Author's Note
Based off of the Courage the Cowardly Dog episode, Perfect.
Success
It was morning and Derpy woke up at her usual time, she had trouble walking due to her eye problems, she goes to the bathroom to get started with her day. Derpy uses the bathroom but she is not able to see the toilet properly and gets her urine all over the floor and walls, she groans in disappointment. Derpy tries to brush her teeth but she ends up getting the toothpaste all over her lips and nose, she chuckled a little after seeing herself in the mirror, she thought she looked funny, she cleans up the urine and then washes her hooves. Derpy goes to the kitchen and tries to make a muffin for breakfast, she ends up burning it, she then tries to carry it to the table, but she trips and drops the muffin on the floor, she ate it anyway, Derpy then tries to fill a glass with water, but has to try several times before she can get it, she drank and then felt awake, Derpy sighed and headed to the post office.
Derpy worked at the post office and was busy putting the names and addresses of the ponies on them, a male Pegasus flies over to her,
"Derpy!" he said angrily,
"Yes?" Derpy asked with a smile on her face,
"I don't know why you're smiling, you got the information wrong again!" the male Pegasus said angrily,
"I did?" Derpy asked in confusion,
"Yes! Open your eyes, you narrow-sighted Pegasus, you can't do anything right!" the male Pegasus replied angrily, Derpy's feelings were hurt from what he just said, she looks and has trouble seeing, but she sees that she got the address wrong,
"Do you know why I keep you here, Derpy?" the male Pegasus asked,
"Why?" Derpy asked,
"Because you're the only one who would take this job, nopony else wants this, it's boring to them, but if somepony comes here wishing for a job, I'm firing you immediately, you're the worst worker we ever had!" the male Pegasus replied, Derpy's feelings were really hurt, she was struggling to do the simplest things because of her eyesight, the male Pegasus then storms off in anger.
Derpy keeps working and nopony came in, she was smiling while she waited for somepony to appear, they did not.
Derpy's shift ends and she leaves the post office, her manager's words hit her hard in the head, she was starting to wonder is she really was the worst worker at the post office, she did not blame herself because she could not see properly, just getting around was hard for her, she walks around sadly while thinking about the words she was told.
Derpy wanders blindly and feels something rub against her left side, she looks and sees a capybara,
"Hi, are you new here?" Derpy asked with a smile, the capybara licked her and she chuckled,
"Isn't he the friendliest, Derpy?" she heard Fluttershy ask, Derpy has always gotten along with her, she was the second friend she made in her life, the two became quick friends shortly after Derpy moved into Ponyville,
"This is a capybara, they get along well with the other animals, even Angel Bunny has taken a liking to him." Fluttershy said, Derpy smiled,
"If you have the free time right now, Derpy, I actually have a task for you, see that house over there to your right, that's this fellow's home, I need you to paint it while I attend my other pets." Fluttershy said,
"Sure, anything for the second friend I made." Derpy replied, Fluttershy smiled and flew in and out of the house with paint cans,
"Good luck, Derpy." Fluttershy said as she flew away to attend to her other pets.
Derpy grabs the can of brown paint in her mouth and flies to the capybara's home, she paints with the paintbrush in the can that Fluttershy has left, she tries her best to paint a pattern, she paints muffins all over the house, while it looked like muffins to her, it looked like a big spatter of paint to others, with the muffin being strangely shaped and going diagonal, she then paints the remaining areas blue, Derpy finishes and flies to the cans of paint, but she flies into them and spills the paint on the ground, shocking herself, she sees Fluttershy fly back to check,
"You okay, Derpy? Oh, that's not what I had in mind for painting his home." Fluttershy said, Derpy becomes sad,
"I'm sorry." Derpy replied,
"No, it's okay, look." Fluttershy said with a smile on her face and Derpy does, she sees the capybara walk into the home and rests,
"See, he likes it, just be a little more careful when you're moving around." Fluttershy said with a smile,
"What about the paint?" Derpy asked,
"It's okay, I'll clean it up, I've spilled it a few times before, too." Fluttershy replied, Derpy did not feel better,
"Well, that's all I needed done today, have a nice day, Derpy." Fluttershy said, and Derpy flew away while Fluttershy and her animals worked together to clean the paint that she spilled.
Derpy still felt bad about spilling the paint, she flew into a wooden sign and fell, she stands up and was ashamed that she could not fly right, she tried to have her eyes fixed years ago, but could not, and thus, had no choice but to abandon her dreams of becoming a Wonderbolt, it still saddened her to this day, she hears flying and sees Rainbow Dash flying around. Derpy had an idea and decided to try flying around to see if she can improve, but she could not see well, and tried to fly in a circle, but she ends up flying into Rainbow Dash, they both crash,
"What are you doing, Derpy?" Rainbow Dash asked annoyed,
"I was trying to improve my flying, I was originally going to be a Wonderbolt." Derpy replied,
"There is no way they'd accept you, you can't even see right." Rainbow Dash said, this hurt Derpy's feelings,
"Yes, I know, but I won the senior competitive circuit once." Derpy replied,
"Yeah, I remember that, but that was a long time ago, you lost all the time afterwards." Rainbow Dash said, Derpy's feelings were hurt again,
"I have to practice for the next Wonderbolts show now, try to stay out of the way." Rainbow Dash said and flew away, Derpy became sad and walked away.
Derpy walks around and does not see anything to do, so she decided to head home, Derpy decides to crack walnuts for her next muffins, she could not get it cracked open, she grunts with effort as she tries, the walnut flies out of the nutcracker and around the kitchen, it lands on the table and got stuck in it, she bites the walnut to take it out, it left a deep hole in the table, she tried again, but the nutcracker in her front hooves broke, she groaned in disappointment.
Derpy walks to the kitchen's door and was about to head out and buy a new nutcracker, she had enough bits to get one, but when she was about to walk out, a black unicorn walks in and it startles her, he had a red mane, a red tail, red eyes, and his cutie mark was a gold medal, he was holding a ruler with telekinesis, there was a red aura around his horn,
"You are a failure, it is time you opened your eyes to reality, and make you a better pony." the unicorn said, Derpy was too shocked to speak,
"I am known as The Teacher, my real name is none of your concern." the unicorn said, Derpy was still shocked,
"I didn't invite you into my home." Derpy said,
"I go where I am required, my job is to teach ponies how to do things right." The Teacher replied,
"You're... you're not real." Derpy said, The Teacher hits her in the flank with the ruler, this scared Derpy,
"Do you believe I'm not real now?" The Teacher asked, Derpy shook her head frantically,
"Good, now then, let's go outside." The Teacher said, and he and Derpy go outside.
The Teacher and Derpy head out and The Teacher points forward with the ruler, Derpy looks, The Teacher then uses magic to make a heavy stack of books appear on Derpy's back,
"Your first assignment is to fly straight, and keep the books on your back, if you can, you will succeed in flying, go!" The Teacher said, he hit Derpy's flank with the ruler and she flies, but she could not see and flew crookedly, all of the books fell as well, The Teacher teleports to in front of her and was glaring at her,
"What the? You don't even know how to fly right! You don't even have a bit of success in you!" The Teacher said angrily, Derpy was scared. The Teacher uses telekinesis to bring a book forward and turns to a page, he then turns Derpy's head to her left with his right front hoof,
"Read the paragraph out loud, and get every word right." The Teacher said, Derpy tries to read but could not make out the words completely, they were very small too,
"The uh... phoenix... rose... from... ashes... beautiful... sight... behold." Derpy said, The Teacher glared at her,
"You can't even read! You illiterate failure!" The Teacher said angrily as he hit her across her face with the ruler, Derpy shrieked from the pain,
"Fine, one more." and he makes toothpicks and glue appear, he gets another book that Derpy dropped and brings it to her, he opens to a page and shows her a picture of Canterlot Castle,
"Inspect every detail, and build it correctly, no shortcuts, and do it right." The Teacher said, Derpy could not see well and tried her best, she finishes and shows that she has built a muffin, she smiled at her craft, The Teacher smashed it with the ruler, he then grabs Derpy with telekinesis,
"Take a look at one of the works of a former pupil, a successful pupil." The Teacher said, and Derpy sees a full replica of it, Derpy looks and sees the former pupil, she laughs at Derpy,
"I'm a success, unlike those poor ponies of Ponyville and blank flanks." Spoiled Rich said, The Teacher then throws Derpy back,
"Tell me why, why are you having trouble?" The Teacher asked,
"Because I can't see properly, my eyes are crooked." Derpy replied,
"That's further proof you're a failure, a disgrace!" The Teacher said,
"But it happened on its own." Derpy replied,
"It is the universe giving you karmic retribution for the failures of your life." The Teacher said,
"But I won the first senior competitive circuit." Derpy said,
"That was just by luck, you only won because the other competitors were even bigger failures and idiots than you!" The Teacher replied, Derpy had tears in her eyes,
"Go on, cry, you stupid failure of a crybaby." The Teacher said,
"But... I was going to be a Wonderbolt if not for my eye problem." Derpy replied,
"Well, they had good luck, you were given that eye problem to spare them from your clumsiness and stupidity, and so that you would not shame their names with your abominable flying skills, the Wonderbolts is a place you do not belong, it is a title you do not deserve, that is why you're a mail carrier now, a fitting dead-end job for a failure of a pony!" The Teacher said, Derpy was almost broken,
"We will continue tomorrow, as for now, go to bed, and sleep the right way, and do not try to go see what the other residents of Ponyville are doing, sure, we see you a lot, but you're not important, so stop trying to be seen for attention, and let the Mane Six and the others get on with their days and stay away from them so you do not contaminate those successful ponies with a failure like you in their days!" The Teacher said and he hit Derpy in the flank with the ruler again, Derpy ran into her house crying and went to bed.
Derpy was tossing and twitching in her bed while trying to sleep and was having nightmares, she sees The Teacher in the dream again and he looks at her,
"You're a failure." The Teacher said, the last word echoed in the background, Derpy screams and wakes up, she looks around and sees no one, she falls back asleep and has her next dream.
Derpy was tasked by Princess Celestia to save Equestria from the combined forces of Queen Chrysalis and King Sombra, they have married and their two armies came together and invaded, but Derpy has failed and Equestria was destroyed, she failed because she did not have the elements of harmony, Queen Chrysalis and King Sombra laugh while Derpy walks away sadly.
Derpy screams again and wakes up, she looks around sees nopony, she falls back asleep and has her next nightmare.
Derpy was in Ponyville and Princess Celestia made everypony an alicorn except for her,
"Princess Celestia, what about me?" Derpy asked,
"You are unworthy of the alicorn title, you are a failure!" Princess Celestia replied, Derpy was sad,
"You can start by not failing in real life!" Princess Celestia said angrily and then changed into Daybreaker, Derpy screamed in her dream and was screaming in real life as well, Derpy was sweating and panting, she soon falls back asleep.
Derpy sees floating mirrors and there were seven of them, one of the Mane Six, and one of herself, Twilight Sparkle was Trixie, Rainbow Dash was Lightning Dust, Fluttershy was Svengallop, Pinkie Pie was Discord, Rarity was Suri, and Applejack was Gladmane, Derpy sees her mirror come forward and sees she was a human, Derpy screamed in horror at her reflection.
A light blue beam is shot and it destroys the nightmare, Derpy runs away and sees Princess Luna coming, she hugs Derpy with her wings as she cries on her front right leg,
"It's okay, Derpy, it's just a bad dream, I'm here." Princess Luna said,
"There's this black unicorn that's been saying I'm a failure, he also said that I'm not important." Derpy replied with tears in her eyes,
"Derpy, that unicorn is actually a magical creature that either helps you or puts you down, he is created by how people view you, he's saying those things to you because that's how the ponies in your life see you, a failure, however, if people saw you as successful, he would be kind and supportive of you instead." Princess Luna said, Derpy snivels a little,
"What am I supposed to do?" Derpy asked,
"You have to prove him wrong, when he gives you an assignment that you're good at, show him that you are, and he will disappear, I'm sorry to say this, Derpy, but you just have to endure his harsh treatment for now." Princess Luna replied, Derpy continued to cry a little,
"The morning is almost here, Derpy, I wish you good luck." Princess Luna said, and she flew away, Derpy sleeps fine for the rest of the night.
The next day comes and Derpy was off from work today, she does her usual morning routine and makes a mess in the bathroom, brushes her face instead of her teeth, burns her breakfast, and bumps into things, as always, Derpy walks to the front door of her house but she is picked up by telekinesis and brought upstairs, Derpy fights to free herself but she is put in a chair with The Teacher standing in front of her.
Derpy whimpers at seeing The Teacher in her home,
"SILENCE!!" The Teacher yelled as he hit her across her face with the ruler, Derpy stops whimpering but was still scared,
"You are a disgrace! Trying to skip class this early in the morning! Your parents would be ashamed of you!" The Teacher said,
"But my parents have already passed away." Derpy said,
"Do you remember how they passed?" The Teacher asked,
"They got sick and didn't wake up one morning." Derpy said,
"Do you know why?" The Teacher asked,
"I just told you, they got sick." Derpy replied,
"NO!!" The Teacher yelled as he hit the desk with the ruler,
"They passed away so they wouldn't have to see you anymore, they saw your eyes mess up and they realized the abomination they have brought to this world! They passed away so they would not have to see you anymore! They passed away because when they saw your eyes, they have realized they have given birth to an abomination that was a hybrid between a blind pony and an ugly pony!" The Teacher said angrily, Derpy had tears in her eyes,
"This town will be a better and happier place when you leave! This world will be a better and happier place when you die! So do us all a favor, and just die already, so you will not contaminate this world any longer with your stupidity and clumsiness!" The Teacher said angrily, Derpy ran out of the room and out of her house while crying.
Derpy was on the bridge and looking into the water while crying,
"Am I a failure like he says? Am I really not important?" Derpy asked while looking at her reflection,
"Of course not, Derpy." a female voice said to Derpy's left, she looks and sees Twilight Sparkle walking to her,
"You're fine and beautiful just the way you are, and while we do see you a lot, and you're not involved in helping us, you're still important to all of us, to everyone in and out of Ponyville, things would be different without you." Twilight Sparkle said, Derpy started to feel better,
"Are you here to cheer me up?" Derpy asked,
"Actually, no, I just noticed you looking down and wanted to make sure you were alright, and Pinkie Pie wanted me to give you this, her Pinkie Sense was telling her that you were upset." and she uses telekinesis to give Derpy a basket full of muffins, it had a get well soon card on it,
"Twilight, do you think I'm a failure?" Derpy asked,
"No, of course not, Derpy, you should take a walk around town and watch the others; if you don't fail, you won't succeed, you have to learn from them, but if you succeed without failing, you won't learn anything." Twilight Sparkle replied, Derpy smiled,
"Tell me, Derpy, why did you come to Ponyville?" Twilight Sparkle asked,
"When I was living in another town after moving out from Cloudsdale, I was harassed and bullied for my eye problems, but one traveling pony made me feel better, she was heading to Ponyville and stopped by for a break, she gave me a map so I can come here when I had enough money, and when I did, I moved here so I can see her, she was my very first friend, and shortly after coming here, I made my second friend, which was Fluttershy, those two have been my best friends along with Doctor Whooves." Derpy replied, Twilght Sparkle smiled,
"That's really nice to hear, but I have to get going now, Derpy, see you later." Twilight Sparkle said,
"Okay, bye." Derpy replied, and Twilight Sparkle walked away.
Derpy eats the muffins and walks around, she sees Rainbow Dash practicing her flying, she crashes into the ground and gets back up, she then sees Fluttershy flying around and Derpy follows her, she sees her feed her pets,
"I'm sorry, everyone, but I wasn't able to find the ingredients you all wanted, so we'll have to make-do." Fluttershy said, Derpy felt rubbing on her left side and sees the capybara again, it licks her affectionately and then goes to Fluttershy, Derpy flies away while Fluttershy improvises.
Derpy flies around again and hears noises in Sugarcube Corner, she looks through the window and sees Pinkie Pie was working with Mr. and Mrs. Cake to make a new pastry, it explodes and icing flies everywhere, the three laugh and try again, Derpy decided to fly away.
Derpy flies to the Carousel Boutique and sees Rarity and Sweetie Belle outside, they were hanging clothes,
"Sweetie Belle, I can't have that fabric in the sun, it..." Rarity said, and the shirt grows bigger, "...expands." Rarity finished,
"Oh, sorry." Sweetie Belle replied,
"It's alright, dear, this can be fixed, just bring me some detergent, this can be shrunk back to its normal size." Rarity said, and Sweetie Belle ran into the house to bring Rarity the detergent,
"No, no, no, the other type." Rarity said, and Sweetie Belle ran back in, she came out with another one,
"Yes, that's the one, let's go in now." Rarity said, and she uses telekinesis on the shirt that got bigger, Sweetie Belle waves at Derpy with her front left hoof with a smile on her face, Derpy waved back with her right front hoof and then flew away.
Derpy flies to Sweet Apple Acres but hits a tree and falls, she stands up and walks over to watch the Apple family,
"That ain't how it's done, don't mess up again." Granny Smith said,
"But, granny..." Apple Bloom replied,
"Take it easy, sugar cube, it took me a while to get bakin' right too." Applejack said,
"How bout you, Big Mac?" Apple Bloom asked,
"Nope." Big Macintosh replied,
"That's cause Big Mac can't bake." Granny Smith said, Big Macintosh snorts and glares at Granny Smith,
"Come on, sugar cube, let's try it one more time." Applejack said, and Apple Bloom tries to make the recipe, Derpy left and kept looking around.
Derpy walks around Ponyville and hears a scooter, she sees Scootaloo trying to do a trick, but she crashes into a rock and flies off,
"Whoa!" Scootaloo said as she flew through the air, Derpy rushes to try to catch her, but Rainbow Dash gets to her,
"You okay, squirt?" Rainbow Dash asked,
"Yeah, just trying a new trick, I came up with it last night." Scootaloo replied,
"Well, let me see it, I'll see if I can help." Rainbow Dash said, Scootaloo smiled and got back on her scooter and drove away while Rainbow Dash followed her, Derpy smiled at what she saw, but decided that she should look somewhere else.
Derpy walks around again and hears an explosion at Dr. Whooves house, she runs and sees him experimenting,
"Great wickering stallions! I have failed again!" Dr. Whooves said, Derpy chuckled and went elsewhere,
Derpy hears music playing and sees DJ Pon-3 and Octavia rehearsing, they mess up the song and try again. Derpy looks around and sees Cranky and Matilda speaking to a unicorn, but Cranky gets angry and starts yelling, but Matilda stops him and explains to him why he should not and must control his temper. Derpy walks more and sees Cheerilee getting ready for class tomorrow and stops when she realized she forgot something, she searches the classroom for an item. Derpy walks a bit more and soon hears two female voices, she looks and sees Lyra and Sweetie Drops arguing about their relationship, she hears more arguing to her right and sees Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon were arguing about an investment gone wrong, and who's family's fault it was, she walks past them and then sees Snips and Snails sad about their failing grades in school, she walks past them. Derpy decides to head home but she hears running and sees Mayor Mare in a hurry,
"Why did I forget it today? I have to remind myself to write down my assignments for the day." Mayor Mare said to herself, she keeps running around and Derpy ignores it, she keeps walking back and sees Twilight Sparkle making a list and trying to keep things neat and organized, Spike was helping her,
"Okay, Spike, I need the list checked." Twilight Sparkle said,
"But we already checked it five times." Spike replied,
"Trust me, Spike, it's best to check again to make sure, so check again, and make sure nothing's missing." Twilight Sparkle said,
"Ugh, fine." Spike replied, and he checked the list in his hands, he was eating gems as well,
"Spike, what did I say about eating gems?" Twilight Sparkle asked,
"I'm sorry, Twilight, I'm trying my best to restrain myself." Spike replied,
"Well, try harder." Twilight Sparkle said, and the two walk away; Derpy was fully convinced that others fail just like she does, and decides to head home.
Derpy arrives into her house while thinking what she was good at, she realizes that she was good at painting, she remembers the muffin she painted on Fluttershy's capybara home, she realized that she can prove The Teacher wrong, and went upstairs to see him and sat,
"So you decided to come back, I hope you realized how much of a failure you are." The Teacher said, Derpy glares at him,
"No! I am successful, I found something I'm good at, painting." Derpy replied sternly, The Teacher glared at her,
"Fine." and he makes a canvas, a paintbrush, and a palette with the colors red, blue, yellow, white, black, and brown on it,
"Paint anything you like, but I bet you'll fail at that just like how you fail at life." The Teacher said, Derpy was angry but kept herself calm, she mixes the white with brown and makes light brown, she paints and makes the picture go from the bottom-center of the canvas to the upper-left corner, she then cleans the brush and puts blue spots on it and then puts the brush down,
"Done." Derpy said, The Teacher looks and was disgusted at the picture,
"What is this abomination?! You can't even make a picture!" The Teacher said angrily, Derpy glares at him and holds the canvas, she flies up makes him look at the painting from the lower-right and sees the painting become a perfectly shaped muffin, The Teacher screamed in shock,
"Ana... Anamorphosis!" The Teacher said in horror, unable to believe that Derpy was actually successful in something, he screams in rage and breaks his ruler, he pulls his mane with his hooves and begins to disappear in a puddle,
"No! That's not right! You did it wrong! You're a failure!" The Teacher said before he disappear into a bubbling puddle, it disappeared as well and the desk and painting broke apart, Derpy smiled at what has just happened,
"I... I did it." Derpy said as she had tears of joy in her eyes, she then remembers when she made her first friend.
Derpy was living the town she was in before she moved to Ponyville, and it was filled with unicorns, Pegasi, and earth ponies, they all teased her and excluded her due to her eye problems, a pony who was traveling to Ponyville stopped by one day to rest, Derpy was licking and enjoying an ice cream cone that day, but a unicorn, a Pegasus, and an earth pony sneak up behind her, the earth pony kicks her from behind, causing her to lose her grip on the ice cream, the Pegasus catches it and the unicorn uses telekinesis on her so she could not move, the three run away laughing while Derpy watches in tears and tries to free herself, the unicorn lets her go when they were out of sight, Derpy looks on while crying.
The pony heading to Ponyville sees what happens and gives chase,
"HEY!!" the pony yelled angrily as she chased the three bullies, she soon comes back by herself, Derpy was still crying over her stolen ice cream, she runs past her and soon comes back with an ice cream cone, Derpy stops crying and looks,
"You can have mine." the pony said,
"Really?" Derpy asked, the pony nodded, and Derpy took the ice cream cone,
"Thank you." Derpy said, the pony smiled,
"I'm Pinkie Pie. What's your name?" the pony asked,
"Der... Derpy." Derpy replied, Pinkie Pie then hugged Derpy, getting some of the ice cream on herself,
"Is it always like this for you here?" Pinkie Pie asked, Derpy nodded sadly,
"Every day." Derpy replied, Pinkie Pie was shocked, she takes a map out of her saddlebag and gives it to Derpy,
"When you have enough money, come here, to Ponyville, you'll probably like it better there, I'll be waiting for you." Pinkie Pie said, Derpy smiled,
"I have to get going now, bye." Pinkie Pie said, she rubbed Derpy's head with her front left hoof and hopped away.
Derpy made enough money from her job as a mail carrier in that town and went to Ponyville about two weeks later, Pinkie Pie greeted her with a big party and she was welcomed almost instantly, she befriended Fluttershy shortly afterwards, and Dr. Whooves a few weeks later, she worked as a mail carrier again, but it was for a different company.
Derpy comes back to the present and it was night time, Derpy hears noises outside and was curious, she heads out and sees a party in Ponyville, she looks and sees a bright red banner, Happy Friendship Day was written on it, Derpy walks over slowly, Twilight Sparkle sees her and runs to her, she hugs Derpy with her left wing,
"Glad you could make it, Derpy." Twilight Sparkle said,
"Thank you, Twilight, I wouldn't have noticed that everyone messes up if not for you, I'm not the only one." Derpy replied, Twilight Sparkle smiled,
"I've learned a lesson too." Derpy said,
"Well, go on and say it." Twilight Sparkle replied,
"I have learned that while we fail and make mistakes, we are still successful in a way, because we have learned something new, without failure, we cannot truly succeed, success without any failure means you learned nothing or just got lucky, and success isn't just about being popular and well-known, or saving the world, it can be small like finishing a drawing, or trying to bake a muffin. Success isn't just achieving our dreams, it's doing things that are met with satisfactory results, either your own satisfaction or the satisfaction of other people, and doing it your own way." Derpy said, Twilight Sparkle smiled,
"Derpy!" Pinkie Pie said excitedly and ran to her, she hugged Derpy and showed a pie with cupcakes and muffins in it,
"A symbol of our friendship." Pinkie Pie said, Derpy smiled at the pie, Derpy then felt rubbing on her back and saw the capybara again, it rubbed against Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie as well,
"Everypony, meet my new pet." Fluttershy said as she flew to them, the capybara goes to the other ponies and they all like it,
"Okay, everypony, it's time for our picture." Mayor Mare said, and they all stand in front of a camera.
Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, Spike, Owlowiscious, Tank, Angel, the capybara, Gummy, Opalescence, and Winona were in the front, on the ground, from left to right in the first row of ponies were Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, Derpy, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity, and everypony in town were behind them, they all stood in places so they can all be seen in the picture, many pictures were taken everypony can have one, it was done and the celebration continues.
The celebration ends and Derpy heads home, she hangs the picture on the wall, in front of her bed, she saw the picture as everyone in town being her friend, and she was the focal point in the picture, she lays in her bed and sleeps peacefully, and felt a lot happier now knowing that she is not a failure, but rather, a success, in her own, unique way.
