You looked around at your other squad members, most of them looking impatient. “Come on! What the hell is taking so long?” Finally, someone decided to speak up. You instantly recognize the voice. You look over at the bright yellow mare sitting across from you. She had always been the impatient type. You know this well enough, having been with her for the past two years. “Calm down a bit, Stardust.” You reply. “I’m sure the have a perfectly good reason for making us wait this long.” “Nah man, I’m with her.” You look over at the Japanese man sitting next to you. His name was Randal, and you two had known each other since middle school. “I’m supposed to be at my son’s fifth birthday right now.” “Everyone just calm down a little.” You look over at the gruff voiced stallion. His dark red coat never ceases to amaze. “It’ll all be fine. We just need to wait until they tell us what is going on.” “Easy for you to say, Powder.” Says Stardust. “It’s not like you and your lover are supposed to be on a date and you both got called into work.” “Stardust, there’s no need to be like that.” I promise that after this is over, we can get on with our date.” You look back to her, giving her a little smile. “Fine, sweetheart.” She sighs a little before looking back up at you and giving you a smile. “Hey Dean, why do you think they called us in? This was supposed to be our week of.” Randal asked, obviously a bit worried. “You think it something really dangerous? I don’t want to be hurt on my son’s birthday, man.” You attempt to reassure your panicking friend. “I’m sure it’s nothing too bad. Probably just another raid on a drug house.” “Alright man. I’m just kinda worried that I won’t come back to my son every time something happens.” You flash him a quick smile as you hear the door to the room open. Everyone’s head quickly turns to see a large Hispanic man and a small green unicorn walk into the room. “Hello you four. It has been quite a while.” The man spoke in a heavy Spanish accent. “Why are we here, Carlos? This was supposed to be our week off of work, and Bieber we’re being called in?” “Calm down Randal, and I’ll explain the situation.” The bright green unicorn pulls a small remote out of the bag at her side. She’s used her magic on it, causing the projector to whir to life, a picture of an old, boarded up house flashing onto the canvas. “As you all know, about seven years ago, there was a large strong of murders dubbed the Blackwater Killings, after the man who committed them all, Laurence Blackwater.” “Yeah. Didn’t he have like thirty-seven confirmed kills?” Said Powder Keg. “Yes he did. And as you all likely know, he was arrested and on the day of his court hearing, he was able to overpower his guard, kill him and escape. We had been unable to locate him until a few days ago, when we intercepted a phone call from him to his old accomplice.” “So you’re going to send us after him?” You look up, feeling a bit worried about the job now. “Yeah. We hadn’t already sent in a S.W.A.T team to get the man, but we haven’t heard back from the man in thirty hours or so. We fear the worst right now.” “No no no! Not today! My son’s birthday is today and you’re sending us off after some psychopath who wants to kill us? What the fuck man!” You look over at Randal. The pressure was quite obviously getting to him now. “It’s alright, man. We’ll get in there and take this fucker out. No bullshit. We’ll be back in a couple hours.” You put your hand on his shoulder, attempting to comfort him even if just a little. “Yeah, yeah you’re right, dude. I’m sorry I flipped out. I’m just worried about what will happen to my family if something goes wrong.” “Don’t worry. We won’t let him do anything to anyone else. We’ll get this fucker for what he did. I can promise you.” “Now fin you twin are done sharing your tender moment, I’d like to get into the full mission.” “R-right.” You stammer, a bit embarrassed by the whole situation. “Now, you orders are shoot to kill. If you see the man, unload everything you have into him. We aren’t taking any chances. The mission area is the Blackwater Residence, an old abandoned swamp house last owned by giant parents about fifteen years ago. The house is two floors with an attic and a basement. The basement is of unknown size, depth, and layout, so you’ll always have to be on your guard if you go down there.” “So, we’re basically going into a maze arbor this point?” You look over at Stardust. She appears a little shaky. “That is highly likely. You four will be going in with the standard gear, except for hand grenades. We have no idea how structurally secure the whole building is, so it’d be too risky to use them anywhere.” “Got it.” Powder Keg spoke up, one of the He first times the whole meeting. “Any questions?” He looked around the room, none of the others nodded. “Good.” He picked up all of his items from the table and walkedout of the room, followed closely behind by the unicorn assistant. There isn’t a loud click as the door closes as the hum of the projector slows down before eventually dieing out. To Be Continued In Chapter 1: Breach and Clear Your team isn’t flown to the mission sight by chopper. You clear the first two floors and the attic, before ending up in front of the door to the basement. You force your way in and find a strang, black, gelatinlike substance on the walls.
