girl, who had no one to take care
of her. I hope that you will all treat her with the kindness and respect that she deserves. In case you
don't know what she looks like, here is the picture

They all read the letter over and over again. The picture, had the same exact creature, of the creature that they chased out of ponyville.
"Ah.... Ah can't believe we did that." Applejack said, with a few tears in her eyes. "Ah can't believe we chased her out of here, just because we thought she was a monster..." Rainbow Dash had a confused look.
"The kid has been homeless, but if she wasn't hurting anypony, then why were they saying she was some horrible creature?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"I have the answer to that." Twilight said. "It's because the ponies have never seen anything like her before, so they all just assume that she is some awful monster that wants to destroy everything.... But she's not a monster..." She felt a few tears in her eyes. Fluttershy was just sitting there, not really sure on what to do.
The poor child, why didn't I try to help her? Fluttershy asked herself, but her thoughts were interrupted by Twilight.
"Alright everypony, we need to fan out, and search for her, I just hope that she is still alive out there..." Twilight said. Just as they were about to leave, they heard rapid knocking at the door.
"Who is it?" Twilight asked, while opening the door. The CMC'S were there, but they were out of breath. Applejack, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash went over to them.
"What the hay happened to you girls?" Applejack asked.
"There..... There is a monster....... In a house!" Scootaloo said, trying to catch her breath. They all gasped, but they had a good idea on what "Monster" They were talking about.
"Girls, this is very important, when was the last time you saw the monster?" Twilight asked.
"In the old house outside of ponyville." Sweetie Belle said.
"Take us there." Twilight said. Fluttershy was now even more worried for the child.
A few moments earlier
Emma was on the couch in the living room of the house, and she was reading a book that she had found buried under stuff, like furniture, and what not. She had the lantern next to her, so she could see better. She had also found a knife in the kitchen, the only reason she had it, was for self defense if needed.
"Man, these ponies know how to write." Emma said. A thought came to her. "Well, since the ponies here hate me for no reason, I wonder if I would be able to go anywhere else other than this run down house...." She was interrupted, when she heard the front door opening, then shutting.
"Well, we're here." The voice of a young filly said. "Why are we here again?" Emma was confused.
"We're here, to try to get our cutie marks at exploring creepy houses that nopony lives in" Another voice said, making Emma even more confused.
What the...... What's a cutie mark? Emma asked herself. Suddenly, the door to the living room opened, only to reveal three young filly's, who looked like they were still in elementary school.
"Well, Ah think we should......." The voice that belonged to the other one trailed off, as she saw Emma, who was sitting on the old, torn sofa.
"Um........ Hi?" She waved awkwardly, but this only caused the filly's to scream, and run out of the living room, and out of the house.
"Wait!" Emma shouted, getting up, which caused the lantern to get knocked over, and fall on an old piece of cloth, which turned it aflame. She looked down at her legs, as she sat back down. "Why..........? Why does no one want me?" She didn't even care about the fire that was quickly spreading, in fact, she welcomed it.
"Wait, what?!" Applebloom said, as she, her sister, and her friends were running down the pathway, to the old house that they saw. "She's not a monster?" Applejack nodded her head.
"That's right, she's ain't, but she has no family, and no friends, that's why were trying to find her." Applejack said, causing Applebloom to have an even more shocked expression.
"That's just sad." Scootaloo said. Meanwhile, Fluttershy was stuck in her own thoughts.
I really hope she's okay, I really hope she's... "WHAT THE-" Fluttershy's thought's were interrupted, as she saw what Twilight saw. The burning house just a few feet in front of them.
"Oh no, do you think...." Fluttershy asked, and Twilight nodded her head. "We need to go get her!" They all once again nodded their heads in agreement. The CMC'S were about to follow them, but were stopped by their sister's.
"Stay out here, alright?" Rarity asked them, and they all nodded their heads again.
"Girls, I have a spell that can protect us from the smoke." Twilight said, as she casted the spell on them. Once that was done, they went into the burning house. They were in some sort of hallway, with flames on some of the walls.
"Let's fan out, and try to find her, we need to be quick!" Twilight said, as they all split up. As Fluttershy was looking, she came across an open door, and she slowly and carefully opened it. She went inside, and saw a room with flames, and Emma, who was sitting on the couch, holding a knife.
"Girls, I found her!" Fluttershy shouted, and the mane six came almost instantly. They all stared at her for a moment, she was just sitting there, with the knife in her hands. Twilight's horn glowed, as she casted the smoke protection spell on Emma. She noticed this, along with the mane six.
"I-It's you, again...." Emma said, pointing at the mane six. Rainbow Dash began to hover towards her.
"Kid, we need to get out of here, this place is going to-"
"GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!" Emma shouted, pointing the knife at Rainbow, who quickly backed off.
"Put the knife down!" Rainbow asked, but Emma shook her head.
"No, I wont....." Emma said, looking away for a second, before looking back, with some tears in her eyes. "How.... How could you do this to me? I never did anything to you, and yet, you just tie me up, and treat me like all I am is a waste of space." They were about to say something, but they were cut off by Emma's rant.
"Worst of all, is that you made me realize that I'm not wanted anywhere." Emma said coldly. "You don't know what it's like, to be just some pile of trash on the side of the road, you don't know what it feels like to be unloved, unwanted, It's..... horrible..."
"Look, we're all sorry for the way we treated you..." Twilight said. "But we need to get out of here, before this place burns to the ground!" Emma gave her a cold look.
"Do you really believe you can save me?" Emma asked, walking up to them a bit, while the fire just got a little stronger. "Let me ask you this, will you love me? Protect me from the dangers in life? Heal all of my pain from being unloved, and unwanted? Most importantly, will you treat me, like a normal living being?" The mane six just stood there, in silence.
"That's what I thought." Emma said. "You won't, because all you see, is a monster." She then turned around, and started to walk to the other door, deeper into the flaming abyss. She turned around again. "Just.... Please don't forget me, you don't have to forgive me, just never forget me, if you don't want me, that's the one thing I ask for."
"I will." The voice of Fluttershy said. Emma turned around, with a confused expression.
"Really? You wouldn't tie me up again, or call me a monster, or-" She was cut off, when she felt Fluttershy's tight embrace around her.
"Of course, we are all still sorry for the way we treated you, I hope we can make it up to you..." Fluttershy said, with a kind voice. Emma looked up at her, with a smile.
"I.... I believe you....." Emma said. Fluttershy smiled back, but then she heard cracking coming from the ceiling. She quickly moved both of them out of the way, as part of it fell onto the floor.
"We need to get out of here!" Twilight said, as they all began to make a mad dash out of the house. They ran out of it, and a few moments after they did, the structure couldn't last any longer, as it all fell to the ground in rubles, also causing the flames to go out. There was a crowed now, and there were harsh whispers.
"THE MONSTER!" One of the ponies shouted. All the other ponies were about to run away again, but where stopped when they hit an invisible wall.
"Stop! All of you stop!" Twilight said, using her magic for the invisible wall. They all turned, and Fluttershy walked up to them.
"She isn't a monster." Fluttershy said. "She's been through a lot, and she would never hurt anypony." She looked back to Emma. "I know she wouldn't....." Twilight looked at all of them.
"Go home, everypony, we'll discuss this in the morning." Twilight said, and just like that, they all left the sight, to go back to their houses. Fluttershy looked back at Emma.
"You can stay with me for as long as you want." Fluttershy said, and then Pinkie spoke up.
"I'll throw you a super duper, "We're sorry for being mean to you." Party!" Pinkie said.
"Alright..... I guess....." Emma said.
"Let's go home." Fluttershy said. They all nodded, as they walked back down to ponyville.
Emma was in Fluttershy's guest bedroom, just looking out the window. She had thanked Fluttershy for letting her stay in the room.
"Are you going to go to bed soon?" The voice of Fluttershy asked. Emma turned around, and smiled at Fluttershy.
"Probably." Emma said. Fluttershy smiled back.
"If you need anything, just ask." Fluttershy said, and Emma nodded. She also knew where Fluttershy's room was.
"I will." Emma said. Fluttershy smiled, and walked into her own room. Emma turned back to the window.
Maybe this is where I belong... Emma thought to herself. She turned around, and walked over to her bed. She turned out the lantern that was on the nightstand. Maybe......
Alternative Ending.....
"Do you really believe you can save me?" Emma asked, walking up to them a bit, while the fire just got a little stronger. "Let me ask you this, will you love me? Protect me from the dangers in life? Heal all of my pain from being unloved, and unwanted? Most importantly, will you treat me, like a normal living being?" The mane six just stood there, in silence.
"That's what I thought." Emma said. "You won't, because all you see, is a monster." She then turned around, and started to walk to the other door, deeper into the flaming abyss. She turned around again. "Just.... Please don't forget me, you don't have to forgive me, just never forget me, if you don't want me, that's the one thing I ask for...."
Emma turned around, to the other door, and began to walk towards it. Everypony was speechless. Emma then opened the other door, and looked back at them.
"Goodbye, I don't belong in my world, and I don't belong here, so... That means that I never should have existed..." Emma said.
"Wait!" Fluttershy shouted, but it was too late. A part of the ceiling fell down, forever blocking the paths of Emma, and the mane six. Emma then closed the door behind her, never to be seen again. The building was falling down.
"We need to go!" Rainbow Dash said. They had to pull Fluttershy away, and out of the burning house, as it collapsed.
One Week Later....
Fluttershy was at the house, the one that fell down because of the fire. Nopony ever even bothered to remove the wood. Emma had died. Fluttershy let a few tears fall from her eyes. Those words repeated in her mind.
Never Forgive Me, Never Forget Me Fluttershy then put on a warm smile.
"I'll never forget you, Emma. You'll always be remembered...." Fluttershy said. She couldn't let her death effect her forever. She wiped away her tears, as she walked back down to ponyville. Emma only wants to be remembered. She is at peace now, and will be forever be remembered, as the human who came to Equestria......
