The New Kid in Canterlot High

Storm Feathers rubbed the back of his head with his claw. Sunset used to hit him pretty hard when he did something or said something wrong. Though, as time went on, her hits became less hurtful and more playful. Storm Feathers couldn't stop the grin on his face as he noticed the moon rising. It was the perfect chance to sneak into Twilight's castle. He looked at all the possible areas where he can get in. To his confusion, Storm Feathers didn't see any guards. 'What kind of princess didn't have any guards to protect her and her home?' he thought.

A small sound got his attention. Out of instinct, Storm Feathers quickly spread out his wings and flew off. He prayed that nopony saw him. If ponies heard that there was a griffon in ponyville, then he knew that Twilight would think that it could be him. After all, he did just recently try to pounce on her for not telling him something that needed to be kept a secret. After deciding that he was a good distance away from the noise he allowed himself to relax. He rested for a couple of minutes, thinking on his next move. If somepony did see him, then it would be wise to sneak into the castle now and get the information as quick as he can. Though, that could just get him into more trouble. Besides, maybe he was overeating and a bunny caused the sound. He was still thinking when he saw princess Twilight go into her castle. 'It's now or never. Maybe I can eavesdrop and get some information on Sunset,' Storm Feathers thought. Luckily, it was dark out so his black feathers would allow him to camouflage. He silently flew next to an open window. He took a quick peek inside and saw princess Twilight talking with another mare and a baby dragon.

"I'm not sure what his connection with Sunset is, but I'm sure you did the right thing Twilight," the baby dragon said. Twilight still looked unsure, but luckily the other mare put her hoof around her. Storm Feather growled a bit. Ever since Sunset vanished, anything friendship related made him just a bit jealous.

"You didn't see the way he looked Spike," Twilight said, "He looked so desperate to see her again. I bet he was friends with Sunset. After all, he yelled at me about being the princess of friendship. I know I need to keep the human world a secret, but I just feel guilty." Twilight lowered her head to the ground in guilt, her ears folding back on her head. 'Human world?' Storm Feathers questioned in his head. The mare and the baby dragon, named Spike apparently, looked at one another before the mare suddenly smiled.

"You could write to Sunset about him! If she knows and trusts him to keep a secret about her home on the other side of the portal, then you can go find him and tell him about it!" the mare suggested." Twilight's ears twitched as she raised her head back up with a smile. Though Storm Feather just had an even more confused look on his face. 'She's living on the other side of a portal. Maybe that portal lead to the human world,' he thought.

"Of course! Your a genius Starlight Glimmer!" Twilight said as she ran towards a mirror with all sorts of wires and machines and grabbed the book on top of it. She opened her book and asked Spike to get a quill. Spike nodded and seemingly pulled out a quill out of nowhere. Storm Feathers blinked and shook his head. Spike gave Twilight the quill as she started writing. Everypony's attention was on the book which he didn't quite get. How can writing in a book talk to Sunset? Though, Storm Feathers took this opportunity to silently sneak into the room. He hid behind a large pile of books in the corner. He smirked. This was perfect! Once Twilight, Spike and Starlight Glimmer, were out of the room, he can go and find Sunset. "There! Message sent. Now all we need to do is wait for her to respond," Twilight yawned, "and now we can sleep. Let's get to bed."

"Yes!" Storm Feathers silently cheered. He quickly covered his beak though once Starlight Glimmer turned his direction. She looked around, confused. Fortunately for him, she shrugged and went out of the room. Everypony was gone and now Storm Feathers can go find Sunset. He looked at the book that Twilight had recently wrote in. If this book was used to contact Sunset, then maybe it has information that could help him. He read a couple of pages in the journal. After some time, he finally figured out how it worked. You write something in the book and Sunset somehow gets the message and can write back to you, but her message will appear in the same book. "Magic is weird," Storm Feathers whispered.

It had been about an hour until Storm Feathers got enough useful information. Most of the letters just talked about how there were doing and Storm Feathers couldn't help but feel jealous and hurt that Sunset was having fun with new friends. Back when she was Princess Celestia's student, she didn't want any friends, so what changed? Was he not good enough? Storm Feathers growled and shook his head. He'll ask that once he found Sunset. With the information on the portal and the other world, he was prepared to face what was coming. As he recalled from his readings, he placed the book back on the top of the mirror and watched in awe as the mirror pulsed. He gently touched the surface of the mirror, no portal, and smiled as he saw it ripple. "I'm coming Sunshine!" Storm Feathers said as he went into the portal.

In the human world, Sunset Shimmer groaned as she got up from bed. The annoying beeping noise from her alarm clock went silent as she hit the button on top of it. Sunset stretched and slowly got up only to lay down on the bed again.

"I hate mornings," Sunset complained. She knew she had to go to school, but she really didn't want to get up yet. Maybe she could not go to school today. After all, how will she do good when she's exhausted. When her eyes started to close, the alarm clock began beeping again. Sunset growled. She really hated that alarm clock. Sunset sighed and got up from bed. She took a quick shower and got ready for school. She chose her blue jeans and the light blue blouse with her signature leather jacket. (I don't know colors or clothing very well. It's what Sunset looked like in Friendship Games) Sunset looked at the time on her phone and smiled. She had plenty of time, and that means, she didn't have to run to school. Sunset grabbed her bag and said goodbye to her pet, Ray. Once Sunset got to Canterlot High, she immediately saw her friends, old and new. The Rainbooms, Trixie, and Wallflower Blush noticed her and waved.

"SUNSET OVER HERE!!" Pinkie Pie called rather loudly. A lot of students turned in Pinkie's direction and just shrugged. Just Pinkie being Pinkie. Sunset walked towards them with a smile.

"Hey Pinkie," Sunset greeted, "How have you girls been?"

"Great! We missed you SOOOO much. It's been forever since we saw you!" Pinkie responded.

"Uh, Pinkie. We just saw her yesterday in school," Rainbow said. Pinkie giggled.

"Well it feels like forever! OH OH! Get this. We are getting a new student today! I can't wait to meet her. Or him. Oh I can't wait! I'm soo nervouscited!" Pinkie rambled cheerfully. Sunset smiled and rolled her eyes. Pinkie always loved meeting and making new friends. The school bell rang.

"We better get to our classes now," Applejack stated. Everyone went inside except for Sunset. She turned her head towards the portal. She had a feeling something is going to happen today. She just hoped it wasn't anything bad.
The school bang rang.

"Horseapples, I'm late to class," Sunset said. She didn't think she was staring at the portal that long. She went inside the school and ran to her first class. When she turned a corner she bumped into someone. Sunset took a step back and held her head in her hand. Unfortunately for the other person, they fell on the ground with a loud thump. Both of them groaned from the hit.

"Ah, Sunset. I was hoping to bump into you, but it seems like the new student beat me to it," Principal Celestia joked, "Why are you here running in the halls and not in class?" Sunset froze and sheepishly rubbed the back of her head.

"I, uh, was late to class, so I ran there before I got too late," Sunset answered with an uneasy smile. Principal Celestia chuckled.

"Again? Well we can talk about this later. I want you to give a tour of our school to our new student. Storm Feathers, meet Sunset Shimmer. Sunset Shimmer meet Storm Feathers." Principal Celestia said. Sunset Shimmer's eyes went wide as she looked at the boy sitting on the ground. His skin was a light grey and his hair was black with a light blue streak that was shaped like a lightning bolt. He wore ripped jeans, a dark blue short sleeve t-shirt that had a light blue lightning bolt on it, and a pair of black converse. He smirked at Sunset. It's impossible that the Storm Feathers she hung out with as a filly was here. This had to be this worlds Storm Feathers. Why did he have come here now? Especially since she couldn't get him out of her head after the memory stone incident. She realized that she was staring and started to blush.

"I, uh...I'm sorry for bumping into you," Sunset apologized. She helped him back up and started to notice how tall he was. Storm Feathers was a head taller than her. They both smiled at each other before looking away to hide a blush.

"It's fine," Storm Feathers replied, "You know, you remind me of somepo- uh someone." Was he about to say somepony? 'No it must be my imagination. Or wishful thinking,' Sunset thought.

"You remind me of someone too," Sunset said.

"Really now?" Storm Feathers asked.

"Yup! He's really something," Sunset said shaking her head, "Well let's get on with the tour." She looked at Principal Celestia who just nods and leaves.

"Alrighty then! Lead the way Sunshine," Storm Feathers said causing Sunset's eyes to widen.

"Wh-What did you call me?" Sunset stuttered. Storm Feathers realized his mistake, but quickly composed himself.

"Sunshine. Thought it was a cute nickname for you," Storm Feathers replied smoothly, "If you want, I can stop calling you that." Sunset's brain took a few seconds to work again. 'Do all Storm Feathers think the same way? Ugh..this is going to be a long day,' Sunset thought.

"It's fine. Just caught me off guard. Come on, I want to introduce you to my friends," Sunset said.

Storm Feathers couldn't believe it. Once he went through the portal he knew what to expect, but everything had caught him off guard. Luckily, hands were like claws, but standing was a problem. Fortunately, he was able to get the hang of it, but kind of lost balance when Sunset bumped into him. He had to contain his happiness once he saw Sunset. I mean, how can he forget her beautiful eyes and wonderful voice. Even in a different form, she still looked beautiful. Especially when she blushes. It also seemed that Sunset didn't forget him which was amazing! He noticed she changed a bit in attitude. She was more calm and collected than before. She was also more friendly towards others. He saw her wave to many people. Though, that was expected when ponies get older. However, one thing was on his mind. Should he tell her that it's him from Equestria? He read about how there are doubles of ponies from equestia in this world. He already met Principal Celestia.

"And that's everywhere in Canterlot High. Well, I still have to show you the cafeteria and since it's lunch, it's the perfect time to do so. There's also some people I want you to meet," Sunset said. Storm Feathers smile vanished for a second. He knows he should be happy for Sunset. Happy that she finally came out of her shell, but he felt jealous of them. Jealous that they hung out with Sunset while he was looking for her for a long time. Storm Feathers hid his feelings and tried to keep smiling.

"Can't wait to meet them!" Storm Feathers exclaimed. He resisted the urge to facepalm. That sounded so fake. Sunset Shimmer looked at him worriedly.

"You don't have to meet them if you don't want to. I get that moving to someplace new is a little overwhelming," Sunset said. 'Well for me it was very overwhelming. I mean, I went to another world,' Sunset thought.

"Nah. It's fine. I need more friends anyways," Storm Feathers replied. Sunset looked at him suspiciously before nodding. Both of them stood outside the cafeteria doors. Sunset smiled warmly at him one more time before opening the door for Storm Feathers to walk in. The smile caused him to blush a little. 'Why does she have such a cute smile?' Strom Feathers asked himself. Once they were both inside the cafeteria, a pink blur passed by him and hugged Sunset.

"Sunset Shimmer! Your okay! We were so worried because you weren't in any of your classes and thought that a magical monster kidnapped you! And-"

"Pinkie! Can't breathe!" Sunset gasped.

"OH! Sorry," Pinkie apologized. Sunset coughed and tried to catch her breath.

"Don't worry Pinkie. I was just showing the new student around the school," Sunset said to calm down her friend. Or as calm as Pinkie can be anyways.

"New student?" Pinkie asked as she turned towards me, "OMG your the new student! I my names Pinkie Pie! What's your name? Where did you come from? Do you like it here so far? What do you-" Pinkie's questions stopped when Sunset covered Pinkie's mouth with her hand.

"Why don't we sit with the others first, so we all introduce ourselves," Sunset said. Pinkie nodded and Sunset removed her hand from Pinkie's mouth. We all headed towards the lunch table.

"Hey SunShim! Who's he?" The rainbow haired girl asked.

"He's a new student here in Canterlot. I showed him around the school already," Sunset answered.

"Oh cool! I'm Rainbow Dash, the captain of all the sports teams here. Beside me is Rarity, the shy one next her is Fluttershy, then Applejack, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Trixie, and finally, Wallflower Blush. You already met Sunset Shimmer."

"Well it's nice to meet all of you lovely ladies," Storm Feathers said. Some of the girls blushed while the others rolled their eyes.

"Flirt," Sunset said playfully punching his arm. Storm Feathers looked at her with a fly grin.

"Jealous?" Storm Feathers said teasingly. That caused Sunset to blush a bit which was noticed by all her friends.

"You wish. What's there to be jealous of?" Sunset said. Storm Feathers put his hands to his chest and gasped.

"Sunset Shimmer! You wound me and my pride!" He said dramatically. Sunset rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest.

"Good. Your pride is too big anyways," Sunset said. They both laughed which caused smiles to come on the other girls faces. That's when Applejack decided to ask a question.

"So where are ya from...uh, we never did ask for your name huh?" Applejack said.

"No you didn't, but that's fine. My name is Storm Feathers," he said proudly. Everyone's eyes widened and their jaw dropped as they looked at him then at Sunset. Their expressions were confused and worried.

"Wait, hold on," Pinkie said grabbing a glass of water out of nowhere. She started to drink the water only to spit it out. Sunset Shimmer facepalmed. Yeah...this was going to be a long day.
