Now on to the important stuff, this book takes place after the first episode of season 4 and will fallow the season to a point (not really its going to be cooler). I also want to throw out a shout out to my friend who along time ago helped me write this, I can't for the life of me remember her user name because she changes it more then you would know, we are just going to go with what I have always know her by, Clover123. Prologue: Return of the Banished Prologue: The return of the banished Celestia sat upon her throne a large bag of mail laid to the side filled to the brim with letters, most of them from nobles requesting something or other from the princess. The other letters were from the lower class ponies, most of those letters were thank you notes or letters praising her. Sometimes she would get the weird love letter from unnamed ponies but, being shown as the regal princess the media has presented over her many years of rule it was expected. Celestia over the many years have gotten used to spotting and disposing of them but sometime they would slip past into the pile of 'the need to read letters'. This was one such case as she disposed of the letter in a small burst of fire and disposing of the ash in the trash with her magic. She picked up more letters reading each one thoughtfully and fully, that is until she got to the last one in the small pile she removed from the over drugged bag, scoffing as she read it. Another letter, from the noble Greedy Needy, requesting an audience with me for more land, she thought, how many times am I going to have to tell him that I can’t give up any more land until the environmental council says what can be given and what needs to be kept. She forced herself to put the letter down in the reply pile instead of burning it. She remembered a time where if she or Luna said something it was law, and if anyone disagrees well that’s why we had dung… Celestia was thrown out of her thoughts when a puff of green fire flew in front of her, forming a neatly rolled up scroll. Right on time as always, Twilight Celestia thought taking the scroll in her magic and carefully opening it. She read through the friendship report laughing at some points and smiling at other. She read the addition at the end of the note smiling at the statement then thought to herself Twilight is still asking me if I am ok, I know that she cares, but It has been a week since the Everfree forest kidnapped me and luna. Celestia rolled back up the scroll placing in a pile of its own, the smile still on her face as she went back to the large bag of letters. Before the smile could be whipped away from the other letters a loud mysterious voice echoed in the room sounding as if it came from all directions. “Oh,my dear Celestia, you always did find the most simple things amusing, but I am not one to judge because now that I am free I too enjoy the simple things” the voice letting out a deep laugh at the end, And for the first time, in what Celestia could recall as a long time, the hairs on her neck stood on end. Her head darted around the room looking for the owner of the voice as the guards, that was to the far left and right sides of the room, moved in front of her. "Who are you? Show yourself", Celestia said, her smile turning into a grimace of frustration. The voice answered a few seconds after Celestia asked her questions "In all due time, Tia, in all due time” Celestia her eyes as big as plates from surprise. Her surprised gaze quickly turning to one of anger as she resided the urge to use the Canterlot voice but still yelled as she forcefully said “I will ask again, who are you and what is the meaning of THIS” The voice let out a small chuckle of amusement “find something amusing” Celestia asked her anger getting the better of her. “I must have hit a nerve for you to yell like this, but the explanation of what it is can wait, The final piece has fallen into place” The voice faded away with its last words before Celestia could ask what it meant the throne room doors burst open Luna rushing in the guards following suit. “I heard all The commotion from my room sister,” Luna said seriously “what is it that that is wrong” Celestia still keeping her guard up answered to Luna “there was a voice….” before Celestia could continue her mind kicked into action replaying The last thing The voice had said The final piece has fallen into place her mind and years of experience kick in, as she realized it was a trap. “What about this voice sister,” Luna asked throwing Celestia out of her racing thoughts “you aren't going mad ar…” Luna was cut off by Celestia grabbing her and pulling her towards the large throne room doors “We need to leave now,” Celestia said still pulling Luna “this was all a…” the sound of the large throne room doors slamming shut blocking the few guards that had yet to enter and cutting of Celestia as she said the last word of her sentence with a hint of distress “...trap” Luna and Celestia watched as a black wave of magic flooded over the door leaving only a slight shimmer in its clearing. They knew the spell well it was a sealing spell and if they were right, and they usually are, the spell was cast over every exit of the room. Before Luna or Celestia could speak the voice returned this time it had a very malice tone “you two are familiar with the game of chess correct” after receiving no answer from the two sisters he continued “you should know I played it with you many times my dear Tia, as for you Luna you were far too young to be taught. If you can recall, sister, the last thing I said to you that fateful day, it would have helped you stopped what is about to happen. But alas you never were a strong listener all those years ago, so I will say it again because that is what good brothers do” The room went black as if the light had disappeared from existence leaving only enough to see with, as a ring of black fire formed in the center of the throne room burning away the regale red carpet. The ring then formed a dark sphere that pushed out a wall of black magic at an alarming speed pushing away the unlucky guards, that stepped forward to stop it or were just standing near it, knocking them out instantly. As the flames died down a large alicorn with black a suit and red tie stepped out from the ring of dark fire. He stood tall, his fur as black as a starless night could be seen past the suit top. His short mane and tail were a regal blue but the way they moved, it was as if the hair itself was fire. He stretched out his limbs a vicious smile on his face as he said “I do love the clothes of this century, and Tia, the last piece of advice I gave before I was imprisoned was, don't get your strongest pieces in situations they can't get out of sacrifice the pawns if you have to, and might I say, dear Luna, that you brought a lot of pawns” The guards that had been watching the whole thing rushed forward at him, their weapons ready to strike. As the guard's wretch striking distance, the first attack was thrown only to be stopped by a black barrier, the barrier crackling with black lightning through the guard and his weapon back shocking him at the same time knocking him unconscious.The lightning that struck the guard start to branch off him moving from guard to guard knocking them out one by one. Luna watched in horror as the black lighting spread throughout the guards like wildfire. She looked to her sister, Celestia, who had an emotionless face though her eyes had revealed the fear she had, it was the same look she had seen when she had become nightmare moon. Silently she feeds magic to her horn forming two magic short swords behind her using her large stature to block them from view. When Luna had been turned back from nightmare moon her knowledge that she had gain being her one of which was creating weapons from pure magic. It made the weapon more deadly than it already was it also gave a major advantage to the person wielding when fight alicorns, even though alicorns could be hurt by normal means it took powerful magic to do any long-lasting damage. Which is why when alicorns fought they used concentrated magic in the form of weapons. Celestia watched as the guards in front of her fall as the lighting zipped through them, her anger grew and was only held back was her curiosity on who the alicorn was. She had her suspicions and if they were right, not only was Equestria was in danger but the whole world was. It was also her rational mind that had kept her from really making a bad decision, Luna on the other hand….. not so much Without warning, Luna shot forward with her swords raised in attack position, but no matter how fast she moved, the lighting that had taken out all of the guards hit their marks as Luna fell to the throne room floor. Luna’s sword sliding into a stop in front of the dark alicorn. As the dark alicorn watched Luna he knew that the spell wouldn't last long against her and thought the situation is deteriorating faster than predicted, better to take my leave before Celestia does something she and I regret. “It seems that the situation is slowly spiraling out of my control,” said the dark alicorn “I believe this is the best time to take my leave”. The dark alicorn powered his horn with a teleportation spell. Fire shot up in a circle around him and in a flash he and the black fire were gone, leaving on the burnt rung, scorched floor and his last lingering statement he shouted to Celestia over the spell. “I have left you a gift in your room Tia do with it what you want, but a word of warning, if you open it be sure that your pieces don't stray too far out of line or I will have to remove them from the board” he let out a chuckle “and we wouldn't want that”

Chapter one: Weapons, Wars, and...Siblings? Chapter one: Weapons, War, and…Siblings? Canterlot Castle 2 days after attack Celestia walked down the hall with Twilight, and Luna, making their way to the castle's war room to discuss the new threat. It had been two days since the mysterious alicorn attacked Canterlot castle, luckily no one was hurt physically. Luna and her guards pride were knocked down a level by the attacker, but they would live. In response the attack Celestia sent out letters to the alicorn hierarchy, Shining armor, and Discord to meet at the castle for an emergency meeting. The three alicorns reach the end of the long hallway stopping in front of a wide, iron, and wooden double door. Celestia reach out her magic and opened up the door revealing the small war room they were entering. A large circle table sat in the middle of the room a large magic lamp hung above the table. Thirteen seats placed around the table with small gold head plates that showed the names of each poney. The alicorns could only guess at the amount of chaos that was happening before they opened the door, papers laid strayed on the ground and the table, ponies that must have been rushing around sharing information between each other, on what had happened two days prior, were now frozen to the spot at the sight of their rulers. As the three alicorns entered the room it fell into a silent mess of shuffling hooves and the stacking of paperwork as poneys moved to there respective places. Luna, Celestia, and twilight walked to the back of the room taking the three large seats at the ‘head’ of the table next to Captain Shining Armor and Cadance who had arrived only a few minutes earlier. Celestia looked to Shining Armor asking “is everyone that needs to be here present and accounted for?” Shining who was sitting to the left of Cadence replied in a militaristic fashion “all are accounted for except Discord, your majesty” Celestia not surprised by this statement signaled for Shining Armor to continue. Shining Armor now receiving the go ahead stood up and began to talk “As of now the briefing has started anyone without the proper clearance is to leave now and is to wait in the hall for further instructions” Shining stop for a brief minute as the ponies that didn't have the proper clearance left the room leaving only seven ponies left in the room himself, Luna, Celestia, Twilight, Cadence, General Lance of the EAF (equestrian armed forces), and Picard head of foreign affairs. Looking around the room to make sure that all the pony in the room had clearance Shining begin to speak “all information now shared in this room is deemed above classified and if shared to anyone, without proper clearance, is subject to banishment or death without trial” Suddenly in a bright flash of light discord appeared in the empty seat next to Picard his face dead serious as he spoke “oh bla bla, I showed up to this meeting late so I could skip all this formal stuff, I just want to know why I could get through his spell barrier! Alicorn magic is not that strong. He look to celestia “what did you do?, what are you hiding?!” Celestia looked down in shame as she began to answer Discords question “Discord the reason that the alicorn was so strong is because he is using a combination of Draconequus and Alicorn magic” Discord floated up in a instant anger showing in his voice as he responded “impossible there hasn't been an alicorn that could use Draconequus magic since the war, and even then it was rare” “He is right sister” Luna said “ I might have been young but is still remember some of the war, all the alicorn that use Draconequus magic have died, it has gone completely extinct” Celestia shook her head again as if trying to shake away a bad memory “you don't understand he wasn't born an with the power we’d given it, built it, he was a weapon” Celestia's face had a scale of rage as she spoke “ the alicorns were desperate at the end of the war and the final plan ,we created a monster, to fight back against your kind” It was silent for a second before twilight broke the silence “I hate to ask Celestia but what are you talking about?” "There is a is a story that you must know before we tell you what you are up against." "The story dates back 2556 years when I was just a filly and the war between the Draconequus and alicorns was nearing its end” *flashback* “It was 500 years before the wars end when a alicorn filly, by the name of Akmar ,was born that had great power, his magic was greater than any alicorn we had even in his infant age. So the alicorn council made a great risk” Celestia took a deep breath before she started to speak again “we replaced all the blood of the filly with that of a Draconequus hoping it would allow and make him stronger in the art of magic. It was something that was never done before because of the dangers but the council was desperate for a turn in the war, and it worked the alicorn filly was given a boat in his magic, it made his alicorn magic go to a level that was never thought possible why he was given full control over his Draconequus side¨ Celestia looked around at the gasps that came from the ponies around the room and continued “mine and luna’s father was a user of Draconequus magic and our mother a very strong user of the alicorn magic had ‘adopted’ the filly so that they could train him in the ways of using magic so that he could end the war” Celestia put on a happy as she continied talking “he was a very kind pony, like a brother, he tough me somany thing in the field of magic that our parents or even Star Swirl wouldn't teach me. Everything was going great and to their plan, his powers grew and grew until it seemed like he could actual stop this war that we were fighting.” taking a breath she continued “then one day he went mad, I don't know what caused it. I have my theories one of them being that he found out what we had done to him or that he may have just went mad with power and wanted to control everything.” Discord scoffed at what was being said and thrown in his own thoughts into the conversation “For one I am not surprised that he turned on you, from what I observed in the short time that your rase had been around when I was young, you were a rase of proud, arrogant, and foolhardy poney who valued themself over everything. If he did find the truth of just being some lab rat pawn in the scale of larger things I would to lash out against my creators” the last part of Discords speech came off as a little more harsh then it should have but no one seemed to notice or care if they did. Twilight who had been listening intently the whole time look to Celestia and luna “well that answers who and what he is and why he is so strong but, how is he back and what happened to him for him to be banished?” Everyone that sat at the table nodded to Twilights question and looked to Celestia for the answer. She sighed and began to speak right where she left off before Discords interruption “It was in the last year of the war when Akmar decided that it was time to rebel against us. It started as talks with my parents about what he was and how he was to stop the war with the Draconequus, then those talks turned into arguments, horrible arguments after a month somthing final snapped in him, one day after one of my a long day of training with my father, I sat in my room playing a game of chess with Akmar like our usual nightly ritual when, in the middle of our game he stood up and said that he had to excuse himself and that he would be back soon, with me Being as young as I was back then I pouted but, the educate lessons that our mother gave us kick in, and I apologize and let him go” Celestia licked her lips and shift in her seat as she continued “It was only a few hours after he left when swift wing, fathers best friend and trusted adviser came, into my room and told me something had happened to mother and father and that me and luna where now to be the hares to the throne and movers of the sun and the moon respectively, when we had the proper training and magic to do so. We were told that we would be moving castle due to the incedict that had taken place, as we grabbed the luna who was a baby filly at the time I asked if you would get Akmar too, swift wing only gave me a sad look as we flew from the castle that night and it was only two hundred years later that I would find out why. That night in the castle my brother confronted our parents, I was not there myself but from what swift swing told me it didn't stay as a talk for long, soon it was an argument, then it turned Violent. With the war and stress already taking it toll on my parents they could not fight back against him, so they used the last of what life force they had and cast a banishing spell so strong that it should have kept him banished longer but due to the state they were in they only had enough magic and life to trap him for two thousand years,and now that he is back we must not let there sacrifice to be in vain, we have to stop him” End Flashback Celestia finished tell the tale tears were silently streaming down her face as all the ponies in the room remained silent, Cadence placed a hoof on Celestia's shoulder “I am so sorry Auntie Celestia, I would have never wished this on you” Luna who had also moved to comfort Celestia nodded in agreement as she began to speak “the question is now, how are we going to stop him, and what does he want? While we could once weld the Elements of harmony against such foe that is no longer an option” the room was in silence thinking about the question. General lance broke the uneasy silence “ I believe that we should mobilize the Equestrian army now while we have have the chance and to calm the public if panic should start and spread” The sound of a hoof hitting the table sounded from Picard as he tried to gain the Generals attention “did I say something wrong Picard” the General questioned “Yes, we can't just go and mobilize our troops! Do you know the chaos that would ensue? How do you think the Griffin or the dragon territories will react to the mass building of an army from their neighbors, and then when they come over and ask us why we are doing this what are!? we going to reply because it can't be the truth, could you imagine that, oh why are we building up a massive army well it is to defend from an ancient evil that has been released from its 2000 year prison that is threatening Equestra, so don't worry it isn't to invade you, I can-” “That is enough Picard” luna said “we can see the point you make, I will also agree that massing an army would be a mistake considering the enemy that we are fighting” General Lancer slammed his hoof down on the table “we cant sit and do nothing as he tears the kingdom apart” Shining armor stood in defence shouting back at lance “I do not believe she said that we would do nothing and with all do respect General you should watch you tone when speaking to the princess’s” Luna pushed herself into the argument between the two stallions “the question to ask is not what to do but why he hasn't done anything to us yet, he has more than enough chances over the last to days?” “Stop it both of you, I expect more from the captain and my general” Celestia shouted at Shining Armor and General lance as they were giving each other dirty looks “we have more pressing issues then to be at each other throats” Celestia said while levitating a letter into the air “I don't know why he has not attacked us directly yet, maybe it is because the banishment weakened him and he needs to regain his power, what I do know is this” she held up the letter “This was the Gift that was left to me by Akmar or, as the letter states his new name Rahu, I am going to read it aloud and hope it may give us a glimpse into what we should expect” Celestia cleared her throat and began to read “To my dear sister Celestia……”
Chapter Two: Deals and Evil IntentionsView OnlineThe Fall of HarmonyChapter Two: Deals and Evil IntentionsChapter Two: Deals and Evil Intentions 5 days after Canterlot attack The black silhouette of a black alicorn flew over the borders of the badlands looking to the ground as if watching for some unknown by all others that happen to look towards the badlands at night. He turned to the left slowly scanning the dark Horizon until he found the silhouette of a small pony walking towards him. final thought Rahu I have found one of there patrol changing his direction he flew his way the figure. As he got closer however the figure seemed to slowly morph to the untrained eye it was noticeable but for Rahu, he expected to have to deal with this influence the moment he started to track down the changeling nest, the only thing that he was curious about was the form that they would take. As Raku got closer the form of the pony got clearer, it wasn't until he landed that he could see the pony that stood in front of him. The mare that stood in front of him was Luna in all her glory, although it was a younger her before she had stars in her mane. Rahu anger started to boil as it started to speak, “are you ok brother” it almost sounded concerned “I have been looking you, I started to worry, of-” the Changeling was cut off as Rahu through it to the ground with his magic. With one swift movement with his hooves a sickening crack filled the air as Rahu stomped on its wing tearing it from its body “listen carefully bug” he said through his teeth trying to hold back on his anger “you are going do exactly as I say or-” Rahu slid his hoof over the Changelings head putting a small amount of force behind it “-that wing won't be the only thing that is broken” his head now level with that of the fake Luna “do you understand?” There was a moment of silence before Rahu got a whimper from the Changeling. Rahu Let his magic seep away from the Changeling and released it from his grip, “I will take that as a yes” Rahu said helping the Changeling up forcefully not as if not caring if it was ok “you can start by getting rid of this unwanted form that you have taken, before I kill you out of anger for taking it” The Changeling did as it was told, letting the form of Luna dissipate as it took back its original form of a Changeling. “Good” replied Rahu “now you are going to take me to your queen, I have a proposition for her that she can't say no to”. The Changeling sat hesitantly to move thinking on whether it would be a good idea to being such a dangerous pony back to the nest, it wasn't until the large figure of the Alicorn stood before him it wings spread and it horn alight, somehow casting a shadow over him in the dead of night, did he final start walking further into the wasteland beckoning for the unknown pony to follow. 30 minutes later It took thirty minutes to reach the nest by hoof and to get an audience with the queen but with the deal that Rahu was going to make with her, it was all worth the wait. Rahu was lead into a large room by two changeling guards only for them to split off, at the of what seemed to be the center of the room, and taking a guarding position and motioning for him to continue on. He continued to walk forward stopping in front of what looked like a mock version of Celestia throne, where Queen Chrysalis sat positioned so that she could look down on all those she would talk to. Ruha did a swift almost sarcastic bow before speaking “ah, Queen Chrysalis, what an honor it is to be in the presence” Chrysalis look down on the alicorn in front of her and scoffed, “Stop with the lies, Prince Ruha, if you had respect for me or my subjects you wouldn't have injured one of them trying to get to me” she shifted her position on her throne so that she could eye him down fully. Ruha looked surprised at the fact that Chrysalis knew his name and rank “how do you know who I am, last that I checked I was forgotten to this world and its inhabitants” he asked trying to keep the surprise of his voice. “Your attack and threats on Canterlot have been circulating throughout the land, along with your name and face. The Equestrian army has also placed a 100,000-bit bounty on your capture, they have been putting up wanted posters on every corner of the Equestrian territory. As for how I knew you were a prince, only royalty in Equestrian society are alicorns, even if they were banished. Now tell me why you are here and why I should not kill or imprison you myself” A smirk spread across Ruha face as he began to speak “I have come to make a deal with you, that benefits both of us, and one that you will find every enticing” Chrysalis laughed at his response “what could you offer us that we can not already do, we have no such intentions to attack the crown city like we did before, not with the new alicorn that they have in the castle, we can not lose what we lost again in that battle. My hive is too weak for that, as much as it pains me to say that. Ruha responded to the question “ah, yes the crown city of Equestria, Canterlot. what a fine city to take, only to lose to six teenage girls, two lovestruck ponies, and a downed princess that you captured” Ruha faced away from Chrysalis letting the magic flow to his horn then projecting it out into the from of Canterlot castle (like Celestia did with the Crystal Empire) “this is Canterlot Castle as it stands now, due to my attack only five days ago they have tripled the guard, Celestia has also called Shining Armor, back to the castle, to have him rase his shield around the capitol. This means that there is a chance that Princess Mi Amore Cadenza is also with him, so Canterlot has more guards, the shield, and all four of the alicorn princess in one location” Ruha looked at questionably at Chrysalis a smug look slowly spreading over the quizzical one. “Do you know what this means” Chrysalis looked at him with an annoyed expression on her face as she spoke through somewhat clenched teeth “if you are thinking that they cannot keep the defense going forever and you will be able to take them then heed my warning. soon enough they will stop you just like they stopped all of the others that have attacked Canterlot, and that is speaking from experience” The changeling queen let out a small sigh then continued to speak “but if you have a plan that is so good I will hear it, all I ask how this will help my hive?” Ruha smiled and turned away from Chrysalis recasting the simple spell that he had cast moments ago this time it took the form of the Crystal Empire “Have you ever heard of the Crystal Empire” he asked “Yes I have, but what does that have to do with anything with the present predicament” answered Chrysalis Ruha Smiled then Continued “well let us think about it from a strategic stance, Celestia in all her panic to call everyone to the capital to help plan, has left holes in her defense, holes that we will use that to our advantage. If we can not get into the castle we will just have to get them to come to us, even if it is only one of four alicorns that comes, it will still weaken them enough for me to do what I must.” Chrysalis waved her hoof in an annoyed rushing manoir as if to say get on with it. Ruha kept look at the projection of the Crystal Empire as he spoke “think about Chrysalism, they have left the city powered by LOVE almost completely undefended, left able to be easily taken, the Crystal Empires military will be in complete shambles without there pretty little rulers telling them what to do from their thrones, I don't think that I need to explain what you get out of this, but I do need to explain what I need you to do because it is very important that you do it to the letter” “I am starting to realize what we are going to do, but Please do continue,” Chrysalis said as she smiled a devil's grin Ruha's projection of the city zoomed in on the bottom of the castle to show the crystal heart and its pedestal “first thing first, the Crystal heart must be removed from the equation, then we can start on phase two….”
Chapter 3: the Journey to a Broken MindView OnlineThe Fall of HarmonyChapter 3: the Journey to a Broken MindChapter 3: Journey to a broken mind 5 days after the attack Celestia entered her personal study taking a seat at the desk in the room and let a long sigh escape from her lips. It had been a long four days for her, Luna, Cadence, and Twilight, ever since the attack on the castle by Ruha and the increase in defense it has been harder to keep the calm with the close population. It also doesn't help that there have been no sightings of Ruha anywhere within the Equestrian territory. As Celestia thought of this she slowly allowed the magic of the sun escape from her body letting the stress of the day seep out along with it. She only let a small amount of magic leave her through just enough for her everflowing rainbow mane deflate and turn into a light pink color. As this change happened the sun princess laid her head on her desk and let out a long sigh as she stared at a very old look journal that sat in front of her face. She examined the journal that laid on her desk, Celestia knew that the journal was old, older than her by at least a hundred years but she didn't know exactly. The journal itself was made from the hide of a dragon, which made the book itself hard to destroy or damage without the uncounted layers of enchantments that have been placed on it by the owner when they had possession of the old book. The last thing that could be seen on the outside of the book was a line symbol, most would think it was a dead or non-existent language, but Celestia knew what they really were. The symbols on the book where those of the ancient alicorn alphabet and the big letters on this tinny book, laying on Celestia spelled out AKMAR. Celestia knew to most ponies that this was a weird name even for an alicorn but it was a normal name in the society that the alicorns once had, an alicorn society it had the meaning of being touched by the moon, a fitting name for one who had been born under the light of full moon or funny and cliche to those who really thought about it. Celestia and Luna changed their names once they joined the ponies of the old days when they were first forming Equestria. She once went by the name Celestial Radiance while Luna went by Lunar Expanse. Celestia shook her head clearing out the old memories they were not important right now, what was important was sitting in front of her it wasn't here when she had left the room this morning mean that ‘Ruha’ had been here and he left a parting gift for her, again. She looked around her desk looking to see if he had left anything else that she should see, luck was with her as she saw a letter that was addressed to her and Luna though it used there old names which were peculiar. Celestia took the letter in her magic and carefully opened it and begin to read it to herself Dear Celestial Radiance and Lunar Expanse, I hope that this letter and book find you in good health for I fear that if I kept them then they would not survive what I am going to do. It is too late for anyone to convince me not to do this and I look for no pity or forgiveness for what I do, but if you are reading this letter that means my plan failed and my contingency plan is in effect. I am going to need your help as crazy as that may seem, From what I have been able to guess and work out for myself is that if I fail mother and father will banish me for how long I can only guess but two thousand years is the best guess I can put out. Due to the war and the stress on them, it is the best guess. If I create and I fear that I am, that means that the darkness that has taken my mind and calls itself Ruha has spent two thousand years trapped with only himself and he has most likely gone mad, far madder than we already are. I ask that you kill us, show no mercy for we will not, don’t try to solve this like mother or father there is no hope for me I am lost to the shadow of the stallion I once was. One last thing for I end this letter, I have sent my journal to you so that you know why I am doing what I am doing so that you can see the pain that was given to me in the life that they made me live through. It is so you can see why I had to do what I did to the acorns and why I will not stop until the job is done. Remember even now as you read this the mad mind that is in my body will seek no mercy, love, or forgiveness. With all my love, You brother Akmar, Dated 9999 year UAR (under alicorn rule) Celestia placed down the letter on her desk doing her best not to let the silent tears rolling down her face land on the paper. She let herself calm down over the course of a few minutes before she took a small scroll and placed it on her desk. Celestia dipped her quill in the ink jar next to her and wrote a small message, letting it dry before she rolled it and sent it off a blue hit took over the normal green as it travels out of the window and toward throne room of the castle. Celestia waited for patiently after this and she didn't have to wait long as soon after a loud knock sounded through the room “you can enter Luna” Celestia said trying to keep the sadness out of her voice. Luna opened the door and walked in the room with a pace that would have the Wonderbolts red with envy, “what is the problem sister” Luna asked “I came as quick as I could after I received your note” “It is nothing to panic over luna” Celestia replied, “but it is very important that you read this letter” she held the letter in her magic passing it into Luna magic so that she could read it. Luna took the note in her magic and put up to her face os that she could read the letter that had been addressed to her and her sister. It didn't take Luna too long to read the short letter, like Celestia she had to learn to speed read so that she could do thing more quickly and efficiently, but as she finished the note her reading seemed to slow down as she realized what the letter was saying and who it was from. Luna looked to Celestia then back at the letter and the journal that had been placed on the desk and asked “Is the contests of this letter truly written by him sister is is this a trick set up by Ruha” Celestia took the journal in her magic and opened it to the first page while answering “I do not know Luna but if this letter is true then we have a way to answer all of the questions and more right here in this book, we can finally find solid answers on what made our dear brother go mad” Luna let out a small sigh “while that is true sister we don't know if we can trust this book with all the answers that we seek, we would have to take it with a grain of salt as they say these days” Celestia nodded in agreement opening the book “of course sister but this a chance that we can not pass up, so let us read the first entry and judge from there” Celestia took a long breath then began to read from the first journal entry. First journal entry 23 of fall 9443 UAR Owner Ackmar I had nightmares again about something that had happened to me when I was a baby, mother and father seemed not to worry and calmed me down before they put me to sleep again. Then this morning mother came to me with this book and said that it might help to keep my thoughts in this book, she even enchanted it to never run out of pages so I don't have to worry about running out of the room when I grow older and continue to write. I just hope that mother is right and that writing in this book will help ease the nightmare that I am having, when I ask all of my friends if they have any they all say not as much as me and they aren't as graphic ether, sometimes I wonder if I am normal. Celestia finished reading “shall we continue sister” Luna sat next to Celestia so that she could read the page to herself so that Celestia didn't have to read out loud and answered “yes let us” Celestia flipped the page then her and luna read to themselves second entry 24 of fall 9443 UAR I had a nightmare again last night this one was just as bad as the others, I was in a room everything was blurry and I couldn't really hear anything. I was surrounded by what I think would be alicorns they were doing something to my body, it was like they were putting something on me then would come the pain. The horrible pain it could last even after I woke up from the nightmare, it was like my blood itself was burning me. It hurt so much that mother and father said that was screaming in my sleep. After mother came to comfort me I cried until I fell asleep next to her, I don't want a dream like that again. I just want to be able to sleep without waking up in pain or crying. As soon as Luna finish reading she looked to Celestia “how old was Ackar when he wrote in this journal” Celestia looked up in thought “let me think, I believe that Ackmar was banished in the nine-thousandth nine-hundred and ninety-ninth year of the alicorn rule, he was born in 9433 and these are dated 9443, so he is 10 years of age when he wrote these entries” Luna shook her head her face showing a displeased expression “such a young age to have nightmares, these could have put him down the road that he is on right now, but I do not know for sure” Celestia nodded in agreement to what Luna had said, she flipped the page and her and Luna read late into the night about the life of an alicorn that was doomed to fail from the start

It wasn't that it was Celestia or luna that was running the empire, no he loved his dear sister more than anything in the world. He hated that it was the alicorn as a race had survived. he had tried to curse them with disease and death so that they would die off, but they were just too Stubborn to die, so now he had to kill them himself. He hated the fact that he would have to kill his own sisters to finally give the world peace, but it was the only way for his race to atone for crimes they committed to the peace of the world around them, they had to die, himself included and he was willing to make that sacrifice. this was also about his revenge, the alicorn race would pay in the blood for what they did to him, his destiny stripped from him as if were nothing, the nightmares, and pain that they gave to him when they replaced his blood with that of a draconequus, yes it gave him magic power beyond what anypony could have dreamed of but it came with price. A price that his past self Ackmar final gave into and let the darkness take hold of him, it did little to soothe the pain that he had. It felt as if the blood in his body was boiling at all times, it burned him constantly reminding him day and night what he was and why he was created. Ruha shook his head, the past pain was not worth remembering not when his goal was so close to being achieved, he was about to start the greatest war Equestria has seen in over a thousand years, and funny enough it would be the last war that this empire would ever see, if everything went according to plan. It was funny that he always knew that this day would come, even if he never understood why ever since he went to go see that nice little Zebra Oracle over two thousand years ago and had received a prediction like no other she had seen. The past, present, and future alike For you, my friend are in a grueling fight In the sand of time your fate unclear But an attack is certain that, you must fear A group of four with power overall Meet with them, you will, at the end of all The last to rise Is first to fall Followed second by the strongest of all After this, the future is darkened Remember revenge is strong Please my prince Don't let your demons lead you wrong When he received this prediction all those years ago that he was confused by what his destiny would be, but now that he is standing inside the great love barrier of the crystal Empire, it all seemed clear. this was the battle that he is to rise and cause Celestia to fall along with all she loves. A Changeling general approached Ruha throwing him out of thought “what do you need?” Ruha asked annoyed that he was being bothered on such a glorious day. “The spies have reported in, my lord” the general responded bowing as Ruha faced him “they reported that the local garrison has caught wind of our presence and are sending a detachment to chase us off” ‘They are more coordinated than I planned’ thought Ruha as he turned to face what would be the soon to be battlefield, and asked “what are the numbers general” The general shuffled at the glare that Ruha gave him before answering “the spies report them sending 2000 guardsmen armed with heavy armor and crystal tipped spears. They outnumber us four to one, we only stand at 500 Changeling knights and warriors” Ruha laughed aloud at what the general said, his eyes scanning the the field before him. It was large and open, the perfect place to start a war, there was no place for ambush or retreat for the losing side. “it is not numbers that win wars, while yes numbers are important” Ruha spoke ”it is how you use your soldiers that matters, no lives wasted on anything that is not the goal, now leave me, I will find you when the time is right to strike” the Changeling bowed to Ruha then walked away to rejoin the army and prepare for the assault leaving Ruha to his thoughts. Ruha closed his eyes as he sat down letting a worn wind that had just blown in the move over his wings as he stretched them, letting the wind flow ever his feathers trying to plan for the battle ahead. It would be hard fought and will make a great distraction for what he must do. Taking a deep breath Ruha let his wing fall to his sides, the air smelled sweet almost like a honey cone in the early spring, today is a perfect day for a battle. The sound of hoof falls brought Ruha out of his thoughts for the second time today, opening his eyes and standing up he faced the pony that had came to talk with him. It was the general again this time followed by Queen Chrysalis, the general stopped an bowed to Ruha before speaking “I am sorry about the interruption, my lord, the crystal army is approaching us, sir, they have formed rank and look to charge at any moment” Ruha looked to chrysalis “I believe it is time to enact the first part of phase one, wouldn't you agree chrysalis, General form rank, and attack when the signal is given” The general bowed to Ruha and Chrysalis before running off to prepare the soldiers for future battle. Chrysalis walked closer looking to the same battlefield that Ruha had been staring at before “are you sure that this plan will work, I have put my hives lifeline on you prince” Ruha looked up at the love barrier “once the spies remove the heart from power we will have the greater advantage, the chaos and panic it will cause will help us take the city even with our smaller numbers, just stick to the plan”. Looking down to the battlefield that, once had been empty was now full of changelings and pony both looking as if they were ready for a fight, all of them dawned armor and weapons held at ready.”it looks as though battle will be waged soon, I think it is time to shed the suit of these time for the armor of battle” Ruha let his horn glow as blue fire swept over his body in a sphere blocking him from view for only a moment disappearing into the nothing it came from as fast as it had come leaving behind a full armor Ruha looking like a war horse of old. Silver armor covered his body a wolf head engraved in the front of the armor, next to it was runes used to give the wearer extra protection some old and some that had been added over time, scratches that had been added over many battles could be seen on the armor even though it gleamed as it had just been made. His legs were also covered with the silver armor but these looked as though they had been through Tartarus, dents and scratches lined the armor taking way the gleam it must have held many battles ago. No runes covered this armor but the thickness of it more than made up for the loss of magic runes. The helmet he wore covered most of his face, even covering his muzzle from attack, runes covered it in an enchanting glow, his eyes, that were now shaped like a dragons, were visible through the helmet. Lastly, there was the long sword that was hanging off his back in its sheath, the sword itself was massive, it was 40 inches long and while Chrysalis couldn't see the blade she could feel the power it gave off even from its sheath. A laugh came from Ruha as he drew the sword from its sheath feeling the strength that it gave him to once again hold his trusted blade, raising it to the air with his magic, he scanned the blade with his eyes. This blade that had no equal in the mortal world, forged of pure steel in the legendary forge in the long-lost homeland of the alicorns, runes that were carved down the center of the steel blade seemed to radiate magic as Ruha closed his eyes and began to speak “I pray to the gods of old, bollans the God of war and Honos the God of justice, may the silver wolf once more hunt the battlefield, free of sin and curse, and to show justice to those who have strayed from the path of Honor and valor. I pray that you take them into your land with open arms, forgive them for forgetting our ways and straying from the path of justice in the fear of death” As Ruha finished speaking the magic in the blade slowly flowed into his armor causing the runes in the suit to glow for a moment and then faded away and disappear completely, sighing Ruha sheathed the blade and turned to Chrysalis. “it has been a long time scene I have held that blade, it was made by a smith that went by White-Rose it was the only blade that she made that was to be used, she never let anyone touch her work. Even I almost didn't get to take this one, but I was special, she even named it for me before I left, the blade of eternal justice. I hated the name but I could never change, it not scence the battle of the dragon valley” Ruha shook himself out of his thought “ there is no point to think about the past we have a war to win and alicorns to kill” he turned away from Chrysalis spreading his wing so that he could take flight “it is time for phase one to start, I will see you in the city” With that Ruha gave his wing a flap and took off into the sky. Chrysalis smiled as her eyes flashed a bright green signaling the attack, she looked up staring at the barrier that stood between them and the raging storm outside, she watched as a crack appeared, then another and another until the barrier shattered like glass. The warm like air was swept away as the winter storm pushed itself through as if it was making up for lost time, snow-covered very thing as it came down the clumps. You could easily lose the pony in front of you if you weren't careful, but that didn't matter. Due to the loss of the love barrier the crystal ponies were weak to attack, it was time “attack my hive” Chrysalis shouted over the raging storm “defeat them and the city shall be ours” and with those words, war was declared, the battle started. Canterlot castle 1 minute after the start of the the battle The last two weeks for the Canterlot staff have been ones of hardship, with the threat of attack at any moment, the castle was in lockdown. While the sisters had told the public nothing of what was happening and reassured that nothing was wrong. Rumors had still spread about the appearance of a new threat due to the release of wanted posters, which the princess once told about this had tried to get all of them taken down and the guard that put them up given a stern talking too. Right now, however, was not the time for any of that no, right now was breakfast time the only time the four alicorns could come together without the weight of the world on their hooves. This is the time that they would relax just for a short time before getting on with there days. Sadly that is not how the morning would play out. It was in the middle of breakfast when the two Crystal guards and Cadence feel the ground in what looked like pain, Cadence being affected the most her head was spinning and she felt horrible it was if some had ripped her open from the inside out. The crystal guards felt no better as the crystalline gleam that they carried slow faded from existence In a mad panic to see what had happened the other three alicorns rushed to Cadences side with was enough time for Cadence to realize what had happened. With what little strength she had left Cadence looked to Celestia “the crystal heart has been stolen” then the world faded to black.
