Riots and Revolutions

Bright Fire

You stare out the window at the growing crowd of ponies, some with stereotypical torches and pitchforks, some with bricks, metal bats, and molotovs. You close the blinds and lie back down, in your small bedroom. You cry as you hear another bang ring out from across town. You closed your eyes hard, forcing yourself to sleep, the sounds outside horrific.

Outside, rain pours down, pattering against your window pane as a fire lights up your room. You lie a pillow on top of your head, as you slowly drift to sleep.

You quickly set fire to a pile of hay, slowly becoming wet, but the oil on it lights up quickly from your torch. Your friend punches your shoulder, as you both cheer out. A pony from the crowd grabs a flag of the Equestrian government and lies it in the fire, as you watch the flag burn up, the smoke rising into the air. You feel a twinge of regret hit you, but you shove it off as you throw your torch on top of the pile.

Your friend points as a Canterlot guard gets jumped by a group of ponies, taking his armor off, and beating his with stick and rocks, before another only came over and raised a spear above the pony, as he begged. The guard was saved, as an arrow pierced the attacker's leg, dropping him.

You watched the riot from the high walls of the Canterlot castle. You saw a foal close their blinds, and retreat to their room. You felt bad for them, they were young during the darkest of time of Equestrian history. The night lit up as a pile of hay catches fire, and two stallions cheer. You watch as a flag is placed over it, and one of the two stallions point to a guard, as he gets attacked by several ponies, as they strip his armor, and kick and beat him with sticks and rocks. One stallion picks up his spear and goes to impale him, but an arrow pierces his leg, dropping him. The guard stands up and backs away, you look over and nod at the guard who saved him.

You watched several other scenes happen from your great vantage point. You watched a mare bash in another mare's head, cause she said something to the other's stallion. An old couple sits on their porch fending off rioters with knives and sticks. You look away as the couple is overtaken by the rioters, but you lay your eyes on another much worse scene. You watch as a pony hangs out of the four-story window, and is dropped to the crowd below. You wanted to call this, but orders say you couldn't do anything about it, just protect other guards and the castle itself.

You toss and turn as ponies yell louder and louder, until you finally jump as an explosion rocks your room, shaking your bed. You hopped out of bed and ran to the window. The wall of the Canterlot castle had been blown open, as rioters marched in, trampling guard ponies. You hide under your bed as you hear your front door bust open. You hear your parents scream as ponies race upstairs.

You joined the rioters as they broke into a house, you spotted a foal in the window, and so did somepony else. You get pushed inside, as you watch a couple, a unicorn and Earth pony get overtaken and beaten with a stick, rocks, and spears. You march upstairs and tore the room apart looking for the foal. Somepony lifted the bed and pulled the crying colt out from under it. The stallion holding him punched his chest, making a disgusting crunch resonate out.

You sat on top of the wall, watching the street below. You saw it too late to do anything about it. A group of ponies that attacked public buildings and government facilities, they went by the name 'E.C.T.' or the Equestrian Correction Team. They were terrorists, killing any pony that got in their way. They exploded and blew a hole in the wall, collapsing an entire section of the wall, killing a colleague of yours. You backed away from the crumbling wall, as it collapsed in front of you. You turned to run, but ran and flew head first off the wall, as they had collapsed the other side when you weren't looking. You blacked out as your body slams on the rubble.

You try and save the now unconscious foal, but you get held back by your friend. You push past him and pull the foal away. The stallion yells at you as you lie the foal behind you, as you feel your back leg get stomped on. You scream out as the stallion shatters your leg. He picks you up and slams you against the wall. Your friend grabs the stallion's leg and pulls him off you, but your friend isn't as lucky, as he gets a knife lodged in his back by a bystander. He collapses, his eyes glazing over, as the stallion returns his attention to you. He mercilessly neat your face and legs, before dropping you.

He leaves you alone, before picking you and the foal up, and throwing you both through the window. The air whipped through your mane and the glass cuts your skin as you both land on the ground. You roll around for a minute, finally covering the foal as you black out.

Celestia sat in her room sipping her tea, as a single tear fell from her eye as her entire castle shook. She knew what was coming, and she was about to do something she would resent for another millennium. She was about to harm her little ponies. She heard the yells and shouts from her ponies as she walked out onto her balcony, and saw a guard fall to a probable demise, as a window shatters sending a colt and stallion falling to a likely death. She hated what her nation turned into. She heard the door to her room get pounded on as she listened to her sister's cries for help and begs for forgiveness. She prayed that she would be able to live and fix her nation, but she stopped lying to herself, when the door burst open and most of Canterlot's population flooded her room, killing her guards. She accepted what was about to happen, but wouldn't go down without a fight, as she charged her horn up and let out a small pulse of magic that liquified her subjects immediately. She was held down by the rest of the ponies as some approached with spears and swords. She laughed as the killed her, where she lies. She had a great few thousand years, her last magic caused the sun and moon to revolve on their own until somepony took control. She closed her eyes and died slowly, as she bled out.
